Hey Bible readers, I'm Miss Emily, and this is the Bible recap. For kids! [♪ OUTRO MUSIC PLAYING [♪ Here we are again, Bible readers. We've come to another... 7-day rounder! And you know what we'll do first. Let's zoom out. You've finished reading a second book of the Bible. Congratulations! As we finished Genesis, we saw God's faithfulness to fulfill His promises. We also started Exodus this week, where we saw that God protects and provides. And we were reminded how good it is to praise God. And since we finished our second book of the Bible, it's time for a... Big picture! Genesis! Genesis is the story of creation, sin, and God's good plan. Through the lives of Adam, Eve, Noah, Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Rebecca, Jacob, Israel, and many more, we see over and over that God's plans can't be stopped, not even by our sin. We also see that God's promises always come true. And we're left with the promise that God's plan is a blessing, not just for Abraham's family, but for all of us. This week, we had a few more... Word to remember! An ale is someone who gets money or property when someone else dies. Passover is a feast celebrated by Jewish people every year. Even today, you're my sum of when the destroying angel passed over every home marked by the blood of the Lamb, leaving the children inside safe. The Sabbath is the seventh day of the week set aside for rest and worship. And before you go, let's talk about an... Application! In Exodus, we began to see a pattern of God saving the Israelites and the Israelites quickly forgetting about it. You would think that millions of Israelites would remember being freed from slavery and walking through a sea while God held the water up like walls. But do you know what? We're guilty of forgetting too. When things go well for us, it's easy to forget how much we need God. And when things are going badly, we may doubt that he cares about us at all. So think of some of the ways God has protected and provided for you and your family. In fact, why don't you and your grown-up make a list together and put it somewhere that you'll see it? Your list of God's protection and provision can be a banner to remember God and praise Him for what He has done. Keep them purer.
