Summary

Hosts Ange and Ari discuss living on mission through serving others, sharing personal stories of encountering strangers in need and opening their homes to people experiencing hardship. They emphasize that Christian faith should be demonstrated through sacrificial service, prayer, and meeting people's practical needs rather than preaching alone.

Insights
  • Serving others is a practical antidote to anxiety, depression, and self-centeredness—shifting focus from personal problems to meeting others' needs creates measurable mental health and spiritual benefits
  • Authentic Christian witness happens through everyday acts of service and hospitality, not just formal ministry settings—opening homes and showing up for strangers demonstrates Jesus's love more effectively than words alone
  • Single people have unique capacity for mission work due to fewer family obligations; singleness should be reframed as a strategic season for intensive service rather than a waiting period for marriage
  • Spiritual gifts vary by person; effective service requires identifying your specific calling (evangelism, hospitality, generosity) rather than imitating others' approaches
  • Generosity with money, time, and emotional energy yields spiritual and practical returns; holding resources loosely enables greater kingdom impact
Trends
Faith-based content emphasizing action over doctrine—audiences seeking practical spirituality that transforms daily behaviorHospitality as spiritual practice—growing interest in using personal spaces for community healing and discipleshipMental health benefits of service-oriented living—faith communities recognizing serving others as therapeutic interventionRejection of performative Christianity—emphasis on authentic, behind-the-scenes ministry over public visibilityReframing singleness as strategic advantage—counter-cultural messaging positioning unmarried status as opportunity for missionIntersection of social justice and faith—serving marginalized populations (homeless, families in poverty) as core spiritual practiceSpontaneous evangelism in public spaces—normalizing prayer and gospel conversations in everyday settings like airports and banks

He took us two girls from the pit and he brought us to life and he saved us. And now we live for Jesus and we live to talk about him as much as we can and spread the good news, the joy of the Lord. And so we say, come as you are, just don't stay that way. We work every day not to stay that way. Yeah. And he continuously redeems our life from the pit as Psalm 103 says. And when I say continuously, I mean every day. Really though. Every day. Thank you, Jesus. I love him so freaking much. I don't know what to do with myself. I know. I found myself yesterday just like weeping tears of joy. Thank you, Jesus. I can't believe it. I'm just like, I'm just, I'm so overwhelmed with joy. I just had my birthday. Yeah, guys, say happy birthday to Ari. We do this every year where we forget. Where's my cake? I want to eat a cake after the present. You got me. So our thing, Ari and I's thing is we love gift, like giving each other gifts. So every year for our birthdays, we just blow everybody else out of the water with the gifts that we get each other. She goes, no one's won up in me this year. No, I said absolutely not. She's, I mean, God really knew what he was doing with you because you really do take the place of like a husband. It's the funniest thing ever. But that's what God does. Like he provides, like I don't have a husband, but I have a best friend. And how much better is that? Honestly, I'd say it's the best. I'd say I'm pretty freaking lucky. I got my friends. I don't need anything else. But no, I, I, it was like, the greatest birthday of my life this year. Wow. Tell us about it. I just, if, like the only way to describe it is I just felt like I could see. Like I had fresh eyes. Like sometimes when you're in such a place of brokenness and healing and grieving for so long, because you guys know I've been, it's taken me three years to heal. And I just felt like this year, I just felt like I was the greatest birthday of my life this year. I could see the people in my life. I felt so much, I can't believe what God has done in me. I can't believe that I can experience this level of joy and peace. I'm not broken anymore. I'm not broken anymore. Wow. And I just, I just, I really reflected on everything. And I just, I have everything I could ever need or ask for. And I'm just, I just feel so filled with joy and peace. Wow. And it's an incredible place to be in. And I'm just, I had a moment of just feeling so proud of myself. Like I didn't compromise. I did things really the hard way. Yeah. But I'm seeing the fruit of it now. Wow. I'm seeing, it's like I'm seeing miracles in my life within my family. Yeah. And it's beautiful, it's just so beautiful. And it's like, I just feel so much peace with everything in my life. I'm seeing the miracles of the prayers of my family. You guys know my dad gave his life to Jesus. And I can't believe what he's doing in my father's life. And it's, you know, when sometimes you want to be happy, but you know, your family's struggling so much. So it's really hard to like go on and really have joy sometimes because you're like, oh, but my family's not doing well. Totally. So I've been carried the weight of that for so long. And I've just been praying so fervently for my family. And I'm seeing the fruit of it. And God is just so kind. And yeah, my dad is doing so well, you guys. He went through so much grief recently. And it's so unbelievable what grief can do. Like you think like you're never going to be okay. It's the worst thing you're ever going through. But what God does through your grief, if my dad didn't get to the level of the pit of grief, he would have never been hungry to seek out Jesus, to really find him in his own way. So through my dad's grief and prayers, he found Jesus. And he found a men's group in an amazing church that he's walking with now. And he's in Bible studies. And he calls me the other day and he goes, hey, I have to tell you something. I got drunk. And I was like, dad, I mean, my dad's been sober for six years. And I'm like, you got drunk. He goes, I'm drunk off the Holy Spirit. I was just like, my father is a different man. Wow. And sometimes I'm not going to lie. Like I believe the power of prayer, God can do anything. Look what he did with our lives. But sometimes in the back of my head, I was like, my dad's at this age. Like when you're at a certain age, you just can't change. Like that's what I always thought. But man, with the Lord, he can do anything at any age, no matter how far gone you think you are. And I'm seeing the fruits in my mother too. I mean, my mother was struggling so much just because my mom's single. So it's really hard for me to see her kind of be alone. And just seeing my mom have purpose now. And she's so full of joy. It's just so beautiful. So don't stop praying for your family. Don't give up on your family because if my family could come on the other side of everything they've been through, your skin too. And so I wanted to share that because it's just, it's so miraculous what's going on. Wow. And so I'm just so, so grateful. Your life is a whole miracle. You are a whole miracle. What I have seen God do in your life in such a short amount of time is so unreal. Like it's unimaginable what's taken place in your life. And I told you on the phone yesterday where I was like, you began at such a deficit in your life because of your upbringing and just so many things in your life. You find Jesus later. It's not even like you find him when you're 15 years old. You let God, like literally the gospel of Jesus Christ came to life in your life. You are a walking testimony, a walking miracle of that. God can actually take somebody who has no faith in their life whatsoever. You had no seeds planted on D-barbara. But like other than that, you know, you don't have parents of faith. Like you have nothing to go off of and you let God radically change your life. You were not a victim. You said, if God gives me the ability to change and overcome, I'm going to be an overcomer. And you overcame every obstacle. And you are literally a different person than you were three years ago. A completely different person from the inside out. The healing that you've received, the difference in like literally the neural pathways in your brain are different. Yeah. Yeah. And not that it's perfect 100% of the time, but it is a radical difference that shows you like truly you can go from death to life. But look at what God did through you to help me. And I'm not like, and I'm serious, like it's, it wasn't all like, and that's how God works. And I was also looking around, reflecting on everything. Like the people that he brought into my life. You have amazing people who love you so much. That love me. And this is what he does. He doesn't leave you alone and isolated and just like, go figure it out. Like he provides, he provides and the way he worked through you to help me. And I'll never start preaching about that, what you did for me and how he used you to help me. And I'm so glad that we're talking about serving today because that's the whole point. Yeah. Right? That's the whole point. And you let him, you let him, you let him, you let him work through you to help me. Thank you Jesus. Where so many people don't take that, because listen, it's not easy to like be sacrificial and listen to the same question 500 times that I, when I, I mean, when I met her, I was going through horrible obsessive compulsive thinking. I was so unwell. Many people would not sit with me and deal with that. That's just the truth. That doesn't make them bad people, but not everyone is sacrificial and you were so sacrificial in the way you served me and helped me with humility. And you could have went and I have chill bumps as I say this, but you could have, you know, did your own thing and been, you know, and been like, all right, I can't deal with this anymore. I need to set boundaries. You didn't. You, you put me before yourself day in and day out. You sat with me. You loved me. And that's why I'm so excited that we talk about this today, because that is what a servant heart looks like. Can I be honest though? I was having a good freaking time whenever Ari tells me that she was like so this and that and struggling so bad. I'm like, dude, we had so much fun. Like all I remember is the fun. All I remember is laughing with you and then answering some questions that, you know, I think, and about you is that you, one of the greatest things that the way you know Jesus is in you and what I've learned because I didn't always like exude joy because I just had that depression. So much depression like overtook me always and I never felt good. So it was really hard for me to like, I went up and down, but with you, you just, you exude joy constantly. Like you don't have that depressive. Even when you're in like the worst place, like, you'll find Angela still having joy and laughing. I'm like, like it truly is such a gift. It's a gift from Jesus. It's a gift from Jesus. And so I think with you and it's something I've learned and what everyone can learn is like when you truly walk with the Lord and spend time with Him, like you are joy. Yeah. And because you had Jesus, you were able to just like exude joy even in the worst times. And I think that's one of the most beautiful things I find in Jesus and like, how can you not want Jesus in your life? Like she's a byproduct of like the joy of the Lord. You know what I mean? And not many people really have that. Like it's hard for people to just constantly exude joy even in dark times. And you are like, you're a, what's the word? You're a... Angel. You're just such an example of that. It's pretty cool. I've learned so much from you with joy. I love you so much. All right guys, we talk all the time about protecting your peace, your mind, your spirit, but let's talk about protecting the littles in our lives too. We're going to talk about living on missions, serving others, opening your home, a bunch of different things. But Ari, wait, no, first, first, I want to say it's also, okay, Ari's birthday is also our friend anniversary. Oh, sorry, before my birthday. Let's talk about that a little. It's our friendship anniversary. And this is three years ago now, only three years. I feel like I've known you my whole friend in my life. Three years ago. We've been in a whole marriage. Do work with your best friend. They'll be your training partner for marriage. Three years ago, I walk into a job, see Ari in the corner, she's crying, she's going through so much. I sit down, grab her hand, say, I don't know who you are, but we're going to get through this together. And what I remember about that moment is you look at the cross on my cross that on my necklace. Yes. And you go, are you a Christian? Is that what you said? Yes. And I go, am I a freaking Christian? No, I love Jesus. And then Ari put me in her phone as Angie Jesus. Jesus. I wish I was still that. And then I saw you, I think I saw you at the job like preaching to girls. And I just remember looking at you and I was like, who is this? And I was like, oh my God, she loves her mom too. I was like, this is going to be my friend. It was so cute. It was so cute. It was so cute. And then we literally go on a journey of loving Jesus together. Ari, you just started learning so quickly and started loving Jesus so quickly. You were so like, okay, okay, I'll do anything. Tell me what to do. You were so hungry and so willing and so open and obedient and just like, you didn't even know what was going on. I would just watch you. I would just let you guys don't understand. I know I tell this all the time, but this girl was in, she would be in my room like screaming at the, not screaming, but be like doing repentance prayers. I didn't know what was going on. This is before girls gone Bible, before girls gone Bible. You were making videos. I was like, oh, this is her calling. And then Ari was probably saved for about 30 minutes before she started then discipling people and bringing people to Jesus. You were always like, the second you really knew who Jesus was, you just had that anointing where you were like, I can't shut up about this. Immediately your life became being on mission. Even before Jesus, your life was on mission to help people, to be there for people, to help children, fund foundations, all that stuff. And then the second you met Jesus, it's like your calling just fell into place without you even trying. You were like, oh, this is why I've always had the heart to help people. This is why I've always, I can't imagine for you, which is interesting, being someone who's always opened your home, who's always welcomed people, who's always been self-sacrificial to then read the Bible and be like, this has been the call of God on my life, my whole life. I didn't even know, but it was always in me. Isn't that crazy? Because it's what I always wanted to do. But it always fell through. I was reading my journal and I was like trying to go to schools, middle schools, high schools. I wanted to help kids with mental health and stuff. I tried to do an organization when I had a clothing line and help suicidal. I just wanted to help, but it always fell through. And I look back and I'm like, God had to prepare me for truth, to know truth before I could really step into my calling to help others. And so it's just funny how he worked because I don't know if I would, I mean, yes, we can help people and love people, but to really help people, we need to know truth and I don't know what I would have been telling them. Elijah Chakras. Well, no, I was going to say that because I hear many people say, I want to step into my calling and help people, but they're dabbling in like the sun and the earth and all these things. And if I'm not judging you, I was doing that as well. Yeah. I was. Going to psychics. I was doing, I was doing Reiki. You did Reiki? Yes, I had a girl do Reiki on me two times. Shoot. Yeah. We closed them doors. I was literally desperate, like the woman with the blot issue, doing everything I can to try to be healed. I went to psychics growing up. I did too. What did they tell you? I don't know, but imagine, sometimes I look back on my life and all the chaos and I'm like, oh yeah, obviously I'm freaking going to the psychics and she's doing a little, little crystal ball telling me what my feet, oh, get out of here. I told Angela, can we start going into, to, to psychic places and telling them to go back to your father, the devil? I was reading and I don't know. Look back to your father, the devil. I don't know if it was an ax, but that's what they did. I was like, what would people do if we started doing that? That would be so bold. That would be so bold. I don't know if it'd be the right approach. You belong to your father, the devil. So today we're going to talk about being on mission, opening your home, being there for people, the healing and the freedom that comes from serving others in a way that leads people to Jesus. And I think just obviously so many people preaching is important, communicating the gospel is everything, but it's not everything. And there are ways to demonstrate love. Scripture talks about how like God, nobody has ever seen God, but they see the evidence of him in the way that we love one another. And so literally we see the face of God in the way that we love people and loving people is for sure preaching them the gospel, but it's also serving them in whatever way they need. One of my favorite things to say is that as believers, as Christians, we're meant to see a need and then meet it and to live life truly on mission that you go out in public. And you are aware that we have a God who is constantly speaking. And I think we're always waiting for God to say these big, big, big things and do these big moves, but Scripture talks about with Elijah that God was in the whisper. Like God is in the whisper. He's in the quiet moments where he literally just nudges you and say, Hey, look at that person. He highlights somebody to you. And he's like, that person needs prayer. That person needs to know me. Maybe God gives you a prophetic word for them. Maybe you don't get a word of knowledge, but you simply get to go up and say, Hey, Jesus loves you. And I think one of the things you can say for yourself this past year is that it wasn't easy always for you to step into the boldness to go up to people because it's sometimes a little nerve wracking. We were at the airport and we were at the airport and we were at the airport and we were at the airport and I'm like sitting there. I'm like, it's like 30 minutes goes by and I'm like, where is she? I'm calling her. I'm not answering. I thought somebody stole you. And I look back and she's with this. Why don't you tell them the story? But I look back and she's holding this girl and she's praying on her. This was in the airport. I'm just telling you the story. Because it's good for people to know that because we have to have our eyes open if we're sitting there on the phone, if we're constantly thinking about ourselves and our own thoughts and our minds, we can't see, we can't hear God correctly. And there's nothing more rewarding than every day doing something nice for someone. I'm going to say every single day. Every day. Me and you were talking about it takes two seconds to even give someone a compliment. I would say that's serving someone. Yes. You don't know what somebody, every time I'm like, I take a moment out of my day and be like, I love your outfit or you're so beautiful or whatever it is. It's like, it's so rewarding to see them go like this to thank you. Like it's, this is, this is like our mission, right? To like make people feel loved and just love on one another. And that's one of the ways to serve is to help strangers, to give them compliments, to serve them. You know what someone's going through? Just giving, I mean, it's literally scriptural. It says encourage others and be encouraged. It's not even an option. We're meant to be encouraged ourselves and we are called to encourage people. Yeah. Tell them about that. I just went to, we were at the airport. We were going on tour probably somewhere and I went to the bathroom and I'm walking back and I saw this girl crying and I remember I was on FaceTime and I was in the middle of a conversation and I'm walking past and I'm like, obviously the Lord's like, hello, you're going to stop? And I'm like, I'm on the phone. You know, and I like, and I felt that little bit of wrestle and I just want you to know if you ever feel like you're supposed to stop and then you feel this little wrestle and resistance, you have to press into whatever you feel God is calling you to do in that moment. That wrestle is literally an indication that hell doesn't want you to stop for that person and God is asking you to stop. Whatever there's resistance in anything, you should lean into that and be like, what is there? What's there? So I walk past this girl and she's bawling her eyes out and I was like, what am I going to say to her? Over here on the phone and she's saying that she got scammed and needs, like she got scammed, like somebody scammed her and like took money from her or something. And I am like, okay, what do I do? So I go over to her and I like sit next to her and she's bawling her eyes out and she gets off the phone and I'm like, hi, I have my Venmo open and I'm like, can I please, I just heard you over the phone. I'm so sorry this happened. Can I please send you some money? And she goes, no, absolutely not. She was so sweet. She was from Miami. She was like, no, absolutely not. You're not giving me any money. No, no. And I was like, please just let me like, how much did she take? Like just let me bless you right now. And she's like, no, I don't want it. I'm fine. I swear I'm fine. I'm like, okay, I'm like, well, do you mind if I pray for you? And she goes, no, you can't pay for me. I'm like, no, no, can I pray for you? And she was like, oh, yeah. And then she like takes out her necklace and she has like a cross and a saint on her necklace. And I can tell like, she probably knows of Jesus. I don't think she knows Jesus and I don't think she's probably born again and really following the Lord. So I'm praying for her. She's bawling her eyes out. We're just praying together. And then I just start talking to her and I'm like, I feel this tension where I'm like, you know, ask her if she wants to accept Jesus. And then I'm like, that's so weird. Like let the girl, she's freaking crying. That's not what she needs right now. And then I'm like, what, what else does she need than to give her life to Jesus in this moment? And anytime I've ever asked somebody, do you want to give your life to Jesus and pray this with me? They've never said no. And so I'm like talking to her about Jesus. I'm telling her, she's like in a lot of whatever. So I'm trying to get her just like out of her mess of what she's feeling and experiencing and like trying to get her to focus on Jesus. And then I'm like, do you want to give your life to Jesus? I'm like, because you're going through a lot and the only way that you're going to get out of these situations is by giving your life to him and like actually following him. Like there's so much chaos in your life. And he's, he's the God of order and he will bring things into order. You've got to give your life to Jesus. You've got to turn away from what was, I was like, these friends that you have, these places you've been going, it's look where, look where it's brought you, you know, with so much love in my heart and like in my tone. And I'm like, do you want to give your life to Jesus? And she goes, you know, like I grew up Catholic, like whatever. And I was like, for sure, I totally get that. And I honor that. I respect that. I'm like, but like, we're called to be born again, to repent, turn away from our old life, to confess with our mouth and believe in our heart that Jesus is Lord and completely go a different way than we've been going. And this is a moment for you to rededicate your life to say like, sure, I knew Jesus, but like I wasn't following him. And she was like, yeah, and she was so hungry. She was like, yeah, yeah, I want to. So in the middle of the airport, she's bawling her eyes out, we're holding hands. I lead her to the Lord. She gives her life to Jesus. She repents and she makes a decision in that moment. And it's beautiful and glorious. And she wouldn't, I'd ask her again, can I please give you money? And she said, no. And I don't know where that moment went. I don't know where that girl is. I pray for her after I ask the Holy Spirit to do what only he can do. But that's a moment where you see a need and you meet it and like you stop for the one, stop for the one person. Every person matters. And for Ari and I, we go out on stages and we go on a podcast and we do massive big things. Those are the most important moments that I have. And then tell them about the story with the guy. I mean, it's just, it's important to share this stuff because these are miracles that God is doing through, like don't hide it. Like share this stuff. These are amazing things that are happening that the Lord is doing. We need to like share it. Don't hold back from what God is doing through you with people. The man that was sick yesterday. Yeah, I was at the bank and I saw this guy. He was in a wheelchair and had an oxygen tank. And I think it was maybe his wife with him or his nurse. It was just really devastating what I was seeing. And I was in the middle of doing my thing that I was doing at the bank. And I feel myself, he starts to like wheel his chair away. And I feel myself like that tension and that resistance of like, I am in the middle of something right now. Like I'm literally in the middle of doing something at the bank. There are people behind me. And there have been times in a moment like that where I choose to continue doing what I'm doing. And it's devastating. And I'm like, can you just give me one second? And I turn to the guy and I like kneel by his thing. He barely speaks English, but I'm like, I'm like, hi, I'm so sorry. You don't know who I am. My name is Angela. I believe in Jesus. I believe in a God who heals. And before I even finished saying what I'm saying, he goes, me too, me too. And he's like this older man named Carlos and he doesn't really speak English. And he can barely talk. He has tubes and oxygen. And he's like probably a hundred pounds, maybe less. And I'm like, can you tell me what's wrong in your body? And he's like, I have, I have fibrosis. They had my name. I need a transplant. They had my name on the list at the hospital. And then I call and somehow my name wasn't on the list. And he couldn't get his transplant. And I just like, he starts crying. She starts crying. I start crying. We're all crying together. It's such a holy, precious moment. And I'm like, can I put my hands on you and pray? And I just put them in. He shows me where it is. And I put my hand on his back and I pray. And I just said, Lord, you know, may the gift of healing given to me by the authority of Jesus Christ flow through me, flow through my hands right now. And I pray, you know, that every part of his body would be obedient to Christ that would come into perfect alignment, that there would be complete healing over his body, over the fibrosis. I don't even know what fibrosis is. So I don't even know how to pray for it exactly. But like, I pray that the healing, miraculous healing of Jesus comes over this man's body. And then we pray that his name would miraculously be on that list. And again, I don't see the surgery to get this transplant. Yeah. And I don't, and he left and he was so grateful. And then I just prayed like, or I told him like, do not take your eyes off of Jesus. He's with you in this. And he goes, never, I never, I never take my eyes off Jesus. And I was like, keep praying, keep, you are going to get the transplant. Your body will be healed. You're going to be okay. I said, you're not going to need this oxygen tank. Wow. Wow. And he was so grateful and the ladies crying and everyone's crying. The cashiers are crying and it's so, and the girls like, are you from girls gone by boat? And it was just the most beautiful moment. And I was having a really bad day yesterday. And I was really in my own head and really in my own stuff. And had I missed that moment, because I was so consumed with myself, like who knows, and God would have had someone else pray for him. It's not about me, but like, I don't want to miss my participation in the kingdom and what God is doing. It's the call of God on my life. It's the mission of my life to go out in public and see what people need and then be bold and pray and inconvenience myself to stop for the person who needs it. And let me ask you this, what did it do in that moment when you did that for that man in your brokenness? Oh, I mean, literally completely, I literally go, what am I even talking about? What am I even thinking about? Like, I literally go to my car and I'm like, and I'm freaking complaining about like, look what people go through. Look at what's going on in the world. My life, that's this big, my issues that are this big, like I'm not on an oxygen tank right now. It really puts things into perspective. It lets you brokenness. Yeah. But can you imagine if we all did this? Yeah. If we all were on mission, I mean, it's not weird. It's not because me and you like have a podcast that we can go like, no, you know that we can all do this. Yes. We can all be on mission for Jesus and we can all be helping and praying and serving and encouraging when we're out at the bank, we're at our grocery stores. Like, can you imagine how different the world would be? Yeah. How we're sitting in our emotions and our brokenness. How we're not going to be walking around all depressed if we're constantly helping others. Yes. That is going to lift our brokenness. Like, this is the message that we're trying to say to you guys. Like, it's transformed our life serving the Lord instead of thinking about ourselves so much. Exactly. Yeah. It is the most crucial message. Yeah. Like, this message is so important and we talk about serving a lot, but it's, this is what the Lord has called us to do. Yeah. Not live for ourselves. Exactly. But to serve. Jesus didn't come to, to, to get served. He came to serve. Yeah. All right, guys, can we talk about how cats truly run homes? We're busy girls between life, faith, trying to be a functioning adult, barely staying creative and actually showing up for the people we love. It's a little chaotic in these streets. And look, I love my morning routine. I love my coffee. It feels sacred. But at one point, my mornings became brewing coffee, adding power, mixing collagen, trying to remember adaptogens, trying to be healthy. And suddenly it was like, this is becoming a whole DIY wellness lab. And guys, we don't have time to be a barista, scientist and nutrition before 8am. Okay, we need simple. We need a morning ritual that supports us, not stresses us out. So when we found everyday dose, things changed. It tastes like coffee, but it has collagen protein, new tropics, and functional mushrooms. So you get the focus, the energy, the clarity, and your gut and brain have never been happier. Tell us about, because you live this message out better than anyone I've ever met, ever, before Jesus and especially after Jesus. This season of my life, there is so much I could update you on, so many miracles that are happening. I can't believe what's happening. I don't even know where to begin, but basically, I mean, we all have gifts and I just believe like, I just love to serve. Like, I love to be in the dirt with people. My favorite part of the shows is when I'm like holding these, holding you guys in my arms. It's the joy of my life. It literally fills my heart. If I have nothing else the rest of my life, I have done it all. I've, my heart is so full when I get to serve and love and hold people. It's the joy of my life. When I'm not doing that, I feel, I just believe that God has truly called me to this. I believe he called me to it because this is just what I'm meant to do. I went through a thing last month where I was following my emotions more than the scriptures. I was just being so led by my mind and my thoughts and my emotions and I was in a little bit of a rut and I was complaining more than I was thanking Jesus and that's okay. I think we all have needs in once. I think I was just really in my feelings and I couldn't get out of it. So I was just in a really bad rut. I could barely open my Bible. I could barely pray and so I sat down one morning and I was just like, I got really vulnerable. That's what's so good about like not hiding and bringing everything in honesty and I just started to get real honest in my prayer time and I was like, listen, I don't know. I can't even go to the grocery store. I don't feel good. I feel stuck. I'm so anxious in my mind. Help me. I literally started putting my hands on my mind. I was like, help me and I heard God so clearly say, pick up your mat and go help my people. It was one of the most profound moments in my intimacy time with Jesus that I've ever had. I heard it so clearly and I was like, oh my gosh, yes, you're right. I haven't been serving. I got so wrapped up in just like the podcast and this and work and my feelings that I just stopped serving people behind the scenes. I was complaining too much and I usually go to this shelter in LA through a friend that actually had been texting me and I wasn't getting back to and I was like, Ferede, his name was Ferede. I was like, I need to reach out to him. Like, why haven't I called him? And so I look at my phone. This is how Jesus works. I look at my phone. I have a text from Ferede. He sends me a scripture. Really, really would love to talk to you. I said, you're kidding me. I call him right away. I'm like, you have no idea what just happened. I shared to him about, you know, how God had told me to go help his people and he said, well, that is so crazy because I could sure use your help. I am helping this guy that I'm one of my friends. He dedicates his whole life to just serving and helping others and it's just, it's so beautiful to see. I pray that I can be half of what he is someday. But he was like, I'm helping these two families. I'm doing everything on my own. He ends up picking me up that day. And I go to this family's house, this single grandmother with three beautiful little kids that she's taken care of by herself and she's disabled and I go into this home and they have nothing. And these three kids start hugging on my legs and they're looking up at me. There was like seeing three beautiful angels and I got to sit with this grandmother and hold her hand and just listen to her and listen to her in her grief and help her. And then I got to go to this other home with this other little girl that I had known from the shelter and she just looked at me and she goes, Arielle, I have missed you. And I sat with her for like four hours and I just, all of that brokenness and those things that I was complaining about completely lifted. And I just looked up to God with tears and I was like, I am so sorry that I was sitting there complaining about my life. This is the whole point. You know, I'm sitting there. I'm like, oh man, I wish I had get like, I want, am I going to have kids? And then I have these three little kids hugging on my legs. And so I just, I was just like, this is exactly where I'm supposed to be. Like if you're, especially like if you're single right now, like I want to let you know that God has you on mission. Like I had this moment of being like, well, yes, you can still do like serve when you have a family, but it's different. And I'm able to serve families that don't have a lot and love on children because I don't have my own. And because I'm in a season where I can go all in. That's why when Paul says it is better to be single because you can focus on things of the Lord. You can be on mission for him. And so I had that moment of being like, this is exactly where I'm supposed to be. And he showed me that because I'm complaining about being in my singleness. And then I'm at this house till like 9 30pm. And I'm like, if I had a whole family back at home, I couldn't do this. And so I say that to, to, to you singles that are like, oh my gosh, I'm watching everyone around me. Just be on, serve with all your heart. Right. Right. It is the most rewarding, fulfilling thing you can ever do in this life. And since then I have been on fire. I have been in so I can't even tell you the joy that I have, the peace that I have in my heart. It's what we're all supposed to do as believers. And then, yeah, and then another thing I'll just share with you that a life update is like my last home that I lived in was, was a, was a home that I had to heal my, my heart from. Yeah. And I really wanted my new home to be a home of fellowship and community and ministry. I wanted to have literally a mini ministry in my home. And so before I moved in, I just, I prayed for hours in it. I had the elders of the church come and just pray over it. I mean, we prayed for days. And I just, I was in constant prayer like Lord, let that my home be a, be a home of ministry where I can serve others behind the scenes. I can help. I can bring unbelievers to Jesus. And boy is my home that I mean, the miracles that have happened is insane. It's not natural sometimes to get your hands dirty, right? Yeah. But like, I've had to take some chances. Like I have, I had a girl that you have to, okay, I just have to tell them about the AI. Ari will, we just have to pray for sweet baby R because her heart is so big that she might let anybody in her house. And we did the funniest thing because it's so believable that Ari would let like a homeless person in her house. Like it's so, like that's genuinely believable. So Ari literally, we showed our tour manager and worship leader on tour. These AI photos, we'll put them on the screen, like the AI of these homeless men and they were losing their minds. She's like, he was sitting on my bed and then he slept on my couch and then he took a freaking shower. I think that sounds like Ari Al. And he believed it fully for days because people would believe that Ari would open her home. And I hope that she wouldn't, I don't know if God called you to do it, you take Ari's, but guys also be careful. Like really thinking this may be a really convicting episode for people, but like the scripture in Matthew 25 for I was hungry and you gave me something to eat. I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink. I was a stranger and you invited me in. I needed clothes and you clothed me. I was sick and you looked after me. Like I had to like go back to that scripture and say, am I doing that? And I honestly wasn't. I wasn't doing that. Last night as I was like going through the Bible and getting scriptures, I'm like, I don't even know which ones to choose because the whole Bible is about serving others and generously giving and speaking sacrificial to the poor and to strangers and to, I mean, this is the whole Bible. So if we're just preaching, but not actually serving, then we've missed the mark here. And so, yeah, my home, man, it's been the most rewarding thing. I had a neighbor who was hurting, who I never met and I was bold enough like you to like listen to God. I was like really in a rush and I had to leave and I just heard that like little nudge and I said, hey, what's your name? And she was so kind, but she was so broken. And she was so lost and she had no, and I thank God, I like, I've let her into my home and we've prayed and she's getting saved. And there's healings taking place and I'm just, and just like, and we all can do that, right? We all can make our homes this place where we serve others and we love others and not just Bible studies, but healings can take place. Like God wants to do this through us. He wants us to have these gifts. It's insane what's happening. And it's not always convenient. It's not always, it's not like- What's an inconvenience you faced? Well, you know, I was really exhausted on my birthday. I had a long week and I was going to have people over just to kind of have cake and listen to music and chill. And I had, I brought everyone to my house and it- Whether you're solving murders during breakfast, cracking cold cases on your commute, or playing amateur detective at bedtime, Amazon Music's got millions of podcast episodes waiting. Just download the Amazon Music app and start listening to your favorite true crime podcasts ad-free, included with Prime. Into a ministry night. It turned into a complete ministry night. I mean, we were praying on people till three in the morning. And that wasn't easy. I was really exhausted. Like that wasn't something I was like, I'm going to be honest. I was like, I don't want to do this right now. Like I don't want to sit and pray and then cry. But so it's not always convenient to be sacrificial. It takes practice to be like, to put people before yourself because we're human beings. And sometimes we just want to like do our own thing and go our own way. Can I just read this one scripture in them? I have been, it's so crazy because I've read Corinthians twice. I am back in Corinthians reading it for a second time. And I am now just completely infatuated with the life of Paul, the way he didn't just preach, but he served. He loved his people. He wrote them letters. He was like, he like it cost him everything. But he just loved his people. He would be like beaten and bruised and imprisoned. And all he would say was like, I love my beloved people. I miss you. Like he would write people letters and it was all about connection for him. It wasn't just about preaching. And I'm just, I'm so admired by Paul. And we should all be like Paul, but Paul writes, when I am weak with those who are weak, I share their weaknesses for I want to bring the weak to Christ. Yes, I try to find a common ground with everyone doing everything I can to save some. I do everything to spread the good news and to share it and its blessings. Don't you realize that in a race, everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize. So run to win. All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for the eternal prize. So I run with purpose in every step. I'm not just shadowboxing. I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do it as I should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others, I myself will be disqualified. This should be the mission for all of us. And like, you have to discipline yourself and train yourself to sacrifice and to put others before you. For some people, it's just not natural. And that doesn't make you like, like we talked about this with some people, like some people have the gift of empathy. Some people have the gift, like some, and that's okay. But I don't know. I just, for me, like one of the ways that I trained myself, and I would say recently that I disciplined myself was that moment. Was that moment where I could have kept relying on my emotions, kept sitting in depression, kept just like in that pity and victim mode. But I disciplined myself to say, no, I'm not going to sit in this. I'm going to sit down with the Lord. I'm going to be honest with him. I'm going to cry out. I'm going to call my people. I'm going to have them pray for me. I'm going to be vulnerable. I'm going to keep talking about what's going on. I'm not going to sit in my emotions. And through that, like that, that's discipline. It's crying out. It's like, and then listening to God instead of relying on your emotions, rolling up your sleeves, going to serve, like that's what discipline is. Yeah. And so, yeah. And then one more thing I'll just say, like, sometimes you have to really meet people where they're at. Life is all about seeing Anita and meeting. That is what I always come back to because it's the most important thing that we can do as believers is to demonstrate the love of Jesus through the way that we care for other people. And different people need different things. And it's not always preaching them a sermon. Sometimes it is buying groceries for them. Sometimes it is helping them move into their homes. Sometimes it is just sitting on the phone with a friend and listening to them and not pushing necessarily your beliefs on them right away. Sometimes it is just being there for people, playing the long game with people, being like, yeah, they don't fully get it yet. They're not following Jesus. They're not there, but there is healing in just me being there for them. And the whole mission of Jesus was to bind the broken hearted and to set the captives free. And so I truly believe if Jesus did it, we're meant to do it. So our role in the kingdom is to continue on the work of Jesus, setting the captives free, binding the broken hearted, which means binding their wounds, patching up their wounds, bringing healing to their hearts and setting captives free. So praying for freedom, praying for deliverance, looking at someone being like, hey, you're in the middle of addiction and you don't have to live your life like that anymore. Let me lay hands on you and pray. Laying hands on people and praying for them is the call of God on our lives. You should be praying for people all the time. Your first instinct should be to pray for people. If somebody calls you and sometimes they might not even want you to pray, guess what? That's okay. Even if you get rejected, it's not a big deal, but I'm going to say nine times out of 10 times, if not 10 times out of 10 times, nobody neglects prayer, like nobody rejects prayer. So calling people and listening to them and being like, let me pray for you really quick. Let me pray for you. Being the person who prays, being the person who says, hey, I got your back in prayer right now. You can't pray for yourself. Let me pray for you. I love this verse in Isaiah 58, verses six to eight is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen to lose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke to set the oppressed free and break every yoke. Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter, then your light will break forth like the dawn and your healing will quickly appear. So the light of Jesus will break forth when we sit with people, share our food and provide shelter to people and his healing will quickly appear. There's so much healing that takes place in serving people, not even like a miraculous moment of healing for someone, but in the serving. Your righteousness will go before you and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard because serving others, especially the oppressed and needy releases healing and brings glory to Jesus. Acts of mercy literally invite his presence in. So yes, the presence of God is in a corporate worship setting where we're loving Jesus and delivering a message and doing an altar call. But the presence of Jesus, the abiding presence of Jesus that comes with us as we go. Whether you're into unsolved mysteries, solved mysteries, or creating your own mysteries, Amazon Music's got millions of podcast episodes waiting. Just download the Amazon Music app and start listening to your favorite podcasts ad-free, included with Prime. Oh, that's what the abiding presence is. The abiding presence of Jesus shows up when you love somebody. Isn't that crazy? The moment that you stop for someone and you say, you give them a helping hand, you're there for them, you pray for them. Even if you don't mention Jesus, but you provide shelter, food, money, like you do something for somebody else, especially self-sacrificially, the presence of God shows up. So it's not just these big moments, these big ministry moments that the presence of God is there. I think he loves those and it's not like an either or, but God is really involved in the everyday life. Oh, when you help his people. Yes. And then I have this, Galatians 5, 13 to 14th, you, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. We were called to be free. So if you're not free, you literally can't settle for that. I'm not fully free in some areas right now. And I know that it's the call of God on my life, so I have to get free. I have to let Jesus free me. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh, rather serve one another humbly in love for the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command. Love your neighbor as yourself. The entire law is fulfilled when you keep one command to love your neighbor as you love yourself. I wrote down freedom in Christ expresses itself through serving others. That's right. Your freedom is evident when you serve other people. That kind of love brings freedom, deliverance from self-centeredness. We talked about that a lot today and it fulfills God's heart. Like serving others is the perfect way to combat anxiety, depression, grief, self-centeredness, complaining, murmuring. And then last one, 1 Peter, verse, chapter 4, verse 10 to 11, each of you should use whatever gift you have received because all of our gifts are different. Some people preach, some people teach, some people are a gospel patron where they have so much money they can give it to people. Whatever you do, use whatever gift you have received to serve others as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms so that in all things, God may be praised through Jesus Christ. So serving others is literally how God's grace flows through us. And so all I'll say is that Jesus came to bind the brokenhearted, set the captives free everywhere that we go, everything we do should have, we should have the awareness that that's what he's here to do because he's here on earth right now. Bind the brokenhearted, set the captives free. How can I aid God in what he's already doing? How can I be a participant, an active participant in what he's doing in the earth? And you open your eyes and you ask God, what are my gifts? How do you want me to serve? We all have gifts. I know that there's an evangelistic call on my life. I know that when I give someone the gospel and ask them to receive Jesus, right? Like I've had it's just, there's an anointing, there's a grace for that. It makes sense for me. You are a servant at heart where you open your arms and your home and people feel safe with you and they can let down their guard with you and they feel like, oh my gosh, this is the love of Jesus displayed through this person. Like that's your anointing to literally just be in something with someone so that they feel less alone amongst many other things. But you know, so you find your gift, you ask God, what is it for me? Don't try to, I don't want to see what Ari does and then go try to be how Ari is. Ari doesn't need to see what I do and my gift and then try to be like me, that doesn't help anybody. What's your gift? And you can ask Jesus that and say, Lord, like help me come and power me to step into the fulfillment of what my gifting is, how I've been called to participate in all of this. Oh, that's so good. That's so good. Yeah. You said it. It's, yeah, I can't tell you guys how much joy I have been in in the past. I am overflowing with the Lord. Yeah, you are. I have just been like, there is no room for complaining because of the serving and the getting in the dirt and rolling out. I know sometimes it's not easy, but boy, is it the most rewarding thing and in the Lord, I feel it. I feel in the Lord's delight more than I ever have. And so if you're someone who is still waiting on a promise that God hasn't given you yet, you're still in this thing where like, oh, like I just want this thing so bad. Take the time while in your waiting to not wait around and go serve with all your heart. Because when you look at the life of Jesus, he was never about himself. He was roaming around with his eyes open, seeing, healing, doing miracles, even when he was tired, all he did was serve others. When you look at the life of Paul, he says in scripture, he says, I don't do what's best for me, but I do what's best in the life of others that they may be saved. Imitate me as I imitate Christ. Let's all try to do that. Let's be reminded of that. I'll just read a couple of scriptures. The generous will prosper. Those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed. If you are in a hard time right now, let me tell you the refreshment that you will feel, how much you will prosper when you stop thinking so much about yourself. Brokenness, grief, it heals helping others. Paul says, I will very gladly spend for you everything I have and expend myself as well. Paul went from wanting to, from chasing like power and all these things, to then finding the love of the Lord and then wanting to just lay his whole life down to give that to others. How admirable is that? We all, as followers of Christ, should be serving behind the scenes, as exhausted as we are being send me anyway. Roll up your sleeves, pick up your mat. This is our message today. Pick up your mat and go serve people. Yeah, one more scripture. I just left Philippians 2 verse 3, do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, rather in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests, but each of you to the interest of the others. I mean, this is the gospel. Unbelievable. Thank you, Jesus. This is literally the gospel. So when you are in a moment of just completely thinking about yourself, be reminded that the gospel is about not thinking about yourself, but serving others. And then you know what happens when you do that? God will meet you and his timing. And that's when you will see the fruits of your life just completely unfold. When you stop thinking about everything I want, want, want, and you start serving others, your life will seem like a miracle. Yeah. Because that's when God meets you when you help his people and you don't think so much about yourself. You live this message. I mean, this is the definition of preaching a message that you live every day of your life. You inspire me so much. You inspire me to be bold, to go out, to pray for people, to help people, to heal the sick. Imagine that we can go out and we can cast demons and heal the sick. Yeah. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you by the power and the authority given to us through Jesus. Lord, thank you, Jesus. Guys, honestly, we live in a world of, I don't know, boundaries are good, obviously, right? I just think boundaries at the expense of the gospel are not what God intended for us. I think you have to be careful with how extreme the boundaries are that you set. Boundaries are not supposed to be putting up walls around you for your own convenience and for your own comfort. I think the call of God on our lives is to be literally in convenience for other people, to self-sacrificially love. There's so much in my life, so many conversations that I have, so many phone calls that I have that like, there are so many moments where I'm like, oh, I really want to be alone right now. I really don't want to answer the phone. I really don't want to put out this fire. And there's a time for that if God is calling me to not answer the phone and he's like, you don't need to do that right now. But nine times out of 10 times, like, you go put out that fire. You go put yourself out for other people. You go, you open your home. You let people, Ari and I have both let people stay with us when we've had one bedroom apartment, studio apartment. They had to live in our beds and it's awesome. Like we both, and I'm not saying you have to do that, but that's the type of life that we're called to live. Like I've always wanted my home to be like a rehabilitation center for women. Like you're going through something, come to my house and Ari's the same way. Actually your house is now for sure. And so it's just like you put yourself out for other people. You put, listen to me, you put yourself out for other people. Not in a way that is a completely abandoning yourself, but selfishness has to go. Your personal comfort has to go in the name of Jesus. One more thing before we wrap up. I know that sometimes being generous with money can be difficult when you are a single woman or you're struggling or it's sometimes it's really hard. It's been even hard for me at times to be like, oh, can I give that? Like, you know, I can't tell you the fruits of being generous. Even, you know, I go back to that woman who put one coin in the jar when she had nothing, but she gave that one coin and she was so greatly rewarded. And so give what you can. Maybe sometimes I know it's nice to have nice things and stuff, but after I was with those families, I thought to myself, what am I doing getting all these things when I could be helping families? So I don't know. It's just help. God rewards you. Proverbs says one person gives freely yet gains even more. So give generously and you will be rewarded. I mean, don't, all I'm going to say is this, don't have your hands too much like this. God doesn't give you things for yourself. It's his, everything's his. So let's all be followers of Christ with our hands open, ready to give, ready to buy someone a drink, ready to just, just help and give. Don't be stingy. Not like an alcoholic drink, right? Okay. Guys, we love you so, so much. May the Lord bless you and keep you. May he make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you. May he turn his face towards you and give you peace. Shalom, shalom. We love you guys.
