Like, but you can't If you know anybody's had this type of moments You can't really It's almost like an out of bite experience I'm 33, I just turned 33 But how old you in this happened? Oh, I'm sorry And since I think I was 17 at the time 17 or 18 Yeah And my cousin is four years younger than me for reference He was around the same age Jesus too Yes Oh, absolutely Yeah, if I just seen it then we probably won't be telling the story Right, right, right I thought probably be, you know Hopefully getting help But yeah, it was something that we both saw And we both saw in tandem And not, we didn't just see it, we experienced it together That sheer fear Me and my cousins we've grown up doing martial arts Were not fearful people That's not our natural response Is to be fearful But this was something primordial This is something that told me There is no chance So you ever escaping Whatever this is So the best thing to do is just to shut down Essentially just freeze up And that was probably the only moment in my life Where I had that type of fearful response Fearful response of just sure I'm freezing Like there's no hope of doing anything about this Like just stay still And you're tensed You say this platform is ten feet off the ground Yes, so And how long do you think this is back and forth this finger Oh my friend probably five to ten seconds It felt like a turnity of course, and that's cliche But yeah, it couldn't have been longer than five or ten seconds Because when it kind of passed and went through The song was still playing So it wasn't like it was an extended period of time And if I'm not mistaken, I think that's like halfway through the song So that you know, it wasn't a very large amount of time But we did not move for probably close to an hour or two We were just petrified And one thing I want to also propose to is that During this time, it was during the fall So I mean, we were, the ground was covered And littered and leaves And they're all crunchy So I mean, you would hear something Even though Stereo's on, you would hear something walking up You'd hear something leaving away Because we didn't have the stereo too loud The parents were on the side So we weren't trying to You know, we didn't want to smoke with them So we keep doing what we were doing But yeah, it was weird Very weird And like I want to also, that's why I kind of provided information about the height Because, man, I mean, I've believed me I've tried to rack my brain logical So maybe it was a raccoon No Too small And plus the raccoon would have to be climbing like this You know, try it He just didn't make sense A bear? No, I mean, a bear is large enough sure Maybe black bears probably be tall enough to do that possibly But, or he could climb up a little bit and try it But, from the direction, it was kind of in the middle of the tree house So almost the way from the ladder So it's not like it climbed up the ladder and was reaching over and doing it It was basically, I'm assuming Stany straight up And just doing that, that motion right there to get inside And that makes it even creepier It makes it even, you know, like, even more so Yeah, originally hearing your story kind of sounded like maybe he climbed up the tree So you're saying he's standing on the ground He's got to be standing on the ground, my friend Like, has to be So this is over 10 foot tall That's like, yeah, it's like, yeah, I mean, there's something like Exactly And like, dude, reaching up and touching the reds Yeah, I don't think he's got any business in favor of you It's only, it's his parents' own hearing So you don't hear anything on the ground and then all of a sudden No, but I smell I smell my friend Afterwards, we smell it, my friend The smell lingered, I don't know if it left a Invention on my psyche But it smelled stunk for at least a day or two afterwards To the point where we actually tried We tried doing our own little investigation the next night Got enough bravery up to be like, you know what, we can, let's go find this thing Looked around and see anything, of course But what time was it again? Which one, the one that's happened? Yeah, oh yeah, this was like midnight, one o'clock and midnight Okay So this area though, Blake, are you guys... Yeah, I'm sure you've looked into this too before, but like To this point, I mean you're 18 years old, your cousin's 14 To where that range But there have been any, have you heard of anybody seen anything in this fairview area? Was there any, I mean, could you look at, have you guys had any encounters out there? Were you like, something's walking around or was something linked up to my friend? So, um, about, I guess it was, it was Halloween when we did this that same year So, and this was, yeah, so I guess it's probably like a week or two before this incident happened with Bigfoot Me, my mother, she had signed me up with a paranormal team that was around here They were called lemur, I don't remember the exact what it stood for, but it was called lemur And they were just a very popular paranormal team here in Asheville They did investigations with the pink lady and just various things, Helen's bridge, you know, various stuff They had branched out into looking for cryptids too Bigfoot, looking into Bigfoot sightings which were going on in the fairview at the time But it was kind of funny, it was a weird coincidence and synchronicity that I'd actually done like an actual paranormal investigation with them a couple weeks prior And then after this event with the Bigfoot, I went online, was typing things in, I was like Bigfoot sightings, fairview North Carolina Sure enough, there had been quite a few sightings, so many that that team that actually did the investigation with lemur team went and did their own investigation Look for Bigfoot in that area, that fairview kind of like flutcher type area So yeah, there was a lot of sightings actually going on at that time from what it looks like Interesting, do you think that there was any connection to, because what did you guys, so what did you investigate when you were... Yeah, so this was a simple one, this was actually on the AB Tech campus, Asheville Bunkham Community Technical College which is a huge community college in this area and southeast But yeah, so on their campus they have a historical site called the McDowell Smith House And that's where they were holding these paranormal investigations, it was very low key, very... This was kind of when I was in the old ghost adventures in the top situation But it was basically that, they had these little, I can't remember the name of the devices, but things that would pick up on electoral magnetic waves or they'd have... Yes, or they'd have some type of, I think it was called ghost box or something where it would go through various different stations and channels And it would try to pick up phrases and things that were said And our event there, it actually kind of had to end preemptively because we had a run-in with one of the spirits that seemed very aggressive And the leaders of the team at the time had said, hey, we've kind of seen this before, let's back off We probably need to stop doing whatever we're doing and I don't know if that was for show or if there was anything to it But I just thought that was very funny, like the synchronicity of all that Yeah, it was interesting to ask them for you And as a believer in Christ now, absolutely, everything's connected and when you look at things in our own biblical text, the way things are cross-referenced and cross-stridged, like it is always a part of You know, it's always connected and it's up to us to find those connections that kind of see where those points actually intersect and meet And I think that's the way, in a sense, that God communicates to us through connections and through synchronicities and yeah So, can you explain the time part of it? He's sounding like you had, like he said, time slowed down or something like that Oh, yes, so during the event, yeah, for sure And that's just a common thing when it comes to, I think that's just something with our nervous system You know, I've been in many situations in my life where Adrenaline has had to kick in Whether through training, whether we run a raft and trip at one time, almost drown I mean, just countless events and situations where Adrenaline kicks in And adrenaline has a way to kind of mess with your perception of time And that's something that instantly got kicked in with the situation with me Like, I've ran into a lot of terrifying things, my hardest stop before I've died from, you know, because I'm allergic to bees Just countless things, but nothing ever really put the fear of God in me like this event did And I think that's what contributed to that perception of everything slowing down around me Just because you're so hyper focused and your rank industry, your nervous system, trying to acclimate to what is happening Because logically it's not making any sense So you don't think you were praying? You just think it was anxiety and more like, for sure, I'm glad I had that response So if I didn't have that response, then probably something was not So I subbed this night Well, I mean, you're old enough to kind of like I think I have the back and forth going on in your mind as opposed to just being a freaked out kid And then, yes, exactly, having to tell yourself I think when the younger you are, the longer it takes to put together peace And it's less nuance to fear And when you're older, like you said, that's a great point, when you're older, there's more nuance to it Because now you're going through the logical processing of this is not matching anything that I know, anything that there's no schemas of this is matching And that adds like a different level of fear too on top of it that, yes, unique That's hard, unique So, I mean, you're sitting there listening to the music, fingers going back and forth, what do you think he's doing? What do you think? Playing games is what I'm doing, I mean, also that's the whole vibe I got out of it Was just nothing malicious, I mean, at the time, of course I was terrified You know, I think that's just how your response is going to be, but looking back at it This dude was just playing with us, I think I think he really was just, I mean, I don't want persona to find him It really seemed like he was just playing around, just walking around Seeing what's good, maybe looking for some food, trying to mess with two kids, being in a tree I don't know, but looking back in retrospect, if it doesn't seem malicious, what are you?
