Summary

The Glass Cannon Podcast continues their Shadowdark RPG campaign (Episode 12) where the party pursues a werewolf into a cave system to rescue two kidnapped children. After discovering ancient dwarven ruins and encountering a transformed woman who was also a victim of the werewolf curse, the party engages in combat while the cave collapses around them, forcing a desperate escape through narrow tunnels with the rescued children and an injured NPC.

Insights
  • Tabletop RPG mechanics like ammunition tracking and resource scarcity create meaningful gameplay tension when thematically integrated into the narrative, as demonstrated by the party's food shortage driving decision-making
  • Character death and turnover in high-difficulty games like Shadowdark creates different player psychology—players pre-emotionally prepare for character loss, which paradoxically can lead to riskier play when excited about backup characters
  • Collaborative storytelling benefits from establishing clear procedural rules (like NPC turn order) early to avoid repeated clarifications during intense moments
  • The 'rule of cool' in tabletop RPGs—allowing creative solutions like embedding silver coins in wounds—maintains player agency and creates memorable moments that mechanical strictness might prevent
  • Virtual tabletop tools with system-specific automation (like Foundry's Twilight 2000 integration with ammo tracking and dice mechanics) reduce cognitive load during complex combat scenarios
Trends
Increased adoption of virtual tabletop platforms with system-specific automation features for specialized RPG mechanicsGrowing emphasis on resource scarcity and survival mechanics in modern tabletop RPG design as core gameplay driversShift toward 'rule of cool' adjudication in actual play podcasts, balancing mechanical fidelity with narrative satisfactionSubscription-based content models for actual play shows becoming standard industry practice with exclusive behind-the-scenes contentIntegration of environmental hazards (collapsing structures, water damage) as active combat elements rather than passive set dressing

It's like how else could he make six weeks salary last forever? It's like I don't want to spend six weeks on my salary. I thought it was a good pitch. I was drawn in. Yeah. Your energy was fantastic. And I haven't done this in two months. We have not been in a room together in two months. We were actually we did the we were in Philly, but like we have never recorded this show. Right. We watch it every week. Two months. Right. So it's yeah. So we don't remember any of the story or the characters that are involved in it. Or the rules. What rules? What's Matthew's character's name? Rex. That was close. That's not. I'm going to go with Rex. You're not far off. Rex. Rex. What's Sidney's character's real name? What's Sidney's character's real name? I was thinking about this the other day. Actually today. You're stalling. And I don't remember. I was on the channel and I was like wait a minute. Excuse me. No. Zero. His real name. Real the name. His real name. Yeah. It was it was. It was too. It's not. It's not. It's not really. It's not many feathers tongue that somebody else. Okay. I order Merpennycock. No. I got it. All right. Leoric Beckett. Beckett. Leoric. Leoric. No one just knew it. No. No. Can I be honest? Can I be honest? Can I be honest? When you said that, I went his real name. I said. Wow. I went to my notes because I was like, I know he has a real name, but then I couldn't. I had two in mind that I really wanted. And one, I've used. Like I used it for something in a live show where like Android's in passing, but I like used the name and I was like, fuck. I can't use the same name. So I picked Leoric and I was looking into old English names and stuff. And Beckett is like a classic. And I liked Leoric because it's the lion is where it comes from. And I liked that. What's kids characters name? Hero. All right. Okay. Warwick, Ellison, Pharaoh, Alison. Oh, yes. I mean Rex. Rex. Sorry about my movie Rex. I was like, did I? It's an absolute stud this guy. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. Rex. We call him back at the village. What's everybody's last names? Oh, I did say my last name out loud. There's one. There's one. Anthony. Wow. And Ellison's. I can't believe you remember it's black. Rex. Rex. Wow. That's where he got the Rex from. I did think we did make a conscious. It seemed like we all made a conscious decision to honor your pseudonym. Like we all, it was all revealed to us. We still called you saying. Yeah. All right. Quick swimming rules for Shadow Dark. I have a. I have a. I have a. Yes. I have a. The rule is yes. Yeah. It's two months. That's a long time away. Strength, check and rough water. Concheck each round. You hold your breath. That sounds good. That's a. I'll take one D6 damage. So you've been looking this up because swimming today. Oh, I was just looking up a rule. Are we swimming? Are we swimming? We can take it a dip. Did anybody else really miss playing Shadow Dark? I was. Yes. I played it multiple times in the last two. Yeah, we played for fun. We played for fun in the last two days once. That was really fun. That was super fun. We guys got together and played a game. Yeah. Yeah. Nice. That was fun. Yeah, right. Together on Christmas. We all did the pure random, like no prep generation. Yeah. It was so funny. It was fun. It kicked our ass. Yeah. Yeah. It's so hard. We die. Well, no, nobody did well. Rob. Said the wrong way. Rob did go unconscious multiple times. He kept begging to die. Yeah. Because he had to eat. He had to eat. He had to end up with a shitty as character. He was so bad. And he got knocked out. He was just like, please. Just let me die. So I can come back with a new character. We kept insisting on saving his life. He was like, no, please. Please let me die. He and our first character. It was like, no, man. That's so fucking funny. We should have living wills as characters live. We really should. Yeah. Every time we die, they fall out of our pockets. Pick them up. Oh, it's will. Well, it's good to be back. We'll see what we remember. We're going to shake the rust off a little bit. But, uh, it's ready. Stay tuned after this break. We're back with more Shatteredock. Ready to launch your business? I haven't heard my dulcet peanut butter enveloped voice in a while, I guess. You know who else hasn't heard it? Us sponsors! Thank you to Foundry Virtual Table Top, the best in the biz. Best in the biz. Of course, our other sponsor, Norse Foundry. We're not rolled to die in a month and a half. If I could shout out Foundry on something. And I also want to mention this because we haven't mentioned this on the show. The last time we were recording, we had no idea that we were going to start a Twilight 2000 campaign show on the subscription service. And we have since done that and the Foundry tools are amazing. Oh, they're so badass for Twilight 2000. Because they're all officially made free league. Makes them. Oh, that's nice. They have the actual dice. They have the actual dice. They have the Twilight 2000 dice. And so, yeah, we're doing it all virtual. All click because it's a die hit across the screen. Because you roll a lot of dice in that game. It's a like they do all the math for you and they do all the modifications for you. It pulls ammo out of your weapon for you when you shoot fire. That's fun. And then it lets you know that you go to click on your weapon and a red thing comes up. This weapon has no bullets in it. Yeah. And you're like, go! I need a round of reload. Anyway, great stuff. So cool. Nice, nice. Ammo tracking. Have you liked you a big ammo tracker? Well, usually no, I despise ammunition tracking. But Twilight 2000 is a poor part of the game because like you can literally run out of ammo and have none and you can't shoot for a while. That's part of that. That's a huge part of the game. That's a huge part of the game is scarcity. So it's open world survival. Not sure it's true. It's not true, but tracking the game. But in that it's like, I mean, that's. Can't really recover your bullets the same way you can recover arrows. No, no. You can't like sort of hand wave it. Like that's a big deal. Oh, I found like a casher like there's like this guy dead polo soldier in nine rounds of 762 ammunition on him. It's like you're like, oh thank god. Yeah. It's a big part of the game. You find like a bullet farmer. Like a bullet farmer. Oh yeah. The bullet farmer. Yeah. Only organic bullets. Well, welcome back to this show where we track rations among other things. It's been a while. So I want to leave it to you guys as to who's going to do the recap while I prepare your bottle caps. I feel like there's been an episode where I didn't give these out. Let's do two. Let's do two. It makes sense to me. Yeah, I agree. I remember if you have, are you any of me maxed out? I'll be maxed out at three once you give me mine. Zero. Oh boy. All right. Thank you. I would be maxed out if you gave me two more, which you should feel free to do. Okay. Fair. Who's feeling good about the recap? I have my notes pulled up. I feel good about that. Okay. Well, just of the last episode. Yeah. So yeah, last episode we continue on the path trying to follow where we think these kids were taken by the werewolf. And this is named. So Marin and Barnaby are the children. We're trying to save these damn kids, but the werewolf is well ahead of us and has disappeared into a cave system. We go down into the cave system and tagging along with us are a few NPCs, a merchant caravan that we saved from captivity of a cold and we're trying to get them back to town, but we're dragging them through here to try to save these kids. Our name quest, Regina. We have Regina. Yes. But now it's complicated. Also in re-listening, I think mistakes were made and I'm not sure we should be doing this, but it's too late. We are deep. Obviously, we should just go back to town. We should 100% not be doing exactly. Oh, oh, yeah. So here we are. How could we know? How could we know that we would be this deep into a cave system now? So now we're deep underground and most recently we encountered the John's thing, the the mosquito, the giant mosquito-esque bat-sized things in the cave and there were a ten of them and we fought a harrowing battle where Pharaoh went down and Rex had to put us all to sleep and we barely escaped with our lives. So we did kill a few of them and then we were managed to execute seven others. But then we rested, got Pharaoh back and we headed deeper into the cave the next day. So we were fully rested. Spell should be refreshed right now. Everybody should be good. We did use our last rations. We should have no food. I saw it. No, I still have rations on my sheet. Perfect. I was worried we didn't have food and then we descended deeper and came across what seems to potentially be an ancient dwarven city. You're right. We don't have rations. We have no rations. An ancient dwarven city underground maybe. We saw a pillar, a broken down pillar, but then we saw the statue of a dwarf in examining this statue. The statue came to life. Not came to life. The mouth began to move mechanically almost and it began to speak. And that was the very last thing that happened. And we also, we saw a moldy coffer with dwarven ruin coins in it. Yes. And we got an XP for that. We got some gold. We got some gold XP right now. Let's take a dark to shape. And Warwick tried to read a plaque in St. Tried to read it too, but right as we were going to read it because I think St. Knows Dwarvesh or somebody knew Dwarvesh. I think St. Taz, but I'll look at that. But just as we were going to read it, the statue started to open its mouth so we didn't get to read the plaque and we don't know what the statue was saying. And it began to speak. Matthew, 12 episodes in. You've realized something mechanical about your character Rex. Yes. That was about a old Rex. In real time, I realized it several months ago, but we haven't recorded it since then. Because we're trying to get ahead before the end of the year. But yes, so as has been oft pointed out in various platforms. Is it so painful to record ahead? Yes. Then then know the thing you did wrong and then just watch months of it, airing with you. You know what I'm saying? And you sit in there being like, this is the way it is. And you're watching yourself just like. I'm feeling like. Happened recently on Legacy too. Isn't that right, Skyn? Yes, it did. That was. Congratulations. Thank you. Feels good, doesn't it? So good. So Magic Missile the Spell is always cast with advantage. I believe it is the first line of this spell. Not the last line now. That's a new one. We don't read this first one. No, no. And I had a talent in Game Me. Pendulate me. Going too far on the other direction. I only read the last line. So I had a talent that gave me advantage on a spell of my choice. So I think actually what happened was I was making up my sheet during our session zero. I wrote advantage under Magic Missile because that was the text of the spell. Not the talent. It was like, oh. Sophie's choice between the other spells. I can't decide. I'll decide later. And then when I came back to my character sheet, I guess I decided. I guess I decided. I didn't even think about it. So yes, so I have advantage on another spell. I'm going to give it to sleep. Now we go. Really? Strongly disagrees with this. Well. Yes, we did. I don't know if I strongly disagree. But I, I, I, I gently disagree. Not with the doors. Yeah, I argued in favor of sleep because while it will only be useful for a certain amount of time, there's no guarantee that we'll ever get to the point where it will cease being useful. Right. And for the meanwhile, it's way more useful than Major Armor is for the purpose of. Yeah, I give that to you. That's your only one. Your argument was Major Armor would be evergreen. Whereas eventually I'm going to start. If Ellison survives, I'll stop casting sleep. Right, right, right. In fact, very much. Yes, but I, I'm, I'm really going to guess this. This good argument is a very good argument. Like you might not live to ever cast Major Armor enough. So and sleep has saved our butts, you know, sleep at, we had advantage all but guarantees. Shut up. Unless you make it to third level. Stop. Remember the Bores. Remember the Bores. Remember the Bores. It's going to be our chant. Bores were, I didn't put them to sleep, right? No, you tried and you succeeded and the Bores did not fall asleep. Yeah. It was the first time that it had. And I've cast Major Armor a grand total of zero times. Zero times. Yeah, because you have to cast it in the battle. And we're always in such dire straits. Right? What's the time limit for it? 10 rounds. Yeah, because we're used to it lasting all day. Yeah, or four hours or whatever. Yeah. And to take around to do this. It's like, yeah, I'm being assaulted by multiple sting bats. Yeah. Hold on. Hold on. I failed. It never seems like we don't seem to have a combat where we've got like two rounds where we're feeling it out. No, it's always like poking and cracking. Oh, here they come. Let's get ready. It's always like, oh, it's so warmed by something. Now, or this is episode 12, a dozen EPS classic, listen to our original campaign episode 12 was a real turning point in the series. But without spoiling too much, it was many episodes or more than 12, I'll say, before our character passed in past series. Do you feel you've reached the point of being so precious with your characters? You would be crushed if they were to die? No, I came in with the mentality that the turnover was going to happen with regularity. So I'm emotionally pre-prepared myself. I would be bummed, but like I feel similarly. I was like, this is the way the game is played. Yeah. Okay. I'm really fucking excited about my backup. Oh, right. Yeah, so I don't have that situation. So the point I don't have, I just have the backup excited about. Play fast and loose with that. That's always dangerous for me because if I make the backup, I get excited. Yeah. Like, yeah, my character takes some extra risks. Right. Maybe it's a good thing. All right. So you're in this room. You were assaulted immediately by almost a dozen sting bats. So you didn't have time to really explore the space as it were until you were out of combat. Who is providing the light right now? I believe we have two sources of light. The light spell and I think we have a torch. The torch. Okay. Should we start at the timer now? Yes, we should restart the torch timer. And I will say, St. Ken Reed, Dwarves, he does have Dwarves his language. So once we, maybe if it speaks to our wish or this plaque or anything else for future, but I know we're in media res of like it, opening it down. So you were reading it and I interrupted you with the, and the plaque was like obviously weathered away in a lot of ways. It was kind of hard to read and we were trying to start reading it when the statue began to move. Okay. Oh, yeah. So you get out of the fight and you realize that this room, unlike or really in a room, you're in a cave system. This chamber, unlike the previous parts of the cave, has fallen pillars and remnants of what looks like perhaps a room of some sort. And this is exacerbated by the fact that you see a statue of a, of a dwarven warrior on the far side of the room right near where the cave goes deeper. And so you start to think like, oh, there's, these are like ruins deep under here. And as you go to examine the statue, it begins to speak. So I imagine like as it begins to speak, you hear almost like a faint grinding sound from, from far below the statue. And maybe a sprinkle of dust and debris falls from the ceiling as if something deep, deep beneath the earth has shifted in some way in order to make this statue speak. So a little dust from the ceiling falls on your head, little pebbles, little rocks. It's best. It's pears. I think pant their insulation. Oh no. Really? I'm not supposed to let that touch your skin. And the statue says, and it's just like it's mouth is moving as these words come out. And the words are coming from deeper within. Stone remembers what flesh forgets and these halls remember too much. Once the forges of cardalume burned brighter than the sun, now only echoes and ash remain. And the deep below the deep, we traded our shadows for power and our names for silence. That was the beginning of the end. You walk upon the bones of our kingdom, tread lightly, lest you wake what was buried. Not all crowns are rot of gold. ours was forged from fear and it shattered all the same. Our legacy lies not in metal or stone, but in the emptiness where our voices once rang. Ask not why the gates are sealed. Ask what still waits behind them. And this voice, which would be far more impressive than what I'm able to deliver in this roleplay, it just sort of grines. I'll tell you something. That's not really good. It's deeper. It's deeper. It's more gravely. It's both human and inhuman in a way. What a bringing a guest. Praise the gentleman. James old. James old. The ghost of James old. But like it, it then just kind of like grinding happens again and the mouth seals. This is like a last recorded message. I think maybe even Saint being close says in dwarfish back to it. It wasn't common, right? It wasn't. It wasn't in common. I think he would say in dwarfish though back to it under his breath almost what waits behind them. What waits behind them? Why are you saying to it? And he looks up and he's still like was touching the plaque like he kind of froze in place. Nothing. I speak dwarfish. I thought maybe if I said something in dwarfish, maybe it would. I don't know. And he looks at the group. Ancient dwarven city. I don't know. This seems really... He clears his throat. Put his hand in his pockets. Are we doing this? Seems like a warning left behind for anyone that it's recorded in common. Speaks to us in common. Means that it is not for other doors. It's for interlopers such as us. I don't mean that. I mean are we... Are we following whatever it is this monster through this? Do we actually think it came through this dwarven city? Do we think it came this way? There's only one way. Troy is there only one path for us? Yeah one way out. And it's not sealed. It's just an opening. It's not a sealed door. One way out. One way out. So with the door, how is this like the mouth? There'll be like a chunk of ruins. But then it's been absorbed by the rock. So maybe this was one large chamber that has fallen to ash. But some pieces of it still remain. But the path forward is just more cave again. Okay. Pharaoh can I see your light? Crossbow. Right. Oh yeah. Here. And he wants to read the plaque. Only the plaque. Don't you have a torch? Did I have the torch? Why do you need two lights? I feel like we... We definitely said we should have two sources of light. I can hold it to that side. Why doesn't it get snuffed out? That's what happened in the last combat. But we may have not actually done it. But we said it. I would love to not hold the torch in combat because of bow and arrow. But I can hold the torch for now. Here take this back. I have a torch. So I would like to read the inscription if there is anything important. If it is in Dwarvesh, if it is in common. Yeah, it is in Dwarvesh. And it says, Morghum, Thalvark, Second Sentinel, Cardolum. Ha ha, cool. Huh. So it is like a grave marker. Monty Mel. What? Is it in Dwarvesh? Yeah, he tells the group. It is just his name. Second Sentinel. Second Sentinel, Cardolum. Who are where is the first? And he kind of looks around at the ruins. I mean, it could be any of these piles. Unless they took the old one down when they put this one in. Maybe they pass it on. It is a family position or something. Do you know what Cardolum is? Is anybody ever heard of that? Do we, do we know who I name as a person? No. No. And if you look at Regina, Brion, or Corvon, they're, you know, they just got their hands on my, I don't know, Regina's like, I mean, it sounds, it sounds Dwarvesh, but I feel like I'm pretty well read on my histories and I've, I've never heard of it. Hey, sorry Regina, can I talk to the group for a second? Can you and Corvon and Brion just stay there? Um, okay, like where? You know, hold this, I hand them the crossbow with the light. Okay, and I want to huddle up with, with Pharaoh, Ellison, and Warwick. Brion leans in. What's this? You do do this a lot. Like when NVC's are right there, you're like, I don't want them to hear what I'm doing. So I'm going to pull everybody aside right in front of them. We're going to see Corvon. We want 10 feet. We're going to say, all right. No. What are we talking about? Gang, crew, buds. 10 pals. Right, right, Rex? No. I'll close you on the stomach. Come back over there. Come back over there. All right. Um, he wants to talk to you guys. We don't have any more rations. Last night was the last of it. I checked my packs. We're in the cave system. We lost the track of the wolf. I can't find anything down here. Pharaoh, can you? Oh, I don't think so. I mean, Troy, we definitely seen no signs of the werewolf, where children tracks, right? Like they're gone. I mean, there are tracks, but they're of the children. You don't see children tracks. And we never did in the cave ever. There's all sorts of like little skittering animal tracks. I mean, we did see the setup that the wolf did to make us think that maybe a child. Like, we know that they've been here. Mm-hmm. But what's St. is trying to... You assume it's the wolf. Yes, we assume. We assume everything is the wolf. Yeah. That's the other thing. We are assuming. But St. is trying to get across the idea of... We don't have any food. We go further in a cave system that we don't know anything about. That seems like Dwarven Ruins. Does this feel like something we can do? With three other mouths to feed. I'll go hungry a night, but... So I think we could peek ahead a bit. I mean, and he's looking down this hallway. We also could be buoyed by the thought of the treasure. We just discovered, like, you know, a pretty significant treasure. Yeah. Yeah, that's true, but that's in the same way. By the same token. It's like, rich now. Why are we bothering with this? Let's go buy some food. Let's go buy some food. All right, sir. What say we... I want to peek into the next room. We've got to Regina and Brienne, because they're having a conversation. Oh. That was really rude. St. I don't know. I know, right? Like, why would you... They're only standing like 10 feet away. So... Keep talking about a werewolf. Do they even have silver weapons? I don't think they do. Why are we... Why are we doing this? Guys, James, are you... Do you think of the GN that's talking to us right now, guys? Both point to point, like, one person from our group, one person from the other group just happened to look over, make eye contact, really. We're wrapping it up. We're wrapping it up. I want to look in the next room. Yeah, I mean... I definitely want to look in the next room. I'm not opposed to turning around. So do I, Matthew. I mean, show... I think we go ahead until we turn around. Until we die. For the sake of argument, if we were to be line it back to... Back to town. Yeah. How many days is that? Well, we'd have to get lucky. It's like a week. I mean, we could try... I mean, we could push, right? Yeah. Not... Yeah. So we... I mean, like, with the hope that we get to town as soon as possible, and then... Oh, we can hope to get... We'd have to hope to get lucky with foraging and hunting, too. Yes. That's the other thing I'm rereading, falsely, by the ring. Mm. And that's one thing that a point that Eric Warren makes of them is like... Because they run out of food, too. Like, in that early part of the story. And he's like, oh, yeah, I could... I could hunt, like, I can forage. But that takes a lot of energy and time for me to do that. That is not us traveling. So it's like... That's... It's an exchange that we have to make. Let's take a look at the map here on... That's what I found in the virtual table top. So you have... You are somewhere underneath the world. Like, if this Cape system can... We're to continue and have another exit. You don't even know where you'd come out. But you did go... You approached the riverbank, went into a cave and felt as if you were descending deeper into the earth... Yeah. ...to the point where you've reached Dwarven Ruins. Um... It would be as if there were Dwarven Ruins in the Lincoln tunnel. Maybe there are. Just... You don't know there aren't. Right, I've never looked first line in those tiles. Robert Moses dug too greedily and too deep. I mean, that is true. You did. I'm just trying to see like, measuring distance here. You are... Um... You're pretty far from Marin's hold. And then, even if you were to recover the children, you don't know where Wardenwood is, but you assume it's somewhere to the southwest, which kind of forms a bit of a triangle with the lake finamine right in the middle there. Um... So yeah, you've got to... You're very far from everywhere you need to be. Yeah. But... You've... You've come so far. It's essentially six hexes from here to Marin's hold. I have the shortest path I can track. So... Even to leave now. Like, there's no good option. And I think ultimately, if we keep going through the cave, so be it, because even to turn back now, no children, we try to bring Regina back. It's still... Who knows? Who knows what could happen on the way back? Well, it's also... If we're going into a ruined dwarven city, this is one of the least likely places we would find food. That's the... Yes. That is the main issue, I think. Who it is, the big one. My purwares is sealed gate. Where is it? Did you not hear what it said? It said there's a sealed gate. Yeah, right. It's not... The sealed gate is not the point. We're not trying to find the sealed gate. It warned us. What was behind the sealed gate? Well, where's the sealed gate? Well, I asked it in Dwarven. It didn't answer. Do you want me to ask again? I'm just saying. Why not walk a little further ahead? And make sure we don't have to go within to the dwarven city. Right? We're assuming that there's no way the kids went into the dwarven city. I call Regina back over. I mean, Troy also makes the... The GM... The voice of the GM suggests also that we don't have silver weapons. Which we've talked about. We've known this all along. Yeah. But where we... The evidence we have against that is that Nelvin was able to... ...wooned... ...the wolf. Wooned it. Yeah, and it was hurt. It was bleeding. It was a couple days now. It followed its blood. Presumably, it's... It must have some way to heal itself. So... I don't know. It seems like there... It may not be only silver. I mean, that's my... That's... ...based on that evidence. But... Also, some of us made some assumptions about drinking from puddles. And I won't talk about who that was. And we don't have to bring it up. But it's like... Some of us are making assumptions. And we don't even know... You know what happens when you make assumptions? A lot of fun. Yeah, it is what they say. Yeah, that's the added... And I just think like who knows? It might not be a werewolf. It might be something else. It's just looking the next room. It's looking the next room. We're talking. It could be a five guys. Yeah. We should tell... Could you imagine? Could you imagine? Man, it's great. It's awesome. I don't want to believe in this. But I think Ellison is still very committed to finding the kids. But I mean, like, we don't have any food. Yeah, I'm admitted to finding the kids. And I think we could do a couple more hours. Yeah. We either see a sealed gate with no passage through. Or it's... We just started this day. We just got out. Yeah. And so we can go a little bit. Yeah, we can go a little bit. And if there's just nothing and no sign of them, we can hike out of the cave and look for food. And then if one of us dies, especially NPCs, we have food. Food. Exactly. And I can say you get food in a dwarven city. That's right. Except for that last party member. That last party, we can tell Regina and the Lansing Shires that's our plan. Yeah, we tell them. We are going to eat you. No, no. Yeah, they're in our way alive. We hope what if you dies so that we can eat you? They're in tough position, especially now that they're down a member with Nelvin's death. And that they don't feel comfortable or safe enough to just turn and head back. Otherwise, they would have done so already. So they're kind of tied into your journey. But now it feels like they're walking into their own death. So I think I think we can present them. Like we're going to check the next room. And then I think I don't want to belabor the argument, but you know what I mean. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think it made the end result seems like the consensus as we turn back over Alison's turn. Corbin, Brione, get your weapons. We're moving out. I understand. Like they would be furious. I would be. Yeah, what the fuck take us home. But this is what we got to do. So shut up. Okay. We will eat you. You walk past the dwarven statue. I think it perhaps says you do. Making your way deeper into this cave system. In this doorway, there were about to walk through. It doesn't look like a shattered cave, right? No, no. It's just another opening in the cave. Because to your point. The chunk of stone there that. I mean, this could be what happened with the glowing, right? It's good like the gate that was sealed could have been unsealed. Yeah, by... Yeah. The cataclysm. Or something before, right? Or something. Yeah, I'm just operating under the assumption that this is not the sealed area. Yeah, I agree. But that's why I make sure that I could be wrong about that. But I feel like we're going to see some sort of sealed. Or unsealed. Or unsealed, right? St. St. Well, I can continue to look, check for traps. Knowing that if this is a dangerous sealed area, we shouldn't be in. Perhaps there are things set up to countermeasure people entering. Okay. You enter the next chamber. And immediately it feels different from what you've seen thus far. While some of the walls are still craggy and jagged and very cave-like in nature, many more bear the marks of expert craftsmen, stone masonry. The remains of three pillars are in the room. Two of them still going all the way up to a ceiling that still bears the... It's not just a rock up there. There's stones. You could see parts of a ceiling that once was, and perhaps a smaller grand hall. One lying shattered on the ground, just like you saw in the previous room. But also on the ground, you see these child-sized bed rolls made of fur and animal hide. You also see these crude toys made out of bone and twine. And all along the walls you see spiral patterns. And symbols like that scratched into the stone or drawn on the stone reminiscent of exactly what you saw in the bone cave. Who has the torch? I do, and there has light. There has light. You have the torch. The torch light is flickering to the point where maybe you can't even see the ceiling in certain parts. You can see where the pillar reaches what's left of a ceiling, but other parts of the cavern you. The light doesn't even extend past there. But as you enter the room just at the edge of the torch light, you see the silhouette of a woman. Intattered, filthy clothing. Just standing alone in this unlit cave. You can barely even see her. You neither see nor hear any trace of the children. And she speaks, she says that's far enough. Pull out my sword, shh, hold it down on my side. Hold in the torch. Please. Don't make me hurt you. I do not wish to trade harm for harm. But by the light of the moon, I will take mine. I will take mine if that is what is necessary. Turn back now. One none of you. None of you will survive. Where are the children? I will not lose them again. I will not lose them again. She showed me how to survive this pain, and she was right. I will not lose my children again. They have already been quickened. It changes inevitable. Who? Who showed you? Who's she? The woman. Very wise woman. She told me, she told me away, and there are more children. There are more children. I can have my own, my own pack. I will go back there, and I will take more, and I will save them. She told me that I could save them from the sickness. I could save them. I may not be able to get the ones back that were taken from me. But I will make more. We know of a way to help you. We have encountered and made offerings to the goddess Tanya. She was able to help the children once. She might be able to help you. She granted us powerful wounds. We can take you to her. You brought my children to her? Yes. What did she do to them? She helped them. She helped us, and she can help you too. We see you're in pain. I'm in pain, and the Elisimal reach into his cloak. Very slowly, like he holds up his hands and reaches in, and he holds up. The drawing of his family, his wife and child. This is my child, my wife. They might be dead for all I know. I understand your pain. Yeah, dead. Yeah, dead. This is all my friends, and all my family, all I had was my children into those men and robes, tucked up. And I have nothing except what I've taken, and I will take more. And you hear a new voice start to emerge, and you hear bones start to creak, and this silhouetted form starts to grow a little bit and cast a longer shadow on the walls. I will never lose the garden. St. is going to very quickly drop the torch and extinguish it to put himself into darkness. You feel pieces of the ceiling. We're still in the light. Pharaoh has light. We're still in his light. A bit you feel pieces of the ceiling start to come down as her voice gets louder, and then like, my big junk falls right next to Pharaoh. And the negotiations have failed. Kill it! Oh, God. What are the children? You hear faint sounds of children crying from farther deeper into the garden. Run away! Run! Run to us! Run to our garden! I'm going to pull him in. Shoot it. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I'm shooting it. Roll for an inch. Oh my God! Oh my God! Roll, roll, roll, roll! Nice! It's been time with these characters. Let's be fun, guys. Oh, man. Oh, okay. That's interesting. Oh, no. You can't do it. I wrote something so interesting. It's only one of 20 things. I wrote something so interesting. Which of those 20 things? Rules for stud bokeh. It should be there. I got a flush. I got a street. Who thinks they got... I did. 18. I got a 17. I got a 15. I wrote a 1. Oh, oh. I got a 1 initiative. Great job, Joe. I'm sorry. What a strange system. You're cursed. You're kind of strange. Played with these rules and always sit in the same position. That's science seats. Yeah. Very strange. I would have tied you if I didn't have a minus 1 to my decks. Oh, right. I forgot to add my decks. So I guess it's 20. All right. I just said what was on the top of it. Yeah. You know what? I can tell you're a struggling with this. So let's give you a quick break. We'll be right back. It's frickin' hard to say. Certain dad. Project Hill Mary is the cinematic event of the year. We're just counting on you, Dr. Grace. Strong Ryan Gosling. I'm not an astronaut. Two worlds, one impossible mission. So I met an alien. Project Hill Mary. You are a bravest human I have ever met. I'm a little bit stupid. I'm a little bit stupid. I'm a little bit stupid. I'm a little bit stupid. I'm a little bit stupid. I'm a little bit stupid. He doesn't think that we can kill this thing, but maybe we can interrupt the process. So desperately, he's gonna charge at the woman and try to stab her. It's good and I had the same time our eyes went, woo! Yeah, I mean, yeah, I don't know. It's a bad situation. Okay, I didn't really wanna do it, but I pushed I didn't roll high initiative. Yeah, we all did things. We all did things. We all did things. We all did things. That's our final action on her. Bye, work. Okay, please roll to attack, Marie Creature. Yeah, I don't know what else to do. Yeah, do it. Do it. Do it. Just checking that your sword is not made of silver, right? It is, yeah, it's silver. Oh, okay. Okay, silver sword story. Silver sword story. This morning. Okay, yeah, he's gonna run up and try to interrupt the transformation. That is a 20. Ooh, to hit. All right, you strike this bipedal wolf-faced, humanoid woman covered in brown fur. The pieces of her clothing are now just kind of like clinging to it, almost done. And you've got up close enough that you see. I mean, you just see a wolf. Now, you don't see a woman. Okay. So I didn't interrupt anything. I mean, maybe it gets bigger. I'll turn that into a crit. Ooh, with a bob cap. There you go. Nice. And yeah, try desperately here for one good swing. Okay, we go. Oh my God. Oh my God. God, that's seven points of damage. Seven points of damage. You striker. I mean, where do you think you hit her? In the arm. The arm was like changing and he's just gonna try to like flop the arm off basically. Yeah, you striker, the weapon strikes her and it draws blood. But there's just like, it's almost like swinging at a wall in the sense that like you don't think you've hurt the wall, even though you've damaged it. Yeah. That makes sense. Yeah. Only silver weapons. Yeah, you've hit it. It's his eyes to go wide. Sulaight, run. Now, do you remember how we established how I deal with NPCs versus the creature as it is my turn? Do you establish NPCs go first? Whatever you want. I think you said NPCs usually go first. I said we needed to establish something and we basically did the enemies and then they went. At least that's what we did in the last fight. The enemies went and then the NPCs went before Farrak. So I think that that's wrong. I think the NPCs should always go before the enemies because if not, they should get a role if that makes sense. Yeah, yeah. Because they should always default to last in the order unless they're rolling or they could roll first. Yeah, I was just curious if we had set a precedent. In my mind, it was NPCs go first, but anyways, thematically right now it feels like they should go first. Hold on, let me just one more time reiterate why this should be the permanent policy logically. Because then if you don't roll for NPCs, they will always go after the enemies in every case. They will always lose around basically. Yeah, yeah. So it doesn't really make sense. They should go before if they're not gonna roll. If they are gonna roll, they can go after the enemy. Yeah. So they're like, it says if they're sitting between the two. They're sitting right here and they don't get a role because they'll always go last before the enemies. Right. And they won't always be NPCs, but it is a good Joe insurance policy to have NPCs around here. Ah! Ah! Ah! Alright, so I think that there's a, in this sort of fracas, they're looking to you like, what? Oh, did you get some, shall we attack it? Or go after the children? Regina's not gonna have to the children. He's gonna go after the children. I'll hold her off. Okay, so Rion and Corvine run past you towards the children. Regina just kinda like backs up. Like she's heading back towards the door of the place. She wants nothing to do that she's putting a wall of you guys between her and this creature. More chunks of the ceiling start falling as the werewolf woman howls. Ah! And she will attack you. Now what is the morning? There's no moon, so I'm like, what is this, is the chamber? We established something about her being able to do it at will. Yeah, so is the, we theorize. But is the chamber, it's Hulk rules, not moon night rules. But what I'm trying to say is she making the chamber fall? Like is it just our movements? I'm trying to understand like what I'm looking at. The first sort of chunk of stuff falling out, well actually it happened the previous room with the grinding beneath the earth. But now it was, it was her roar, her loud sounds that she's making seem to be affecting the structure of cave. She has two attacks, first one, who goes? Eight. Whoa! Hey, okay. Disadvantage. Oh, the second row. The second row. Okay. Because I might just run after this, right? If we like get the kids. All right, second row. Disadvantage would be a five. Okay, second row. Nice. So, goes to rend you. Blocks one with a shield, and misses and then. We can't, we can't hurt it. He's, he's calling back to you guys. We can't hurt it. Because he could feel his sword just do nothing. So he's like, back off. Hit the kids and run. Okay. We now go to Pharaoh. Okay, I have a feeling that this bereaved psychotic wolf mother is not gonna take kindly to us kidnapping her stolen children. Again. Again, but I'm going to fire my crossbow at her. You don't have any way to deal magical damage to you. Not at all. That 18. For 18. Teen is a hit. Five points of damage. So it hits her right between her shoulder and the arm that was damaged by work. Do you move it all? I am going to move away, but not far enough that they're out of the light. Okay. St. Okay. It's like sort of backing up like with the crossbow. Yeah. Have something I want to do, but it's so... Stupid? Yeah. Yeah. I can tell by your face. Yeah. It's stupid. It's stupid or inventive. It's inventive for sure, but it gets me in the mix, which is dangerous. There's a fine line between clever and stupid. Yeah, I always say there's a fine line between punching somebody in the face and making out. So it's sort of like along the same lines. That's another tactic we haven't tried. Get over here. Come here. St. is going to run at the creature and as he does, pull one of his daggers out and throw it to hit the creature, but keep running up to it. Okay. Following through with the attack. Okay, a little move attack move. I'd like to do an extra thing when I'm there once the knife is embedded if I hit. Okay. Well, let's resolve the hit and see... Well, let's have a conversation here. Like old friends. I called friends. Can I just... Okay. Cap that. Just do a little bit of a re-roll. Cap that's a jab. It takes right dice. All right, here we go. New die. This one has new die. Same numbers in the same position. Just gonna... Oh no. Oh no. Oh my god. Okay. Really? Two and two. I rolled the same... For a dagger that you know. Okay. I rolled this other plan with it. What? It's gonna do no damage. You know it does nothing, right? Yes. Okay, so it's for the other thing you have to do. Got it. Okay, I'm just gonna change the die again. Ah. Yeah, we do all have silver on us. Naxval 20. Okay. All right. Critical hit. So, which means I'm gonna... Definitely allow you to do whatever else you want it to do. I'll take... Do you want me to still double? Is there damage? Okay. Okay. Five. Okay. Points of damage. Got it. You got five, right? I'm gonna... I'm gonna send it. I'm gonna... Unbelievable. It just occurred to me we all do have silver on us. Well, so, same as he threw the dagger was sprinting reached into his gem bag into his coin pouch and pulled out like three pieces of silver. And when the knife lands in, he's going to follow through and push the silver into the wound and pull his dagger back out. That is extremely cool. That's what's winning. Make a ball cap back. Yeah. Yeah. Thank you. Thank you. I'll have four. Rule of cool. And, yeah, I mean, that is just crazy enough to work. It's like you're at the arcade. Yeah. Just putting the coin in and pulling the dagger out and pushing it into the open wound. Okay. Roll a... Oh, that's really cool. Roll 2D4. Okay. You just needed to make an opening. Six. Okay. Nice. All right, two... Ah! That like affects it somehow. And then all of a sudden... Oh, shit. Oh, shit. One of the pillars starts like cracking. You hear it cracking under the weight. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. Listen. Listen, it's like they are not yours and he's going to fire off a magic missile. Okay, little magic missile. Roll with advantage. Okay, I got it on the first one. Let's see if I got a crit. No crit, so I'm going to use the bottle cap to turn it. Turn it into a crit. Nice. Got it. That's going to be 2D4. Oh, my God. Okay. Seven points. Oh. Magic missile damage. Okay, okay. I got you. So wait, do we think magic missiles would hurt a warehouse? We'll see. That's my theory. Magic might be able to bypass it. Okay. Is it responding similarly to having a coin shoved into it? Yeah. Yeah. You should pull a coin out of your pouch and put it on the front of a magic missile. It's going. It's going. All right, so it reels back in pain from the match. Is it one bolt, do you think? Sure, it's two. It's two. It's one. It's one. It's one in a final spot. There you go. Okay. It hits her and she. The grunts. Yelps again. Grounds. Howls. And now you see that pillar is like bowing in one. Bowing inward about two collapse and it is war extern. Would you move? No, I'll stay where I am. And we're kind of in the doorway. I'll stay in the light. I'll stay where I am. Stay in the light. I don't know what kind of HP it has, but we just got to get to a morale check. Are we under the pillar? I just want to be clear. You're talking about this pillar. Are we in danger? Yeah, it's like something about the fall on us. I know. You can get out of the way. It's not like you're not watching, but you do see what happens when that pillar falls. We should stand in the doorway. It's the safest place to be. It's not true. It's true. I get an earthquake. It's a threshold. All right, Mark is just trying to buy time for the guys to get the kids. We heard their voices. Assuming that they're relatively close and not in the cage. He's just trying to buy time. He knows his sword doesn't do anything. Maybe St. Even says, this is over. And he pushes this, so we're right next to each other. Well, already fucking moneyed. Oh, my God, Killer. We just started, I don't know how he fucking moneyed. I'm calling, does have silver, but he's just like, The kid's gonna silver piece off this. That's right. I'll tell you what I want to do. I want to do something off script here. I want to take, I want to essentially do a shield bash, and I want to not offer script. I mean, I'm not doing a regular tie. I don't know any rules for this. I want to, I want to, I want to, I want to, I want to, I want to knock her to the ground with like my shield. I want to knock into her and like knock her prone basically and down away from us for a moment. It's just buy a little bit of time and reset. So create some space there. Putting you in harm's way from her because the best she can do is like, I do get up and run or get up and attack you. All right, so go ahead and give me a, that's pure strength. So give me a strength. I could argue for advantage on this because of my situation. What is your situation? A grit. You have advantage on checks to overcome an opposing force using strength, such as kicking open a door or et cetera. Absolutely. If you sell enough subscriptions of it to your friends and neighbors, you could win a bike. That is a joke for a very old subset of the audience. Well, three people, I have no idea what you're talking about, but I think I get the idea of it and it was funny. Look it up. I'm gonna have to look up grit magazine and it sounds dirty. I don't want to do it. Look it up. All right, advantage. Here we go. Okay. Okay, got a 15. That is going to be enough to barrel into her and set her off so that she falls prone. Okay, and then she is a rock. And then a rock falls. Yeah, a rock made of silver. Silver. It's a meteor. It was one chunk of silver ore that falls and crushes it. A meteor has happened to fall if they're cracking the pain. The most valuable meteor in the world. The history of the world. Okay, very interesting. So rock falls, you tackle her to the ground. I just knock her to the ground with your silver shield. And then I'm going to, yeah, geez. That's how we want to do. I'm going to impose myself between her and wherever the kids are. So this seems to me like going around the other side of her. So I'm just going to move to the other side of her to kind of guard the guys that are going back in there. Maybe she'll be drawn toward that and not them. I'm not sure. You're guarding the guys to give them room to escape. Yeah. Okay. All right. So on. What are we going to do? Do it fast. On my turn. You see Breon and Corvine emerge from the darkness deeper in the cave. Each with a child. Oh my God. One of them has Marin. One of them has Barna be. They're crying hysterically, but they, you know, it's hard to know if they've been harmed or whatnot, but they don't look, they don't look harmed. And by your conversation with her, it seems like she doesn't, she didn't know that you used something to like in your conversation with her. But she, what did you do? She already said they'd been quickened already. So you're, you're, you can deal with that later. It seems like they're fine. She might not have that hurt. She didn't know that they were curing you. Right. Right. Right. So we got to get them out of here. No matter who known to re-quicken them. Right. Right. Right. Right. They come running out with the children. She then, because of what you've said, is going to come and attack you because you're trying to give them. It's going to be the bull work here. Buy some time for the children. Um, so she stands up. Comes towards you. It feels like a double move. Well, it's a free to stand up. Standing up is free technically. Yeah, because you didn't. But I did use, you know, a whole action on it. Maybe there's a chance she's able to shake it up. Maybe only she can only do one attack or something. Yeah, or, or even disadvantaged the attacks or something. Oh, that's fun. Yeah. Um, all right. Here's what I'm going to say. I'm going to say she gets up, makes her move towards you, disadvantaged on the first attack. Okay. And that is a six. Okay. Okay. Uh, second attack is straight up. And that is a nine. Oh, dude. Roodle rolls. Um, all right. So she's just standing next to you and with wide eyes as much as the, as a wolf person could have. Wide eyes is watching these two men make off with her children. Regina on her turn, books it out of there. Sure. It is now, oh, about the wolf. Where's she went? Yeah. The pillar cracks completely and tumbles to the ground, falls inches away from where Breon and Corvin are holding the children. You've lasted two rounds. Amazing. Not two full rounds, but around 1.5. Don't say it like that. So far so good. Hopefully we won't kill ourselves until we get the show. Yeah. Sadly, the cave seems to be collapsing from this experience. So Regina's out. Rion and Corvon are still in this room running to try and get out. Pillar just crashed right near them. Stone falling everywhere. Dust clouds. Shooting into the room like stuff is falling in the other room and sending dust into this room. It is Faro's turn. Why, we'll fly. They're watching you. Nice. I'm not a fire. He's sitting on that one. Yeah. Oh, great. Oh, look at this. What are you? I'm gonna miss. But I'm gonna keep, I want to stay. I don't want to abandon Warwick in the darkness. So I'm just gonna wait until he gets out of there and then I'll follow him. Okay, so you stay in there with work. Very important. I'll tell you why. Why don't you start moving. Just start running. Because the idea is like we got a run. And I should be the last. I should be the last. Because this is the only, because I'm not like we said you'll have enough dim light to be able to see. Exactly. I can follow your light. Okay, so I'm going to like move away. Okay. Now do you think we, you said the stuff is falling the way we came. Yeah. Is it closed off or do we think we could like the cave is collapsing but we could run where you could. It was like your early option. Okay. Yeah, you do see, I mean, you don't see light but you do see what looks like a passageway forward as you shine with light you have. The cave is collapsing. Is that what Ellison is? It's the cave. Check it out. What do you do? The cave. St. Will. Yeah, I mean, he pushed the coins in. It's going to lose three silver. That's a bummer. But he. It's a bit of a reimbursement. Yeah. It's a bit of a reimbursement. I'll bring it to what's his name Marty. I'll bring it to Regina. Yeah, Regina's partner. Hey, I lost three silver in that where we'll fight. He'll have his dagger back and he's just going to like kick off and run as fast as he can back from where we came from. And just double move. Come on. Run as fast as he can. Okay. Ellison, one more magic missile. One more magic missile for all time, Sig. Okay, and I get it with a natural 14. Okay. You may have a ball cap. I do. I'm out. You can turn into a crit. Do you want, I mean, I will. It's up to you. How much 2D4? It becomes, it goes from 1D4 to 2D4. That's your last bottle cap? No, I have one more. I'll turn this in for a crit. One more? Yes. Use two. I'm going to give you one back. The economy. I'm giving back. Thank you, Sidney. Yes. Gift cap. Max. Eight damage. Eight. Wow. Worth it. I can't believe you rolled that. That's crazy. Eight damage, eh? Oh my god. Oh my god. Okay. Okay. Very interesting. Wow. Permanently dead. Nice. Wow. Feel the wearable. Yeah, you definitely killed the wearable. Um, alright. So you hit her with full force. And I mean, she likes staggers backward. Um, from the blow. And she's really hurt. She's really hurt right now. Um, you get those three silver back. Do you, do you that? You can buy silver. I have that eye turn on them. Okay. Okay. Just thinking this all through. Uh, work. Could I, uh, could we have the NPCs go before me? Like between Matthew and I? Just because I want to cover their retreat is all. Um, I mean, I don't think it makes much of a difference. The lay, you want to delay here and... Yeah, basically just, yeah. It's really just for the imagery. I'm not going to run out without the kids. It doesn't make any sense, right? Yeah, I'd say you, you can delay. That, that's fine. Um, so we'll have them run out. And then it goes back to you. And I'm going to run out and I'm going to be the last one. So like if she comes chasing after us, my shield is up. Okay. And I want to block her path to the, to the kids and to everybody else. You're standing between her and me. Yes, you're right. Yeah, Pharaoh's like the last one left him. You and I are probably about equal this and today. I'll move once. Okay. Right, so now the kids. Oh, you want to move. Now the kids are in front of you guys. Saints in the lead. Then, uh, I'm sorry, Regina's in the lead. Then Saint, then the kids, then you, uh, Pharaoh and Ellison and then... in the back. It's warring! It's this warring. It's warring. Okay. Oh my god, this is so intense. All right, so she gets up and she moves yet again to you. Imagine the heart, the rocks are falling down in this thing. It's just like, we're not out of the darkness into the light and leaps at warring. That was a good, notwithan, notwithan. Oh yeah, just, just, just, just, just, just, something about that movie. And, uh, we'll attack twice. I think it, can't get it. I haven't been running while. My luck is running out. run out. My luck is right. I mean the rolls are all below 10. They've got a turn and here it comes. It was sitting on that 20 and then went to a nine. Oh, baby. I mean this is just brutal. All right. It is turned back. I don't know what you're AC is. So this is going to be a 14. That is a miss. Oh my god. 14 is a miss. Wow. This is a shield, baby. So she just comes up to it. Right on this. She's holding it off. Sparks. Why not? Yes. Okay. You are now in the sting back room. The ruins of cardalume, whatever you want to call it, the walls are shaking. Stone is raining down from above. So I need everyone to make a check here. Okay. As you try to make your way through this room, you can make a dex check to try and dash through the collapsing stone, maybe an intelligence check to try and look up and predict where the stone is going to fall. Strength check to clear debris or brace out of the way to make room for people or even a wisdom check to sort of spot a door of an influence where maybe there's a a load bearing angle that might be the best way to make your way through. All right. I'm going to use my grid again. So I'm going to take advantage to use strength and just like move an obstruction out of the way to clear room for people. Okay. Yeah. Let me know what you're rolling and then roll it. Okay. So strength for me. I'm going to use aphorism to recall an appropriate aphorism that would guide me in the situation. That from there. And I'm going to spend my cap. Oh. Oh. I use intelligence and I got a 17. Okay. I might spend my cap. It's the last one. My last one. The last. I'm out. It's the last one that any of us have. But maybe I won't spend it. I rolled a three for a total of six for dexterity as I'm trying to avoid. Honestly, it's probably better to sacrifice your character than it is the last bottle of cap. That's not even a bad argument. That's the app. I just remembered that's a soul than a cap. I can't. It's better. It's better to just look around. There's a lot of life out there. There's only one cap. That's right. St. is also towards the front. So if he gets held up a little bit and trips and falls, I don't think it's like the end of the world. But the dead cost nothing. It's not good. It's not good. I spent Frank one. Okay. Okay. What? Let me ask you. Here's a 19. 18. 18. Here's one arm. Would you roll? I rolled a 20. Okay. Just a 20. 2017. All right. So. Fix. Here's one argument. Yeah. You're pretty far ahead. If we think that this is going to damage you and kill you, turn to the bottle cap. If you think it's going to slow you down, maybe it's fine. I think it's going to slow me down. So I'm okay with saving it because also we're not out of the woods. We're not out of the cave, literally. So like there might be way more that we have to do. We just have to create some separation. Maybe something will collapse between her and us. I mean, that's where we just get to buy some time. I think what happens is, you know, Saint is dropped his torch, didn't pick it up, is kind of in the dim light and is panicking and just loses his footing is trying to hop and move and loses his footing and just eats shit, can't get his hands out in front of him in time and just like smacks his face into the ground and gets almost like road burn, you know, like to road rash. So you're not really rolling. Yeah. You're like narrated what happened. I was like, you know, the result of the roll. A little story, bro. I'm scared. What do you, Matthew? What do you think? You're, you're pretty keen even killed. Good instincts. I think it's probably going to do some damage to you. Okay. So I think, you know, what's your HP? Six. So you, I mean, I'm guessing you can probably absorb a hit and if not, then more can pick you up. I would assume it's one D6 damage and I would assume Troy rolls a sec. It's better to eat shit than to be buried in the clean earth. All right. I will. Full of aphorisms. I keep getting. I keep getting these good rolls with the wisdom. It's very mean mud. Wet, wet mud. Okay. All right. So you're going to take it. I'm going to take it. I heard what was going to be better. So let's, let's find out what happened. Okay. First. Okay. Be nice. How many things do you have on your person? Do you have them listed in a specific order? Yes. Well, in a specific order? Yeah. Like everything in your pack. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. My back, back. Okay. How many things? Flint and Steele Grappling Hook, Mirror, Rope, and then my arrows, which I would say are like separate in a quiver. Okay. So how many things was that? Five total. Five. All right. So give me. I did it so fast. What was the second thing you said? My backpack, my flint and steel. Your flint and steel fall out of your pack. No. Okay. Oh, Brionne. No more light and torches. Oh, no. Brionne failed. Oh. Brionne takes four points at that. Boom. Boom. As a rock hits him. He's like, to stuttering with the child. Corvans succeeded. Regina failed. Regina takes four points of damage and goes down. Oh, no. Oh, no. That ruined. That was good. Brionne. Boom. This like takes that hit and he's like, a big piece of stone hit him, but he's still standing barely, barely. Corvans dodges out of the way with one of the kids. Regina gets hit by falling rock and goes down unconscious. It is Farah's turn. And this is a shitload of fun. It's the most stressful shitload of time I had. It's very fun. I'm going to turn. She's still in range. The wherewolf is on our are she's like coming up the passageway behind like right in at the entrance of this room. When you're near the statue kind of and work is standing there guarding guarding the way. What's it I do here? I don't know. I mean, you gotta heal Regina. Yeah. And then move and keep running out. Yeah. Get up on your own. Okay. I'm and so she's between me and the wolf. No, she Regina's in the front. She's in the front. Okay. She's on her way out. Collapse. Okay, so I run up and catch up with her and I'm going to try to cast your wounds. Okay. Do you look at? No, I get advantage on this anyway. Okay. Come on, come on, come on. No. Oh my god. Do you want to cap? Do you want to, I mean, we have one cap? That cap would lose seal for the day for it. That cap would mean two rerolls since you had advantage. That would be a very good. You tell me. I will use that. You want it? Okay. This is the last. I think that's a valuable use. I mean, this is because not only does this potentially save her, but it also saves all the rest of the healing. The war is going down. Yeah. I used the cap. Okay. I rolled a four, a seven, an eight, and a four. Oh my god. He's open. My rolls is attacks. Wait, and an eight doesn't get it. You were two eleven? No, plus two. We shadow darken. We shadow darken. So you go down and how does this, how does this manifest? Because we still don't know who it is. You're really, oh, you're geeked. It's geeked, but it's, I'm just like, it's just come on. And I think in the stress of the moment, it's just like, it fizzles in my fingertips. Like a geek. Dad, it's like, damn you, God. Yeah. Yeah, that's it. That's it. Okay. So he just goes and you see him. My hands on her. Hard breaking. And she's breathing, but not standing up. And it is Saint Stern. Yeah. Saint, you know, lost his footing and like stumbled and knows that something fell out of his bag. It doesn't even know what it is. It just keeps running and sees Pharaoh huddled over Regina. And I guess if I move, could I like start to pick up Regina? Yes. What is your strength? Not that strong. You're a little lighter now. There's no that flint and steel. Zero plus zero. One more limber. Okay. I mean, she's small. Yeah, it's going to slow you down. Yeah. And you remember up ahead is that really thin tunnel. You've got a maneuver through. So you could kind of marry in at her through. I can't replace on the wall. You could pick her up, but you the wolf is attacking you. Oh, yeah. Oh. I mean, I'll pick. There's nothing else I can do. I can I'll pick her up for now and keep going forward. Okay. Yeah. You could absolutely pick her up. And I just yell out like, Regina's hurt. I think any of us could pick up anyone in this room. I would pick up and carry. I think we could pick up and move very slowly. I don't know about he's not sprinting anymore. Yeah, I can think of anybody. You could pick up anybody. What? You tossed Matthew. I tried to pick it up the other day. Didn't work. You spin Matthew like you're a Harlem globe driver. I wouldn't pick no. No. No. He's the biggest one of us all. I could never. He's definitely the tallest. He's deadly the tallest. He's the biggest man. He's the biggest heart. He's the biggest heart. Really? He's in a large star. It's a problem. I don't think I've ever been in a situation where I've had to pick someone up and carry them through a collapsing cave. People are really heavy. Yeah. Okay. What? Especially if they're unconscious. Well, not a hero, but this is someone that is battle tested. He does it the right way. He does it the right way. He's fine. You're not carrying work. You're carrying Regina. Yeah. She's just smaller woman. He fired me and carries her. She doesn't even. She's a starving woman. One starving woman out of this cave. I have faith in you. Can we all carry her? You're actually starving. Your carry is our dinner. Yeah. Oh, no. Don't abandon perfectly good food in this. She's awesome. Can we go? She's also our quest. She's also our quest. Well, she might be our dinner. We found Regina. We also ate her. We also ate her. I guess you're never gonna believe us. I guess you could say Regina is inside all of us. She's with us. She's with us right now. I'm not giving you a reward. All right. Allison. So the wolf is like the wolf is right next to work. Come on. Come on. Magic. Magic. Come on. You could do this. Okay. All right. So close to her crit. But I get it on both. So that is going to be three points of damage. Three points of damage. You're doing great. Yeah. You're doing really really well. All right. It is hurting her. It is affecting her. She is still up. Oh, just put her to sleep. Sure. It's a little one-weirable. It's your classic layer one. We're one-weirable. We're not sick. Dear one. And then I will keep fleeing. Okay. Playing with fire with magic missile. They are firing those off. I got advantage. It's part of the spell. I'm just kidding. I was gonna look it up. Look it up. Three months in. Delay. So the guys run. Okay. The guys run. Now they run up to that narrow tunnel. And they're like, we got a problem. Now what do you do? Oh, we got a problem. He's going to run up to them. I imagined him, you know, creating just like a stop in that narrow tunnel. You can run across the entire room, get to there and you see them. They're like they're trying to figure all the narrow tunnels. This one. The kids put the kids down. It's like right at the edge because he was standing next to Regina trying. Oh no. You were right at the edge. So for hours now in the back if you go past Pharaoh. And when it's St. pushing like Regina through, how could he carry her but very. So St. You went to the tunnel. They come up. So St. First, basically. I'm in too. You're having this fair. You have to very quickly make a decision on what you want to do. But the guys are like, I think we can, if we lift them over our head, I think we can, I think we can just let the kids run. Put them down. Oh, I just run. Run. They could probably swirl through there quickly. But here's what you see. Through little fissures in the rock, there's like water coming in. Oh, water. Under the water. So red. Water is like coming through little fissures in the crack. It's spraying in your face. This black water dam is breaking. It's starting to fill up on the ground as well. You can start to make your way through. Regina might be a problem, but the kids can run on their own. Okay. Okay. You kids run. But right now, if you go up ahead, I'm the puller of the back. So I will protect Farrell. You'll protect. He's just like, go Farrell, go! And he holds up the shield. Sorry, it's this one. Shield. He's left hand. He's left hand. He's left hand. Whoa. All right. He's left. He's left. He's left. We're learning so much right before he dies. All right. Now it's on me. What do I want to resolve? I just said, there's been no morale check so far. This is just I don't know where HPS is, but I've hit her a bunch. I had a hundred. Same. I had a hundred with some coins. Yeah, I've hit her bunch. Yeah, I've hit her a bunch of coins in her. Here's what I'm gonna do. She's still taking damage from those coins that are in her body. Did she took the damage from the coins? Any damage was good. I mean, that idea. Any damage was so kind. So unbelievably. Lovely. Really hard. If I went to an ER and there, I have coins in me and they weren't up my butt. I feel like that would be a really like high class emergency. We have to like kind of balance the fact that it would be pretty hard to insert coins into a fresh wound while running. While running. He's not running. I rolled a natural one. But I get someone who's actively trying to not let you do it. It's a dollar bill. It like came back. How do you like a shit? Oh, this is actually squirting out. All right, so you've done a lot of damage to her. It is her turn. And behind her, you see the entire structure of that room just collapse. Boom. She's got nowhere to run either. That little statue of the dwarf in the back is like you see it for one split second before it's no longer in view. A huge chunk of the ceiling falls down. And I believe I said there were a couple pillars that were they didn't go all the way to the ceiling in this room, but they were in this room. And the way that they're falling, it's causing sort of collapse that's coming towards you. You feel this rumbling over your head and you look up ahead and just with between all this water coming through and stuff falling from the ceiling, you feel like what's happening in this room is going to collapse this narrow tunnel. The children are running up ahead. And this all falls and she just puts her hands up and holds it. Just holding the world above her, holding the world above her for her children, both the ones she lost and the ones that she's now losing again for these people she said she lost. She's holding it above her and she just says, whoa, what a turn. And we'll see you next week. We're still not out. No, no. Wow. And Regina is bleeding out. What a baby face turn.
