John Solomon hosts a Friday edition covering gas prices, border security, and pro-life issues with guests Congressman Tim Burchett, RNC Chair Michael Wattley, Father Frank Pavone, and Media Research Center President David Bozell. The episode addresses inflation's impact on working Americans, soft-on-crime policies in blue states, and media bias in covering the Iran conflict.
Insights
- Gas prices and inflation are top concerns for working Americans and directly impact election outcomes, with voters prioritizing economic relief over foreign policy
- Congressional stock trading bans face bipartisan resistance despite public support, suggesting structural incentives prevent reform even when politically popular
- Media outlets demonstrate systematic bias by amplifying Democratic narratives while downplaying Republican achievements and suppressing coverage of crimes by illegal immigrants
- Young people are returning to church and faith-based communities as a response to social media depression and identity confusion, signaling a potential religious revival
- Soft-on-crime policies in Democratic-led states create measurable public safety crises that become campaign issues in swing states like North Carolina

Hello America, welcome to the Good Friday edition of John Solomon reports, the podcast from Just the News. Today is a solemn day for those of us who practice the Christian faith, but it is also a day for us to be thankful that we have so much that those who sacrificed, whether Jesus on the cross or the men and women who do it in the field every day, including the 13 soldiers that we've lost during the Iran conflict recently, their sacrifices have made our lives better. That spring is a time of renewal and as we get closer to Easter, those of us who are those of you who just practiced and got through the Passover holiday, this is a special time. It's a time of renewal. It's a time of renewing our faith, renewing our spirit, renewing our health and to all those who will celebrate Easter this weekend or that weeks ahead, to those who just wrapped up celebrating Passover, I just want to wish you the blessings that that renewal can often bring. Now we got a great show for you today, including someone who comes to us as a man of cloth, Father Frank Pavone in the Third Block. He's a former Catholic priest. He is the, I think, one of the most cogent voices for life in America. He'll join us with some Easter thoughts and some other thoughts. I caught him down in CPAC down in Dallas last week and I saved that interview just for this particular day. We got some other good ones for you. Congressman Tim Burchett is going to join us. He's from the great state of Tennessee. He's a truth teller. He has, you know, he's got things he's trying to get done, including creating a ban on stock trading by individual members of Congress. They can do it in the mutual funds, but they can't do it themselves, so they don't benefit from their own insider knowledge in the government. Tim Burchett trying to get that through. We'll ask him if it's realistic or whether the deep state in Congress will kill it. The rhinos, the Democrats, the forever politicians. So Congressman Tim Burchett in the First Block, Michael Wattley, former Republican National Committee Chairman, now the leading Republican candidate for Senate in North Carolina. It's going to be one of the most hard fought Senate races in America against Roy Cooper, the former Democrat, popular governor. Michael Wattley is really taking it to Roy Cooper for his record of releasing dangerous criminals, including the man who killed that young Ukrainian woman, the refugee in Charlotte, slashed to death on a train. She did nothing wrong. She was just sitting there. Michael Wattley will tell us why a lot of people in North Carolina say they want to vote like Irina's life depends on it. That was the name of that young woman. Michael Wattley in the Second Block, like I said, Father Frank Pavone, the former Catholic priest in the Third Block of the show, and then David Bozell from the Media Research Center. He does, I think, some of the best accountability reporting when it comes to holding the reporters, the legacy media, to account David Bozell. We'll bring us that thought in the Third Block of the day show. So I'm really excited about that. I'm sorry, the Fourth Block. We're going to do Four Blocks today, even though it's Easter Sunday. So I'm not going to spend a whole lot of time on monologues and news. You can go to JustinNews.com, go to the Justin News Android and Apple apps to get all of that. I am before we get to the commercial break and a shout out, one of my great friends, Lean. They've been with us a long time and we're all hearing about these GLP-1 injections and people are losing weight. There's an excitement. There's a larger conversation just about health and that's great. But some people want to lose weight without having to do a painful injection or be concerned about side effects. So Lean is a weight loss supplement. It's studied ingredients have been shown to lower your blood sugar, burn fat by converting it into energy and curb your appetite and craving. So those are the three things that bring your weight down because you're not hungry then. But listen, Lean is not for the casual diet or with only a few pounds to lose. A doctor is a breakhouse nutrition, one of our great partners created Lean for frustrated dieters with 10 or more pounds to lose like I did. Let's get to start it with 20% off and free rush shipping so you can add Lean to your healthy diet and exercise plan. That's important. Combine it with those two things. You got a three headed success plan. So visit takeleane.com and enter Just News It for your discount. That's promo code JustNews at TakeLeane.com. All right, back in a second with Congressman Tim Berger. Hey folks, this episode is brought to you by Natapath, grass-fed collagen for better bones, joints, skin, hair and nails. Here's something that genuinely surprised me. Calcium supplements, the ones millions of people take for bone health may not be doing much at all because bones are 90% collagen, not calcium. Without the collagen scaffold to attach to, calcium has nowhere to go. That's where today's sponsor comes in. After 30, our bodies produce 1 to 2% less collagen every single year. That's the protein that keeps our bones dense, our joints cushioned and our skin firm. By 60, most people like me have lost half of their collagen and it's nearly impossible to get it back through diet alone because it lives in the parts of the animal we usually don't eat, the bones, the cartilage and the tendons. Natapath grass-fed collagen is a clean grass-fed type 1 and 3 collagen that dissolves completely in water or coffee. No taste, no clumping. Thousands of customers report less joint pain, stronger nails, younger looking skin, better sleep and even improved bone density scans. So if you want to try at risk-free with a 365 day money-back guarantee, head to getnatapath.com slash justnews. That's getnatapath.com slash justnews. Hey folks, it's time of year as we start to get warmer and the days get longer, I start thinking about my closet. What's in it? I'm trying to keep fewer things but better ones, pieces that are well made, easy to wear and they're going to last for a long time. I just recently updated my spring wardrobe and I don't like to go to brick and mortar stores anymore. I like to do it online and I found an extraordinary place. That's why I keep coming back to it. It's called Quince. The fabrics feel elevated, the fits are thoughtful and the pricing actually makes sense. Quince makes high quality everyday essentials using premium materials like 100% European linen and their insanely soft flow knit active wear fabric. I just bought a jacket, it was amazing. Their men's linen pants and shirts are lightweight, breathable and comfortable, basically the perfect layer for springtime. The pants strike the right balance between laid back and refined. See what you put together, it looks good without trying too hard. It's really that great. The best part is that the prices are 50 to 60% less than similar brands. How? Quince works directly with ethical factories and cuts out the middlemen, so you're paying for quality, not brand markup. Everything is designed to last and making getting dressed easier and cheaper. So do me a favor, refresh your wardrobe with Quince. Go to quince.com slash justnews for free shipping and 365 day returns. Now available in Canada too, so my friends to the north, go check it out. He represents the great center of Tennessee and he is a friend of this show, Congressman Tim Berchard joins us now. Sir, good to have you on. I was glad to be here with y'all. It's I can remember the first time we allegedly went to the moon. You're in the doubter camp, are you? That's so funny. Allegedly, allegedly we have a deal in Congress to get the Homeland Security funded. Republicans in the House held their ground against the Senate. It looks like you got a deal. Tell us what you think of it. Well, any deal that we can get Americans back to work and pay our hardworking folks, you know, we fully funded the Department of Homeland Security for six weeks, at least until May 22nd. Of course, the Senate funded the Department of Homeland Security, but it didn't include any funding for immigration or customs enforcement ICE, as I guess we should call it, and the border patrol. So hopefully we can get everybody paid and I believe the president probably has a pretty good idea of what's going on in his pulse on what needs to happen. America's ready for it and we need to get on with it. Congressman, it seems like Congress has fall congressional Republicans, I should say, follow in the footsteps of President Trump when it comes to outside the box ideas. Obviously, getting this done through reconciliation. Is there an outside of the box idea queued up for the Save America Act? Well, I would hope it would something would happen with it. I just don't know if I've got the confidence in the Senate to do anything. They haven't done it yet. You know, they should have nuked the filibuster. I know the Democrats, that's the first thing they will do once they take control after they file impeachment on the president and most of his staff and and everyone that he's appointed, I suspect. So I would hope we could get that included somewhere. And I don't know. I don't know. I don't think it would it would work in reconciliation, but we shall say. Yeah, that's the big issue. Can they sneak it in through past the Parliamentary? We'll see. Congressman, I want to turn to tonight nine o'clock. The president's going to address the nation. We're five weeks into the conflict. We have devastated every capability Iran had militarily. We've achieved our objectives. What do you expect the president to say? And how do you think the American people are going to react? I hope he says that we're going to have cooperation out of some of these other Middle Eastern countries to where American boys and girls won't be sacrificed on this altar. I just don't I just don't see it as necessary. I think the president gets it. He knows America is not ready for something like that or has the stomach for it, actually. And and frankly, I just don't think anything like that would pass in the house regardless of what's going on. I think we we've we want to get in. We want to get out. And I would hope that the Middle Eastern countries would start putting their their boots on the ground. And we would see some more cooperation in the straight through there to get trade open again. And hopefully that would be the that would be the end conclusion. Congressman, are you concerned that this conflict currently is affecting Republicans ability to keep the majority in the house? And if not, what what what point at what point does that start happening? I would hope I'm not I would hope we just do what was right, ma'am, regardless of the outcome. We tend to use that barometer too much. And and I think that what what's going to happen the last 30 to 60 days before the election is what's really going to matter the most right now. And then when we close in on those times, I think we should we should make sure we focus on those things. But but I would hope again that we could end this conflict successfully and get trade routes back open and get this oil markets back to some civility. And then and working Americans wouldn't be suffering because right now this is hurting. This is hurting. There's no question it's hurting. It's hurting at the gas pumps. And then that just affects every bit of trade. Anytime you haul anything over the road, you know, I have a diesel dooly. I said the other day, I couldn't decide that I want to go down to Starbucks and buy a cup of coffee. Did I want to send my daughter to college for a year? Or did I want to fill up my dooly? Because all three of those things cost about the same thing. So, you know, I work working Americans are hurting, ma'am. And and and this is this is piles on to it. I was at a I was at a private school in Knoxville today talking to some high schoolers. And that was the number one question was when is this going to end? What's the end game in why is gas so high? Yeah, you got your finger right in the post. You talked about doing the right thing. And I know one of those things you want to be done that is the right thing getting the congressional stock trading band through Congress and get prevent lawmakers from cashing in on the internal knowledge of their job. You think you can get it done? No, I mean, I don't think we're going to get done what needs to be done. I think we're going to pass some wind addressing that will go to the Senate, and they'll probably pass something a little different. And then we'll never we either come to an agreement that amounts to nothing, or it'll be two different bills. So I just don't think the bill that I had and I'm representative Luna and I worked on was a very simple bill. It just said no stock trading. If you have stocks, you put them in a mutual fund as I do to with my buddy Tommy Siler and my other friend Andy Venable, who are both in that business and they always, you know, it's very easy to get a mutual fund and you just turn it over. But America doesn't trust what we're doing right now. And frankly, they shouldn't because we're not going to end up doing what's right, I think, because both parties are in on it. Hey, folks, you want to go where when we come back from the commercial break, the man who will be the Republican nominee for Republican Senator in North Carolina, Michael Watley right after these messages. With the midterms right around the corner, obviously soft on crime policies in blue states and purple states continue to pose a threat to Americans. Our next guest is going to talk about that because of one, one very high profile case in his state. So joining us now as someone who can talk about all of this and more is a former chairman of the Republican National Committee and current candidate for Senate in North Carolina, friend of the show to Michael Watley. Sir, thank you so much for being here. It's great to be on with both of you. Absolutely. All right, I want to start with that news at the top. We are sending four humans into space again. It's going to be exciting for the American people. Is this considered because it's happening during the Trump administration? It's happening with Republicans in control. Is this maybe a little bit of a notch in the belt for Republicans heading into midterms? I think this is a notch in the belt for America. You know, you think about America, this is the greatest nation in the history of the world. And when you look at what we are able to accomplish with science, with math, with technology, with innovation, we just keep getting better and better. And the fact that they've been able to put this mission together within a year, you know, and Jared Isaacman and the NASA team really deserve a lot of credit for it. The president deserves a lot of credit for it, for being able to push this agenda forward and give it a green light and make sure that it goes. But I am so proud of America. And when you think about us and our 250th anniversary, it just continues to show that we are the greatest country in the history of the world. All right, folks, I want to break in before we get back to Michael. We just got word from NASA. They are putting a hold on the countdown. We don't know the reason yet, but there has been a pause on the countdown at about eight minutes, I believe it is, we're looking at. But we will get back to it as soon as we get more news. We'll cut in. Michael, I want to turn to something that happened at CPAC. I missed you there. I felt terrible. My schedule just got mixed up. But a person came up to me. They're from Indiana. They said a lot of family in North Carolina. They said, I'm telling everybody I know in North Carolina to vote in November for Michael Wotley, like Irina's life depends on him, referring to that poor Ukrainian immigrant who got slashed to death on the subway. They're a man who had been out of prison, who should not have been out of prison. Powerful is that issue that someone in Indiana knows it matters in North Carolina. It is very powerful. The fact is Roy Cooper was the most pro crime president in the history of North Carolina. That when he was governor, he signed an executive order which brought pretrial release and cashless failed in North Carolina, set up a revolving door that put criminals back on the streets immediately after they were arrested again and again and again. It didn't matter if they were arrested 20 or 30 or 40 or even 50 times, they would be right back on the streets. He also signed a court settlement agreement with the ACLU and the NAACP where he let over 35 hardened criminals out of North Carolina prisoners because he was afraid they were going to get COVID. And he said none of them were violent. He said none of them were violent criminals. And he lied. And the fact is that DeCarlo Brown Jr. was on that list. He was released not just that time but he was arrested and released 12 more times after that example, 14 times in total. And he should have never been on the streets. He should never have been on that light rail car. And Aris Zorowska should be alive today. In fact, her blood is on Roy Cooper's hands. Earlier today some very, very important court proceedings happening at the Supreme Court. And of course anytime we're talking about law and order, you got to talk about immigration. And this issue of birthright citizenship, I feel quite bad actually for the government's lawyers and the Solicitor General having the president of the United States right there. I would be quite nervous. But your thoughts on that, I mean we know what the polling says on this and it is with the Trump administration. Yeah, you know, and it's tough to perform like that in front of President Trump. It's an audience of one at that point. Look, you know, immigration is such a phenomenally important issue. You know, you think about with Joe Biden allowing 15 to 20 million illegal immigrants into the United States. He opened up our borders. He put people on planes and flew them into the heartland. And then he gave them billions and billions and billions of dollars in free government assistance. That should have never happened. The fact is that the president on day one sealed that border. And you see now that we have month after month where zero illegal immigrants are being caught at the border and released into the United States. And he is working every day to get the most violent criminals out, you know, the criminal illegal aliens out of the United States. That is something that is tremendously important. You know, you see the fact that fentanyl deaths are way down, that migrant crime is way down, sex trafficking is down. This is all because President Trump sealed that border. The highest most important function for any government, whether it's the state government, federal government or local governments, is protecting its citizens, is making sure that we're keeping our kids and our communities safe. And Roy Cooper was an abject failure that here in North Carolina and does not need to be promoted up to the Senate. I'm very thankful that the president has taken the stances that he has and making sure that he has sealed that border and we're getting these violent criminals out. Perfect, John. I've just got an update. I want to give everybody that they they held for a few minutes for a check and they're now doing the checklist poll to resume the countdown at T minus 10. Good. All right, we'll be watching that. And when we get to that two minute critical moment, we're going to go right over there. But let's stay on topic with Michael Wattley, the Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in North Carolina, one of the most closely watched races in America. Michael, tonight the president will look into the camera. It'll be surrounded by an audience in the White House. He's expected to say we've achieved our objectives in Iran and lay out a timetable for how military operations stop and what comes next in that moment. Iran making some soundings today. Hey, if you don't attack us anymore, we're not going to attack you anymore. I got 47 years of history that got some doubt on that. But where do you think we are? And what do you want to hear from the president tonight? I want to hear from the president that we are continuing to make sure that Iran will not have nuclear weapons, that they cannot deliver payloads on their missiles into the Middle East or Europe or the United States, and they're not going to export terrorism anymore. These are the fundamental principles that the president put on the table when he went into Iran. Those are principles that I support, that most of North Carolina supports. And it's very important that we stay on that mission. The fact is we have had deaths which are very, very tragic. And my thoughts and my prayers go out to the families of those who've been affected. But North Carolina is the tip of the spear when it comes to protecting our interests and allies around the world. Almost 100,000 men and women in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard are based here in North Carolina. And when it comes to protecting our interests and allies around the world, we're going to be the tip of the spear. We support this mission and we need to make sure that we see it through. Yeah. Michael, we have watched you in your position at North Carolina GOP. We watched you at the head of the RNC. And I know you to be a man who works hard. So I know that you want to go to Capitol Hill to work hard for the American people and the people of North Carolina. But if Democrats take the Senate, then your time will probably all be spent defending impeachment and defending removal from office. How important is it that Republicans at least hold the Senate? Oh, it's absolutely critical. You know, you think about our agenda right now, which is to create jobs, make sure people are taking home more money that they get to keep more money, that we're going to keep our kids and our communities safe, that our men and women in uniform are going to get the support they need to carry out their missions here and around the world. We don't need to go back to the agenda that Joe Biden and the Democrats brought in with open borders, inflationary spending in a weak, woke America. That's not what the people of North Carolina want. I'm excited to get into the majority and be a conservative champion for North Carolina and an ally for President Trump. Yeah, it's such an extraordinary moment. And keeping that Trump legacy going another two years will have enormous momentum for years to come. I want to turn to a subject that I think befuddles a lot of Americans. We have criminal illegal aliens are in a prison, in a city or a state. There's a detainer on them. They're allowed to be deported in that jail, that governor, that mayor. Somebody won't allow that person to be turned over to ICE. Now, there's a law on the books called the Alien Harbouring Act. It says you can't do that. Is it time to have a sheriff or a prosecutor or someone that harbors a legal alien in prison when there's a lawful detainer, apply that law to them and prosecute them for refusing to turn over an alien? Yeah, you've got to have a conversation about that. The fact is that Roy Cooper vetoed legislation here in North Carolina that would have forced the sheriffs to honor ICE detainers and get the violent criminals out of North Carolina. That shame on him, and I'm glad that the legislature overrode those vetoes, but the fact is we still have sheriffs who do not want to honor ICE detainers. We see it all across the country right now. Tom Homan has been very clear that the safest place for the ICE to pick up an illegal alien criminal is in the jail. You don't need to have outside folks that are going to be weighing in on that. You don't have to put the public at risk. You need to be able to do that. Shame on Roy Cooper for vetoing that legislation. We need the sheriffs all across the country to honor those ICE detainers and get these violent criminals out of America. Michael, it's not often that I am citing or especially applauding TMZ, but TMZ is tracking members of Congress as they are not doing the work of the people, although some of them are. They're over in Ireland or maybe here, there in Yonder, and they are actually doing congressional business. But do you think that that applies pressure on Democrats and Republicans too, possibly to get back to Capitol Hill to get DHS funded and the Save America Act passed? They need to get back to Capitol Hill. These are two very, very high priorities. People forget that DHS was founded after 9-11. It was created after the worst attack on American soil in history where thousands of Americans were killed in New York, Pennsylvania, and Washington, D.C. It was created to protect the homeland, to protect American citizens. Shame on the Democrats for shutting down DHS. If for political gamesmanship, this is really callous politics that it's worse. Congress needs to be here and have that conversation every single day. When it comes to election integrity, it is absolutely critical for us to pass the Save America Act and make sure that we're going to have voter ID all across the country and that people have to prove their citizenship when they vote. These are 80-20 issues around the country and the Democrats steadfastly refuse to move forward on it. Let's go to the floor. Let's have that conversation and let's force them to defend these radical ideas. Fantastic. Sir, tell everybody where they can find more about your website. So my website is michaelwadley.com. They can follow me on X at atwadleync. And we really hope that people will go. They will sign up. They will contribute and they will join this movement to make sure that North Carolina has a conservative champion and an ally for President Trump in a Senate. Hey, folks. Father Frank Pavone, former Catholic priest, up next champion for life. We're going to talk about that plus Easter and all the blessings in between of Holy Week. Frank Pavone, next, right after these messages. My next guest has led with his faith for a long time. He has been a priest. He is the most, I think, the most cogent voice in the pro-life movement today. He has shown courage even when some in his own church didn't want to go far enough to protect human life. He is a great friend. I call him Father Still. He's Frank Pavone. Hey, thanks, John. Good to be with you. I got to watch that mic back. I don't know what I'm talking about. And no amount of bureaucracy in the church, no amount of efforts to silence you on the stage ever kept you from keeping true to your belief that we need to protect every life. That's right. That's right. Where are we in the pro-life movement? It seems like a lot of states have moved to a better thing. Probably the greatest challenge right now is a mythoprestone and the male and abortion drugs. Do you think there's a moment where that pivots as well? Oh, absolutely. We're seeing a lot of progress. You know, here's the bottom line and we're going into these midterms and pro-life, you know, for the people at this conference, for the people watching, it's kind of baked in. It might not be the first thing we talk about, you know, in the campaign or when we're with each other, but we all know the extremism of the Democrats. And I think whether it's these abortion drugs or the late-term abortions that are still continuing or these constitutional amendments that are being pushed in certain states to allow abortion without limit until birth, teach us one thing. We want to win these midterms. Don't back away from the abortion issue and make the Democrats answer for what they defend. Abortion until birth. Make them describe what they defend because John, they'll never do it. They never describe the abortion procedure. So we'll say to them, hey, tell us what you mean by abortion. Yeah, yeah, yeah, women have. Meanwhile, you look at the medical textbooks and it says dismemberment and it says decapitation. And those are their words in the medical textbook, not ours. Yeah, no, we do need to do a better job continuing to educate folks. I want to talk about maybe the back door on male abortion is what I call it. The Democrats start with the notion that they support abortion for women's health, but giving a woman drugs without being able to see a doctor, without her doctor being able to evaluate her condition is a safety risk in and of itself. Do you think that that becomes a back door for states to begin saying, yep, unless the doctor is going to do this, we're not allowing it? Oh, absolutely. And I mean, Texas has been doing a great job. That impacts of the chemical abortions. Yeah. And what we have to realize is it was under Democrat administrations. Right. First Clinton and Obama, then Biden, that these drugs were introduced for abortion. And then progressively, the what's called the REMS, the risk, evaluation and mitigation strategies, the protections for women's health, they gradually made them weaker and weaker and weaker. No doctor's visit required. Well, how are you going to tell the difference between an ectopic pregnancy, which then puts her life in danger, or a normal pregnancy unless you have that doctor's visit? They eliminated that they eliminate the follow up visit, and you sell these things in the mail. By the way, we're not sure about the statistics, right? Just because one of these drugs was sold, that doesn't mean that it was used yet for abortion. Some people stockpile them. But you know, I'm sure many of our audience heard these stories where a boyfriend who doesn't want that baby sticks it in her in her dessert in her tea. This is absolute barbarism. Yeah, no, it is murder at the end of the day. All right, I want to turn to some other issues. I met a young man on Wednesday when I first came in, we were sitting at the store in line. And he said, you know, a few years ago, I almost took my life. I didn't find purpose in life. Everything I read on social media made me depressed. My parents were too busy to spend a lot of time with me because they were just trying to make ends meet. I come from a blue collar family. And I was this close from taking my life and someone intervened and stopped. And I'm a better person today. And I said, well, what's been the magic switch? What happened? Why are you more joyous now? And he said, I started going back to church. It was a really remarkable conversation. Isn't that beautiful? But the word, the moment he found himself in, you have found so many reasons to confuse and make our children depressed. Maybe you're a girl, even though God assigned you being a boy. Yeah, maybe you are should be ashamed of America. We've bombarded a generation of young people with hatred and depressing news and falsities. We've taken some of God's truth and thrown them on the ground. What is the key to this revival that's going on? Young people are going back to church. There is a very day. It's kind of remarkable. How can we further that? And what's the key to its beginnings? There is a revival. I believe we'll look back at these times now and say that was another great awakening in America. Yeah, we got returned to church, returned to the Bible. And our president, of course, is fueling those flames by making religious liberty wider than it's ever been before. I think, John, one of the parts of the answer to your important question is what I call the dead end rule. If you go down a dead end road and you ignore the signs that say it's a dead end, you're soon going to learn by personal experience that it's a dead end. So whether it's with abortion and we got the silent no more people coming back, I regret my abortion or transgender, the people who are detransitioning, the people who are saying this ruined my life or any other moral issue, you keep ignoring the message of the scriptures of the church of the conservative movement. And if anyone that has values, you're going to learn it the hard way because you're going to hit that brick wall of human nature. Human nature was made a certain way and you can't change that. You can try to deny it. You can ignore it. You can start deforming it, but you're going to pay the price. I think what happens with revival and I think it's one of the reasons why we're in that moment now is that things go and go. And then when you hit that rock bottom, you start to say, how in the world did we get here and how in the world do we get out? You have been a blessing to our show so many times. You bring value. You bring inspiration to us. In the last year, you spent a lot of time speaking out about the atrocities of what's going on in Nigeria and Syria where Christians are being executed. That's because they believe in Jesus and God. You're on the Religious Civil Liberties Commission. How important is it for all of us to not let the Nigerian genocide be swept under the rug? Well, because that's us. We follow a God who was crucified and he said no servant is greater than his master. We've got to be ready for that persecution. And when we don't stand up for whatever Christian is being persecuted, wherever they are, we're inviting it for ourselves. It is so true. I get so angry at my colleagues in the media because they don't want to report on Nigeria. They don't want to report on it. And in any other era of journalism, it would be on the front page because it's dozens of people a week, maybe dozens a day in some circumstances. President Trump threw missiles in there. He's backed them off a little bit. But we need to raise our voices. It's such an important... Well, and remember, the best defense is a good office. We've got to be zealous for proclaiming Christ and bringing people to him. What's your best advice heading into this amazing holy week ahead of us and then the resurrecting moment of Easter for all of us who are trying to find that special moment of reinvigoration? What do you advise? Well, take that time to go to the holy week ceremonies, whatever denomination you belong to. Take that extra time because that's when the community comes together. We hear that word. We take part in those ceremonies. That's the foundation of our faith, what we're about to celebrate this coming week. Yeah, it's such an extraordinary week. It's a it is a week of rejuvenation. Father, every time you're with me, you always find a way to bring my joy up. All right. Thank you, John. Thank you so much for all you do. God bless you. God bless you all. All right, folks. We're going to finish up with a little bit of accountability for my profession, the media, at least the legacy media. David Bozow from the Media Research Center has got some shocking new numbers. I mean, that's shocking, but they're important to have. Arm yourself so you can convince your friends and family that they might not be getting the truth when they turn on a traditional network television or open up a traditional newspaper. David Bozow will explain why right after these messages. Welcome back, America. When I was in Dallas last week at the CPAC convention, a mainstream reporter came up to me and said, Hey, I want to interview about Donald Trump and Iran. I said, Okay, go ahead. And the first thing he says, Donald Trump said no wars and he got us an award. I'm like, no, he said no long wars. Oh, really? Yeah. Oh, that's right. You're right. Then he said, Well, the base is leaving him. How's he going to deal with that? I'm like, No, the polling shows at 90, 95% of the base is right with him. Oh, yeah. No, that's true. And we went on and on. And I realized either this reporter didn't know what he was talking about, or he intentionally was trying to hijack the conversation. And other respect, we sent him straight. But our next guest, well, every day, he sends sets the legacy media straight, calling him out for their biases or omissions. They're just all around bad reporting. He's the president of the media research center and a good friend of the show, David Buzell. David, great to have you back on. Thank you, John. Thanks, Amanda. Appreciate it. All right, you've done some amazing work just on the way the media has been covering the Iran conflict the last few weeks. Give us some of the highlights and why so many Americans are being misled. Well, it's been anti American from the jump. Remember, President Trump addressed the nation in the middle of the night video, nine minute long video in which he clearly articulated the three big objectives to this military campaign. Number one, completely eradicate Iran's nuclear capabilities. Number two, stave off their their abilities to shoot down their neighbors and shoot at their neighbors with their missile capabilities. And number three, help the Iranians be able to choose their own adventure if necessary. He and Secretary Hexeth and Secretary Rubio and Secretary Besant and Vice President Vance have all been very consistent about listing those three objectives over and over and over again. And yet, day in and day out, the coverage of the president and how he's administering is in our, administering Iran is basically, he doesn't know what he's doing. He went into this without any objectives. He, he's, he says he's negotiating with the Iranians, but we prefer to believe the Iranians when they say they're not negotiating with the president. If you're not going to believe the president when he clearly articulates his objectives, then I guess you're just not going to believe the president when he clearly articulates the updates of those objectives. And so it's just been anti American across the board and it's gone into the late night television shows as well with, with the, with the comics with Kim Oal and Fallon and all the rest of these guys, 98% of the humor is anti American, anti American ally. Gosh, it's amazing. Well, and David, I want to ask you more about that because even today at press secretary Caroline Levitt's podium, she was trying to impress upon the media. You guys are more believing of this regime that's been in power and oppressing and killing people for 47 years. It, if you're not going to believe president Trump, then it puts you in a binary, binary position of believing Iran more. And I don't know, I don't want to be polyanis, but I got to believe that the media isn't, is it really that they are that anti American that they would rather believe they're on? Yeah. I mean, look, I don't want to be polyanis about it either, Amanda, but I remember there was a time particularly go for one, go for two. Look, we could debate whether or not we should send American troops into these foreign hotspots, but the moment American men and women, American treasure was deployed, even the media came to their senses and said, look, okay, we're going to support these guys. And we want the Americans to win. I've got John Brennan here, okay, on MSNOW quote, well, I tend to believe I ran more than I do Donald Trump. Close quote. It's a national security advisor to the former president of the United States. National security advisor, he's a MSN contributor, and he tends to believe Iran. These guys have been murderous thugs for close to 50 years. And that's who a former NSA guy believes more than president. So this is just again, it's another example of Trump derangement syndrome that has gotten way out of control. And it's, and it's percolating the immigration issue and DHS shutdown and Save America Act. There's just been a total blockade of the conservative viewpoint because it's just against Trump all the time. Yeah, you did something that's very important. I think people have app fatigue. They don't want to have 500 apps on their phone anymore. So they're starting to use the aggregator apps like Apple news and Google news. You have done, I think, really landmark, great work showing us how much bias occurs. Those are the pipelines. And those pipelines are biased. We're all biased in our reception of knowledge. Tell us what you found and how do we fix it? Yeah, we've developed what's called the MRC digital news tracker in which we're recording everything that the apps, Apple, Google news, MSN and Yahoo in particular, are putting out there day in and day out. I give you a degrees as an example. Thursday morning, 125 million people, users, go to Apple news every single day, at least reportedly, right? It's kind of difficult to find those numbers out, but 125 million users reportedly go there every day. Apple decided to broadcast in the morning a big, gigantic photo of Chuck Schumer standing in front of a sign that said, quote, Republicans have blocked funding for TSA eight times. Close quote. That was the sign. That was the image that 125 million users potentially saw. And if this picture speaks a thousand words, it starts to answer the question. I know a lot of people in Capitol Hill, I'm sure John, you could probably testify to this, that Republicans kind of don't really believe, why Democrats believe, that Republicans are going to get the blame for the shutdown. And this is how they're going to get the blame. When 125 million people were exposed to such a bias and blatantly, a blatant lie of an image that was provided to Apple, that this is how that, those things happen. So it's a tough, it's a tough slog for the Republican party. They've got to compete on these things. This is the point of entry. Apple news is the point of entry. Google news is the point of entry. Everyone's doing well on X. Lots of folks are doing well on Facebook. Lots of folks are doing well on Instagram. Lots of folks are doing well on streaming. But these, this thing is the point of entry for hundreds of millions of Americans and news consumers. And we've got to get, do a better job within our own ecosystem. Oh, no doubt. Well, you've made it possible. Another way we've got to get better is fighting back against fake news, because David John and I, we're talking about this at the top of the show when it comes to these no kings protest. They are hardly anything close to organic. But yet you have the media that is just absolutely glowing, complimenting the 8 million people figure, which I'm very dubious about because that number came straight from Neville Singham. But what do you make of their coverage of these protests? And is that kind of fueling the next protest? Because it kind of seems like they keep happening, but I don't know if anything is really being accomplished. I don't know. Well, I mean, look, like, like, kudos to the organizers of the no kings protest. They picked probably the best day of the year, 65 degrees and sunny on a Saturday, right before people were heading out. And if you can't, if you don't want to get stuck in a TSA line, you might as well go protest the darn thing. But look, yes, the images coming out of these things are pretty grotesque. It's either a mixed bag of old boomers that basically bought their homes for bushel blueberries, they don't want to give them up, or these, these blue haired pink haired psychos that are just parading through our suburbs. And that's sort of an odd coalition. I don't really understand it. But the press just thinks that this is just the most organic love affair. And the picture perfect display of American democracy that it's ever seen. So the coverage far outweighs anything that you would ever see in the March for Life. Year in and year out, they give, they give more coverage to, so they give more coverage to no kings that they've given to Sheridan Gorman. Sheridan Gorman, we just came out with a study that CNN and MSNOW have yet to provide a segment on Sheridan Gorman, the woman who was killed out in Chicago by the illegal immigrant. But no kings, they'll run water wall covers. All right, folks, that wraps up our Good Friday edition of John Solomon reports, a podcast from Justin News, a big thank you to Congressman Tim Burchett, Michael Wattley, Father Frank Proven, and David Bozell for great interviews. Hope you enjoy them. Back tomorrow, the Congressman Ben Klein in the house, Mike Benz, champion of free speech. We have a great election integrity advocate, Lieutenant Governor of Georgia, Bert Jones, and we'll talk a little gold with American alternative assets. That's our show tomorrow until then. God bless you. Have a great night.
