The Ringer NFL Show hosts Shield Kapadia, Deontay Lee, and Billy Gill preview Super Bowl 60 from San Francisco, discussing X-factors, storylines, and making official predictions. Deontay predicts a Seahawks blowout (34-14), Billy picks Patriots (29-17), and Shield forecasts Seahawks (24-16), while also debating whether this Super Bowl has sufficient narrative juice compared to recent matchups.
Insights
- Despite reaching the Super Bowl, the Patriots remain an incomplete data set—their defense has carried them through a weak playoff run without being tested against elite offenses like Seattle's
- The Kubiak family curse narrative suggests coaching transitions may create psychological disadvantages, with historical precedent from Mike Shanahan and Gary Kubiak's Super Bowl performances
- Sam Darnold's potential regression under pressure in a Super Bowl environment could be the decisive factor, as he hasn't faced the adversity of chasing multiple possessions
- This Super Bowl lacks the narrative juice of recent years due to the absence of Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson, making it the lowest-profile matchup in 15-20 years
- Media saturation on serious storylines has reached a ceiling, forcing analysts to find unique angles like obscure X-factors (Kyle Williams, Gray Zabel) to differentiate coverage

welcome to the ringer NFL show. I'm your host, shield Capadio. One final show for the week. It's time to go on the record with picks, predictions, final score, all that good stuff. So we've got our friend, Deontay Lee from the ringer. He will join Billy Gill and myself. Let's take a break. We'll come right back with Deontay and Billy. all right we are back here on the ringer nfl show shield kapadia with dionte lee and billy gill one last show before the game dionte do you have any takes that just you know you feel like all right i'm gonna let them out here because i got i got no more opportunity? Oh, the only take I have is that we shouldn't have to shuttle for an hour to get to player availability. All right. That's my take. Okay. That is my take. So Billy, he is not giving San Francisco two thumbs up as a Super Bowl host city. How are you feeling? Wow. How many are you giving it? I'll give it one. One. One. Purely nostalgically, since I'm a California native, I haven't been here since my 21st birthday, which was however many years ago at this point. How's your homecoming been? It's been good. You know, I got to spend some time yesterday doing what locals would do, right? So I'm walking up and down the hills in Chinatown. We had some good food out there. So that part has been nice, you know, but as far as Super Bowl goes, not my favorite. I spent tourist time yesterday too. What'd you do? Well, we wrapped up here. I got on a trolley. I had done that once before. Got on a trolley, headed down to Fisherman's Wharf, right? That's what it's called? Got on a boat, rode the boat underneath the Golden Gate Bridge around Alcatraz. They were pointing out some different sites. There you go. So I got off on land. I walked over to the Ghirardelli Square that they have there, you know, the chocolate company. There you go. They have like a whole factory or something there. Did that. Then I started thinking, what would my wife or family ask me, did you do this while you were there? So I did, I got an Uber. I went to the Full House house. Nice. Painted Ladies, as they're called, I believe, right? Well, have you ever been? Yeah, I've seen those before, yeah. But have you been to the Full House house? No, like inside? No, no, to like in front of it or whatever. Have you been? I have not been. So if you haven't been, don't. It's just a neighborhood. It's not even like on TV where there's like a grassy area in the front where people are like playing Frisbee. None of that exists. It's a regular residential street. One side of the street is houses. The other side of the street is other houses. One of them is a full house house. They have a fence in front of the stairwell. None of the stairs have it except this house. Have a fence in front of it so no one will go up the steps. They have a sign that says this is a private residence. please your respect for whatever. And then they had an Amazon package that was on the steps just waiting for them. All the magic was lost. And the Uber driver was so confused as to where I was going when I got there. He's like, is this where you're going? And I was like, yeah. And I got down and he did that thing where he kind of just like lingered for a little bit to make sure. So I had to pretend I was actually doing something. So I just walked up and down the block a little bit. And then I called another Uber and I was like, never again. So I took a picture, sent it to some of my friends who were talking about going. I was like, tell your wives and girlfriends you were there. Use this picture. Don't waste your time. Don't waste your time. Don't waste your time. Now, lingering, I've never had that happen to me. They dropped me off, and they're off to the next one. He could tell. He was concerned. He could tell that I was a fish out of water. I took a Waymo yesterday. Oh. Have you done that? I am terrified, so no. You know, at first, I was a little anxious. If you don't stare at the steering wheel, it feels exactly like any other ride, I thought. I thought it was fun. I would do it again. First time. First time. I and I sat in the front seat because my friends were in the back. That's my problem is that I would stare at the ceiling wheel the entire time. That part is weird. I can't not look. And there was a man on the, I couldn't get the door open at first, and there was a man on the sidewalk yelling at me, don't let robots take over your life. You're lying. He was under, you know, maybe some influence of some substances. Are you going to let robots take over your life? I don't know, but I will take away Mo again. Did you go up and down the hills? because that's my concern. I want to take a Waymo just to say I have. This doesn't feel like the city to do it because the hills have me a little scared. No, this was a short ride. Okay. Yeah, that was good. All right. So San Francisco is a host city. We talked about that. Does this Super Bowl have juice? Honestly, that conversation we just had, I feel like there hasn't been as much talk about the actual game. Is this like a good Super Bowl, Deontay? Like, let's say, all right, you got the hipsters, you got the film grinders, you got the casual fan, you got the narrative. Do you feel like this is checking the boxes of a great Super Bowl matchup, or is it just that we're too far into it, we talk too much about it, it is a great Super Bowl, but maybe not for us? I mean, the latter part is certainly true, but I think the biggest problem, I might argue that we're more spoiled now than we were during the Brady era because of how quickly Patrick Mahomes has become the preeminent guy in terms of quarterback play, right? And to have a playoff run where there is no Patrick Mahomes, there is no Lamar Jackson, you get Josh Allen in and out of the playoffs, relatively quickly and kind of going out in a rough circumstances with all his turnovers. I'm not going to say it's a juiceless Super Bowl. It is probably the lowest profile Super Bowl we've had since. God, I don't know. I don't even know when the last time you would say you would have a game that was competitive with this. Maybe Cardinal Steelers because Ben Roethlisberger ended up being on a great game. I mean, you're talking about the end of Kurt Warner still. So that's still a guy that you were probably thinking was going to make the Hall of Fame by the time that game happened. So even in that, you know, like it's tough to think about a game that's been this low profile in the Super Bowl over the last 15, 20 years. Yeah. Do you think we're trying to talk ourselves into like it could be a good game, but most of it might just be like, you think this might not be all that close. Last year wasn't a great game. We're worried that's going to happen again. OK, so part of my problem is that I'm a total coward. So when Patriots people are talking to me, I feel like I almost owe them like a little bit of plausible deniability that this game might go a certain way. I just left talking to Patriots people, and I'm like, I think Seahawks by maybe a touchdown. In my heart of hearts, when our editor asked for a prediction. Well, don't give it away. We'll give our actual predictions at the end. I will say I did not have it as a six-point game, the way that I've said while I've been on Radio Row. Nice little tease there from Deontay. Stick around. No, we're not taking a break. Yeah, Deontay, you did write about the X factors in this game. Give us one from the Seahawks where you're like, this guy, you might not be thinking about him right now, but Sunday night the true ball knowers are going to go, wow, he had a big impact in this football game. So this one ended up being cut from the X-Factors piece, but I will say Gray Zabel, actually. The Gray Zabel versus Milton Williams matchup or versus Christian Barmore. Because if there is one way that you can see New England really affecting this offense, is going to be by blitzing enough to get those one-on-one opportunities with their interior linemen. A rookie lineman against two guys that have played at a Pro Bowl level at different points in their career, that is where it can get a little thorny and the rest of their interior is not as good as Grace Abel has been at points. And I would say that most of Grace Abel's wins have been in the run game. Not that he's a bad pass protector, but he's much better kind of executing that zone scheme. So that's what I'm thinking about. And then the other one, and the reason why I went with Zabel instead of this guy, is because his status is up in the air, and that's Nicky Manwari. right he's dealing with an ankle right now and that might actually end up working out in the Patriots favor if he's hobbled but still plays because now that means you're not going to have a guy who's bigger faster and stronger than your tight ends and slot receivers out in coverage on those guys so that's kind of the two things that I would think would be probably the biggest x factors on the Seattle side yeah I think the Seattle's interior offensive line Mina Mina was telling us earlier in the week Billy she's like the thing we're like sort of scared about if this game goes sideways is that their defensive tackles just kind of win those battles against our interior offensive line. Why do you have X factors that are unknown, that were cut? What if you were right on those and they didn't see the light of day? I wasn't going to ask that, but listen, you know? Look, I haven't been here long enough, so I'm just asking to know the process. It's not to, you know, question decisions that were made. I'm curious what happens about X factors. I ultimately made that call. Okay okay I ultimately made that call You know I honestly just was not very invested in the take as I was riding it out You know what he was doing He was saving it for the pod which is a veteran move Like his pick later. You have something in writing, and then you have something for the pod. And someone might be reading and listening. We hope they are, but they might not be. And you know what? Get some new information, something unique. Go on the Ringer.com, but also go on the Ringer Podcast Network. Do you have other cutting room floor takes or X-Factors or things that didn't see the light of day. Well, you haven't given us your Patriots. You have Patriots and maybe there's a... But he told us those were lies because he didn't want to upset Patriots. Okay, I'll give you an earnest one. I'll give you an earnest one. Okay. It would be Kyle Williams, who was in the piece, right? Kyle Williams is somebody who has been productive kind of in fits and starts for New England. And I think that this is also true of Travion Henderson, right? Those are probably their two speed guys that we just probably don't see enough of making an impact in their offense. But specifically with a guy like Kyle Williams, They tried to take a chance against Houston. He totally dusted Kamari Lassiter up the boundary, incomplete pass. They came to it later in that game. He probably earned a pass interference call that he did not get against Lassiter again. But you take those two reps and you think, with how physical Seattle wants to be out on the perimeter, playing tight coverage all the time, maybe you do get those one-on-one opportunities where a guy like Keyshawn Booty, who is more of a contested catch guy, might be gloved up by a Devin Witherspoon or a Tariq Willen, and maybe you just get a streak in Kyle Williams down the field. and when we talk about just like what the band of outcomes have to be for New England to win a football game of this magnitude it's going to take an unexpected name like Kyle Williams getting one of those big chunk plays I think to scare Seattle out of playing as much tight coverage as I think they might want to on Sunday. See this is why Deontay knows content. Billy you're a man of media. Deontay may be a man of content because I haven't heard the name Kyle Williams all week All we've been doing is here all week talking football. And here we are Thursday, late afternoon, and he's bringing up a guy I hadn't even thought of. In fairness, hands up, I've derailed some of this talking about underwear and such. Yeah, I would agree with that. I will say that maybe you could have heard about him had we not kind of gotten off the rails a bit. You know what's weird is that, like, Deontay just mentioned Kamari Laster. I know he was here on radio. That is a weird part about being here is that, like, you could just be yelling about somebody and they could be right next door. You have to be quiet. Like someone asked me something about Trevor Lawrence earlier, and then five minutes later, Trevor Lawrence was walking over there. These entourages are getting out of control a little bit. Am I right? Did he hear you? Are you worried about him? I don't think so. I think I said a nice thing about him. It was like, what's his best trade or something? And I made something up. Yeah. You know who I saw running around here today, literally running around? Kirk Herbstreit's dog was here. Please. Wait, that was his dog? Yeah. I almost stepped on him. What? I did see a golden ring. No, because I didn't know it. You're not expecting to look down and there's a dog at your feet. Hold on a second. He did seem as friendly as he looks like on TV. Wait, so if it wasn't his dog, you would have stepped on it. But because it's his dog, then you would have felt bad. No, it was going to be an accident either way. But I didn't realize. I was wondering why, whose dog is this? But a very well-behaved dog. Very well-behaved, but still. Why are you running around, dog? You don't agree with that. No, no. The dog people believe. I was going to say. I am abstaining. You're going to have to talk this, Deontay. I love my pit lab mix at home. If you're watching this, I love you. Mich, you can't wait to be back. It was pro dogs. Pro dogs. Yesterday we talked about dog adoption and Subarus. But we talked about dog adoptions and Subarus at the same time. Very well behaved dog. If my dogs were here, they would be running up and down the aisles. They would be peeing on cables. They would be probably running away from people, hiding, barking, whining. It'd be madness. This dog was not. Very well behaved. but also walking around without a leash. I feel like Kirk's maybe pushing it a bit. Is that a San Francisco thing? I've seen a lot of people walking around. I think it's a Californian thing. It is? Okay. So it's not looked down upon if you walk with your, you have a well, you know what? This is a London, I was in, not to flex, I was in London over the summer, family vacation, and I noticed all kinds, this was one of my big takeaways, all kinds of dogs not on leashes, but they were so well behaved, no issues. So maybe Cali's. Is it us? Are we like bad dogs? Maybe it's the non-California Americans. Is that a really part of the problem? Yeah, maybe. I don't know. My dog, I like to think has fun, but like, I don't. Well, the other thing, one more San Francisco take. Here we go. Please fire it off. The public transportation officials are like motivational speakers. Have you run into this? No. I'm walking down the street and the guy's sitting there off the BART stop, you know, there to help you if you're not sure what to do. And he says, who's winning? Are we winning today? Let's win today. I'm like, man, that is a big difference. Philadelphia, you say that, man. No one's here. But there were people smiling, talking back to him. I'm like, I kind of liked it a little bit. I'll be honest. What do you think? Did you win today? No, I don't think I did. But you know what? The podcast is still young. There's always tomorrow. Okay. Those are X factors. Are there any storylines, Deontay, that you feel like everyone's just talking this, Darnold, May? Is there like an angle that you feel like isn't getting enough attention? Are there one of those storylines that you feel like this actually is the thing? This is the narrative that comes out of this game if X team wins. Anything like that that you can think of? Honestly, no. I think that we've hit the saturation point on all the serious stuff. I actually am much more invested in a very unserious thing, which is one of the last X factors I wrote about was kind of like this weird correlation is not causation thing, but between the Kubiak family and the Shanahan family when they've been in this position where they have an impending head coaching job waiting on them. This goes back to 1987 when Mike Shanahan was getting the Raiders job. They play, I forget who they play in the Super Bowl. It might have been the Buccaneers. They got blown out 42-10 before he takes a Raiders job when he's leaving Denver. Gary Kubiak, he ended up not getting to the Super Bowl, but if you remember that 2005 Broncos team that had statistically one of the best offenses and defenses in the league, they get totally dominated by Pittsburgh in the AFC Championship game that year. And then he goes on to become the Texans head coach. And then obviously you have Kyle Shanahan, who, funnily enough, It's the only coach on that staff that still has to, like, live with the shame of the 28-3 comeback. Nobody seems to ever bring it up with Dan Quinn or anybody else who coaches on that team. The head coach, it never gets brought up. The guy who was running the defense and was just getting totally shredded in the second half, you know. But obviously, everybody kind of knows that one, right? You have the 28-3 comeback. And now we've got Clint Kubiak in a very similar position. And I would say even more so, if you were a superstitious guy, you have got to feel the worst that you possibly could. because most people are saying that the Patriots have no shot. And, I mean, you know this as a Philadelphian. I remember when it was Jonathan Gannon holding this seat. And people still, to this day, you can bring him up around an Eagles fan and people will go directly to that Super Bowl and talk about it almost as though he was intentionally sabotaging the team's opportunity. You wouldn't have known if he was. I'm just saying with the way of God. All right, that was a shot at Jonathan Gannon. Sorry, Packers fans. I'm not here to correct you on that. So, all right. You know, you had the take earlier this week, Billy, that Clint Kubiak looking ahead. Yeah. Do you trust it? Do we trust Clint Kubiak? Maybe that's picking up some steam that he's looking ahead. And that's the problem with this. And I kind of wrote about it. It's like, what happens if they get to the red zone and then the drive stalls out and you kick a field goal and you end up losing by four? People are going to say that Clint Kubiak wasn't focused enough. Is it fair to Clint? Yes. Probably not. Oh, no. You know? You know what I remember? that Eagles Patriots Super Bowl 2017. It was like a Wednesday night, and Bill Belichick shows up courtside to see a Minnesota Timberwolves game. And I'm going, that had to make the rounds in the Eagles hotel. This guy thinks so little of you. He thinks he can go spend two and a half hours watching. I don't even know who was on the Timberwolves at that point. But he thinks he can spend two and a half hours doing that because he doesn't need to game plan for you. God, yeah, who was on the Timberwolves? Is that like Ricky Rubio era? I mean, you're not even talking about good T-Wolves play. This wasn't Ant-Man in the mix. So who knows? The narratives will come out one way or another. All right. We're going to take a break. During the break, you guys think about, am I ready to give my official prediction? Now, I know you've probably been given 400 predictions this week. This is your official one that I'm going to hold feet to the fire. If you get it right, if you get it wrong, I'm going to bring it up Sunday night and say, no, no, I don't care what else you said all week. That was your official prediction. All right, we are back here on the Ringer NFL show. I gave you guys about three seconds to think about that during the break. That's in real time. Of course, the listeners had a different experience. I gave you guys about three seconds. Deontay, lead us off here. The line is four and a half. Seahawks are favored. the over under is 45 and a half in this game you're right it feels like everyone's picking the Seahawks but the Lions only four and a half it's not 10 and a half here right what is your official pick for Super Bowl 60? God I cannot believe I am saying this on Bill Simmons's airwaves this is going to get me dunked on so hard I kind of have Seahawks 34 Patriots 14. Oh the blowout he's not a coward I think this is going to be a runaway game frankly I would not be surprised at if we get that opening script, Patriots touchdown, oh my goodness, maybe Drake May can do this. You get a kickoff to Rashid Jaheed in a game 7-7, right? I feel like it's going to be one of those kinds of games. And it's not a knock on the Patriots and their journey to this point. I wrote about this last night. But you just look at all the things that you would typically want to see from a real legitimate Super Bowl winning team, and New England just hasn't been pushed enough for us to gather that data. It's not to say that they're incapable. We're just working off of an incomplete data set. We don't know what this team's personality is like if it's chasing two possessions, right? Because they just haven't had to spend much time in that kind of mode. We don't know what this team's reaction has been. I guess we do know, and it hasn't been positive, when they're playing against a defense as good as Seattle's, right? They have been able to survive really bad offensive performances and a lot of turnovers throughout this playoff run because their defense on the other side has been playing like the damn 2000 Ravens. And unless you believe that that's exactly who this team is, which is not what I think when I watch them and not what the tape would say when you're comparing the Seahawks to the Patriots right now. I think you're going to have a hard time laying out a case for New England to win, especially when comfortably, unless you're telling me that Drake May is going to dig into his 2023 Patrick Mahomes, mid-aughts to late 2010s, Tom Brady-esque type of performance. Unless you think you're getting that on Sunday, it is just hard for me to paint a scenario where the Patriots end up winning this football game. All right. Seahawks blowout. Not a very entertaining game. Seahawks win 34-14. Maybe early on, like Deontay said, it feels like they got some momentum. They can pull off the upset. But as we move along, it does not. He's not a coward. Why did he call himself a coward? Billy, he just picked a 20-point win. He's also a man of content because he knows if that happens, Bill's live right after. We have to be reacting to a blowout Patriots loss. That'll do numbers. Yeah. Yeah, presumably. That's good for the ringer as a whole, I feel like. Yeah, well. What would be better? Where would people tune in more to the Bill Simmons podcast, which you can watch live on Netflix right after the game, if it's a blowout or if it's like a last-second heartbreaker, maybe the Patriots do something stupid or Sam Darnold engineers, a game-winning drive, what draws more viewers? This actually might be the biggest question. That's a great question. I think heartbreak. I think heartbreak. I think you want to see live pain and live bokeh. Yeah, I think the Schadenfreude. Yeah. Yeah, the Bill Simmons Schadenfreude, I think, would draw more of an audience. Okay. Well, check that out either way, you know? And then, like Mina said, if the Seahawks suffer that, people will be tuning in to Mina Cox. 100%. Well, tuning in to her after. After. After. Of course. Yeah, you can record that. Yeah, exactly. Netflix live. Hit record on your YouTube or wherever you watch it. Absolutely. All right. 34-14. Deontay says Billy Gill the man who this week brought you the ball hammock did I say that is that what it is I think so okay you want to know my score give me your prediction yeah all right I'm gonna go with Patriots 29 like Seahawks 17 whoa yeah okay really see I think I haven't felt that from you all week this is surprising well truth be told I suspected that everyone's gonna I say Seahawks, so I wanted it to be interesting headed down into the last pick. Man of media. I said, you know what, let's get a Patriots favorable score here, and then what I did was I crunched the numbers, and by that I mean I put from numbers one to 37 in a random number generator, and the first number that I got was 29, and the second number that I got was 17. So that will be the score of the game, and how will we get there, you ask? That I had to work that backwards after I had got the score. I think we're obviously gonna be in store for a Sam Darnold regression game that we haven't seen yet, you know? I think maybe we have some broken plays on the defense of the Seahawks. Patriots score early. Then Sam starts getting a little desperate, starts saying, oh my God, am I gonna get back to the Super Bowl? This is my moment, I don't wanna make a mistake. Starts getting in his head, and that's when you guys know the mistakes start happening. A couple turnovers here, maybe a pick six here or there. Patriots start kind of running up the score a little bit, and Seahawks can't keep up, can't catch up at the end. To the point of being a content expert, that's a master class right there. Get to the end and work your way back. Ain't that score? No one's picking that score. 29-17. I'm going to say that's Scorigami right there. Who's going to Scorigami on the Ringer NFL show? No, please. We're done with that. Those days are over. Sorry, Solak. No more Scorigami. All right, let me ask you this. This is a content media question as well. So, you know, I did not think the Seahawks offense was going to be good this year. I ripped their offseason. I said, give me a break. That offensive line with Darnold, Clint Kubiak's not Bill Walsh. They're not going to be able to figure this out. And so my friends, great radio station in Seattle, 710 ESPN Seattle, they had me on a couple weeks ago, and they played the clip of me giving their offseason a C-. It was all in good fun. It was fun. But if what Billy says is true and Sam Darnold is the reason why the Seahawks lose this game, do I get to be like, well, see? Or is it no, they got to the Super Bowl shield. Just don't even bring that up anymore. What do you think, Deontay? The petty, the little bit of pettiness I have in me. Which I have as well. I would say you got to bring that back around. It's all good nature. It's all good nature. Okay. You know, but I think that it's fair to bring that back around for sure. All right. We'll see. Yes, 29-17 has happened 13 times in NFL history. Ever in a Super Bowl or you don't know? Never in a Super Bowl. Okay. Ever in a playoff game? Once in a Super Bowl. Once in a Super Bowl. What Super Bowl? It was the Colts and the Bears in 2007. You are correct. The rain game. Yep. The Devon Hester kick. Onside kick. Oh, Devon Hester was around here today. Yep. I'm like, who is this handsome man in this gold jacket who I'm going to follow up on a radio hit? Oh, Devon Hester. Okay. That was not the onside kick. Onside kick was Saints Colts, right? That's Saints Colts. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's okay. Yeah, Colts. It's Thursday. No one's paying attention to what we said. And for all intents and purposes, it's Friday. Yeah, that's right. I like what you did there. All right. I got a weak one. I wish I was more courageous, but I'm just sticking to the one I gave out Monday and giving out throughout the week. I do think there's a chance of a Seahawks blowout. So I like that we're represented on the Ringer NFL show with Deontay's pick, the Seahawks blowout. We're represented with a Patriots upset, with Philly's very scientific approach to this, 29 I going 24 I think it could be a bit of a snoozer of a Super Bowl if I being I hope it not We going to be on the Ringer NFL show together Sunday night so I hope we got a lot to talk about But I actually think this could be one of those where both teams are a little conservative in the first half. It's low scoring. You get to the second half. It's like, oh, the Patriots are in it by the score, but it doesn't really feel like they're in it. And then the Seahawks had a late score, and they win this game 24-16. They do cover up the under hits there. So, you know what? We didn't talk about this earlier, but I think we did a good job. One of us can say we're right, most likely, after this game, right? Yeah. I feel like we hit all angles. Now, Deontay had a great question in our little group chat. I don't know if you saw this, Billy. Let's finish the segment with this. Next year, who are the teams maybe right now, just gut feel, that you feel like we could be talking about on Radio Row? It can't be the Seahawks. It can't be the Patriots. New teams, Deontay. Who do you think? What does the gut say? I'm nothing if I'm not a caricature of myself. So I'm going to say for maybe the fourth year in a row that Baltimore will be here. Okay. It's got to hit one of these years, right? Yeah. One of these years. So to Billy's one, I'll give my answer, and then I'll work my way back. You get a great Declan Doyle offensive coordinating type of season. You get Jesse Minter turning Kyle Hamilton into the defensive player of the year. You get a healthy, great season out of Lamar Jackson, and that's who we're talking about for Super Bowl 61. On the NFC side, I think you get the old man, Matthew Stafford, comes back. They give this one more shot, and they're able to get over the hump next year. So I think we're going to get a Rams-Ravens Super Bowl 61. I like that. Billy, what do you think? Well, here's the thing. I was going to go with Rams, but I don't want to do that because I don't want to have the same teams, right? We're going to represent everyone. And so every fan base feels like they're part of this conversation. I think the Rams are the favorites, according to FanDuel. Yeah. Because it's just like they could have gotten there either of these last two years. Absolutely. And if Stafford's back's not going to fall apart, and I'm done predicting when he's going to have back issues, it's like they've got McVay. By the way, they've got two first-round picks. They've got that extra pick this year. So, yeah, I think that's it. I'm glad we're represented with at least one Rams pick here. Okay. I feel like you are going to say the Bills. So I'm not going to say the Bills. No, I'm not. You're not going to say the Bills? No. Okay. Who are you going to say? I picked the Bills this year. Okay, so you don't want to do that again? All right. If you're not going to pick the Bills. I'll go. You want to look at yours longer? No, no, I got it. I got it. I got it. I'll go with the Bills since you're not going to say the Bills. Because that's who I believe. That's who I feel. You want a coach who doesn't believe in paternity leave, doesn't believe in being there when his kids are born. Correct. That's a football guy you can get behind. who is so focused on his football family, he's not focused on his actual family. That's most of them, to be honest. Yeah, so, well, yeah. But he's got a good quarterback. Okay, yeah. It's got, look. It's like it. It's got to happen one of these years. It's got to break right for Josh Allen at some point in time, you would think, right? Yeah. So let's say Bills, and then, and this one's not really going out that much on a limb, I don't think. Who are Bears? Ooh, I had that one written down. I thought about that. You want me to switch? No, I'm going to switch. I wrote down like four free. All right. Okay. Yeah. The Bears, you know, the Bears are going to be one of these teams that in August is going to be like, in one score games, they won all these games at the game. They're lucky. But I'm also like, Caleb Williams might be the MVP next year. And Ben Johnson with that, you know, hairless physique. Who knows what he can do with another year coaching under his belt. Big Caleb Williams guy. Yeah. I was hoping we talked about him today. I was wearing a Caleb Williams shirt underneath this. Really? You own a Caleb Williams shirt? Yeah. Let me see. What has he got there? Okay. That's pretty cool. This is Caleb Williams. Did you buy that or was that a freebie? I bought it and I expensed it at my previous job. Oh. All right. I'm going to go with you went fares. All right. How about the Cowboys get over the hump next year? Oh, come on. Okay. No? Now you're being silly. No. I mean, listen. They got the quarterback. I thought Brian Schottenheimer did a good job this year. They got, you know, Quinn and Williams late in the season. They got some draft capital. maybe the Cowboys bounce back and get to the Super Bowl for the first time. What's it been, 30 years? 30 years? 30 years. There you go. Cowboys. And you know what? This is just going to be, I'm going to pick the matchup that's going to make the most people upset, I think. Chargers. I'm taking the hipster crown. Hipsters, I'm going to say the Chargers, Mike McDaniel and Jim Harbaugh, you're not going to be able to make those jokes about Justin Herbert that I make all the time anymore because they're going to get over the hump next year. You want to talk about the first Super Bowl that breaks records for hate watch? That is 100% going to be the internet. We are absolutely dunking on whoever ends up losing this game. All right, so this is good. We got six teams represented. I forgot about me. That's a good AFC team to sneak you get in there. They're good. I think they're going to be good. Yeah. All right, there you go. All right, that has been this segment. Thank you both. I'm going to come right back and do the Ringer 107. But Billy, Deontay, I will see you Sunday night as we recap Super Bowl XVI, my friends. In a brand new location. Brand new location. All right. We'll be right back with the Ringer 107. Today's Ringer 107 is brought to you by FanDuel. Final five picks of the season. We're down one to the Ringer Fantasy Show, but we get to make five picks. That's the rule this week. So we pick the pick against the spread, the total, and then any three picks that are minus 25 or better. So let's get to it. You already know my pick. You heard my pick. I'm taking the Seahawks minus four and a half. That's my first selection. And I'm taking under 45 and a half. I just think both defenses have an edge. Both defenses are pretty good. I'm a little nervous about special teams or a defensive touchdown, but you know what? I'm still taking the under. So those are my first two picks. Seahawks against the spread and the under. Next pick. First half under 22 and a half total points. I think both teams come in and say, we're not giving this game away early. We don't need to be heroes. Let's feel out the opposing defenses and see how this goes. So I've got the under first half, 22 and a half total points. Fourth pick, Matt Collins over 24 and a half receiving yards. I feel like they're going to scheme up one explosive play. Matt Collins, if they're down by a lot, now they got to throw the football. So maybe he hits that over at that point, but that's my fourth pick. Matt Collins over 24 and a half receiving yards and final pick. My voice is going. So I'm glad this is my final pick. I got a high dream before Sunday night. Ramondre Stevenson, under 14 and a half rushing attempts. That's minus 122. I don't think the Patriots are going to be able to run the football in this game. I don't think they're really going to try to establish the run in this game. I think they're going to put the ball in Drake May's hands. So I like under Ramondre Stevenson, 14 and a half rushing attempts. All right. today's Ringer 107 was brought to you by FanDuel odds subject to change alright great week in San Francisco thank you to Christopher Sutton for producing Corey McConnell on video and Ben Cruz on social had a lot of fun with Billy and the rest of our guests we will be back Sunday night after the game that will be the next show in your feed appreciate everyone listening we'll talk to you then on the Ringer NFL show 21 plus and present in select states for Kansas and affiliation with Kansas star casino or 18 plus and present in DC, Kentucky, or Wyoming gambling problem.
