Summary
Kentucky Sports Radio Hour 2 focuses on Derek Johnson's critical social media posts about Mark Pope's coaching and player development, discussing the substance of locker room disconnect versus the appropriateness of public criticism. The show also covers portal recruiting updates, including a false crystal ball prediction, and features extended discussion of the Netflix series 'Neighbors' with producer Rick.
Insights
- Family members and relatives publicly criticizing coaching staff can damage a player's transfer prospects and recruiting narrative, even if the underlying concerns about coaching have merit
- Disconnect between coaches and players may be situational rather than systemic—Pope connected well with previous rosters but struggled with this year's group specifically
- Public figures with high credibility (former players, family of prominent athletes) amplify criticism virally, forcing media to address issues they might otherwise ignore
- Coaching staff communication gaps with fans and media create narrative vacuums that get filled by third-party criticism and speculation
- Player performance evaluation must account for both coaching factors and individual execution—attributing all struggles to coaching ignores on-court reality

The misconception about buying a home right now is that you have to wait for the perfect moment. Perfect rates, perfect timing, perfect market. The truth is, that moment doesn't really exist. A lot of buyers pause because of headlines or assumptions. But every situation is different. Race change, market shift and personal goals matter just as much as what's happening nationally. That's why talking to a local lender can be so valuable. When you contact a doctor, you get paired up with a local lender. That lender will give you your options. Text machine is 772-774-5254. Couple open lines. You can give us a shout. Folks right now, in Suspin Thrift, farms has over the years been connected to 9 to 10. They're winners. But that doesn't mean that they're all there like hanging out right now. See, told you. Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah. Very sassy today. I don't know what's been going on with you. Holly Rowe was the other one that deleted, excuse me, blasted UT Women's Basketball in a tweet and then she deleted it. Where she said basically, Danny White, the UTAD is essentially allowing women's basketball to die. But then she deleted it. That's crazy. Because like I said, I mean, you just think of women's basketball and that you call logo and the Tennessee logo with a little sky blue in there. You think of that brand. Yeah. I mean, in my, just in my brain, I think of like Pat Summit, Gino and Dawn Staley. And then that's the, that's the ones like those are the coaches. You going to Thompson Boy and Arena, all those banners up there for the women. There's none up there for the men. All those women. I heard you said that a lot last week. One person writes, Matt, I can't believe it as well connected as you are. You'd never heard of Tamara Tamara. We'll go with whatever. Tammy Gustafson. I'm a nobody and I knew who she is. Yeah, but I mean, you say connected. I'm not connected. I don't talk to that's a different circle people. I don't talk to anybody like I, I, I have my crew, but they're like, I don't run with the Lexington elite circle. Like basically if you've been in tops and Lex and you're not Maria Montgomery, I don't know. I know Maria and I think I was in there once. Like all the other people when they show people's homes and stuff. That's why I have such a hard time with basic task. Cause I don't know who to do it. Like designing a hat. Like, I don't know. People like, well, are you using Susie or using them? Like, I don't know the, how are you supposed to know these people? And they're like, well, did you see the work they did in Chevy Chase? What? So you gotta get out and Chevy Chase. Who knows that? You got Walker on Chevy Chase. I don't know anybody. I know worldwide. Todd Harris, he tries to fight people at games. I know Drew. Most of my friends are not in the, in culture. You know, I've talked about this. We can go to one of those rooms at Keeneland. Don't know anybody. Don't know a soul. I don't know anybody. But see, I like that because I think it has made it to where I can be pretty unbiased about everything in this state because I'm not friends with anyone. Not in online world, but it like, so Craig, I guess probably my most connected person is Craig, the mayor of Louisville. Yes. But I met him through wrestling. Like, I didn't think he was going to be the mayor. You met him in the same building that you met cash flow and I didn't expect Mr. Peck-Tacular to become the secretary of state. By the way, you see what he's doing this summer. He's on American gladiators. I can't wait for that. That comes out. Did you know that? And like, what spectacular is like the face of it? There's a new American gladiators and Mr. Peck-Tacular. See, that's the kind of, you want to get in with Mr. Peck-Tacular. You come with me. There we go. You got it. But if you're talking about like, I don't know these people. Craig is always like, we need to go to dinner with like the guy that runs UPS. I'm like, to do what? Talk about storage units. What am I going to talk to neighbors? Oh, that was mailing going. So anyway, I'd much prefer to just thank out with Drew, Ryan and Mario different tax bracket. Yeah. That's not, that's not my, uh, my bracket. All right. Someone else. I don't know, but Ryan knows is, uh, Derrick Johnson. Yes. So this is Jasper's uncle. Correct. Dennis's older brother played at Kentucky. For a cat. Yep. Uh, kind of took a shot at me. Well, he didn't say my name, but it was insinuated about me and fans and media last week. But essentially, what did he say last week? It was something like, uh, people were never fair to Jasper or something like that. I basically kind of his gist that he didn't get a fair shake and fans kind of. So I bring this up just because like, I mean, he posted this and this is made its way around the, the UK world and Larry Vaught retweeted it. So like, I think you have to talk about it. He posted this, this last night. I'll read it to you. So Jaylin low had kind of sent congratulations and Yays to people who were transferred. Right. So when, uh, when Brandon Garrison Jasper Johnson said they were leaving again, when you, when you have someone my age trying to interpret Instagram comments, it sounds so stupid. He was like, he wrote yay exclamation point. One of them was Yup. Yup. With a salute. Yup. And then salute. I mean, I don't know, but, but he wrote those and people were kind of like, why is he cheering on people leaving the program? I mean, my read of that is they're his friend, like people he knew at school. Like he's like, go do your thing. Good luck. Even me saying that. So go do your thing guy. But their brother's in the locker room. They're supporting each other. That's right. So, so some people online were criticizing Jaylin low for that. So here's what Derek Johnson post last night. The question is why J. Low posted what he did. It's simple. Y'all love blaming 18 to 21 year olds for the season, but if Kentucky is Camelot, the greatest place on earth, why is everybody leaving coaches too? Let me spell it out. Leadership. And that's all in caps. Kids chasing their dreams. Don't just want hype. They want to be coach developed and understood. Now Mo has gone too. At some point you have to stop blaming the kids and start looking at the source. Mark doesn't connect with these young men. Maybe Colin, but that's about it. It's a different era and he's not speaking their language. And let's be real. Name one game we came out ready to dominate from the jump. I'll wait, but nah, keep blaming 19 year olds. Say they want too much money. Truth is you're mad because they're making more than you. We live in a capitalist society. If it was your kid, you'd want every dollar and every opportunity to. So essentially just puts Mark Pope on blast. I mean, that one's not even about fans. That one's about Mark Pope says basically Mark Pope can't relate to the players. Now your friends with Derek. I don't know Derek. I know he got frustrated at me, but I don't know him. He played at Kentucky. He has repeatedly now taking shots at essentially everything to do with Kentucky in the last couple of weeks, the fans, the media, the coaches, the administration. I mean, Derek is basically if you're anything having to do with Kentucky, you stink. That's been his position over the last couple of weeks. It's just a fact. I'm not trying to. I'm just reading what he says. I've always had the view with parents and Derek is his uncle. It's not his parents. I don't know why they do this. You've now just met you. You are only hurting the kid when you do this because now this is going to get associated with Jasper, a kid who seems like a great young man. But he said it and he is an uncle and a very prominent former Kentucky player. So what do you make up? Like I said, I've known Derek a long time. I can serve him a friend and we've had phone conversations about this. And I think he doesn't mind me saying, I've told him, I said, dude, you know, be careful, tread lightly. But I think he's there hurt. They're just hurt that it not only think this helps. No, no, but does he think it helps? I mean, obviously I don't think it helps, but I'm not sure. I mean, I'm sure we'll have a conversation the next day or two. And I think he knows he wants the best for Jasper. But I think this is not the right way to go about it. And I'm not going to help. No. And I think, you know, when I tell him that he'll probably down in his heart agree. It is the Johnson family. It means a lot to this state, the city of Herzberg, city of Lexington, UK. And I just hate it that it's come to this. Yeah. I mean, this isn't like unique to Jasper. Anytime a relative or a parent starts firing off like this, it's just not a good look. Like you said, it falls on the kid. Now Jasper is going to be looking for another school. Who's to say the coach won't pull up a Facebook thing and be like, am I going to have to deal with this when you're here? Because this is part of this is part of Jasper's story now. And what I mean, he's done it all year. There's even a post where he said, Pope clearly doesn't like Jasper's game. I mean, he's kind of been on this for a while. And while I don't disagree with his point in a lot of ways, it's just when Jasper's saying nothing and even Dennis is saying nothing, but the uncle is just firing stuff off. It's just, you don't want that to be your only messenger speaking on behalf of the kid. All right. So put aside, I agree with all that. Let's see. So put aside whether Derek should have written it. What about the substance of what's in it? Mark does not know how to motivate these kids. None of the players except Colin connected with this for me in the outside. Looking in, I think it's fair to say there was a disconnect this year. I don't know what caused it or what it was, but it just seemed like there was a little disconnect between the coaches and the players. I agree. And I. Derek Johnson or Jasper would know more about this than I would. So it's hard for me to criticize the substance. I can criticize whether he should have done it, but the substance, I mean, I can't say because I'm not in the locker room. I do think though you can't help but go. Oh, somebody saying this is worrisome. Now at the same time, I would say Jasper wasn't good and I, and I hate to say that because he's a kid, but at some point we also have to acknowledge what we saw on the court, right? When, when he went in most of the time, the team was not as good. So to some extent, I don't know what you expect Mark Pope to do. Just keep playing him. But now on the motivational side, that probably is happening before the games. And maybe I don't know if what Derek says has substance or not. Drew. Yeah, the locker room stuff. I'll admit when you see that you're like, man, I mean, he would know, you know, like I, I just really should be posting it at the same time. I'm not just throwing it away like he's making it up. And a lot of things he said about Jasper's game. I agree with a little bit. It's just the post wasn't good. And I don't, I don't know why I am a huge believer that these are kids even making money. They are kids. You shouldn't write them. You shouldn't be angry, but on some level you are signing up to play basketball at Kentucky. There is going to be conversations about how you play. And I don't know how you can't expect that people are going to go. He came in the Iowa State game played 83 seconds and we were minus nine. Like, what are you supposed to say? Yeah, cause he's, he's, I believe he's better than that. It just didn't work. We all believe that too, but it didn't happen. We're just reacting to what we saw. We're not trying to judge him overall. And I don't see how it helps that as you're walking out to the goer to go, it was all Mark Pope's fault. Right. Because maybe some of it was Mark Pope's fault. Maybe most of it was, but the fact is what happened happened. Mark Pope is not what made him not be able to get through ball screens or just dribble it up and turn it over or miss a third. Like some of that is, you know, that's why this is such a big year. You got to prove to all of us in the locker room. And I want whatever school he goes to, I want him to kill it. Yeah, I'll be rooting for him. If he goes to Alabama, do your thing. I hope when you're not playing us, I hope you go off. But I just don't know how this helps especially and there's a part of it because this dude went to Kentucky. He played here. Like a royalty around here. His brother was one of the highest rank recruits to ever come here. One of the best defensive players we've ever had. One of the best defensive players we've ever had here. And I and his dad is one of the legendary high school coaches to ever be in this state. Thanks. So I don't know. I don't think this helps. I wish we didn't have to talk about it, but like it's the problem is when you, when you're him and you do it, it's going to be out there and he knows it. At this point, he knows that. Yeah. Oh, because it's gone viral several times. So he's intentionally making the decision to do this. It's like, it's like when Jane Quaint's dad was posted. Like, you know, people are going to read this. So and when you pull back the curtain and get it, take us in behind the scenes in that locker room, you've got to be careful what you say. Yeah. And the stuff that's over the top and cruel and they're no excusing that, but at some point you're trying to go to the NBA. People are critical of your game. If you want to be a one and done, okay, you go to the Knicks. You think New York fans are just going to be patting you on the back all the time. You gotta have a fit skin in this game. Go look at any conversation about Cam Booser or Darren Peterson or AJ or Tyron Stokes. Look at, I mean, like you're not above these critics. Like that's what you sign up for. So Bob and James. Bob. Yeah. Yes. Matt, I got a comment about portal and also last last Monday I offended your man. The guy in the barber shop offered me a considerable amount of money to ask you a question about your sexual orientation and I wouldn't. I wouldn't. I didn't want to discuss it, but you just, you realize you just did. Yeah. I mean, you realize that like by saying that you essentially just did. Well, no, I thought of myself and I respect your mother. She's a great lady. I wasn't even going to go there. Anyway, you think I'm gay? Is that what you're saying? I'm not. I'm not. I'm not going to come out. I don't think I'm a considerable amount of money. I hope you get the money. I'm not. No, no, no, no, no one's about money. Anyway, but this transfer report. There's no loyal. I gotta go. I appreciate the call. He's he held an hour for that. Did he get them? He asked the question without getting the considering money. He lost completely. What kind of barbershop is this? Yeah, he lives in Jamestown. Oh, narrow it down. Do they do a lot of do they play gay or not gay in the Jamestown barbershop for money and several amount of money? There's like a bounty on you at the James Town barbershop. He defended your honor. They did he? So he said I didn't sound like it. Oh, it defended your manhood. That's what he said. I didn't do that. Maybe just in the barbershop. Welcome back. It is Kentucky Sports Radio. Final four is here and so is prime time for your skin. You're gonna be outside sunshine. Skin cancer is the most common cancer in America and also one of the most preventable go to skin Kentucky Skin Cancer Center. They have full body skin checks. The best offense is a great defense. And if I could give Dr. Skaggs and his staff 10 stars, I would. That's what somebody wrote on the reviews just this week. So go to the Kentucky Skin Cancer Center five locations across Kentucky Owensboro, Bowling Green, Franklin Glasgow and don't forget powder Lee call two seven oh eight four two nineteen ninety nine or Kentucky skin cancer center dot com. The reviews are in for Bob's call. Person writes I have been to that Jamestown barbershop and I know the guy that works there. I don't think that was the conversation. But Bob defended your manhood. I don't even like you saying those words. I think manhood just not a word. I want to hear you say one person writes Matt. I was in the restroom and I sat down and I had my earbuds in and then the man someone came into the stall next to me and was listening to you on speaker phone and it felt like we were sharing a moment together even though we didn't speak. It was nice. I love that. KSR the radio show of bathrooms across Kentucky. Well, I think it was maybe I was hosting a post game show, but my best friend was the Atlanta airport and he texted me said I'm washing my hands and the stall behind me is your and Matt's voice just coming out from someone's cell phone. So maybe maybe we're big in bathrooms. Maybe we are. All right. We got a lot of people on the phone. So let's let's do a few of these. Let's go to Rob. Go ahead Rob. I just want to make a comment on Deedon Collins. I looked up his injury. It was scarred his dad said he took a bad step. He's got scar tissue is removed. I would not take the kid. I mean, if I took him, he was my second choice in that he would be a backup point guard. He's not coming to be a backup. So he's not. He's not coming to be a backup. So the question go ahead with what you're saying, but that won't happen. Well, I just just say with my experience, how do we with post experience, my experience as a physician, I wouldn't take him. So you're a physician and is there something about the injury that would make you worried it would happen again? Well, it says it's scar tissue scar tissue can reoccur. We everything I looked up was non specific. So what's the plan or fasciitis that he do something? We don't know what he did in his foot, but if it's if it's scar tissue, then scar tissue can reoccur. I don't think it's worth Mark Pope's job again. A gamble. I understand that. Okay. Appreciate the call. Jacob, go ahead, Jacob. Hey guys, I got a comment and a quick question with the with Pope saying that he had a summer tournament. Does that, you know, like speed up the process of him trying to throw together a roster? I really don't want to summer tour or whatever that we're doing. You know, he's going to have this roster within three weeks anyway. I would think so. I think the fact that they, you know, the summer thing allows them to, well, they get to practice now anyway. So really it doesn't, it's just a chance to play some games. So no, I don't really think it has much of an effect. Okay. And I got a million dollar idea instead of neighbors. You make a show called roommates and you and Ryan Lemon live together. Yeah, that's not. And come on. That's not happening. No, I'm sorry. I appreciate to call. That's not happening. Speaking of roommates, my old roommates going to be back here Thursday. Max. Max is coming in. He's coming on the show Friday too. He doesn't know that he's coming, but if he wants a place to stay, he's going to, he doesn't always come to America. He doesn't always come. I don't think he knows. He's coming to show. He, I, me and him and Miles are going to see Kings of Leon Saturday. Oh, I don't even care. Max loves, he loves, he loves his favorite band, but I will say there are very few things that entertain me more than a night with Max and Miles. Those two dudes are hilarious. Especially after they. So I, they were like, let's hang out Saturday night. We'll go to Kings of Leon and I was like, oh, hang out with Max and Miles. Yes. Concert Kings of Leon, but I decided I would go. Be good to see him. I don't think I know one Kings of Leon song. Rick, will you play whatever the first Kings of Leon song is on the, in the system when we come back? Sure thing. All right. That way I can hear what I'm going to hear Saturday night Nathaniel. Go ahead and fan. Hey guys, just wanted to, just wanted to touch on the, the Derek Jasper job thing real quick. Um, obviously, like you all said, can't really refute anything he's saying because we're not in there and I'm sure that they have a lot more, uh, insight than we do. However, I don't know if I would agree with his old, he can't connect with, with these kids because I don't seem to recall a whole lot of locker room issues from the previous year. Um, seem like everything went pretty well there. So could have just been. Yeah, I agree with that. I mean, it may be for whatever reason. It may be just he couldn't connect with this group for whatever reason. Exactly. That's that was kind of my point. Maybe these guys for whatever reason, like you said, couldn't connect with them, but I don't know if this is some bigger issue that we need to be concerned with about both. But yeah, I appreciate the call. You know, I don't know Drew that anyone connect can connect with every type of person. Right. I think you're not going to convince me he didn't connect well with Lamont Butler, Mari Williams, Andrew Carr, Jackson, Robinson, Kobe Bryant. I mean, it feels like he definitely did with that group. Yeah. I mean, Jackson Robinson followed him from BYU. Yeah, that's right. Jackson Robinson came from BYU. So and then, uh, in the post he kind of mentions like all these guys are leaving. Well, some of them are leaving because they're going to get paid a lot more money. It doesn't necessarily mean that didn't work out. I mean, maybe it didn't work. Like, at least Diabatae, I know very much considered stay. I think the money thing didn't work out, but it wasn't just like he was like, I'm out of here. Got to get out of here. You know, I'm out of here. I don't know about Garrison and I don't know what that was, but Diabatae at least that I mean, there were conversations about staying so it wasn't just like get me away from this guy. So yeah, but not everybody connects with everybody. You know, I agree with the color. I think it would just disconnect in some capacity this year. Yeah. All right. We'll take a break. Rick, you got Kingsley on ready to queue up, right? And are you ready to talk about neighbors? Oh, I can feel it. Next slide. We'll be right back. It's chaos. No, so what's this song called Rick? This is called Super Soaker by Kings of Leon. I haven't heard of this one. That they, I think people say I will have heard of the song. Sex on fire. Do you have that one? Your sex is on fire. Let me see here. Hang on. I'd like to use somebody. You know, you somebody to. I think I've heard of that one. How's that one go? Don't make me sing it. Yeah. You just know that you can use somebody. Yeah. You. So okay. Yes. Play that one. Use somebody. Is that what it's called? He actually I think found a deep cut here. They've got a lot of it. I don't know why you got this one. I don't know this one as well. Apparently they're okay. What are you playing here? Okay. You somebody. Here we go. You. This is this one. Here we go. All right. Hey, here we are. Okay. I know this song. Yes. Yeah. Okay. So I will hear this. Apparently they're opening up for Zach Brian. So that means I have to listen to Zach Brian. A big Zach fan. See three times. Where's this concert at? I think YUM Center. Okay. Well, yeah. I'd be there if not for the incoming child. I even was like, hey, we could just sneak off to the Zach. Well, I'll have to be there for the opening act. I know. And then they probably want to leave and go to Molly. Or what? I don't even know what the what are the bars in Louisville now? Oh boy. I don't even know. I don't even know. Like they've got, I guess the ones when I drive by because it's not far from my house. I still see a lot of people at the one. Molly Malone's actually doesn't have people. The one across the street, the other Irish one. Yeah. There are people still at that one. What's it called? Man, I used to know this stuff. It's been sold. Is Solie still there? That was a thing. Solie's is still there. I don't think so. Every time we go to the I Heart Studio, the one across the street, this is going to drive me crazy. I didn't go to that one much. I was not a surprise here. I want to be somebody. Let me know. Seven, seven, two, because that'll drive me crazy all day. Seven, seven, two, seven, seven, four, five, two, five, four. The text machine. We have some breaking news, Rick. We have our first crystal ball prediction to UK for someone in the portal. Although I don't know who gave it, but usually when you get those people tend to feel confident. Magoon. Gwad. Oh, oh, oh. That's a name. You're saying it. I was late. Predicted to Kentucky. Now remember, we thought he was coming here last year. He helped. He was the Mountain West defensive player of the year this year. And I think he was first team all defense of the year before. And there is a prediction in the crystal ball for him to Kentucky right now. Maybe just a year later. May smart popes thing. He goes after him. Year one doesn't get him. Comes back. Gets him the next year. This is big for scoop. I still have the screenshot ready to go. If you commit scoop last March tweeted Magoon eyeball eyeball eyeball. I did you. Did you you tweeted that last March? This is one of Ryan's you need to be ready to retweet that. Okay. Just say you were so early. You were just so early that you were a year early. Like that was I'm gonna say that was the plan all along to lock him. No, no, just go like told you told you. I have I think it was March 25th, 2025. Ryan tweeted Magoon eyeball eyeball. You can say I didn't say it was for this year. Yeah, I'm gonna carry away. Give us another year. I was talking about next year. So Wilkerson to come. I don't remember much about that kid except I remember he could block a lot of shots right in the yeah. Yeah. Well, we could use it. I mean, I'm good with that. I want it just for Ryan more than I want him from the actual basketball stand. Rick, are you ready before I go the phones? I'm already I just want your unfiltered. No nonsense. What did Rick think of neighbors? Episode six. I kind of felt sorry for Danny. He tried that old coot tried so hard. So they can call him that to get Amanda. Well, I'm an old coot too. So, you know, okay, I don't I don't ride my exercise bicycle out in the drive. So what do you think about the fact that he was like wanted to be nude in his seventies all the time? Well, I guess he was trying to be contemporary. Well, I don't know a lot of new people that are out doing. Would you want to live in those communities? Probably not. No. Yeah, I don't think so either. So you kind of felt sorry for it. Yeah, he tried so hard. I mean, she was probably half his age. Yeah, I mean, he was buying her shoes and said they've come live with me and she just did to seem like she was into them too much. I think that's probably fair. Were you a little shocked by all the nudity? Yeah, it's a lot of well endowed people there. Whoa. Okay, Rick, I didn't expect you to go there. All right. Well, good. There you go. Um, what about the texting Rick when he wouldn't stop texting? There's a lot of texting like you can't do more than like three without a response, right? Yeah, he was getting a little say I kind of felt sorry for him. I did too. I had to start. I had to look away. Yeah, he just kept. I'll be honest with you. Yeah. I was right. I had to look away and when he kept sending text, I kind of that was the only time in all six episodes. I was like, I can't come on, Rick. I'm sorry, Rick, Jerry, stop. Of all the moments in that, that's the one time you looked away during that episode. I looked away a few times. I did look away at some other things too. I was odd. Like the whole what the most shocking thing to me was that that community exists, but there are people like m m mowing. It's the naked like, you know, they're not just like, like they're doing yard work. Everything. Everything like that is. I cannot imagine. Wanting to do that or having the self confidence to do that. And then the people that have the self confidence, there wasn't one objectively attractive person there. Not one. Men or there was no one attractive. One guy looked like Santa Claus had the big beard, big belly. That was one of the best bellies I've ever seen roundest belly maybe ever. They just go and hug each other. When they do, did you notice though? I did notice this. They do have some they hugged, but moved apart from each other. The middle school dance move. They left a little space. I didn't notice when they would hug, they would still be like, OK, and nobody can sing karaoke. It's your takeaway. I can sing karaoke. I felt sorry for Danny. They're trying to get through. Take it easy. It was a struggle. Well, yeah, karaoke. Can you imagine going to old person naked karaoke? And that one woman left her college campus to go to it. What? Like UCF, not like some little small school. You think they have karaoke around there? I was like, what? What? And then she's a rapper. That was a curveball. Oh, yeah. Shake. Was it shake? And I like that he tried to act like he liked it for her. Uh-huh. You love her. Yeah, he put his old man glasses on just to see that music video on her telephone. He did put his glasses on his old man glasses. His old man glasses. Ryan, you did you enjoy it? I found a new future career for me. You know, the realtor was the realtor of the news, but the realtor got to keep her clothes on. See, I could do that. Oh, you want to be the realtor and the newt is and my niche is naked people. I think I could kind of carbonation that. Please don't. Uh, well, who knew that existed? Show as a whole. Love it. Yeah. But there were parts where I'm like, we got to quit putting crazy people on television, but you just couldn't look away. Why? Some of them just like they need they need to seek some actual professional help, but I couldn't look away. What about the senator, the former Texas state senator and the woman with the wall? He looked like the old man on South Park. I didn't think that was that bad. I mean, it was big, but he was he was compared to a compound. Why do people care so much about people having a wall? Like it really bothered him. But what? Why? Yeah, didn't he compare it to like him? He thought it was a cartel wall, which by the way, he's not wrong about that. Have I told, have I said on the air the story about going to the guys house in Mexico? I don't think so. I think so. That's a long story. I don't really have time to do it. But one time I, when I was, you remember, I went to Mexico City is for a wrestling thing. Yeah. Yeah. I went to Mexico City to meet with the owners of a wrestling company about maybe doing a partnership. We were going to do wrestlers, Mexico. Right. I remember that. And so I went to a Mexican wrestling show, right on the main Mexico military base in Mexico City. So it was all Mexicans and me. I was it. And I'm serious. I was the only, I had to get special clearance just to be allowed in, right? Get in next day. I go to meet the guy and he gives me the address and I get in an Uber and like it's taking me to a neighborhood where you're like, Oh, you know, I'm like to the Uber guy. Like this good. This, this can't be where this is, right? Cause his dude's wealthy and then he was like, this is it. So I said to the guy, like stay right here. You know, I'm knocking doorbell and he's got one of those walls like crazy. How it was like the wall in the show. And then he opens the gate and it's like paradise like pools, palm trees, but across the street. Like, and it's kind of how that looked except that woman seemed nuts, but you know, and then it was like you were in paradise and then I left and I went back to the part of Mexico City. I felt safer. And you're about to have property. You're going to build one of those walls. Apparently you can't and the guy won. So did she had to tear down her wall? She did a couple feet of it at least. Yeah, that episode when it started, I thought the older senator guy was going to end up being the crazy one and she was going to be the normal one. So you thought he was rational? I at first I thought he was going to end up being crazy because I thought he was a little paranoid about the fence and stuff. But then as the season, then as this episode went on, it kind of flipped. I love the show. I think it's great. And Rick, I appreciate you watching the last episode. I'm glad to hear what you got out. Well, I got sucked in so much. I watched three other ones too. So also you like it. Yeah, it's pretty wild. Good. What was your, which, what was your favorite? I think out of all the ones that I saw, probably the one where that one guy was had a farm on his front lawn with chicken. It's episode two is the best. Yeah, I have so too. That was funny. Do you think people should be able to have a farm in their suburban yard with like pigs and that's gross. Well, the neighbors kept complaining about the smell of everything. If that's the one where I feel like the neighbors had the best arguments. Yes, me too. Right. Like you cannot have a farm in the middle of this neighbor. And then he doubled down and ordered more animals at the end to just make it even bigger. Yeah. That was the one where I was sited most with the neighbor. And that was just like barely outside of Indianapolis and that guy's just got animals running wild in the summer. Oh, that was gross. Can you imagine how stinky that would be? Shady raises basically the same quality as $200 sunglasses that you may be buying. I'm not exaggerating. They're just, they feel just as premium. They work just as well. And you know what? We'll take a break. Be right back. KSR. Welcome back. It is Kentucky sports radio. I got God. It looks like on the Magoon. It was from last year. See this way. I got to be careful because people now clearly like want to send a message to get me. So like that's going to be a shame because we've gotten such good scoop from from the text machine and that one. I guess that was an open so so retract the breaking news. And now I'll just have to. It stinks because that's good. There's good stuff that comes from there. But now I'm going to have to be more careful. So good lesson. He did enter the portal though. Right. Yeah. And he's still cheering for the Ryan tweet. Well, he could end up here. And if he does, then I'll just act like. Yeah. We do like Ryan. You're right. You're not being the same boat. We both will have had breaking news. Here we go about my goon. My goon. I should not when I do that. I'm not going to be like that. Goon. I should not when I didn't see the name. I should have. See, I'm usually better on that. Well, now I've learned it's wild up there on the internet. These wild internet. Hey, yeah. Hey, these fake journalists on Twitter where they have a guy like a suit names like Richard West. Now I'm pretty good at not falling for those. I think I fall in for it once everyone always falls for that same guy. Yes. What's the one guy they all fall for? Is it the West and then there's a there's a fake John Rothstein people left and right. Right. He's all for that one. Yeah. Yeah. But I will say those are more understandable to me than Colin Chandler is donating his car to cars for kids. Otega Owe painted reparino for his Boy Scout project. Did you see that one? No, that was not. I just made that one up, but it's probably out there. It'll be out there soon. Can we before they lose because they'll probably lose tonight because they're playing a good picture. The Reds four and O to start the season on the road. First time since 1990 where I believe they won the World Series. They did. They have the I think the fewest run scored in baseball and the fewest runs allowed, which makes their games not exciting but fast. Long as you wouldn't, but they're seven and three third best record in baseball. How about that teams have a better record the Dodgers and the Yankees or excuse me Dodgers and the Brewers. And then we're third. They swept the Rangers and they won their first game last night in Miami Marlins. Yeah. Who's pitching tonight? Abbott, but we're playing it. We're pitching that guy. They're playing the Alcantara. The guy tomorrow and have it so good. I'm through really well. The game we saw opening day. He's had to go up against what crochet schemes and now this guy. So he's had a tough. Uh huh. What happens when you're the happens when you're the ace and your other guys got a stupid blister. Riley, go ahead. Riley. One. Go ahead. Um, so I just have, I have a couple questions or I have a question in the comments. So first question is what is your all like dream portal class maybe like three, four guys. And then my second thing with the Thomas Junior guy from LSU. I don't know. I mean, I like this game, but I mean, Pope, like, what are we doing getting another injured point guard like in year three? Like you've had two, two back to back years and it just seems like we're, he really wants that lefty point card too. I don't know. I still lefty point guard. I appreciate the call. I mean, I think his, you know, his argument probably would be well, Butler didn't have a history of injury. He still got injured low had an injury, but it wasn't the one he got, but he got it. You know, so I guess it's, but I, I get why people would be worried about it, but I would like to be able to answer that question for you, but they don't talk to anybody right now. So it's hard to know what they're thinking. I have, I have said to the folks at UK, whether it's me or someone else, you all need to be communicating a message to people so that fans understand where the coaching staff is coming from, but they just don't believe they need to do that. And I generally have found in history that when coaches do that, that does not work out. That's how generally speaking, when, when coaches get quiet, that's rarely a good idea. Sometimes it works. It worked for Cal sometimes. Cal would kind of go in and out of talking, but it just rarely works, but I hope it does. I mean, hopefully as far as what's your class wants, we need a great point guard. We need a couple guys who can score and a couple of bigs. And there you go. And hopefully Stokes, even though still not optimistic about that one, but not over yet. So we're worried all that there's still like an open assistant coaching job. I mean, we're, we're going at this with, you got to feel like though they have someone working one, you still would like to have a full team. Pat, go ahead, Pat. Balls are talking about as Oshay across trick of Molly. Oh, Shays. That's right. Oh, Shays. Yes. Oh, Shays is the one that still gets a lot of people. Yeah. They get a lot of younger people, but Molly's still a good bar. Don't downplay Molly. Hey, I just anyway, going back to your thing, you always talk. I mean, again, I just moved back into town. I'm finally following you. Like I used to. Hey, to Louisville, but the coolness. Let's, let's submit it. I call it a. Pope has no coolness factor to it. I mean, he's not cool and the sale of younger players on our program. I mean, even Dan Hurley, I don't like him at all. I think he's an idiot, but he's got something to him a little it. No, I actually think that's a very, and I might cut you off because it's the end of the show, but I have to tell you, I think that's a valid point. I'm going to talk about that tomorrow because I do think that's important. Hey, for our listeners in Wisconsin, I know there's a lot of you. Cornbread hip is now legal there at Woodman's Woodman's.
