You are now tuning in to discover your potential. So listen, participate, be inspired, know that you can discover your potential. It's absolutely true. And you know, when you learn about brain health, you realize that the brain controls everything else. Oh, without a doubt. And I think a lot of people stumble around. And I'll just speak for, you know, our generation. They stumble around between para menopause and menopause and not understanding even the correlation between sleep or stress or hormones. And yet the master on off switch in there is in the brain, is really in, you know, the thalamus, the hypothalamus, the parts of the brain that control that. So I can see it on your face. I can't vouch for what is in your head. But I really think there's a direct correlation between your vibrancy, your health, and who you are and how much joy you have in spreading the word. And speaking of that, let's talk about your event, the joy span event. Where, what is in that name first of all? Where did that come from? So let's just start with thinking about in this health span revolution. Everyone is talking about lifespan and longevity. But what most people want is not just more years of living, which is what our parents got. They got more years of living. What we're trying to give you is more years of living healthier. Yeah. And the idea behind joy span for us was we were looking for measurable, really measurable moments in people's lives. There were moments of dignity. There were moments of joy. Joy, you know, you often hear it talked about as a form of resistance and a form of this. But actually, join itself to the human brain is a time of rejuvenation of the brain. Because the brain is this wonderful mechanism that actually renews itself. And so, so much about what we began doing at Vibes AI and really starting to define the word joy span and really taking ownership of that was that we were going to formulate the company off of, yes, we're going to accelerate the world's access to cognitive health and wellness, but we're going to do so with the idea that today, if we think about it, right, the last 20 years of our parents, the baby boomers' lives, they're living longer lives. But if I was going to chart this out, it would go from, you know, the point that they hit around 65 to 70, it becomes a slight decline. And that decline, you know, as they're getting towards 80 and 85, they are not in good health. And their health trajectories are, you know, they lived longer, but that life, that traditional decline and cognitive function with age did not keep up with the body. And so what you hear physicians talk about, which is the goal, is to extend the year spent in good health and multiply the moment spent in healthy joy. And so that is how we define, you know, if you're, everybody talks about squaring the longevity curve. So if the longevity curve is kind of doing this decline, then what you want to do is square it. Because if you're going to have a decline, you want it to be rapid, you don't need it to be over a 20-year period. Right, right. You know, we all, there is always going to be a decline. There is a beginning and there's an end. So let's, there's not a live forever thing. I'm not here selling that. That's not what we're about. There's a lot of woo-woo out there that's like a live forever. And God bless them if they can figure it out wonderful. What we're trying to truly do is actually really bend that curve and expand people's ability to experience joy longer. Because what we missed, you know, and I think about, you know, your brain is nature's most sophisticated bio-computer. And the key is not about surviving, it's about flourishing. You know, look, we are being inundated with bits of information throughout the day, every day. And so to bring it back to the JoySpan event, you know, we are, we know that community plays a part in your brain health. Yeah. You don't know that. And I don't mean online community, but in-person real community. Online community is good to keep up those relationships, but which is really important to have that physicality. When we talk about a vibe and feeling a good vibe, feeling a vibe is about, you know, trying to create these magical situations. So we created JoySpan as an event. This is our third one. We do them as a salon. And so this is a super important part. It's like we're kind of reviving the great salon tradition where the intimate gatherings sparked enlightenment, but for the age of AI. So just as in the 18th century, salons were brought together, philosophers and scientists and artists that reshaped society, JoySpan's creating that space. We neuroscientists, AI innovators, wellness practitioners, all united with the same passion for both learning. And it's about conscious collaboration. And we create these safe spaces where your curiosity is about everything from prompt engineering to brain optimization. So, you know, I bring these in most conferences that I've been to, AI, I actually come out in a way that is like cognitive overload. And then you don't action up off any of it. It doesn't form, I may have formed new connections, but not new habits. Yeah, the way that we've designed these events is quite literally the salon tradition in the Hudson Valley. In my living room, I have a wonderful home on the Hudson River, 50, you know, 50 miles north of New York City. So we get you out of the buzz into the gorgeous nature of the Hudson Valley. Right. We're in the kind of the lower cat skills. And I bring together phenomenal innovators. This year, we've got some great ones coming. You know, we've got Cindy Gallup from Make Love Not Forms, going to talk about, you know, the connection between sex and brain health. We're going to have Elizabeth Cronus McLaughlin, who is going to talk about it in the sense of women's leadership and how the importance and the neurochemistry of not just expressing joy, but organizing and getting into community and how we do that in small little bits every day. Movements. So, you know, there's some phenomenal things that I think that we're doing. And what we do, this is not about passive sit back learning. You know, it is truly about conscious collaboration, where your curiosity about everything from that prompt engineering to brain optimization techniques with music are really the catalyst for your own personal breakthroughs. Oh, you said that's an example of some of the stuff that we're doing. But you asked, I think, an important question, which is modern life is literally rewiring our brains. Literally rewiring it. You know, we talked a little bit about what's going on with our phones, and it's not just our kids. We're just as guilty as being addicted to the phone. 100%. Right. And so we're here to help people take control of that process. We break down the latest neuroscience and research on how AI and technology affect mental health. Then translate it into practical tools that you can use immediately. It's not some far off thing like, hey, you've got to wait for our app. There are everyday practical solutions that you could do immediately. We spend what, about a third of our waking hours working? And yet so many of us stay stuck in jobs we've outgrown or never really wanted in the first place. Here's what people tell us all the time. What if the next move is even worse? I've already put years into this place. I can't afford to take a wrong step. Who am I without this title? And maybe the most common one, isn't everyone kind of miserable at work? Look, those feelings are real, but they're also exactly what keeps so many people from making a change. That's where Strawberry.Ne comes in. Vibe coding is one of the essential AI literacy skills that we all need to learn, just as prompt engineering is. Then I bring in neuroscience, the neuroscience of leadership that we're going to talk about and how intimate relationships impact our cognitive function. And this is about making cutting-edge science accessible and actionable. Yeah. I love the idea of making this. It's like intimacy is an advantage in small gatherings. Dr. Gayathran Devi, right? Gayathran Devi, she is the head of Park Avenue Neurology. She's actually the author of this really phenomenal book called The Calm Brain. She's going to be there and talking about that. We have Marissa Zalbach, who is an AI ethicist and psychologist. She's really been at the forefront of not just identifying the problem of not having enough social scientists in AI, but actually executing the real-time solutions into AI models. One of my favorite ones actually is Bertha Serre. She's a cybersecurity and responsibility. I love her. We're going to have this phenomenal talk. And I think hers really is about neural security. It's about protecting your mind's operating system. So we always think about cybersecurity as something you worry at work. But actually, think about it as if the new cybersecurity is really about your mental hygiene and not allowing algorithms to hijack your mind. And so she's going to take us through the very practical solutions of that. And I can't leave out Dr. Quincetta Tomeo, who runs a phenomenal organization around the intersection of music. And neuroscience. And so we're going to be talking about orchestrating neuroplasticity with the science of, really the science of sound as medicine. So we've got a heck of a lineup of incredible people that will be here. And then the next part of this is that Vibes AI. You're going to have Vibes AI soundbaths at sunset both evenings, which is a lot of fun. And then you just meet really cool, fun people. And guess what? We provide all the food. And we do brain healthy foods. Right. So everything is tailored. One of the things I have to give a shout out to my daughter who has helped me with my co-founder really build this vision of what this could be and how sound and music can truly be an instrument, not just for entertainment, but for wellness. And we are bringing this forth to open to women and their allies. So that means yes to men who understand that this is truly a gathering of human beings, where it is both a respectful place, but it's also a place to come to open your mind and just truly take a retreat and re-center yourself for the absolute maddening world that we live in. No matter where your belief systems are and what political realm that we live here in the United States, there isn't one person that I talk to that says, I've got too much information. I can no longer, I'm in a state of cognitive overload. And here's the deal, Anna. We knew this at the beginning of my AI career. AI was actually put forth at the time my IBM days when we were working on Watson as cognitive computing. Why do we call it that? Well, cognitive computing was we knew that there would be too much data for the human brain to actually process. And our natural inclination is high performing human beings is to try to process it all. And so what this does is actually gives you the tools, the appropriate tools in AI to get you not to fear AI, because the conversation we're having about AI, I think we talked about it in your other show, which was just the place of it's either fear and loathing, or it's the best thing since sliced bread. And the reality is this, it's somewhere in the middle, so we're going to call the practical tools on how to use it, what to fight for, what to fight against. Yeah. Without tech talking people to death and in a place where we actually statute the actions that we want to see both in our daily lives, our children's lives, and ultimately in a greater society for all your listeners, we try something. So if you've ever heard of the silent disco, it's a whole phenomena that was taken on in Europe and kind of like, if you're into the club scene in New York, you're seeing it in the club scene, but they put different people on different frequencies and you're wearing these headphones. And so what effectively happens is that you start to see people start to have the same movements that are on the same frequency. So we're going to try a little experiment while we're here at Vibes AI's Joy Span and see if we can't get people on different frequencies. And do they gravitate together? Is there a frequency that is universal? You know, these are the things that keep me up at night anyways. This is Cindy Gilman and you're listening to Discover Your Potentials. So until next time, do something nice for yourself, but do something nice for someone else.
