Summary

The Salty Chip Podcast discusses the ongoing scandal involving Taylor, Dakota, and Jessie from the MomTok/Secret Lives of Mormon Wives franchise, including domestic violence allegations, canceled projects, and the collapse of related reality TV productions. The hosts analyze the toxic behavior, its impact on brands and networks, and the contrast with Whitney's successful exit from the group.

Insights
  • Reality TV networks face significant liability and brand damage when continuing to work with talent involved in documented domestic violence, as evidenced by Hulu and Vanderpump Rules' editorial decisions
  • Double standards exist in how domestic violence is portrayed and handled in media depending on the perpetrator's gender, affecting public perception and accountability
  • Strategic exits from toxic group projects (like Whitney's departure) can lead to greater individual success than remaining affiliated with declining franchises
  • Mental health crises and unaddressed behavioral issues in public figures create cascading business failures across multiple revenue streams and partnerships
  • Social media behavior following scandals (posting content without acknowledgment) can be perceived as manipulative and worsen PR outcomes rather than mitigate them

Welcome back Salty Fam. If you haven't already, like and subscribe. So today we're going to get into the updates of what's going on with Taylor, Dakota, and Jessie. And just when you thought it couldn't get more toxic, they always seem to outdo themselves. I know. It's just, it's definitely spiraling downhill for sure. So after having The Bachelorette canceled and they have canceled filming for Secret Lives of Mormon Wives or they paused the filming so who knows if they'll pick it up I don't think that they will I feel the same half the girls have moved to LA and it's just Jessie, Taylor and I think Miranda I don't know if she's in LA or not but I don't it's such a train wreck that if they do pick up filming was this all some publicity stunt to boost the season You know, it's just so crazy. It's like. I think that they are trying to do the spinoff in L.A. with the other girls. Which I think that like could work. It'll be interesting if that's going to be like very mom talk centric in naming and branding or if it'll be kind of like totally new sort of thing, which I feel like they got to just get away from it. It's like this should put that to bed. Yeah. So Vanderpump Villa and Lisa Vanderpump had come out and said that they are pulling Dakota from their episode. So I think that they'll still show dad talk coming, but edit him out. Yeah, that's what I'm thinking, too. Which is interesting because he was like the main storyline for that episode that was going to be aired because he had slept with one of the girls there. Which is just crazy. Yeah, you know, yeah, for sure. You know, that was probably going to be the whole the whole thing. The big story of it. Oh, my gosh. Yeah. so a lot of things have been pulled and taken and um it's just been really crazy for reality tv fans to be honest and like it's just interesting them back together because like you said there's the whole no contact order the whole custody order thing and that's not going to get ruled on till like april 7th yeah but they're already back together it's not even april 7th the time of recording this you know yeah not supposed to be able to be around ever or have any type of visitation yet on april 4th she posted on her stories that she is back with the man she said she was done with which obviously we know that's dakota for sure and so it's just very upsetting that um you know ever had witnessed the last domestic violence and obviously from what we've seen she does this in front of her kids and her kids you know get hurt because of her rage outs and she doesn't stop once she does hurt the kids. She doesn't, like, come to her senses and say, oh, crap, you know, I can't believe I just did that. And that it just stops. She doesn't instantly snap out of it once she realizes what she's done. She like is screaming at Dakota it his fault She continues to go on and on and on and no checking in on the kids and their safety and how they are And it just a mess It's not how we want reality TV drama to be played out on our screens. It's like too intense, too sad. This is not the kind of drama people want. This is just straight up like crazy. Domestic violence. Like we're witnessing a family that could potentially go, you know, go snapped mode. And just how crazy it is. Like no one should support their relationship or like film and work with them during it. Like it's so toxic. Kids are getting hurt in it. It literally just destroyed a hundred million dollar season on The Bachelorette. And then they're back together. like and so they're gonna go pick up cameras and film them but like no like it's just they need to just be done with her so toxic i mean even mom talk said we will not film with taylor because she is so toxic and mentally unstable and she has a clear history of domestic violence and i feel like there's this double standard if this was a guy that was doing this to his wife people would be outraged the children would be taken away you know they'd be sticking it to him but because it's a girl that beats her man or beats her kids like it's looked at differently which i feel like is so wrong on so many levels because when you see that tmz leaked video you cannot unsee it or unhear it and that was insane no child should be in a household that that's going on it's so crazy and doing like exact it's so crazy how they fight and how you know what it can spin out to that even just filming with them like is supporting them and doing it it's like that is not good like you are like supporting addicts destroying themselves and their kids and hulu hiding it her mom hiding it then going on podcasts after it happened back in 2003 and saying nothing happened to the child when we all know something did now you know it's all just awful and she is just so insane that like her second post from all this is with the daughter yeah who's in the video which is just like and she hasn't made a statement or anything about the video but then she does a post it's just like it's so manipulative and like sociopathic yeah the daughter's like singing and then it pans to taylor in a shower yeah like this is inappropriate first of all clearly she caters her you know content towards a lot of men like let's be honest like oh yeah he's half dressed in a shower like dancing permissive and always alluding to the fact that she's a swinger or used to be yeah like that's gonna intrigue a lot of male followers you know which i feel like mom talk does have tons more male followers. Like a big portion of their numbers are probably dudes just watching them like shake their ass all day on the thing you know right and it just it honestly a nightmare like i couldn even imagine hasn't made a single statement about any of it acknowledge any of it but then does a post where it's like just it's it's just like such poor taste yes such poor taste and like horrible pr management like she's clearly manic and then she had her another post yeah just in a perpetual state of mania yeah and it's devastating that no one will get her the actual treatment that she needs she needs like 90 days in a mental facility and to like really go hard factory reset yeah Yeah, really go through like the steps to get better and anger management therapy. And like this girl, if this isn't rock bottom for her, which I have a feeling she doesn't even consider this rock bottom. Like, no, this is sad. She probably doesn't even consider this low. Yeah. You know, she's like, I'm on the up and up. It's like, oh, my God, Taylor. And I just can't imagine many brands wanting to work with someone who is in a constant manic state. You know, will they show up with the guy of all this crazy? Yeah. You know, like any brand has to be and promote domestic violence. They have to be straight up. OK, with promoting domestic violence relationships, if anyone's going to work with her. Yes. And like, it's so crazy. It is. It really does. So it'll be interesting. like we will know in a couple of days what will happen with this child protective order and um i'm sure it's gonna get dropped nothing's gonna happen they're back together now so you know he's not gonna be pressing any he doesn't press charges on this last domestic violence then her misdemeanor that she was on probation for i think yeah nothing can happen yeah like they can't say you violated it unless there's like new charges that actually show up but just like shit happening without any charges they're like well we can't do anything because it hasn't been like triggered you know yeah so if he does press charges then she could get a felony yeah all those original charges would like just hit instantly plus the new ones you know right right which is wild and then you know we go on to jesse and marciano's news this week because you know jesse if somebody else is having a scandal she's got to copy it at the same time yeah like reinvigorate her scandal yeah so now she's back with marciano and you know they were seen um at their date night he was also seen at her home so he is in salt lake city right now visiting her and they're rekindle rekindling their posting videos them like holding hands walking yeah romantic music playing it's like you know Jordan is just dying inside Oh yeah for sure It been so up and down for him For a minute it looked like oh man the prenup not gonna stick he gonna like make out like a bandit yeah it like nope prenup sticking marciano's back he's down he'll still probably get a good enough chunk each month and like child support but it's probably not gonna be like obviously what he's used to no and he probably he likes the fine life that she was providing and him not really having to do anything for it you Which I don't think it'll be that much. And he knew his day was coming soon because that's why he's pushing dad talk. Yes. Yes. Yeah. So he's obviously trying to do something with dad talk as like his financial. Yeah. For sure. Means. And you wonder if he'll with Dakota and dad talk like is as he's like posting with him still or is like, you know, they both are just going to totally die from. I mean, if mom talk dies, dad talk is for sure dead. Oh, my gosh. It's just, it's a mess. Well, part of dad talk, you know, some of them have moved to LA. Some of them might still be back in Salt Lake City. Like, I don't know if Jace is still going to move out to LA and help with the kids. Or if he's back in Salt Lake City and just going to get like a normal job, you know, and have the kids for the summer. It all just kind of fizzles out, you know. Yeah, so it's a lot of changes, I think, very quick for the whole group, you know. but it explains why Whitney wanted out so bad oh she could see it from season one they framed her as the villain but really she was the smartest one in the group was like this is a sinking ship I don't want to be I know that there's shit going on I don't want to be related it was a sinking ship it was like I need to just maximum leverage this and launch out of here you know yeah so I mean I don't blame her and they did a good job of editing her as the villain but really totally but as the dust has settled she is like the victor for sure you know yes um her chicago made like over 1.4 million which is crazy wasn't it like the biggest one in 20 years or something like that like yeah which good for her you know like she really did launch out killed it on dancing with the stars killed it with chicago you know fans are pressing for a spinoff of just like whitney and connor and like what they're doing and everything which i think it would be really cool too i'd rather watch that than more mom talk secret lies of mormon you know like jesse and taylor are just so trashy that it's like this should not even be supported yeah like this is getting like like this will be how everybody's looking at tyra banks's show like and they'll be looking at this the same way like this was so deranged and unhinged like how did y'all show this yeah how did people you know prop these people up for so long with all this craziness you know can't go on anymore with this no like it has to stop yes would much rather see like a whitney and connor spinoff or something yeah for sure i agree well i can subscribe for more and we'll see you later salty fam
