Summary

This episode of The Leviathan Chronicles follows a dramatic rescue mission where the crew of the Invenios saves hostages from pirates, only to discover a shocking betrayal by crew member Oberlin St. Claire, who reveals himself as a traitor working with the pirates. The episode culminates in multiple plot threads: the crew's pursuit of a mysterious parcel, the introduction of Lord Mallor and a shadowy consortium acquiring extraterrestrial technology, and hints of larger global threats emerging post-Leviathan.

Insights
  • Organizational loyalty and identity crises emerge when individuals prioritize personal freedom and survival over collective missions, as demonstrated by Oberlin's defection and Archie's rejection of Leviathan's rebuilding efforts.
  • Resource scarcity and operational costs force organizations to transition from passion-driven missions to business-oriented models, as evidenced by the Invenios crew's need to run charters and secure funding for repairs.
  • Hidden power structures and shadow organizations (the Consortium) operate parallel to known institutions, acquiring strategic assets and leveraging information asymmetries for geopolitical advantage.
  • Trauma and loss create divergent responses within teams—some seek purpose through continued service while others pursue revenge or isolation, complicating organizational cohesion during crises.
  • Technological artifacts of unknown origin become leverage points for non-state actors to negotiate with established powers, suggesting emerging threats from asymmetric actors.

We thank you for listening and for supporting us. The Invenios Expeditions a Leviathan Chronicles Storm Chapter 12 Everyone get on your knees. Please just do what he says. I'm the captain. We can give you what you want but don't hurt my crew. Chief! Uh that's right I'm the Chief Captain. Look my friend. I am not your friend. Hey! I hate this! We're gonna work. Okay okay we can work something out. I swear just just let the man go. The show shoved Sinclair to what the crew of the Invenios and watched him lower to his knees. Now I believe I am owed my payment. What exactly did you have in mind? What is the name of the ship? We're the Invenios. Then for my payment I am taking the Invenios. Over my dead body. Haha that's exactly what I was thinking. Who drives this ship? Who is the pilot? I drive the ship. Abby what are you doing? I can drive the ship. Just please put the gun down. You're scaring us. Then you will have to learn to steer while you are scared. Up now I want you to drive the ship north. Quickly! Okay okay. Abby stared at Oberlin and then cautiously rose to her feet. She approached the helm and quickly pressed several buttons and touch screens across the command console. Well why isn't the ship moving? I'm trying. Try harder. I can't. You said you're the pilot. Did you lie to me? No no no I can. Pilot the boat I can. It's just the whole command console is locked out. I need to enter an authorization code. And who has this code? Is it you she captain? It is. But I'm not giving you the code and I'm not giving you this ship. We can pay your ransom if that's what you want. We can negotiate an arrangement. You want to negotiate with me? Okay she captain let's negotiate. Get up. All of you get up. We are going to get some fresh air. Captain Kashou kept his rifle trained on the ship's crew as each stiffly rose to their feet. Outside now. Gesturing with his gun he guided the crew including some clear outside to the front bow of the ship. Okay. Chief captain now we negotiate. Give me the code to the ship. I already told you this is our ship. We'll pay you but we're not giving you the ship. Kashou walked over to Yuki and grabbed her by the hair. I'll let you pull in her to the edge of the boat. Let go of me. Right now my partner is on a boat 50 miles from over here and I have to join her. It is very important that I join her. And if it is important to me it is important for you. Chief captain. Don't do it Chief. Hey let her go. Don't hurt her. She doesn't know the codes please. She's just a submarine pilot. Please let her go. Submarine pilot eh? That means she likes being underwater. Kashou took a step back and pointed his gun at Yuki. Jump into the water. What? Jump into the water. Your captain is feeling quiet. We'll see if watching you draw and makes him feel like talking. No! Now jump! Jump now! I'll shoot you! I'm talking jump right now. I will kill every single person here. All right. I'll tell you. I'll give you the cold. Give it to me now. I'll give it to you. You just need to turn around and ask the real captain. Real captain. Kashou turned. Nobody gives orders on the Invenio, except me. Just in time to see Tully standing at the entryway to the bridge, brandishing a long spear gun. Now get the fuck off my boat. Before Kashou could react, he looked in and confusion to see a three-foot long titanium spear protruding from his acting. Looks like the sharks found a new friend. Tully! Are you okay? Tully, that was amazing. You should be out of the bed, then. Look at the size of that spear gun. We shot the captain. A few moments later, the crew reassembled on the bridge. See, Oberlin, I told you old days he still had some life in her. That she does. I'll have Sheffey hang her back over the bar when he restocks the limes. Thanks for saving our bacon, captain. You should thank Abby for her quick thinking. She routed the camera and audio feed from the bridge down to the med bay before locking out the helm. Thanks, captain. I didn't know if you'd be conscious enough to hear what was happening, but I figured you were our only chance. That was smart, Abby. Damn, straight, but we still got a lot of work to do. Tully's right. Kasha said that his friend is 50 miles north of us. They're probably holding other hostages. That's right. There are four others. We've all been so terribly treated. There's pirates. No respect for life. We really have to hurry. There's no telling what they'll do to the others. They weren't as lucky as me to have been found by you, you know. Don't worry. We're going to find your friends. Your name is? Sinclair. Sinclair or so. You'll need to hurry. I overheard the pirates talking. They're going to make landfall soon and have plans to sell the others to human traffickers in pieces, I'm afraid. It's just God's. Jesus. That's horrible. We got to get them. Of course we will. Abby lay in a course for a northernly heading. Full throttle. Tully, the scarab is faster than the Invenios and Manohal. I could use it to at least gain ground and keep the other ship in our sights. That's a good idea. I'll go with you. I think I should go with you as well. There's people, the others. We've become quite close. With respect, Sinclair, are you sure you're up to it? Oh, yes. I know. I look a bit worse for where, but being from Leviathan keeps you fit. I understand. And thank you, Sinclair. We're lucky to have you. I really don't know about that. We need to get a move on. We're losing time. Gibson, get the scarab ready to launch. Yuki, go with him. McAllen, Sinclair and I will meet you down there. Yes, Chief. Right away, Chief. Hey, you sure about this, Oberlin? You sure you don't want me to tell me? We both know you're running on a half tank after that nap you took in the H-AX. You don't need to stay here and let Abby take the helm. I guess you're right. McAllen and I will stay in radio contacts. Be careful out there. Don't worry, Tully. I got Oberlin's back, and I'll make sure he stays safe. What about my back? Just get some rest, Tully. We have to do something. Do something. Over 50 miles away, a desperate conversation was being held in the humid, locked hold of the pirate fishing trawler. Sinclair, Tim. I can't believe Sinclair. That word... What would you have us do, Archie? We're locked down here in the hole. There's only one of her and four of us. We have numbers on our side. Tell that to Edward. Please don't say his name. Serena. I'm so sorry. Archie is right. He's right. We need to do something. What? What do you suggest? She has guns on deck and other weapons I saw. Grenades, rifles, terrible things. What do we have? Tactics, that's what. We need to establish a choke point. Something that forces her into a constricted space. This is a fishing boat. Not a battlefield. I understand Cecilia, but the concept is the same. If we can get her to open the hatch, then maybe we can surprise her. How exactly do we do that? Look down. The four hostages look down and saw a large metal panel recessed into the floor of the cabin. We're locked in the hole, but a how to forgot about the floorboards. The in-board engine is right below us. Archie, give me a hand. I see it. There's a grip panel here. Here we go. I got my side. Together, they were able to lift the floor panel off and expose the inner workings of the ancient diesel engine, allowing vapors and smoke to invade the cabin. Oh, come on. Yes. That's it. That doesn't mean I'm doing the death. Yeah. I'm the smallest thing, and I couldn't even fit inside there. We're not trying to squeeze in. We're going to squeeze something out. Do you see that coolant hose over there? Let's grab a hold of it. Things are about to get a lot hotter in here. Here we go. Here we go. Siserly and Archie stood defiantly in the hole, gripping a black hose still connected to the trolley's own town. You disgusting motorer! You killed him! As a huddle reeled backwards, Serena and William spawned into the depth of a town. A huddle swung wide and knocking William backwards. I swear I'll make you pay. You're paid for what you did! UGH! UGH! I'll cut your tongue, your heart and your eyes before giving you back to this... Serena saw the knife and knew to get behind her poem, to be placed in our bottle for a huddle's windpipe and squeezed as tightly as she could. TEMPTAY! It's not of this! Serena's grip loosened and a huddle snatched up the collusionic of rifle and pointed it at Serena. Time for you to die! You can't do this! You can't do this! You need to stop! Stop! With all his strength, William brought down a heavy plank of wood on a huddle's arm, knocking her rifle to the ground. The imposing woman fired her fist to blow her toe, instantly knocking him unconscious. This is better! I want to kill you with my own hands! Yes! Did you hear that? It's an engine and another boat! No one will save you! Hold the lock, Serena! Get ready to chop over! What are you doing? Ready? Go to cash into the mill! The stop came racing up alongside the trawler, violently crashing into the starboard side, leaving a gaping hole in the side of the fishing boat. Oberlin leapt onto the deck and rolled to its feet. Let her go! What the hell are you? Oberlin quickly looked around him and snatched a huddle's fallen AK-47 off the deck. My name's Oberlin St. Claire and I've got to gun! Let her go! Now, I get all the others out from below deck! Lady, I'm only going to say this once! A hot-o-glare at Oberlin and McCallan, and then open the hatch door. Arty and Cecilia came rushing out to stand next to Serena. Are you all right? Are you okay? Did she hurt you? I'm fine. Now, we're all going to stay here until our ship, the Invenio, gets here. I'm happy to say that you all are getting rescued. Oberlin beamed confidently just until he felt a whole blade of steel pressing on his neck from behind. Actually, that's not exactly true. St. Claire! In fact, I'd say you were dead wrong. St. Claire, what are you doing? How's a woman or so? St. Claire is a traitor! What? He turned on us. He's working with the pirates! Is this true? I'm afraid that's correct. A huddle. A huddle stepped forward and grabbed the rifle from Oberlin. Get in the scarab, my dear. We need to make a hasty retreat out of here. Claire. They'll have reinforcements coming shortly. You can't do this. I assure you that you have absolutely no idea what I'm capable of doing. Leviathan was your home! Where are your people? My home! My people! No, no, McCallan. Leviathan is a failed state. It was already long dead when it flooded. What is it you want, St. Claire? I want my own people back. I'm done with a sanctumani of immortality and all that would preach it endlessly. I wish to live my life in the tangible on the surface. I am an eulucinian. My people may have been forgotten by history, but I promise you their day has not passed. You don't need to do this. Please. I may not know this world, it's true, but I will build a new nation. One that will control the levels of power in ways Leviathan never could. Please, St. Claire, don't do this! I'm not going to leave now. And I don't intend to place myself back under your thumb or that of anyone else. Sam, St. Claire, we must go now. I see that other boat. We have to hurry. Goodbye, McCallan. I hope you'll say that we don't need to gain. Zidlair now! A hoddo kept her gun carefully trained on the Invenios crew. St. Claire reported the scarab and cast off all the lines. And let's leave the Invenios with something to occupy itself. I don't wish for us to be followed. We need! Get the load jack! Boos! None of the grenade trap will penetrate at the hold, but instead blew away a large section of the trawler's stern, which was rapidly taking on water. Quick! Look for closure! The trawler was beginning to list heavily to one side and was well on its way to being completely underwater within minutes. McCallan's relief in seeing the Invenios approaching quickly off the starboard side was spoiled by her last sight of St. Claire and a hoddo speeding northwards in the scarab towards the horizon and completely out of sight. Back in Luhani, Salah stood in a pool of blood in the great room of King Bashir's compound. The former warlord now lay dead on his own couch with warm blood still oozing from his left eye. Salah stared down at the King's strange red cell phone that blended in almost perfectly with the crimson-stained rug. Hmm. Prisantama. I want to speak to the man in charge. Are you the owner of a pedal? I am the owner of the pedal. Now. Oh, no. Yes. Who is this? Am I speaking to the person that my uncle reported to? You are. Is this the consortium? Who is this? I think I have something you want. Hostages from Leviathan. Do you have them? No, we lost them. But I have what the hostages brought with them. Something valuable they wanted to protect and hide away from us. And I think it's something that you want as well. Who is this? Luhani is on fire and will be destroyed by sunrise. I want to be taken away. I want to join the consortium. I don't think you know what you're asking. I know that there's no reason a man as powerful as you would deal with someone like my uncle unless... ...unless he had something very valuable to offer. Now I also have something valuable. What makes you think you understand value to a man as powerful as me? Because the hostages we found would have rather died than let us discover their precious parcel. I have it now. And I think you want it as well. Who is this? My name is Salah. Captain Muhammad Salah. Well, Captain Salah, it appears we might have a great deal to talk about. The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The Do you know if he's alright? I'm sorry, but I can't tell you that yet. We're still taking a census and trying to identify who we have. And who we've lost? Yes. It's still being determined. Amir, I ask what our plan is going forward or is that still being determined? There are plans in place to rebuild. Rebuild. Rebuild what? Leviathan? This time in a different ocean? Rebuild our society and renew our mission. No, a mission. What mission? To protect against what might be coming for us, for everyone. Oh, that sounds ominous. And who's mission is that? Is that yours? What's that mine? You think it's not your problem anymore? The forces that brought down Leviathan still exist. You wouldn't want to live in the world they seek to create. I'd say it's everyone's problem. No, I think it's your problem. I intend to reclaim the time I have left on this earth. Um, I have a question. All eyes turned to William, the smallest and gentlest of the group who had been mostly silent since being rescued. Yes, William? What? What will happen when we start to age? You'll die eventually. We all die eventually. Yes, but that wasn't the bargain. We're dying now, slowly perhaps, but maybe long enough for you to see McCullen that it was all just a lie. Evangeline did everything she could. No one forced you to Leviathan Archibald. You made your own choice. Her choice based on a misguided belief. You know, they buried us. The first time we died, when Evangeline asked us to leave our lives, our families, literally everything to join her. I learned in decades to come that they held services for us. Now, when we die, no one will even care. We are working on a way to delay the aging effects. Who's? Who's working? I'm working. More grand plans and promises to be broken by the woman who looks exactly like Evangeline dead 500 years ago. Archie, McCullen came for us. She saved our lives. I don't think she came for us. I think she's collecting us. I wish you luck in whatever scheme you have in store for the poor survivors. I won't be part of it. You can leave me off in Paris. Archie. I want to go with you, McCullen. William? I still believe in Leviathan. I can't imagine why. Because we can see things that others can't. We've been alive longer than them. We've seen how every war ends, how every empire crumbles, how every revolution starts. We have an insight they don't have. We understand the nature of the human soul better than any mortal. It's beautiful, William. And I want to go with you to McCullen. At least to see if my husband is still alive. We'd be lucky to have you with us, Cecilia. When does the plane leave? In three hours. I wish more of us were coming. Archie has made his decision and it's his to make. I won't stand in the way. I... I didn't mean Archie. Serena... She lost someone. They killed him. Oh, goddess. I'm so sorry. Where is Serena? I think I saw her in the observation deck in the aft. Thanks. I need to speak with her. I'll... I'll see you on the plane. The Aft. Let me guess. Not all wish to rejoin Leviathan. How did you know? Seems to be going around. You saved them, you know. You saved them. I just did my job. Oh. I didn't know humility was a requirement for dark water service. Apparently, no. Just an ability to lie to yourself. And what lies that? That by being good at your job, you might be able to keep everyone safe. Mm. Astrid Ansler sent me your file. You were embedded for five tours on the surface. They weren't consecutive. Okay. But from what I've been told, being a darkwater agent isn't easy. You belong to Leviathan, but you also have to belong to the surface. I know that must make it hard to feel connected anywhere. Or to anyone. I know. His name was Edward, wasn't it? It was. I'm so sorry. I wish I could have. It wasn't supposed to be him. It should have been me. I know you are smart enough to know that is not how this works. I'll find them both. Sinclair and Netohotto. And when I do that, won't bring him back, Serena. Don't you dare lecture me about revenge. Don't you dare. He was a poet. A poet. Serena. I'm sorry, but I do need to ask you something. Sorax Parcel 826. I know you had it. Your PCOM said it was compromised. It was. I need to know where it is, Serena. I don't know. I lost it. One of those pirates took it. I lost everything. Serena. But I know I can find it again. I can get the parcel back. To do that, you'll need resources. We have a plane leaving in three hours. You and I and the others will connect to the rendezvous through Paris. And from there. I'm not going. I can't waste any time. I need to get to the mainland and get a flight to Mogadishu. From there, I can get transportation back to where they were holding us. Satellites show that the mercenary camp has been destroyed. Burn down. There's nothing there now. Then maybe I'll find a clue. Something. A trace. You're needed back in Hawaii with us. What I need is to do my job. The rest of them. Archie Cecilia. Sweet. William. They don't know what kind of world they're inheriting. But we do. We above the no finding that parcel is the only way Leviathan has any chance of coming back. Leviathan's not coming back. But if you find that parcel, there's a chance that we could build something better. All right, Serena. Tell me what you need. Welcome to the realms of peril and glory. McCallan Orsul crisply climbed the steps of the central staircase of the Inveneys. She entered the library and found Jeffrey Tully organizing a massive papers and maps at the long table in the room center. Hey. Hey. Did all your people get safely out? Yeah. Yeah, they did. You don't sound so sure. Well, it's not that. I'm just worried about Serena. She's obsessed with going back to Somalia to hunt down the parcel she lost. Do you think it's guilt or an excuse to go exact some revenge for what they did to her husband? I think it's more about just wanting something to do, some purpose, a job to make sure you're not alone with your thoughts too long. Yeah, I've been there. She's talented. Astrid said she was one of Evangelians' most trusted, dark water agents. I could really use the help of someone like her. Help with what? Restoring Leviathan. Rebuilding. You're talking about back under the ocean? The city? No, no. Tully, not that. It has to be something else, something new. The world changed ever since the missile incident. Everyone on the globe saw it and nobody has answers. There's a lot more instability in the world. I don't like the way you look at me when you say that. Don't you feel it? There's new threats in the world, Tully. It's like there's been something hiding under the surface. Waiting for Leviathan to fall. And now that it has, I feel a lot of tension out there. Yeah, I get that. But hey, we were able to get some of your people back. That's at least something, McCallum. It is. It is. You know, you have a good crew, Captain Tully. You better take care of them. Yeah, I'm pretty damn proud of them. So is this it? Uh, what? The Highland Rose? Oh, yeah. Yeah, that is she. I was just gathering up all my files together. You know, I really mean it. It's a good crew you have, Tully. It's a good ship. Maybe you want to think about being something other than a floating metal detector for stolen wealth? Man, you really know how to take the romance out of it. I'm just kidding, but seriously, I feel like there's a lot the inventos can do. Well, that makes two of us. Tully walked over to the desk in the library and picked up the thumb drive containing the schematics to the Highland Rose. He placed it in his backpack and put on the dark, maybe blazer that hung over his chair. I like your jacket, by the way. Thanks. Is that from the Taylor Harlequin sent you? As a matter of fact, uh, it is. Well, he has good taste. The Taylor or Harlequin? Uh, most seem to be pretty good at what they do. By the way, great photo in cigar aficionato. You recognize the jacket, right? I think it looks good, but Oberlin said I look too much like Hall and Oats. Like Hall or like Oats? He wouldn't say. But they got a nice photo on the cover, right? You should totally use it for your dating profile. Yeah, I thought about doing that. Yeah, I figured. But you know, I'm a little worried it's too showy. A magazine cover. You think it says too much? I think it says too little. Ah. A picture is only a thousand words. But a magazine cover. Woo! Especially one as prestigious as cigar aficionato. I'm worried I might come off as unapproachable. Maybe try wearing the pink sweater I gave you. Very funny. It is your color. Yeah. So what is the occasion, Mr. Bond? What do you mean? Well, apparently you only wear that blazer when posing for cover shots or dating profiles. So it begs the question. And what would that be? Is vanity fair waiting for you outside on the docks? Or do you have a date tonight? No. I'm not going out on a date. And believe it or not, French Vogue won't put you in my emails. So... Hmm. Then where are you going? Hmm. Just to see an old friend. You've got to be fucking kidding me. I swear, scouts honor. I did not pull into port in Madagascar to fuel up looking for the Hyland Rose. Tully sat on a quilted leather stool across from his ex-wife and looked around the Ravanala Club cocktail bar. Nice place. It's fine. Look, I know you, Jeffrey. And I know when you're full of shit. Jesus, it's been 20 years. You know you can just call me Tully. What are you doing here, Tully? Well, I saw the historical exploration ship in the Marina. Looking good, by the way, and figured I'd find you at the classiest R in town. Oh, so you just happened to be in Africa? It's actually kind of a long story. It usually is with you, Tully. I swear I'm not going after the Rose. I thought about it. I actually thought about it quite a bit, but in the end... In the end, you realized it would be a colossally stupid move, because I'm going to be the one that finds the Rose. You must want it pretty bad. How much do you know about it? We've been doing research for over two years. We're going to find it. And then you have tried. We'll take that chance. But I just want you to know that I'm rooting for you. I am. So what are you doing here, Tully? What if I told you that I came to give you a present? A present? Yeah. I think I'd tell you to go screw yourself, especially considering the last present you gave me was granting the divorce. I thought that was an awfully strong reaction to my leaving dirty socks on the radio. I didn't care about the dirty socks. I cared about the fire they started in the engine room of our ship. I'm sorry about that. That caused us to lose our last investor. That was my fault. Before you and Oberlin took off on a diving expedition in Croatia. I know I wasn't always the greatest husband. That brought back a rusted box full of worthless scrap. And I've been thinking that I'd really like to make it up to you. You just could never sit still and see what was right in front of you. What's that supposed to mean? It's not just about your adventures, Tully. Other people's dreams matter. So I'm asking you, Tully. Nicely. Stay the fuck away from the Highland Roads. Relax, Erica. I'm just here running sea trials. The boat still has gremlins. We're just doing some testing. Yeah. I noticed it looked pretty banged up. Didn't you, like, just buy it? Yeah. We hit some choppy seas, but the crew really stepped up. And I think our ship will go on to do some pretty great things. I'll give you credit for one thing. You're one of the most optimistic sons of bitches ever to set sea. If you want to be a treasure hunter, it helps to be a bit of a dreamer. Huh. Dream all you want. Just stay away from historical explorations. I don't want to get into a pissing match with you. The media would probably eat it up. Yeah, I've got kind of a conflicted relationship with the media. So we're clear. Look, Erica, I told you. I'm not going after it. We're just going to make some repairs and then I'm going to head home. Where's home these days? Well, I guess home is on my ship, the Invenios. Then it looks like you're already home. Hmm. Maybe you're right. Hey, I hope you find what you're looking for, Erica. I really do. And what are you looking for, Tully? Hmm. I'm not sure, but I think I might have found it. Well, I got to go. Wow. Already? Yeah. Hey, wait. Yeah? I thought you said you had a present for me. Oh, it's just a small one. Here. I want you to have my back. Uh, you're old. Back back? The one with the hole in the side? Yeah. I guess you could say it's a good luck charm. You know, for your hunt for the Highland Rose. Um, hmm. Uh, thanks, Tully. As always with you, I'm... You know, I'm not sure what to say. What's in it? Not much. Just some really, really dirty socks. Hi, this is Rob Benedict. And I am Richard Spate. We were both on a little show you might know called Supernatural. It had a pretty good run, 15 seasons, 327 episodes. And though we have seen, of course, every episode many times, we figured, hey, now that we're wrapped, let's watch it all again. And we can't do that alone. So we're inviting the cast and crew that made the show along for the ride. We've got writers, producers, composers, directors, and we'll of course have some actors on as well, including some certain guys that played some certain pretty iconic brothers. It was kind of a little bit of a left field choice in the best way possible. And we've got the right. We've got the right. We've got producers, composers, directors, and we'll of course have some actors on as well, the best way possible. The note from Krypki was, he's great. We love him, but we're looking for like a really intelligent, decovny type. With 15 seasons to explore, it's going to be the road trip of several lifetimes. So please join us and subscribe to Supernatural, then and now. The war is over and both sides lost. Kingdoms were reduced to cinders, and armies scattered like bones in the dust. Now the survivors claw to what's left of a broken world praying. The darkness chooses someone else tonight, but in the shadow dark, the darkness always wins. This is old school adventuring and it's most cruel. Your torch ticks down in real time, and when that flame dies, something else rises to finish the job. This is a brutal rules light nightmare, with a story that emerges organically based on the decisions that the characters make. This is what it felt like to play RPGs in the 80s and man. It is so good to be back! Join the Glass Cannon Podcast as we plunge into the shadow dark. Every Thursday night at 8 p.m. Eastern, on youtube.com slash the Glass Cannon, with the podcast version dropping the next day. See what everybody's talking about and join us in the dark. The End Back on the Inventos. Where is everyone? Overland! Abby! Yuki Gibson! Sheffie? Huh? Here we go. Him! Oh, no. Oh, no. Oh, no. Oh, no. Oh, no. Sheffie's thinking of us. Tell jokes. Oh, no. You've got to hear this. This is the dirtiest joke I've ever heard. Like no one put in load with the swords of the dark. What if everyone just fell? What if everyone fell? What if everyone fell? What if everyone fell? I'm sorry. I got to have to bleed in there. I'll reek of glad to know. I hear you, chef. I'm sorry. Don't worry. I'll fix it. God, I'm getting tired of these credence. Damn. I got to go. I got to go. I got to go. I got to go. I got to go. I got to go. I got to go. Damn, we're so close to having waffles. Here, Tully. Come down with me to the engine room so I can reset the circuit breaker. Oberlin grabbed a flashlight and guided himself and Tully down the central staircase of the inconvenience to the lower level of the ship. A few boxes over here near the cyclones right behind you. OK, which one is it? Sometimes I almost can't believe the ship is huge. You know? No, that's not that one. I mean, it's about a million miles from a hell marry. Ah, let there be light. Hey, nice job. At further record, yeah, sometimes I can't believe it either. Remnants and all, I'm pretty damn proud of our ship and our crew. You want to toast to it? Lead the way, my teaky brother. Tully turned the pressure dial on the cyclone engines to 1,010 psi and walked through the narrow passage that revealed itself. What's it going to be? How about a fog cutter? Oh, that's a good one. Let me see if we have any sherry. You know, we're going to have to do a lot more charters going forward. Ah, I hate doing charters. Why do you think we can do that? Because I've been taking a look at some of these builds we have coming up. Our triton drive and outriggers are cracked. Gibson needs a new rotor droid. The blue guy is going to have to be completely taken apart of reassembled to get re-certified, not to mention my car, Yerak. Hey, Sam, right? Do you know how hard it is to get parts for a 94 defender? Not to mention all the damage we took on the bridge. And up. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Are you saying our Orlando Cortez money isn't going to cover our nut? I'm saying that we need to start running the inventors like a business and not to private yacht. You mean not like the Hail Mary? No. Not like the Hail Mary. Does this mean we're going to have to start running booze cruises off of Cancun? I think we should use this opportunity to make repair as well as improvements to the ship. I've got some ideas that we can... Whoa, whoa. Before you start talking about tearing the ship apart, our very home. Let's have a toast. All right. To you, me, and the sea. Ha. To you, me, and the sea. Cheers. Cheers, buddy. Wait, wait, wait. I've got a better one. It's a family and crew and one of the same. Well, I'll definitely cheers to that. We've got a hell of a crew. You did a great job putting them together. Yeah, well, you were off to incentiveful shoots or whatever boozey nonsense you were up to. What are you talking about? You make it seem like I was on Oprah, actually. It would have been great to be on Oprah. Oh, it would have been tremendous. Well, I meant what I said before. We did a really great job bringing some really great people together. Even Sheffing, you're a hell of an engineer. And I think we're going to be quite a crew. I think you're right. I have to say they've come through pretty strong for us. Even though I have a feeling they didn't quite know what they were signing up for. That sounds a lot like us when McCallum sound us in Alaska. It's been quite a ride to get here. You could say that again. Bush. But what? I think we better get going on repairs sooner rather than later. Why is that? Let's just say I don't want a lot of time to pass before we're ready to set sail in our next adventure. How come? Because if everything McCallum was saying is true, she might end up needing a ship like the Invenios. If everything she's saying is true, I think the world might need the Invenios. To the Invenios. To the Invenios. Hey, you really think we're going to need the Invenios to save the world again? Well, it certainly saved us. Hey, we have back to those Belgians. Thank you for supporting Leviathan Audio and thank you for listening. That's Lake Zurich on the left. You can see the Alps in the distance. Your other quiet. You've barely spoken since we landed. It doesn't feel right. What? Switzerland. Casho should be here. He wanted to be free as well. Yes. His premature demise was regrettable. What? Did you say regrettable? I meant tragic, Erharder. Truly, I'm sorry. What language do they speak here? German French and Italian, but all the bankers at Swiss Trust will be speaking English. Good. I wish to speak to them myself. Of course, Erharder. But you do realize these are not the primary accounts. The funds we're about to withdraw are for leverage, not consumption. What are you talking about? That the actual dark water password. We won't be able to unlock the larger Leviathan accounts directly. Then have to use how the methods to gain access. But I'll need a very special, very powerful kind of computer to do it. So, do you know where we can access such a machine? I've been quite been making inquiries and I've been told of one in Perle. A hidden one. Ah, well here. Driver, use the private entrance please. Ah, good and dark. I'm Mr Maxwell. I'll be your account manager. Mr. Sinclair? Ms. Ahado, I presume. You presume correctly. Welcome to Swiss Trust. I trust you, Jenny, was pleasant. I'm afraid we had some delays at immigration that truncated our schedule. How long will this dick Mr Maxwell? I have everything arranged for you in the signing room. If you'll just come this way. Ahado and Sinclair followed Mr Maxwell through a tough-ded leather door, leading into a small, carpeted chamber that contained a desk with multiple piles of documents annotated for signatures. May I offer you some coffee? I've been known to enjoy coffee, Mr Maxwell. Ah, tea for me. Thank you. Felicity, could you? Of course, right away. The senior banker gestured towards the chairs, and Ahado and Sinclair took their seats before several stacks of documents. Well, the verification codes you provided, we were able to withdraw and close out the former accounts. I must say I was surprised to see accounts that were established more than a century ago. We come from a family of savers. Of course. So, in front of you is the documentation to set up new bank accounts here at Swiss Trust. And what is the total amount being transferred, Mr Maxwell? The total amount for the Dubai transfer is 190 million dollars. And once we set up these new accounts, we'll be moving the funds so that they can only be accessed and controlled by you and I. Exclusively. Stop. Just a moment, Sinclair. These accounts are not to be accessed by both of us. No, no, no, no, no. This is not our agreement. But Ahado, ah- Oh, you'll get your money. Plenty of money. But I manage the accounts. I make the decisions. The control of the accounts lives with me. Ah, of course, Ahado. So tell me again that you understand. I understand, my queen. Good. Leave us. Now, I would be happy to sign your documents, Mr Maxwell, in privacy. Ah, most certainly. Excuse me. Ah, alright. Mr. Ahado, let's start with these documents over here. This first pile is your account creation forms. Signature and data. It's awesome. Then over here. Oh. Oh, I'm sorry. Mr Sinclair, I just brought the tea and coffee for you and Mr Ahado. Ah, thank you. But I'm afraid Mr Ahado would prefer some privacy at the moment, while she finishes signing all the documents. Quite a lot. Paperwork to get through, you know? Really signing her life away. More than you do, my dear. More than you know. The Vython Audio Production. Legendary stories, awe-inspiring sound and endless adventure. There are vampires out there. They walk among you, shoulder to shoulder in the dark, heading to work, heading home, going to the bar. It's a life just like anyone else's and I have grown used to it to the darkness, to the moon, to the taste of blood on my tongue. But vampires are dying out. We are a fading kind and I am the first one created in so long and that is a dangerous thing to be. Those who came before me elders of all stripes they do not want to see are kind gone and they will do anything to keep their power. And for myself and for grace who created me that is a sword that hangs above our heads. And the worst person of all carries our secret and he will use it however he sees fit. Who do you look to when things are at their darkest? From the creators of Park Del Haude comes Whitbine, a podcast about monsters, dreams and changes, as you want and those you never saw coming. Season 2 arrives at 10th, 24th, distributed by Realm. The pilot of the Airbus Super Pruma glanced nervously at her helicopters to windowing fuel supply. She breathed a quick sigh of relief when she spotted the long gray super tankers through the low-lying bank of thick fog. The ship stretching over 300 meters long possessed a wide helipad near the bow where the Airbus put down. We are real down, Kris tight. Over. Look now, give the charge for it. Let's do it in the orders. Alright, I got the tail. Someone grab the front. Shep tight. That's a dog to help a thing off your arms secure. The Airbus door opened and two men held umbrellas for the single passenger who walked briskly off the landing pad. This way please. They're waiting for you inside. Thank you. Miss Samantha Ken, how nice to put a face to the name. I'm here to see him. Of course you are. This way, the sanctum is down several levels. His lordship had the ship's course altered to accommodate the fuel range of your aircraft. That's a rather rare occurrence. I was told this wouldn't take long. Wake up. She's arrived, my lord. Send her in. Mallor. Lord Mallor. Samantha Cal. Welcome aboard the Crypt Titan. I hope your journey was pleasant. Do you have what we discussed? A woman of few words. And you think I expected a diplomat? I've traveled a very long distance and time is a factor in our exchange. So forgive me if I seem short. Do you have what we discussed? You have doubt. My daughter has a very rare heart condition. And finding a donor heart would be next to impossible. It's not unreasonable that I might find your assurances to be unconvincing. And yet you came. Do you have what I'm looking for? You mean, do I have what you need? You're wasting time and I'm leaving. We've completed the construction and engineering of the implant based on the morphology reports and PET scans you provided us with. We have it. And how do I know it will work? Our doctor pincer is the world's foremost expert in prosthetic implantation and bionic modification. The quality of his work is assured. I've never heard of him. The doctor is deeply passionate about expanding the boundaries of human potential. But the nature of his work doesn't lend itself to the regulatory scrutiny he would face in the greater world. Well, what a good thing that the doctor found you. Yes, it is. And how lucky you found us. Did you bring what we need? Samantha dropped a black folder on the table between herself and Lord Mallor. It's a sight map of the globe with the last known locations of the extraterrestrial craft. For my intelligence, Leviathan doesn't seem to have found it yet. Now fortune it for us. First things first. Prove to me that you have it. Despite your charm, Samantha, Carol, I wouldn't have flown you 400 miles off the coast of Santiago if I didn't. I think you underestimate the value of my time. Would you like to see it? Does it work? Well, why don't we ask the good doctor himself? Send in Dr. Pinser. Dr. Thaddeus Pinser crisply entered the cryptitons innermost sanctum. He carried a black calfskin briefcase in his hand. Dr. Pinser. Lord Mallor. It's ready. I'm glad to hear it. Our guest, Ms. Cal, would like to see it for herself. The doctor eyed Samantha Whirly, then placed the briefcase on Lord Mallor's desk. She was opening it. He retreated back two steps. Samantha hesitated for a second before peering down at the gleaming metallic object embedded within the briefcase. Will it work? Mechanical hearts are among the most complicated of prosthetics. Luckily, we have a great deal of experience introducing foreign bodies into willing participants. Samantha grimmest as she thought about the alien-looking device being implanted in her daughter's chest. I highly doubt anyone is willing to have this thing installed in their chest. Congenital heart disease can be something of a catalyst for accommodation. I assure you it will. Well, your little girl will have the heart of a lion, much like her mother. Now, Samantha, do we have an agreement? What are you going to use the map for? Let's just say that I have a distinct interest in extraterrestrial archaeology. You didn't answer the question. I don't recall inviting you to question our affairs. My consortium has lived up to our end of the bargain, so I'll ask a final time. Do we have an agreement? We have a deal. I'll give you your precious map. Now give me my fucking heart.
