As you know, we always have our annual Mario Kart tournament in the summer, while this year we decided to do something different. Bungee jumping, that's what she's going to say. Toad, don't be ridiculous. This year the tournament will be a race across the Mushroom Kingdom, from the top of our snowy mountains down to the beaches below. Wow, that's different. But I like doing free laps. Great Koopas, he's already complaining. But that's not all. This year we are opening up participation to anyone who would like to race. No way! I'm definitely getting in on this. Nabbit, you shouldn't be allowed to race, you thief. Please see Toadette if you would like to register. One at a time now. Hey, don't push. For the first time ever, contestants will be racing across the Mushroom Kingdom. You heard that right, folks. Gone are the days of simple racetracks. Now the entire kingdom is the racetrack. How exciting. Yoshi! That's right. Yoshi is here with me, folks. That's because Yoshi is the main sponsor of the Mario Kart Tournament this year. There will be a total of 5 races instead of the usual 4, and get this, 4 racers will be eliminated from each race, so by the time we get to the last race, there will be only 4 qualifiers left. Let me tell you what's going to happen. The first race will start in DK Pass in the Snowy Mountains and go to the Great Question Block Ruins. Race 2 will go from the ruins to Mario Circuit. Race 3 will travel from there to Peach Stadium, which is where the castle is located. Race 4 will go from there down to Koopa Troopa Beach. And finally, the last race will take the finalists to Crown City, where everything comes to an end. Woo! I can't wait. Hold on, folks. I'm getting a newsflash. I've been told that people have been traveling to Rogueport to place their bets on certain racers. My, my. People are really into this, and I'm here for it. Keep in mind folks that this is elimination racing, which means that we don't keep track of points. All that matters at the end of the day is where the final four racers end up. I've been told that there's a huge crowd at the castle waiting for the racers to appear. How exciting! There are 16 racers left. By the end of today, four more will be cut. Who will it be? I'm Talking Flower, and you're watching an MKTV Special Report. The racer, known as Cow, came from obscurity. Actually, she came from Moo Moo Farm, a place known for its green pastures and stinky smell. Cow told me she wanted to race. And who was I to stop her? That's Farmer Fred, the owner of Moo Moo Farm. He says that milking the cows each morning is an utter delight. I'm sorry folks. Anyways, we reached out to Cow for comment. Here's what she had to say. She's a lady of few words, and we respect that. that. So far, Cow has been able to stay in the race. She's garnered quite a following. This group has branded themselves the Cow Freaks. We love Cow so much that we have sworn off ever eating steak or hamburgers again. We know that Cow can win this thing. Go Cow, we love you! The race starts at Koopa Troopa Beach and will end at Crown City. Four of the racers will be eliminated halfway through, so the four finalists will compete for that legendary trophy. I don't think he's gonna make it. Hammer time! Hey! Oof! Quit it! Time to take the lead! They're approaching the elimination line, which is right at the entrance to Crown City. You'll make it, and who won't? We're about to find out. Oof! Oh no, I hit a car! This is bad. I can't seem to catch up. And they've crossed the line! Mario, Peach, Bowser, and... Bowser and... Going Gopper! That's a surprise! That means Donkey Kong, Luigi, Sidestepper, and Koopa have been eliminated! Pots and mushrooms! This is it? Out of the way, pedestrians! I'll run over anyone who gets in my way! Graves! This is too close to call, folks! Bring Koopa shells! Take this, Mario! Whoa! You missed? No! Almost there! You can do this, Peach! The finish line is just ahead! The crowd is awaiting the winner! It seems that Coin Copper is behind the other three. But wait! Sweet coins! A blue shell! Coin Copper has launched a blue shell! Oh no! All three are caught in the blast! Coin Copper zooms out in front! I love coins! And Coin Copper has crossed the finish line! What? This is worse than my worst nightmares!
