Summary

Kara Berry recaps the penultimate episode of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, focusing on Rachel's Studio 54 birthday party where tensions escalate between cast members over loyalty dynamics, Dorit's book cover launch party, and fallout from an Italy trip. The episode explores friendship fractures, particularly between Sutton and Dorit, while examining how financial stress and personal challenges are affecting cast relationships.

Insights
  • Loyalty-based friendships in high-net-worth social circles create transactional dynamics where support is conditional on alignment with dominant personalities rather than genuine care
  • Cast members use personal crises (empty nest, divorce proceedings, family stress) strategically to justify poor behavior and demand emotional labor from others without reciprocity
  • Social media activity by ex-partners creates disproportionate emotional reactions among cast members, suggesting unresolved relationship issues are being processed through public performance rather than private resolution
  • Absence from social events is weaponized as a statement of disapproval, with cast members using non-attendance to signal alliance shifts and create drama narratives
  • Financial scrutiny of cast members intensifies during personal crises, with friends pivoting from support to judgment about spending and money management
Trends
Performative feminism and 'supporting women' rhetoric used selectively based on social hierarchy and personal benefit rather than consistent valuesMemoir and book deals as status symbols and income diversification for reality TV personalities with limited traditional career optionsMental health and personal crisis narratives deployed strategically to deflect accountability for interpersonal harmSocial media as primary communication channel for relationship status updates, creating public spectacle around private relationship dissolutionEmpty nest syndrome and life transition anxiety among wealthy women as emerging narrative driver in lifestyle contentSelective friendship based on utility and social positioning rather than authentic connection in ultra-wealthy communitiesLegal action between family members (Kyle suing Kim for eviction) becoming public knowledge as reputation management crisis

Sutton just wrote me, after much thought the last few days, I've decided not to attend this evening. I want you to have a special night tonight and after the way things went at Rachel's birthday party, I think it's best I stay home. Is Erica coming? Come on. Hello, you guys. Welcome back to another episode here at Everyone's Business, but mine with me, Cara Berry. We're talking the penultimate episode of Real Housewives of Everly Hills this season. Thank God my patience with these women is worn thin. And to be honest with you, even if it hadn't just with the length of this season, this episode, they all would have tried it with me pretty much anyway for the most part. So let's get into it, y'all, because I really don't want to talk about this. So we start off with Rachel's Studio 54 themed backyard birthday party. Everybody's glam glitz, 70s, vibes, all of that, right? Rachel's dress like she usually is, but I mean that in the most complimentary way. Kyle is taking a photo with Sutton, Natalie and Amanda. Doreed is alone, you know, getting little pickings of some appetizers. And she says, I should be looking forward to seeing my friends, knowing that I'm going to be getting a strong sense of support. But instead, I have to deal with Kyle and her army of soldiers. Those little three. I'm just waiting for someone to be handing them out matching uniforms. And it's like funny, but it's also not funny because, ma'am, you also had a uniform years ago. Probably tailored, probably Chanel, but you were right there in your Fox Sports 5 costume and you were loving it and you had all the Girl Scout badges and all of that. So, you know, I appreciate that you've come out of the dark, but you were in it. You were in it too. Sutton is over asking Kyle, what's the strategy? What are you going to do with Doreed? When are you going to talk to her? Kyle throws her hands up. She's like, I don't know. At this point, I really don't care. We've argued, we've hurt each other's feelings, but that night in Italy was really the worst. So in a confessional, Kyle starts tearing up about how she feels frustrated and angry and really, really sad. And then she tells Sutton, I mean, calling your friend a cunt, like, that's awful. Jennifer is so funny. Thank God for Jennifer Tilly. She walks right up to Sutton and Kyle and goes, you're having a personal conversation, I see. So you knew that when you walked up. Met and deter you. Love that. They're like, never mind, Jennifer. Like, you're good. Kyle says, I have not talked to Doreed in a whole week. Not one time since we've been back to Italy. Sutton hears this and I guess she decides that this is like her sister's soldier moment for Kyle. But more on that in a second. Erica talks to Bose. Bose asks Erica, have you talked to Doreed since Italy? No, I know she's overwhelmed. I think at this point, I need space and that's okay. I can take a moment and be over here. She can be over there. And then Erica says in the confessional, is it worth salvaging? I don't know, but I need a moment to find out. I feel like this is fixable. I just feel like Erica and Doreed got in their field, mostly Erica, got a little bit deep into the feelings and like made a decision to ultimately choose Kyle. But it also seems like Erica feels more betrayed in this moment than Doreed does. Maybe Doreed is just really like, you know, Erica, you need to lose or move. So it's like, I can't even, like, I feel some type of way, but I'm not like that upset because you took the L by pledging allegiance to Kyle Richards. And like, that's stupid. So, you know, how personally could I really take that? And the sad truth is, I also don't think that Erica and Doreed can have a friendship so long as the relationship between Erica and Kyle exists. And especially exists in the way it does. And I think like Doreed feels that way and Kyle feels that way for different reasons, but equal reasons. You know what I mean? And then Sutton has her sister soldier movement. She gets a badge, a loyalty badge at the end of this episode from Kyle. I'm sure someone right onto your, your sash, little lady. You did it. She goes over to Doreed and says, have you and Kyle talked? Doreed says, no, we haven't really had a conversation, but my kids just started school this week. You know, sweet little Phoenix and Jaggy, they were doing homeschool for the past five years. So now they're back in public school or, you know, a school. She says it was a big transition on the bows, on the bows, on the way to the party. She was telling bows to read. This is, it's not funny. It was just the descriptor is funny. Doreed tells bows that Phoenix was a shell of herself. And that she, I just don't know why I describe that like it's just an interesting phrase for a child. But she says Phoenix was crying. She felt like she didn't fit in. She felt very isolated. And that then took it out of her mother. So Doreed tells Sutton, I think I'm going to talk to Kyle when I have my head more in the right place. And Sutton goes, well, I think it would be nice to just say, Kyle, I'm sorry. I didn't talk to you in the past week. I just think that would be nice. Okay. So Doreed keeps it real cute and she tells her, I'm very happy to hear your opinion. But that's really not the direction I'm going to go in. Why would I apologize for not speaking to Kyle when I never got a call from her? So like, sorry, not to sound too rude, Doreed. But then Rachel comes up. She sits on the arm of Doreed's chair that she's sitting at. And she says, it looks very serious. And Doreed's like, yeah, it is. Sutton has a lot of opinions about how I need to be approaching Kyle. So Doreed says that a confessional for the first time, Sutton and I were starting to have a friendship. But then she started talking behind my back. And our desperate obsession to get Kyle's approval is taken over. She's flushed whatever friendship we had down the toilet. Thank you for the reminder, editors, at the very beginning of the season, Sutton, Doreed, I'm not going to turn on you. We're going to make it right. We're going to go on the right. And I'm not going to do anything. Is it like turning? Is it no? Is it being whack? For sure. Why don't you go over there and tell Kyle that you're sorry for not talking to her for five days? Can you do that? What does this have to do with you, ma'am? Rachel tells Doreed, we're dancing. If it's the last fucking thing, you and I do. You are going to dance and have fun. Do you understand the incitement? And Doreed's like, I sure do. Let me go get another drink. She gets up. They both walk away. And Sutton's just like, I just got shut down. Sutton says in a confessional, this is mean girl Doreed 101. Oh, I don't like something you said, so I'm going to make you feel stupid and ignore you so you can make you feel smaller. It's mean. She's showing her true colors. Sometimes you just feel stupid for something that you said, and that's just, you know, again, an L that you have to take. Why are you mad at Doreed? Rachel's the one who came up and was like, get the fuck out of here. She's stupid and Doreed's like, fine. I mean, who am I to not follow what the host requests? It's her birthday. She wants to dance. We're going to dance. She says, get a drink. I'm going to get a drink. Sorry, Sutton. Like, what am I supposed to do? Sit and have a conversation with you about apologizing to Kyle for not speaking to her for less than a week. Like, girl, mind you, have Kyle and Doreed have been in like direct text-worthy contact this entire season? Like, I'm sure if they've taken five, six, ten day breaks over the course of filming in these past months, they probably had not been talking then. So why does it matter now? Also, I don't even think that this is something that Kyle would feel the need to have Sutton say on her behalf. Like, I'm sure she would be happy to have a minion in any form or fashion, but I don't really even think like, does Kyle know that Sutton is carrying this bone? Really? Does she care? Is she expecting a report back? Is she expecting an apology? What's happening? Sutton asked Kyle, do you have a strategy regarding Doreed? And she was like, no, not really. So I'm wondering Sutton, why you have a strategy for Doreed for Kyle? So then Sutton gets her feelings hurt because she just got embarrassed by being left and we know that Sutton feeling not part of the in-crowd and feeling like the odd man out is absolutely a trigger for her. Would beg the question of why she would put herself in situations like this? I don't know, but here we are. So she starts getting activated, says, I'm done. I'm sick of it. I just got shut down and Jennifer's like, oh yeah, you really got shut down. I'm leaving. Kyle starts acting really concerned. Sutton, why are you leaving? You can't go. We haven't danced yet. So Kyle and Kathy, who I guess has decided her job is follow, shuffle after the person who's leaving and upset and try to get them to come back to the party and finish filming the scene, please. So they go into a room with Sutton and Kyle and Kathy are like, what happened? Sutton says, I told Doreed, I think it would be nice if you told her, you know, you're going to reach out to her at some, she's going to reach out to you at some point. And then I don't know even what Doreed said, but then Rachel came in and Doreed starts talking to Rachel and I was sitting there and it was just very condescending. But I have emotions. I have things going on too. I'm now alone, seriously alone. I've been holding it together this summer. So Sutton says, I dropped my baby child off at college and that was stressful and hurtful. And if she would just think for one second, she would realize we could all help each other. You're upset because your child went to college? What? I know this is like a bittersweet moment, but is it like, are you actually going through it or do you just feel like this is a life milestone and you're supposed to have a feeling and so you're playing the emotion card? Because we have not seen Sutton really talk about this too much as she talked to Kyle about being an empty nester. Has she talked to Erica? Has she talked to Jennifer about this? Has this really been such a point of contention until Doreed walked away from you to go get a drink at a party? And now all of a sudden, well, my kid did something. They left the nest when they were supposed to. What about me, Doreed? Why aren't we all lifting each other up in the state of womanhood? And the more Sutton talks about her son leaving over the course of the episode, the more I'm like, are you upset or do you feel like you should be? Like, are you going through something or just did something happen? You know what I mean? Again, I understand your child leaving can be a very difficult transition, but it's not a bad thing inherently. It's a great thing. And maybe it's just because we really don't see her interactions with her sons really. Like, we barely see her children that Sutton really has always given emptiness or energy. Like, you know, not seeing her kids like presently in her seeds and stuff, it really makes me forget like, oh, you had a kid that just went off to college. Like, I wouldn't have even thought that had you not told me son. And I wonder if maybe Doreed feels the same like, oh, doesn't she have like, I've lived in this house alone for a long time vibes. But I say all that to say, your kid going off to college has nothing to do with you trying to force Doreed to apologize to Kyle for not speaking to her after Italy. That has nothing to do with anything. The two do not connect, I fear. So then Sutton says, well, you know, Kyle, you have things going on, you've got this wedding, that's crazy. Again, that's not, Kyle's not suffering through her first daughter's wedding. That's a positive milestone in a child's life. That's not like, like, am I supposed to hold your hand through your daughter getting married? Like, what? It's not a thing. Kyle then tries to make a point in a confessional about how she's going down the list of who Doreed has issues with. Amanda, Erica, Sutton, well, you know what they say, if you meet more than one asshole a day, you're usually the asshole. The hand of God, I've never heard that phrase before, not once in my life. If you meet more than one asshole a day, you're the asshole. Okay. Sure. Is that a point? Thank you, Kathy Hilton, though, for asking Sutton, why are you giving this so much importance? Exactly. And then she tells her, go back there and be Sutton Brown. You know, I love the Sutton that's like, you know what, I'm not leaving, no matter how much you want me to. Just go out there and stay, girl. What are you thinking about, you Sutton? You stay around. So the girls have like a little nice time on the dance floor, you know, it's really hard to catch a vibe because they're playing the worst royalty free music, like disco music possible. It's hard, you know, it's like you see the lavishness of a backyard in Beverly Hills and all the expensive clothes and the food and the ambiance. And then you hear like YouTube music. Just tough. Just, we could have cleared one song. Just one. Natalie hit a split in the middle of the dance floor. Thank God, Kyle was occupied and did not see that. Natalie, I don't think you're going to get an invite to the reunion. They filmed the reunion. Oh my God, the reunion looks. Oh my God. Oh my God. Go over to Instagram if you guys, you know, Google Real House size of Beverly Hills reunion looks. Swear to God. I took three seconds of a look at Amanda's dress and I thought, why was she dressing like a labia majora? Honestly, like if, I hate to be descriptive, but it just, it became so clear to me once labia majora clicked in my mind. I'm like, that's, she looks like a, like a pussy. She looks like a pussy. And her, and her head looked like the clitoris. Is she look like, if you were to look at like a side view of a, of a, of a pussy and then her head was the clitoris. And then the fabric going down her neck and her arm look like the, the majora and the menorah. I hate to say it, but I saw what I saw. Tell me I'm lying. And I'm like, God, again, y'all breaking news. Apparently it just dropped that last year. God bless her. You know, we're always keeping Kim Richards in our heart and in our mind and we're always wishing the best for her. Seems like since the last time we saw her, you know, the last time we saw her on the show, she was doing really well and actually facilitating, you know, Kathy and Kyle's relationship and was like really grounded. And then by the time we got to the reunion, you know, the caffeine Kyle didn't really want to talk about it, but clearly Kim has not been doing well for a bit. And that's very sad. So according to the news, initially Kathy and Kyle were helping her out and then they decided to take a tough love approach and be like, okay, girl, like if you can't keep it together, we can't, you know, facilitate anything. I guess Kim had been living in a property that Kyle owned last summer, I believe Kyle began the legal process to get Kim out of the home. So she basically was like suing her to get her out of the house. I think by the time all was said and done, and they came to the house, the authorities or whoever came to the house to kick Kim out, she had already left the premises and all her things. So I'm not really sure why this information was coming out now. I don't know if maybe it was like a slow news weekend. I mean, it's Coachella, I don't know, but yeah, that's the tea. It's a very sad situation. There was also a point in the article that suggested that Kyle was like charging Kim a fee for staying or something like that. Hopefully, like, okay, I understand if you're like, I have to put my foot down. I cannot like keep you in this home. You got to find somewhere else to go. Fair enough. I mean, would I say like, okay, you are Mrs. Agency, you probably have a lot of properties. Okay, no, but this is not my situation, not my family. I get it. It's a suing for me because like, we know that there is like a clear financial imbalance. So my hope is that the suing was more of just like an idle threat to get her out of the residence and not something that she actually like is trying to collect money from Kim on. Anyway, back to Sutton being a dork. She, Kyle tells Sutton to go talk to Doreed again. And when I tell you Sutton immediately goes up, interrupts the conversation that Doreed is having with some woman and is like, can I steal you for a second? And Doreed rolls her eyes and is like, I was so annoying. I'm going to hate you forever for this. And Sutton's like, are you for real? She's like, I mean, not really, but I was having a nice conversation and fun. Enjoying my conversation for the first time. So Sutton tells Doreed, you hurt my feelings and then Rachel came up. I mean, what did you want her to do? This is Rachel's party. Rachel told her, get your fucking ass up and dance. So she did. I mean, did she not want to have a conversation with you? No, but when you went to run to Kyle, you couldn't even remember what Doreed said that upset you. The point is, the thing that you were upset was that Rachel got hurt and she left. So y'all weren't really having a conversation. But anyway, Doreed reads her ass down. So let's just talk about it. And when Sutton's like, Rachel came up, Doreed tells her, but before she came up, I was listening to you and you gave me your opinion. Sutton says, but it wasn't that part. It was, you know, I was listening to your children's school story. And then as soon as Rachel sat down, it was like I didn't exist. And that really hurt my feelings. Doreed tells her, okay, well, I'm sorry. Your feelings were hurt. Are you? Sutton, I just said, I'm sorry. Well, it really doesn't feel like you're sorry. So I really don't know. Doreed goes, okay, what would you like for me to do to prove how sorry I am for someone coming up and talking to me? Sutton says, for our friendship, I need to tell you that you hurt my feelings and I was uncomfortable with that. And Doreed says, okay, you just did and I gave you an apology. So now what would you like in addition to the apology Sutton? Well, Sutton says, I don't understand. Are you mad at me because I needed to tell you something? And Doreed gets up and is like, okay, bye. And then she whispers weirdo. Doreed says in a confessional, 10 minutes ago when Sutton looked me in the eyes and had the audacity to tell me that I should apologize to Kyle for not having called her since Italy, I knew she's gone. And I don't have to tell her and I don't have the patience for it. So Sutton's standing alone, alone again, naturally. Like, well, Doreed just lost her mind. That went splendid. Thank God. Rachel's son, thank God for Kias. Third on the call sheet in terms of importance for this season for me anyway. Rachel tells everybody, everyone who's a Virgo, come stand next to me. Amanda's like, really? I can really stand next to you? Like, yeah, Amanda, you can stand next to a cake. Xander, remember that guy from the Hamptons that was in that band called Mojave Sun? Maybe. Rachel's got him here singing Happy Birthday. No shade to Xander, but it was just very much giving Taylor's birthday party where that guy Ace from American Idol was there. How do you forget the key to Happy Birthday in the first few seconds? That's my question. I'm not going to say who messed it up, but it was the person who has a microphone anyway. So after the party, we're back at home. Sutton calls mother, Reba on FaceTime and talks about Italy and how they were watching some singers. Reba immediately goes into a very operatic little diddy. She said it was Puccini. Sutton seemed terrified. But Sutton then tells Reba about Doree and how Doree's not been very nice to me lately and her behaviors really changed a lot since the beginning of the summer. Reba says, you know something? After your father died, I was pretty upset. So that might be where Doree is right now. Like, she's going through the motions, but she's not really in touch with how she's coming across to other people. Sutton's like, hmm, trying to piece together the connective tissue between what happened to her father and what's going on with Doree. But then Sutton goes, well, she was short with me the other day and it really hurt my feelings. And Reba goes, are your feelings really that shallow? And Sutton goes, yes, mom, they are. I'm tired and my son just moved across the country and she didn't ask me about that. And then Reba takes up for Doritigan and says, oh, she didn't really mean it. So then Sutton goes, well, Doree's writing her memoir and Reba goes, oh please. So then Sutton says, well, she's having a party even though she hasn't written the book yet. So I'm calling it a photo launch party. And I don't want to go. And Reba says, well, don't go there. So then Sutton tells Reba about how she really hasn't settled into the quietness of an empty home yet. And then she says in a confessional, I don't really know what it feels like yet. Like, I see that it's empty, but I don't know if it's really registered that it is. And this was, I guess, the sticking point for me. Like, okay, if the home is empty, I mean, you don't have to wait to feel bad. What is that? What has to register? Like, it can just be. Like, maybe your home is empty. You were expecting to have all these big feelings. And they didn't come. And it's just really not this big thing. Is that okay? Sutton needs to go talk to Heather Gay. Her sole, solo storyline this season was about how she was practically counting down the minutes until those girls got the fuck out of her house and into those college dorms and counting down the seconds until they absolutely had to come back, even though she didn't want them to. She was thrilled. Sutton does ask Reba, when does the empty nester feel and start? And Reba's like, I don't know, five, 10 years. Then Reba tells her, you know, you're a Sutton. You're a mother, but you're also yourself. Go figure it out. And then Sutton is like, thank God I've got my store. Great. Thank God. Moving on. Erica goes over to Rachel's house. Doreet comes up pretty much immediately. And Rachel's like, oh my God, we have to talk about that. So Erica asks Rachel, what do you think? And Rachel says, here's the thing. For me, in terms of Doreet spending money or the shopping, we all fucking shop. So it's hard for me to be like, wow, she spends so much. And then Erica says, but here's the thing. When we go through a separation or break up, the first thing that everybody thinks about is money. And Rachel says, and I don't, because my situation is different. That's just not where my mind goes. Like, I got money in the bank. Erica, I was not dependent on a man. So I'm not really thinking about where the money's going because it's my money. Oops. So she tells Erica, my thing is I don't want to judge about the spending and her lateness is something that I think she's got to work on. Erica says, but it's not just I'm late. It's like, is it time management or do you just not care about anybody else? Is it that you're mad at everyone? Rachel says, well, what do you think? Is it just being overwhelmed? And Erica says, well, I can presume the marriage is coming apart and she's overwhelmed with her kids. So Erica says in a confessional, I can only imagine what Dorit's going through. And PK has got all the tactics and he's stalling and he's got her whipped up in old frenzy and he loves it. Okay, so if you guys know all of this, why are you sitting here calling a manic and questioning her spending, questioning her lateness? Things that Dorit has been the most consistent on since she got here. Yo, we were having questioning Dorit's spending and finances with PK. So why all of a sudden, I mean, I've been saying like, I feel like Dorit is probably more financially stable now in that season of Beverly Hills than she probably was when she and PK walked onto this show. So I just don't know, like, why are we pocket watching? Why are we so positive that, I mean, I mean, I mean, did they file for pre-foreclosure? Yes. But again, I just don't know why we're like extra worried now. And it really just does feel like Kyle and Erica, mostly Kyle, but like Erica has also taken up the mantle of like trying to find something. But if it's really that deep and you guys could acknowledge that something deeper is going on with her, then why aren't you giving her a softer place to land? So Rachel tells Erica, I think as Dorit's newer friend, I'm going to have to go a bit deeper to make sure she's okay. And Erica says, yeah, I think she'll shoot. I think she will respect you for it. So then Rachel says, I'm going to go to her book party. Are you going to come with me? And Erica says, I don't know. So Rachel tells Erica, I think that she's going to be more financially stable now. I think that Dorit would kind of expect Kyle to not to come. But if you don't come, I think it's going to be a thing like she'll be incredibly crushed. And Erica says, yeah, she'll probably be mad at me. So like, do I call her up? I should have to. So Erica says a no show would not be fair because it's immediately going to come off like I'm siding with Kyle. And Rachel's like, yeah, she will put a pin in that, shall we? Lael takes Bose for like what Bose thinks is going to be a mommy daughter dinner date turns into private room surprise proposal. Family and friends are there. Keely's mama's there. I'm happy for both. Admittedly, I did get very distracted. When Keely got down on one knee, he opened the ring box in his direction, like ring facing him. And they did a tight shot on it. And I wonder if they asked him like, hey, can we just do this so we can get a good look at the ring and then you could just actually show it to Bose. Or like what I would just be curious about the timing of that filming. Why did he do that? I'm happy for you, Bose. Oh, mazel, she says in a confessional, I feel like lightning has kind of struck because I had my love. I had my proposal. I had my marriage. You know, and I just didn't really think that I was going to do it again. And here I am. And me and Lael and Keely all have already come become a family unit already. This just makes it official. You know, I want to get married, move in, get pregnant. You're still trying to get pregnant, ma'am. I mean, you know, it's like one of those things where like your body, your choice girl, but like, let's make safe choices. I just want the best for Bose. I really do. Kyle's at home. She's got a salmon sperm facial settling into her face and really just taking in the moment because we're four days out from Alexia's wedding. Honestly, as much as I don't typically care about like a heavily influenced child storyline, I would have rather gone through every minute detail of Alexia's wedding rather than a lot of the things that Kyle talked about this season. Like it seemed like she we were on a good run. Like she was being a little bit more open, a little bit more transparent about a past relationship and her feelings about Mauricio. And then like we just like completely left that no feelings about it. And honestly, like this is Kyle Richards, like Kyle mother Richards mothering was her job, her life's purpose. And it is interesting that we didn't see more of like her emotions or whatever about Alexia getting married, especially when she's still trying to figure out what the fuck's going on with Mauricio. And yeah, that would have been so much more compelling. And then what we got was her picking it to read. But anyway, Kyle uses her assistant to be like, you know, I'm just going to text to read because I feel like I can't make it to her event to this night. So I it's like a few hours out and her assistant's like, yeah, you know, and you've got the wedding coming up like you're busy. So Kyle says in a confessional, I have defended Doree. I've been in her corner. I've been supporting her all of these years. But like, why are you mad at us? And to be honest with you, the flashback of Kyle like being there for Doree all over those years wasn't like that great to be honest. We were talking about like Lisa asking to read or people doing coke in your bathroom and then Kyle having to be like, Lisa, that's an unacceptable thing to say. Or Sutton saying like, well, sorry, you know, I didn't have a gun to be ahead like the season that Doree had that traumatic break in. Like those were things that are like, yeah, girl, you didn't have a choice. But to be like, that was a fucked up thing to say. So like, I can't really give you that many kadoos for that girl. You know, one hug on the beach telling Doree, we'll get through this. Okay. But here Kyle is she just feels very tit for tat. Very tit for tat. Well, if Doree doesn't recognize all the things for her, then why would I do anything for her? Especially what just happened. Okay, we'll just leave it at that then. Then we see Amanda at her house, you know, brokeie. I'm sick of this husband. Because he got nothing to do but shuffle around this house and get sassy. Now, has he met any of these women? No, no, listen, I understand you want to have a little key with your wife and you're her biggest supporter. And you know, like she's being shady, you're going to be probably shady back. I feel like I don't know, man. Can you like clock in every scene of this man? He's being mad. Sassy is a little extra, but she tells her husband, I wasn't going to this party or this like book launch. He says book launch and air quotes. Oh, is it a book launch? And Amanda's like, well, I think you have to write a book to call it a book launch. I think it was more revealing the cover. But then she's like, you know, I feel weird because I'm not obligated. I don't owe her this, but there's just a little piece of me that's like, just be the woman that supports women. Though Amanda says in a confessional, Doreed has been horrible to me. She's made my summer very hard, but I want this for her because I want Doreed to have another stream of income. I am happy for this woman who made my summer absolutely terrible. So then Bose face times Sutton. Sutton tells her I'm not coming. Yeah, I understand that she's under stress. I want to cause more problems. So then don't grow up and don't cause problems at somebody's event. If you understand that, and you basically are saying you have such poor impulse control that you couldn't help, but potentially, and we don't know this is bullshit. Your best excuse is that you have such poor impulse control that you couldn't possibly be at her event and not ruin it. Is this what you're saying? But Bose tells Sutton, do you think that there's a point where you can just talk to her about this? And Sutton goes, yeah, but I don't want to ruin the friendship that we have built. And I think if I went and supported her, it might injure things further. Hi, I'm Paloma Faith and my podcast Mad, Sad and Bad is currently being sponsored by Magic Radio. So then, Sutton says in a confessional, I've been doing a lot of work on myself this year and part of that involves respecting myself. And I've also worked on being non-reactive. And I think if I go to this party, I might find myself in a very reactive position. So Bo sells Sutton. You know she's going to feel a way if you don't come, right? And Sutton's like, well, I'm very vulnerable with my feelings right now. So Bo says in a confessional, this is not a good look. The very least she could do is show up to support her. Why can't you just show up, drink some champagne and leave? I have some hors d'oeuvres if you want to pay for them. Go ahead. So the episode ends with Dereet's book cover, launch party, and Rachel shows up. I am on fire right now. Look at my purse, Dereet. It's a Chanel beaded bang that emulates one of those hotel, like, do not disturb signs. So it says please do not disturb. This is me. I brought this intentionally. Dereet, literally I was getting dressed maybe an hour ago and my phone starts blowing up. You know I don't follow my ex. And they were all like, did you see his social media? So Dereet asked, what did he post? And Rachel says, so the girlfriend's birthday is the day after mine. And he put, happy birthday to my love. And so one thing that I've clocked is that Rachel loves that Dereet. And both of this too, is that Dereet is good for a reaction. Like she knows that a girlfriend comes to her and she really likes that girl. She knows that be like, I'm going to give you exactly what you need. I'm going to meet you where you are emotionally. And so Dereet's like, for the world to see. Just out there for the world to see. And then Rachel talks about how this girl was born three days after me. And Virgo want to be stylist. Sorry. I forgot to say the girlfriend has responded to this. She's not happy. So the girlfriend, Roger's girlfriend's name is Brea Jacoby. She said, since so many of my friends reached out, I want to set the record. She didn't say straight. I want to set the record. One, my birthday is September 2nd. One day after her. Now three. Now I will say that on the show, Rachel said she was like two days and then maybe she said three. Girl, that wasn't the part that mattered. But anyway, two, we have been dating for almost two years. Three, I'm actually a business woman who happens to style, not a celebrity stylist, but you do you girl. Respect. Four, leave me the fuck alone. Five, what's so insane? You didn't want to be married and you said it yourself. You wish you left seven years ago. You're acting like a jealous woman. I'm not going anywhere. I'm not going anywhere. So get used to it. And then another one that says this was all filmed a year after me and R. I met the kids a year after dating. She knew for months. So stick of her storyline. There you have it. You want the truth? I'll give you the truth. She's a great actor. Okay. So. Okay. Is that not what Rachel said? This was filmed a year after me and Roger Roger, right? So yeah, didn't Rachel say in the Hamptons, it had been a year since me and Roger decided to break up. Now, I probably wouldn't have mentioned that part because Rachel was like, I think there's been some overlap between me and Brie. So you establishing the timeline probably was not the best idea. Now listen, I will say Rachel probably did a little too much on this one. It's a little bit like, well, I mean, what was the expectation? Was it a shot fired at you? Can we say I don't know? Not necessarily. I mean, at this point, this was the established girlfriend. Now, if this was a situation where this was like a two month long relationship and here he is my love, my love, happy birthday, my love. Sure. But also like it's not really her fault that she was born after you, you know. So can we really say that this was like a huge shots fired at Rachel? I don't know. It's unclear. So Jennifer shows up to Doreet's event. Bose shows up. Jennifer shows up. Amanda shows up. Amanda actually looked cute. I could almost excuse that she wore a hair clip, but the dress was cute. I will say that. Jennifer Tilly is being so nice. She's palin it up with the publishers and telling them how lucky they are to have Doreet as a client and how exciting it's going to be to have people hear Doreet's story and letting people know the parts of her that people haven't heard about before. Jennifer says in a confessional, I'm very proud of her. I love that she's having this sort of ceremonial gathering. Which is a very nice way of saying this is not a book party. Like, look, I'm on my way. Usually when you're writing a book, the last thing you do is to cover it. So she's doing it a little bit in reverse, but you do you. So Amanda tells Rachel and Bose, I don't think Kyle's coming. And Bose says, well, Sutton just called me. She says she's not coming. So Doreet tells Jennifer, I just had three people cancel on me all of a sudden. Jennifer says, well, I know Natalie's sick and Doreet says, oh yeah, Kyle's tired and overwhelmed and Sutton just wrote me. And she holds up her phone. After much thought, the last few days, I've decided not to attend this evening. And we have a special night tonight and the way things went at Rachel's birthday party, I just think it's best I stay at home. So Jennifer says to Doreet, do you think maybe you spoke a little sharply to Sutton? Did anything else happen? And Doreet says no. But then Doreet says in a confessional, the only thing consistent about Sutton is her inconsistency. How many times do I have to let Sutton show me that she has no compassion for me? So then Jennifer asks, is Erica coming? And Doreet says to my knowledge, yes. But then the episode ends on Erica knock, knock, knocking on Sutton's door like, hey girl. Girl, like this is Doreet's company. So Sutton says to the confessional, I know this looks real bad, but we did not plan this hand Bible. I did not know that Erica was not going to go to her party at all. How did you not know that? Where did you think she was going? If she was coming over to your house? You didn't ask her at some point. Are you not coming to Doreet's because I'm not going? Well, it did. Okay. None of y'all could have said something a little earlier. Erica, how did you film a whole scene saying, I know Rachel's though. I'm fully aware that if I don't say anything, it is going to be bad. And so I probably should. And then you're like, well, I haven't even said anything. Well, Sutton tells Erica, I just texted her that I'm not coming. Oh, I haven't done any of that. And Sutton's like, oh, she's going to be mad. I have to end on a comment that I saw from at Sasha is your mom. Just two Georgia hags hating on the bitch from Connecticut with the South African accent. When I tell you that fucking killed me. Oh my God. Thank you guys so much for listening. Cannot wait to see what happens in the finale. Thank me for speaking. Love you. Bye.
