As we spend time listening for God's voice, there are moments when He invites us to step out of our normal routines and to follow Him more intentionally. Bible Study Live is an in-person Bible study experience that I've built around traveling with that kind of purpose. We gather to open scripture together, to pray, to learn and walk through the Bible in community, all while being fully present in these meaningful places. We've recently added a second location, and many of the spots are already filled by alumni who've gone on previous trips with me before. Because of that, space is limited. If you've been sensing that God may be inviting you into a deeper season of growth, I'd love to have you join us on one of this year's trips. You can learn more at BibleStudyLive.org. Welcome to this time of contemplative prayer. Today, we're focusing on the promise of God's strength in our weakness. We all experience moments when we feel like we've reached our limit. Our strength fails. Our exhaustion settles in. When the weight of life feels like too much to carry. but scripture reminds us we are not meant to rely on our own strength. God's power is made perfect in our weakness. His grace is enough. For these next few moments, Allow yourself to rest. Set aside the pressure to be strong enough on your own. Let go of striving. God is already here, ready to meet you. Take a deep breath in and slowly exhale. let go of anything pulling at your mind settle into the stillness find a comfortable place to sit or lie down let your body be in a place of rest Close your eyes if you like. Feel the support beneath you. Steady and moving. You safe here You held here Take a slow deep breath Hold it for a moment and then release it slowly As you inhale, breathe in the truth that God is near. As you exhale, let go of any burdens you've been carrying. anything that feels too heavy for you today. Notice your shoulders. Let them drop. Relax your hands. Soften your face. If you're holding tension anywhere in your body, let it go over the next couple breaths. as you inhale breathe in the truth that God is near and as you exhale let go of the burdens you're carrying God does not ask you to carry the weight alone right now he's offering you his strength breathe in the truth that God is near and let go of any burdens you've been carrying as you breathe out a couple more breaths now let's turn to scripture listen as I read these verses over you and receive them as God's personal invitation to trust in his strength. 2 Corinthians 12, 9 and 10. But he said to me, my grace is sufficient for you. For my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. Why do you feel weak today? Are there areas of your life that feel heavy? Hear these words again. My grace is sufficient for you. My power is made perfect in weakness. Inhale his strength and exhale the burden. inhale his strength and exhale the burden Isaiah 40 29-31 he gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall. But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not be faint. God does not grow tired. He does not grow weary. and he offers that same renewal to you. Where you are weak, he is strong. Where you are weary, he brings renewal. Breathe in his strength and breathe out the burden. breathe in his strength and breathe out the burden psalm 73 26 my flesh and my heart may fail but god is the strength of my heart and my portion forever even when you feel like you have nothing left to give even when your body is tired even when your heart feels weary, God is your strength. He is enough. Breathe in his strength. Breathe out the burden Breathe in his strength Breathe out the burden What is an area of your life where you need God's strength right now? Or where do you feel empty? Or is there an area where you feel like you're not enough? Imagine holding this weakness in your hands. Feel its weight, the exhaustion, the worry, the struggle. Now, picture Jesus standing before you. His hands are open. He is ready to take this weight from you. Slowly release your burden into his hands. Let him carry what you were never meant to carry alone. Breathe in his strength. Breathe out the burden. in his strength. Breathe out the burden. Now as you breathe, whisper this simple prayer. Your grace is enough. Your strength is my strength. breathe in your grace is enough breathe out your strength is my strength breathe in your grace is enough breathe out your strength is my strength let these words settle deep within you let them remind you that God's strength is filling the places where you feel empty and you do not walk alone as we walk through this season of Lent we are reminded that Jesus himself experienced weakness He knew hunger. He knew exhaustion. He knew the weight of sorrow. And yet, he surrendered to the Father's will. He did not fight for his own strength. He rested in God's. As Jesus carried the cross, he stumbled beneath its weight. and yet he kept moving forward. The strength that carried him was not his own. It was the strength of the Father sustaining him. Lent is an invitation to surrender just as Jesus was surrendered to the Father. It's an invitation to stop striving, to stop trying to carry what you were never meant to carry alone to trust that when you are weak he is strong where in your life do you need to surrender today where do you need to let go and allow God's strength to carry you God, I release my weakness to you. I let go of the pressure to be strong on my own. Your grace is enough for me. Your strength will carry me. When I feel weak, remind me that I am not alone. When I feel weary, renew me. when I feel like I can't go on, remind me that your power rests on me. Just as Jesus surrendered his strength, help me to surrender mine. Teach me to trust that you are enough. Let me walk through this Lenten season with confidence, knowing that when I am weak, you are strong. take a deep breath in and slowly exhale. When you're ready, open your eyes. Walk forward today knowing that you do not walk alone. God's strength will carry you. More Evangelical in Jesus
