One of the biggest misconceptions about buying a home right now is that you have to wait for the perfect moment. Perfect rates, perfect timing, perfect market. The truth is, that moment doesn't really exist. A lot of buyers pause because of headlines or assumptions, but every situation is different. Race change, market shift, and personal goals matter just as much as what's happening nationally. That's why talking to a local lender can be so valuable. Welcome to Hour 2 of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Now, here's Matt Jones. Welcome back. It is Hour 2 here at the Hopkins County Kentucky Sports Factory in Madisonville. An absolutely amazing crowd here with the city of Madisonville. In my opinion, we don't have scientific records on this, but probably breaking the record for most people at a remote outside. If I got reminded the time we did it at the Final Four, but outside of those kind of going to a major UK event and doing the pregame right before it, I think this is probably the largest crowd we've had and certainly the most fun, and it's great to see. And I personally thank you for doing this for my man Drew. 859-280-2287. Text machine is 772-774-5254. A couple comments. One person writes, Matt, you're always trying to create controversy with Mark Pope. He doesn't owe anyone an explanation about his hirings. He's the coach. You all should shut up. Well, it would be very hard to do a show if we shut up all the time. I would respectfully disagree, Ryan, that the coach of a public university does not owe the people who are the fans of a public school explanations. I think that's part of the gig. I mean, one of the things I love about Mark Pope is he says all the time, I think I heard him say yesterday, he was like, yes, there's a lot of pressure, but you should – I think he said the pressure is beautiful because if he don't have pressure, that means it doesn't matter. And if it doesn't matter, then why are we doing this? And I appreciate he gets all that. But part of that pressure means, you know what, yes, we care about this stuff and you do need to explain it to us. This is not, you know, you don't just get to live in secrecy. And I think fans have a right to wonder about whether this is going to happen. When you sit in that chair, you have to understand what this program means to not just us but the entire state from border to border. We live and die with this program. But did he really say beautiful pressure? It's beautiful. I actually think he did say beautiful pressure. Beautiful because it's special. He likes to work in that space. Yes. He does. Elite, elite, elite. I mean, he asked us, you know, to criticize him when things aren't going well, so we're doing it. He asked for it. My thing is, if they like hearing go Big Blue on the road or they could play a game on the moon and Kentucky fans would go, when things aren't going well, those people are going to have opinions. Like, when Kentucky's at their best, you love how good the fan base is, but when you're barely getting into the tournament, you can't be surprised when those same people are upset. The reason there are all of these people here is because Kentucky basketball matters to people in a way that it just doesn't matter anywhere else. And that is – I was actually going to say this anyway, but that is beautiful in a lot of ways. It's special. But you have to embrace it. Listen, I say this all the time. No one cares about this like we do. You know, I went to Duke. I've been to Duke and North Carolina games. They care, but it's not the same as this. It's different. Like, it's different. Probably the only place on earth that cares like we do might be Kansas, right? So, you know, but with that comes more scrutiny. We've been to NBA games where there are fewer reporters than there are at Kentucky games. That's just kind of, you know, how it is. And so that comes with the territory. A couple things here. First of all, the women's team. I don't want to skip the women's team. They're good. And they play Saturday – or Sunday, excuse me, against South Carolina. Right. In the final game of the season, they play the most powerful team in the country on a year-in, year-out basis, South Carolina. This is a huge game for Kentucky. If they could win, they have a chance to get, I don't know, three seed, maybe a four seed in the NCAA tournament. And any time you get Don Staley and South Carolina coming in, if you can get a win, it's huge for your program. You think they have a shot? I think they have a shot because it's at home. I mean, obviously South Carolina is great. But you're right, there's a lot at stake. If Kentucky can get one of that three or four seed, they can host those first two-round games in Lexington. That's kind of so huge and important. So if they can pull this one out, man, it could really change a lot of things for March Madness. If you look at the women's bracketology, if Kentucky could win Sunday, They could get to host, which in the women's tournament, unlike the men's, the first two rounds are in home arenas. They could get a chance to host, so this is a big game for them. I mean, they could be our March Madness that we follow this year. I mean, that's legitimately true. The SEC is so tough. They've had some bad losses. But I think when you have a player like Clara Strack, there's just not many of her. When they get to the tournament, they are set up to make a good run. I think last year that heartbreaking loss where Georgia Amor had the look and it felt like it touched the rim nine times and didn't go in, I'm excited to see them maybe take a step further in the second year of Kenny Brooks. I also, Shannon, saw a story today that I thought you would like this morning. Okay. So, you know, I can be like sort of a law nerd a little bit. Yeah, every now and then. All right, so for years, going back 20 years, if you want to read about the Supreme Court, there's only one place to do it. It's called SCOTUSBlog, all right, Supreme Court of the United States. What are you laughing at? That sounds fun. Scotus Blog. I'm sure you got – I haven't seen that part of the internet yet. Ryan spends a lot of time on Scotus Blog. When I need to go to sleep, I just pull that out and read it. So, Scotus – All right. You know, listen. What going on on Scotus Blog? Don't – Ryan, you don't want me looking at your search history. Let's just leave it at that. If the worst thing I do is go to Scotus Blog. But it's run by, Shannon, this guy – this law firm. that does Supreme Court litigation. And I've known this guy's name forever. His name's Thomas Goldstein. And so for years, like, part of me's like, man, that would have been a cool place to work because he does. Well, I just found out he got convicted yesterday and is going to federal prison for anywhere from five to 30 years for not paying his taxes. You can't be doing that. Which, for a dude who spends his life covering the Supreme Court, maybe he should have known that. But then you read the details of what he did. He was a high-stakes poker player, okay, would play in these huge poker tournaments, and he was really good. And he would win a lot of money and then try to hide it from the IRS. Again, this is a guy who spends his life arguing in front of the Supreme Court and writing about the Supreme Court. The details of what he did are wild. He one time was playing one-on-one poker, okay, me versus you, for two straight days. And he won a lot of money from the guy he was playing. Take a guess how much money this dude won playing one-on-one poker with a rich, unnamed businessman. You say a lot of money. I mean, that could be anywhere. I'm going to say $100,000. $100,000. What do you think? $5 million. He won $51 million. What? My goodness. From one guy. Oh, my. $51 million from one guy. First of all, how bad is that guy? Yeah, and how much money do you have if you're willing to bet $51 million? And lose it just one-on-one. Right, no big deal. So then he tries to hide the $51 million, and he tries to do all this stuff. Now, because he was in this poker world, lots of poker people used him as their lawyer. He represented Tobey Maguire. You know the actor Tobey Maguire? Tobey Maguire had been playing one-on-one poker. He won $7 million from a businessman. The businessman didn't pay. He hires the lawyer to go and get the money for him. Lawyer does it, gets the judgment. He owes Tobey Maguire $500,000, or Tobey Maguire owes him $500,000 for his legal services. He tells Tobey Maguire, hey, man, instead of paying me, just pay this guy over there, somebody he owed money to. Tobey Maguire testifies in federal court. That was one of the ways he would try to keep the IRS from seeing his money. He would make his legal fees paid out to other people and then write to the IRS that it was paid to him. So he did this entire scheme, and now he's going to prison. This is a guy who spent his entire life covering the Supreme Court, and now he will go to prison for hiding money. The case of somebody that's really smart, that thinks they can outsmart the government, everybody out of the IRS. Where are these one-on-one poker games happening? Like in somebody's basement? And who is the person that can lose $51 million in a one-on-one poker game? Who is that person? A billionaire. Unbelievable. If you haven't seen it, read the story. There's a long magazine article about what all he did. There's also some other stuff that, like, I don't want to get into with all these children here, but just read about this dude. Crazy story. Seems to be like a whole underground poker thing going on. Yeah, that you didn't know. Yeah. Who's up next? Bumblebee. Bumblebee. Go ahead. Bumblebee. Hey, Matt. Yes. First of all, congratulations to Drew. I've known him since he was a little kid. I lived in Maddoxville for 13 years now. I live back home in Mount Sterling. He's friends with my son, Brandon, but my name is Dwayne Lee. All right, Dwayne, thank you. Yeah, you guys were name-driving, and I was surprised Drew didn't bring this one up, but most of the crowd might agree with me, and Drew would too. But one of the best dual sport athletes to ever come out of there to me was Michael the Hammer Haney. He played at Eastern in basketball, played overseas in pro. He also could have been a pro football player, but he chose basketball. Michael, the Hammer is a very good nickname. Dwayne and I went to school with him. I don't remember calling him the Hammer. That might have just been between you and Michael. But he was very good. No, no. I mean, your name is Bumblebee. Maybe you all had pet names for each other, Bumblebee and the Hammer. That's right. That's right. And give a shout-out to Frank. I haven't seen him in years either. Thank you. All right, Matt. Thank you, buddy. I appreciate the call He was good Got us to state when I was in school Who up next DG DG go ahead What up guys Real quick want to give a shout to one of my best friends from Madisonville Mason Rowland, played collegiate basketball. No one's brought up Brescia University with him. So, shout-out to him in Madisonville. One quick thing. So, looking, you know, obviously everybody knows in March, guards win in March. So, over the past four games, you know, looking at, I'll tell you, O.A. and Denzel Aberdeen. O.A. averaging, I think, is like 19-and-a-half, and Aberdeen at 16-and-a-half, and Chandler's been shooting the ball very well as of late. Do you think, looking ahead of March, the inconsistency of the big and Derrickson and Marino and Delovich? You make a very good point about the guards. All right, so I appreciate the call. If you look at the history, Ryan, of NCAA tournament teams that win, It is very, very, very rare for a team to win a title whose best players are big. It's not – I mean, we did with Anthony Davis, but it is rare. Usually in March, guards win titles. Yep. And guards take teams to the Final Four. So if you are wanting to be optimistic about Kentucky's March run, it's a good sign that our three best players are probably the guards. Now, those guards can be inconsistent. Chandler can go cold. O.A. has Mrs. Layups. Obviously Aberdeen had a bad first half of the year. But if you wanted to be optimistic, a case for us being good is the best teams in March usually ride their guards, and we do have really good guards. And I think O.A. and Aberdeen and Chandler could carry a team through a couple games in March Madness for sure. But we saw what South Carolina did to O.A. They said, okay, O.A. and Chandler, they're not going to beat us. We're going to take them out. But then Aberdeen. Aberdeen's the guy that stepped up. And Diabate in the second half. I don't think most teams are going to do what South Carolina did. And remember, if Trent Noah and Yelovich hit threes, that strategy, we would have blown them out. Yeah. But they just missed them. Yeah, I guess Trent, Jasper, and Yelovich were one for 11 from three. I'm trying to do the math on the phone. Yes, they were one for 11. Maybe one for 12. Yeah, but I also think to games where you have Owey, have two career highs back-to-back, you end up losing. Someone of the bench, or maybe Yelovich starting at the four, someone else is going to have to lift up and help those guards. Because I agree that the guards can carry them, but they're still going to need someone else to rise to the nation. I mean, part of the reason, Shannon, why I don't think Florida can repeat is I don't think their guards are good enough. They've got great bigs, but I don't think their guards are good enough. And in March, there's exceptions, but you tend to win with guards. I do think our guards have developed into being very good. They have. And if I'm playing Kentucky, I think I would take the South Carolina approach. Shut down 0-8, and then if the other guys beat you, so be it. Let the chips fall where they may. But, you know, Owe was averaging, what, 28, 29 points per game the last two or three. So you shut him down, I think I would take my chances doing that. And watch Chandler in the postseason. How many times has he shown us he'll make a play in the final minutes in a tight game? And you need that kind of attitude and that kind of player in the tournament. Hopefully we even have an opportunity for him to do it. But imagine him hitting one of those threes to take you to the next weekend or something like that. You know what, Ryan Lemon, you need a facial. Oh, yeah, I have a pretty face. I can use a facial. No, that's not what they're for. The nurse who should have been in charge of caring for tiny babies is now the most prolific child killer in modern British history. Everyone thought they knew how it ended. A verdict, a villain, a nurse named Lucy Letby. Lucy Letby has been found guilty. But what if we didn't get the whole story? The moment you look at the whole picture, the case collapses. I'm Amanda Knox, and in the new podcast, Doubt, the case of Lucy Letby, we follow the evidence and hear from the people that lived it to ask what really happened when the world decided who Lucy Letby was. No voicing of any skepticism or doubt. It'll cause so much harm at every single level if the British establishment of this is wrong. Listen to Doubt, the case of Lucy Letby on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Nancy Glass, host of the Burden of Guilt Season 2 podcast. This is a story about a horrendous lie that destroyed two families. Late one night, Bobby Gumpwright became the victim of a random crime. He pulls the gun, tells me to lie down on the ground. He identified Jermaine Hudson as the perpetrator. Jermaine was sentenced to 99 years. I'm like, Lord, this can't be real. I thought it was a mistaken identity. The best lie is partial truth. For 22 years, only two people knew the truth. Until a confession changed everything. I was a monster. Unfortunately, it didn't go according to plan. He became the first Bachelor to ever have his final rose rejected. The internet turned on him. If I could press a button and rewind it, all I would. But what happened to Clayton after the show made even bigger headlines. It began as a one-night stand and ended in a courtroom, with Clayton at the center of a very strange paternity scandal. The media is here. This case has gone viral. The dating contract. Agree to date me, but I'm also suing you. Please search warrant. This is unlike anything I've ever seen before. I'm Stephanie Young. It is Kentucky Sports Radio here live in Madisonville, Hopkins County, Kentucky Sports Factory. We just had some of the food they have here at the Back Porch Grill. It was great. The Big Blue Drink, which for those of you that are here, this is really, really good. Big Blue Blast is what it's called. And it's got various levels of caffeine. And this is excellent. This woke me up today. And all the really good food. And they have corn nuggets. I'm a big fan. For those of you that are Cover Zero listeners, we talked about corn nuggets all year. Because I didn't think you could get them anywhere except the Middlesbrough High School cafeteria. And now you can get them here as well in Madisonville. Yeah, I used to have them at West Broadway Elementary. This is probably 30 years since I've seen those. I'm excited to have them. I didn't know they did that anywhere else. By the way, Kentucky, it's not on DraftKings yet, but on another betting site, which we don't acknowledge them. There are other bets. There is another site. Kentucky is a one-and-a-half-point favorite. Ooh, interesting. I had this as a little bit of a dog. Boy, that's a surprise to me. I like it, though. I mean, the dude in the gold chain over there doesn't like it Because he's evil, but besides him, besides him, I think you've got to be – that's kind of surprising, but I like it. Considering Vanderbilt has their second leading score back, who they didn't have in the first game, that is interesting. Duke Miles. Oh, he's back? Yes. Yeah, good point. He played this last game. I actually don't like it. I was hoping to get some points. I was going to bet us. I was hoping to get about two. One person writes, Matt, the combine is going on. How about some of how our U.K. guys have done? Been kind of surprising. You know, the football season, we didn't feel like we had a lot of guys who would get drafted. It's looking like at least two of our guys may get drafted, maybe even three, and another one might be the fastest player at the combine. So we'll go through it. David Gusta, who played on the defensive line last year. Some people may not even remember that he was on the team, although he played pretty well some of the year. He's one of the biggest transfers they got. David Gustav ran like a 4.8, 40. He did 40 reps, which is like a crazy amount apparently on the bench press, and is like considered one of the best performers so far in the combine. So we're probably going to see him get drafted. Yeah, he was one of the biggest names, if not the biggest name, they got in the portal last spring, and he had a good year. That defensive line actually played pretty well, the whole unit. But we were all just kind of caught up in the bigger picture with Kentucky football and didn't really get to shine the light on him that he probably deserved. And then your guy, Jagger, is looking like he's going to get picked somewhere. And Jagger Burton from Lexington, somewhere in the middle to late rounds in offensive line, he's ranked as one of the top eight centers in the draft. Yeah, and that's why they moved him to center. They think that was his future in the NFL because he's got long arms and he's smart. He can read the defenses and make the right set calls. So I'm really happy and proud of Jagger. And then a dude that we should have gotten the ball to more, Kedrick Law, I guess he runs the 40 today, and they're saying that he and another guy have a chance to contend for the fastest 40 ever at the combine. Kedrick Law, like we never even got him the ball. And this is a dude who might – they're saying he may very well make NFL teams as a kick returner. Yeah, the last month of the year they finally started going to him and it was working. You know, he's getting like nine catches a game there for a few weeks, and it kind of was like you're saying. It's like, well, where was that all season? He was big in the road win at Auburn, and maybe the game against Florida, I think he had a couple big games. So, you know, it looked like Kentucky was going to have no guys drafted, and now they have maybe three, maybe even four who end up getting picked, and that's just, in some ways, that's almost a little more frustrating. Why weren't we better, Sharon? It is. You know, we heard before the season started we had top 30 talent. You know, if you go player by player down the roster and to have the results that we had with that roster is very frustrating. We haven't gotten to talk a lot about football in the last few weeks because of basketball. Let me ask you folks, how many of you by hand feel optimistic about the Will Stein era of football? Oh, wow. I'm really glad to see that because there hasn't been optimism around the football program. I feel it. I've asked – we're hoping to get him on the show before the SEC tournament for a long sit-down. We'll see if it ends up happening. I hope it does. But I am very optimistic, Ryan. And I don't think people – there was all that information at the beginning, and it's been a little quiet, spring practice starting, but I really like what Will is building. It's great to see the fans react this way because we all enjoyed Mark Stoop. He was the best coach we've ever had. But it was time for a breath of fresh air. I think Will Stein has not only brought that, he's brought another level of energy that the fan base needed as well as that locker room needed it. Spring practice starts when? It's like next week, isn't it? I think it's next week, and you'll learn a lot more about these guys. I'm interested to learn about our quarterback. I mean, Kenneth Minchie, we know very, very little about, but people around him – I mean, I had a friend, Shannon, who's a booster at Notre Dame, say to me, you guys are going to love that kid like love him He said he thinks he better than anybody we had in the last decade besides Will Levis That high praise right there I mean that high praise We see if it ends up happening Coming from somebody who knows the player and has seen him. That's exactly right. Who's up next? Adam. Adam. Go ahead, Adam. Hey, what's up, guys? Shout out to Hopkins County. I'm right next door in Caldwell County. Travis Ford may be my favorite player of all time. That was right in my Will house. I was probably seven or eight years old with that 93 team with Mashburn. That's one of my favorite teams of all time. Yeah, yeah. I mean, it was a great team. What else you got? I don't know if you heard of Aaron Torres' podcast. He was talking about the same thing that you mentioned about talking about the GM and not just hiring a Kentucky alum just to hire a Kentucky alum. He said, you know, do something like Duke did and go get somebody from Nike that knows these agents day in and day out. Well, that to me is the thing, and I appreciate the call. I trust Mark Pope to know Drew, to know the players he wants. I don't think he did the best job this year, but he did a pretty good job his first year. I think he knows the players he wants. I trust Mark Pope to know who's good, who's not. But a lot of recruiting now is talking to agents. He clearly is not good at that. Find somebody who can do that, and it probably is somebody who worked at Nike, you know, whatever. But what you don't want to do is just go hire a guy that you happen to play with. Yeah, well, even in his joking yesterday when he said, I want somebody that will go get me the best players for free, he said a lot of my former teammates and people around here are already hitting me up for it, and he downplays, like, I can't trust them. That at least gave me a little comfort. Good, yes. He's not just going to hand it off to someone that was on the 96 team. Yeah, I mean, I understand the desire for comfort, but I think he probably needs to go out of his comfort zone. Yeah, it's much of a business hire as much as it is a basketball hire these days. That's exactly right. All right, when we come back, we're going to draw somebody's name here. Nice. To get ready to shoot for $10,000. Everybody get your tickets out. We will be drawing it when we come back. This is Kentucky Sports Radio live in Madisonville. TJ Smith, personal injury attorney. Call TJ. He'll make them pay. Now, more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones. Welcome back. It is Kentucky Sports Radio. Here live at the Kentucky Sports Factory, an awesome facility, 92,000 square feet, basketball, volleyball, pickleball, soccer, t-ball, batting cages, all here. Ryan says the nicest one in the state. I've not seen one nearly this good and excited to be here. Great crowd. Before we get started, let's go to Cornbread Hemp. If you need to rest and relax, what do you do, Ryan? I'm taking some Cornbread Hemp, baby. Bring it on. Took it last night, brought it across county lines. It was good. March is National Sleep Month, and it's better to rest your mind with Cornbread Hemp. From now through tomorrow, you can save $25 off any purchase with Treat 25. That's Treat 25. Cornbread Hemp, the gummies, the sleep oil, all there. Cornbread Hemp, this is the good life. Now, we are going to in a minute, I'm going to draw somebody here to shoot for $10,000 from the good folks here at the Sport Factory. But before we do this, we need to just, like, see how it works, right? I mean, not everybody can – you know, these people need to know what to do. Yeah, we'll make sure the ball's regulation and all that. That's exactly right. So we're right here at half court. Now, you folks sitting there – no, you don't have to get up. Just watch out. The ball might fly and hit in your face. Head on a swivel. Billy, our sports. Everybody give Billy our sports here a round of applause. Oh, the social pressure. Come on up, Billy. He looks terrified. Billy looks a little scared. That's okay because you always say you're confident. Billy, I want you to go to half court, and we're going to let Billy take the first attempt. This is not for $10,000. This is for pride. Billy, I'll give you $10. So, everybody, I want to give a big round of applause here for Billy. Billy, Billy, Billy. Here we go. He already shot two balls earlier today. Billy, don't cross the line. You can jump across it, but you can't. Your toe has to be before it. Here we go. Everybody. Billy. Billy. Billy. Billy. He doesn't look too confident. Billy. Money. Money. No. The rim or backboard or anything. Okay, only 10 feet short and to the left. Nice job, Billy. That was his third shot. You know, Shannon took one and hit it. He took one shot this morning and hit it. I'll tell you what, we can't give that as the one. Mario there. Let's let Mario. Mario. Come on, give us your phone. Where's the ball? The ball's underneath the table. Mario's making this. He's a hooper. Now, for people who don't know, Mario's brother played basketball at Moorhead State, was a good player. Mario played in high school. You played with – what's the guy's name from Florida? Castleton. Played with Colin Castleton from Florida. Played with Shaden Sharp. Played with Shaden Sharp. Here we go. Let's give it to him. Come on, Mario. Let's go, Mario. Oh, this is good. At least hit the backboard. Oh, we're dribbling between the lines. Look at him. Get the rhythm, get the rhythm, get the rhythm. Oh, wait a minute. Yeah. Oh. All right. Can nobody hit the rim but me? So 0 for 2, 0 for 2, zero rim hits. Not a great start, but I feel like anyone here in Madisonville will do better. No, no, we're not doing it in the crowd yet because the crowd is for the money. So we're going to hang on for just a second. 859-280-2287. Let's talk about one thing that is in the news about broadcasting. All right, so college sport, everybody knows that there needs to be regulations in college sports. Donald Trump announced yesterday he's going to have a round table to talk about college sports. He's invited a list of people that have nothing to do with college sports. So I don't think it's going to be very productive. However, there is something going on that I do think is important, which is there's a fight right now, Drew, between the commissioners of the SEC and the Big Ten and everyone else in college sports. I'll give you the quick version of it. Right now, the way you do television, each conference negotiates their own deal. Right? So the SEC is with ESPN. That's why our games are on ESPN, SEC Network, et cetera. Like the Big Ten, their deal is with Fox and CBS, et cetera. So each conference does it their own way. Well, what does that end up doing? The conferences that are the most powerful, they get more money, right? So part of why the SEC and the Big Ten are dominating sports, we get a lot more money on our TV deals than the ACC and the Big 12. Kentucky gets, like use Louisville as an example, Kentucky gets twice as much money as Louisville does from their TV deal. Well, you guys remember when you were watching college football this year, a guy would get on television and go, we need to save college sports, and he'd be standing in front of a truck and he'd be like, let's do the Save the College Sports Act. Remember that? I definitely remember that. His name's Cody Campbell. Well, here's what he wants. He wants all the conferences to come together, pull their TV rights, and sell them together. He says, we'll make more money if we do that. Well, sort of. The conferences like the ACC and the Big 12 will make more money, but SEC and Big Ten will not. Now what was interesting is Mitch Barnhart, if you remember, agreed with him. And I think I told you on this show at the time, I was like, I'm kind of surprised Mitch Barnhart has that position. Well, yesterday the SEC and the Big Ten came out and said they disagree with him, do not want to pull the rights. The reason that's important is, as we're trying to get legislation to regulate it, now, Drew, the major conferences are not even agreeing with each other. And I think that is going to make it much, much harder to get this stuff passed. Yeah, and the SEC and Big Ten have kind of been – I'm not operating on their own, but, you know, it's kind of been rumored. Yeah, they have. They're eventually breaking off and trying to work like that. And as each season passes, they're getting bigger and bigger, and it's clear they're the two big dogs. Did you say Mitch, like, went against the conference? Shockingly to me, when he initially made his statement, he said he agreed with that guy. I think. Now, I could be wrong, but I think he did. And I was like, that's odd to me because what that guy wants will hurt schools like Kentucky, I would think. Now the conference has come out and said they disagree with him, so we'll see what happens. My point of all that is just to say I feel like, Ryan, we're even farther away from this stuff than we were a few months ago. You know, SEC football generates a lot of money, and you don't want to give that out to everybody else. You'd like to keep that for yourself within your conference. Well, the question is, do you want to share that money, Shannon, with Louisville or not? No. Yeah, the answer is always no. I think the answer, at least for Kentucky, is no. Who's up next? Steven. Steven. Go ahead, Steven. Hey, guys. Sorry to call in a little bit late here. I kind of wanted to get your all's feel. I know Pope's kind of shown some reticence on filling this GM position. I know that kind of varies with the programs, the capacity in which they operate. I didn't know for Kentucky what you thought the best capacity would be to fix issues going forward, whether it's Pope connecting with the players, development, retention, or what it may be. Is that someone that's more grassroots on the high school scene, coming from an NBA background? I appreciate the call. I've said this a few times. You just need a business person who knows the economics of basketball, who knows these younger people, who knows the agents. You just need somebody, honestly, completely different than what we have right now. We're good with the high school guys, but the problem is not getting the high school guys to like us, Ryan. It's getting them to sign on the dotted line, which is why we need a business person. Yeah, it doesn't necessarily need to be a U.K. person at all. Duke went out and hired somebody from Nike. That wasn't no Duke person. They got the right person. No, it wasn't. There wasn't no Duke person. The word emotional has come up about Pope a couple times from like the agent and recruiting side. And it seems to be that's what's holding him back. Because at the end of the day, I mean, we love being emotional about it. These kids are like, how much am I getting? How many minutes am I playing? Congratulations, you have all those banners. I'm here to, you know, for me pretty much. All right, so here we go. One of you is going to shoot for $10,000. Everybody have your ticket out. Nice. I'm going to get you have 20 seconds for me, for you to hold it up, or I will move to the next person. So, because if you're not here, you cannot shoot. Here we go. Dun, dun, dun. Where is? Three, four, seven. Three, four, seven. Over here. You got it? Oh, let's go, Sid. Now, wait a minute. Sid, I'm going to assume you have three, four, seven. is 347. Is 347 who wants to shoot? Sid said he wants to shoot. Come on over here, Sid. All right. Come on over here. Put your – I believe – let me look. Here we go. All right. Come on up here, Sid. Stand with me. Sid, I assume your name is Sid. That's the name I'm going by today. Okay. Sid, what do you do? I am a retired man from – I was an environmental professional with a local business here. Okay. Now, I'm going to – I hope you don't mind me asking you this, but the people on the radio can't see you. How old are you, Sid? 17. No, times four plus two. I'm 70 years old. 70 years old. Yes, sir. Now, Sid, I draw you out $10,000. That's a lot of money, Sid. It is. Have you made a half-court shot before? probably not have you ever tried i made a few shots back in my eighth grade career okay when was the last time you shot a basketball it's been several months actually oh it's just several months though oh yeah yeah every now and then throw one up so why yeah you'll hoop sometimes yeah rarely yes okay and do you live in madisonville i'd live on the north side of Madisonville. I'm actually in that magic zone between Madisonville and Hanson. Oh, we all know about that. Of course we do. There's one thing I say. Those people between Madisonville and Hanson, that's where you have to go. That's where you go. Alright, now Sid, you're not allowed to take a practice shot. Am I correct about that? No practice shot. Can you at least hold the ball? Here's what I'm going to let you do. During the break, I'm going to let you hold the ball. You can go back here, dribble, kind of feel it. No shots. And then Sid, when we come back, You are taking that shot for $10,000. And the joy in the Madisonville community. That's what I'm really playing for here. That's what you're playing for. Sid, what would you do with $10,000? What would you do? What would you spend it on? My wife, of course. His wife. My wife. Where's your wife? Donna. Stand up, Donna. Hello. He's shooting for you. He's shooting for you. Don't give any to Jeremy. Don let him have any Jeremy gets none Zero All right Jeremy gets none I don know who that is I grew up with his son That my son Yeah They were classmates actually All right Sid You take the break Go stretch out. Get limber. When we come back, we'll shoot. And because this is a big game Saturday, we haven't done these in a while, Ryan Lemon's going to give his first basketball pep talk to the people of Madisonville. Wow. I'm so excited. He doesn't even know he's doing it, but he is. That's all when we come back. Sid, 70 years old for $10,000 here in Madisonville. We'll be right back. In 2023, a story gripped the UK, evoking horror and disbelief. I'm Clayton Eckerd, and in 2022, I was the lead of ABC's The Bachelor. Unfortunately, it didn't go according to plan. He became the first Bachelor to ever have his final rose rejected. The internet turned on him. If I could press a button and rewind it all, I would. But what happened to Clayton after the show made even bigger headlines. It began as a one-night stand and ended in a courtroom, with Clayton at the center of a very strange paternity scandal. The media is here. This case has gone viral. The dating contract. Agree to date me, but I'm also suing you. Please search for it. This is unlike anything I've ever seen before. I'm Stephanie Young. This is Love Trapped. This season, an epic battle of he said, she said, and the search for accountability in a sea of lies. I have done nothing except get pregnant by the f***ing bachelor! Listen to Love Trapped on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Listen to Burden of Guilt Season 2 on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What if mind control is real? If you could control the behavior of anybody around you, what kind of life would you have? Can you hypnotically persuade someone to buy a car? When you look at your car, you're going to become overwhelmed with such good feelings. Can you hypnotize someone into sleeping with you? I gave her some suggestions to be sexually aroused. Can you get someone to join your cult? NLP was used on me to access my subconscious. NLP, aka Neuro Linguistic Programming, is a blend of hypnosis, linguistics, and psychology. Fans say it's like finally getting a user manual for your brain. It's about engineering consciousness. Mind Games is the story of NLP. It's crazy cast of disciples and the fake doctor who invented it at a New Age commune and sold it to guys in suits. He stood trial for murder and got acquitted. The biggest mind game of all? NLP might actually work. This is wild. Listen to Mind Games on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Starting right here, all the way in all these scoreboards, these are the scores of Kentucky's National Championship Games. So in 1951, 58, 78, 96, 98, finishing with the national title in 2012. So they set the scoreboard to our national titles. You see right there number three, number four, five, six, seven, and eight. Ryan Lemon, I think that's very cool. I'm glad he told us that because that is really cool to kind of honor our national championship when we hang another banner. Yes, so very neat. All right, so here we go. It's time for the shot. Mario is going to kind of – during the break sort of toss the ball. We realize we think Sid might need to go one-handed to get it all the way there. So Mario is going to do a one-handed just to give Sid. you're going to need to throw it more than you think. I'll just say that. So, Mario, let's try one-handed. Let's give Sid some motivation. Here we go. Here we go. Cluck that close. Now, Mario, your foot was on the line there, so be careful, Sid. You don't want to go with the foot on the line. All right, Sid. Come on, Sid. Here we go. I really want him to hit this. I've known him my whole life. I believe in him. Come on, Sid. $10,000. Hang on, hang on, hang on, hang on, hang on. Oh, you're icing the kicker. Let me set it up. Drew went to school with Sid's kid. Jeremy. Sid's wife's name is what? Donna. Donna. She's filming him. She blew him a kiss. Sid, you were her second choice, but that's okay. We learned with Tyron Stokes, second choice can still work after all these years. Sid, good luck. Let's go, Madisonville. Let's hit it. Come on, Sid. Come on, Sid. Sid. Sid. Sid. Sid. Sid. Sid. Sid. Sid. Sid. Sid. Sid. Sid. Sid. Sid. Sid. Sid. Sid. Sid. Sid. Sid. Oh! First of all, Sid, hang on. Rock it. My goodness. Sid, that was a cannon you have. The goal in front of us, not the other court. Sid. Roger Clemens throwing it out there. I'll tell you what. Sid, I told you to throw it hard. Because of that, you may have thrown it a little too hard. You got his head. I'm going to just do a Matt Jones. From me, personally, if you make it, $5,000 from me. Oh, my goodness. Wow. All right. So now hang on, Sid, because I feel personal responsibility for the fact that you threw it so far. So, Sid, I can't do 10. City of Madison, this fine factory has a lot more going than I do, apparently. But I'll go $5,000 from Matthew Harper Jones. Everybody give Sid a big round of applause. You can do it, Sid. You can do it. Here we go. Oh, no. Good distance. That's all right. Everybody give Sid a big round of applause. Just a bit outside. Nice. Well, I had mixed emotions as to whether I wanted him to make the second one. Yeah, exactly. Can I shoot one for your 5K? No, you cannot. This is not a transferable. I already hit one. Where's my 5K? It is not transferable. All right. Kentucky and Vanderbilt play tomorrow. The Cats, if they win, they're right now on ESPN listed as a seven seed. On CBS, they're listed as a six seed. I think if they win this game, they have a chance to maybe get to a six, potentially even if you beat Texas A&M, start knocking on the door of a five. If you win tomorrow, you almost certainly will not have to play on Wednesday in the SEC tournament, so there's a lot going on. We will start with you, Shannon. What do you think is going to happen? Yeah, your favorite team. This is always a tough one for me. I think, though, Kentucky is going to get more points in the paint this game, which isn't saying much compared to the last game. But I think Moreno is going to be the MVP. Kentucky wins at 77-73. Oh, the Vandy fan picks Kentucky. Wow. All right, Drew. Got to get it done. I hope they realize that in the locker room. This is a big win. I say they finish strong. I say they win, not comfortably, but they'll be fine winning about seven points. We'll call it 84-77. My MVP is Yellovich. All right, hang on just a second. Listen, team members from Madisonville, where are you going? Just because you didn't win the money, you can't, you can't, you can't. We still have my man here to say something. But before we get to him, Kentucky, by the way, game starts at 2 o'clock. Pre-game show is on at 1130. Come watch the game at the bar. We will be doing the pregame show live from KS Bar. So if you're going, you can park at the bar, eat there before or after. If we win, I'm going to do the postgame show there after. Oh, nice. If we win. So just keep that in mind. Show starts at 1130. Restaurant opens at 11. I like Kentucky's chances tomorrow. I do think they're going to rally. I think it's going to be a special crowd in there with the game being at 2 o'clock. I'm going to say Kentucky gets the victory. I'm going to go 78-74. Kentucky gets the win. Now, Mr. Lemon, I want you to stand up there. It is time for Ryan Lemon to do his first basketball pep talk. He's already messing up. And nearly disconnected us. Already. Seriously. All right. Ryan, you have one minute and a half. Stop dancing. He doesn't know what he's doing. All right. Go for it, sir. My man, take a knee. I said take a knee. I'm tired of us losing these games. We're playing like, not like fighters, we're playing like lovers. Oh, no. I'm tired of everybody saying we're playing like, bow, chicka, bow, bow. All right, stop being creepy. It's time to man up. I mean, their point guard is as small as I am. Their number one fan is Shannon the Dude for crying out loud. Pull in your best Frank Ramsey. Put on your Travis Ford jersey. Shoot like John Hood. And let's go kick Vanderbilt's ass. Are you with me? Let's do it. Yeah. Yeah, let's go. Yes, let's give him a little. His shirt off. The confetti is being. Oh, my goodness. He's hugging women in the crowd. Oh, no. That's our marketing director in Madisonville. We're firing confetti. We're firing confetti. What a party. I want a half-court shot. Where's the ball? Thank you very much, Madisonville, for coming out. Let's give him on the way out, Drew, a CATS. Oh, C-A-T-S, that, that, that. Thank you guys very much for coming out. We'll see you later.
