This episode of The Glass Cannon Podcast's 'Blood of the Wild' campaign follows scouts of the Broken Tusk as they complete tasks for an upcoming ceremony. After discovering a fey creature named Shaggy Shemven who broke a sacred raven stone, the party recruits him as a companion and learns snare-crafting skills. They then prepare to retrieve giant tapers for the celebration while investigating mysterious magical artifacts found by ravens.
Insights
- Tabletop RPG campaigns use leadership systems to organically integrate NPC companions into party dynamics through roleplay rather than mechanical requirements
- Failure in skill checks can provide richer narrative moments and character development than success, especially in training scenarios
- Fey creatures in fantasy worldbuilding operate on different temporal and emotional logic, creating both comedic and dramatic tension in player interactions
- Magical item discovery in campaigns can serve as narrative hooks that drive long-term campaign arcs and player curiosity
- Character specialization in crafting skills (like snare-making) creates meaningful mechanical differentiation and roleplay opportunities

With me, as always, I have my fantastic cast portraying a bevy of spellcasters and warriors, scouts of the following of the Broken Tusk. Please welcome Skid Maurer, Mary Lou, Joe O'Brien and Paula Deming. Thank you, thank you, Jared. I'm so happy to be featured on all things considered now. I'm not sure how we worked out that deal. Welcome to a... The merger between NPR and Glasscannon. Welcome to a playthrough of Quest for the Frozen Flame. I'm Terry Gross. How, when we're like 100 episodes into this, is Jared going to regret having started this thing where everyone seems to be like a new bit right at the start, you know? Oh, no, are you kidding? That's Jared's well to stream. I'd be like, like, for it and I'm like, oh gosh, what, what, I'm out, I'm out a bit. How am I going to start the one today? I don't know. Should I just start recycling them? It's going to get really non sequitur. Like by episode like 350, I'm going to be like, a chair, a chair. Hi, I'm Jared Logan. Did he just shout a chair? What was that one? What does it have to do with the blood of the wild? Yeah. That's all right. I usually just, I use my intros to my shows either to air grievances or just complain about TV shows that I'm watching or something. That's a great idea. I have grievances. I have grievances. Now's your chance. We can't really stop you during this opening part because we would go on your queue. So take your time. Hey, you know what? The other day I go to get a cup of coffee at the airport. I say to the woman, That's your first mistake. I say to the cashier, medium iced coffee, little bottle of almond milk. She pushes 17 different buttons. What are these buttons she's pushing? Add straw? Add ice? No oregano? What is she pushing? She has to push a button to stop the oregano from going into every coffee. That's actually a full disclosure. That's a joke I've been trying to do in my stand up act, but it sounds too much like a stand up joke and people are like, I don't know. It sounds like you were doing a Jerry Seinfeld impression but without the voice? Yeah. Does that make sense? It sounded to me like you were. What's up with cashiers who push so many buttons? That's a spot on Jerry Seinfeld and I don't want to, I don't want to hear this. It is spot on. Who are these people? Maybe Jerry Seinfeld should just run the whole game today. Oh no. I'm running the game. I'm having a good time. That was very good. Who are these monsters? That is really good. We could do it. We could do it. Maybe I could get paid $100 million for my comedy if I was Jerry Seinfeld who got paid $100 million for two specials and the show called Comedians and Cars Getting Coffee, which I always refer to as Comedians and Cars being surprised that there's a middle class. And maybe you could also date a high schooler in your 30s. People forget about this. Yeah, people forget about this. I won't let them forget. You dated a high schooler in his 30s? You dated a high schooler in his 30s. Shoshana. I know Mary Lou, you have that bumper sticker about how Jerry Seinfeld dated a high schooler in his 30s. Yeah, and I have one on the front too. So if people are ever looking in their rear view mirror, it's printed backwards so you can see like ambulance. It says Jerry Seinfeld dated a high schooler in his 30s. Who are these children and how can I get their number? That is a totally acceptable eugh follow. That's the sound you should make when you hear the joke I just made. Speaking of things that make you go eugh, let's talk about Ravens gouging out Olog's eyes. Olog, that's bad. Are you guys ready to have more animals attack your face? I really rather not, but I am ready. Here is my overwritten intro. Oh boy. The other lords say our days are numbered, our following dwindles, enemies dog our footsteps, and we have failed in our sacred charge. They say we will soon pass away into the endless arctic night. They are mistaken. We are strong. Broken but strong. The snow blinds our eyes and yet we see true. The wind freezes our skin and yet we endure. Their weapons break our bones and yet we stand tall. Our hearts beat and it is like the sound of a herd of mammoths stampeding across the tundra. And in each heart flows the blood of the wild. Perfect timing. Yeah, that's where that mammoth... That's where that's gotta go. I'm learning slowly. That's how we're workshopping this each episode. It's getting better and better. Yeah, by the time we get to episode 30, Joe's gonna be making bird noises. I'll be folding the sound of footsteps on snow. Ready to launch your business? Well, welcome and let's do a brief recap. Our players are portraying a group of scouts of the banner of the Broken Tusk, a hunter-gatherer group that travels on a migratory route through the realm of the mammoth lords in northern Afghanistan. In order to complete their scout training, our scouts first try to take down a bull moose with mixed results. They then were tasked by grandfather Awa, one of the mammoth lords that leads their following, with doing three tasks to prepare for an upcoming celebration. Every year, the following of the Broken Tusk arrives at Rock Loom on their migratory route. Rock Loom is where they celebrate the night of the green moon. Now, all of these three tasks are scouts decided to scout out Rock Loom to make sure that it was cleared of any threats or that it was ready for the ceremony and for the celebration. When they arrived, they found that the Raven Stone, a Rock Loom being a big group of standing stones up on a hillside, each stone representing a different totemic animal of the following of the Broken Tusk. When they arrived, they found that the Raven Stone had been broken. The Raven Stone was missing. They investigated around Rock Loom and were attacked by a swarm of angry ravens. Olog, crow-born, got his eyes practically gouged out by the crows, but before Yelka used her magic and Raga used her magic to disperse the crows. Then A-Wall... That's right, we're not just support class anymore. We're here taking care and we're getting it done. Haha, yo, that's some front line shit. That's some front line shit? So... Yes, that felt very urban. Okay, so... After the threat of the swarm of angry crows, and there's a reason that they're angry, you know, their totemic symbol has been vandalized. After the swarm of crows was dispersed, A-Wall, the Ranger, was able to very quietly climb up the hill and is there that he saw, sobbing at the top of the hill, a creature, a humanoid creature, with long pointed ears and a beard that covers its entire body, An enormous mane of hair leading into a beard, a big red beard, a coiled rope-like hair that covers its entire torso, covers its entire body and just arms and legs stick out from this very hairy personage. And you see this being sitting behind some bushes, that's why Yelka couldn't spot the creature earlier, and he is very quietly sobbing. And at his feet, A-Wall, you see the broken part of the raven stone, and it is big and it is heavy. And this creature is big and- No, this creature is not that large, this creature is medium size. Double checking that. Double checking, double checking. Yeah, probably medium. An important detail. Let's say for example it was huge, it was missed the word. Yeah, a big difference in how old A-Wall approaches the situation. At this point is A-Wall the only one who can see, who's close enough to see this figure? That's right, let me set the scene just a little bit more. A-Wall has climbed up through the heavy brush that surrounds the hill, stunted trees and small shrubs. And A-Wall has quietly climbed up the hill from the south side and is spying this creature in a clearing. The rest of you are at the base of the hill, you're a little bit southeast of where A-Wall has climbed up. So A-Wall can somehow signal his party, or perhaps A-Wall has something he'd like to do here. The creature is sitting on its haunches, it is medium and it is crying. He is going to... Can I roll a check to see if I've seen a creature like this before? Yes, what type of recall knowledge would you use? Nature. Go for it. 12. A 12. Well, I can't tell you exactly what type of creature it is, but you know that this is some type of fey creature. Your nature skill at least tells you that you are looking at some type of fey creature from the first world. Whoa. Okay, I don't think A-Wall knows too much about this. Oh, and forgive me, I was wrong, he is not medium size. He is small. Oh, it's some kind of damn gnome. Oh, okay. Alright, well in that case... Then what were those... Never mind. Why were the footprints big and heavy? Yeah, maybe he didn't make them. I'm not there, I don't know this. Right beside him, you see a very heavy raven stone. Yeah. He's going to, from behind this tree, he's going to poke his head out and just sort of call out. Hello? The creature looks over directly at you and climbs behind the raven stone and peeks out at you. It's alright, it's okay. He's going to step out from behind the tree. And he ducks back behind the raven stone. No, no, no, it's alright. And he'll turn around. It's okay, come on up, come on up. To everyone behind. And he's going to start walking out and we'll just say... It's okay, we were just looking for the raven stone and we found it, you found it. Aaaaaaahhh! Come out from back there and he's going to step a little bit into the clearing and he's just going to step out. He doesn't feel frightened by this creature. As Yelka approaches here in A-Wall say to come up and it's okay and she sees this creature crying next to the stone head of her totem that also caused them all to be attacked. I just don't know what I think, what is he crying about? Is he sad he got caught? Is he sad that he accidentally ripped this stone head off? What's his deal? Can I sense how... Is it possible to do like a sense motive perhaps on why he's crying? Yeah, there's probably an action in Pathliner 2e that allows us to do that. Perception, it comes up with a perception. Very good, go ahead and give me a perception role, you're trying to get some idea of his motivation or emotional state. I'm still like kind of offended and I think maybe it's his fault. So I am clouded by my own emotional state right now and with a 7 I probably can't tell much about what he's feeling or thinking. The creature is, yes, that's all correct. The creature is now like sort of thrown himself over the stone. He's like hanging on it and he's getting louder. Raga, Raga, do you think you could cheer him up? Well, I'll try my best. Leave me be! Leave me to my sorrow! I'm going to attempt to make an impression. Great idea. Please go ahead and roll the diplomacy check and then tell me how you'd like to role play it. Roll the 17. A 17 and I'm going to say that that is a success. Okay, um, oh, hello, good sir. Good sir. Um, you seem, you seem very upset. I can see that you are quite sad. You are feeling sorrow. I heard your words. You said you feel sorrow. We do not want to leave you to your sorrow. We would like to help. These are my friends. This is Aewol and Olag and Yelka and I am Raga. Yelka just crosses her arms and kind of glares. What is your name? She's making so much noise. You cannot help me. My heart has been ripped in twain. Oh, that sounds horrible. I am forlorn, utterly forlorn. Well, what has happened to make you this upset? What? At least he didn't get his eyes clawed out by ravens. I don't know what he has to be so upset about. Were you also attacked by the ravens? You have the smell of one of the fey on you. And he approaches Raga. Oh. Oh, he goes crawling over to Raga. Oh, hello. And he is sniffing all over Raga. Oh. Just stay still. I think he'll be done in a moment. I actually get this a lot. Yes. I have developed quite a sense from living with the bears for so long. Yes. You have the smell of the first world on you. You'll understand. Oh, yes. I saw a beautiful raven woman. Oh. Beautiful blue skin, black wings, crested with feathers of the deepest onyx. I fell in love, oh so deeply in love. In vain I have tried to draw her to me. If only I could speak to her and profess my feelings. I have brought this stone as offering to her. Where are you, Raven woman? I'm sorry. Why won't you see me? Hush, hush. Can I coerce him to stop with this emotional nonsense? She says emotionally. Yes, you may emotionally calm his emotions with a coerce. Hush. And just listen for a second. And she's going to try and intimidate him into shutting up. Oh, come on. Nine and four is 12? 13. 13? 13. Who are you who has never known love? Yes, I can tell. Hey, you are loud. Who are you to speak to me of calming myself when my very essence has been trapped? Has been trampled on by the coldness of this impure world. Okay, I'm very sorry. And he crawls back over to the Raven Stone and drapes himself over it again. Excuse me, excuse me, can you listen for a second? Because maybe I have known love and maybe, okay, it's not reciprocated yet, but that doesn't mean it won't be ever. So, yeah, first of all, no, I think he just called you a virgin. Your love? Yeah, that's also true. Your love hasn't been reciprocated? No, just... In the person you love does not know that you love her or him or it. That's right. Okay, Yelka's mind is whirling. It's like, oh, okay, take a new tack. Yeah, Raga's going... Right. Not reciprocated. Just like it sounds like yours hasn't been. But you know what I wouldn't have done? Ripped off a holy symbol to try and get someone to notice me. No, no, no. No, no, no. It is a gift for my love. How did you think she was gonna know that you had this gift for her? It is a great effigy, a symbol of the majesty of a Raven. And she was gonna hear somehow through the ether, the cracking off of the head of this Raven Stone and come to you? I have seen her here perched many times on this hill, but she has not come back since I last spied her in the sky. When? How long ago was that? Time is strange here in this base world. It was either many weeks or yesterday. I just... Yelka just like... And like turns around to the rest of the group with like an exasperated like shrug. Like, you do something with him. Yeah. How long have you waited since breaking the stone? So long. Either days. Or maybe it was an hour. Raga's going to say, Well, perhaps my friend, if you have seen her perched on this hill before, did you not think that maybe it would upset her that you ripped apart her stone? Now that is occurring to me, now that you say it, yes. Perhaps we can help you put it back together and that will help your Raven Woman see how helpful and wonderful and strong you are for fixing her stone. Ah. Yes, perhaps I've made a mistake. Well, that is okay to make mistakes. It's what we do in response to them that really matters. Very good. So we should return the stone. Oh, that is such a good idea that you have just had my friend. What a wonderful idea. Yes, everyone, don't you think this is a good idea? We should return the stone. Yes, it's definitely a good idea. We should return the stone. Probably quickly. He lifts it. He's a small creature, so you see him sink down into the mud on top of the hill and that's where he left those very deep tracks and he starts through the mud down toward Rockloom, down toward the standing stones. Jared, as he describes this Raven Woman, as someone who the Raven is her totem, does this sound like some sort of mythical or religious type of figure that I would know about because of the Raven or is this just like some like rando woman who kind of looks like a Raven? It feels like a recall knowledge check might tell you that. Sure does. I'm also going to roll that. What skill are you using? I have a really high religion, but I just rolled a two, so. Never mind. You're both rolling religion? I think so. I feel like religion makes sense for this. Okay. Over, yeah, I guess it could be nature, but I feel like I'm thinking about it from like a... Well, let me tell you something. In Pathfinder 2e, something important to keep in mind is that a religion recall knowledge check would more likely give you information about divine creatures. You know, the different types of magic in Pathfinder 2e and Galarian are very important. So, if you think you're dealing with an angel or a demon or something that uses divine magic, then religion would be the thing to think about. But otherwise, you might use a different skill. Yeah, actually nature specifically relates to the fey. So, that would probably be. Okay, that's good to know. And there, I have the same stat buff for either, so if that's... Okay, I'll keep them on. Nature is better for fey, which makes sense, because he's fey. Yes, so then I will do a nature check. I also will. And A-well will as well. Wow. And of course, all of these scouts have good nature skill, because you need to to be a scout. Yeah, I rolled an 11, so I'm just... Okay. Did anybody do better than a 15? A-well got a 19. There you go. A-well knows. A-well, you're the one that knows that... It's my totem, A-well. I know, but you know, you are still young in the following yelka. It's true. And you still have many things to learn. A-well, you have perhaps in your missions a little bit farther afield than your friends, because you are a ranger, of course. So you have ranged a little farther. Have perhaps once come across a Cadlaka. Strong, lanky humanoids with raven-like features, combining the most formidable aspects of talented hunters and airborne scouts. To say nothing of their potent magical powers over thunder and lightning. Oh, boy. Cadlaka. Cadlaka. Um... Shenven. Oh, by the way, he introduces himself as he walks past you with the stone. I'm Shenven, by the way. Oh, it is very nice for you. Shaggy Shenven. Yes, we saw your name on Route 20. Do you prefer to go by Shaggy or Shenven? Shenven, please. Well, it is nice to meet you, Shenven. This is my brother, Baba. He says something to him in bear. And then he takes the stone down to where the raven stone is, and you see him kind of try to lift it up, and he can lift it to the top of his height, but of course he's small, and then he puts it down at the base of the stone and says, It was easier getting it off. Well, of course it is true. Perhaps we can help? Or Baba, you can stand on his shoulders. Yeah, Ola, does it look like something I can lift? It looks like it's going to be very difficult to lift, and of course you also don't quite have the height necessary. You're a little short. Three feet maybe. We have, like... Rope, sir. We create something to help, like, climb up. We have rope. I have rope. How is he going to get up with the... How do we get him up there? I can't lift it, little man, but I can lift you, and I give Shaggy a boost with the rock to see if he can... Well, if Shaggy's holding the rock, Shaggy suddenly becomes as heavy as the rock, so you're pulling on Shaggy, and he's going, There's a little to take my foot. No, you're... Okay, I need to twist. Twist me around. No, ow, ow, you're hurting me. You're hurting me. And it's not quite working. Okay. But, you know... Could we make this staircase of a sort with the other boulders? This maybe it might be necessary to figure out some sort of... Yeah, some sort of fix here. Well, we have that big boulder that the footprints disappeared into. But I don't think we can move back, can we? Could we roll it maybe with Baba's help? If I command Baba to help, could... Or with Shaggy's help, Shaggy Shemvin's help. Shaggy could, that's true. He seems super strong. Yeah, he's super strong. Shemvin. Can I make a request of him? You may. Um... Mr. Shemvin, I would... I really think that perhaps... I am often too small to reach things that the bears can reach. So I use, I like a step ladder or I climb a tree. Perhaps we could make a staircase up to the top of the stone with... I see another boulder here. Perhaps we could roll it? Okay, Shaggy Shemvin is kind of trying to follow your instructions. And you see him walk over to the boulder and walk directly into it. Like he's going through a waterfall. Oh, wow. Amazing. Then he comes out the other side so that he's behind it. And he starts pushing. And he's kind of rolling it down toward rock loom. And the situation is that he seems very good at moving stones, but not really good at figuring out how to create a staircase here. So I need some sort of check to instruct him. I'm going to try diplomacy. A diplomacy check? No. I don't think that would do it. You've already gained his friendship. He's listening to you and doing what you'd like him to do. But he just is not good at it. He keeps rolling in the wrong place. Crafting. You could try that. I don't have a high crafting. First, is there any chance that a wall could go? What was that? Yeah, I also want to know. When he walks into the rock? What did you just do? I am one with the stones. They are my friends. And he lifts the stone. Aren't you my little one? And then he takes a bite out of it. Oh. Oh, no. Oh, um, could you then just ask the stone to go back up on top of... Is that how it works? Is that how it works? I don't remember. It's been many minutes since I arrived here days ago. I will try. Stones, harken to me. Create a staircase to the top of the raven stone. Now as I command. No, it didn't work. Well, I think it was worth trying. But just building a staircase, I think it's easy enough. Like this. Oh, 21. Crafty. Success. And so it is a wall with his skill in art and crafting. Yes, he just gets crafting, but then he has an additional specialty crafting that's kind of focused on art. But I think that it generally means if you have, if you're trained in craft, you kind of get how to craft things like this. I don't know. No, absolutely. You tell them how to like put the load bearing weight where it needs to be. And how to kind of form like a pile of stones. Basics. Yeah. And so Shemven is now able to carry the raven stone up to the top and place it right roughly where it goes. It's a little crooked. And now he's touching the stone and the crack is going away. Oh, that's amazing. Oh, wow. So cool. And he gets done and it's a little crooked. And he says, perfect. And we say, I, Raga looks at everybody and she's nodding very conspicuously and goes, perfect. Yes, it is. We all see that. Well, it's got to show us play even now, right? And everybody earns 30 XP. Yeah. Oh, nice. I can tell you also without any sort of perception role that you see that the ravens earlier, they had some shinies that are dangling from the bushes a little bit. There are two things that you find. There is a compass of some sort. Perhaps you've never seen something like this. It looks like a little, you know, circle with a little dial on it and it's on a chain. And there is also a golden pendant with a big red stone in the center. And those are just kind of hanging on the shrubs where the ravens had kind of collected them. Oh, well, I feel like the jewelry should go to the jewelry maker. This is beautiful. The golden pendant with the big red stone in the center. That's really neat. Golden pendant. We don't see too much gold, right? You don't see any gold. You guys don't trade in gold. Wow. Look at the way it shines. Where did the ravens get this? And that is the focus of the rest of our campaign. This campaign is... Oh, man. How did a raven get rich? He invested in crypto and then pulled out at the right time. Could I do a craft check for like craft, the specialty crafting on art and jewelry and that kind of stuff to get a sense of the cutting of this gem, what kind of gem it is. If it's expertly done, masterful, that kind of thing. Yeah, absolutely. That is a nine. A nine? I can't tell you much. It's just one of the most beautiful things you've ever seen. And you think it would be worth quite a bit in trade. Yeah. Hey, wall, will you bring those over to me? May I look at them? Of course. He walks them over. The chain... The pendant on a chain or is the compass on a chain? Both are. Okay. So he holds the two things, dangling from their chains. Have we ever used a compass? Have we ever seen a compass? You haven't, so you would need some sort of recall knowledge to kind of know what it is. And of course, compasses in the world of Golarion probably work sometimes on a slightly different physical principle. So certain types of magic skills might allow you to know what this wondrous object is. Right. Well, I'm wondering if... A skid, I'm wondering if it's actually a wayfinder. Yeah, that's what I'm wondering. A wayfinder. But we wouldn't have any way to know that. Having never seen really anything like either of these two objects before, Yelka immediately assumes that maybe there is something otherworldly about them and would like to detect magic on them. She's not going to take them from A-Wall, she's just going to put her hand over them as he holds them out to her. And A-Wall, as she gets her hand really close to his, is like, his heart starts racing, worried that she's going to electrocute it. Oh no! And he's just like, don't act weird. Don't act weird. Stay still. And she just says, reveal. And a little pulse that maybe has just the tiniest little static tingle, you know, like when your foot has fallen asleep. Kind of rushes through you for just a moment. And this should detect the presence of magic actually in a 30 foot emanation. I will choose to ignore any magic I'm fully aware of. Already here. Yeah, you get a very small pulse from the compass. That's when Shaggy Shemvin walks over and goes, beautiful, beautiful. And his beard comes out like a tentacle and it lifts the compass. This would make a great gift for my raven woman. Um, well, actually. Hold on. He puts the compass down. This would make an even greater gift. And he lifts a normal stone. Couldn't agree more. A good idea, Shemvin. And I'm just going to give a wall kind of like a look to be like, we need to put like pocket these. Like put these. Alright, so he'll start and he'll pocket the pendant, the golden pendant with the red thingy, and then he'll put the compass that Yelka sort of spent an extra second on. And obviously like he felt some of that emanation after she did the tag magic on it. And he's just looking at it like completely fascinated by it. He starts twisting it and turning it in this dial is moving and he has no idea what it is or why it's moving like that. Yeah, you know, with just a little bit of experience with it, he can probably figure it out, right? Yeah. Because it looking at it. And it's in the direction, right? Okay, so what now? Shemvin, if you don't mind me asking, how did you meet your Raven Woman? I saw her flying through the sky. Here? Yes, it was either here or another place. That's right, you're not very helpful, are you? I think it was nearby. Nearby? Yes, a thousand miles from here. Great. This is exactly what it would be like talking to Faye. I know, that's why I hate the Faye. I hate them so much. Did she say anything to you? Have you ever actually spoken to her? No. Do you know her name? No. But I know I'm in love. And I know that when she speaks to me, I will feel a rapture of joy like none I have ever experienced. And his beard sort of takes a different shape and kind of like wiggles in the air. Yoko will just turn her back on Shem and say to her friends, I think the best thing to do is to go back and report this to grandfather Awa. Yeah, probably right. I think you're right. That does sound the smart action. Do we just send him on his way or should we invite him for dinner? I don't want to talk to him all the way back. No, I've had my fill of whatever he is. I will send our greetings with him as we go. We do not need to invite him back home with us. I do not think the Faye would even really like it very much. Could I get a sense of what are the... How have we been raised to think about Faye? Have we been raised to fear them and not invite them around the campfire? Or have we been advised that they can be helpful and they are magical creatures that if you treat them well, they can help? They might not surprise you to know that you've heard both things or a different variety of things. Some Faye are very helpful or safe to approach and some are extremely dangerous. It would be extremely foolhardy to let know your location. You'll have to take Shemven as he comes. And in fact, as you all stand off conferencing by yourself, he returns to the ground, sits down at the base of the Raven Stone. See, I think we need to invite him. I really do. I think we should leave him to his grief. Well, he's going to be here when the following arrives. Well, I thought I would perhaps warn him so that he can make the choice for himself, whether he wants to be around or not. You can ask him. I don't think he's going to say yes. I don't think it's the polite thing to do. Go ahead and ask. Alright, Raga. Okay, I will talk to him. I will not encourage him to come home with us, but if it seems like he wants to... You probably are just extremely invitation. Okay, I will. Alright, I think this is smart. We do not want to make a bad impression. I think this is what grandfather Iwo would like. I think he'd like us to act this way. I will trust you. You know grandfather better than I. He has only been my grandfather for two years. She giggles and heads over to Shemven. Oh, Shemven, I am so sorry to interrupt your sobbing. But we were thinking of heading home, and I just wanted to extend a warning to you that in three days' sense, we will be having a very large, very important shindig here. And you would like for me to come? Oh, that is so generous of you. Oh, thank you. Oh, his beard strikes kind of caressing your head. Oh, oh. He's tussling your hair with his beard. Oh, Shemven, you certainly are welcome to the festival. Thank you. I think we would be honored to have one of the fey grace us with your presence. And as my raven-haired lady invited his will, well, I do not know anything about that because I have just now heard of her for the first time today. And maybe you could, well, if you like, if you're hungry, you could come with us now back and have some dinner and maybe tell our grandfather Iwa about this raven-haired lady you saw. Dinner. Yes. You hungry? Oh. I haven't eaten in six moons. We do eat meat and not rocks? I'm sorry, we have no rocks to eat. There are no rocks. But you are welcome to bring your own rocks. Oh, yes, that's true. I have just eaten. I'm quite full. But I will come with you. OK. Excellent. She turns, Raga turns to her group and kind of shrugs like, I try. This is great. This is great. And, yeah, A'Waugh is like honestly excited. He stops crying and he trumps along behind you with a smile on his face. Well, that makes Yelka happy at least. Yeah, just the stopping of the sobbing. And I'll let you know something else. In the quest for the frozen flame, there is a subsystem from the Game Mastery Guide called the leadership system. And the leadership system allows you to add NPCs to your group that can act as lieutenants and they can even go with you on adventures. And you have just successfully recruited Shaggy Shemven. Oh, awesome. You are behind. You almost did. And that's OK, too. If you meet someone you don't like, don't feel obligated. I know I like him. I was scared that he'd turn against us, but seems like he likes us. Well, it could still go the other way. I mean, he seems like a malevolent, dangerous... Well, I mean, I'm partially going on Jared's portrayal of him. Also, again, these are things that you guys didn't hear in our long conversation during character creation. And you would know A-Wall much better than you do as a player at this stage. But what we sort of detailed in that is part of this art, part of all that stuff, it comes out of that he is not human, that he is Ganzi, which is a heritage, a human heritage. That means that there is... The blood of the maelstrom is somewhere within your bloodline. So pure chaos is part of his essence. So he is chaotic. That's like a gin thing or something? Yes, all different kinds. But all different creatures fall under that realm, but it is not demonic. That is a different kind of chaos. This is chaos with a more positive bent, but it's like, sure as shit, pure chaos. So that's where I think his art comes from. That's where I think his viewpoint on a lot of things comes from. And so you would know him to be impulsive and be very like, we should have a for dinner! And just going based off the face value of what he sees, and not really digging too deep, you know? Or worrying about what everyone else thinks. Like he kind of just like does shit. That's so exciting! It's the winter storm. I love that I'm also chaotic good and our interpretations of how that will manifest is so different and I love it. It's awesome. I'm also chaotic good! Oh my gosh, we're all teenagers. Yeah, we all are. Yeah, I know, we're all teens. We're all chaotic good teenagers. And since you're the players of a tabletop role-playing game, I will not have to prompt you to do things that are chaotic. Okay. Ah. Okay, residents 18 plus T's and C's apply. You saw the edit, but that's not the full story. Devonte Anderson from Love is Blind is finally speaking out. From his relationship with Brittany to productions role behind the scenes to the moment everyone's been debating the people of color comment. And yes, we asked him everything, including what Netflix didn't show. Like Brittany meeting his family. A lot was cut. And now it's all coming out. No filters. No safe questions. Just the truth. Listen now to the Roxanne and Chantel podcast available where you get your podcasts. You arrived back at the following's camp. And I'm going to just cut ahead a little bit. You introduce Shaggy to grandfather Awa and you leave them consorting with one another. Grandfather Awa welcomes Shaggy and immediately is able to disarm him, you know, socially and is in deep conversation with him questioning him about the Raven woman and things like that. And that is when wepa and your father, Olog and Yelka Gronam come up to you. And it is now mid afternoon and they say your training is not done. It is time to learn some new skills. Are you ready? Oh, that was your father Gronam. Yeah, okay. Very good. Yes, wepa. Follow us. And they take you to an area where they have a lot of materials collected. There are rocks and lengths of wood and twine and wepa turns to you and says, today we are going to work on building snares. That's why my dad's here. On the way walking over, can I have like gestured to everyone to just like hang back behind them slightly so that I can quietly say to all of them, when we're done here, I want us all to look at that weird thing that they were, they were all found. I think, I think there's something really special about it. I think when we're done. I think most of the way back he was looking at it. Just baffling. He's looking around and the dial keeps moving, not figuring anything out quite yet. I think it is just a necklace. I think it's quite pretty though. It's more than that. It's a necklace that moves. We'll look at it later. Scouts, are you paying attention? Sorry. Yes, yes, sorry. Yes, of course, sorry. Scouts, Ma'am. Daughter, sorry father. Daughter, heed wepa. He has wisdom to impart. You all are going to be tasked with building your own snare. But first, watch me carefully complete three different snares that we use in the banner of the broken tusk to catch game and to defend our encampment. This is very important. Are you paying attention? Paying attention, yes. First, I will complete a cow-trop snare. She basically creates a canister, although in the case of the following of the broken tusk it's really more of a leather bag that she has filled with very sharp pieces of burr from a thorny tree that leaves thorny barbs. She shows that how she attaches it to a tripwire and she explains that when the tripwire is tripped, the bag pops open spreading cow-trops all over the ground. Cool. Then she shows you a battering snare. Battering snare is just a big, flat rock that's held in place with a flexible branch and when it is triggered, this huge flat rock swings wide and smacks into whoever broke the branch, whoever tripped the branch. And you see, although she hasn't set it off yet, that it could be quite damaging to whoever was standing in the wrong place. Yeah, it's right out of return of the Jedi. Yeah, any ATST in its path would surely be dear. Yes, nerded. And this is the most dangerous. And you see her pull out a long, sharp object that's dripping at the tip and it looks like it's part of some plant. Oh, it's like a poison needle. It's a poison barb snare. Oh, cool. So she shows you how she carefully plants the poison barbs into the ground and that looking at it after she's planted them carefully, they look like they could be other blades of grass, but you know that they are highly poisonous. Wow. Can I ask, you know, well, I've seen you make these before, but what are they for exactly? Were you listening, A-Wall? Well, what are the poison ones for? Like who, like you wouldn't poison an animal you're going to eat, right? So are they for like intruders? Defense against, yeah, defending a camp at night. Or do you poison an animal you eat? Gronam says, A-Wall, you may poison an animal you eat. It doesn't fill its entire being with poison. It does not make the meat poisonous. It simply greatly slows its ability to move. And we do this with respect and with an appreciation for the sacrifice that the animal makes. These are also excellent against unwanted visitors. And sometimes we place them around a camp that we like to defend carefully. We don't have them circling our camp now because we are all here in number and we have scouts to, scouts like you, to keep a lookout. When he says scouts like you, like Yelka feels like, like kind of puffs up a little like, yeah, we're like real scouts. And then Weepa says, they are not scouts yet. And then our heads off. Did deflates. They must show that they can complete this skill among others. And so each of you are now allowed to attempt to create one of the snares. Wow. Okay. Oh man. Uh, isn't snare crafting its own crafting like line, like a specialty crafting? It is a specialty. It is a specialty that you could take if you don't have that, you know, because you have a specialty crafting for art, right? Yeah. It's sort of a feat, I believe a skill feat. Or maybe I'm wrong. Regardless, you are very good at creating art. However, anybody can attempt a crafting check to create one of these now. Okay, so this wouldn't be a survival check. This would be a craft check. This is a crafting check. That's right. And so Weepa says, Hey, wall. You seem the most interested in the workings of these defenses. You're not. What snare will you craft? Well, do the poison one. It seems like it's very useful for a lot of different reasons, especially if you can eat the meat. Uh, and he'll try to craft that one. Careful, A-Wall. The difficulty is in handling the barbs. And she shows you where she has laid out on a fur. She's laid out all these poisonous plant barbs. Okay. Would you like to attempt the crafting check? You will attempt. Okay, very good. Go for it. Okay. Come on. That is a 10. A 10 is not enough. Luckily, it is not a critical failure. So I think that what happens is at one point you all, you know, one of the tips scrapes your finger and you drop all of them. And now they're like very hard to pick up out of the grass and Weepa goes, Keep working on it. Raga. Oh, um, I'm a little frightened, but um, I will try. You should be. You should have respect for these things. I will try the, um, the bathroom. Very good. Here's the stone. Here's the rope. 12. Again, not a critical miss. The stone, you can't, Raga can't quite seem to get the stone to kind of hang over a branch. She's like having trouble with it. It's pretty heavy and Raga is, is Raga pretty small for a medium sized person? She is very, very thin, like very wiry, but she's not short. She's kind of willowy. Very good. Um, so far I'm not impressed scouts and you see Grownum go, Weepa, patience. Oh boy. Yelka. I know you're ready for this. Oh gosh. I want to make my dad so proud. Now hear me out. Okay. Uh, I don't have anything really in crafting, but I have spent my whole life watching my father craft snares. So perhaps there's some kind of buffer bonus that could be applied here. Wow. Think about it. Just think about it. You know, you have been watching your father craft snares for many, many long years. Right. Yes. You've been paying attention. Give me a society check. Okay. And if you do, you can get a bonus on the crafting check. That's 18 on the society check. You may have a plus two circumstance bonus on your crafting check. Come on. I want to make him so proud. I'm trying to make the cow drop snare. So this is the one that I've been the most interested in because it involves gathering small bits and putting them in pouches, which is a thing I just like to do anyway. Um, okay. You can do this. You can do this. It's just a 12. I should have just done the first roll for the crafting. That's okay. Also not a critical fail. So nothing goes wrong. It's just that you can't quite get your bag to explode the way it's supposed to. It's like, it kind of like goes, and then the cow drops just dribble out. I just look and I say, I'm sorry, father. You, um, you all have to work at it for a long time. Uh, and, uh, without any more skill checks, let me just say that eventually you get your, you get your, um, your snares to work. Although it's a, oh, I'm sorry. I forgot. Oh, log. Yeah. Oh log. You are here too. Oh, thank you. Yes. Brownham says, what about you? I'm crazy indeed. What are you? What about you? Oh log. So all you craft all log, I think is he's flushing again. He's blushing. This skin is turning dark green again because this is something that he's never had a sense for. He's never had a feel for this at all. He's never gotten his merit badge in snares. This is something he's bad at. So he's just like battering and he just starts working on the battering snare. But he's like sort of mumbling to himself six snares. They're the tools of sneak thieves and forest bandits. No true warriors weapon. I hope you see only one of us who can do it really well. 13. 13. Not enough. And so I think that basically, oh log gets the big stone hanging from a twine, but then the twine breaks. So you all fail, but I will say that Gronam says to you, oh log, am I a sneak thief, oh log? And the skin flushes even darker. I didn't mean no. No. Do not worry about it, my son. I am merely trying to get a rise out of you. Now watch carefully. So Gronam and Wipa instruct you on this for a while. And finally, you are able to get them working. But you know, there's supposed to be an XP reward for this activity, but I feel like you all failed. So I'm going to give you half of that XP reward, 40 XP. Hey, you often will learn more from failure than you do from success. Good point. So double. Double the XP. That's a good point. It should be double, right? Yeah. All right. Well, this is a GM call and I'm going to call it half XP. And then. So now we have a total of 70. You are each given a Malachite worry stone, which is something that snare crafters carry with them. It is tradable. It is barterable. It's worth some value. But snare crafters keep these worry stones on them as a way of kind of reminding themselves that there's a snare out there that they've set. Oh, as a snare. You do not want to forget that you set a snare somewhere. That is so cool. That's cool. And on top of that, three snares, you are now carrying with you the items necessary to quickly set and put three snares into action. And I'm going to say one of each. So you have the necessary ingredients for a poison barb snare, a rock snare, a battering snare, and a cow drop snare. Cool. Sweet. Awesome. There were three tasks that must be completed before the ceremony, before the night of the green moon. Of course, now it has gotten pretty late in the day. So perhaps everyone goes to rest. I can tell you that if you rest for eight hours, which I think we're going to do right now, you will regain hit points equal to your constitution modifier times your level. So if you, does anybody have a constitution modifier? Yes. I do. Well, even if you don't, you get a minimum of one HP when you rest. Oh, really? Well, I shouldn't have gotten a plus one in con. Yeah, really. All I have is the plus one. What I get right now, it's one times one equals one, baby. One equals one. Okay. Before I'm still down to hit. Well, at this point, I think I could ask Yelka to treat wounds if it's going to be like before rest. Yeah, for sure. Right. Cause well, well, I keep getting confused too, because in Starfinder, if you get it, I keep it at like in Starfinder, if you get like a mundane wound treating your, that's it for you for the day, but in Pathfinder 2e, it's just an hour. Pretty much is in 2e as well. So you, it takes 10 minutes to do it. And then with treat wounds, and then there's a certain amount of time before treat wounds can be used on you. It's an hour. It's just an hour. So yeah, someone could try it on you again if they needed to. Great. Yeah. So before I go to bed, I can take a look at, at A-wall's scratched face and say, I just don't think this is healing as quickly as it should. Do you want me to, before you go to rest for the night? Yes, I think. Do you want me to try and help? So I'll pull in, I'll pull out my own bag of herbs and crush them up in my hand and spit in my hand again. And then just kind of like, I'll say, don't worry. It probably won't shock you. And I just smack my hand onto the side of his face to hold it onto there. And that would be plus nature 19. I want to, that's great. And I think that that does restore the 2d8. But also Yelka, I want you to tell me, do you shock him a little bit? Your curse isn't in effect right now, but perhaps there's always residual effects or maybe there's not. And there is often like, when you touch Yelka, like the tiniest little like static shock. And at this point when her curse isn't, uh, actively affecting her, it's not painful. It's not like sticking your finger into a socket. It's just like the occasional little like tingle or maybe if a moment is more emotionally charged, it might be more of like a slightly sharper static shock, but just like, you know, you rubbed your feet on the carpet and then like touch the door knob. There's a weird tingle. There's a little bit of a static shock. A little bit of a snap. Yeah. Okay. All right. But this is like something I feel like they've done before. And it's just kind of, like you said, blessing and a curse. Like you're very skilled at this one thing, but it comes with this very minor downside. Pinch or whatever. It's just going to hurt just a little. It's just a little stick. Right. You're actually closing up a wound or putting a salve in it so that it heals better than worth it. And that's a total of six points. Oh, nice. All right. That puts me at full. It's funny too, just to think how, how used to this we would be having grown up with her. Yeah. Like, you know, it's just like just so accustomed to this, that happening, that little shock, you know. Uh. It's very well. Deering like at this point. Yeah. Very well. And so, um, I'm going to have, uh, the moon rise and, uh, the moon, uh, we'll go down as the sun rises on the next morning. And you have two more tasks ahead of you. One is to bring back ceremonial vessels full of water from the Gornak river. And the other is to go and scout out these giant tapers and bring them back to the herd. I'm going to say that you convene over your breakfast beside a roaring fire. Perhaps you have some small game, some rabbit or some root vegetables that you're roasting for your breakfast. The smell is delicious. Food is tasty. And what do you decide to do? I think tapers sounds like, all I would say the taper sounds like the more, uh, labor-intensive task. It's like water carrying water. So like, I could do that by myself. So I think he would want to get that out of the way. He said, let's do the tape. He wants to do the tapers first and then they can leave the easiest task for less. Very well. And, uh, as you are walking toward the Gornak river, oh, I'm sorry. I didn't wait for everybody else to weigh in. Does everybody else agree? I am the ruler. Yeah. All along is a seven foot four orc. So maybe you do what he fucking says. That's right. That's the operating theory. Raga has been excited to do the tapers since she first heard about it. So she's absolutely on board. Yeah. We can do the tapers now because then when we come back later, we can end our day, uh, with Pekano because he's going to be coming with us for the water vessels. Oh, that is true. That's true. That's right. And then maybe like he'll want to eat dinner with us or something. So that could be good. Dead silence. It's like rockets. I hope he does not. And she starts walking towards the tapers. Uh, oh, as we walk, I'll start following Raga. As we walk, I want to say to everyone that, that strange dial AWOL that you have, I detected magic on it. Everyone, it's, there's something magical about it. I don't know what, but I just wanted you all to know. So it is not just the necklace? No, I don't think so. The other one is with the red stone. That is just pretty. Um, I've had this for, uh, you know, hours and hours and hours now into the evening and then into the morning. Jared, do you think AWOL could do a survival check to see if he is recognizing a consistency in the dial and like what it's doing where that it's consistently pointing north? If that's in fact what it does. You know, that is so obvious that I'm not going to make you make a survival check. I think that you figure out eventually that it always points to the same direction and you are someone that's trained in survival. So you know what that direction is. The thing I will tell you now though, since you've spent a lot of time with it, is that this is a special compass and it gives you a plus one to navigation roles. Item bonus. Oh, cool. Um, okay. I wonder if it is a wayfinder. I have to think that it might be. Yeah, I mean, just metagaming, it would be, you know, really cool if these were like objects that were like taken from a pathfinder. Yeah. They're found in the far north by the, by Kellids or just like, what is this? Yeah. Yeah, that's cool. Um, okay. Yeah. So he'll say, um, it's magic. Is it? Indeed. Cause it points always north, I noticed. And I don't know why. Maybe there's something up there, something beyond the horizon. Uh, a great obelisk or a powerful magical artifact. It's like imaginations running away with them that it might not necessarily just be choosing the direction, but something that's in that direction. Um, uh, that it's calling to it. It's leading us there. It's telling us to go. Uh, Yelka. Dude says, let me see that. And we'll just grasp, take it from you. A wall if you'll let her. Uh, and, uh, cast the can trip if I may, no direction. Uh, and I see in my mind, uh, as I, as I say, show me and I close my eyes and I see in my mind a path northward and I turn toward it and then I open my eyes and I look at the compass or the dial and I'm like, huh, it does know which way is north. And I'll hand it back. That's cool. Little test, little pop quiz, pop quiz, hot shot. And you see, uh, a wall just like puts it back into a pouch, a leather pouch that he carries on his belt and his eyes are just like cast north, like to the horizon, just wondering what's there, what it's pointing to. As the wind blows in his hair. Very good. So I believe I heard two of our party say that they would like to go and investigate the giant tapers and another of our party say that they'd like to go gather the ceremonial vessels of water. So, um, what is our final decision? And does anybody else want to weigh in? A wall will, uh, go for the tapers. He's not as excited about it as he was to clear the ritual, uh, location. He feels like it's more like labor intensive than he feels like doing, but, uh, he'll do it. And he's, he's looking forward to it more than carrying water, which seems like the most boring thing on the planet. Well, you were supposed to, you were supposed to, um, gather with you, Imech, the young girl who knows about animals. Yes. That's right. Oh, yes. Let's do that. Hello. Hi, I'm Ike. Hi, I'm Ike. Hello, I'm Ike. I will take you to where the tapers were last seen. Yes. Yes. Thank you. I spoke to a butterfly yesterday. What did she say? She said that the, uh, uh, is, she is eagerly awaiting, uh, the honeysuckle to bloom, uh, so that the great nectar, uh, the best nectar can come to her. Uh, she, she is very happy at the dawning of the spring. I bet she's so excited. I bet she said a very long, cold winter, just like us. I made my hands into wings and fluttered them. And she knew, she knew that I meant her no harm. That is very good, Imech. I made myself as small as possible. You know, sometimes with winged things, you should try to create arms that, uh, resemble wings. They respond to that well. You know, Imech, I do not think I knew that. So thank you very much for teaching me something. It's too bad we didn't have this conversation yesterday. Yes. I tried to speak to some crows, uh, some ravens yesterday. And I, uh, I got mixed up with my crow and I accidentally offended them. Crows can be very difficult to deal with. Yes. Very smart and proud creatures. Did you offer them something shiny? Alas, I had nothing shiny on me. This is a gift that can help. Always I am thinking, what does this creature want? You know, once I met a woodchuck in, uh, near a river. Oh gosh. And it was a very interesting encounter. She would chuck, well it wanted wood, but of course I didn't know that. So we went around. So, uh, Imech starts telling a long story and it is a long walk to where she was taking you. And the story like doesn't ever, it doesn't ever have an ending. It just goes on to the next thing that she remembers. She talks about talking to trout. She talks about talking to squirrels. She talks about letting a rabbit out of a snare and then grown up getting angry with her. She goes on and on and on. Raga is listening, just fascinated. She's very used to talking. I want to know everybody's reaction. Raga is listening with rapt attention. What about everybody else? Yelka during all of this would like to pull Olog back a little and not pay attention to this conversation at all and instead say, how are you feeling? Olog, did you, did you have any bad dreams last night after what happened? Uh, yeah. Olog is, he is a, no, no, these creatures have no sway over me. And you could probably tell that he's lying probably. Yeah. It's okay if you did though. I have bad dreams about mom all the time. Do I know what I, when did mom die? Oh gosh, such a good question. Well you've been with us since you were an year 12 and I'm 16. I think you knew her. Okay. So I think it's been, let's say five years. Let's say I was 11 when, when this happened. Um, say, yes, I don't remember very well, but I miss her too. And we are here. Oh, but I neglected to find out if Aowall was listening or not. Were you listening Aowall to Imex story? No, I think Aowall tuned her out. Slowly tuned her out and just couldn't, yeah, he's just like thinking. He's imagining the North. Can't stop thinking of what this thing is pointing to, right? Like he's imagining it's pointing to a thing or a place and he's like, I want to go, I want to go see it. I want to go see what it's pointing to. And he, he knows. He's having his Moana moment. Yeah. He knows that this is just like looking at the sunset. Yeah, just like Moana too. He knows this has gotten him in trouble in the past and not like funny trouble, like real trouble. Real trouble. He's wandered off and he's gotten in real trouble and gotten people hurt and stuff like that. So like he's trying to like shake off the feeling, but it is so innate and it's earning inside of him. And he can't possibly listen to this Woodchuck story. The tapers were last seen here. Thank you so much Imex. Is there anything you know about tapers, about what they like and do not like and their personality? Any advice for how to, you know, lower them back, make them want to come? Tapers are sad and they have a lot of gas. Do not mention it. Okay, we won't. We won't then. I don't know that you need this, Raga. I don't know. You really got Paul up, man. Oh my God. Raga, I don't know that you need this. But I would like you to make a will save because you listened to all of Imex's story. Okay. Well, luckily I'm an expert in will saves. Only a 13. Only a 13, she says. Okay. Let's see. Yeah, never mind. To even you, to even you, Raga, the story got kind of boring. Okay. And so you find yourself near a grove with big, thick foliage kind of, you know, to the north and you know that the tapers were here recently. Imex waves goodbye and goes running back to camp. What do you do? So I have imprecise scent because I am a feral child. And you have said, Jared, that these tapers or rather Imex said that these tapers have a flatulence problem. So then you might be smelling. And so the range is only 30 feet. But if we are up, if they're downwind, if we're upwind and they're flatulent, you could double or even triple that range. Let me check their flatulent. It says flatulent in the core rulebook. Does it have the, do they have the flatulence training? Jared said it. Okay. Jared said it. Let me check if they're downwind or, yeah. Let me check if they had Indian last night. There are four directional directions. So I think that there's a 25% chance they are downwind. You may roll a perception check using your scent. 14. Yeah, there's a lot of odors here. Too smelly. All right, I'll try to emphasize. I'll go. And it will just start going. We'll start once again, stelting up through the forest. You're just moving. You're not bothering to track or anything. Yeah, yeah, he's going to do that too. But he's kind of walking up. And I don't think that I necessarily am implying that I need to go ahead without everybody. I think everybody can come with me. But he's happy to just like lead the way. And he's going quietly and looking at the ground. So do you want survival first or stealth first? Whichever you'd like. All right, he'll do stealth first just to see his pace. Let's say 16. And then survival next is a 7. Oh, okay. Yeah. You are. I'm in here. You're completely unaware of what might be where you're not. You don't see any footprints or anything. You're just walking. And you said you're walking to the north, right? Yes. There seems to be a path through the trees. There is a sort of beaten down path through the trees. A game trail. Are the rest of the scouts following him? Yeah, Yelko will follow. But as we go, she's going to be looking at like little branches along the edge of the path and see if anything looks like it's like been broken by these giant tapers trying to move through to see if we can see. It looks like a big animal moves through this foliage regularly. And that is why there's sort of a path here. That's what this path is. So we wouldn't know. It's a regular path. Yelko's like, oh, I can't tell how recently it's been used. And I'm also going to have told Baba to stay behind because we're trying to herd these tapers and I don't want him to scare them. So I've told Baba to just like relax and hide in the bushes. Very good. Awal, you finally come to where there's a break in the trees and bushes. And looking around the corner, you see huge creatures, two of them. Oh my God, they're so big. And they look like, here's what they look like. Maybe you can see them now. Yeah, yeah. Yes, classic taper profile. Right. A beautiful taper profile. It's like a bear mixed with a rhinoceros, but with a huge anteater's face. The brown fur and kind of a leathery skin. And one of them goes. And now you can smell them. And now they turn toward Awal and they're sniffing the air. And you can see that something's wrong with them. They seem to be in pain. And that's where we'll stop for today. Oh no. My taper friends. God damn it. I want to get to the bottom of this. Save the tapers. Save the tapers. In our next episode, two giant tapers will die. Not if we do it right. See you at the tundra. Woo! Woo! Woo! Woo!
