Well, my wife and I are thinking of making a big trip. We have some cousins in Mexico, probably go to Europe. She has a cousin in Italy. We're thinking maybe, of course, taking one of those river cruises. It's very preliminary. We're talking a year and a half ahead of time. We just started thinking about it and I'm in an intensive study program where I study an hour from a lecture through my phone, like an hour a day. And I'm wondering, how do I deal with. What's the best way to deal with an iPhone while in Europe? I know an international traveler. I asked him, he said, oh, it's easy. Just do that. I was so confused.

And you're like, okay, what was da da da da da? Okay, what was that? Did you start back at the first da da da? And was that a capital T or a D? I'm not sure.

And actually it was worse because there was a guy right there, he goes, oh, I travel too. What I do is a whole different thing.

It's the battling da da da. Okay, well, here's the deal. A couple of ways you can do this is whatever carrier that you have, they all have international plans. And so you call them up and you say, I'm going to be landing in London and the moment I land in London, I want my phone turned on. And they will, they will charge you anywhere between 10 and $12 for that for the day. And. And then there is some overage. So you want to make sure at that point you turn off all your background refreshes and any notifications. And so it's just bare bones, minimum data. The better way to do this, the da da da way, okay, is that if you have an iPhone, is that it has a built in ESIM or electronic sim. Super easy to do. You just go to a website like holafly, Nomad, Sealy, and you download an international ESIM app. This is what I do. You buy a data plan for Europe and you activate it and then you're connected. The moment that you land, no physical SIM needed at all. And it's probably half the price with the carriers. Now, the third way is, which is the da da way is that when you land in whatever country that you're in is that you physically buy a SIM card, which you can do depending upon your phone. It's a total hassle because then as you go from country to country, you might have to swap cards and then your US number won't work. So the thing that you want to do is just look at ESIMs. That's ESIM.
