Summary

Bryson Tiller discusses his journey from working warehouse jobs at UPS and Papa John's to becoming a platinum-selling R&B artist with 15 million records sold on a single. He reflects on overcoming industry challenges, the importance of life experiences in songwriting, fatherhood, and his passion project—a video game called Brutal Industry that satirizes the music business.

Insights
  • Taking breaks from music pursuit to handle adult responsibilities (job, child support) paradoxically led to more authentic, mature songwriting grounded in real life experiences
  • The music industry's legal and contractual complexities create significant stress for artists, with disputes arising from unclear collaboration agreements and publishing rights
  • Artist growth and evolution should be celebrated, not resisted by fans seeking nostalgia; audiences expecting artists to remain static ignore the natural maturation that comes with life changes
  • Social media criticism and viral negativity are inevitable parts of success and can be leveraged as free marketing if artists reframe them as part of the game
  • Fatherhood fundamentally shifts an artist's creative motivation from personal ambition to providing for dependents, creating a different but equally powerful hunger
Trends
Artists diversifying into gaming and interactive media as creative outlets and storytelling platforms beyond traditional music releasesGrowing awareness of publishing rights and contractual exploitation in music industry, with younger artists seeking education on these issuesFan expectations for artist stagnation conflicting with natural artistic evolution and maturation over timeSocial media's role in amplifying both support and criticism, with artists learning to use negative attention as marketing fuelShift from early-career hunger driven by scarcity to mature-career motivation driven by responsibility and legacy-buildingStudio mastery and production knowledge becoming competitive advantages for artists seeking creative controlPerformance anxiety and stage presence as learnable skills that take 5-6+ years to develop for studio-focused artistsRelationship experiences and emotional vulnerability as primary creative fuel for R&B artists in modern era

Listen man, this one... Yeah, me a fucking young legend. I've seen a performance. I'm going to talk with Chris Brown and Philly. It was crazy. It was anywhere too, and now... Fucking women was in that bitch passing up. It was crazy. It was crazy. It was about... And then he just was going in, not knowing the stage when he just had sweatpants going just going in and it was just like, it was just so real. It was just like... But you know, the seaweed came from the way I now. And he just so regularly chill about it. It's just like... It's natural. It's just like... You just be like, ah... I ain't even trying to... Who we got on the shield of this? Listen man, that boy Bryce, that boy Bryce, that boy... You already know the fucking's going on. Like this boy got the number one cellar-norin-be single in the history of life. You know, so that's a lot. Yeah, that's a lot. We got 15 million sold on one single. Like, how has the journey felt? Challenging. A lot of times, a real... Brutal. Listen, yeah, I was the best with the word. The brutal part, where that come from? Just from all the things that I've... Man, I just got so many industry, horror stories. It just feels like it's always something happening specifically. I mean, it's only industry I'm here right now. But yeah, in the music industry, just always something going on with legal... Legal shit, you know. Shit outside of legal, you know, street shit. Shit that I've never even been a part of, you know, I'm just like that. I can't believe that music and business is driving people to these points to put me in the middle of some shit. So, like, I've been going through a lot of shit like that since the beginning. Yeah, it's been stressful. But, you know, you give an example of like maybe some of one of the examples that you can talk about. One of the examples I can talk about? Um... I don't want to say. Okay, you know what I mean? You might have given an example and it might have been some game in there. Yeah, you're a younger artist in the future maybe going through and might go through and then... Well, just people just come out the world worst, man, just saying that they did this, they did that and they all just like... They feel like they miss the opportunity and they feel like... Maybe you slept on the couch one time and they're like, nah, because we had this. I gotta sue you for that and you owe me this and it just... You slept on it and we're from sleeping on the couch to a legal hit you tell my I rule have that joint. Yeah. No, you mean my shit, man, you was home with it and you slept on the couch to get you half of the piece of it. Right, right. You talking? No, no, cuss, because I know what he's talking about. I be a studio seeing that shit. Well, fuck me sitting there and think, nah, you should do this. Because you should do that and turn it to some points on the fuck. Oh, yeah, that's right. I got turned it to some pub deal. Yup. And this, no, I'm coming. Because they wrote a couple of J's and now they... They were the legal hit you, man. Yeah, it's crazy. It's just wild, but how do you stay focused and keep going though? I just stopped the way, man. I'm being a group, playing video games, kicking over my kids. I go through normal shit. You know, I'm signing and just... That's it. I don't really be bothered too much where everything is going on. But how do you stay creative with the music? When it comes to music. Oh, shit. You know, I... You know, just life experiences, you know. I'm mostly right about, you know, relationship shit. And, you know, I'm always going. We always going through some shit like that. Yeah. So that's how I stay inspired when it comes to that. Because you in the studio, you... Come on, man. You ain't got too much releases, you'll probably... Come on, man. You ain't got too much releases, you'll probably... I think we all doing this real mess. Some type of problems. Oh, that was loud. Yeah, and I'm definitely always going through some, you know what I'm saying. But, cool. Joe and I. He always go through some hard to manage. When you first came into the game, right? Yeah. In the success of, you know, Trapp's home and don't... Like, how would you... How was it for you, you know? Coming from being a regular guy, just working, doing your thing. And now you want to roll your tour. Everybody playing your shit. How was it for you? It wasn't you like working there like... Like, I want to see like a dominoos and something. Yeah, I was working there, Papa John's. A lot of jobs. And you PS. And you PS. Yep. You PS is where I was at first. I had a part-time job there, but that wasn't paying the bills. And it was doing what I needed to do. So I was like, all right, let me get another job. So my homeboy, Joe, to put me on with Papa John's full time. So I got a job there at Quit UPS. And it wasn't like delivering peaches or making peaches. It was like the warehouse where like we send the dough to the... To the... To the rip... To Papa John's side. I can make them. But when you was working for UPS, you was doing drop-offs. Nah. Nah, that's the job everybody want. But I was loading trucks. Trappers. So when you bought loads of trucks, was you singing them? Yeah, I was actually... What did you take to sing people that shit? Huh? Nah. Nah. I was trying to be low-key about it because I stopped music at that point. I made music from like 17 to 19 and then I was like, this shit ain't working out. I had a kid on the way, so I was like, let me get a job and just be a normal dude. Or whatever. And just do something that's really going to pan out and work out for me. So I didn't want nobody to know that I made music before. And eventually my supervisor, she was a girl named Stavis, she found out. And she was like, she called me to the break. I actually put me on my truck, she said, why should I come on the show? And I went to the computer and it was my reverb nation page. I don't even know if y'all know what that is. Yeah, you remember that? And I was like, I was mad about it because I was like, that ain't like... That's my old life, I don't really do that no more. But I'm like, you know what I mean? But I would be still in my trailer just singing and just writing, rap, and shit. And praying about it. What changed? What changed your mind? I said from, oh, I'm going to be sending this dough out. I'm going to be working at UPS to like, fuck it, I got to get back to this shit. I got it. What made you quit? I got to thank my friends for that, you know, because I... You know what I think is the people that I was calling, that I was calling, asking for money to help me out whenever I was like the check wouldn't... I might have had like a like a check that week or whatever or didn't get that many hours, I'd be like, you got $20 or you got $40 and... On that day it was just like, nah, you know, I can't, I ain't got it for you, you know, you got to... You got to get back into that studio and I was real down, I was really down bad, like crying, you know what I mean, trying to figure out what I was going through. And I think them telling me, no, I didn't get mad at them, I was just like more like, okay, you right, I got to figure something out. I mean, they really ain't having shit in England. They probably did have it, but I've asked them a lot, you know, whenever you were $20, maybe. Yeah, I was killing it. What else I got? 20 June, yeah. Yeah, you know, it was good. Yeah, yeah. But there was moments where it was just like, you know, I felt like it was time for me to do something about it and make a change. Being broke was what maybe it'd be like, I'm going to get back into the studio. Literally the first song I made was Don't. And you went to the fucking moon? Yeah, crazy. And you know what was crazy? You did some shit that people won't do. People ain't doing it shit today. You said, man, had to go be a man, had to get a kid, had to go be a real job. A lot of them are supposed to be like, fuck, I look out for my kid when I get him, I'm going to be a rapper, I'm going to be artists. Especially in this day in time, what? I got to choose my dreams, I ain't going to choose the responsibilities. What? This thing? Yeah. Yeah, I was seeing that a lot. I've seen that a whole lot. And sometimes I don't realize, man, you might get so into it. I wrote so many reps, trying to just, you know what I mean? Like just do the normal thing and I got so much inspiration from doing that. Yeah. And sometimes you need to just like, you know, step away from the foresector. You might get more creative. You might, I don't know, I just think that when you're trying to force some, well, sometimes it don't work. You know, sometimes it'd be like this too. You know, you could grow up, right? And you could be making music, but when you were a kid, you don't really know who you is. Yeah. You don't know who you are as a kid. So you just make it music that you think is high. Or you think people want to hear from you or you think. And then you said, yeah, by the time when you're 18 or something, you stop this something. Now you're doing grown man, life shit. Yeah. You pay in bills. So from the time you was 14 or 13 or whatever you started up until 18, you was on some kid shit. Yeah. Then you had to go get a job and be on some grown man shit. Now you looking at life from a whole different from fucking perspective. Absolutely. You got a child, you got a baby mom or a girlfriend. She, y'all going back and forth. Y'all arguing, that's what really started that emotional shit in you that started making songs about relationships and shit. I think. If you don't go through those things, if you don't got to go get that job, if you don't know the feeling of being told, no, naked, you got to get it on your own, you got to get in that motherfucker's student. You might not never be this person. So a lot of times, my fuckers got to accept a journey in life. You needed that. You feel what I'm saying. You needed to go through things. I got a child, a responsibility. So now when you go in and you make your music, this shit got a whole different purpose. Now you feel what I'm saying. This ain't just about a young kid having some fucking fun. Looking at my fuckers wanting to beat him. That's the motherfucker that discovered who the fuck I am. And I'm about to go ahead and talk about some real shit. Exactly. I said that when I started making music again, I was like, man, I need to, my music needs to mature. I was like, whatever I was doing at first, I had these some different. And then, yeah, I just switched up the whole sound to be honest. I was 17 to 18. I was just singing, singing. It was really singing. That was what I was obsessed with. And then I had, I remember I had a performance that I had to do for my girlfriend at the time. I was 18th birthday. And I was just, it was embarrassing because I was just like, I want that in out of the form at all. And I was like, they just kind of threw me out there and I was nervous. And I was like, you know what? I don't think I'm a singer, singing, man. I think I need to like mix like some rap with it. And just like kind of like, hide my singing ability a little bit. But still sing, but like, you know, just hide it a little bit. And be more like a rapper who knows how to sing, you know what I'm saying? So that was like the direction I went with it. And I start like you said, start talking about some different shit, right? And I mean, and I think all of that, what you just did is- But then you just think you have the only grill one day, huh? Yeah, yeah. It's a perfect thing. Go ahead and get out there and sing you out there. Happy burning. Happy burning. Happy burning. Happy burning. That's the day you discovered all of the fuck this was singing shit. I'm going to do some melodies and add a little singing. Yeah. But honestly, bro, a lot of times with singers, that be the worst part of them. A lot of motherfuckers want to over sings shit. Every line ain't going to drag it out. Ooh, talking to the needed, that joint just needed to stop right there. I want to be with you, baby. And then I want to baby. Like, it was a lot of like- But that'd be a problem a lot of times with singers. They over sings shit because they want to prove that they can sing. So that's another experience in every lesson is a blessing. You got out there over sang and this is you know what, man? Let me dumb this shit down a little bit. Yeah, I feel like I was super necessary in the work. So, you know. How was it for you like, you know, getting this, you know, like you come out, no problem. You're touring. You getting into the industry. How was it for you to first stage? The entry level shot. Tough, man. I was nervous. Like, it was kind of the same as the 18th birthday party. I had to push me on stage. I was opening for Travis Scott. Like, I think we'd be like, believe this one. He was still on like house of blues. Yeah, it decided to be used. And they pushed me out there and I was actually shocked to see that people knew a couple of the songs. I was like, thank people, know this? And that was confidence. Yeah, still a little bit of confidence. I mean, to be like, okay, maybe. But you know, honestly, I didn't really warm up to the stage for about five, six years or something like that. It took me a long time because performance arts really challenged into doing, you know. I always been a studio geek. Just in there, just trying to figure out how to put things together. Like, you can work so much magic in a studio, you know what I mean? And I just learned how to do almost everything. And, you know, yeah, it took me a while. Because I used to be uncomfortable with talking to people on stage. Like, I remember I used to have lines that I would be rehearsing backstage. I didn't really talk to be all just like trying to remember what I wrote down. And it always sounded rehearsed. And, yeah, I was like, I got to stop doing that. I got to just talk to people. You know, the breezy ball, like, I just got more comfortable. It was just talking from the heart. You know what I mean? What year was that when I finally got company? Yeah. I would say, uh... Actually, probably 2022, which was longer than five years. Like six years. But now when you look back at it, right? When you finally came out your shell and just did you. When you look back at it, you like... It wasn't that hard. I could have been through this. Yeah. I was looking back at it and I realized that people like... Really just... They fuck with me. You know what I'm saying? Right. And they dare to see me. I used to think that like... I couldn't... I was scared to be like... Make some noise. I was scared to say that because I was like, that's what they don't make no noise. Like that would be the type of shit that I'd be thinking about. And they would probably live in like... What are you making no noise? You know what I'm saying? Like I was just... In my head. I was like, damn, I can't say that. It just feels corny. And really, they just dare to just show me that they fuck with me. Right. They fuck with me. And you know, over time, I just got comfortable with just... It just seemed like through the process, you was always over thinking. Yeah. Absolutely. Yeah. And did you have anybody like... Well, nigga, you over-think it. Yeah, yeah. I was like, yeah, yeah. All my people were saying that to me. You know? I didn't stop until 2020 when my granny passed. That's when I was like, I mispoint on, I got it. I'm out of my head on. I'm moving out of my head. Like, you know, I don't doubt myself at all. And it's really just been a slow, like a snowball effect of like, where my confidence has grown, you know, from now. I mean, from 2020 all the way up until now, it's just like, right. I ain't really nothing, nobody can say it to me, no matter what they say. When you go to the studio, it would inspire you. Like, when do you pull inspiration from? Because you know, time changed so much. Yeah. Especially in today's society with social media, it's like, shit changing, people might have said, like, how do you stay like, what do you pull from? Like I said earlier, I'd just be pulling from, you know, the relationships you should have gone through. But sometimes also, like, I'll try to get creative and write about, you know, just create scenarios in my head, which is usually challenging, but like, some of my friends of mine might be going through something and I'd be like, dang, that might be a cool concept or whatever, but like, you know, for the most part, I really only try to go in there when I'm really feeling something. Otherwise, it's not real to me. You know, a lot of people hit me up for features or whatnot, and I'll be trying to do them, but like, it'd be like, like right now, I think I got like 10 features of a record. And they all different songs talking about different things. I'm just like, damn, how do I come to your world real quick? And like, you know what I mean? So it don't, anything, you know, because I do want to listen to, you know, the person to like, enjoy what the hell is going on, and I don't want to just like, stick out, stand out like a sore thumb. So, I'd be waiting, like I said, I'll just wait on the real experiences. Hmm. Now, now. What does new album like? What did you feel going into this like, you know? Because you've been in the game so much, and you do whatever it would be to the point where you'd be like, I did so much yesterday with my success. Is it something to get mine? So tell me, I got a battle and beat this shit out from the past. No, I don't feel that way. I used to feel that way with my second album. A little bit with my third album. But like I said, that was the, my third album was a point where I was, it on Madden. it on Madden, I'm just going to keep going. Like, but, I don't feel that way no more, man. I just do it, bro. You know, fans of Fentykey, like, people, everybody like what they like, you know, some people would be chasing nostalgia. You know, Jay-Z, you got some of the best lines when it come to that. If you want my old shit, buy my old album. It's really simple, you know? Some people, it's the most simple, it's the most simple shit, you know what I mean. Like, people be trying to like, I think Tata created it said some shit. Some shit one time about like, if you got the drug here, like, this is the original drug, you know what I mean? Why do you want like, some manufactured shit that's trying to like, imitate the original drug, you know what I'm saying? It's just like, this is it right here. Go back to that. Yeah, go take that shit. You know what I'm saying? And then we're going to make some new shit over here. But, no, I don't feel like that at all. Because you know. Uh, we want the old such and such. Yeah. It's like, wait, hold on. You, you, you want me when I was fucked up living in a fucking studio, or part of me didn't want to fuck you. I was gonna be my rent. Well, buddy, I can't never go fucking back in it. I got a 10,000 square foot fucking house. I can never get that fucking fucking hunger back. I didn't build on 11,000 tours. What the fuck are you talking about? It don't make sense. It's like, people don't want to allow you to grow. Yeah. It's crazy. Because if you ask those same people, like, yo, you know, you'd be exactly who you was 10 years ago. A lot of them will be like, not. Right. It's like, yeah, my nigga, you was getting high 10 years ago. Now you got a fucking family with wife and kids. You, you was a fucking, you was a homeless sexual 10 years ago, right? You was fucked in a bitchful place to stay, man. Now you, now you, life support, you want to go back to that? So, that shit is not going to make no sense when a motherfucker is like, I want the old you, like, I'm 30, you, you, what the nigga that was 19? Yeah. That's not going to happen. Yeah. And they always want to say to you like, oh, you, you just not hungry on what the truth is, like, I'm not hungry. Like, that, no more like, it's different. Right. I got a different type of hunger now. Yeah, that's what you need. And my wife got a different type of power. The hunger still be there because the motherfucker is working. But I got a different type of power. Back then I was eating out the motherfucking Chinese store, three wings, fried rice, wings for our hearts, all up and ketchup. Now, I'm in fucking, the best restaurants. I mean, shit, I can't even pronounce. Shit don't even look like it's supposed to be eaten. I don't even know if this shit's cooked or not. So, so, so you got a disheartvelling now. Yeah. Is, is you living a different life? Yeah. You feel what I'm saying? Like, did I even know what fucking artwork was? Now, I got a million dollars work for two million dollars work for artwork on the wall. You don't want me to change my pilot and people get stuck. And what's so crazy is they are saying that and they'll be the same age as you. Yeah. Like, Niggie, you didn't grow at all, Niggie. That you still want to listen to the 19-year-old me. So, that should just be, because sometimes it just be like, I don't make sense to me. Yeah. Craziness they can though. Like, that's what they be forget. It's like, you can literally just go on Apple Music and just relive it. Relive it. Relive it. I mean, they want you to be there. Yeah. I just feel like if you do it with Christmas music, why not do it with them? With my first album, you know? Whatever album it is that you feel like I need to go back to, like, you know, we listen to the same Christmas music right here and feel, you know, and be happy. But like, when it comes to other artists and shit, like, yeah, we like, now you need to do this sound again. You need to do that. Yeah. It's like, I'm the type of artist. I'm a real genuine fan of artists. But, you know, if they don't make somebody shit that I was like, I fell in love with them for, I'm not about to switch up on them and be like, nah, you ain't making sound. I don't focus you no more. Like, but it be seeming like fans, they just, that's how they are these days. It's like, you know, like, it's really not that hard to just like, even listen to the old shit, or just go find some new shit, those two. You know what I'm saying? It's like so much music on Apple Music that they ain't even discovered yet. But, you know, everybody, you know, the problem, so you need to give everybody a voice. Yeah. You feel what I'm saying? So, everybody's excited. So, like, the one thing that an artist should never get caught up in is what they talk about on social media. You feel me? Because, you know, I had to tell I had to tell one of my little bros me. I said, you know, he went through a thing where he was going to add him on social media, and this and that, this and that, this and that, this and that. And then, in the midst of all that, you came out at a mother fucking show, and Nickus was falling out the ramp, doesn't it, my fuck? So, it's two different perceptions out here. It's what they talk about on social media, and what they talk about in the real world. You know, you feel what I'm saying? Because, my fuck is a good a whole propaganda demo on social media. You can pay for that. You can't pay for this love that you get in the real world. When you come out at them kinds of the... You see them at the breezy boys. You see them at the breezy. Oh, yeah. It was crazy in that, Charlie, yeah, man. I was talking about it every single night on stage, man. I don't care what I say about those men, CB. Like, what they say, I never ever talked about the issues. But, like, look around, like, it's a stadium full of people in your neighborhood. You know, I'm not talking about You go through. This big body. Try to dalk him out on social media. Yeah. I know. I know. But, you know, I'm saying. You go through. This big body. Try to dalk him out on social media. Yeah. I know. But, you know, fence. You got real fence. life. You know, it'd be the later my fuckers that come in don't really know your story don't they be here today, here for a year, here for two years that, nah, my fuckers that came and when you was fresh out of delivery and sending that dough and did you came in the studio made their bracket and they seen you and you ain't had shit and they gonna be around forever man. Yeah. They don't they don't fuck with you for nothing material list, dig, that they fuck with your sound. Yeah. And you know what be crazy about is like one thing about social media is like the people, the people that genuinely rock with you, they're not in the comments on the dumb shit. Cause the people are really fuck with you they ain't no one at all. Then be people that don't even fail, even fuck with you, just come out and nobody. Oh man. They made the same. Who the fuck is you? Who made you a critic? Yeah. Like where did you get your proof of concept that you're a critic and even so called musical critics be wrong? Yeah. They go with the wave. All this shit and then the funny thing about all this shit, all this shit can be bought these days. You don't know who you don't know where to shit come from. I don't know what shit I don't know how you try. You know, you got the cloud chaser. So it's like your people fuck with you, they fuck with you. They won't do it all of them. High highs. Five. That's probably like one of the most challenging parts. But you know, just because you know, man, my daughter, my oldest daughter, she 12 now. When I came into the game, she was, she yeah, she was two years old. So like, you know, she, she sees me often, you know what I mean? But like, it's not the same as it was when I was like back home, like we was best friends, you know, around each other all the time. Like, and we say, got good relationship, you know, we still do things together. But like, you know, I'm always having to be on the road and that's the most challenging part, like having to go out on tour. And she comes out on tour with me sometimes. I do literally everything I can. But like, sometimes I do be on that that normal, you know, life of just waking up and just, you know, just doing what normal, normal dad's do. But, you know, I always said that I just, I want to give her the best life possible. And she's really my biggest inspiration of my kids. You know, when I used to watch her sleep in the crib, when she was two years old, or one years old, I used to be like, man, like I'm the only, like I got a figure out how to keep a roof over it if the rest of my life. Like in that alone, she's maybe be like, dang, like, I got it, I got to get it. I got to go hard, you know, whatever it takes. And, you know, I got, I got to like to show for you know, and I think now she's at the age of my five year old. She, I know, she just, you know, but my 12 year old look, some snacks just show up. Blue Diamond Amiens and more shows out. Amiens, cashews and pistachios in bold flavors like honey roasted, smokehouse and roasted sea salt freshness guaranteed and clutch in crunch time every bite. Try blue diamond amiens and more, the flavorful nuts. She's like, dang, like my dad worked really hard. When she look around and she, you know, not that it's just about material things, but just the way we live our life, you know, the way we're able to do certain things. So I think she gets it now and we have a better relationship because of it. That's deep. You know, fatherhood is, fatherhood is a process. Yes. Yeah. See, the, the, the greatest years of fatherhood is from like birth to like, 14. Yeah. Then when the boys come involved, I got two girls. So it, it even went to boys. When the girls get involved, it's just like, one day I came downstairs, my son was sitting there. He was eating cereal. And I walked him, I said, what's up? And the nigga said, now what you doing? I was like, nigga, hugging you. What the fuck do you mean? You grow right there. What I tell you, right from the, I said, you got some ass. You upgraded from them. Teddy sucks. You got some. I knew he had socks and titties. You know, I mean, but right then I knew you upgraded from them. Teddy sucks. I can't even hug you no more. You were, you were fucking man now because you stick got wet. Like literally, I said, something and the nigga said, like, what is you doing? The fuck you mean, but I'm doing. That's how they change overnight. It's unbelievable, bro. And then it's like he, they go from your low man, it's my low man, it's my low man. To now was like, didn't niggas walk in house? It was up there. All right. Yeah. Yeah. You know, so, like, it's crazy. You like, so get ready, bro. Yeah. Get into that. It's getting to that age, man. Where they make changes in the craziest part about life, man, is you could be the best parents in the world. You could be the worst parents in the world. When a child gets to be grown, they won't do exactly what the fuck they want to do. Two. Like, I'm pretty sure you know some kids or some grown-ass men now who they had the best opportunities. Freight mom, Freight dad, Quirthing the Grey Household, Niggateron, 18 years old, Niggamond do sell drugs. So you could be one of the best parents. You could be one of the worst parents. This kids out here that got, they ain't got no parents. They grew up in foster homes. They was bouncing from here to here to here, but they, they productive. They figured it out. They figured it out. So that's one thing about being parent. Yeah. You could do all the right things and you could get to your kids could become adults and they do all the wrong. Yeah. And you, it can be the most confused and shit in the world. You'd be like, I raise you like this. What's it? But paying the dealt now and they won't do what the fuck they wanted to do. Yeah. So it's hard being a parent brother. You know what I'm saying? It's real. You like that. You just got to, you just, he never really nervous. You just got to hope as a parent that your kids take all the shit that you went still to them and really take it really apply in their life. Yeah. Because you can still a bunch of shit and they could become in the dealt with this like they never heard none of that shit growing up. Yeah. And then they'd be doing dumb shit and you'd be like, oh, fuck, did you do it? And it just be like, so get ready. Which is a favorite song. I'm a manual. Probably probably a probably a song called a Anita. Maybe right now. I think maybe that's because I'm probably listening to it. Maybe that one. How did it come about? Kind of remember that studio session? Yeah. I remember I had to beat for a minute. And I love it because it just gave me like a 90s 80s feel. And I was like, man, I'm a, you know, it was really making me think about Anita Baker when I was listening to it. Anita. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. So I was like, you know, I'm going to catch up five and I was just jamming out to Anita Baker all day. And I love Anita Baker. So I was like, you know, I just kind of made a play on the words I need her. And I just kind of wrote a song about about needing, you know, a specific person as much as I need them. Anita songs on my playlist, you know, so I rock with them the most probably right now. Me and no Anita. Who else? Who else? Who is your top five? My top five. Yeah. Artists period like R&B. R&B. C.B. It's like a little breezy in it. Yeah. I'm going to say C.B. first dream. Art Kelly. Man. That's three right. It's hard, bro. So I know there's a couple that's coming on my mind, but like those are ones that really like right away. I mean, it's a crazy question. I go. That's all you got. We're going to put you in there. That's four. Well, I'm not my, you know, I can't count myself. I'm trying to count the people that maybe be like, yo, I got it, you know what I'm saying? But they get the 15 million record sold on one single. You yourself. You're out through the end. That's all I can think of right now. At this moment. You ready for this question? Yeah. Who better? Yeah. Where actually the twin who? Chris Brown and Michael Jackson. I'm the worst person to have this conversation with. I think Chris Brown is me. It was already. Because this is why. Mike was a bad boy. Fucking man. He was dancing the shit man. But it's like this boy C.B. And I ain't just talking about music. I'm somebody dead. It's my foot. He danced for five hours straight, man. Yeah, I ain't going to angle my men. That nigga dancing whole time. Just feed off. He got some bad feet, man. I don't know which feet fuck up. No, you know what the fuck was even more crazy. This nigga danced the whole Titanic movie. I'm talking about this nigga. I'm like what the fuck man? Hand stands, head stands. Fucking summer salts. This one. And then the nigga wants to wear after part. It's tournament season and every game feels like an upset waiting to happen. But there's a clear number one seed in the snack bracket. Blue Diamond, Amin's, and more. This ain't no play in nut mix. It's Amin's cashews and pistachios in top tier blue diamond flavors. Like honey roasted, smokehouse, and roasted sea salt. Freshness guaranteed. Five grams of protein per serving. No filler. No weak links. The official snack of the Big Ten is a dominant mix from tip off to the final whistle. Upgrade your snack game with blue diamond, Amin's, and more. The flavorful nut mix. I need my fucking feet. I'm gonna be screaming. Fucking screaming. Damn nigga. What a dancing tip. Two hours straight here. Yeah, he's gonna be like, fuck it. And then, like literally three hours straight. Yeah. And then the nigga wants to the after party. He was in there rocking the bike. I'm like, this nigga different. That's why I did that video when I said, I don't know what type of sheep you nigga you athlete. Niggas is in. But ain't no the u-niggas in the sheep. This nigga Chris Brown is in. Not a little brine. No fucking body man. That's actually a perfect segue into my answer to your question. Go ahead. Which I don't think you're gonna like it at all. But yeah, I don't really believe in that debate at all just because, you know, a lot of time people really treat the music industry like it supports us on. It's really not like. I mean, it's hard. You know, it's not a LeBron versus Kobe or LeBron versus Jordan type of conversation. Like it's literally art. Like it's something where we go out there. And we, you know, got to put points up and it's like averages that you can compare and rings and all that shit. You know, I know that they look at our numbers and whatnot, but none of that shit really even matters when it comes to art. And, you know, performance and entertaining people, you know, it's a little different. So, I mean, I was strictly talking about dancing though. Dancing? I'm talking about dancing. It's talking about the music. Who do I think is a better dancer? Me, damn, you're fucking cool. Like, he. I mean, I'm fucking dancing five hours straight, man. Well, I mean, nigga, the way, like, Mike ain't fucked it. He didn't do that shit for five hours straight, man. I'm fucking talking about nigga, Mike, what's up? I don't know. I think they got both got different, they both got different stuff. nigga, Mike did shit. nigga, fucking boom. If I saw Mike, if I saw Mike do almost all the new dance trends and stuff, then that'd probably be a better, then I could probably ask. But you know, Mike, come on, bro, you know that's Mike. It was still so crazy. It's so amazing. It wasn't crazy. What I'm saying is, but it's two levels of dancing. All right. Let's just be for real. So we talk about a nigga dancing in the fucking 80s, bro. All right. And a nigga dancing in the 2000s. The development of dancing is totally different. Think about it. These niggas break dance. They did this little shit, a couple little windmills. Them niggas was the shit. Now these niggas is doing different. I'm like, a nigga who's spitting on his fucking head for 30 minutes straight. And be really spinning like a motherfucking bottle top. And it's shit different. So Chris Brown is he is like the modern day Michael Jackson. You feel me if Mike was born in these times, too, he would be doing the same shit that these niggas is doing. Trust me. Yeah. I have this conversation with him too. And we got the elephant. Some some. I don't know what we might do. I don't know. No, I don't think we don't think we. I could have swore I saw. Mike's name might have came up. He's been in a lot of ways. I have to do shit. I actually think Chris is back as deeper for sure when it comes to dancing. You know, you know, I'm like, I mean, that's just really all I have to say. I think Chris is the goal of this era. You know what I mean? Yeah. I think that he's like that motherfucking dude. That's the niggas is going on the Nina tours. That niggas going on the stadium. So I mean, can you do that? You know, I mean, that's like different. You know what I mean? It's different. So I ain't going live. I was there and you performed. Mm-hmm. And that shit was different. It was powerful. It was definitely different for me because I'm not used to performing daytime. But you said performing one word dim lights or whatnot. You know, I've been kind of spoiled. Like I've been like this. Like you said, the day one fans that I just been from a like, like, I'm used to going out there to me and all my fans. And I just, you know, same way they was happy to see you, bro. Like, that's how it is with me. But like, you know, that's bro. So like, this is first stadium tour. So I got to, I got to. But you got to understand this, right? This is a big fact in music, right? If when you come out to Jess, your fans, you ain't gain enough. You have no opportunity to gain a list. Yeah. Because everybody is just here to see you. So now, you know how many people might not have even heard about you in that show. Because they, Chris Brown on a radar, they might have heard about you but not familiar with your music. Right. And then, you know, that's not easy. And then you know, right? Right. And then you come out and you sing it. And a girl like, I wasn't really up on him. But she looked into it, right? And she said, it is other girls in this section. And they sing it, that shit. And she like, oh, I'm slipping out here. He is the shit. It's an opportunity to broaden your fan base. That's what people on this day. I had to break it down to Friday because he said, you know, I'm going to be coming out, you know, only like, you know, 25, 30% of the stadium be normal. Shit. And I'm like, that's what you want. You want an opportunity to grow your fan base, bro. You know what I'm saying? So that was a beautiful opportunity for you. Because even though you saying like, they was going to, they was in that bitch making some noise for you. Like, being a, you like the damn, you don't know how bullshit you know. I'm bullying. That shit was rocking. That shit was rocking. Bro, that was there with Lil Bro right there. You was down there, right? Yeah. Off the monster. Yeah, it was back in the family, watching that shit. You was doing your thing, man. You know, I'm going to keep it all real. As I'm sitting here saying, you open my eyes up that night. Because I was up on you, but I didn't understand your motherfucking catalog. It was like that. It was, it was cool. So anytime another song come on, I'm like, you know what I'm saying? When you ain't got no Vegas, 30 minutes seem like two hours. You'd be like, this is making no noises, drive this. I'm trying to get out of here. That's right. Six minutes in. You like fuck. You know what I mean? So I can mean you, man, keep doing your thing. Keep doing your thing, man. You know what I mean? I love a humbleness, man, but you can tell me. You can, you can, you know what I mean? You can, you can, you can bring through the shell a little bit. It's cool to be close to me. I just ain't, I ain't really up in that type, you know. Some people call it through, they be mad. They're like, you know, you're popping shit. Oh, man, but I'm just going to be like, I'm just not typing. Look at it. Spingling. Where you going back on tour again? I go back on tour next year, summertime right now. I'm going to do some of my game. I'm designing the game. I don't know if you're out in New York about that year. What type of game? Huh? Type of game. It's a game about the music industry, actually. You know, we got the Joe Global Game Elite, we team on it. Outwork? You know, the game Elite. Yeah, Teapot. We got this Joe Clinton. Yeah. We're playing Spark's Wheel over there. He's on a real game. He's an exot in this. You see it's about the design. Yeah, yeah, it's about. What is it about? It's about the music industry. You know, it's fun. It's retro inspired. And you want to get a name all the way? It's called Brutal Industry. Brutal industry. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, so, so, what are we going to be able to like? Huh? I got it in my pocket. It's playable. You know, I played it every Friday. You know, we. Oh, so you got it. How can we? I have a song like in the next maybe year or something like that. And that's, that's what it comes up with. You know, bro, we're going to be in these cases from here. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. a phone is a phone. Okay, okay. Yeah, cuz I see this shit. I said I asked why I was to do what I said. What you said? That's why I was talking. I don't know what it's just a case. It's just a PC though. That's wrong. Around windows you can download extra files and whatnot. So it's going through the game? It'll go on all platforms. Yeah, everywhere. Yeah, everywhere. I'm not a platform. What did you come with this? You got a net jacket. I just this. What made you come over there? Just being in the tradition right here. Just being in the, you know, going through all the, I just think a lot of shit happened in music. It's just laughing. I'd be going through, sorry, shit. You were doing some shit in this joint, man. Huh? You had some musical nightmares, man. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. You wanted some shit to make you do a game about this shit. They ain't fucking playing with you. Yeah. It was coming out of your paper. Yeah, it's crazy. So basically I just, God damn. Yeah. I could only imagine, man. It's just going to sit all the time. I'm going to create a game. It's time to look at the email. You're like, oh, man. You're going to fuck this shit. What's the name of it, Brutal Nairs? Man, Brutal Industry. Brutal Industry. Brutal Industry. Brutal Industry. Brutal Industry. Brutal Industry. God damn. Yeah. Like, fuck is going to be on their planet too. It's probably going to be a wrap with these things. You're fucking punch-up on the seat. You know, body slam, going off the snap. Yeah, all that. All the seat, seat. You know? Yeah, because I'm like Brutal Industries. All right. Where we going with this? You got to be able to... He got all the motherfuckers that he gave me ass. We'll put these somebody else. No, it's just a... It's exciting, man. It's a dope story. I'm just a storyteller at the end of the day, so... I'm whether it's the music or video games or comic book, like, I just like to tell stories, so... I had a specific story to tell about the music industry. Through this one, the games, I started it back in 2020, and I've been working on it ever since, so... And when is it released? Probably in 2027. Something like that. And it's diggin' up. He got a mass to the game first. You're going to be playing it for two years already. Man, it's important to me. It's not really about the money, like, it's a passion project for me, and like, it's my first game. So, like, I want it to be... I want it to be happy with it, you know, as long as I can play it, and I'm thoroughly happy with it. That's all that matters to me, so... As soon as I reach that point... And you are a gamer. What game is you the best at? Am I the best at? Probably Apex Legends, I don't know if you know what that is. Probably not. Something that's about a Royal Yon. You get my Caucasian producers. Yeah. See my Caucasian producers? Do you like this? First person shooter. A new season just came out the day, so I played that tonight. Yeah, that, I mean, I... COD. I like Kai, but I'm more of an Apex guy, because it's like... You see the... He's called in Kai. That's what they call it. That's what they call it. That's what they call it. Yeah. How do they call it COD? Oh, man, we got... Oh, what? Mad body? I'll be here. You'll play NFL. You'll play NFL Street? I don't know what they are. I just know what Madness. I'll be here. The fuck out of here. Plus you scored one time. You ain't being here. I was beaten, you man. Because I wasn't playing. I ain't know what the fuck I was doing. That was my first time grabbing at you. Oh, you didn't like the ball that kept throwing. You were bouncing the ball, fucking caught one of them. It's up on one I scored. The fuck out. Yeah, boxing VR, that was cool too. Yeah, I whipped your ass. Yeah. But damn, man. This is Joe Brutal industry nightmares, man. It's a deep shit. They fucked... Yo, they worked you out in that, Joe, man. Yeah, yeah. This is gonna be in your book when you retire, man. You're gonna do a book about this shit. I'm gonna say the book is this, man. It'll be honest with you. This shit is crazy, man. You know? Because you know it was crazy. Like, I know I was in jail, right? And I call, call a career, call a home. And cuz, like, yo, man, these motherfuckers playing with me, they try to black my whole crazy shit, right? So I'm like, I'm like at this nigga. I look at the phone and jail. Like, this nigga crazy, right? So I go back to myself. I'm like, I ain't nigga tripping. Who the fuck am I gonna try to? And I didn't know that the inner work is at a game. So now when we was out here and get it, come over to jail. We don't have to think. It's like everybody had a confession. Like, we run into different people at a war show. Yo, man. I ain't been by a call who such a such a sensitive record label, man. He said that we play your video. It's gonna be this. I said, what? This nigga was alive. It had to be. It wasn't like two, three people, maybe like six, seven people. From different places. I'm talking about different MTPs. But he seemed, people with different regulators, like, listen, but not doing future with him. So I was like, yo, this should be that crazy. It could brutalize. Brutal industry. What am I gonna fuck you up? What am I gonna fuck up? No one. I can't get you publishing this, I'm shit. Let's see, let's see. It's crazy. For me, right? Even though they tell me, and it'd be a confession, I appreciate it, to me, right, it still be like, your nigga's calling him, man. You know why? You only tell him because I'm super rich. Because it's like, old and nigga made it. He's on our side. Who can't stop him else? We might as well tell him the truth. You know, back in the day, man. Can we add it? If I was somebody a day of fucked up poppin' in the street to see you, niggas, you niggas, won't tell me that because you niggas probably think I was gonna do something to you or something. I ain't gonna tell him, man. But now you feel comfortable because you like, yo, you all, you all, you all, it took a long time for you both to get the land nigga for cheer. You know, we had black money back in the day, come on, man. So, I love it. It'd be, it'd be bittersweet, right? You know what I mean? I seen them all fucking, man. There's no bullshit. I seen one of the crazy shit happenin' in some my own times. And he called me and said, right, I'm like, what? My fuck recorded a body of music, right? This is somebody that's known. Nice music. Oh, could this vintage store be any cuter? Right? And the best part? They accept discover. Accept discover? In a little place like this? I don't think so, Jennifer. Oh yeah, huh. Discover's accepted where I like to shop. Come on, baby, get with the times. Right, so we shouldn't get the parachute pants? These are making a comeback. I think. Discover's accepted at 99% of places that take credit cards nationwide. Based on the February 25, 25 Nilsson Report. Somebody named it was in some type of business. They wanted a certain percentage of some shit. They would go back full if they gave it to them. Music just disappeared. She just disappeared. How the fuck the music. Now I'm in a crib. I mean, you know, you're in the studio. I'm like, how the fuck the music disappeared. Because I. They never got the music so right and it was some some negotiation going on for the music But they never had it itself The music just disappeared or you read out of the well fucker told them that yeah, I said So when we know with me understand Yeah, you definitely the biggest fucking game of fuck this one now that I think about playing this shit Disappearment six Little fucking like I said satire you know Seals gonna get body slid plain or But see honestly though I Just understand that That it was all God You know, I mean I understand probably if I would have if if I would have been where I was supposed to be when I was a young age I probably would have been in jail with him You know what I mean? so The talent always do always there always do the personality with dead always knew I Just had just didn't had wasn't it giving up in me. I just had to keep it pushing Yeah, and eventually my lane opened up so you know Anything in the past is cool. I don't even be mad about being black You know what I mean?
