I feel like you will change us. You can do anything! We all have a God given dust and eat. Never let negative thoughts or people tell you you can't be great. Can you feel fully and wonderfully made? There's greatness inside all of us. But greatness doesn't happen. It takes boldness, courage and readers. Welcome to the entrepreneurial kids' legacy show where we think big, but broadly and make amazing things happen. I'm Destiny. I'm Daniel. We challenge you to step into your future, take action and create a legacy that lasts. Let's go! Daniel, what would you do if you had an idea so big it fell as though it belonged in a galaxy. A galaxy? That sounds enormous. Not exactly an outer space for a rocket's travel, but an imagination and creativity and the hopes of families all around the world. An idea that powerful must require courage and persistence. And probably a lot of people saying that'll never work. Exactly. Good day, Legacy leaders. Welcome back to the entrepreneurial kids' legacy show. It's your creativity, loving, possibility-building friend, Destiny here. And today, we're talking about someone whose imagination became so powerful. It changed storytelling forever. That's right. And I'm your bold buddy Daniel, your business bestie and your creativity co-pilot. Today's episode is about a dreamer, a builder and a storyteller who refused to give up. He didn't give up on an idea people doubted again and again. And because he continued building, families all around the world still enjoy the story today. Before we begin, we want you to remember something important. Your ideas matter. Sometimes the smallest idea can run into something that impacts generations. And every time you listen to this sound, you are building your own legacy too. Now, have you ever shared an idea and someone looked confused? Or perhaps they laughed or didn't understand what you were trying to create? That can be a discard thing. It sure can, but many extraordinary ideas look unusual in the beginning. Is that a hint? Is it story time, Daniel? Absolutely, little sister. Start up the time machine, Destiny. We're about to rewind the clock. Hold on tight, legacy, little three, two, one. We're going back. We're home. Yeah, ha! A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. Daniel, okay, okay, okay. Not that long ago. Okay, fair point, little sister. On May 14th, 1944, a baby boy named George Lucas was born in Modestito, California. At first, he did not dream about movies at all. He dreamed about racing cars. But when he was a teenager, he was involved in a very serious accident. One that could have ended his life. That moment changed everything. Instead of only thinking about speed, he began thinking deeply about purpose. Oh, reflexion. That's an important word. Reflexion means taking time to think deeply about your future, your purpose, your God-given destiny, and what truly matters. That's right. George became fascinated about storytelling and filmmaking. So he went to study film at the University of Southern California. And here's something important, friends. He was not instantly successful. He faced rejection. People doubted his ideas. When he started creating the story, we now know what Star Wars... Star Wars! That's right. Many people thought it was too strange. Too unusual. Too complicated. Some people believed it would fail completely. That's wild. But he had a very special quality. Daniel, teach them that powerful word. We just talked about it before the episode. Oh yeah. Tenacity. He sure had tenacity. Tenacity means continuing forward. Even when something feels difficult. Even when people doubt you. Even when success takes a long time. And here's something fascinating. When the team was creating sounds for the movie, they did not always use complicated machines. Sometimes they used ordinary everyday sounds and transformed them through creativity. One famous sound in particular began with the humming sound of an old movie projector. And then something unexpected happened. A microphone passed near the television set and picked up a strange buzzing sound from the TV signal. When those sounds were combined together, they helped create the famous sound of the lightsaber. Which proved something important. Creative people alone had a notice possibilities where other people see ordinary things. Yippee dee da-pee-dee. George Lucas continued building. He kept improving the story. He kept believing in the vision. And finally on May 25th, 1977, something incredible happened. Da-da-da-da. Star Wars was released. Woo-hoo! And families fell in love with it. Parents, children, grandparents. Families watched it all together. And now many parents too watched it when they were children. Shout out with their own kids today. Our dad and mama's big brother David both grew up loving Star Wars. And now our dad keeps trying to convince us to watch all the movies too. That's legacy. And here's one of the most fascinating parts about the story. George Lucas made a business decision that many people did not understand at the time. Instead of focusing only on immediate success, he believed the story could continue to grow for generations. And he did something special. Very special. A good business move. Wait, no. A great business move. He worked to keep the rights connected to the toys, books, games, and merchandise. And that won thoughtful decision. Eventually helped create billions of dollars of value around the world. Oh, he had a vision. Yes, that brings us to another powerful word. Vision. Vision means being able to recognize possibility before everyone else can see it clearly. Years later, the world began to understand just how valuable his imagination and persistence truly were. In 2012, he sold his company, Lucas Films, for over four billion dollars. But the most important lesson is not only about money. It's about believing in what you are building. Yeah! Thinking long term and creating something meaningful enough to impact generations of families. George Lucas did not only build successful movies, he built a world. A world families still enjoy together today. A legacy. Yes, a legacy is something you build that continues impacting people far into the future. Something meaningful that lives on and brings people together. Imagine if George Lucas had given up. Just because people doubted his idea. Families across generations may never had shared this story together. That's why courage matters. And persistence! Then your dad was a great story, wasn't it friends? It sure was. Now it's your turn to build something. Think of one idea you have. A story, a business, a drawing, an invention? Then ask yourself, could this help someone? Could this bring joy? Could this become a part of my legacy? Oh, the Bible says, when the Lord answered me and said, write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time. But at the end it will speak and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it because it will surely come. It will not tarry. Habakkuk chapter 2 verses 2 through 3. That means when God places a vision or dream inside your heart, you should write it down, believe in it, and continue building it faithfully, even if it takes time. Because sometimes the greatest ideas are not built overnight. They grow little by little, step by step, with faith, patience, and persistence. Oh, do you know what time it is friends? It's time for the legacy lightning fun facts found. Da-na-na-na, da-na-na-na-na-na. Da-na-na-na. Today's question is connected to one of the biggest lessons in George Lucas's story. Here's your question. When people doubted George Lucas's idea, what did he choose to do? A, give up on the story. B, continue building and improving it. Or could it be C, hide the idea forever. Shh, don't tell anyone. Okay friends, run down to the show notes to see if you got the answer right. And while you're there, leave your favorite part of the show in the review section. And don't forget to leave your parents' Instagram handle so we can find the next legacy leader of the month. Friends, even when people doubted George, he kept learning, creating and believing in the vision. And because he continued forward, families all around the world still enjoy this story today, which reminds us of something important. Sometimes the people around you cannot yet see what God placed inside you. That's why codes, vision and persistence matter. Yepity deppity doop daa! That's right, Destiny. And now friends, it's time for the tactical challenge of the week. Challenge accepted. Now it's time for your week for the stars challenge.
