To drink, some asked for wine and others for beer. After finishing up with six pieces of cake, a bunch of croquettes and another one of Russian salad, we started talking about food. Italian and Spanish food. They were wonderful in the flavor and texture of the cake, so they asked me for the recipe. One of the women said that the most important thing was always the cook, and I was told I had to visit Italy to cook the cake one day. What was my surprise when I discovered they were from Nardo? A small town in the Italian countryside where I spent over 25 years. Gianni and Antonela, a lovely couple, told me about the hotel of their nephew, so today, as soon as I got home, I told my husband that in August we should revive our honeymoon.
