Summary

Governor Gavin Newsom responds to federal criminal investigations initiated by the Trump DOJ by releasing a video accusing Trump of weaponizing the Justice Department for political purposes. Newsom argues the investigations are retaliatory for his presidential ambitions and criticism of Trump, while countering with allegations of Trump's corruption, self-dealing, and abuse of presidential power for personal financial gain.

Insights
  • Political figures are increasingly using direct video responses and social media to counter federal investigations, framing them as politically motivated rather than engaging through traditional legal channels
  • Allegations of presidential self-dealing through stock trading, business promotion, and cryptocurrency ventures are becoming central to political opposition messaging
  • Family members of political figures are being targeted in investigations, raising questions about the scope and intent of federal prosecutions in polarized political environments
  • The politicization of federal law enforcement is a key narrative in 2025 political discourse, with both sides accusing the other of weaponizing DOJ resources
  • Inflation and cost-of-living increases are being weaponized as political talking points by state-level officials against federal administration policies

He hates that I consistently call him out. He is simply the most corrupt president in American history. We have nothing to hide. Mr. President, come after me. I am not going anywhere. The country is watching now. A person familiar with the matter confirmed to The New York Times that there are multiple federal criminal investigations underway relating to Governor Newsom including one looking at his wife's finances, his wife's nonprofits. The person says, no, this is not being initiated by Trump and the feds in DC. This is being done independently from California's United States Attorney's Office, which I know we all know isn't true. But that's what they're saying. Here's the video that Newsom just released moments ago. Let's play it. In recent days, federal agents have knocked on the doors of family, friends, and former employees. Not because they found a crime, because they're simply trying to find one. They're demanding records. They're abusing the grand jury process, digging through years and years of random documents. Donald Trump isn't just coming after me because of my mean tweets. He's coming after me because I'm considering running for president. Because he hates that I've consistently called him out over and over again for his lies and deceit. Donald Trump is simply the most corrupt president in American history. He's turned the levers of government into his own personal power ministries to reward cronies and to try to jail his opponents. His personal attorney now runs the Department of Justice, which has repeatedly gone after his political enemies. Ask Jerome Howell. Sent them after James Comey, Trish James, Adam Schiff. He sent them after Tim Walts. And a woman that a jury found Donald Trump had sexually abused. One by one, anyone who has challenged Donald Trump has ended up on his hit list. And today, I proudly join that list. After calling for my arrest last year, Donald Trump directed his Department of Justice to investigate me. And just in the last week, I've learned that his campaign has reached my own home to get me he's coming after my wife, Jen, a public servant, a woman who's dedicated her life to supporting women and girls. Someone who has done nothing wrong, other than having the temerity to advocate for what she believes in. If they can't intimidate me, they'll go after the mother of our children. Donald Trump picked the wrong target. We have nothing to hide. His political operatives can take every record and read every page, but they'll be looking in the wrong place. Because if they really want to find corruption, look no further than 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Donald Trump is selling the presidency. He's running the largest cash heist in American political history, trading foreign tariff relief for approval of his golf courses, day trading behind the Resolute Desk, reaping hundreds of millions of dollars in personal profit. And he's doing it openly. He's doing it on camera. He did it last night on the White House lawn. He's doing it through cryptocurrencies. He's doing it through the receipt of a $400 million private jet from a foreign government that he plans to keep when he leaves office. Through his sons' ventures in countries where his own administration is simultaneously making policy. His personal fortune is skyrocketed by $4 billion since making his return to office. This is the behavior of a regime, not a republic. The White House has become a marketplace, a marketplace for sneakers and coins and watches, cologne, guitars, bibles, and phones. Influence for sale, access for sale. And today, my family and I can personally confirm that justice is for sale. To Donald Trump, who I know is watching because he watches everything, I have a message for you. You can subpoena my records. You can investigate me. You can harass me. Put my name on every and any enemy's list you have, but leave my wife and family out of your personal vendetta. I like to say something to my wife. These times are not normal. They're not ordinary. I love you, and I'm sorry he's doing this. You have not earned a single one of the indignities that he's trying to inflict on you and our children. And to Donald Trump, this country, this country does not belong to you. It does not belong to your cronies. And we're going to fight your lawlessness. And we're going to continue to remind the people of this country of your corruption. That same corruption our founders warned us against as we move to celebrate our 250th anniversary. I'm going to keep reminding Americans of what they warned would happen if a man with no character ever held the office of presidency. So let me say it again, Mr. President, come after me. I'm not going anywhere, and the country is watching. Are you one of those people who loves coffee, the taste, the smell, the whole ritual, but the caffeine sends you straight into an anxiety spiral? Because same. I love trying new coffee shops and fun seasonal drinks, but one full cup and suddenly my heart is sprinting and my brain is running in five different directions. That's why I love mud water. Same morning ritual, coffee, chai, or matcha, but with functional mushrooms and adaptive genins instead of a full caffeine hit. Steady energy, no spiral. I've been loving their original blend. It's cacao, chai, turmeric, and functional mushrooms. It's like a spicy hot cocoa, warm, grounding, and actually satisfying. For coffee shop lovers who just can't handle the full caffeine load anymore, mud water is the version of your morning drink that you didn't even know existed. Because loving coffee shouldn't mean negotiating with it every morning. Mud water is a coffee alternative made with mushrooms and adaptive genins, about one seventh of the caffeine of coffee. So you get the focus energy without the jitters, crash, or anxiety. The best way to start is the starter kit. It's designed to set you up with everything you actually need and to build the habit. When you order, you get the full size tin of your chosen blend plus a free rechargeable frother, free gifts, and free shipping. Ready to make the switch to cleaner energy? Now, before we learned about this criminal investigation launched by the Trump regime into Newsom, California Governor Gavin Newsom posted the following image. 80 years old, happy birthday, Mr. President. Also, 80 is the new 100 with a birthday boy cap on Donald Trump right there. Newsom also put out the following repost. California Governor Gavin Newsom says Trump is using the White House to promote companies he holds stock in and enrich himself. Newsom says, true. We learned from a report earlier today from CBS that in quarter one, Trump traded between $250 million to close to $700 million in stocks in that quarter alone. Also, Trump bought stock in UFC's parent company as he promoted the fight. Newsom post the following inconvenient truth for Trump administration. The five states with the biggest gas price increases are all Republican-led states. Are those big price increases due to their energy policies? Newsom then post the following price increases over the last year. Gas is up 41%, airline fare up 27%, energy up 24%. Tobacco up 8%, fruits and vegetables up 6%, car repair up 6%, clothing costs up 5%. Newsom also post the following. Trump says, I love inflation. Wow. Trump just admitted he loves it when Americans pay more for the same things that cause less. And then right before Newsom made that video, he posted the following. When Donald Trump launched his war against Iran, he had no plan for the cataclysmic financial consequences we'd all have to bear. 107 days later, he still has no idea what he's doing, and American families are footing the bill. And he also writes, the White House was built to serve the American people, not to promote a company that Trump owns stock in. Newsom, this may have triggered Donald Trump as well. Newsom brought Hunter Biden to do a show, to do a podcast, and here's what Hunter Biden told Newsom. Let's play it. There's the tree that the Teddy Roosevelt planted, and he's putting a fucking cage. And he's putting on a show, bread in circus, bread in circus. And by the way, that's all it is to him. The gold, the rose garden, the oval office, it's bread in circus. He knows what he's doing. He knows that people are absolutely in throbbed by it. And again, what it is, it's audacity versus authenticity. And then Newsom released the following as well in that interview with Hunter Biden, that Donald Trump has turned the presidency into the greatest grift in American history. Let's play this clip. Board of Peace, meme coins, USC. I mean, you were tweeting about that today, and it's Bibles, and it's, you know, First Lady Bibles, not just Trump Bibles. You've got sneakers. We've got phones. I mean, this grift is the likes of which we've, you can't even, can't make this back to this. You can't make this shit up. You can't make it at all. And everything you went through, let's talk about that. They run it all. Like, you know what? I like UFC. I mean, I like watching it. They run it. They run it. It makes it hard. Now, you know what I mean? It literally does because everybody's got to choose a side. They have to put it on the goddamn South lawn. And I'm in the middle of the 250th anniversary. I mean, I can't understand what Dana White, I don't have anything against Dana White, but what the fuck, man? There you have it, folks. Let me know what you think about this all. Truly disturbing developments, but Newsom is fighting back. Hit subscribe. Let's get to 7 million subscribers. Thank you so much for watching. Want to stay plugged in?
