Summary

The LadyGang hosts discuss the escalating public feud between podcast host Alex Cooper and influencer Alex Earl, tracing their relationship from initial collaboration on the Unwell network to recent social media drama. The episode analyzes Cooper's apparent use of PR tactics to distract from underperforming TV shows and explores theories about control, competition, and the business dynamics between the two personalities.

Insights
  • Public feuds between female creators can serve as strategic PR 'block and bridge' tactics to redirect attention from failing business ventures and negative metrics
  • Network deals that position creators as both talent and brand ambassadors create inherent conflicts when deliverables and creative autonomy aren't clearly defined
  • Female-led companies operating with cutthroat business tactics face different public perception and backlash compared to male-led equivalents, creating reputational vulnerability
  • Influencer fatigue and oversaturation of content networks is causing viewer drop-off and reduced commercial viability for even high-profile talent
  • Personal brand control and editorial authority are becoming more valuable to creators than traditional celebrity opportunities, suggesting a shift in how Gen Z values fame

You go to this PR platform that's massive to tell your side of the story. Call Her Daddy is the new people magazine."

"I think that the people pulling the puppet strings on Alex Cooper, they are not going to benefit from her being outwardly in the public eye, dancing with the stars, sexy Carl's Jr. Think about it. She's married."
Bekah TobinLate episode
"If I had $125 million, I would not be doing that on Instagram. I would just be going and framing my fast company ad and being like, this speaks for itself."
Bekah TobinClosing segment
"There's always going to be a new bright thing, and it's very heartbreaking. And I know we've seen it with Lady Gang. You think you're the shit, and you're like, oh my God, we got this TV show, we got this clothing line, like, we're the bitch. And then there's like a new podcast."
Jack VannickLate episode
"Never complain, never explain. And I think that where we've made a mistake, Alex Cooper, and I have a lot of respect for what she's built, is that she's on the cover of a freaking fast company talking about like being this business girl, and then also doing like a very embarrassing Instagram post in like a fight with another woman."

The Lady Gang. Things are about to change around here. Each week we catch up with Hollywood's hottest girl posse, Kilty Knight, Bekah Tobin, and Jack Vanick. Hello, hello, hello. You're not used to hearing us on a Wednesday, are you? We had to call a town hall because things are getting spicy. And you know, there's a lot of people out there giving their opinion on what's happening in the world. But we know that our takes are the most important and the ones you're waiting with bated breath to hear. Jack, what are we going to be discussing today? Okay, if you've been on the internet at all, I'm sure you've seen glimpses of this. It is fucking everywhere on social media. It is the battle, the battle between Alex Cooper and Alex Earl. And if you don't know the lore behind all of this, I'm going to give you a timeline so you can be in the loop up to date about what's going on because this is a really big deal. This is a big deal. There's a lot of people getting involved. There's a lot of people putting their noses in. And we do have a little bit of insider info from Kilty Knight. We have a lot of insider info. Now, will I get sued? But I have thoughts. I have insider info and I have my own take. Yeah, I think that first. Give us the jacks to invest in jacksation. Jacks to invest in. That sounds sexual. I know. Okay, so I want to start with a timeline because I feel like you can't understand the current situation that's happening without kind of going back and understanding how everything started, how they got inserted into each other's lives, et cetera. So Alex Cooper, if you don't know, she is the host of the Call Her Daddy podcast. That is how she got big. And we're going to go back to 2018. 2018 is when she started Call Her Daddy. She had a co-host in the very beginning. It was Sophia Franklin. And they had their own massive falling out that we'll get to in a second. But that's how Alex Cooper started. They started in 2018. A month after that first episode, it was acquired by Burstool Sports. Okay? Dave Portnoy is the owner of Burstool Sports who we'll also get into in a second because he has inserted himself into everything. 2020, Alex Cooper and Sophia Franklin. Why is a man here? I know. Because he just can't help himself. No. Well, he's also very funny and doesn't give a f***. And like, he's, it's great. So 2020, two years later, Alex and Sophia have this massive feud, a huge falling out, and they end up splitting ways. And a big reason was because Sophia Franklin's boyfriend at the time, Suit Man, was allegedly trying to get involved into their new deal. They were signing a new deal. Were they going to stay with Burstool? Were they going to leave? She was getting an outsider perspective from his boyfriend. And apparently Alex Cooper was like, no, no, no. We're not letting men decide. Why is a man here? Right. Why is a man here? So they have this huge falling out. Somehow, some way, Alex Cooper keeps the IP of call her daddy. And Sophia is just hoisted to the side and gets nothing. I don't know how that happens. I don't know how it just goes to one person. We have to wait for the book. Sophia Franklin is also doing a tell all later this year that we have talked about before. OK. 2021, Alex signs a Spotify for $60 million. 2023, Alex starts her Unwell network. And the funny thing about the Unwell network is Sophia was the one that actually coined the term Unwell, and they kind of used it in the zeitgeist of Call Her Daddy. And now Alex is using it for her own network. I always thought that was interesting. 2023, August, Alex Cooper signs her first pod to the Unwell network. And that's Alex Earl's podcast called Hot Mess. It was the first one. Ooh, good details. First podcast in August of 2023. Wow. During the same time, they're hitting the town together. They're hanging out all the time. They're doing all of these, like, press things together. They were best runs. Allegedly. I'm not allegedly, but you know, like, to the public eye. September, 2023, Alex Cooper has Alex Earl as a guest on Call Her Daddy. Now, I have never listened to this, but from what people are saying on Reddit, it was kind of uncomfortable. Alex Cooper is trying to push Alex Earl into talking about sex, what she doesn't really talk about. She's obviously noticeably uncomfortable in this interview. And people just kind of clock that as being like, pushy and weird. Now we're going to 2025, the Super Bowl. This is kind of where it starts kind of heating up. Unwell is doing a lot of events at the Super Bowl in 2025, but Alex Earl is noticeably absent from everything. And you would think if they were like besties, they would be together. They'd be doing all of these things together for the Super Bowl. At the very same time, Alex Earl has a Super Bowl commercial for Curls Jr. It airs at the Super Bowl. It's huge. Everybody is talking about it. She's a smoke show. She's so hot. She's eating that juicy burger. The titties are up. And I mean, that's like a huge deal to have a Super Bowl commercial, like massive deal. Huge. So also noticeably at the same time, they share a publicist. The name is Kate Bailey. Do you know who she is? Kelty. Yep. Oh, you do too, Becca? Okay. I don't know who this woman is, but she was first Alex Cooper's publicist and they were best friends. They were like hanging out all the time, like not just like work friends. They were like besties. And then Alex or Kate Bailey also signs with Alex Earl. And this is before she gets her Super Bowl, Curls Jr. commercial. So there's a lot like, I don't know, like what's going on behind the scenes. How did she get her the Super Bowl commercial? Did Alex Cooper want it? I don't know. Yep. Then we're going to fast forward to a couple months later in March of 2025, Alex makes this big post about how she's putting a pause to the podcast and the enforceable future. She's not going to be podcasting. She's vlogging. She doesn't want to get into the details. Yeah. But makes sort of like vague references that like something was happening under the surface. And then Alex Cooper responds saying it had nothing to do with her. Alex Earl is keeping all the IP yada, yada, yada. Then there's like some back and forth about like Alex Earl making like subtle vacancies about, you know, something happening. Anyways, I'm looking at my notes. I have something to add here. Hold on. Oh yeah. I want to say that I want to say it was, I can confirm sources. I don't know what I'm sources. I can confirm sources that I asked someone in the business about the business of this and they said it was an option. It was Alex Earl's option to continue or not continue. So this is correct that Alex Cooper did not fire Alex Earl. It was Alex's. Alex Earl left on her own. It was her option was up. And as we know in podcasting, that can be for a lot of reasons. If she wasn't making enough money, like, you know, the great, when we had our network, you sign the biggest stars and you hope that the show has become a hit, but you can't even the biggest, most great sparkly person on the internet can have a flop podcast. So it, you know, Alex was not, in my opinion, Alex Earl was not a fantastic podcaster. I think I prefer her as a vlogger or on TikTok. Like the puck is not for everybody. So, you know, for whatever reason, her option was up. Does she want to stay at Unwell? They, it seems like she was like, I don't want a podcast anymore. I'm going to go now. Do I think that she was treated particularly well while she was there where she was like, Oh, this is the greatest place to work. I'm going to keep going. No. And if her option was like this, I'm out. I'm not having fun. This seems like this is what happened. But it was Alex Earl's decision to not pick up her option. Well, and there is this. She was not fired. Um, she had posted like a cryptic TikTok in August of last year. Um, just her kind of like, you know, like vague posting about Alex Cooper and somebody commented saying, yes, tell it, tell us what happened with Alex Cooper. And she responded, how much time do you have? So she's putting out there that there is something underneath the surface, not just like she wanted to leave. Like something is obviously happening. Okay. Yeah. So that's all your backstory about what's going on. Now we're going to fast forward to Friday of last week. This person on, uh, on TikTok, the Bravo mom, that's her handle. She makes this TikTok about Alex Cooper and she calls her an ambulance chaser and she says quote, it's like you had the most horrific accident of your life hanging on by a thread. Don't know if you're going to make it. And she's the first one there. She's the grim reaper. She wants to be there when you're vulnerable and broken down and you're ready to sign over your rights to your life. She's profiting, profiting off of women's heartbreaks and failures. That's not girl power. This post goes viral. It's like has so many millions of views. And it was one thing of her posting that because it's like, oh damn. And then Alex Earl repost the post. So that is like co-signing that she agrees with her opinion. So this is where shit is kind of going nuts. It's crazy. And I want to say this is exactly what I fucking said a couple of weeks ago on this podcast. You cannot be both. I'm sorry. As someone who's worked in entertainment news, the reason Call Her Daddy is so big is because Jesse gets divorced. She's going to announce her divorce. You go to this PR platform that's massive to tell your side of the story. Call Her Daddy is the new people magazine. I'm sorry. It's what it is. And as someone who was asked to stand outside Becca Tobin's house the day her boyfriend died when I worked for an entertainment news show, I know this is how they get ratings. This is the job. Being an ambulance chaser is the job. And it's why so many of these celebs go. They think they're going to the safe place by going to these podcasts now, but it's essentially entertainment tonight rebirth. You know what I mean? But again, I said you cannot be Oprah and also Nancy Grace. You cannot be both at the same time. That's so good. That is such a good reference. You can't be women's empowerment. I'm going to help you show. I do. And it's hard. It is a very hard line. Here's the... Listen, I'm not particularly a fan of this person, this platform, whatever. She can spin this and say she gives these people an opportunity to get their side of the story out before. So it's like Jesse knows that her ex, soon to be ex husband is going to plaster negative things about her. So Alex could spin this. Her whole team could be like, where the place they go to be able to get their story, their side of the story. And it's exactly the same thing I said when I made Josh Jumel cry when I was interviewing him after his divorce from Fergie. I'm not the bad guy. Like I'm sorry. I've done... This is how I sleep. I'm not the bad guy. I'm just giving you a position. If you don't want to say anything, you don't have to come. But if you want to tell your side of the story, I'm here. Like that's how we sell it to you when we want to make profit off your own drama in your life. So there is that Josh Jumel did not agree to have that conversation with you. These women are agreeing to have these conversations. No, you're right. You're right. You're right. I'm not saying, listen, there are a lot of parallels between like old school sleazy Hollywood and what we have here. But I don't think she's going to be taken down or canceled for... Being an ambulance chaser. Right. Right. For the way she books her show. Yeah. For other things. For other things. For example, we had this disconnect and we had talked about this on the other when we had talked about her last where it's like, it's the Barbara Walters, or not Barbara Walters, the Oprah and Nancy Grace thing, where it's just like... And this is happening also with like the TV shows that she's putting out and like the things that she is allowing on the TV shows where it's just like either you're like a girl's girl and you're a platforming women for like the greater good or you're doing these salacious things for the clicks and the views. And there's intention behind that. So like where's your intention going? Because it can't go both places. Right. I think that that's the biggest problem with how she's positioning herself. So Alex Earle reposts the Grim Reaper ambulance chaser post. Then a couple of days go by and I think that this is so funny with the timing. Last weekend was Coachella weekend. Alex Cooper and Alex Earle were both at Coachella. We know Alex Earle, she is a party girl. She is going three days on a bender. I don't know if she's sleeping. I love her so much. And the timing of this is funny because Alex Cooper on Monday morning, the Monday morning after Coachella where Alex Earle is probably so hungover, not even awake at 9 a.m. Alex Cooper posts this video directly calling out Alex Earle. She tags her in the comments and she is speaking directly to her. She is just in a hoodie kind of like hanging out on a patio. And she is basically like sup, Alex Earle. I've seen all these passive aggressive posts that you have been making. And her whole point of the video was like, basically you just need to get specific. What happened between the two of us? There was no NDA. So come on out and say what happened because I didn't do anything basically. And then she says, quote, I'm really tired of waking up and using this fake drama to distract from the other shit that's going on online for you. Which I think is interesting because like nothing's going online about Alex Earle. I'll tell you what it is. The pump in her moisturizer didn't work for like 100 people and there's shea butter which is poor clogging in her acne line. That's what's going on. And people were very upset about the shea butter. It was a whole thing. And then the doctor came on and was like, sometimes shea butter can be good for your skin if you have acne. Anyway, I don't think it was like, it's not a level 10 drama that she needs to distract from. Well, I would say if anything is going on online drama for anybody, it would be Alex Cooper. So with everything going on at the TV show and Dakota. All this shit. So that was weird. So yeah, she posted this on a Monday morning and what I think, dude, there's this girl, that little detective girl on tech talk. She was saying how Alex Cooper's nails were bare. Like she didn't have any nail polish on. But then there was a picture from her from Coachella the night before and she had red nails. So it's like she probably recorded this last week and was waiting for the timing of Monday morning to post it. That would like with Alex Earle the most. So that's weird. Maybe she just didn't want to ruin her Coachella. Yeah, just kidding. So then obviously everybody was like, oh, okay. Number one, this is so out of character for Alex Cooper because I with any scandal that's going on between her, she just kind of ignores it. And it's been sort of like pushed underneath the rug. So for her to directly call out Alex Cooper and know that it's going to be this massive deal is a choice. So she posts this, tons of people are commenting, comments are being deleted in real time. Any comment that's negative about Alex Cooper on her own video is being deleted. And then do you guys know who Brianna Chicken Fry is? Ooh, I do, but tell me. So Brianna Chicken Fry is a barstool girl. I love her too. I think she's super just like honest and raw, whatever. She was the one that dated Zach Bryan that he broke up with her and tried to get her to sign a $10 million NDA. And then he went and married a girl that is her f**king exact twin, which that's a whole different story. So Brianna comments, ew, which is like a big thing because she also knew Alex and she, I don't know if she knows Alex Earl, but she's in the barstool world. She has a lot of mutual friends. So that's like a big thing to comment, ew on that. I couldn't find the comment now. So either has deleted or she deleted it. But anyway, Alex Cooper is deleting comments in real time. Then a couple hours goes by Alex Earl comments on Alex Cooper's posts and she goes, okay, on it with two exclamation points. So now it's like this sh** is on. And as of, we're recording this episode on Tuesday at 11 AM, less than 24 hours that we're putting it out. Maybe something will happen since then. But as of now, that's kind of like the last that happened on their posts, except for Dave Portnoy, the owner of Barstool Sports has now inserted himself into the problem, which inserted, I don't, he's very involved. I mean, they were both, Alex Earl was a barstool girl before she even got famous because she's from Jersey. He's known Alex Cooper forever. So he makes a video yesterday on Tuesday or on Monday, just being like, I think I know what the problem was. I think it was something with the Carl's Jr. commercial. Like I think Alex Cooper really wanted it. But then Alex Earl got it and brought up that Kate Bailey girl and yada, yada, yada. Then he makes another video like an hour later that he like deleted, I think, which was kind of weird. But he was basically like, I called Alex Cooper after I posted this video asking like, how was it? And she said, if you had a gun to my head, $10 million in a bag, I would have never done that Carl's Jr. commercial. I think that's a very bold statement to make because I'm pretty sure she would have done it. Like to say you're so anti this Carl's Jr. superbowl commercial is something bold, bold move. Because you know, anybody would have taken that. Do we think? No, I have some insider information here. Go, go, go, go. Yeah. Okay. So this is actually the, I have two things I need to say about Block and Bridge in a moment, but it's about the it girl thing. So I wait, can I say the one last thing about what happened yesterday and then we'll go into thoughts and opinions. So Dave posts these videos about that. And then today, Tuesday at 11 a.m., he posts like another story and he was like, I've been talking to somebody that's very close to both of them. And you know, what she said, I thought was really interesting. And then he screenshots this D, and he goes, but I don't want to ruin her reputation because you know, she's already pissed on me or something like that. And he screenshots for like one millisecond, this DM. And I screenshot it at the right time because I got it. And it was from Brianna Chicken Fry. And she just says she's going to destroy her. So I'm assuming that means Earl to Cooper. And that was the last thing that I have seen from any camp that's talking about the story. But yeah. Do we think this is a publicity stunt and Alex Orrell is going to be on call for daddy this week? I asked my sources this and they said, absolutely not. No fucking way. It would be so genius. It would be so genius. It would be so genius. The only reason I don't think it would be is because Alex Earl has like publicly hated Alex Cooper for the past couple of years. I think it would be a really weird way to have a publicity stunt. Unless they made amends behind the scenes, made amends. They squashed their beef and then they're finally like, but I, I'm sorry, but this also looks so fucking bad on Alex Cooper because now literally all the conversation is like team Alex or team Alex. And everybody, all of the comments are how much their team Alex Earl and how shitty Alex Cooper is. Like I think she's gone kind of, you know, she's made it through unscathed and done some sort of sketchy things, a lot of sketchy things throughout the past couple of years. And everybody has been scared of saying something about it. Everyone's been scared of saying anything and she just opened the floodgates. That's, and so I don't think it would be for a publicity stunt. It's not a publicity stunt. Okay, go ahead. I will say this. I, okay. First of all, this is classic PR block and bridge. We call it a block and bridge. So block and bridge is when people are talking about something that you do not want them to talk about, you block it and then you lead them to a new conversation. And I will just tell you that I did a little investigating and as someone who has had two failed television shows, I feel okay reporting on this. Several nine episodes of her new dating show love overboard were released. And after 14 days, each one was averaging about 600,000 viewers. The second lowest programming on all Hulu titles. The only thing lower is Vandafront villa, but it is lower than Washington black, future Rama, girls on the high bridge, mid-century modern, JFK, like, and every one of those goes into like the millions. Yeah, 600,000 views on anything. Like we had more than that on Lady Gang TV and we got canceled. So that's not great. Second of all, the Unwell Winter Games on YouTube has a five out of 10 rating on IMDb. The initial viewer reception was highlighting chaotic entertaining drama, but some mixed feelings regarding the cast, obviously. They're saying that there's a lot of influencer fatigue and people feel very baffled by the the production of the show. So did you wait, did you get the downloads on that? No, I didn't even look. I didn't want to give them a download. But I'll say this is that right now there they, oh, and then as my three part, I was recently in an event with someone who was very in with Target and I was saying, I was complaining about how ads have been down on podcasts and it's really influencers are down and deals are down. And I said, the only person I can see that's doing it really well is Al Scuba because she has all these huge viral videos go and you have the Unwell Drink. And this girl who's very in with Target in the same world turns to me and she goes, well, I was just with the buyer at Target and they said Unwell Drink is doing very poorly at Target. So we have three things that are not going well for this big super girl. Now I want to be compassionate here and say that she's done more than we will ever do in our lives. The fact that she's trying to produce TV shows and make drinks and host a podcast, hosting a podcast is hard enough and there's a part of me that wishes she just would have stuck with that because I do think obviously that's very successful. But I think they came in and her team came in and they were like, we want to make this like such a big brand and sell it off. And so they're trying to be everything to everyone. And that is what's causing this downfall in a way. But here's the thing, you have three things that are not going well, right? Two big TV shows and this. The first time really in her career that the thing is not working out. Unwell Vegas was okay, wasn't a superstar event like people thought it was going to be. But now everyone started to talk about this. They're like the demise of Unwell. Oh my God, the Dakota of it all on Unwell Winter Games. Everyone's like coming for her and she's like, block, bridge. Let's talk about something else. And so this is like actually. But it's not good. It's not positive. But she didn't know that. She didn't know that. I think this is all just karma. I don't think this is, I think that this is way worse than her having TV shows that bombed. Yes. But show bombs, that's not a reflection of you as a person. That's just happens. All TV is bombing right now. So it's like, I would be just as an optics. I would be far happier to discuss that my show didn't do so well as opposed to the entire entertainment industry is about to tell all of my dirty secrets and say why I'm a horrible person. April is when the world wakes up and your calendar starts getting busy. Am I right? I do believe that Alex Earl possibly had the first faux pas. I believe... Which is what? Well, here's what I think happened. Okay, this is also not source information. This is just from the timeline. I think that Alex Earl signed to the Unwell network. And when you... This is very healthy of Alex Cooper. When you sign this person, you think, oh, now they're on Team Unwell, right? Like across the board. And Alex Earl started not going to the events. Like, I do think what you said, Jack, about the Super Bowl is like, just because your podcast is signed with Unwell doesn't mean that you own me for me to be in your Instagram or for me to go all your events. And I think she actually started getting the ick and started feeling like they were using her at things like that were not contractually obligated. And so she stopped, started not showing up. And then I believe that the manager, and I mean that by manager, like the husband and the dad, because Alex Earl's dad is a f***ing beast. He's like a Christianer. Okay? So I think Alex's team and Daddy Earl went to f***ing war on what the deliverables actually meant. And I think that might have been the first thing that really split them. And then I will say this, I know from having, and I will share this at some point in my life, I was in a deal with Alex Cooper on a project and dealing with her team. And what I learned is that she actually does say no to everything. I am not, I would not be shocked that the, she never wanted the Carl's Jr. commercial. I, she's being offered everything, like dancing with the stars, traders, like they're offering her all of that. And she's turning it down. She is, will not take a deal. She does not want it. She, because she's making so much money on the podcast, but also like she really, I think they really see her as a very serious, like they really do see her as that Oprah of Gen Z. And that anything that goes into just being a celebrity, they say no to like this girl's turning down half a million dollar, million dollar deals all the time for stuff, which is crazy. But then you can't be mad when Alex says yes to the thing, right? So like she says yes to Carl's Jr. She's the hottie. She says yes to dancing with the stars. America falls in love with her. Like you can't be mad that the younger, hotter, cuter girl comes in and does the Hollywood game better than you because they have kept her, they've kept Cooper so on this pedestal of like that's below her. She's this and like, I have a theory. Lost the plot on what makes someone famous and relatable and lovable to American. I have a theory. What is it? This is just my gut. Just came to you? Yes, it did. I, I, I hope I'm wrong. I think that the people pulling the puppet strings on Alex Cooper, they are not going to benefit from her being outwardly in the public eye, dancing with the stars, sexy Carl's Jr. Think about it. She's married. Carl's Jr. My husband may or may not be thrilled about me being basically a pasty. Would he like the 10 million dollars? Yes, he would. He'd take it. He'd suck it up. But like I think there may be someone on team Alex Cooper who wants to keep her behind the scenes, but capitalize on something that she has built because the more she gets out there dancing with the stars, all the things, the more likely she is to blow her life up. And you know what I'm talking about. And you're talking about the husband. Yes. He is a genius. Do you think he doesn't want to get her around other men because maybe she would want to? I don't think it's, I don't think it's men. I think I don't think it's men. I think he knows that what she has is she has created something very powerful, right? But he also, maybe if he's a bad person wants to keep her very contained in that as well. So she kind of remains the Wizard of Oz by not going out aside from her podcast. That's the only forward facing thing she's doing. But if she were to go do sexy dancing on Dancing with the Stars, go do Traders, go f***ing go web. It's not even about f***ing, it's about losing the cash cow that she is and not being able to control. But can I say this? Wait, let me say, I want to say something. It's on top of that. I think it's also, she gets to control what she puts out there about her personality and about how people view her. Yeah. Yeah. Once you're putting, once you're entering something else where you're not the editor and you're not the CEO of how people perceive you, then there's an issue. And also, I will say that Alex Earl is so likable. She's such a naturally likable person. She comes from a good family. She just seems so fun. I want to hang out with her. This is the thing. Nobody feels that way about Alex. This is what I'm saying is that Alex Cooper is, she's a little bit of a K-type. She doesn't actually want to go out. She's not a party girl. She's like, you know, when you wear a black dress to the Golden Globes, I don't think she is. I think she wishes she was. I think she wishes that she had the seven enneagram of her, Jack Vanneke, where she was like that girl. But I think she's a homebody. I do think, and that's why she had so much success with Caller Daddy, because I do think she's that girl who wants to be in her home, not go the f*** out, be in her sweatpants, and make her a little, make her a little, make her massive show. I think all the Hollywood shit, she's like a little bit of a, she doesn't want to do that. And so then, Alex Earl is the opposite. And she like f***ing loves that. She's going to go be at Coachella for three days and not sleep. But you can't be mad when the girl, there's always going to be a new bright thing, and it's very heartbreaking. And I know we've seen it with Lady Gang. You think you're the shit, and you're like, oh my God, we got this TV show, we got this clothing line, like, we're the bitch. And then there's like a new podcast. And then Giggly Squad comes, and you're like, what? We were that girl, like, you know, and it sucks. But it's the same way in music. You're Madonna, and then comes Mariah, and then comes Ariana, and then comes Sabrina. Like, there's always a new hot thing, and it is f***ing destructive when you are not the new hot thing anymore, and you don't know what to do about it. And I think- I would also be very upset if when I was the hot thing, I didn't get to have sex with Tom Brady. I know, you don't use your fame to the full potential. Instead, she did what she did. And she's probably also a little salty that she didn't capitalize on being the hot new thing and having the opportunity to bone babes. But I think the thing is, is that like, you have to be like, okay, so this is a bad example, but you know what, Usher found Justin Bieber. Usher was like a pop star, and he found Justin Bieber, and then Justin Bieber became the biggest star in the world. You have to be happy for that person that you discover. So if she's going to put Alex Earl on the Unwell Network, and then Alex Earl is going to blow up, you have to be excited that this person has blown up. But like, as a woman, and as a twin, like, I think there was- there's something going on there where like, they are not happy for each other, and there's a competition, which they basically are twins. Like, this makes complete sense that there would be- All the comments on Instagram, you guys, I actually did put something together for us to enjoy was my favorite comments underneath some of this Instagram posts in regards to it. Let's go, read it. This is my favorite. I genuinely thought they were the same woman until now. I'm so sorry, Alex's. And then there's a lot. Wait, hold on. This is the other one that I love. Whoever loses in Alex versus Alex has to dye their hair brown. I heard that they're actually one of the big fights was over the trademark for Big Al. Big Al. I heard that too. I heard that too. Wait, I do want to say- wait, what was I going to say? Oh, I was going to say something about her signing her to the network. There is like all of this talk about, you know, it's like keeping your enemies closer. And if she had control of Alex Earl's podcast, she could always keep it beneath her. And there is something that happens with any podcast that signs to her network. It just goes away. Doesn't do well. Yeah, I think we know people that had podcast there that like, you know, it just wasn't a friendly working environment. And I think that it was like, you get so excited because you get to join the Unwell thing. And then like, you're having Unwell show and they don't invite you to the thing in Vegas. Like that's so weird. Like it's like, you're either in or you're out, you know what I mean? And so it's, it's, listen, running a company is really hard. We had a network on a very small scale and it was fucking brutal. It's so difficult to produce other people's shows. That's why there's like three networks doing it. Also, I think this very interesting Hulu versus Netflix. I mean, there's so much, you guys, there's so much here. You know, our old showrunner from Lady Gang TV is going to be the showrunner of Alex Earl's new show. Oh, really? Trish? Oh, she's gonna have all the dirt. And Trish is also the showrunner on freaking summer house. God, she's making good TV. I texted her last week and I said, if there was one person in America that I could drug and make them tell me all their secrets, it would be you right now. And what you're saying? I got some, I got some like, hot tea. Not gossip, just like perspective of somebody who's like actually knows these people, has been in the world for so long. And she's also such a level headed like observant person. So it was interesting. But I'll tell you this, George Clooney, one of the biggest movie stars in the world. I know he's an old, old guy, but he has this saying, never complain, never explain. And I think that where we've made a mistake, Alex Cooper, and I have a lot of respect for what she's built, is that she's on the cover of a freaking fast company talking about like being this business girl, and then also doing like a very embarrassing Instagram post in like a fight with another woman. Like if I had $125 million, I would not be doing that on Instagram. I would just be going and framing my fast company ad and being like, this speaks for itself. Like you can say whatever. And the thing is, is that like, again, I think Alex Cooper and the company possibly have been quite mean to people and have been hard and cutthroat and like maybe acted like a man would in business, but like coming from a female, it feels weird. So I just want to give her like the respect of like, it is very hard to be a female and then to him visit at the helm of millions and millions and millions of dollars. And I think that we got it wrong a lot. And I think that's what the legs that Alex Earl is going to stand on. But at the same time, like just have your fast company be on the cover of fast company. Like just be that girl, let Alex Earl go to Coachella and hate you a little bit. Like don't get involved in the petty shit if like petty shit is for us, you know, that's why you're not, but you're telling me that Kelty, even if you were in that position, you wouldn't also do the petty thing. It's a, it's a, I would Alex Earl it all day. She would do the quiet petty thing that nobody would know. I would do the quiet petty thing, the passive aggressive thing all day. I would net like, actually, because again, like Alex Cooper is giving very them theory right now, which is just like call people out on their bullshit and make them explain it to you. But it's going to backfire because knowing what we know behind the scenes, like I know 10 people that have a horrific Alex Cooper story or Alex Cooper camp story, like it's either directly her or it's the people working for her and how they've made these bad, hard decisions and played it so hard that they pissed a lot of people off. And now everyone's going to come out of the woodwork being like, here's my story of when she was like, that's why, I can't imagine it's a PR stunt because it's like you just to risk yourself over. I do like that somebody said, I think she was crying in the closet and had a, had a countdown and no one stopped her and like they should have stopped her because this is going to backfire in a way because now we already had Sophia's book coming now with Alex and then I, you know, other people on the network and stuff, their NDAs are going to end and they're going to say their story too. And the thing is, it's like, it's okay. It's okay that you were a bitch, but you were a bitch, allegedly. Someone said white on white crime never gets old. I mean, I'm here for it. Okay, we could talk about this all day. You guys wanted to hear from us. You did. Here's your bonus episode. Enjoy bitches. See you tomorrow. Bye. Lady gang is hosted and produced by Kelty night, Becka Tobin and Jack Van Ack with social media support from Kali Carrera, audio and video editing from Jared Monaco and additional support from Steve Dellometer and podcast one.
