Summary

Dr. Moe Anderson interviews Caleb Matthews, a dream interpreter and seer, about how understanding dreams, spiritual intelligence, and personal DNA of design can unlock purpose, confidence, and authentic leadership. They explore practical frameworks for dream interpretation, the role of spiritual alignment in overcoming obstacles, and how character development—not just gifting—creates lasting influence.

Insights
  • Dreams serve as divine communication channels that can guide decision-making and reveal personal purpose when properly interpreted and journaled
  • Individual gifting and DNA are uniquely encoded; attempting to replicate others' success paths leads to misalignment with one's true calling
  • Character depth is proportional to influence—the valley of suffering and struggle precedes sustainable mountain-top success
  • Covenants, contracts, and agreements (visible and invisible) set in motion unseen powers that shape life trajectories; intentionality about commitments is critical
  • Spiritual intelligence (spirit, soul, body integration) provides more actionable insight than purely psychological or soul-driven dream analysis
Trends

Hey, it's time for perpetual motion. Stay tuned for perpetual motion. I love the speakers. Listening from Asia. Perpetual motion, Aguas. We are below and we knew. Stay plugged with perpetual motion. You're on with perpetual motion. Perpetual motion? Transformative. Love it. Stay plugged with perpetual motion. Perpetual motion. Perpetual motion podcast. We love it. That not everyone should be dream interpreters, but we all dream. So I would say that there definitely is a gifting involved. Wanted to be exercised and grown. In fact, we can all grow and develop our gifts in that regard. Which is why I have this framework called the DNA of design. And that's what we got into with our conversation on the prequel with David. About following our own individual gifting. Because in a world where people are trying to peer pressure us to, oh, you got to be like that gifting. Got to be like Tony Robbins. Or you got to be like Taylor Swift. Or you got to be like in that lane to be successful. Well, no, in fact, if we do that, and we go off path and where somebody else's armor, then we're not going to do it called to do on the earth and our purpose. And so dream interpreting is definitely a gift that I've exercised over 32 years since I was 6. Hi, I'm Dr. Mo Anderson. Author, speaker and podcast host. In this spot, real talk meets real growth. Each week, I sit down with experts, creatives and change makers for conversation and sometimes make you laugh out loud. If you're ready to grow up, glow up and go further, hit subscribe and let's move. Hey everybody, welcome to perpetual motion. What if your dreams weren't random, but meaningful messages pointing you toward your identity, your calling and even your confidence. Today, I'm joined by Caleb Matthews, a seer and dream interpreter who helps people unpack the deeper significance behind their dreams. He's known for guiding individuals to better understand purpose, integrity and spiritual intelligence through his sea link approach. This conversation is for anyone who like me has ever wondered whether those vivid dreams or quiet instincts are trying to tell you something important about who you are and where you're headed. Welcome, Caleb. Thank you so much, Dr. Mo, for having me. This is awesome. Yes, it is. Yes, it is. Let's just jump right in. Caleb, take us back to the beginning. What experiences first led you to identify as a seer and dream interpreter? I mean, that's not something you hear every day. It definitely isn't something we hear every day. The audience is probably thinking, man, what's this all about? Well, let's jump back into the timeline because I love going back into the history. In fact, each one of us, we have a history of our own lives that speaks even from then to now and also into the future. When I was six years old, one of my first vivid memories actually was when I was going to bed and falling asleep into that lucid state. Now, I know you're probably familiar with that phrase, Dr. Mo, and our audience, but in dreams where you're aware that you're not quite asleep but you're not awake, you're falling into that lucid state. And as a six-year-old, I was in a lucid state and I had this dream experience where I just started hearing the tinkling of wind chimes. And it wasn't my regular wind chimes that mom had in the backyard. It was like right over my bed. I was like, okay, something is happening here. This is more than just what I'm reading about in the Bible or these mystical history books. So that's where it started. That kick started me onto a path of discovery of understanding dreams and dream analysis. Interesting. Interesting. So that was the beginning. Understood. But later, once you came full circle and understanding psychology and religion and philosophy, was there a specific dream or defining moment that confirmed for you that this was your path? Or was that it when you were six? Yeah, well, six is really it started to explode. Like, how is a homeschooler? So shout out to all the homeschoolers out there, home education. I'm one of them says great. Hey, look, I made it mom. It's great for anyone out there that may have a stigma of oh, homeschoolers are the shy, you know, they don't communicate in front of the camera. They're kind of do we be or weird or nerdy? Maybe some of that's true. But you know, for the for me, it was really helpful because I'm a kinesthetic learner and me and my two older brothers, we were homeschooled from grade two onwards. And one of the things in homeschooling that was included in the curriculum that my mother had the freedom to include in the curriculum back when homeschooling was becoming just more a new thing in the block was dream interpretation analysis through the hebraic method. And this helped me give me a framework even from a young age all the way to my teen years and beyond, because I was having regular dreams almost every night as a six year old. And it became the point where I was like, mom, what's going on? Because we didn't really have cable television or a movie household or anything like that. These were coming from another source, right? So you were having the specific dreams. I get that and they were vivid. But I don't understand how that led you to what you're doing now. So maybe let me just ask the next question, the C link method. You referenced something called the CSE link method. What is it and how does it help someone interpret inner or spiritual messages? Sure. So the C link method is something that's been birthed from a life of many decades from youth to teenage should all the way to adulthood of helping people understand the answer to two questions. Why am I here? What's my purpose? And seeing the links in our everyday lives in the daytime, those little nudges that maybe we miss when we're busy with paying taxes or walking the dog or taking the kids to school versus the night season as well where there's these messages that are being communicated to us. And just throwing some science out there by the time that we reach 60 years of age, we'll slept a third of our life. So there's that important gap of communication where God, higher power, spirit, energy, life, whatever framework you put for it is speaking, communicating to us. So the C link has been birthed to help people bridge the dots and the gaps between those divine nudges in the daytime and in the night season. And from a young age to going to a school of dream analysis when I was a teenager and going to Africa as well as my experiences in the corporate world, all were just different training grounds for really walking out my design but helping people discover their dots between. Okay. Okay. When we when we talked before on the pre-call, we kind of got into a conversation about David, who, you know, most Christians and even non Christians is a big movie house series house of David out right now associate immediately when they think about someone interpreting dreams. Do you think that this is a specific gift for you like a spiritual gift or how do you view this ability that you have this that's somewhat unique. Yeah, it is a specific gift, but I will say that not everyone should be dream interpreters but we all dream. So I would say that there definitely is a gifting involved, one to be exercised and grown. In fact, we can all grow and develop our gifts in that regard, which is why I have this framework called the DNA of design and that's what we got into with our conversation on the pre-call with David about following our own individual gifting because in a world where people are trying to peer pressure us to oh you got to be like that gifting got to be like Tony Robbins or you got to be like Taylor Swift or you got to be like in that lane to be successful. Well, no, in fact, if we do that, and we go off path and where somebody else's armor, then we're not going to do it called to do on the earth and our purpose and so dream interpreting. It's definitely a gift that I've exercised over 30 years, 32 years since I was six, but really especially from my teenage years over 20 years of actually actively interpreting for others. So it is a gift, but I don't want to discourage your audience. I want to say with our audience, it definitely is room to steward and grow in a lifestyle of understanding mysteries at the night to a degree and making sure we treasure them and not bypass them as just movies in the night that don't have any meeting. Right, right. And I am really on board with this because I grew up in a family with my mother had 14 siblings and my grandmother was really good at interpreting dreams. You could just, you know, share with her or call her and tell her and I mean, even to the point she just had that gift as well of she could tell all of us with the babies were going to be in fact that we were pregnant before we knew we were pregnant. Just incredible intuition. But one of the things she did and I'd like your comment on it because this may help someone particularly with the younger one. I had very vivid but frightening dreams as a child. Monsters were coming at me. Something was, it was just fighting, fighting and running and fighting to the point. I remember around first grade, I didn't even want to go to bed because something was always coming after me. And I remember my grandmother telling me, well, you know, you have control over that. You can, you can stop those monsters from coming at you and she gave me some very specific things to say and to do. And I was like, how am I, I can't control my dream. How am I going to do that? But I was desperate and I tried it and all of a sudden I became the shero in my own dreams. At six years old, that was just like mind blowing to me. And I think it honestly helped me the rest of my life to understand that I have control over even my subconscious thoughts on some level. What do you think about what she helped me do there? I think that's absolutely essential work. It's one of the things that myself and my team, when we're doing dream interpretation, we're teaching in workshops and seminars and podcasts and groups and conversations like this is the young years, the early years, are very impressionable for everybody in dreams. And what you shared, in fact, Dr. Moe is very common and in a way for many people that some of the first memories and dreams are in fact nightmares. There are these wild nightmares where you feel like you're being chased or there's an enemy out there or there's darkness after you or you can't speak or someone's trying to hold you down. Like I had some of those experiences myself as a young lad. Oh, that's awful. Awful. And what do we do with them? Well, we know that what comes against us defines the strength that we have inside of us. And you know, it's our territory. It's like in your home, if someone came to your home and tried knocking on your door and burst in their way through your door, well, that's an infringement upon your property. And it's no different in our spiritual life as well too, in our dream life. If there is something attacking us and we don't have to accept it, we can push back. And when we push back, what happens in the unseen will manifest in the scenes. So it all begins in that unseen realm because that's very key with that story that you shared. Because if we allow these nightmares to happen to us versus fighting back, then eventually as children, because at a young age we're impressionable, we can believe, oh, well, I guess the nightmare is supposed to happen to me. And then that creates a subconscious trigger towards allowing negative things to happen to us. Wow. Hey, Kudo's Big Mama, thank you. Thank you, Mama. Thank you so much. So as adults, for listeners who didn't get that advice from their Big Mama, Me, Ma, or whatever they call grandma or their parents, and sometimes they don't even share. I mean, I've learned things from my grandkids, for example, that their parents didn't know. You know, sometimes they just don't quite know what to do with it. But as adults, say, this is, you know, we've got the falling, we've got the teeth coming out, some of the snakes, some of the things. They wake up with these vivid dreams but don't know what to do with them. Do you have a simple beginner step-by-step process for unpacking meaning without overthinking it? Sure. The first few cogs of the beginner process, I would say, first thing is, of course, when you wake up, is you've got to have a journal next to your bed. You've got to write it down. Like, if you don't write these things down, it's... Dream recollection is built on having some sort of recording device, whether it's writing or drawing a picture. People have different methods, but if we don't write it down and we just think, oh, I'll remember it later, it's going to fizzle away. Most of it's going to be gone. It does, yeah. It just goes. Like, oh, I'm going to drink my coffee or I'm going to go take the dog for a walk. I'll remember it in two hours. Well, most of it's going to disappear. So write it down. Step number one. Step number two is, ask yourself this question. And we all have a different answer to this question. What is this a picture of? What does this mean to me? What does this mean to Dr. Moe? What does this mean to Caleb? What does this mean to you? Because the way that I see a German Shepherd in a dream, for example, is going to be different than the way that you see a German Shepherd or somebody else. Maybe for somebody else, a German Shepherd was their loyal childhood dog. For me, it was terrifying because it chased me down the street as a young boy. It's going to mean different. So just ask yourself a question. What does this mean to me? So first two things, write it down. Ask yourself a question. What is this a picture of? Start engaging with a dream like the dream is a real person you're talking to. And those are some good first steps. I like that. I like that. I have tried some stuff popped up on social media or wherever, their websites where you can put in whatever you dreamed about. And it'll tell you, I just don't know how that could be one answer for everybody's dreams. But what do you think about the websites like that? Is that a waste of time or what's going on there? Well, I think there's a measure of knowledge and wisdom there. But I'm just going to be just a straight, straight book because I'm a straight shearer like you are a doctor, Moe. This is where it boils down to spirit versus soul. And that's where I talk about the SSB method spirit, soul and body versus the dichotomous worldview, which is just mind and body. And a lot of these dreams, symbol books and teachings and articles and charts, they're more soul driven without the spiritual connection. And then if we go to the ones that have the spiritual connection, but maybe they're like psychic guides. And this is no slight on psychics, by the way, because I've got some friends who are psychics, but they're more or less multiple spiritual guides for dream analysis. Like I flow from a perspective and a belief that God is the giver of dreams, a source. And so there's that one source where dreams come from. Now, not everyone may have that conviction, but that's my personal conviction since you asked me there. So within that SSB method, we're all spirit, soul and body. But when we're looking towards these answers, I believe the most beneficial and the most practical way is to look at dreams as coming from God as a source. And then moving from there versus just our own psyche and soul, because we can get into some really weird stuff if we're just looking at our mind, right? Okay. Yeah. Great answer. You talk about Caleb identity, calling and destiny, being encoded in each person's DNA. You kind of touched on that earlier. And as a biology major health care, I think DNA is genetics. But it sounds like this spiritual component. I don't understand how this encoded your DNA, but you don't inherit it. I guess, I guess that's what I'm trying to get to because I understand the spiritual component as a Christian. But how is this encoded in your DNA? Yeah. And you know, this is the reason I think one of the main reasons why we're on this call right now in the pre call, you're like Caleb, you're like this DNA of design thing. We're like, let's let's get on the show and talk because I haven't heard this perspective. So here's where I'm going to combine the pieces of the puzzle, right? Because I believe that they're interconnected. We're talking about spirit, soul and body. DNA, of course, were created in the image of God. But within that DNA, within the physical DNA is giftings and abilities in a way that were wired and were functioned. The cool thing is, scientifically speaking, that no matter who we are in the world right now alive in history, those who were and those to come, there's not anybody, even with cloning and AI and all this crazy stuff, there's not anybody that will ever be exactly the same way down to the cellular level 100% that we are. We cannot be replicated 100%. And that's what I'm getting at here is that within our own physical DNA, there is that gifting, that imprint, that fingerprint of God that's been put there. So I just want to give an example here practically just to pour that out. I talk about the I of I principle when I'm speaking about DNA. It's the early years of entrepreneurship, of innovation. So audience be thinking, Taylor, what does that mean? Well, in my young age, when I was six, seven years old, right around the time I was starting to dream, one of my first memories on the front lawn was reading a book, reading a children's book to our neighborhood-friendly black Labrador dog called Ace. And I was sharing stories just with the dog as if it was just me talking to you right now. And I like to think that when I'm having these conversations, even 30 years later, that I'm still 20, 30 years later, I'm still having the conversation with the friendly black Labrador Ace dog and the same childlike joy that I had when I was a kid. Now, what does all that mean have to do with DNA? Well, it has everything to do with it because my first memories, my first joys as a child was sharing stories, was communicating, was inviting people in, whether it be a dog, stuffed animals, my bunny, my brothers, my neighbors, it was gathering people around to motivate them for storytelling. That was built into my DNA from God. I don't believe it's just a spiritual thing. I think it's a natural thing that's coming out of my expression. And so that's what I'm getting at here for our audience is, our audience is probably listening right now thinking, okay, Caleb, how does that work for me? Well, go back to your early years. What if I didn't have good early years memories? Well, what comes against you earlier, Dr. Mow, we were talking about nightmares. What comes against us defines us, just like David in the Bible, a giant that came against him is what was defining him for his purpose. So those are some clues, but anyways, I could ramble on forever. No, I love it. I'm loving it. I'm learning a lot here. I'm wondering how does greater self-awareness through dreams, through the information that you're sharing or a spiritual insight, how can that translate into confident communication and better leadership? Well, everything, absolutely everything. And I'm going to use the example of one of my heroes. I was also one of my pillars as well, to history speaks. We talk about dreams translating into more confident leaders and confident living. Harriet Tubman is one of the heroes that I have today to this day who has been influential upon my life. Now, she's in the cloud of witnesses. She's in heaven and she's going to be one of the first people I meet when I get to the pearly gates after I meet. I've never heard that before. You got an order of people you want to meet. I like that. Yeah, it's like, alright, Jesus, after I'm going in, alright, Caleb, come into your reward, I'm going to see Harriet Tubman there and she'll be in the middle of singing her song with all of her friends, like Swing Down, Sweetchariot, come forth to take me home, like those classic hymns. Oh, you just got me started on that. But Harriet Tubman, when she ran from south to north, from Maryland to Pennsylvania to Canada and back again, as a runaway, as running to freedom. Most people don't know, or either they don't know, or the public school system has removed a lot of the mystical God element language of the truth of actually the story of Harriet Tubman. And here I'm going to dish it out right here, right now, right now on the show. And that is, when she ran, she would fall asleep and she'd be running away from her masters and guard dogs and shotguns and those who were trying to drag her back to slavery. She would have these vivid dreams and these trances and these experiences in the night season where God would say, go to that house, that's safe, don't go to that house, trust that person, don't trust that person. And she would use her dreams as a roadmap, all the way from Maryland to Pennsylvania to Canada and back again. And after 12 to 13 different voyages and freeing over 300 slaves, you know, that was her piece of the puzzle in history. But she was able to receive freedom, not just because she was fortunate and got lucky, so to speak, but God's hand was on her and dreams of the night season were an influential key player for that. So we're no different than Harriet Tubman. Our dreams are speaking to us to help us translate those codes into living messages as confident leaders to break free the shackles of this world system we live in today. I appreciate that. I'm a big cultural historian and Harriet Tubman. Folks, if you're not familiar with it, there's a great movie. I can't think of the name of it right now. Harriet. Harriet starting, is it Cynthia Enviro? Yeah, a phenomenal movie. A phenomenal movie. There are lots of books about her, but I must add as a cultural historian that she wasn't just sleeping. She was having blackouts because of the brutality of her master. But God worked that evil for good because she did hear voices, is documented and led so many people to freedom. Because I gotta be honest, I think I might have gotten to Canada and been like, ooh, I hope they make it up here. I'm not going back down there. I mean, that woman risked her life over and over again. I mean, there were other people who made it to freedom, but they didn't come back for anyone. That's what makes her so freaking remarkable and never lost a slave. I never lost a passenger. Never lost a passenger. It had babies and everything. I just get chills thinking about it. Got the goosebumps there. Right, and we're upset because we had to stay 30 minutes over at work thinking, oh my God, what a hard life I have. You persecuted at work here out there a little. I'm being persecuted, which is the other beauty of history, which it sounds like we both love, is that it gives you perspective. Travel and history give you beautiful perspective. Thank you. Thank you for sharing that and introducing her. Absolutely. And reminding others of the remarkable role models we have in this area. Yes. I want to come to the present now. We live in a culture that values speed and noise over reflection and wisdom. Not everyone, but many do. And gloss and floss. How do we lead with integrity and spiritual intelligence when those traits aren't always rewarded or valued or encouraged? We have to lean into what doesn't put the bums and seats, as I say, and that is the message of character overgifting. Because character will keep us in the realm of influence. Gifting is seasonal, like the four seasons, spring, summer, fall, winter. But character, deep delving roots of character, is what will keep us to be able to push back against the hustle culture. Because in a world of fast food, it's very much fast delivery of, okay, everything's got to be fast. Like you've got to really be accelerating. You've got to really warp time and do everything quickly and check all the boxes to be successful. At least that's what the peer pressure of this world system is pushing this con culture. And character is something that isn't the rosy bright lights New York, Hollywood, Broadway kind of message. It takes time. And that is, I want to say something that one of my mentors, he spoke to me many years ago, he said, of me, and I think this is the principle of message as well, is that the height of your mountain is proportionate to the depth of your valley, which means the deeper the valley and the deeper the suffering and the deeper the character, the bigger the influence. And most people will skip the valley to get to the mountain when we can't do that. Absolutely, absolutely. Wow, that's profound. I love that. For our exit question before I pass you the mic and let you tell everyone about your wonderful services and how to connect with you. If listeners only have one big takeaway today, and it may be a subject I didn't even broach, but if they have one big takeaway today, that's all they have the capacity for. What should they remember going forward? Beware of covenants, contracts, and agreements, both in the visible and in the invisible, because they will define the course of your life. Be extremely careful of what you take oath on, what you agree to, what you don't agree to, because they will set in motion powers in the unseen and in the seen. And that's the way that God created the universe and be wise of where you invest your seed and your vial of time, because we only have one vial of time on the earth and we've got to make the most of it. So that's what I want to leave our audience with, is invest wisely the vial of your time, because it's the most precious commodity that you'll have in life. Indeed, indeed it is. Caleb, amazing. Wish we had more time. This has just been eye-opening. But for those who would like to learn more about you and your services and products, tell them how to find you, what they'll find, how to connect with you online. For sure. So thank you very much for making space and truly a tremendous treat and a privilege. I've been circling this one on the calendar for a while. It's been great. For audience who are like, hey, I really like what Caleb said about dreams or DNA or design or history speaks or I have I principle. There's good news. The conversation doesn't end here on listening to me as a guest on Dr. Mose amazing podcast. You can find more information on CalebMatthews.net, but specifically I've got some cool activations there for free for you to be able to actually try out and discover your own DNA of design prototype. There's five different prototypes that I have in my complimentary DNA of design quiz. So if you're like, okay, what's this whole DNA of design thing? I want to discover my own DNA of design type. There's a free quiz where you can answer some questions and find out what your gift mix is and your type is. And that's there on the website. I've got my bi-monthly newsletter called seek the link where I talk about different inspirational motivational topics upon the four pillars we spoke about today. I'd love to have you on the journey and keep you a part of the Sea Link family. But Dr. Mo, thank you very much. Truly a delight.
