We're having a conversation about the greatest rapper of all time and the maneuvers he had to make. Some of them didn't land so good and in retrospect didn't look good. Right. Because he wanted to be the most dominant, biggest star ever in hip hop. He wanted to be the guy we call hoe. So yes, like, and oh, here's the other one. I had a private conversation about this one. Oh my God. Tarnished. Why did you use the word tarnish? I was like, I mean, well, he's gold. So I guess technically I can't, he's the gold standard. And they, and they said Pharrell has consistently acted in good faith. He has great respect for Chad and looks forward to resolving this in a way that honors their shared. I'm glad they said that because even yesterday when we covered it, that's why I threw it, or what was that two days ago? We could, whatever it was, that's why I threw it to you, Rosenberg, about publishing lawsuits because I thought, you know, with your brother being in the legal field, you maybe had more insight to me. But like these forensic accounting, kind of like quote unquote lawsuits where people get their lawyers and their accountants to go through people's books from the past to shake the trees and find out if there's any money owed. I cannot support the national Republicans stated retribution on the citizens of our state, nor can I count myself a member of a party that would do so. I support the originally stated goals of Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Operation Metro surge in locating and deporting the worst of the worst from our state. And I've seen many examples of ICE arresting non-U.S. citizens in Minnesota convicted of serious crimes, including murder, rape, and child sexual assault. No reasonable person should want these people here and I am glad that they are gone. But Operation Metro surge has expanded far beyond its stated focus on true public safety threats. United States citizens, particularly those of color, live in fear. United States citizens are carrying papers to prove their citizenship. That's wrong. ICE has authorized its agents to raid homes using a civil warrant that need only be signed by a Border Patrol agent. That's unconstitutional and it's wrong. Weaponizing criminal investigations against political opponents is unconstitutional regardless of who is in power. Republicans and Democrats alike have engaged in this misconduct and both must be held to the same standard. They need to do better. And I have read about and I have spoken to countless United States citizens who have been detained in Minnesota due to the color of their skin. I personally have spoken to several law enforcement officers, some Hispanic and some Asian, who have been pulled over by ICE on pretextual stops. Driving while Hispanic is not a crime. Either is driving while Asian. Driving while Black? At the end of the day, I have to look my daughters in the eye and tell them I believe I did what was right. And I am doing that today. I will say, we live in a time where the standard is so low that to see someone who even identifies as a Republican saying racism is wrong is refreshing. I know. You're like, wow, he's not totally okay with racism. He thinks they shouldn't do this and he's actually stepping away from it. However, however, he's so blind, so blind that he didn't know that the plans to run around and grab millions of people and deport them was going to lead to this. Now, while I would love to celebrate with everyone, how do I politely decline these invites for the sake of my pockets as I am also planning my own 40th.
