Insights
  • Parenting in the modern era requires explicit communication and boundary-setting with children about quality time, especially when work demands increase
  • Real estate and landlord-tenant relationships heavily favor property owners, making legal recourse difficult without severe violations like pest infestations
  • Content creators must balance monetization strategies (Patreon pricing) with perceived value delivery to justify subscriber commitment
  • Listener feedback reveals tension between free speech/honest commentary and sensitivity around religious/ethnic stereotyping in media
  • High-energy children require realistic parenting expectations and alternative solutions (online ordering) rather than public discipline in retail settings

Just don't call it a pie gentle I Boylar Rosenberg were on yo yesterday yesterday we went live and we were on for like I don't know a couple of seconds And I was going are we live are we live? I got corresponded as via text from people who support our show that are just family members faster than I got communication from Our Every day you're gonna start this way Is it is bad right I shouldn't do it Give him a break some days. I think people deserve a moment. I'm still sitting here really deserve is a stretch for me But go ahead. I'm still reeling from post popping up on my my Twitter page of Nikki Wandering around the oval office meeting all these all I saw then I saw that And I just Laura what is going on with her outfit? What the hell why does that look like an ostrich? What is it? I think she wore a first you were a she wore a fur coat and because of her buddhunk a dunk The fur coat, you know Looons up looking a little protruded like an ostrich It's not it doesn't look right. I just wanted to say buddhunk a dunk because it hasn't been said in a good 20 25 You bring it back Not a buddhunk a dunk why don't they say buddhunk a dunk anymore? Now her and the white hat with the with the fur coat Just close it stop looking at it. Just stop looking at it. I know my friend just sent me Of her with Katie Miller. I was like I don't want to see it. I don't want to see it. I can't I don't want to see it Don't look away guys don't look away Because if you look away, you'll potentially forget what she tries to do the next 180 and come back home Cuz where do you go from here? Where do you go from here at the I guarantee whatever Trots trying to do with the midterms and stop voting and they were down in Georgia like stealing ballots or something yesterday They sent the FBI into full county Georgia. You saw that I saw that two days ago What happened the FBI pulled up in Fulton County Georgia and started stealing ballots from like I think it was the 2024 election or something claiming that I don't know something was going on where they were down there and the woman was basically saying They are trying to steal the election in Georgia. They are trying to Cause some sort of chaos in Fulton County, which is a black predominantly black county which ultimately usually Decides where the state of Georgia might go She was basically breaking a down Rosenberg on like how illegal it is and why and She was just ringing the alarm. Y'all should be scared. This is what they're doing. They're abusing their power and they're trying to take your voter voter data Well, yeah, I mean, I mean we know that that's isn't Laura's not what you were saying the other day about what they've been doing in Minneapolis saying Hand over their voter roll. That's what they want. Yeah, we want to vote They want to vote her information and we'll get ice out of out of your out of your area Yeah, this is crazy Nikki's new friends you got some interesting friends, bro. Well, let's see Guys ladies and gentlemen. I don't want to do it. Let's let's let's do what we have well. We got family matters We got Friday freedom. Yes, we'll still get to the rundown. Maybe there maybe Lars got some planned in the lowdown No, we don't do rundown for it is Well yesterday we didn't even do the gurus Well, that's that's what we will today We got to get some consistency going on here. This is lack of effort. No, you just forget you're the one forgetting I'm not blaming y'all. I'm blaming us. I'm not. I wasn't an accusation of you We're hearing your blame for all of us and we're just turning around and putting it squarely on you instead We do we never do the rundown on Fridays and we do the gurus every day except yesterday We had so much to do that after an hour you were like hey, we got to skip the gurus It's rare on the radio shows very rare to skip the gurus too, but it's happened It's happens What radio show are you referencing? I don't remember. Oh, it's moved on. Yeah, I moved on. I don't remember what you talking about It's only I like to hear it forward now baby. It's all right now in front of us Yo, I got a shout shout out to killer Mike who I saw out here in Los Angeles Oh, and he was standing same hotel and He was very very he was giving us our flowers. Oh really? He was like yo man the way you guys just came back shooting The way you guys just landed on your feet. You know, I mean just square like man phenomenal I was like yo man. Thanks, bro. Is he coming on the show? I didn't ask, but I'm assuming he would I don't see always wouldn't yeah, I don't see why he would and he's got a new project. He's working on probably and I'm sure we'll see him But we are working on guests Um, and we are lining up guests for the new stew Lot of great feedback on the new stew Yes, a guest pole would be if that's interesting. Who would you want to see Realistically like don't don't write Beyonce, okay, right? You should not come in or Rihanna you know, Drake or Rihanna or Travis Scott or Travis you don't think whatever come on show you Travis ain't coming back He came once no, no, Travis came multiple times took over the show We opened up the whole show for him and like just let him do whatever we celebrated Travis on his on his ascension and now nothing Well, you just think he's gotten too big not because he doesn't not because he dislikes us Yeah, I just think he's too big and What if he said Michael Rubin was here if Michael Rubin was here would he come yeah, no, and we were actually having a Uh, what's it called fanatics party after party at our studio. He's there Travis Scott's there Back yo, Michael, we got a new stew. We can have like we get how many people you think we could fit in the new stew Ted To be on the air or no, no, no, just hanging out just hanging out. Oh, no hang out 30. Yeah, you think 30 people in it Show, show, maybe we'll go to 2020 20, 20, yes, so everyone could be safe and comfortable 2020 speaking of polls Content idea for patreon Kishu we talk about that here or is that something we should talk about other places I think content idea for no have it do good. It's Friday good Um Friday night flavors comes back Yo, that's not our show you really want to be rock to age you huh? Oh my god That was future flavor sorry Now, but oh in that vein though if you if you If I'm a patreon subscriber and we gave them Friday night or Saturday night live music content is that foigo or fugaze I think it might be fun Oh, I think it might be cool. I just wonder how many people will be tuning in on a Saturday night because people are out Are they Say that's there's that part too Lori are they no no ebro. She's out people are Our audience is 30 plus They might be out, but when I'm talking about like eight o'clock Okay, seven o'clock eight o'clock, you know what I mean like a nice Friday night You're looking for something to do Boom flip on the patreon we're live or something something is live Friday night Saturday night But do you mean like a mixture? I don't know what I mean But yes, could be DJ could be convo could be live performance. I I think that we're very capable capable of having some really cool live performances Cuz this because because the because the stew has tentacles Now the stew got situations But I think Laura just went but am I at a school? Am I out of whatever for saying ebro that Laura's one that's another step that's another step. I mean we're talking about wishful thinking the future No, no ebros we could do like ebro means something we could fire up next week if we wanted to yeah Like he just means playing music, but yes, but we could still what Laura saying is has it in time in time. I think we could Yeah, who exciting So that could be cool. I'm talking about what I'm asking is and maybe in the chat they could talk What I'm asking is is that content That you would love to have from us via patreon Because we can't do it live on YouTube. So it would have to be All right, well no Roseburg can't decide he can't decide be well the only thing I'm thinking about is Like how do those DJ mixes work like my wife loves to play in our house in the in the living room While she's hanging out with the baby she loves to have on like a DJ playing show it'll be a neo soul mix and it's just the DJ in his house playing music Yeah, whatever thing Why so there is a way to do that and not get flied? Well, let's just do it and we see what happens You can go live on YouTube D monetize yeah, you can't monetize it Yeah, and and and because you're not stealing video You can get away with playing it, but if you started playing No, you get a oh Yeah, and without talking about patreon I'm trying to listen guys we have people giving us their hard earned money every month I'm trying to find out ways to incentivize a doing that because we are charging a pretty penny. I think $10.99 whatever you guys call that. That's not like Like that people have to think about that Like that has to be a consideration like am I going to commit to this and if you're watching this right now And you can consider that please go ahead and subscribe. We appreciate you But I'm trying to figure out how to make sure that that has the real value we need Okay Um that I it would be fun though. I would be open to it. Okay, I do want to DJ again I was a that was a head that was a heavier lift than I anticipated when I started. Yep I've had DJ friends ask me when am I going to be a guest They're ready oh really yeah I'm ready do they got a following anybody actually want to see him like We're talking about some legends like what do you know? We know some amazing people I didn't know who you were talking about I wasn't trying I didn't know who you were talking about I didn't know if it was like Juanito who your beef and weight hit you on the side He thinks people want to see him DJ Guys he would never quick by the way I just want to point out None of us are in control of the drops right now And whoever hit that they was Juanito no they hurt Juanito and they say I can't get a drop hit that fast ever and they came through I couldn't even finish my thought I was gonna say let's hit family matters if you have drops you have that Then that I This day and age to read in good news on the news paper Some people say it's even harder to find I Dreams Hey Yo, uh, I have never watched More full episodes I can't maybe five full episodes. Yeah, it wasn't your era. It wasn't your what years where that what years you are Yeah, TGI F ebrow is already like a young teenager and outside right no I I F what do you talk about? Yo, that's did thank you for proving the point That was the lineup on Fridays on ABC. Yeah, Friday And I was watching your favorite jokes Rosa Barg you were you were watching dinosaurs I don't I didn't want dinosaurs. Not the mom dinosaurs. I watch full house in family matters though I'm family matters to me too and I want strangers at some point on Fridays. We were perfect strangers was Fridays I think at some point it moved to Fridays because I watched Balkybar talk him was don't play with me But I was my jam. Yeah, that he that was I was you know by the time 1314 ebrow is outside Yeah, I was I was in the streets 13 years old. Um, yeah, no, I wasn't I wasn't still on my mommy's teeth You know, I'm saying like these two like these two couldn't even go outside My dad was like you ain't going nowhere. I'm like fine So what I'm saying Rosemary keeps going I was eight Yeah, what to say I was eight I was eight years old By the time I was 14 my parents still wouldn't let me go to like concerts downtown or anything so oh, I am That was still just hanging out of friends houses I was out though. I worked in the mall at 14 so at the at 14 years old I was working at two stores in the mall Where I was unpacking boxes and the mall closed. I think at like nine o'clock at night and so I had to I still had to get home um Via bus or bike and I said that's when I started and around my way that's when I started like playing music Like this one this this cat you should do these house parties and that's when I I would like you know on the way home As he was setting up, you know what I mean get a little second to go see what's going on type thing before I had to be in the house So I but I couldn't stay out until like 11 o'clock. Yeah, but I was trying to I was moving around a little bit Rosemary what was your first job like your very very first job Um, I had I had so many but the first one first first one first one Was was at the synagogue oh at the Hebrew school. Okay, first. Shalom No, it was or I was at the same guy. I went to bed. Shalom What are you doing? I was I was helping with Hebrew school with the little kids. Oh, that's nice So but I they had me in the office. I was okay. I was um, I was you know, filing papers doing Xerox copies Just helping out in the Hebrew school then my second job Then my second job was at the reggae record label my friend Allison who you met the other day Laura. Yes Allison's uncle dr. Dread He owned uh the record label in Silver Spring so I did that Then I was it foot locker all right all right all right I had a lot of jobs. I was from desk front desk at a dry cleaners. That was my first job This work job wait Laura. You know, it's crazy what when I was when so my my grandmother owned the dry cleaners in Albany California, which is right outside Berkeley Richmond that kind of area So when I was like seven Well, no, no, yeah like five six seven I was working the front desk at the dry cleaners. Oh nice. I remember you know, how about this I remember having a walkman My first walkman I got for Christmas Sitting at the front desk and I had two cassettes Oh, here we go. I had cool it now And I had Michael Jackson thriller Mm-hmm. So now I had to be nine. That's 84 right 83 84 So I had to be eight nine and so yeah, the album's 83 so what thrill is 83 82 Oh 82 I think actual release date Yes, so I was seven oh Wow, no, I was working at the dry cleaners at 14 because my tape was to Cal that was my tape That's good tape great tape. I was right. I was right. Sorry The album is November 29, 82 And the crazy thing is it can get confusing because the single for thriller is the last off the album a full year later Oh, god, okay, but I definitely remember having that when it dropped I got that um Or around when it dropped because I got it for Christmas So that was that November so it was a month after a drop all you could do when the girl's mind come out came out came on as fast forward The old school fast forward. I didn't even know I hated it You didn't know you hit it. You know, no, I didn't know I hated it then you know why because I was seven in my I had zero taste You know like the rest of you people who jump on here telling me what your kids like and oh listen to the kids Yo, after these damn kids You know, I don't taste they don't have no no context. They don't have no That Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney singing about a girl and then fighting over girl was excused my language dog I didn't know that's harsh Yeah, I didn't know family By anyway Orgents stories. Well speaking of family matters Rosenberg you have a big story, right? What's happening with you man? I don't want to like I honestly don't feel like getting all like too deep because it's confusing and it's to put me in a mood But essentially we moved into an apartment because we need space all right and I think people remember that Yes, I think so and it's just not Even though there's upside to it. There are things we like about it Bro, it's something else every day like we are just every day. There's something that annoys us That the my room is cold this thing isn't working Well the lobby when it snows is so slippery that literally your words you're gonna die Yes, I had to fight with these people and say I'm helping y'all out You need to do something or someone's going to harm themselves badly This is like a skating rink. What are you doing? It is I was just at his apartment e-bro and he's a hundred percent right So we're definitely gonna bust their ass. Wait, what y'all was doing. I didn't get the invite. What's happening? Let's talk about since we're talking about family matters. I didn't get the invite to the gatherer You know Lord did you and a lot of stuttery? Well did Laura do you mention your thing that you were doing in the city to e-bro? Uh, I don't know if my mandate. Oh wow Did Ricardo take you to the last minute text about Saying they were having brunch and soho Um, but go ahead, but it was to celebrate you know the artist he's working with Ryan with their spoon got it So you know he just dropped you single. Yeah, so it was just like a brunch And so Ricardo reached out and hit me and my friend Allison was coming over and then Natalie was like oh see a florid and Ricardo Want to pop I fit in the city and so they pop up. Yeah, no, no he hasn't hit me about that He only I only get hit when I can help them get on playlists and actually help him make money Nobody wants me to come have a meal You know, I'm saying nobody wants me to just hang out, but please help us make money and promote our artists You know I'm saying he would have said absolutely not on a Saturday. No, I'm watching. I'm watching how this plays out Tell your man Laura styles that you know, I'm watching them. I'll tell them that you're offended because you didn't get it in bite You know, I'm saying not that I was gonna come I wasn't gonna come I wasn't gonna come on a Saturday because Well the other part is Saturday you know what Saturday is Saturday is me salasi and isa okay We leave the house promptly at 9 a.m We get smoothies and bagels okay, and then we got to get isa to Alvin a Lee by No later than 9 30 so she could start stretching and warming up and then I got to get salasi back down to gymnastics Do gymnastics from in there with salasi on the balance beam working on forward rolls and all that Take it back uptown pick isa up and then we go get lunch. So We're not answer is he wouldn't have done it no matter what I know so okay Okay, so my apartment for the first time the other day um so Natalie hit me is like do you want to swing by And yes because also you know Yes, she was like I'm my friend Alice in this year. I was like all right. Yes. Well, we'll swing by So anyways long story short There's always something this apartment is very expensive The hallways are nasty as hell They're doing a construction two apartments over from us that I'm pretty sure is unpermitted and they're doing it on some shady-ish Um hard to explain why it's just weird. It's just effing weird Today Natalie opens the door. I'm not home obviously um, I can't say Natalie's in you know having the best time dealing with everything while I'm in Saudi Arabia across the world on roller coasters with wrestlers It's already not the best you know That's exactly how she feels she opens the front door And it's completely draped off like like you're in a fuck up the bleeping hazmat situation like a blue wow Yeah, yeah, no one's gonna walk out her door. There was no heads up nothing nothing It's all Thing with these people right and so here's the part that's I fear how ebros gonna react to this because I know his I just know him but We still have our other place We're in the process of setting up to sell it And it's really hard because we go there and we're like we're leaving the place we like and we hate the place we are I know We're debating what we do and whether we just take the next month to minimize the stuff Because we know we could have stayed there if we didn't have a ton of stuff It was a manager will play a manageable place for one child Yes, but not when you're a collector with 90 pairs of shoes and all your records and we could go back and make it work Yo, ebros. I don't have a garage bro. I know this sounds super spoiled. I'm sorry send your emails Ebro lore Rosenberg a gmail.com spoiled Rosenberg talks about parking lot my car is currently under I don't know nine feet of ice Just a lot Even include the Sorry Lord go ahead. No, I was just gonna say listen. You know my man is a collector Collector is it yo we get in it. This is family matters. We're in line You know how to feel you know how to feel right and I said corner or a hoarder order I'll say wait what So I was a collector to I'm not gonna front I had Chill chill chill chill chill chill chill chill chill you're late you were late on that well Who out it was actually I must be griff you were late on that well, but I see where you go no no no you guys already know I out ebro you already know I had tons of supreme limited edition this and sneakers guys I got rid of so much junk after Kenza came into our lives and one of the biggest To be honest with you me and Ricardo don't fight we fight about stuff Yeah, because I'm like you got to get it out You got to get it out and I have this thing I'm gonna say you're bringing five sneakers in some of them has to go out Anything about the problem is though But Laura that's a good thing that you guys fight about it the problem is me and Natalie don't fight about it I don't both want it I know and and and then we and then we say we're gonna do it. We're gonna do better. We're gonna But the bottom line is like Laura you know, I mean ebro you haven't been to my home in a while, but you've been in that home too My my old apartment is enough for us and a small child. It's not that crazy like it's manageable It just we didn't have it. So let me let me ask you this Rose and Berks is where a family matters Do you love the inside of this apartment that you're doing up my new one? Yes the new one I Like it and it's more comfortable Than our old place. I like it. I do not I'm not gonna go as far and say I love it Like as Laura can attest to a lot of the spaces in the hallways It's not like the living rooms that much bigger than our old living room. No, it's just a long It's got a longer hallway and more bedrooms long hallways and more bedroom and smaller room and like a lot more smaller room More small rooms is not that much bigger the main thing that would hurt Natalie Is she would lose the kitchen and in this kitchen she can actually there's an island she can like prep and cook our other one So so challenging kitchen. So You've been in this new place 12 weeks No, not even we're we're coming up on eight weeks And we just had a snowstorm and the weather's been trash and The building is well documented trash the question I have for you is when the sun is shining again Will it feel different? Will it feel different? Yeah, I don't know that's that this is what I'm gonna be wrestling with because the only other thing is if I'm gonna try to deal with these These These landlords If I'm gonna try to deal with them My best play if I have a hope is probably top of spring to get out because that's when people rent right? So if you want to make the move If there's a chance they'll let us get out because I call the lawyer Yo, the system is so foul The lawyer was like listen are there rats running across your room? If not You're probably gonna waste a lot of time and money if you try to make this illegal reason to leave They have all the power the landlords have all the power right right. We're living a favor New York City's a financial city You know, that's what mom that's why you have a mom Donnie fighting new and people voting for that is because the the the financial hub the Big real estate big corporations they run New York City Yeah, exactly and you know what happens when you when you talk about these violations you You these violations they get slapped on the wrist Yeah, nothing happens. Maybe they pay it. Maybe they don't She just showed me that it's both of our doors. She just we have two doors in our apartment both of them are completely covered Um, by the way, what kind of nastiness is happening out there that you have to cover our doors to I know and why did question? Why didn't they give you a heads up you have a child How are we going outside with our child how are we taking the dog out? I'm sure it has something to do with this construction and right And what if I were if I were her I would take a pair of scissors And I would cut us I would cut a slit in the fuck in the tarp. Excuse my language and I'll go on about my business Well, they you're we're gonna have to but like that's still a little iffy What are you doing out there? I Mean there's definitely dust and there's And by the way, you're already exposed if you're in your house Um, she should definitely put a mask on and maybe a face cover going to baby Another baby's not gonna go out. It's it's also zero degrees outside. There's nothing to go out What are you going out for right? Right. So maybe that's why they just maybe that's why they tarped it They're trying to insulate it. Maybe it's cold in it in that joint and they were like you know what? There's a old building. Let's still be sure To do the question. Let me ask you a question I called a couple of environmental places about coming to check out the place for yeah Well, the first place want like 900 to even show up. Was this for the mold inspection? We never got an update on the old Yeah, not for mold. I'm not I'm not even as worried about the mold side I don't think the mold was related to my health like we're fine. We're all we're all doing okay now. Okay They they have like 11 different lead paint violations So let me ask you a question What's the likelihood if they've had that many different violations of every sort humanly possible What is the likelihood that there's not some sort of effery underneath This what we can see in this apartment. Oh for sure I have a neighbor friend who went in the light. He went in his lights and took pictures And he saw that they clearly had cut through firewalls to to make their apartments bigger yeah You're not supposed to cut through firewalls. They're there for a reason to block fire if God's right there was one Not only that when he saw stuck his camera up there. He saw tons of debris Like they dropped the ceiling and left bulls stuff on top of the ceiling. Yeah, so we could have nasty Rocks and unhealthy things above us. Oh, there's definitely mold. There's definitely mold There's definitely asbestos. Yeah, no, there's definitely asbestos. Anyway paint So my question is if they've done all of those things what are the odds that we're not being affected by it at all Well, I think listen this is family matters and this is a family matter And since we're your family and we're dealing with this matter We also want to make sure you know congratulate you play yourself I didn't know where he was going So I had to buy a Congratulations It's the most It's the most It's perfect It is the definition of congratulations you played just no 1000% now congratulations Idol money lies in your current account picking crumbs out of its belly button wondering should I eat them? Um, that was today's family matters. It was a great episode We got some Laura there. We got some Rosenberg. Thank you for sharing on my end of this thing Everything is great. Uh, East is 11. She just I just missed her science her stem fair Um at her school, which I've never missed before But because they moved it to a Thursday inside of saturday and I'm currently traveling dealing with super bowl next week And this week was versus Matter-fac versus tonight apple music eight o'clock eastern five o'clock Pacific Mike will made it versus hit boy and I'm hearing the special guests Gotta be crazy. Oh man. This is gonna be fun. Let's see if this works out though So it works out because everybody's in town. It's the Grammys, but anyway, uh, but I had to have a long conversation with Issa Where she you know, she's a big sister now. Yes Um, she's got a very busy schedule with flag football and Alvin Ailey Uh, the stresses of school. She's kind of feeling like you know She's a sixth grader now. She's you know talking about high school. She's you know looking around at what the world has to offer Um, and she's got a lot of stuff going on. Okay. I can't put all her business out But she was like daddy. I don't feel like I don't I don't I don't feel like we get to talk anymore Oh Now mind you We opened up our Apple music studios in Los Angeles in August so I've been out here a lot more And I've had to travel a lot more to get out here and do content out yet Yeah, normally Issa and I would have me and Issa would I would pick her up from school with taking the dinner That was like our Monday thing take her to practice like I was But because she's had flag football and I'm doing Apple music I haven't been able to get her from school or mom's had to get her taking the practice Plus now you're a big sister. So every time she's at my house we walk in the house and it's salassee on toddler run around and it's chaotic. I'm like listen. I completely understand. So we have one of those talks And and I was like anytime you want to talk just let me know she's like well sometimes you seem so busy And then you know we have family stuff and we're having fun doing other stuff and it's just like you're just I just and I was like listen anytime we need to talk you just say daddy we need to talk and Everything stops and we focus on what you need Like we're in that zone Yeah, we're having that kind of talk And then she's also to check in on her hey maybe Well, no, I so I'm glad you I'm glad you said that so I often text her right she's got her little watch now I could text her right but I'll text her like what she could she can't have in that school So I'll text her after school if I'm traveling or even if I'm in the city and we just you know She's doing a thing, but she doesn't hit back But I'm not gonna text her mom and say hey she hasn't hit me back and she shows she was just like well I'm busy sometimes right I haven't looked at it and I'm not really good on text And I just wanted to see you face to face and I just want to talk I'm not gonna text. Yeah, she's with I'm not good on text. Yeah, you're lying But no, she just wants a dad and I think also this the other thing I think kids go through they reminisce on when things were I mean adults do it too you reminisce on when things seemed much simpler right when we had more time together during the pandemic Which were formidable years like she was you know during the pandemic. She's like What or six no she's six Seven six. Yeah, that's like form of where I was like, you know everybody was home I was winter all the time every day like we were doing you know what I mean and now she's 11 and she's like reminiscing like we used to be able to do this and we used to be able to do that. I'm like yeah, but you know Times have changed, you know, Tom's of and so the child No, I don't think I didn't I didn't receive it as guilt. I received it as like I'm glad that you can articulate yourself first of all Yeah, that's very good. I received it as like this is an opportunity to just talk about how hard growing up actually is And I reassured her that like if you run through the list of everything that you have going on right now including being a big sister Including like just becoming a preteen and all of the school stuff and all of the extracurricular stuff I'm mature adult would be struggling with your schedule Yeah, and and missing and missing their significant other or missing their family like what you're saying is completely The way you should be feeling. It's completely healthy. You have nothing to worry about And I'm here for you whenever you need to talk like it was one of those conversations where it's like I miss you too I wish we had more time also Let's figure this out. Let's set aside time. Let's you know, we did all of that stuff. So That's pretty great. That's actually also together sounds pretty healthy right there. Listen What more could you ask for right? Right not alone But I will say Kenza did hit me real quick like everybody's parents came to someone. So how come you went there? I was Right after we wrapped this up. I'm going to the school Because I'm gonna go whatever Open Friday or decide. Oh, you gotta do it. I'm like good here. I promised her and she and show remember P Oh, you promised me that's right. So I gotta go No, you gotta deliver listen and you have to be proactive Laura staves. You gotta be in that calendar Yes, yes, you gotta be in that school calendar Listen, I've definitely missed some they have these open Fridays that they do periodically It'll be in the calendar and I've definitely like had to drop and cancel work stuff like yo I gotta get to my daughter's school. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you know what I'm saying or and so you gotta check that schedule Man, if you're calendar any type with these kids it's a thing Yo, Eber do you ever do you ever think about How long it's been since you would like regularly pick ESA up? I mean physically oh No I was like come here give me a hug He says he says like what how how is this taller than you now Laura? Yeah, sure right? I'm five No, obviously time has passed Like ESA might be as tall as you Rosemar now she's close like like Obviously the time has passed, but isn't it crazy that like I just think about that all the time when I'm picking up my Because she's a baby still And like one day it's not gonna be like this and then you look back You don't even know when the last one happens right Like every It goes quick and goes quick all right guys. We gotta get to freedom Friday Friday Friday Freedom Friday We got some time in shout to everybody in the chat. Do we have any voice notes? I don't see any we do We have voice notes. You don't see them. There's a ton of fire. I'm looking at At the top where it says here are the emails and the voice notes for this week Then it says Friday freedom emails No, and then you know your email is like on drugs Maybe it's that's so weird. Okay. Yeah, we do. Let's start Let's start with Ozzy you got Ozzy over there Oh, my voice notes are all the way at the bottom of all of the Family what up Ozzy from Texas right back at you. You know, I had to hit y'all up now Told y'all y'all remember when y'all at the old plantation So I was gonna be riding with y'all wherever y'all went Well y'all went and I went with you baby here. Oh, thank you. I'm even gonna do the dance For the $10.00. Patriot all right, what do the dance baby? You run somebody real quick Since I'm giving you my $10. Let me let me let me run some let's go the flagpole Now did y'all hear about the tic-tac the girl on tic-tac That wrote a jingle For Dr. Pepper and they used her jingle in the commercial in the national championship game Yes, you got like two million dollars or something. Yo great story So let me know what y'all think about this And now below down with Laura's style Oh, yeah Oh, yeah All right, listen, we're gonna listen. Well, how much you charge it? You're the best It depends on price. Well, hang on we got to hit a price cuz listen you know we on a budget now We got to make sure Laura can pay a mortgage grip for some we got you know what I mean We got to we got to make sure cuz me and Rosalbaugh got multiple jobs. So we're making a happen But we got other people gotta take care of now I see what we could do is cash out you back your $10 and you sign off on us using your voice You know saying so we could get your $10 back Here you go, but I love it. Excuse me 99 whatever it is. That's true. Well that help Yeah, maybe he'll let us use it for 99 Osie's dope all right all right, let's go to what do we got first email? Okay, uh Go ahead Laura south. I got one this one's from Freddie Mac. All right I'm excited. There you all have returned basically five minutes after getting fired. There's no stopping this trio I'm a Chuck jyver that listens to you guys on the podcast app every night you guys make my 14 hour days go by quickly I have a suggestion for Wednesday since there's a YouTube music obstacle Causing whitish Wednesdays to be potentially allocated to patreon correct my friend How about washed Wednesdays here we go Okay, I like this so far where the fots can write it and hit themselves with the button for being washed Okay, episodes around the time Peter heard himself trying to run up the stairs had me dying laughing hysterically Thank you when fots wrote in or called telling their stories. I left so hard I would love to hear more of those stories and also um the uh the image for your show should have a shark in the background because Blood is in the water That's He said I would be honored if y'all could hit me with the button Uh, I heard with the button. He's Freddie Mac with the button man. Give me some uh he deserves that Congratulations, you played yourself now blood in the water is uh the merch moved I don't know if Laura styles the merch manager is gonna decide to bring that back at some point But I hope she does maybe we'll see um the The reason I said blood is in the water just to reiterate so we don't lose sight of it was because Something had happened to us and the sharks were circling and they wanted they really people really wanted to devour our whole existence They wanted us going blood was in the water people were getting aggressive the savages It was crazy time we saw we saw they did not know They did not know about I mean Now y'all correct me if I'm wrong and I think we talked about this on the patreon when I brought up the new stew Do you think people took it serious Like I mean like when I was telling y'all when I was telling look even our uh the former people we worked with a y'all I'm launching a new stew so that we can really look right on On social media and look right on The internet because I always felt that our content wasn't moving around our studios that we worked in We're not conducive to looking awesome pond the internet And we needed a new stew and I was gonna make that investment so that we looked great Do you think people thought I was playing? I think so I don't think they took you serious They were For us to get one variation of our so called studio. We can't even get that done. So how can he? right Yeah, I can't call it. I can't call it you took it serious rose merk But you didn't now let me ask you this rose merk. Did you what did we Did we um what's what's term I'm looking for Uh, are you impressed by how it landed is it better than your expectations? I think we talked about that on the on the patreon on the patreon Yeah, I mean my expectations were that it would be good I I think I can't really like give you a full assessment until I feel like This is the product we're putting out like this is it we haven't done it yet We put out we put out our patreon, which is Halfway there and I still think there's great things about it that are better than anything we've done in years But we're not at the full capacity like even the stuff I saw yesterday was 30% better from a week earlier So I can't get you the full thing, but I'll say I Believe it's gonna end up being something that for the first time in a very long time We're like proud of the product. I don't know that I even felt that proud of The way the hot stuff looked and the best version of hot stuff Right, it was never it was never amazing. I hated the back room with the couches Yeah, I hated the second studio that we moved to Then we eventually just did it in the proper morning studio where we probably always should have done it And that was the best version of it And he had a big little of that Well and but remember the reason we never stayed in the main studio when we were at 395 was because there was a show that we come on after And so we really only had that one studio So we ended up going to the back so that we could just make extra content for Guess where we've been for I don't know 20 plus years on YouTube And then we can I and I'll say something respectfully They should have arranged a long time ago if they cared about that That the midday show would be yeah, we talked about studio and we just lived in that studio because the morning Talk to matters, but we didn't anyways. Yes. I'm very impressed with it. I'm excited to see it get to its next level It was fun to be in there All the things Well, while we're talking about that, let's go to Giovanni on the voice note Dreaming of a truly magical 2026 There's still time to book your family break at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida with Virgin Atlantic holidays Enjoy lots more than just the bare necessities with up to 25% off 14 day Disney magic tickets and Disney hotel stays This offer disappears when the clock strikes midnight on March 31st So book today with our Virgin Atlantic holidays experts in store by phone or online Selected 2026 arrivals and Disney resorts. Tisensees apply Since that aligns with this concept Laura Rosenberg morning It's Giovanni out here in Vegas And man, let me start off by saying man, we y'all y'all had a scared y'all had a scared We saw the blood in the water. We don't want to believe it. He bro. He was telling us Man did not want to believe it, but it happened The old plantation let y'all go But hey y'all found new ground Y'all's out there y'all y'all giving the community what we need what we love and we appreciate y'all for that um You know, I'm gonna be like Rosenberg right now and I'm not trying to throw any shade to the old plantation But you know, I've been seen on the socials, you know congrats out the mirror For getting the gig man, I'm gonna tell you right now, Mero Big shoes to fill real big shoes to fill, but you gonna do you gonna do your thing in the city man But I've been seeing the socials Sonny shiny culture on the socials. He's hot. Oh my god. Voice is clear as that as clear as day No And I've been looking at the studio Studio looks real nice real nice and Socials are really hot with you know With with the new show and the new iteration of the show so keep it up, but you know, it's kind of shady You know how they did y'all, but guess what you have your community out here that has been following you for the past couple weeks on YouTube I caught the the t-shirt blood in the water. All right. Thank you. You're on to come out. Thank you Thank you Giovanni Thanks, man, I get it. I think he may have overstated the quality of the studio since we left They did add a wallpaper though, so I you guys you know that was right at the end That was that was when we really should have known when the new wallpaper popped up that we say all This is a bit this they consider this a big expenditure Well, just seven bucks. Well, I'm glad you brought that up because just like The new apartment you currently live in yeah new wallpaper Is not gonna fix the problems that they have With technology Camera angles cleanliness cleanliness that goddamn bathroom and I'ma say it again What WBLS the legendary heritage black radio station in New York City the conditions they work in are Disgusting and embarrassing That that has been allowed Crazy no, it's crazy and I couldn't I couldn't tolerate it. I'm saying something like I couldn't take it I can't I can't and and and once again, it's because I know what we come from And I know what it deserves it should be yes, and I know it it deserves and I also know how much money The owner of the property has and is unwilling to invest because he keeps losing money because he makes bad decisions on who the leadership is And doesn't know how to run a goddamn radio station, but that's no here nor there because it ain't mom and they they mind Remember that that was the comp I was making the other day the apartment situation We we are all at the mercy of people with a lot of money. We're gonna do what they're gonna do Yep, and and are willing to and are willing to stall you out Get lawyers do all the things that's that's what the nature of the beast is All right, let's let's take another email shall we all right? You got one or you want me to go? No, I got one. Let's go. Let's go I want to I want to come with something good here. Okay. All right. Here we go In the spirit of ebros ebros voice say what you want to say feel how you want to feel This is a yes king yes shout out and a PSA okay, okay You guys talked on Thursday about this last week yeah last week about Maga women take on their men's views And how you see strong smart women with good personalities dating with guys who are kind of dating guys who are kind of numb nuts ebros made a comment that this kind of woman needs to be the center of attention And drive the ideas while women definitely be out here settling That's a very specific character as Laura pointed out here is to testify Here to testify that charming confident men who are decent human beings do exist And I wanted to make something known for the good of kings listening smart women have standards Well, we find masculine and sexy and confident are men who are unafraid to be a empathetic respectful Of women and speak up to defend us when it matters There are plenty of well-intending men who hear their friends say racist misogynist or homophobic things and stay quiet Or just roll their eyes and laugh My yes king yes challenge is to call your boys out when they say things like this There's nothing sexier than a man who is confident enough in his masculinity to do the uncomfortable thing call out gross behavior Good guys staying quiet and accepting that ish from the people around them is giving secure small d insecure small d energy Um, for example when you guys brought up heated robbery last week I noticed some homophobic comments in the chat very cringe in 2026 Just saying it doesn't make you less of a man to stick up for those more vulnerable than you If your friends call you gay or soft for acknowledging that Probably not the crew you want to be with Um, there's a reason so many there's so many single Republican men in DC Kindness and humanity is sexy to smart women. I want to shout out ebron Rosenberg You're both examples of charming emotionally intelligent men The way you can be vulnerable and introspective on the air is refreshing and case in point Look at the brilliant beautiful women you've both gotten your lives Men listening can take note and women listening should stop settling and dump your mega boyfriend So I speak in a mega boyfriend and this whole thing Thanks cat, but didn't didn't we discuss on the ebron laurels verse show? Was that last week? I played an Instagram clip griff remind me um Of someone talking about the divorce rate among Uh, oh yeah, we did talk women or white women married to conservative Margaret supporting men and that's like a thing now Yeah, we talked about this because I remember bringing up how they that's why they're trying to make it harder for women to get a divorce Right Yeah, that's a thing. So this is a uh, this is a thing and you know, I think There is there are there are women who settle they want to have a family they've accepted that Uh, um, you know boys will be boys kind of attitude thing that is out there Um, there are some women like that, but there's a lot of other women who haven't accepted that Yeah, yeah, yeah You know, I just don't understand like how could you be with somebody like if you're person right is a mega and they stand more Lee how could you be with somebody who stands for everything that you don't I I don't see how people can do it I do not understand that I think some people especially women have been socialized and conditioned to um be okay It with their opinion not mattering It's all about support it is for some women and I see that yeah, I still because I grew up in that very traditional Latino household and I was quick to give the middle figure up like I just do not Understand How can how can you literally live with somebody have children with somebody who has hate in the heart I know But I will tell you like listen, I think we all all of us Have there are men that we know who are who may be in our families and friends. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah Who who we have then we love and they have some viewpoints that you're like how how is this a viewpoint? It's it becomes very sticky Um, I look past this email that seems worth Definitely reading Friday freedom if you want to email ebro law Rosenberg at gmail I know we have to kind of hustle up here and get to the gurus, but um ebro law and Rosenberg loyal listener 15 years from the old station to the podcast YouTube and now patreon. Oh wow man listen Love you. I signed up because I genuinely support the show. I want to see it succeed That said, I have two serious concerns both involving Rosenberg Oh First the Satan voice bit needs to go Oh, man, the Satan. Yo, okay, they're gonna protest Well, but listen, this isn't even where you think it's gonna go. Okay, this isn't the Howard Stern show I know Rosenberg is a fan. It consumes a lot of stern content and not anymore. I have many times Um, I do occasionally, but the imitation is obvious. I well, I guess I don't consume enough because I'm not doing an imitation But the imitation is I you didn't know you didn't know here. I didn't know and honestly distracting I stopped listening to stern years ago for various reasons and I don't want that same energy carried into this show If I wanted stern, I wouldn't be emailing you. I'd be listening to him There's another part that's I think more serious than this That's not it if you mean that I'm generally imitating stern like it it's giving Howard Stern I suppose that could be an assessment like it reminds me of a bit they would do on stern Okay, if you're saying that's an actual bit. He does. I don't know that That bit came up because it's a built-in voice effect on my board And it's hilarious No, it's funny. It's funny like I I guys it's not often that I go back and watch a moment from our show and laugh again The five-year thing from the other day with combo with the same No, that's funny laugh out loud. I was funny So I respect your opinion, but I don't think comedic tastes should be quote a serious concern that you have That's just a matter of taste, but goes on to say second and more importantly Okay, the recent conversation about religion crossed the line Rosenberg casually referencing Islamic extremism blowing up buses etc Was unnecessary and harmful What exactly is that helping comments like that only contribute to Islamophobia which has existed in this country for decades and continues to have real consequences especially given recent events in places like minnesota and texas When someone randomly tunes in on youtube or the podcast and here's that kind of language It reinforces the false assumption that muslims are extremists or terrorists As a Palestinian Muslim living in New Jersey. I found that deeply offensive Not all extremists are terrorists not all orthodox Jews are Zionists nor are they bad people Not all Catholic priests represent the worst actions associated with their faith You know where I'm going with this no religion should be reduced to its most extreme examples Freedom of religiously. Well, well, well, well, well, well, I can't even I can't even let you finish like we can talk about Well, no, no, no, no, well that part, but I it's the person emailing Said that they've been with us and in this for a minute Did we mention terrorism And Muslim folks participating in terrorism extrapolated away from all bad extremism within religion the exact opposite was done the only reason I said something like about Muslim extremist or terrorism was because we were talking about how there's terrible extremism everywhere Yes, we always talk about Christian nationalists even brought up cult because I was watching a good little Hulu duck on calls every religion has extremists that are Insane every every group every group every ethnic group racial group religious Whatever stand the sensitivity to that being because because Islamophobia Is worse in my opinion than any other sort of religious phobia in this country It's right. I mean Islamophobia and anti-Semitism they battle. There's a lot of stuff there that's bad and hard for everybody But but just just for that though remember people see Jews as having a level of protection Because they rep they they they they represent as white and have financial power not all but many in society that brown Arabic speaking Muslims don't have yes, so so so there's even a higher level of sensitivity What I find frustrating about the the listener who I obviously appreciate your level of dedication to the show I While the term may have offended you because anytime you hear something like related to Islam terrorism Explosions I understand why all of those things would make you Extremely sensitive and coming from you remember that part of it and coming from your mouth But if you've been listening for 15 years I can't tell you the level of resentment I feel that you would hear my opinions about everything every day The honest and critical way that I speak about Jewish stuff and Israel stuff with the level of criticism So much higher than I've ever spoken about anything related to Islam and it would propel you to write me an email That I ever even said it because what we're not going to do Is be incredibly hard and appropriately so on Israel every day And pretend that Palestinian extremists have not blown up buses in Israel We are not going to do that and that may hurt to hear But just as Jews and specifically not Jews is Israel is committing a genocide in Palestine You can also admit that terrorist groups have blown things up in Israel these are facts And it's not fair for you to expect me to be so self-critical and if I even utter the word related Come That's just unreasonable that's un I hear you. I'm sorry you felt that way, but that is unreasonable well people do get unreasonable about their is Mm-hmm people do get unreasonable about their ish and who the messenger is About their ish they don't think that I could have ever had any queasy moments on this show where you ebrow No, they're not thinking about you. They're not about my stuff and I just sit here going They don't think that could ever feel they're not but what you're asking for is empathy was that is that what you say? Yeah, I don't know listen that doesn't always that's a muscle that takes work to exercise My having a good person clearly, but that was a bad take. I'm sorry. That was a bad take With that was a specific conference if I know ebrow made me go crazy like wait There was a conversation where we were loosely just I just threw that out there Yeah, I couldn't even listen to email anymore. I was like wait when did this happen But but you know what people people And the way the human brain works and the way people are if they haven't worked on that muscle of empathy or really Their listening skills or looking in the mirror and and really critically analyzing what triggers them and why they're triggered And why something coming from Rosenberg's mouth is triggering you But if I were to say the same thing it doesn't trigger you as much a lot of that is it's all of that It's tied to our social programming right? It's tied to and we all have it I'm not excused myself But I have to check myself sometimes too where I'm like I don't like this messenger, but they're not lying But why don't I like the messenger? But it's because there's a lack of trust. Well, why is there a lack of trust? Well, because there's history tied to whatever my experience was or whoever that person was or the big one The race of that person or the gender of that person right? So there's a lack of trust So really what that email says to me is my homin has a lack of trust for Rosenberg because Rosenberg is a white Jewish person And no matter how long he's listened no matter how long he can't he doesn't trust Doesn't see it in the comments. I saw it in the comments yesterday or whenever we had a recorded show I was in the comments reading Someone's like y'all I just know Rosenberg's a closet races That No one and no one is that for happy bro. They're never happy. They're never happy But but but and that's why I brought it up in those terms right? I wanted to use some real responsible language That was that was the language because my homin is clearly somebody who loves us Is is is not smelling his own his not smelling his own due to here Uh and and and and you know it's a good conversation. You're not smelling itself my homin And we all think is what we're saying we all think a little bit. We all got some ish We all got some ish man We all got some ish now. Uh, we appreciate your emails once again. You want to get on Friday freedom Uh, we got voice notes. We didn't get to but we got to get on over to this guru man the original gurus at gmail Broom That was my heart. That was my heart The original gurus at gmail.com wait now We've been on point a no way he left out the harps with no the harps built in he doesn't have the heart Oh, damn it man. They would add an after If you hear No, that wouldn't it whatever that was yo, but the effort though no the effort The original gurus at gmail.com the original gurus at gmail.com yeah Your destination for clarity Um, is it just me or do other mothers feel this way? I just need to validate my offence, I guess The statement ma'am. We're gonna have to ask you to control your children is very annoying unpleasant and downright disrespectful Um, been a loyal thought um, I suggested a singular since uh when it's singular the show is joining I'm not getting to that part Okay She goes on says she loves the show. Okay. Yes. I'm in Texas sucks to be me Shout out to shani still have respect for him limited respect for him. She says come on. Yeah, I'm a single mom of high energy twin boys Four-year-old toddlers Sometimes I have no choice but to take them to the store or a shopping with me My mom lives with us, but she could use a break because they're so high energy anyway All this talk of high energy is making me feel that whatever was dead My keep going It was valid It was that it was valid Anyways last week and I had to take them because I needed to buy them new shoes one of them It tossed one shoe out of the car window last week What he's only found comfort and fit in this particular brand. I remembered he mentioned Once that they were too small so I knew from the experience that guessing his new shoes size would be a waste of time You all know these kids grow by the week anyways We get to the store and they start a wild I'm caught between trying to find the exact same shoe and Locating a possible size and being a zookeeper to these wild wild boys each running in opposite directions of monster mommy As you put that in quotes had I done what's in my nature to do which is knock some chill into them I know all of these white parentheses said shani's voice white ladies Wow and some men would have clutched their pearls. I deeply offended by this statement I can't seem to get past it. I truly understand how annoying it is to have infants running around unhinge they're not infants However saying saying it to an out of breath exasperated frustrated parent in a cruel tone control your children It is the equivalent of you're not a good mother. I'm pissed at her. I know. I'm never gonna go back in that store Don't believe I'll continue to be a subscriber to that brand ever again So it was it was someone who worked at the store And it was the store of a specific brand right right right I can I will go first quickly. I validate your feelings. It would feel terrible to have that said That being said Sounds like what you need to do You Control them damn kids But I validate your feelings no facts Facts Yeah, I mean I've been in situations where kids are wiling out and Kids can't be that person. No, no say kids. I can't talk about other people's kids. Oh, oh fact. Okay No with her kids she can while I don't care. I just I don't I have a hard time when people Okay, do not take care of their children if we're at a restaurant and your child is screaming at the top of her lungs or his lungs While everybody else is eating and you're just acting like oh they'll they'll they'll they'll stop when they want to what What is wrong with you? Well, it doesn't sound like first of all this person sounds like they're aware that their children are wild and chaotic Okay, so let's set that aside For your old boys twins Right is a different is a different challenge then I think any of us can relate to on this program There are sacrifices that it sounds like you already make as a parent because you know your kids are wild You need to take this instance on the chin because you know your kids are wild Yeah, you should I'm saying like it's not as if you're delusional Well, she listen She might be trying she said that what it what was her line? She said that you know She would have snatched her kids up or she Whatever whatever but didn't want to do it in that moment because she felt like she would be judged or the people watching might say She was going too hard. I know some people Who have boys that are The more you try to control them the more chaotic it is They are ready to go to war all day long The only thing you can do is keep them in a space where they can be active as active as they want to be They got hor- I mean listen some boys are dealing with the hormones are crazy. They can't sit still Even if you discipline them like it's a thing. I've seen I have nephews that are word disasters. They're good now They're like 11 but when Shout to my shout to my dude mall you know me you were a disaster my guy A does that yo my little nephew Xavier a disaster great kids now I could yo the parents could not do anything They couldn't they couldn't do anything all they could do was take them to activity take them to school and have them in the house There was no restaurants there was no couldn't take them And so what age so what age we're talking about man at least like nine right eight And so you're gonna have to make this out you you have a set of those kids where you're gonna be like listen We're gonna go in this restaurant In the first ten minutes they're gonna be pulling menus. They're gonna be doing whatever and maybe they'll be chill Maybe they'll listen in the second ten to fifteen minutes We're gonna give them a little iPad. Maybe that'll hold them for a second till the food comes And in the third fifteen minutes, we're gonna be wrapping this up and getting in the car There was a period. I had to do that with Easter where it was like all right listen I know at about 20 minutes. She gonna start tripping Which means one of two things I'm taking her out and everybody else gets to stay for dinner and I'm taking her home Or we're wrapping this whole thing up All right, you gotta be realistic with yourself. You gotta and you gotta make exactly Comment how you the truth is it does sound like she kind of punted here And was like I'm gonna just worry about the shoes and their kids were running around the store screen like that's annoying because guess what other people got kids They're there dealing with their like it's tough to deal well and I want to encourage this parent. I don't know what your financial situation is um I think you can do kids shoe measurements They have amazon continue something to the crib for you to measure your kids shoes and feet Leave them don't go and then you can order cop shoes online also cop the shoes cop two pairs of financial you can and send one back amazon takes returns all everybody takes returns You know, I'm saying it's where you don't have to put yourself in that situation anymore That's exactly right and don't and don't blame the brand for one employee in a store Ridiculous Yeah, if you want to complain you could say you could complain to them and say that's a little bit rude That is straight up the person but make sure you tell them that this employee was also right Make sure you mention my kids were wild and your employee was an a-hole, but they were right, but that's not the point Exactly Anyway, I hope this helps so say the gurus so say the goose outro music please it's time I gotta bring in the e-bro lore rose and bird show band ask right Another week in the can Yeah I It's good though.
