Two Judgey Girls hosts Mary and Courtney discuss the Summer House Season 10 premiere, analyzing the deteriorating relationship between Amanda and Kyle, introducing four new cast members, and previewing upcoming Bravo shows including The Golden Life spinoff and The Valley season 2.
Insights
- Amanda has reached an emotional breaking point in her marriage, manifesting as complete numbness rather than active conflict—a sign of deeper relationship dissolution beyond typical reality TV drama
- Strategic pre-season announcement of Amanda and Kyle's separation may have been a calculated move to manage narrative control and protect other cast members from collateral relationship drama
- New cast integration strategy of introducing four newbies in episode one (with two more to come) successfully dilutes focus from established couple conflict while maintaining ensemble energy
- Production quality concerns around The Golden Life spinoff suggest potential cost-cutting measures that could impact viewer perception of Bravo's premium positioning
- Kyle's DJ career pivot appears financially motivated by Loverboy's declining performance, creating secondary stress on marriage beyond the primary relationship issues

Welcome back to Two Judgy Girls. This is Mary from the Bay. And it's Courtney from LA and that excitement feels palpable over there for Summer House Premier Day. Wow, what a journey we are going to go on. It felt like as you've mentioned and we've mentioned years past, a warm hug. Amanda so aptly said it in the episode. We are so back. It felt great. But before we get there, we have to talk about the announcement from today about the working title, The Golden Life. Okay, I have no problem with the title, The Golden Life. I love that it's going to be in Palm Beach, that they couldn't get these five women together to do a lunch, a promotion. The way that this like TikTok is cut. I mean, you're on a major network. It was so low-budget. I mean, there was no budge. There was no budge. I mean, it's all of them alone. Jill looks crazy. Hallie looks crazy. To be honest, they all look a little level of crazy. You are so right though. I watched this and I said, this is any indication of what the production value is going to be for the show. I'm worried for them. It almost was like they saw the success of the Netflix MAGA Women's show. I can't for the life of me think of the name right now, Members Only. And they said, oh, we can do better because we have five of the same women and they have similar beliefs as well and they have name recognition. So don't worry about us. We'll do this. It's almost like these women are paying E to have a show. I mean, Jill Zarin has been clawing to get back on television and she wasn't going to go back to Bravo. And it felt like she was trying to get on Members Only after it came out for a second season. I'm so excited. I just like love Lou. I feel like these women know what they're doing. We haven't seen Ramona in years now. For a good reason, to be fair. I want a little catch up with her. I'm really hoping it's a short filming period. You know, like close to ten episodes, I believe. Okay. And filming this spring. You want it because we've missed our girls, right? You watch these seasons, seasons pass and you're like, oh my God, these women are so crazy and nobody did it like the original Rony girls. But I'm worried. I will be honest. I am worried. It feels like they're going to try to be doing a lot. And I don't know if that's going to happen. I don't need Kelly Bensome back on my screen. Like we saw her for legacy. She is cuckoo bananas. I think she throws off the vibe of everything. I did love legacy though. I guess I'm going to go cautiously optimistic. It's funny because the last E-show I watched was probably the Kardashians. And there was such a formula at the end, which is like, there was literally a beginning, a middle and an end. There was like always a problem. And by the end of the episode, they resolved it. So I have a very sitcom-esque if you will. Yes. So I hope it's not like that. I just hope it's their natural habitat. The girls having fun. People were funny though. Is the cast trip to Mar-a-Lago? For me, I'm also worried it's a production company that's never produced. Housewives, I think we said yesterday on the pod, if it was one of those, then okay, they know the formula. It sounds like it's going to be tough. I'll be curious to see how it goes. Like I feel like I have to dip my toe in regardless because these women raised us in a way. So I need to follow up, but I do worry. I mean, I know I'll watch all 10 episodes and I'll probably hope that it was only 30 minutes, but I'll watch 60 and we can only hope for the best. I also kind of hope that they just release them all at the same time. I don't need a weekly for these women. We didn't think the Valley was going to be good and we love it. And last night, we got a promotion for it. It really didn't give much. It was coming soon. It was maybe 20 seconds. It's like Michelle being like, there's only so much I can take before I snap. Because Jack's isn't on this season, now we're going to focus on this divorce-o couple, Jeffy and Michelle. You know, that's what I think that we're looking at here. I'm excited for the Valley. Zach, he gave us a preview when we saw him at BravoCon. He's way more involved. He said it's actually our best season yet. So I'm looking forward to that. I'm going to guess it's coming, when do you think? April? Spring. Yeah. Spring, summer, September? Mm-hmm. To spring. Yeah. We know you have eyes for Jesse Lolley. So I don't anymore. Oh. Don. Got it. Don. You've moved. That's okay. Okay, but let's get into Summer House. I wanted to talk to you. What do you feel overall about it, the episode? Are you looking forward to anything feel put upon, or did it feel very natural? I think they were all back in their natural habitat. Amanda, choosing not to ride with Kyle, really set the tone for the entire season, I'd say. She is so sick of his shit. I think these are the issues that have been plaguing their relationship year round. And then when the cameras have come back, Kyle's trying to play this good guy and be like, okay, well, now that we're filming the show, we can repair our relationship. And Amanda's like, just because we're filming the show, doesn't mean the relationship is changing. Like, you're making me have a way when the cameras are off, and I have to deal with DJ Kyle Cook, who's home for 1.5 weekends in the span of January to June. And now all of a sudden, I'm supposed to be happy that we're filming this show and you're going to be quote-unquote back. It's truly wild. I feel like he always had the control of the relationship and the upper hand for a very long time. And I feel like she's feeling better than ever. She got her confidence back and has really been living a life without him. Like you said, the 1.5 weekends. And she's like, I can't do this anymore. You kind of showed me what my life is like without you. And I'm OK with that. The final step right now is kind of convincing herself to actually leave. Page breaking up with Craig was a big indicator for her. You kind of sometimes you need somebody else to show you that life on the other side is OK. We've always talked about, right? Their relationship is so entangled in business, show, love, etc. That the waters are muddied. And so now that she's seen, OK, well, look what Page was able to do. She's able to be her own person. It didn't affect her as much. I'd also love to know too is when the In the City contracts went out, if it was before the season. So she knew that she had a show regardless. You know, her identity is so tied up in Summer House's Kyle's show, but In the City could also be her show. She has the support from all the women. Page not being there this summer, I think, is actually going to be a really good thing for the women of the cast. Not that she wasn't great before, but Page kind of led the charge there. And now they have to figure out what life is like without Page in the house. And what their identity is without quote unquote following, if that makes sense. I was shocked the amount they spoke about Page because I usually feel like when someone leaves, they're not like not allowed to talk about them. But I loved that they were, you know, taking bedbug applications. And they just spoke her name a lot, which was refreshing. I like that point that you make that she's doing just fine without Craig. It will be super interesting to see because I don't even think there's any like team Kyle or team Amanda. It's like clearly there's only one team. Like it's not even a team situation here. It's just one of the best for both of them, but also mostly Amanda. There's no team. There's only one side to be on, you know what I mean? Right, right, right, right. Like you're 100% in or not. No, yeah. Because it does feel like Kyle can easily come back to the summer house. That's what I'm thinking too. That could be the split is he could come back to it. Should he? No, he's the old guy at the party at this point. But in the city could also, they seem to have such a good relationship now, which I think will be good until maybe one of them starts dating somebody else. Because I think that's always where things get a little crazy. But they could both handle the show and show what their life is like. And you followed Kyle on his DJ career. You follow Amanda. She navigates what life is like in the city or if she goes to New Jersey or whatever it is, the next phase in her life. I see her staying in the city and Kyle going back to the summer house, which is just kind of silly. I mean, he does do a 35 second kickstand. So he is where he belongs. And as Wes said, he has a motor that keeps him going. He will party the hardest and the longest in the house regardless of age, which you know, is also somewhat impressive because I have a glass of wine now and I'm taken out for two to three days. One glass of wine just makes you sleepy. The hangover for me is real. For Kyle, he just keeps powering through. He is known to wake up and go around and sweat it out. Insane. And his skin looks fabulous. For all the partying he does, he has fabulous skin. He's doing something right. Everything he was saying in the episode, I was like, is he doing this for the show? I think them announcing their separation, we said this before the show was smart because like you said, from minute one of her going in the car with Sierra, you were like, oh great, this is another summer of Kyle and Amanda fighting. And I think having them announce the separation before was actually going to be positive because Amanda also talks about the internet later where she says, you know, you hear from everyone like leave him, leave him or whatever the situation is. And now she's not going to have that this season. And I think it's going to be better for her mental health. I think it's going to be like, hey, Amanda, you made the right move, whatever it is that I think it was just smart for them because if you had to watch this entire episode and think they were still together, it'd be like, you've got to be shitting me. I can only predict that the city is completely about her moving out, them separating, going their separate ways. And I actually think they were smart at BravoCon to keep that under wraps. I feel like at BravoCon they were broken up. It makes it more exciting to watch the show. Like imagine if we still didn't know that they were broken up and we were just going to get that in the city. You know what I mean? Like I also think too is that they did announce it and they came into BravoCon. Obviously there was a ton of chatter. That was probably maybe the main story, but knowing that they were separated, I think would have really taken away from the entire cast in general, but also the fun of the weekend for everybody else. Like, okay, he gets to go do a DJ thing. We don't need to think about like, oh God, poor Kyle's still doing that DJ career at Penn State on a Thursday. I think they've been strategic about it, which they have to be weirdly, especially on their show. Paige and Craig is a little different because they're on two separate shows. So to announce that isn't necessarily going to rock the house in a way, whereas this changes the whole trajectory of how we view this season. You know they show a preview and it's Sierra, Lindsey and Amanda in Lindsey's apartment, I think. It almost feels like they were broken up then. Like you think she announced it and then she's like, this is why? Yeah, they like picked up the cameras. It kind of felt like that. It kind of felt like how they picked up the page cameras for that. So we will see. I thought you're totally right. I thought that very much was like the end of the season. Maybe that's the transition into the new show. I'm just excited for the spin-off too because even though Lindsey wasn't here this weekend and we only got like a quick glimpse of her, I both like missed her and didn't. Like the way that the house all came together, we got four newbies this weekend and we still have two to come. And it felt like a full house. It felt really fun and exciting and like Lindsey was missed in a way, but I actually just think that where she is in her life is in the city is so exciting to see that part of her journey over there because she does like live a completely different life now. She has a child now. Last summer, she was pregnant. And so her being on this different life path, being in the city is going to be just so much more conducive towards that as opposed to her being able to come out for like a day or two because she doesn't necessarily want to be away from Gemma. We know she's with Erin from New York in the Hamptons because it's fourth of July weekend. Tell me that, which she's with Erin at her Hampton's house? Yeah. Oh, I did not know that. Okay. So she was down the street. Okay. Wow. Okay. Well, so should we take a break and just get started with the episode when we return? Yes. Around about now, this is usually the bit in the radio ad where you drift off. You half listen, your brain wanders home. Not to the house itself, but to what it could be. That thing you've been meaning to sort. The room you always shut the door on. The brown lampshade that came with the house seven years ago. It was called Red, White and Nude. Drop Ma. Yeah. Sierra goes to pick up the girlies and that giant GMC and Kyle is freaking out. He's like, don't forget me this summer, Amanda. Like you can tell he's so anxious for her to get in the car and he's talk shit dry. Yes. And he's trying to convince himself. He's like, no, no, no, this is healthy. It's healthy and not drive together. And girls, it's like hands on nine and three. He's distraught though. They definitely gotten a fight the night before about how they were going to go over this summer. And I feel like Amanda said, like, do not try to make everything feel like everything is like peachy keen. Like this is who you are. This is who I am. And I think you're right. She's found her voice and she's not going to be afraid to use it this summer. I love this all white outfit on her too. She looks fantastic. I feel like he knows exactly what's going to happen. And I think he also is like, do I want that to happen? Meaning like the breakup. Like I feel he's conflicted and he also he likes control. And you made a good point about him having the power and the relationship. And all of a sudden he seemingly doesn't. Amanda says, I used to call him a hundred times and figure out where he was. Like she was kind of like this adoding wife. Now I'm just numb, which is not good. Right. But she's given up in a way of being like, Kyle is who Kyle is. And I'm not going to change him anymore. So at this point I can't do anything. He loves Sierra. And I think he actually really considers Sierra a friend. But he knows that Sierra is not going to take this shit when she tells, when Amanda tells Sierra what's going on. So that worries him. It's hard to feel even an ounce of empathy for him because he literally made his bed. How can you expect if you're never home? And your wife isn't supporting your DJ career to have this amazing summer and get back to where you were. Like she has seen the life without you. You, you showed her that. You showed her the good life. You have Carl co-signing Amanda, right? He has, I know I'm skipping ahead a little bit, but he has this conversation with Sierra where he's like, I'm worried about Kyle. What the hell is he doing at a college campus on a Thursday night pressing play? You know, I see this relationship dwindling and I'm worried about him. And when you have Carl saying that too, as you said, there's no teams, but it's saying, you know, Amanda's not in the wrong for the way that she's reacting and feeling towards all of this. Right. By the way, Carl looks fantastic. Jesse looks fantastic. I've never had eyes for Jesse. This season, something changed for me. Uh-oh. Mary has been, she has decided to like younger men. Well, Carl's my age, but Jesse, yes. Young. Sorry, I meant from your usual of loving older men. True. Carl, even being your age is still young for you. You know what? I've always liked like 40 year old men in that range. So now I've just caught up to them. You keep getting older. They stay the same age. Like when I'm 60, I'm still going to be in 40. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Okay. All right. LaConne. Carl, like this cowboy hat, I love that he's like, I'm like pumped for this summer. He's like, I want to be. This outfit was a miss for me, Mary. This was the, I thought you meant maybe his interview look with his, his sweater vest. He was wearing the cowboy hat was what really got you to say yee-ha, baby. No, I, I, it was his energy. He's like, I want to be in the mix. I think I'm going to take that downstairs bedroom. Like he was like giddy up. I want to have a good time this summer. This is a fun hat. It was actually a lover boy hat. I did notice that he has a, he, I think it's also, he has such a confidence about him right now too. Is he has this purpose. He's, I don't think soft bar is technically open at this point, but he's got the marathon coming up. He feels just so much more in his skin this summer and like where he is in life that he has a great energy. Totally. And that's what makes it sexy for you. Yes. It's very attractive. And the lover boy branded cowboy hat. It just was like giddy up. Let's get, let's get into summer. Let's go to the house. They have a horse ride at Carle Boy. And then I did make me giggle too when Jesse pulled up. It said under it, musician. Musician. Yeah. I was cackling. But if you- They don't give it up on their quote, unquote, regular jobs anymore. They, you know, let's just, what do you want to be called this summer? They flash back to Lexi and I was like, oh my God, I forgot that that was last summer. It feels like you- Beyond. Yes. Yes. However, it'd be so much more interesting if she was there this summer because of all the Beckham drama. Yes. But I think for our sake, I think that they picked some great newbies and I don't think that Lexi would have played the game. I think this is, we've got the perfect amount. And I think we've said this before too. It's really hard to come in as a newbie on your own. Bringing in six newbies to be summer house the new class was a really smart move, though I will say I do not think Ben will be back next summer. Why? What is, do you know anything about me? I looked it up the bachelor because I knew we were going to talk about this and I said, let me search Wikipedia. Good job doing the homework. Tell me everything. Okay. So he was on season 11 of the bachelor Australia, which was the final season of the bachelor there. There were three bachelors. Okay. 25 different women. Ben and another bachelor made it to the end. One dropped out, it seems like right before the finale. He was, this was in 2023. So he would be 34. I think he said he's 36. He ended up with a 25 year old. Clearly they're not together anymore. I was trying to figure out, because I was like, was he a contestant? I didn't realize he was like the actual bachelor. And neither did Sierra. I'm like, Amanda, how much news did you give them about the new people entering the house? It's interesting they have three. I kind of like that concept. I know we have a lot of Australian people that listen or would love any tidbits that you guys can give us about this and then we could talk about it next episode too. I don't love for Ben and I know I'm skipping ahead, but maybe we could just go over the newbies. I don't love for Ben that they're pushing this Amanda and Ben storyline. The reason why I don't think he's will be back is because he now has a very serious girlfriend. If you go look at his Instagram, I mean, he's writing Instagram love captions about this woman, which is good for him. But knowing that he won has a girlfriend already. And two, feeling like this is going to be something that pushes Kyle and Amanda away when they have so many more issues. Right, right. However, I felt kind of a chemistry there. Like it was a- Amanda has chemistry with everyone but her husband. It was kind of fun to watch. It was flirtatious. The way that he picked her up out of that kiss or not with the kissy booth, the carnival game. Exactly. I was like, oh, okay. And I must say he is very easy on the eyes as well. I was falling for those blues like Bailey was. Wow. This is going to be a hard season for Mary to keep it under control. It's usually me objectifying them that Mary is on board. Also, KJ, another looker. I love KJ. His heart. He is such a sweetheart. I can tell his anxiety is going to get the best of him. I love how Wes also was like, do you like to talk about it? Wes is so emotionally intelligent. KJ, he's a model. He's a pro skateboarder. He invented a trick, guys, at the age of 19 and it went viral. But he feels like he's been living quite the life. In Europe summers, this is his first time in the Hamptons. His dad played on the Pirates. I feel like he has a ton of story to tell. He said he's like Drake, a lover boy, but not that way of Drake. Them cracking up in the car really made me laugh. And he seems like he's such an open book. Talking about the anxiety, I believe he and Dara, who are the newbie and we see in the preview that they go on a date, I believe they're still together. That's very exciting. Don't quote me on that. I do know that they dated, but he just seems like so fun. And I think, and kind of the newbies in general have all done this, but he's made an effort to be like, okay, Wes is obviously my connection, but I'm going to go make an effort to go hang with the girls. You know, my mom raised me. I have sisters. She was a nurse. Sierra's a nurse. They have that connection. Oh, wait, Sierra, when he goes up to Sierra and he's talking about his mom, he's like, my mom was a nurse. And she's like, my mom was too. And then she's like, and I am too. She forgot she was a nurse or she does not identify as a nurse anymore. That was like a funny moment to me. Yeah. No, I loved it. You just let go. I just thought he brings a really fun energy. And we want to talk about Bailey and Levi. They get, Sierra takes them in. Bailey, Levi was kind of towards the background of this episode so far, but I loved her energy she brought. I loved the corn head that she had for the costume. And I mean, they're all throwing it out there. Like Bailey, she's like, I got to have a good summer. You know, I'm going to be crazy. I'm going to be fun because the way that she talked about her breakup at that dinner table was something. I mean, the girl is crying the first night telling her sob story. She's like, well, my boyfriend, we were living together. He cheated on me. I went to sweet greens. I got him a salmon salad and then he broke up. As Kyle says, one of the most expensive menu item. I knew he loved salmon and he broke up with me. I dropped the salad. He had his suitcase. He moved to LA that day. It was the worst time in my life. I was like, this is psychotic. I loved it though because everyone's sitting there and then she's like, so yeah, thanks guys for asking. Like she made it funny. Like she didn't expect to do that. Whereas I think her breaking the ice being like, yeah, so I'm really excited for this summer. Thanks for asking. Pages like, don't apologize. Don't apologize. You're just telling your real. Carl's like, every person at this table has cried at least once in the summer house. Levi we learned was in two years ago broke up from a 12 year relationship. As Bailey tells us, she has no dating experience. I love that they are also friends and they became friends via Instagram because they had a ton of mutual friends. So they have each other to lean on in a good way. They're sharing a room. They've got a mess bed and they've got a sleep bed and it gave me flashbacks to Sierra season five when she joined the cast and that bed was disgusting. Oh, I mean she tries to put her shoes on Jesse's bed. I mean, she's a little feral. Her putting on her lotion on the bed that looked like whipped cream. It looks insane. It looked insane. And it felt like it was going to get everywhere. It just felt like a very messy situation. I loved that bathing suit that she was wearing too because Sierra's so freaking hot. When she got on that carousel ride. Wow. That was like, I'm an idiot. I'm an idiot. I'm an idiot. I don't want them to have anything and I know in real time they're not together. So I don't even want to see it because I know he's going to break her heart again. Yeah. I don't want to see them get into that sort of relationship. I do really want them to have a strong friendship and it seems like they're in a good place. Like at BravoCon they were having fun together. It seems like in the press they're sitting together and like you said, we know that they're not together in real time. I think it sounds like they come to a good place and obviously there's feelings there. We can't do this again because Wes, you're a fuck boy in the best possible sense there. I'm looking for something different. It's not Jesse. When I see Wes, the only person I see is Robin Williams. Like I cannot get that out of my brain. I just see Robin Williams. That's it. Yeah. It's really insane and we get to see him. Oh yeah. I mean, you could tell people we haven't even said that we're going. Sunday we are going. Peacock is doing the reality hot seat on a boat in the same way. Sailgate. Yes. So that is happening on Sunday. So look for us in the background. It's the pregame before the game. Before the Super Bowl. Mary just told me though it's supposed to rain on Sunday. I keep checking the weather because I'm very concerned. I'm also like, are we going to be on a ferry? Is this going to be like a below deck yacht? I know. I don't think a yacht. I'm so curious what the ship is going to be. I have a vision that it's going to just be a ferry. I don't know. But then if it's raining, I don't think we would go out. Well, the ferry must have coverage though, right? Because there's different levels. So I think that a ferry could be the right thing because they're going to want a boat with coverage. Because if you're going out on a boat, it's going to be very hard sound wise if you're like going through the bay with the wind and potential rain. The weather has been stunning. Like yesterday it was 70 here, gorgeous. Oh, now it's seen. It's not going to rain. Wait, mine says it is on Apple. This is 40% right now. Let's just like pray, just do whatever it is we need to do. And then let's take a break and come back with the rest of the episode. Who has the power to settle unresolved disputes between consumers and financial providers? The Financial Ombudsman Service. a midlife crisis at 45 he about 18 motorcycles and it just like so funny for these people complete strangers to you are talking about how your husband of four years is having a midlife crisis and that's why he became a DJ I don't think that's a secret I don't think that's a secret I thought it was funny though when Bailey said you know oh my dad did that too and they said started a DJ career oh no no no just bought the 18 motorcycles Bailey is going to be a hit like I can tell she is going to be like the breakout star it's very interesting watching that car and then I started thinking though what would have been the other car situation like it made sense for the four girls to go out there what would it have been Jesse in that car instead and have Amanda Kyle and Carl go out together well if Jesse was really working on his application he would have gotten in that car with just Amanda and Sierra for the bed bug spot he would have loved that you know they arrive at the house I love too that the house is already started to get ready for the carnival party they're like what the hell is outside here West did a fantastic job with this party I feel like the theme was so fun the cows having milking them to make a white Russian like absolutely insane you have the first five minutes of that after the sun is glaring down on a white Russian and I'm on the ground having another spit into my mouth the idea of it great the execution worrisome right but I would have done it I would know you would have I know you would have because you would have tried to impressing those boys I wouldn't have done the keg stand though I wouldn't want anyone to lift me I was gonna say we don't want to be lifted because we're even though we're light as a feather we don't want that yeah Sierra is gunning for Kyle right away you know they leave the door open on the car so the guys this is a summer house tradition the men always take the suitcases up it's just kind of a thing through the working door they fixed the door the door is the main character on the show all of them also being like oh yeah so like the door sticks and I'm walking right through it like no but they fixed it last season yeah I guess we just gotta give it a few weeks yeah well I can only hope that it will be unhinged again fingers crossed unhinged like the house in general right right the door is a metaphor for where they are in the house right now everything's cool you walk straight through as the summer goes on and the crazy starts to happen that door gets more stuck and more stuck and more unhinged but so Kyle's like um guys it's gonna downpour everyone needs to get their luggage immediately and Sierra's like suck you Kyle like go get the luggage like you always do this is a man's job and he's like what your muscles don't work first up Kyle also never gets anybody's luggage it's always it's always the other guys because Kyle's got to set up his DJ stuff I honestly when they like walked in and there's like those velvet ropes I'm like Kyle came last week and put those in because it's like where his booth is gonna go and he's like oh my god this is here this is perfect for my DJ booth he already planned that out so true like they did you know a couple of updates in and they did the VIP lounge and he's like that's mine at the dinner table too and Amanda and we'll get to the digs there but when she said Kyle you've got two newbies to play music for now instead of nobody but Sierra was like when she's talking about Kyle she's like Kyle is my friend but I know too much about the relationship from what Amanda tells me and so it's like I but I can't say anything because I'm just have to support them but like she's always bitching about them and it's really hard for me yeah like be nice to him because I just want to kill him already who hasn't been on the other side of that where you know way too much about your friend's relationship and you're like want to kill the guy poor Sierra too is like I was kind of dealing with this stuff with Paige last summer and her trying to figure out her end of relationship and she's like and now I've got to do that is Sierra the breakup whisperer maybe Sierra has a good energy she's like you know praying to move forward with Wes she feels like more open to starting a friendship with him I feel like she came in with an excellent energy this summer well because and we said too is Sierra's on this cusp she's not an OG but she's not a newbie she's had a couple more seasons than Jesse and Wes but she's not in the city with this new set so she lies on am I going to be with them when this when this spinoff happens or am I going back to the summer house next season if so I have to lean into the summer house right she tells she tells them to like I'm going to try to go out more this season or the summer she's got to play the game too because if this is her future is coming back next summer without Amanda without Kyle without Carl without Lindsay these are her new people and I personally would love to see the city transition into a female cast like only female maybe this is how they get Paige back but it centers around Amanda Lindsay Paige and um Sierra like and just those four based on not seeing the first season I'm sure the first season will be good but you make a good point too if Kyle goes back to the summer house you really could make a show about these women and their lives in this I feel like Sierra and Amanda made a concerted effort this summer to go out more however the first night you don't go out come on guys come on you can't do that you're setting you said Amanda set the tone with that car right she's also setting the tone for the summer now we have heard that they go out a lot more but it they needed to go out even if it was just for an hour or two totally I also the room situation we've got Carl downstairs Jesse and Wes are not sharing a room the girls are sharing a room KJ will share a room it sounds seems like with Ben Lindsay's not getting her room I think they're going to be switching it up every weekend that was kind of crazy Lindsay not getting a room at all I knew she was going to pop in and out but I think we're going to see her a lot less than I envisioned well I'm I'd also be curious if she kind of does like what Bethany you did in the Berkshires right she shows up for the event maybe she goes and sleeps elsewhere yeah Erin's house yeah so but that's what it is now and we're ushering in the new era I didn't realize there were six people I think it was smart to only introduce four the first episode but let's talk about this dinner because the tensions were high Carl by the way is the dinner guy he's always getting the order he's placing the order he's making sure it arrives he's making sure everybody's got the type of pizza they want and he's sitting at the head of the table like the papa of the group I know well I also feel like he paid for it I imagine that the OGs are financially in a good spot but you know like Bailey and Levi I bet they're so stressed about money in this house but you don't think that some of this gets covered I feel like they get some sort of like per diem for these group dinners maybe if you want to like eat on your own but I have to assume that a lot of these things that are being filmed sure they're paying for some stuff but production has to be paying for some that's a good point I'd be curious because I've heard things like they've they stock the house themselves maybe maybe not this dinner but maybe they cover the parties and like the party days or whatever I love watching someone in their 20s struggle so they're they're sitting down you know Amanda and Sierra are next to each other Sierra's spills a little salad jessie on her she's like oh fuck me and jessie's like okay I'm like no jessie it's night one it's night one chill out then they're like all kind of cheersing to being single and it's it's Amanda and Kyle are the only married couple and Amanda is like well Kyle lost his wedding band so I'm not wearing mine either I'm like this which is so funny him wearing his ring all throughout press right now oh wow maybe he's trying to get her back oh I think so I don't I don't think this was his decision regardless of what Kyle says about what their relationship is this is the dynamic he has called her bluff so many times she has folded in this is the first time she's fully standing up for herself now and he does not know how to handle this situation okay so Bailey's like hi I'll tell me more about your DJ career like do you have a DJ name and Amanda's like well I wanted to start my own business and he decided to become a DJ just to spite me I was like oh my god this is this is so true like this say flash back to the scene where he says oh she wants a passion project I want to be a DJ thank god he got rid of that mullet oh god that was atrocious yes and then Kyle's like well it's a blast it's a way for me to merge all my hard work like no I don't have a DJ name he's like and it's just funny like my wife never asks me these questions and now she's not even listening and Amanda's like whispering to Sierra like I love how he is spinning this no pun intended and then Kyle says like not listening and Amanda's like oh yeah I'm so jealous because she's not listening and thinks he said that like oh I wake up every morning thinking how jealous I am Kyle's like um that's not what I said she's like oh I thought you I wasn't listening I thought you said jealous which is literally he was like I said you weren't listening and I'm like here we night one I just can't imagine making the table feel so uncomfortable like she's so mad at him and so uncomfortable in her relationship like she doesn't give a fuck she is desensitized like she's like I am going to throw you out because guess what you already did to me yeah you chose the DJ career over our marriage so now you're gonna pay the price and he deserves that guys there's only one side do you think that they were already on the road to separation before the season started or do you think she was just toying with this idea like was there a fight already happening of them being like if things don't change I'm out and then they start the season or do you think that they didn't say anything and they've just kind of been playing this cat and mouse game about what their relationship status is it's not like he's home I feel like they're probably not on the same page clearly not even in the same book Mary so Amanda I think has already made the decision that this is probably going to be our last summer um and Kyle came into the summer thinking we are going to get back in the same book I think I think you're you're right because in the preview too Amanda says here you go Kyle making our problems everybody else's like you guys are also kind of equal in that to be honest you guys this is kind of an Austin and Craig situation Amanda Amanda's the Austin so she's gonna do these underhand comments poke poke poke and Kyle's the Craig where he snaps I can only watch so much Netflix and chill okay so after dinner Carl he's gonna handle the cleanup Carl knows his roles and he's having a blast he's in the mix Amanda and Sierra they get in the bed and Jesse's like can I come in I know can I come in I know Wes trying to like also come in they're like you're on probation Wes and they're like there's two new girls Wes why are you guys in here with us they're crying they were making me laugh so hard so then the house goes out and Sierra and Amanda stay in the bed and they start you know talking about Kyle it's so sad she's talking about you know there was just this page six article Kyle squashed it but like I'm completely desensitized like I'm so numb to this I don't even care what he's doing I've been literally dealing with this for 10 years and like the DJ thing makes him happy it doesn't make me happy we are not in a good place and it's not a good sign that I don't care what he's doing and then Kyle to him quote unquote to himself even though he knows there's cameras in his room just speaking out loud Amanda makes me feel like I don't exist she just like doesn't fuck with me it's like these are a product of your decisions Kyle yeah Sierra said you didn't sign up to be with a DJ he's literally choosing partying going out with fans drinking and like she said I know this other guy that's a DJ and he has kids and he comes home right after the set Kyle's all till five a.m. some people look at the DJ life as a job and since some people want to live the life of like the fan who comes and sees the DJ and Kyle and Kyle I mean maybe to be fair for Kyle with the way he's thinking I'm trying to figure anything out but maybe he's like I'm getting the attention I don't get at home even though I'm causing the reason why I don't have attention at home is my own doing I get to escape in a way and like feel like a rock star and that's what Carl said he's like well you're getting the attention when you do the DJ set and that's what I like it they should have gone out but the fact that they also gave us this again thank god that they separated they announced the separation before the season started but she's feeling exactly who she is I think she's really feeling I could be alone I already am alone and I have a ring on well not this weekend because Kyle's lost his but my I don't think my life would change that much yeah it's like she finally got the strength to go yeah good for her again I really think it is because of Paige yeah I like that yeah so then we've got breakfast you know KJ's making the eggs Carl goes for a run that arrives but really the start of the season Weston Jesse diving into that pool as Amanda said we're so back I have noticed Jesse's body when he jumped in that pool he's wearing skims he looked great yeah so then we're talking you know Ben arrives and I know we talked about it a little bit Amanda met Ben skinny dipping in Italy at their friend Katie's wedding it was Katie the bride Amanda and Ben and then the dig that Kyle was holding a speaker blasting it around the pool because I'm not sure now I haven't seen a Kyle DJ set but I've had heard that it's really him just pressing play and it's not his own mixes it's just other songs oh oh so I'm curious if the DJ mix he's playing on the speaker is just his Spotify top I think the DJ thing is very funny just in general like Dorinda Meredith Marks I do Reese right I do think it is probably harder than people assume 100% oh I but I but I don't think that these DJs in particular like I think Maddie Reese is DJing and I say DJing I think Meredith Dorinda are DJing and I put air quotes around this I do think that Kyle's probably trying to expand because he is a learner I also feel like he really had to shift because Loverboy's not doing well like but is it not definitely not it's not good I mean I think it does I think this show sets it up enough but I don't know how many repeat customers is getting as the novelty of getting Loverboy I think it's challenging to find out on the west coast he needs to sell I don't think he can well I think that this company put him millions of dollars in debt and that stress has not helped the marriage it's it's really bad he even says on this press tour right now that he's like we were the fastest growing drink company and it was really had a big hit and not anymore also Carl has been like on the press tours talking about soft bar and he's like so Lindsay was right opening a brick and mortar is really hard oh they're doing watch parties for summer house so like tonight they're having a watch party which I feel like wasn't hit what his intention was with the space but maybe now has to pivot because of that and I think he's doing himself a disservice not doing that so I think this is the smart move of having summer house watch parties there because people want to go right it's looks like a giant space like it must be a lot in rent and I can't imagine $10,000 a month remember yeah yeah and then it's like coffee is what $7 well he also has like mocktails and mixology and stuff but 12 to 14 I saw a lot of those it's New York baby you could probably do 20 to 25 for those things are expensive now right right right okay let's talk the party because everybody's everybody's like setting up for the party and then Kyle's like hold on I gotta set my DJ stuff up like he's like test test and man is like testing my patience like she's so done with him I almost think she just got the ick I think she 100% got the ick like we met they talked about last year remember when Kyle's like what's the ick and I'm like no she's like really reached the ick level with you unfortunately yeah and then also like she says the entire internet is rooting for me to divorce him I don't know what to believe anymore my own thoughts or the internet like when someone is rooting for your divorce what are you gonna do right and how do you avoid that's like you can't not be on the internet so I that's why I could never be a reality star like the pressure of seeing people like talk about you would be too much and for not like Kyle puts himself in compromising positions so that these rumors can get started like if Kyle was at home all the time then the cheating rumors would not be plenty because he's not in a situation that could be in a gray area yeah well he even says and his like back is to the camera and obviously he knows he's miked up but he's talking to a friend and I almost feel like he was trying to conceal the conversation a little bit and he's like very aware of the cameras okay but he says I'm freaked out we are polar opposites she never makes an effort like I hate talking about this but he can feel this is every party though he gets a few drinks in him and then someone asks how it's going on and then he kind of becomes the victim in it and turns it around and then it's almost like maybe he knows it's coming well it's also really interesting because obviously we don't know what happened before the cameras were up but now they have to talk about their relationship and they have to bring it to the camera so they maybe have been avoiding this for quite some time but now the cameras aren't gonna lie and like people want to talk about and they can feel the tension so and they're asked to talk about it and it's just so funny because it's like another summer you guys another summer you know last season they quote unquote got it off because Jesse and Lexi were such the main storyline but I feel like there was also a drama that we did not see last summer from them like this feels like it's a constant they just kind of gave them the summer off I even think about that one winter house remember in the trailer I think her name was Gabby and there was like rumors of like Kyle and Gabby flirting and it was in the trailer and then we never saw it yes I do remember that it's like there have been issues with them for so long and you know you feel bad because you're like we don't know the inner workings of their marriage we only see 45 minutes a week and you know whatever other shows that they're on but at the same time it's like sometimes the most obvious is actually the truth yeah you know I'm sure you guys have good times together but if he's never there right there's not that many times together yeah exactly thoughts on Amanda jumping in the pool she's wearing like a strapless bra on a thong that appeared to become see-through because of the water it was butted underwear it wasn't even a thong okay butted underwear okay but it was sheer sure I didn't think it was that big of a deal at that point it felt like most of the party had ended it was just the cast that was in the pool obviously we saw like nip out there but I just don't think it's that big of a deal the fact that she needed to ask Kyle for permission I don't think she was doing it to be like everyone stare at my boobs like there's a weird brother sisterhood of this cast he got triggered he wanted to have a problem no he got triggered your topless is unbelievable just you're the worst mediator I also thought it was really funny that anyone could have brought Amanda a towel but Ben brought her the towel she has his eye on her sure I mean he's already Ben's already gone skinny dipping with Amanda true so that's why I was like Kyle what do you like freaking out about here is it because there's cameras now or are you just like you you've reached your wits end because you started drinking and you're like you guys are kind of bitching about each other and so now this is something you can blame her for he definitely felt like the most wasted at the party well he's probably checked the udders well 35 second kickstand but overall this party was a blast like them throwing the pies them jumping into the water I just feel like they had a great time who doesn't love a corn dog they were making the corn dogs in their own oven I was kind of shocked by that to be honest yeah and then west abandoned I did not like the petting zoo I don't like petting zoos in general but then around drunk people makes me like really sad like at one point I see like west is holding a baby goat that donkey I mean it was funny when Jesse and west were sitting on the lounge chairs and the donkey just walks by do you think west got the petting zoo to talk to sierra no no I don't I think he just did it because it would be fun but I like their relationship that I like what he said too is like last summer he was worried about the situation it was like kind of awkward and now like enough time has passed by that he's like I'm not gonna worry about like I'm gonna be myself I'm not gonna worry about if sierra's fucking with me or not like I'm hoping that we can have a better relationship and like just move forward from this because we do have a lot of fun together yeah but I just I think he's playing with her heart well maybe I mean I think knowing where they are now and that they seem friendly it seems like they have an understanding between the two of them I also just don't think that she's into Jesse that way at all and like they are really just like a flirty platonic relationship for her when Jesse asks west in the preview like are you okay if I go for sierra no that is not okay Jesse not only that we saw you with lexie last season yeah that is definitely not okay don't shit where you eat right I will I do approve of Bailey and Carl making out I don't think it's anything more than that I think it's just a fun time yeah that's great I'm excited to watch like the Amanda Ben situation it sounds like we'll get a lot with KJ and Dara the grandparent party or the old person party looks like a blast I mean Kyle having a breakdown in an old man outfit while west to go with what you said earlier looks like mrs doubtfire it's just there nothing beats a meltdown in a costume right nothing beats it you know it's just watching them I mean Bailey said it best I just want to eat shrimp and die alone it was such a great premiere it's going to be an awesome season I hope every week could be an hour and 15 minutes I'm really curious who will be on watch what happens live first well because we're recording this before sierra and Amanda that's according to chat GBT okay so Sierra and Amanda are tonight I think is Bravo choosing it side there is only one team guys okay on that note we will be back tomorrow with southern charm I don't money lies in your current account picking crumbs out of its belly button
