Summary

Ellie Turbart and James Salter discuss the upcoming NFL Draft one week away, focusing on the Philadelphia Eagles' first-round options at pick 23. They debate whether to trade up for premium talent, stay put, or trade back, analyzing specific prospects across multiple positions including wide receiver, offensive line, edge rusher, and safety.

Insights
  • The 2025 draft class lacks a clear consensus top talent at pick 23, making trade flexibility more valuable than reaching for a mediocre prospect
  • Organizational culture and player development matter more than draft positioning—the Eagles' improved drafting correlates directly with Nick Sirianni's arrival
  • In a weak draft year, acquiring a future first-round pick may provide more value than selecting a marginal prospect in the current round
  • Special athletic traits and measurables (like Kenyon Snack's 4.36 40-time) can differentiate prospects in a talent-thin class
  • Injury history and durability concerns should weigh heavily in first-round decisions, especially for players with red flags

You're listening to the GoBirds podcast. Come on, Red! GoBirds! GoBirds! Hey, hello. It is the GoBirds podcast. Ellie Turbart, James Salter with you. Draft talk for one week away, but I got to start here because... A week from today. Literally, that's why. Yes, one week. Well, I just feel like more emphasis when you say a week from today. Literally a week from today. Yes, that was the whole point. But I got to start where we were a second ago because we're starting by the great show, Veeb, which is a phenomenal show. You've never seen Veeb. You can watch it. I think I'd love it. Ellie goes, yeah, that's a show I really wish I watched. Yeah, it's like, bro, you spend so much of your life watching like strange addiction and this and that, like you could, there's 30 minute episodes, you could squeeze some Veeb in. It's super easy. I wish I could. I very much would like to watch it. It seems right up my alley. I like Julia Lee, Dreyfus. I like the other people in the area. I just never has happened for me, but it might one day. There's a lot of seasons, right? Isn't there like five or six? Yeah, I love it. You're like, wow. That's like, that seems right up my alley. Michael Scott vibes with that answer there. Yeah, you're right. I was like, I didn't think Michael Scott would take. Oh man, I really wish I could have watched that show. What's it? He goes like one day I hoped to have. Yeah, exactly the thing I was thinking of. Oh, I said, so one day I hope to be a part of one of them. Yeah. That was the exact thing I was. Yeah. Same way. Yeah. Maybe if I watched Veeb, we could have inside jokes on that. Probably good. I will say now there's going to be like a playoff game every single night. So I'm not happy to who you talking to. Mr. Like, I know that I'm going, I'm just going to be tired for a while. Like get ready to be tired. I knew feeling for you. Yeah. I feel worse for that. I feel worse for you guys because you're the guys who really get the brunt of it with that. We got to do it now. I got to go in now. Yeah. This is just Elliott. I've got 30 minutes for you. Like you guys really have to get like, I hope that on air it's not as obvious, but you get the off air part and it's actually worse on air. No, sorry. I mean, you're a star now. So I just love you guys. I just blank in apology. Yeah. I have a bike of late about being tired. I'm really sorry. It's just because I mean, being tired is the worst. Well, so it's so funny because it's actually we finally just talk about being 10. Yeah. We're going to get there. Yeah. I meant to the Eagles. We'll get there. Yeah. It is funny though, because like, and you know me and Emily, like we rarely fight. Like we have a really chill. Right. Like we've got a good thing, obviously. The only time historically that we really like have like consistent fights is in the mornings because I am tired and I'm kind of a jerk in the morning. But like this is a new thing with that. No, no, no, no. I'm saying this is actually been the best part about being in the morning. You don't see her in the morning. We never fight. Yeah. Like we like every once in a while on a weekend, we'll get a little thing and it'll always end with me being like, isn't it so nice we never see each other in the morning. I've said this on the pop before, but it's so true. Like there is no better feeling than when a fight ends and it's like, it's just like, all right, now we can just enjoy the. Yeah. Move on from this. That happens. I never want to be doing it. Yeah. Ever. I'm like, this is pointless. Yeah. I hate this. Actually, it's not a good. I love when you do that. So yeah. Watch me. It is a really, really funny show. I don't believe you when you say there's a shot. Oh, watch it. You got it. I will. I feel like Kristen has maybe seen it, which would hurt my. That would hurt it. It would be if she hasn't though. I feel like that's it. I mean, people like, well, it'd be a really good airplane show, like download five, six episodes or a trip. Sure. Eagle schedule coming out soon. So no, like, yeah, it's really funny. By the way, I'll know. Actually, I feel like this is pot appropriate. Corey from Columbus said if we do Tennessee, he's in. So that would be Justin. That would be Corey. We please schedule Tennessee, not in September. Well, we really have to hope. Oh, because of the Phillies. Yeah. Yeah. Well, they were in October really. Wow. I mean, they might even worry about that one. Hey, now, it'll be good to go. Well, it should be fun. I hope some recording after this. Yeah, it'll be good. I. I love both my pods. Love both you guys. Yeah. They're day rare days when I'm like very excited for one part and not at all excited for the other. Today's one of the. So not looking forward to I hope today. I hope Jack's okay. I thought I had a good text over the weekend. You sure did. On Friday. Sure did. Yeah. On Friday, I'm at Cape May. I'm out and I saw they were up. You're having fun. Yeah. I saw they were up for nothing and I texted in the baseball chat, but wow, they were up for nothing. What happened? Nobody responded. Well, I've known that like, I know Jackson, and I know that if I respond, Jack will just get mad at me too. So I just stay out of it. I just laugh and put my phone away. He gets really upset. It sounds like an abusive relationship. No, he just gets really mad when Elliot talks Phillies. Phillies, yeah. Which is crazy because I'm right. Yeah. He doesn't like it. He doesn't like it. It's awesome. He's like Sidney Crosby and that famous guy was like, I don't like it. It's a good club. I don't like it. It's a great cut. It's a bit of a shame. It's a bit of a shame. The Sixers don't have more of a chance against the Celtics and honestly don't know what chance the Flyers have against the Penguins. It's kind of nothing. It's hockey. Yeah. It's like, it is kind of like just odds. Rivalry wise though. And the Phillies play the Braves this weekend. Are you kidding me? It's like, honestly, one of the great rivalry weekends I remember in my life as a Philadelphia sports fan. From an odds perspective, though, just to give an example, I haven't looked up the Flyers. Please. Just to show you the difference in the two chances according to. OK, so my guess for the Sixers is the Celtics are like minus 400 ish, but I don't have a read on like the Flyers. Now it is hockey and they're hot and they're a big market team. So I'm going to go Penguins minus 175. You're much closer on the Flyers. The Flyers, the Penguins are minus 152. The Flyers are plus 126. It's not bad. Basically a toss. Yeah, pretty close. Yeah. Obviously favorite. These Celtics minus 400 are minus 1000. OK, all right. The Sixers are plus 660. So I will say this. I basically they're saying that the Flyers have a six times more likely chance. And that is how it feels. I think the Sixers have almost no chance. I think it's like no chance. I would I love seeing that. You know, like plus 660, that gets me out of bed. Yeah, exactly. I'm like, I got a better idea. Yeah, I'm not doing it. Like, because I think they have no chance. Honestly, I wish I had enough money to bet on the minus 1000 and just bet like 10,000 to 1000. Spike said this and it's so true. I think they could play the Celtics without Tatum and Brown. And so it's just such a good example. It's like an organization. Exactly. It's just like it's a little like the 2024 Eagles. Not really. But just like when a team is clicking on all cylinders. And honestly, this was a good thing. I've been thinking about recently, too. Like when the Eagles played Washington, that final game of the season, and it was all backups, but they just look bad. It was sloppy and they didn't win as opposed to before. And they beat up on the Giants. And like the Celtics with nobody playing beat the magic in a completely meaningless game. Like I think these meaningless games can sometimes be so telling of like who you are. And honestly, it's why I value training camp practices. Because I think like it just is a good sign of how you're clicking on all levels. Now, you're right. Things can, you know, obviously you're a big. The season doesn't begin till week five. Like I'm not saying it's end all be all. But I do think just organizationally, you got to get to a place where it doesn't matter. Like it's just a culture thing. I totally agree with the Eagles. I don't think had that last year. It wasn't as bad as the Sixers, obviously. But like the Celtics just seem to have that. Yeah, they could put anybody in there. And then they do have Jalen Brown and Jason. Yeah. Now, the only thing I'll say, and then this is not a Sixers pod, so we'll stop. But like I do think like Paul George, Maxine and Vijay and Vijay are at least like interesting. You always think I agree. They're not going to rest of the team. It's nine to twelve. The disaster and the Celtics are super good. And I don't even think Joel coming back would be like a net positive. Honestly, it just don't matter. Yeah. Yeah. But it will be fun to have a game every night. And look, hey, just forgetting that the teams themselves sit Sixer Celtics playoffs by your Penguins playoffs. Like that's cool, man. Exactly. And we don't normally get the Flyers playoffs. Certainly not in recent years. That makes it more exciting. All right. Let's talk birds. And we said at the top, you know, you clarified that I didn't say it well enough. But we are one week away today from the draft. One week from today, we'll be getting ready. You'll be, you know, get one of the most important people in our lives. We'll be entering it. Yeah. What a fun thought. Like someone who we are going to root for for at least the next five years and hopefully a lot longer. Yeah. You know, it's going to be a part of our lives. Let's get into it. I have my guys. I'm excited to hear lots of research put into this. Yeah. Maybe not big film watching. Maybe not lots, but but some put in this. Here's what I'll say. Elliot's lists are going to be much more researched and much more. Elliot is even going to tell you where they might draft. I'm just going to tell you guys. I like it's a tough draft. I will. It's tough to gauge. So I went through a lot of mock drafts. A lot of a lot of changing. I couldn't get a feel all for my mock drafts. I only have one name on my list that I am sure will not be there. Like no matter what, no chance he's going to be there. And I think a lot of my names might not be, but it's a possible tell. Like, but, but I'm only throwing him on that. I don't think they're going to trample. Before we get up. Yeah, the names. Yeah, let me let's just big picture. Yes. And you might not have a just because, you know, like you said, you're. I don't know that right to feel this. I I just want to emphasize this. I do not think it is a good first round. Yeah, it just seems like I just don't like. And so again, there are guys that if they take a 23, if they trade up or trade back, I think you will do a pod and say, you know, there's definitely a world where I like who they picked. I'm not saying there's no talent at all. But I just really, really don't think at 23. There's a player that you sit there and go, he's like a natural fit, good position, probably going to be there. Like, I think they're going to have to trade up for a guy I like. I trade up or trade back. Yeah. And then just trade back or whatever. But I'm saying to my guys, I think almost all the guys I mentioned will probably go ahead, but they're all in range, except for one. But this is where I would say, like, I would love if they ended with a 20, 27 first. I think that would be chef's kiss. Like that would be we do the pod. And yes, it will suck. They don't have anybody. But honestly, they don't need anybody. Like they need. Well, they need guys. But I know you know, the point is, I don't think they're winning the Super Bowl this year. So I'm OK with them pushing into the night. But I'm saying like this. I've said this multiple times. It feels like I think they're still going to compete. They're going to try and win. I don't think they're like purpose of trying to lose or anything. But I think with the change over in scheme, with kind of like the reshaping a little bit of the roster with the payments that are coming up, like this feels like a transition year. Yeah, I still think they're like top 10. I know. And they can win the surrounding team. That's for sure. We're not even top 10 going to last year. And they won the Super Bowl. I agree with you. I'm just saying philosophically, it doesn't feel like the foot's on the pedal the same way it has other. Agreed. Agreed. So and I also think we talked about this, the benefits of having 2027 first, when you're going to be looking for a new lane, maybe. Yeah, no, I will be totally happy if they trade it first. I feel good about it. Yeah, I agree. All right, let's get the names. The only name that will definitely be gone. But I just like if your name Ruben and you spell it like the sandwich. Oh, wow. So we're going to be in on you. We're going to disagree on that. A bit of an undersized edge rusher, but super duper talented. Like productive. Like he looks special on tape. They're not going to get him. He's going to be a top eight pick. So yeah. So all right. So this is where he was in the top 10 of every single mock I looked at. Yeah. Every single one. I don't think he'll be a 23. It wouldn't shock me if he got to like I would trade up for him at like 15 or 15. I know. I knew you were not my kind of guy. He's so not. He's undersized. He's undersized. He's just not your guy. It's a simplistic way to look at things, but it's how it's how I view the world. And again, is there more simplistic than his name is Ruben spelled like the sandwich? It's very good. You know, like if you're not a six six, like six, five special edge with like a long body, I'm just not taking you in the eye. You know, you're doesn't mean he can't be a good player, but I would certainly not trade up for him. I think there's no way they're going to get him. I think he's the only one unless I do not like they're going to get. All right. My favorite player who I also don't think I think he's going to go higher. He's been we've talked about them. And I'm like, this is such a Jeremiah love. I actually really do like Jeremiah love that too. Dawson, but I'm not like, but I think there's a lot of there's no chance we're taking him. Obviously. But I think this idea of taking the top five is still pretty crazy. Like I do think he's that good. I wouldn't do it, but I think he's as good as Beach. Like I think he's like, yeah, he'll be a very good NFL player. He is that love. But I agree with you. I, you know, I would never use that pick on him. But I think he's worthy of the talent. Yes, I agree with that, especially in a weak draft. But like, I know it's like, obviously, I'm brand, but like, I'm fully in on Kenyon Snake. Like I think I think he's awesome. And to your point, when I look at this job, because I agree with you, like a lot of guys didn't jump off the page to me or jump off the screen to me. It was like, there's a lot of like fine guys. It feels like it feels like he is has a chance to be one of the special players in this draft. So I'll hold some of my Kenyon City takes from when I do my list, but I'm fully with you. OK, like I when I first started my draft stuff, I wasn't as in on Kenyon City because he also checks a little bit of the Reuben Bay, Jr. Box, where he is not like a six, five, not a prototype. Yeah. But man, you just watch. First of all, I watch him. His 40 time was insane. 40 times insane. He was like a four, three, six. No one else did less than a four, five. Dude, that's as fast as I say. It's like two seconds faster. He's honestly, if you just, and this would be really easy to do with me, because I don't know a lot about college football, if you just showed me tape and said, look at this receiver, I'd be like, wow, like that dude looks awesome. Yeah. So and that was my thing. That's basically what I did. I went in and I watched some highlights. He looks like AJ, right? He looks awesome. Now, and I think that what they want to do, again, this is conjecture, but what they want to do on offense, I think, yeah, I think they want a guy who can kill him over the middle field. It could be a Zachar. It's type player for them. Agreed. So I just think he fits. I think he makes a ton of sense. And I think to the point made like, I think he's one of the few guys who you look at and be like, oh, that guy has special traits for his position and for what they're looking. Agreed. OK. So he's my favorite. My number one guy that in the range that they could end up with his Kenyon City. You mentioned him yesterday, but after and again, let me just specify, I know nothing about watching O-line tape. I'm basically on a measurable and I'm what I read about people. But like, I really like Monroe Freeling. Yeah, he seems like everything. It kind of like huge. He's six, seven. Like he's a big boy. He checks the big boy. He checks the big box, played at Georgia. You like that, you know, like seems like a leader. Everything I read about him is like he's like a football guy or that. So like I let and also I think the name Monroe, like I just I don't know why, but it feels like an offensive lineman name. It's a good name. Overall, me and Monroe Freeling. So to your point, obviously, I don't know what I'm looking at when I watch offensive linemen. When you read about him, I like him. But also when I did the draft pods with Devin Jackson, the Enquirer and Emory Hunt, like they both loved him and just, you know, blind cosign there. Yeah, you guys know exactly if they really like him, like I'm in on him. Yeah, totally agree. Otherwise, offensive linemen wise, I don't love this guy as much. We've talked about, but if they're going to go and I would take the tackle, I would take Monroe Freeling. Yeah, but I do think Caden Proctor as a guard tackle guy. You don't love him as much. I like him. I like him a lot. No, I used to look like Monroe Freeling better. I've only had two offensive linemen on my list. I like him more than the other guys. I'm saying if they're not going to get freeling in the range, I want Proctor. I like him a lot. I just would take Monroe over him because I would take. So you would like, let's say they're both on the board. They're both on the board. I'm taking Freeling because I'm taking the tackle. OK, but I really like Caden Proctor. If they end up with him, I'm happy with Caden. I think he's a versatile talent. The guy is big like all that. He would be big at guard. You know, he'd be like having back then at guard. I mentioned before, and when you laid out the wide receivers for me, it felt like he was going to be my favorite. And Denzel Boston is my favorite receiver. Agreed. Size. The I like the AJ replacement. He's the AJ replacement. He just makes the most sense. And then the last guy on my list, and I don't want them to take him here, especially because they took McComb in the second round last year. But I do like Emmanuel McNeil-Warn. I like, no, we got to mix up. Yeah, I didn't want to be on the same. It's not as in on him. I think he's talented. Like he's big. He's like a disruptor. Yeah. So and look, you've been pretty good on safety. Do you like to M and worry a lot? He was a stud for Seattle. Yeah. I don't love him. He's last on my list. I don't want them to take a safety in the first round. I don't think they'll take a safety on the first round. I just like him as a player and he fits. I have a bit of a different opinion on this on my list. But I again, I don't want him. I will not be psyched if he's the bit. But don't don't you feel like you kind of left this being like? Because you're very unimpressed. Yeah. Underwhelmed to even the look. That's the thing, too, is like we're I'm only looking for orange. Even the top guys, like it's like, yeah, even Mendoza. No one else in quarterback is not. I don't love the Bayley. David Bailey is the best. It seems like Dave Bell is going to be the second because the traffic is like, he didn't blow me away when I watched. So it's like, it seems like the Cowboys are definitely going to trade up, too. Which if I'm the Cowboys, like good, I find the breath. Yeah, like go for it. So when I look at this list, Sadiq is like other than trading from, you know, 23 to 20 or 18 or somewhere you can, you know, I'm going to jump. The only guy I'm going up to like 14 for something that is Sadiq. So I think a key spot for the Eagles in this draft will be the Lions at 17 because the Lions and the Panthers at 19. Yeah, they're both O line, at least definitely the potential tight end. Right. The Lions definitely are. So I think if if one of the we didn't like the Lions, we didn't talk about the top two tackles, the one out of Miami and then I just didn't think they're going to be there. Agreed. But I think the one up Miami, Moango or whatever. Yeah, yeah, I definitely. Yeah, I'm not going to try. But like there there would be a little bit of an interesting world where if one of them falls, I would be very interesting. But assuming they did, it's not a Dillard situation. They did their homework. Yeah. No, I agree. So this is a bit of a side note, but talked about on the daily pot and curious for your perspective. So like if you look at the Eagles drafting before and after Nick got here, it is crazy how much better they've been drafting since Nick got here. Oh, yeah. And it aligns with that. We always say like, look at the heater, how he's been on. It aligns directly with Nick arriving. Unless you want to give him the Jalen pick from the year before is the only one we're like from the Jalen pick. But it's really not. It was just the Jalen pick and then also the rest of the draft was bad. And, you know, the next year with the 2020 draft, you can kind of blame Nick. Not blame. You can also blame covid. Agreed. Well, yeah, for sure. Yeah. Yeah. But you take 2020 out. He was barely part of it for the covid draft. No, he wasn't here. He wasn't here. Yeah. He helped develop those players. Oh, yeah. Oh, I got coach after one year. That's all I mean. But like the player development has been so much better. So fast. So I don't love a lot of people in this draft. There is definitely for me a logic of like, they'll figure it out. Yeah. Like a talented guy who you can give to these people. That's interesting. All right. So before you get to your list, quickly, Elliot, we got to get into this because it's draft month and everyone's focused on the birds. Like we are who they're going to take in the first round. It's literally what we're talking about while we're scouting prospects. You better look at the scouting report on your own house with April weather jumping up and down. And it is you're probably opening, closing those windows every five minutes and they're sticking or leaking air. You've got a massive hole in your defense before the summer. He even starts, Elliot. That's why that's why that is why you need a blue chip talent like window nation on the roster. Their crew are like a well oiled two minute drill. They can usually finish your home in an entire day. Finish your entire home in just one day, I should say, with zero disruption to your life. Speed is everything like we're talking about these prospects, but you need the stats to not as big on that in college. To be completely honest, kind of edged rushers I am. But window nation offers over 1500,000 colors. So you're getting a custom perfect fit. So you know, window nation knows ball when they're talking about blue chippers. All right. That's a deep go birds cut. Thank you. And that contract that he gets fully guaranteed with the lifetime. Yes. Lifetime warranty plus for April, it's their buy more, save more event. We can save up to 50% off all windows. And you can get 0% interest financing for five full years. So go to window nation dot com today to schedule your fast free consultation. That's window nation dot com go birds go birds go birds. They had no birds. Yes, that was on the sheet. Yes, that was not you just putting that in there. It was, you know, you didn't. I didn't have to clarify that. Had a way for a second. I didn't take a bird. Everyone knowing, even though I'm on the go birds podcast story. I may I do think go birds quite a bit. Yeah, it's a great phrase. Meet the new Hocuspeed goat seven. Proven grip, comfort and control for runners who meet the wild head on. From steep climbs. To slick descents. And loose rock. Speed goat seven run wilder. Explore more on hoker dot com. OK, Elliot, the floor. Mine was the little appetizer. It's not the main course. So my overall. I be dessert. Oh, you are already. You know, you are. You're a snack. That's not for work right there. Yeah, it's a snack earmuffs. But so like. Just don't say as Elliot. I'll figure out again. We'll never do the curse word pod. But I just think it's really want to do it. It's so clearly. Well, I don't think you need the pod. It's the F word, the B word and they were like that. That's a C word. I think that's obviously not a good name. Wow, you think it's OK to call someone. It's it's more of like a. Like a like a. You watch too much reality TV. So you're all right with that. It's a bad word. I'm not advocating. I'm not. I'm a word, but it's not above those three. I don't know. I think I. Let's put this way. I will throw the F word around in the house. Sometimes it's always heard me say the F word. Yeah, he has never heard me. I agree. I agree. I'd feel more comfortable saying the F word publicly. I see word. But I think it's. So what does that tell you? I think it's in a different category. What does that tell you? It's not a good word. I'm not in on the word. I'm not co-signing the word. I'm saying, though. A word is a top three. No. So all right. Here's like, like I've said, my thought. You are. It is funny. My thought process on this going in is I would like to get a 2027 first. I'm that is your number one goal, right? But if you're not going to do that, Ellie, it's in for a fun draft. Yes. Well, just. Yeah. But if they're not going to do that, they got it if they got the if they trade 23 for a future first, but then we're able to trade AJ for the 31st thing up back in and got a pick in the right one that was on the. So I mean, they could also trade back from 23 to like 27. And then if Ty Simpson's still on the board, maybe someone jumps. Oh, you're going there. Yeah. Like I think Ty Simpson is who someone trades a first. I do. I don't think he's. Ty Simpson is a late first round. He's like the Jackson Darden. Yeah. So if I'm the Eagles, that's what I'm hoping for. And there's some talk like the Browns like him, Andrew Barry and how we have a relationship trip. By the way, I'm like a little more into the Eagles getting Miles Garrett. Whoa. Just like the restructured contract. He's not happy with the coach. I don't know. But anyway, so to quote a song, we have been happy with the coach. The. Yeah, I know. Trust me. Like there are a lot of people saying about the monkey. I mean, I took me a second. You said he's not with the coach. I'm like sitting there like, wait a minute. Who did that? And then I was like, oh, yeah, it was the monk and maybe he'll. It's an old disaster. But you want to talk about having no franchise. It is the they hired a six year old offensive. Courtney was never an anchor defensive defensive guy. No, no, monk and. Is he? Oh, yeah, you're right. That I mean, like in all time, just like what the bleep. I agree. Not exciting whatsoever. It was going to be the Giants offensive coordinator. Sorry. John, I got to believe. Well, and Miles Garrett wanted Jim Schwartz. I don't love Jim Schwartz. No, but. So you're like one guy on your team. You want to make happy. Yeah. So anyway, if the Browns want to jump up to 23, by the way, I think Jim Schwartz wanted to be Jim Schwartz, too. Yeah. How about someone that very clearly wants to be a head coach? Yes, certainly. Well, we'll cut anyone's kneecap out to get to almost after respect. Oh, yeah. Don't hunt him on the Eagles, but actually. Well, it is funny. I do I do respect in ricks. We always talk about like the fan geotypes or what these guys are like, all right, I did that. It didn't work. I'm not going to. And Joe's in a very good. Yeah, like there are a lot of those guys. I think you're like, except that I'm a coordinator. And it is not. No, no, especially because it's been a long time since I go. You agree. I'm doing it. Yeah. And he's never going to. I don't think he'll be a good coach. Yeah. Yeah. Like I think maybe if Monkin is an all time disaster year one, then maybe no one else wants it. Yeah, maybe. And then they're like, that's his best case. No wrong. Yeah. But that would be what a terrible job to take. Again, he couldn't hire anyone but top Monkin. Yeah. Well, there. Yeah, agreed. So if they want to be dumb enough, by the way, I don't like Ty Simpson just putting that out there. Oh, I don't either. I said this. Six one is barely played. 15 games. She's like a worse version. Anthony Richardson. Like I would take him in the third round if I'm a team. But if I'm a team that has great infrastructure and a great QB coach on it, I would take him in the third round and maybe take a shot on developing. He doesn't seem physically special. He is. And he's played 15 games. Like he doesn't have either. He doesn't have either of the things that you don't want to look. Here's a question. So, you know, Carson Beck, I would assume. Of course. Yeah. So, Miami. He's expected to go in like the third or fourth round, right? I think he is the closest thing to Shador, where if they draft him or Drue Aller, but I think Drue Aller will go in the top two. Where they were people talk about. Yeah. Like if they draft person. I mean, the fourth, I think there'll be a little like. I could be more out on Carson. See, I'm kind of in on him. You know, not as like a great prospect. The clip about him not watching film. It was just like I'm out. Oh, he said he doesn't watch film like. Pretty impressive all the success. Like he just doesn't watch film. I was like, all right, I don't love that either, obviously. But I do like that he's played at big time programs. Yeah, I'm just out on back. He's got all the measurable. Yeah. I'm just out on back. And I do think it matters if you played at big time. Sure, it doesn't hurt. So anyway, I want to use this line because I think it'd be such a good pod title. This is the sole reason I'm saying. Wow. So first time we've done this. Calling is shot. Yeah. So we've been. We talked about it in the pod, like the pod group chat. I think if you're not going to trade out. Why not take a crazy chance? Just. Oh, is that is that the title? I don't want to tell you. Oh, is that the name of the song? Yeah, I didn't know why not. But the line. OK, OK. So I don't I this is a you and Tucker. Yeah, you were in the chat, but you didn't really. I was there. I was scrolling back. Yes, I don't have the Lizzie McGuire affection that you guys do. It's crazy. It's an easy person to have affection for. Well, I don't just like Hillary. I just didn't watch Lizzie McGuire. So I don't have that. So here's what I would say. If you're doing in 2001. Yeah, being in college. You should have a little different for your big, your buddy over here. Yeah. So if you're wearing a lot of Lizzie McGuire hanging sashes. So I have three groups for guys here. One is guys I trade up for guys I take at 23 and guys I trade back for. So obviously, by the way, I'm with you on the trade up thing again, especially like Sadiq, I would do that. If there's only a handful of special guys in the draft and they're available. Now, obviously, the price, you have to think about that. I would not trade a future first for any of these guys. Definitely not. I would. No, absolutely. But if you're trading like a future to, I don't know, you could convince me. I don't love it, but I would think about it. So the guys I would trade up for were in on the same page. Kenyon Sadiq, like I said, when I started the draft process, I didn't want to like them just because of the body type, like shortish arms. Excuse me. I was a big Eli Stover's guy. But Kenyon Sadiq, I think will he's like, undeniably, he will be a great NFL player. He's undeniable. He and also, I think he's somewhere where if you add him, you add juice to the offense where people are excited. Like, I agree with you. You know, there's a lot of like also goes like, what was I mean, Earth's like, we've never had this. Like they've never taken it on the first round. Yeah, they've never had it early. Second round, Earth's second round, but they never like had this like elite physical like, let's bring in this stud. And again, I do think not that this is why you should make a pick, but there is a feeling of running back on offense. I think Kenyon Sadiq would have people like, oh, things could be different. I agree with you. Yes. Also, he should take, would you put him in like 81? Take it from Calcuttaire or would you put him in a single digit? So I think I generally like 81 would be OK in 81. But like, I think he could pull off a single. I think he could. Because he's cool like that. So I would consider trading up for Kenyon Sadiq. If you leave with Kenyon Sadiq, I feel good. Like, like you've at least added someone I feel confident about will help the team. I don't think there's a lot of projecting with him. Like, you know what he's going to be. He's a great router runner and he blocks. He blocks and he certainly like, you might have great up. He's willing to put the body on like it. All right. So the other guy I would trade up for. I am in on Caden Proctor. OK. So over over Monroe Freeling. I guess. Because you like the guard part. Well, I just think he always he's a special athlete. Yeah, that's he is. I like him too. I would be Monroe Freeling either either one. I would be happy. And again, with the two guys ahead on the pod telling me they really like him, that matters to me. I'm a little concerned he's not special, athletically and like and this whole like he gets like. Yeah. And I do worry like we talked about the whole like, oh, you like our attack. Yeah. It's like, well, is he great? So that's my Monroe Freeling thing. I think they think he's a great tackle. Yeah, sure. I just think Caden Proctor. I I agree with your point and is stuck with me that like when you're drafting the lane replacement, I want it to be a tackle. That's why I want to draft the lane replacement next year, which I'm fine with to depending on how I also think we underestimate a little bit. They need potential replacements. There's three spots to a Witcher guard. Now, you don't want to take a guard in the first round. But Caden, I don't we don't know for sure that Dickerson is going to retire into your register. You know, he might have a great year. 100. You know, you don't know 100 percent. Or he could get hurt week two and never play. Totally. Yeah. I think the landing feels more sure. You know, yeah. But I think in a draft that's lacking special athletes to me like Ruben Bay and Junior, I was a good call. I think Caden Proctor is someone that every draft class is a first round. I don't know if it's athletic. Yeah, I would trade up for him. Same with Sadeek. Yes, exactly. I think both of them are first round picks in every year. Yeah. All right. So the guy that would qualify for me as like you don't like many players in the draft, but you're just getting a stud. And I think his might be obtainable is Caleb Downs, the safety out of Ohio State. Like so I don't love taking a safety in the first round in general. Right. And he's been going earlier. Yeah. Because that's why I didn't really think. Yeah. But if he falls to fall, you're safe. Exactly. I mean, I'm fellow 21. You know, I think he's awesome. I think like you're adding a day one impact player to position a need. And I don't think you want to draft for need, but the reality is the reality. Right. And I think why they would like to go offense. It just to me feels like a sure thing. Whereas like other picks we talk about, I think there's some projecting and some risk. If I can get Caleb Downs, I don't love the positional value, but I love the player. I love what he did. Yeah. And like talk about your secondary at that point. Like Quinn, Yon Cooper, Tariq, Wollin will see. But man, you put Caleb Downs at safety. Like it lessens the burden on Makuba. Now, again, someone you have to trade up for. But I would I would like he's so good. I would take him. The other trade up guys who won't happen, but Carnell Tate. Like, yeah. So I didn't put him on my list. He is the best receiver in my opinion. I think he is. I think I like Denzel Boston a lot. I like Denzel Boston, but I would take. I just I thought there was no chance to be near where we're at. So I said no to take. So one guy agree with you. I would take the Ohio State guy like. One guy that I'm kind of close to taking off my board as a first round pick. I'm worried about Jordan Tyson and I love him as a player. I really like what like when I watch him, what he does, his skill set. He's big. He can make big plays down the field. Like he's the question Watson asked. Yeah, agreed. Now, I think you can get someone like Christian Watson later in the draft, like Ted Hurst, the guy from Notre Dame, the guy from North Dakota State. It's not Tray Lance, but I always want to call him Tray Lance, but it's very close. Yeah. Like I think there's guys with similar Jordan Tyson, but my Christian with Christian Watson was North Dakota State too. Right. Yeah, exactly. It's like the same player. Yeah, his name. It's T Lane or something. Tray Lane. Yeah. I'm just worried about the name. And again, I don't have that information. The Eagles would have more information, but I would be worried to the Eagles track record on health risks. Not great. It's not as great as I think Sydney Jones and Landon Diggers. I'm a good one, but they've had some quick question because I got into this debate with Zach Berman at the press conference. Would you say Nicobi Dean was a successful third grump? Yes. All right. So I would agree with you. Like I ultimately would say yes. But here's what I would say about Nicobi. And I think it applies when we're talking about injury prone players. They didn't get a second contract out of the Kobe. He missed about half his time here. And he was very good when he played for sure. But like, and I think he only didn't get a second contract here because he got because he priced out like he made money. Well, because I played well here is my draft. Jihad. Right. But also because he made 12 million a year. He was good. Right. Because he was good here. Like I think at the end of the day, it was a good evaluation. I think I think of a third round pick gives you anything like where you're he's a he's a good player for you. It's a good pick. I think any like, you know, I do agree. But it's also kind of like how many three you really want a second. Gave you on Taylor and a Kobe. Yeah, for sure. Again. But I think you I think you first or second round. You need a second. I don't think you really want a third or fourth. I think you just if they give you something over those years, like I'm going to they definitely got good value out of. Yeah, for sure. I get your point. Like it's not a great one because of that. But I think it was a good pick. So Carnell Tate, I wouldn't give up a first to go get him. But if I mean, as in addition to 23, you could talk me into like a second. If someone would take a 20, 28 second, I would love that. Yeah. But I just think he's a sure thing. Like those are my four players. Caden Proctor special. But then Caleb Downs, Kenyon, Sneak and Carnell Tate, I think are the sure things you can get on offense that will that will help you. OK, I love it. All right. So now we're at the stay at the pick guys. Yeah. So the guys I would take a 23 if there's no trade. So you don't have a single. Like you have to take Denzel Boston is on there. I like Denzel Boston a lot. I think physically he looks able to be a number one receiver. I he wins contested catches bigger than AJ. Yeah. He's in like he's good after the catch, which I feel like is a little surprising for someone that size. Like that was something that was a big part of my drop process. Should be, you know, Ruben Bain, you know, Monroe Freeling, Ken Siddique, Jack Fritz, Denzel Boston, like these are all names. Well, it would be funny to if the new receiver the Eagles take is Boston. Yeah. Trade AJ. It would be funny. Actually, right. Yeah. So I would take Monroe Freeling at 23. I would not love it, but it's something where I would sit here and go, like, these people make sense. Yeah. And but again, he better be able to play guard. I just don't think you can sit a guy for you. I don't love it. Like I get it. Yeah, I don't think you can play guard. All right, guys, I would. I would not put Monroe Freeling in card. Yeah. And I mean, if they think he can do it. Yeah, yeah. My guess is he can't. I don't know for sure, but I I would be surprised if you could do it. So Denzel Boston, Monroe Freeling, the guys I would take at 23. Guys where I would trade back for where I don't love taking them in the first round. But like if you can move back seven spots, get or, you know, four spots, whatever, get one of them, you get an extra draft pick like. So Max Maxi Hanichur out of Arizona State seems like he's a great athlete. Seems like he's positioned versatility. Don't know him. Yeah. So that's why I'm. I've only been talking about. But he seems like to me, one of the more intriguing offensive linemen in the next round. As much as it will be. Yeah, no, he's like a tackle. OK, the people think you can play guard. The two ed rushers I like to be clear, I think it's a bad ed rush. It is a horrendous. Again, Ruben Bain should be going in the 20s in the 20s. Yeah, that's why I like him because he should be there at 23. Right. So Kendrick Falk and Malachi Lawrence are the two edges that I have interest in. But again, I would not love taking them. And then this is a pick I is like a pure. I just think he'll be an awesome player. You have to take someone in the first round. I like the safety at Oregon, Dylan Theanamon. He just sounds like an awesome player. Sure. So like it's a sure thing. I feel confident that he will be a good player. So of the guys there, Dylan, I think is is a sure thing. Maxi Hanichur checks like the box where you're looking for an offensive lineman. And then they do need an edge to a degree. And those are my favorite edges. I am not in on Emmanuel McNeil-Warn, which means he'll be an awesome player. Toledo, buddy. I just pump out secondary guys. So all they do is pump out good secondary players. Yeah. So that's where I'm at. I would prefer if they traded back, try to get another first. I don't think there'll be someone there at 23 where I'm like, you've got to take that guy. I do think Proctor will go early. So I'm at. OK. This is good. I feel more ready for the draft. Well, I'm not Saturday. We've got Saturday go birds. We need to talk to our frigid people like we need Justin. We need Cori Justin. We need Cori. We need our draft. Yes, Perts on with us. Virginia. Yes. Yeah. Justin Richmond. Like I get some draft. Call me while that's what's making I know. I know. I know as well. So yeah, we need we need all our people. It's going to be a fun show. And then obviously next week, we'll lead you up to the draft and react after and all that. Yes. All right. Let's do some thoughts. OK. Do you want to go first today? Again, if you want me to, I would prefer that. Really? Yeah. You don't want to go first. You I knew it. I knew it. That's why I need a second. That's why I knew it. I knew it. All right. So this is bottom of the barrel final. OK. But I need to re up. I need to like go out. Yeah, you need to live life. Exactly. You should add your phone out. All right. Would you rather be four feet taller or four feet shorter? I don't hate this is a final thought. OK. I think it's. I'd rather be. So I like let me play. No, this is I'm five nine. So there's a dream nine foot nine. Yeah. We're being one foot six. So there is like a massive like it sucks either way. I think this is a loss. I don't want to be either. But I think you have to go nine foot nine. I feel like really. So I think it's the other one. So you can't do anything. They can't try. OK. So if you're nine by nine, you might not be able to drive. You just get convertible. So one thing I would say is, oh, God, nine, nine is really hard. I don't know the science behind this. Well, obviously, I think you're living longer. Well, of course, yes. We're taking that out of account. I think I think it's part of it. Well, if it's if it's you die immediately at nine, I know there's people who are like seven feet tall of short. True. True. Like nine nine. I think it's more. Let's look at it from the the practicality. I think you never had a better life at less than two feet. You just you might just go in a wheelchair like it. I think that that's your life. Like you roll around a wheelchair. Like at least if you're nine nine or sorry, if you are nine nine. Now, you might have to be in a wheelchair, too, because you're so big rooms. But you would be unable to like go to a restaurant. Yeah. Like everywhere you walked, people would be like, oh, my God. I have a bad eye. Yeah, I think it's right. You're right. I think you probably want to be one foot six. But that's it. You realize that's this. No, I agree. But they're agreed. Like you're like in danger of like predators and stuff. Yeah. Well, I got an angry dog could kill you. You'd have to be in. I think you would be in a wheelchair and like. Why though? You could walk your little. Take your big. Well, I just think to your point, you would be higher up. Like, oh, like a real like a full wheel. Like, yeah, like one of the wheelchairs like automated. Yeah, I get a little bit. Yeah, I don't know. I guess I would go home. I think your life would be more normal. I don't agree. Roughly roughly. It would be a tough break for all of this. And now the flip side of being ten feet is if if you could do it, we're taking like a play basketball, you could potentially make hundreds of millions. Yeah, it's going to be harder to earn a large income. Yes. At two feet. Yeah. I think you're probably pretty famous for being a freak one way or the other. You're like, I don't mean to be hard to wait. I just mean like any ten for one way or the other. There aren't get the Tulsbury River lives like eight eleven or whatever. So like, yeah, so it is pretty long. You live not that long. I think he died in his like four. I don't think it was a long one. It was a man and he lived in St. Louis. I want to say it is what's actually crazy. It happened a while ago. Like it's he's been the Tulsbury. It's still eight eleven guy, right, Tucker? Robert Wampala. Yeah, right. And it's a while ago, right? It was St. Louis, like the 30s or 40s. He died in 1940. See, yeah. How weird is that? Died in Manistee, Missouri. You would think it'd be a new thing. Missouri. I would say Louis. What a good pull by me. Yeah, that was. That was a. But he did live in St. Louis. Thank you. What a pull. Can I can I just say? Thank you. Thank you. How how old did he live? Yeah, I was like, I don't know. He died at twenty two. I knew I knew he was young. So that's what I mean. Yeah. So that's what I'm saying. I know we're not taking it. No, no, I know. Oh, if we did you did nine. I don't think you died immediately. Right. Yeah. Yeah. OK, my I feel like you could cuddle with people better. It's a good point. You know how much I love cuddling. Yeah, I mean, look, big cuddler. Imagine like your wife, like she could basically like hold you like. Like up here. True. Yeah. Swaddle me. Yeah, baby. Yeah, baby. You'd have to adjust to. Yeah. You say way from those. You want the thing out of your baby. But at nine nine, you're there's no small spoon there. That's true. Yeah. OK. I think you convince me. I think it's. Yeah, you're right. You get the big thing. You could your whole house. You'd have to get everything. All right. You convince me. OK. I think it's clear. I think it's clearly one foot nine. I think you're clearly. Yeah. I mean, I think if it's the health, if you aren't guaranteed help. But I think for I think you're right about that. But I think even for getting the whole thing, I think you're probably right. I think just practicality of life. I think it's nine. I 10 feet is too tall. Yes, it's too tall. It is too tall. Yeah, good take. You know what the perfect height is? Five nine, maybe five nine. Five nine. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, we're really five eight. Yeah. So I'm like five nine and a quarter, but I never say it five nine and a half. But I just say five nine. I hate when people do that. I'm five nine and three quarters. Well, five nine is just a tough height to say. Yeah, because everyone knows it means more probably like five eight. So I try and be real about it. I'm like, I'm five nine. I know. But I used to say five nine. Five eleven. And it was like, I'm not five eleven. I think the implication of five nine is like, I think the implication is that people lie about their height and you have to assume that they're not. But I'm actually one of the few people telling the exact truth. OK, so good for you being exactly. I feel pretty good about it. I'm five nine. So Zoe and I have been doing. I haven't talked about it in a while. Yeah, it's been a while since Zoe is Zoe and I have this thing now where we do and she calls it a hang sesh every day. And some days multiple like on weekends, we'll do three or four in a day. And it's like, well, hang for like an hour. Yeah. And I just want to give you and we've been doing this for about three weeks in that two and a half, three weeks, whatever. This is just a sampling of the different games that we have played. We are ready. OK, the tickle game boxing, the slap game, the boom game, the scary face creep game, grab the face game, dancing games, foot wars, berry game, judges games, funny, scary video, watching game. Don't laugh game, throwing and catching game, choosing choosing. Oh, sorry. I like to make the other person. Try not to laugh. Make the other person laugh game. James Block, Zoe, Zoe tries to get by James game, then turn it into the handstands game, the doll game, the robot question game. The Zoe is zero years old baby game. The search for clues on the doll with funny. You should have a funny bunny game. James is too. Zoe gives symbols or words for starting and stopping the tickle game. And tickle twice. So yeah, well, that was actually so that was that was a a denim to the game is that she will get this so funny. She'll and every time it's always more common to be like, all right, if I say stop three times, you stop tickling. But if I don't say stop three times and you keep tickling and now she's got symbols should be like if I give the peace sign, it means start tickling. If I give the square, it means and every time it's different. Every time it's super complicated. It's the funniest. I think you would be really good at the game where you have to get by somebody. Oh, so I think you would be amazing. I lead. So the way we play it is it's just she has to get by me. She has never gotten by me and I told her she never will. Like I'm like, so I'm bigger and stronger. You're not there are certain games I'll give her some leeway on. And there are certain things where I'm like, you have to learn that like they're bigger and bigger. I mean, like I think you could get by like I curcumin. I'm like, I think like you have the perfect personality like embody for it. You're right. I did. I felt it. And anyway, just so everyone knows my record is five characters. I have characters one. So yeah, playing five characters at once in a game. Wow. I played the mean British judge all at one time. But you know, one time I played the mean British judge. I played the funny, funny. And skit. No, yeah. Well, basically like so the judging game, for example, of one of the many games is like I will judge her doing things, whether it's dancing or we have this thing. The boom game is where I'll like big shooter and pretend to like in a movie. Again, like the office. Yes, yes. The gun out. And then I will have to judge her and give her like, but like we have a mean judge, we have a nice judge. Then we've got now a funny judge and like so I'm playing like multiple characters commenting on characters or commenting on her. Like we really get into it. Shout out to Zoe. It's very creative. Clearly. You really get it. I think that's just some of the games that we played in a few weeks. So it's a lot of games. It's nice you're writing them down. So that's like that'd be fun. We've actually now that I ran down, we've gone back to reference them. She'll be like, Oh, check the list. I will. It's a good. Yeah. I think having a funny judge would be a very annoying judge. Yeah. Like imagine you're on trial. Well, this dude just crack jokes. It's like, yeah. Yeah. Okay. My life's on the line. Yeah. It's a lot of like, why are you doing that? Like, yeah. She loves the mean British judge that she's like the Simon Cowell one is like right. Her favorite by far mean. She's like, bring out the mean. Well, she likes it because then she likes to be like, well, I'll prove you wrong. Yeah. You know, so yeah. It's anyway, I thought I'd give everyone a little. I'd be such a good lawyer. Hang sash every day is what we do every day. Hang sashes. So that's good. It's awesome. It's very good. My kid. It's very fun. Very good. But just we get into it. Yeah. Maybe I'll update when we have like 40 more games. Yeah, exactly. Maybe one down a pod. We'll just play. Yeah. But we could. Yeah, we could. They don't make an exciting draft pick. What's funny is one of the games is actually boxing. She likes to box with me, which Mr. Boxing box every friend. Yeah. She likes to box. I am the worst boxer. Yeah. Like just the worst. I believe it. It doesn't check. Any of my skills. Yeah. Well, it's just like quick memory, like doing in front of people where I'm embarrassed, like it's just the worst. Whenever I go one on with the trainer, I'm like, he's a very nice guy. You're always like, I'm just like, bro, we both know I'm not good. Like, like let's just get on and just go to the next person. Exactly. Like I'm not enjoying it. You're embarrassed by how bad I'm doing. Let's just go. I might go to. I don't want to actually box, but I would love to go watch you box. I bet you being a good boxer. Oh, I'm OK. I get you. Well, I just feel like you just. I get energy. Yeah. Hence why I would be good at the guy by person, which I will say that is always best skill is like, I'll like, so like throw her back and it just keeps coming. Like bulldogs, like boom, boom, boom. And I keep telling her and then she'll hesitate. I mean, don't hesitate. You could have gotten through that time. I hesitate to keep going. So anyway, all right, Saturday, we need all our people one to three. I think there's no Phillies. Maybe it's one to three thirty either way. Not a Philly's or nighttime. OK, good. Thank you. One to three. Check us out. Talking drafts and obviously next week leading up to draft tons of content coming until the East Island James. Go first. Go first.
