Summary

Nashville's Morning News Hour 2 covers ICE operations at airports, state population migration trends with Tennessee ranking fourth for growth, and Supreme Court oral arguments on birthright citizenship. The episode discusses policy impacts on illegal immigration, sanctuary city effects, and constitutional interpretation of the 14th Amendment.

Insights
  • ICE airport operations have improved TSA efficiency and public perception when agents are not demonized, contrasting with street-level controversies
  • Population exodus from high-tax states like California and New York correlates directly with sanctuary city policies and soft-on-crime legislation
  • Tennessee's fourth-place ranking for population growth is driven by no state income tax, job growth, and cultural appeal rather than just tax benefits
  • Supreme Court conservative justices appear skeptical of birthright citizenship based on questioning, but precedent and originalist interpretation may favor the left
  • Birth tourism from China represents a systemic vulnerability with 60,000+ annual cases, exploiting citizenship loopholes for long-term strategic advantage

Welcome on into Nashville's morning news. For a Thursday, April 2nd, as far as your weather goes today, Sunday, Wendy and a high around 86 degrees. I'm sorry, does that say sunny or cloudy? Sunny, Wendy and a high around 86 is what Joan said to me earlier this morning. No, no, no, cloudy. Cloudy? Well, Joan, what did you tell me that it was gonna be sunny early? Joan, you said it right, he listened wrong. Okay. Cloudy, Wendy and a high around 86 and appreciate you listening to Super Talk, 99.7. All right, so of all people, Charlemagne strolled through the airport. Now you know who Charlemagne is? I refuse to call him Charlemagne the God. Yes, don't say it. I'm not going to. Good. I'm not going to. I'm glad. But Charlemagne apparently was baffled by competent, efficient and nice ice agents. Listen to this. When I flew out of LaGuardia Friday, I didn't see no TSA agents. Ice was doing everything. And how was it? How was your experience? I mean, they were great, to be honest with you. Like to be honest, they were. And for that particular terminal, I was flying out of LaGuardia. I forgot what terminal it was, but yeah, they were being extra nice, like Chick-fil-A workers. I was saying to myself, I'm like, there's no way in hell. This is the same ice agents that was on the streets of places like Minnesota with the mascot. Like they not wearing masks, like they being super nice. I think it's a sigh up, okay, for the midterms, right? Because if you put them in the airports and they're super nice and they're helpful and they got things running efficiently, when he says we're gonna have them at the polls in November, nobody gonna think twice about. Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's not how it works, Charlemagne, but thanks. You know, it is amazing though what happens. When you have a bunch of ice agents at the airport who are not being attacked and they're not being demonized, that's what happens. You know, I haven't heard, I don't know about you, Joan. I have not heard one story out there of people having issues with the ice agents. People seem to be happy that they're there. It seems pretty clear to me that they did help the lines, become more efficient and so forth. And they were there backing up the TSA agents. And there was that one issue in San Francisco which turned out to be fake news. But when all is said and done, as much as the left hates to admit it, ice did help the lines. And Donald Trump is the one that got the TSA agents paid. One ice agent helped the kid who was choking. We talked about that a few days ago. Saved the kid's life. Now, as far as the ice agents and voting places and that whole idea that this is a PSYAP, okay, well, we don't know if the president is going to try to do that, send ice to polling places, but the bottom line is you're not allowed to do that. This is a big debate about what's going to happen at the midterms. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, he actually said this at CPAC and it did freak a lot of people out. This is Todd Blanche at CPAC. It's a little nine second statement that went viral very quickly. Here is what he had to say, Todd Blanche. Like, why is there objection to sending ice officers to polling places? Illegals can't vote. I mean, it actually makes all the sense in the world. And I like Todd Blanche and he is right. Now, the problem aside from the fact that it is illegal is you can't have government forces, as they say, a patrolling poll sites unless it is to repel armed enemies of the United States. Just a few quick illegal immigration notes this morning. The LA Exodus is in overdrive. I've got audio only. Sam, if we could, audio only. This is what is going on in Los Angeles and in California by and large. The Exodus continues. We've got shocking new figures showing Los Angeles losing tens of thousands of residents. One of the biggest population drops in the nation. Experts pointing to soaring costs, shrinking opportunity and policy failures driving people out. You know, when you talk about the policy failures of what is going on in Los Angeles, in California by and large, it's almost like how much time have you got, right? We're talking about the soft on crime policies. We're talking about being taxed into oblivion, harsh COVID crackdowns that are going back a few years. And of course, the high taxes, the fraud, the sanctuary city status as well. So that's why you've got a lot of people that are now leaving Los Angeles and leaving California. Now, at one time, and I remember this, Gavin Newsom was out there saying, you know, what population decline in California? We've had a bounce back, Gavin Newsom said. Well, you know what the reality was? This proves what I said a while ago, which is that now that we are seeing yet again an LA and a California Exodus after this supposed bounce back, it tells you that the population growth that Gavin Newsom was talking about were illegal immigrants coming into California, coming into Los Angeles. He just didn't want to admit it. This is from the Washington Times. The failures of governance in Los Angeles hammer home this point. Los Angeles County has lost over 300,000 residents alone since 2020. And the only year that the County has added more residents than it lost was in 2024. Just as with the broader state, Los Angeles did not suddenly get better at governance to rule back thousands of residents in 2024. Both the city and the state were simply relying on Biden's open border policies to replace departing California residents with illegal immigrants. Anybody shocked by that? I'm not. I left California because it was turning into a literal crap hole. Those of you who know my history know that I left California many, many, many, many years ago. I left California before leaving California was cool. As a matter of fact, I think it was about, I don't know, have to look at the look at a calendar, but I mean, it's been years ago now, 15, 20 years ago now that I left California. Clearly it hasn't gotten any better. Christopher Rufo did some reporting yesterday on some of this. They say multiple senior HHS officials estimate that under Gavin Newsom, California's state Medicaid program has lost 25% of its budget to fraud. You know what that means? Illegal aliens. That is exactly what that means. The article goes on to say Christopher Rufo reporting, this would mean that it is currently losing the state of California $50 billion a year to scammers, fraudsters, and organized crime rings as well. Other states, by the way, losing people, the usual suspects, you've got New York, you've got Maryland, you've got Massachusetts as well, New York Mayor Zaron Mamdani, rolled out a new policy this week. I'm not sure if you heard of this. What we are rolling out today is for parents of two-year-olds in the neighborhoods that we have listed, all that is required is that parents live within that school district. No matter what. You need enough to make sure that you aren't in a bad financial position. Once you have that, your salary becomes moot. What matters from that point forward, upside gains. Any type of ownership stake or ownership potential, that's the money. Remember, you can afford anything, just not everything. Afford anything. Follow and listen on your favorite platform. Out of the amount of money they make, the occupation they have, their immigration status, so long as they live there, they can apply it. So, shocking, isn't it? So now, what is it, Democratic Socialist, he calls himself, free daycare for kids regardless of immigration status. So that's why New York is on the list of states that are losing people again. We just went through California, talking about Maryland. Joan knows something about that. Massachusetts, now the city and the state of New York. Why? Because of the things like free daycare for folks regardless of immigration status. At New York, they say, is losing people by the thousands and hoping their sanctuary city status will attract illegal aliens, just like in California. Got a lot more on this, including the top states for growth. So, the top states for growth, because when you see the states that people are leaving, they've got to be going somewhere and where are they going? I tested Joan and Sam the other day, South Carolina, number one. Idaho is up there as well. Delaware, which I was a bit baffled by, they say that Delaware is for the tax benefits. They say Delaware ranked third, helped by its location near major East Coast job markets and a relatively low tax setup that includes no sales tax. They also say from the Washington Examiner, being just a stone's throw away from Washington, DC, Philadelphia and New York City is a huge perk for Delaware for young professionals who want the hustle and bustle of the city without breaking the bank. Guess who's number four, the state of Tennessee. With its warm weather and no state income tax on wages, Tennessee in fourth place is another hot spot for new residents. In 2025, the state had 43.6 newcomers for every 10,000 people already living in the state of Tennessee. So we dropped off, I think for maybe a year or two, Nashville was replaced by Austin, if I'm not mistaken. Nashville back on the list, Tennessee back on the list as well. Hyra Helper said its appeal now goes beyond just its lack of state income tax with Nashville in particular benefiting from job growth, cultural pull and rising investor interest. You know, this is interesting what they say. They say that Elvis fans flock to Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee. I don't think people though, Joan, you think people are moving to Memphis? I don't think people are moving to Memphis. I think people are moving to Nashville and our suburbs. I think that people visit Memphis. You can see it. I feel like Nashville is busting at the seams and it's spreading out all over the place. It is, it is. With new construction, Murphy's Barrow is just so, it's incredible how many new developments are being put in without the roads being changed at all. So it's jammed every moment of the day. And in areas like I think Spring Hill, Sam has mentioned before, Spring Hill is like crazy busting out at the seams. So many places are just growing and growing and growing in this area. Do you know what I've noticed too, which is really interesting, is when people, like I drive down Saundersville Ferry Road on my way to home. And they're like tucking in homes wherever they can. Like if there is a little itty bitty plot of land where you can fit a couple, two or three homes on there, they'll put them there. And I mean, they look exactly alike and that's the kind of stuff that I hate, but whatever. I mean, they'll sell them and they'll get good money for those homes. Just for inflation perspective, I grew up in East Nashville, which was kind of the real estate high point for the longest. You could buy a 10th of an acre plot in East Nashville in like 2010 for 10 grand. Yep. Now that same plot's gonna go for $100,000 and they're gonna build a $500,000 house on it. Yeah, I mean, even if you wanted to buy a plot of land and put like manufactured home on there. Stoltzko. It's still very expensive. That's right, Stoltzko. By the way, rounding out the top five, Joan. Yes. Sam. Oh, you want guesses? Can you guess? I think I heard this earlier. Virginia is one of them, which I thought was really weird, right? Alabama. Alabama. Really? You know what, in fairness to Joan, it just depends on what list you're talking about. Yeah. Because you've got all these different lists. And the one thing that all of the lists have in common is the states of people are moving to by and large with the exception of Delaware, all in the South. Yeah. Right? Yes. Yes. It's crazy. California is losing residents left and right. It's interesting, by the way, there's been, so you mentioned Virginia. Illegal alien crimes, I don't hate to be a Danny Downer, but illegal alien crimes continue to horrify across the country. You mentioned Virginia. There's been a bunch of murders in Virginia at the hands of illegal aliens. And now the governor there, Abigail Spanberger, do you know one of the first things that she did when she got into office is she signed an executive order, basically banning the state and local jurisdictions as well from cooperating with ICE? Yep. And so now they've got two illegal alien Guatemalans and they're charged with various counts of murder. One of them, the victim, Joan, is three years old. It was his own child that he beat to death. That's exactly right. This is the kind of people we're bringing in this country. Do you remember back in 2015, when President Trump began his campaign to become president and he said they're sending us, they're criminals, they're drug dealers, they're sending us the worst of the worst and he wasn't kidding. No, he wasn't kidding at all. And he said it, I mean, to be honest, he said it ad nauseam but that didn't mean that it wasn't true. Yeah. It doesn't help that the proposal in Virginia, HB863, it would repeal mandatory minimums and prison sentencing for manslaughter, rape, possession and distribution of child pornography, assault on a law enforcement officer and certain repeat violent felonies or three strike style enhancements. Those would all be repealed. Yeah, so you've got this, again, that just to get back to what I was talking about, you got the two Guatemalans and a bunch of others as well and just not allowing jurisdictions to work with ICE on these detainers, but all of that other South on crime policies that Sam just mentioned, I mean, the damage that that's gonna do to the state of Virginia and they voted for this. This is the crazy thing, they voted for this. There's also a, need some video here, Sam. This is a very disturbing video. I'm gonna tell you, this is a very disturbing video. In Seattle, it shows a guy, and I don't know to be perfectly candid, I don't know if this is an illegal alien or not. The dude's name is Elicio Melendez, but Elicio was trying to shove a man in front of a train. Oh, I saw that video. He's a repeat offender as well. He is absolutely, Sam, you're right. He is a repeat offender. The guy, this is the most incredible video that you'll see today, where the guy is just on his phone. And he's standing probably, I don't know what, 10 feet in front of the train tracks. Dude is lurking and walks behind him as the train is coming, tries to shove the guy in front of the train, and the dude was able to stop. He stopped short of allowing this guy to push him in front of the train. I mean, he missed a death probably by about inches. Inches, I think inches. He had good feet, like he stuck his feet down and was able to stop himself from going headlong into that train. I mean, if the corner of that thing just hits him in the right spot on the side of the head, he's done for it. He's gone. The victim caught himself, the guy, Melendez has been previously charged with stabbing his sister in the stomach. Now, here's what's crazy. He was charged with second degree assault and domestic violence when he stabbed the sister in the stomach. The case was dismissed because they said that he was incompetent to stand trial due to schizophrenia. So that's insane. And you have these loopholes. And so they said, well, he tried to stab his sister and he was charged with all of these crimes, but he's incompetent to stand trial because he's schizophrenic. So let's go ahead and just let him out into the street so that he can try to push some dude in front of a train. It is crazy. And again, I don't know if the guy's an illegal alien or not, but the fact that the charges were dismissed and he was out walking around and able to try to push this guy in front of a moving train is insane to me. And that is just the kind of thing, Sam, that Virginia did with Spanberger when she came into office. So we're, unfortunately, we're gonna see a lot more of this. I was about to say, so in theory, based on what you've got from the illegal immigrants and what I brought up about Virginia, there's gonna create a bigger problem. Now you're gonna be letting people out, you're not gonna be sentencing them to mandatory minimums and you're not gonna cooperate with the federal agencies so they can be picked up and removed from our country. So you're just, basically what they're doing is they are, whether you're in New York and in Mdani, and Mdani is saying, okay, if you're an illegal alien, you can still get free childcare, right? Acting is a magnet for the illegal aliens or if you're a criminal, then you're just gonna have illegal aliens and criminals coming to your states. This is why I am so glad that the state of Tennessee is doing what they're doing to cooperate with the Trump administration to demagnetize the state of Tennessee. So kudos to the state legislature, although there's still people out there that'll say, oh no, we have a supposedly conservative state legislature in the state of Tennessee. Just shut up. It's 6.25, Jones got the news, it's 6.30, Joan. Yeah, there is a word this morning of an earthquake that has struck California this morning. We've got the latest on that and a couple of guys in Warren County under arrest for what they did with a four year old child in the house. Those stories at 6.30 on Super Talk 997 WTN. So do we know how big the earthquake was? Yeah, 4.9. Okay, you know what? That's a pretty good shaker. You know, usually when you're- It's a wake up. Yeah, that'll wake you up. What time was it? Do we know? You know what? They're not saying exactly what time so far, but yeah, I've got all the details coming up at the top of the news. You ever felt an earthquake, Sam or Joan? Yes. Yes, have you really? Okay. I'm a wedding night. There was one that hit in Virginia and DC. Do you remember the National Cathedral? Yes. It shook and it became damaged because of it. Yeah, I felt that one. I felt that one when I was in New Jersey. Yeah, earthquakes, they'll wake you up. And I've been through a lot of them, obviously being from California. So Joan, I think we need to be honest about what happened during the radio broadcast yesterday. Oh yeah? You had a transgression, a misbehavior, if you will. And so you drew the short straw and you had to watch the Supreme Court hearings yesterday on birthright citizenship. So you have brought in a full report. We're gonna talk about what happened because you had to sit there and listen to the ramblings of Kataji Brown Jackson. My ears are still bleeding. So I wanna talk a little bit about this. I watched some of it. I didn't get to watch all of it. I'm gonna be honest with you. I fell asleep. I tried to watch it and I fell asleep. Did they show on the video? Did they show President Trump sitting there in the room? No, there was no video. Okay, there was no video, it was only audio. It's just audio. Okay, so I was listening on the internet. I didn't know if there was like a video feed of the audio. So I wanna play some Kataji Brown Jackson and I guess if there was video, we could see the other justices rolling their eyes. So a lot of people talked about when she started talking about if she steals a wallet in Japan, this is one moment that people were talking about that did make a lot of sense. Can I just say my challenge in listening to Kataji Brown Jackson before I start playing the audio is that a lot of this stuff is in legalese, but she doesn't make any sense anyway. Do you know what I mean? She's just, I have a hard time understanding her. I have a hard time following her rationale. I'll try to translate for you. Yeah, I have a hard time following. I help people make the smartest money decisions possible. Do not ever worry about your salary. Following her rationale because she is, I think she's known as the dumbest. I mean, I'm trying to be nice, but she's known as the dumbest justice. She has no business being there. Even the liberal justices has said that Katanji Brown Jackson should not be a justice of the Supreme Court. This is her talking about stealing a wallet in Japan as it relates to birthright citizenship and the 14th Amendment. I was thinking about this. And I think there are various sources that say this, that you can have, you obviously have permanent allegiance based on being born in whatever country you're from. That's what everybody recognizes. But you also have local allegiance when you are on the soil of this other sovereign. And I was thinking, I'm IUS citizen and visiting Japan. And what it means is that, if I steal someone's wallet in Japan, the Japanese authorities can arrest me and prosecute me. It's allegiance meaning can they control you as a matter of law? I can also rely on them if my wallet is stolen to under Japanese law go and prosecute the person who has stolen it. So there's this relationship based on, even though I'm a temporary traveler, I'm just on vacation in Japan, I'm still locally owing allegiance in that sense. Okay, so. What is she talking about? Well, you know what? Apparently she was talking to an ACLU, a National Legal Director. Now we know that the ACLU is all about having as many illegal aliens in our country as possible. They actually paid for commercials to keep birthright citizenship a thing. Did they really? Yeah, TV commercials I've been seeing in the past week. This is how poor a researcher, Kintani, Kintanji, Kintanji Brown Jackson. Yeah. So Japan, by the way, they just up their citizenship requirements. They're now even stricter of a nation to join. It's already hard. They increased their residency requirement from five years to 10 consecutive years of legal residency in Japan. So that's what they're aiming to have you do before you even get to talking to them about citizenship. You have to have good conduct, ability to support oneself. You have to have Japanese language proficiency and cultural integration, which is assessed case by case. So, all right. Plus there's a big price tag to- Oh yeah. I'm a resident of Japan. Now there's still exceptions if your spouse is already a Japanese citizen. But to bring that up is some kind of talking point in the debate of citizenship. It's got to be the furthest reach on the dumbest end of the bookshelf I could possibly fathom. Well, and again, not to blame for the point, but she has no business. This is what DEI does. I mean, this, you puts, and here's the thing. I find it hard to believe that there wasn't someone's, if they wanted to, Joe Biden said, I want a black female on the Supreme Court. Okay, fine. This is the best one he could come up with. Like I, there had to have been somebody smarter than Kataji Brown Jackson. But they didn't want smart. They just wanted somebody who will do the bidding of the left. I mean, it wasn't all about smart at all. Is she the only one glitzed out with a bunch of jewelry on, on top of her robe? Is that? I don't know. I don't. Just to me, it comes across. Is she blinging out her robe? Kataji Brown Jackson? The picture you had up, she's got all sorts of pearls and gold on. Oh, really? Yeah. By the way, she also wanted to know, how exactly is it that we ascertain who is a citizen and who is not in the delivery room? And who would not qualify under your rule. How does this work? Are you suggesting that when a baby is born, people have to have documents, present documents? Is this happening in the delivery room? How are we determining when or whether a newborn child is a citizen of the United States under your rule? And I think that's directly addressed in the SSA guidance that's cited in our brief. What SS... By the way, this guy sounds like RFK Jr. Yes. D. John Sauer, who is a US Solicitor General. He says there's currently a system where, for example, social security numbers are generated based on the birth certificate. They say this can still be for the vast majority of institutes completely transparent. You will still get a... You're not transparent. I'm just talking about the particulars. Because now you say your rule turns on whether the person intended to stay in the United States. And I think Justice Barrett brought this up. So we're bringing pregnant women in for depositions. What are we doing to figure this out? No, as I pointed out earlier, the executive order turns on lawfulness of status. So if you give birth to a baby in the hospital right now, it gets the birth certificate in the system. There's a computer system. So there's no opportunity, there's apparently no opportunity then for the person to prove or to say... Yeah, so there you go. You know, there's the joke that was out there. And you had a... I played it on the air where it's Katanjia Brown Jackson saying, I don't know or I don't understand. You remember this, Sam. And it had to... I mean, it went on forever, where she's always talking about how she doesn't know or doesn't understand something. Dan, she's not a biologist. No, and I think that the frustrating part in about all of this, first of all, Joan, just real quick, do you think, because I'm hearing people that are saying that it didn't really look good for our side as far as... I think that there were questions being posed by Amy Coney Barrett, by John Roberts, that make me think that there's no way that they're going to go in favor of the government. It was clear to me that Clarence Thomas, who got the first question out of the box, that he was clear about how this was designed for the children of slaves, that it was not designed for its current use. No, like a bunch of rich Chinese people coming in here with, you know, all these kids. So now we have millions of Chinese people born in this country, who went back to their country, who have the right to vote in our country today. By the way, Japan, pretty big on no dual citizenship. So this is actually real quick. Let's do the roads and then let's check traffic. Then I've got some audio from Will Cain and Jonathan Turley's head is about to explode on the insanity of birthright citizenship. So we've been hearing the horror stories and you know, that this whole, you know, birthing tourism that, I mean, I've been talking about this forever, Chinese people coming in. Well, it's not only Chinese people, but they're infamous for it. They've got companies in China that will, you know, send you into America when you're seven or eight months pregnant and put you up in a hotel or in a home or whatever it is, until you have your baby. And then out pops out and they, like, China's in it for the long game. You know what I'm talking about? So they got all these kids, they've been doing this for years. They've been doing this for, look up, Sam, when look up, this story goes back, I think to the nineties, eighties or nineties at least, it's been going on. And people have been talking about this. This is, by the way, Wilcane, and he's talking about how birthright citizenship is, he says, quote, a great scam. About birth tourism, it's booming. In 2023, over 300,000 babies were born to unauthorized or legal, temporary immigrant mothers. Add that in total. It's 9% of the US births in that given year. When we look at how that shakes that over time, a clear spike in the number of births to unauthorized immigrant mothers in the United States from 2019 to 2023. That's unprecedented. It's unforeseen, it's undeniable. But Chief Justice Roberts, unconvinced. It certainly wasn't a problem in the 19th century. No, but of course, we're in a new world now, just as Alita pointed out to, where eight billion people are one plane right away from having a child who's a US citizen. Well, it's a new world, it's the same constitution. So, I mean, this is going to be something that we're gonna have to deal with. I don't believe that this is gonna go Donald Trump's way. I wish that it would. And the only way to change it would be, what a constitutional amendment? Like an amendment to the amendment. I'm not even sure how it gets resolved. Well, I don't know either. I do have, let me get right into this. I think it'd have to be repealed and replaced. This is Jonathan Turley, and they're talking about the insanity. This is on Lord Ingram's show. And I love Jonathan Turley. And so, this is Jonathan Turley, legal scholar, talking about, and he's by the way, one of the leading voices on the insanity of birthright citizenship. Before I don't believe, and this one was for the ages, but what do you think? He probably thought, where's the common sense here? Well, that was the second great question, whether the president could sit absolutely silently as an argument went on that he felt strongly about. So, we answered that question. He was able to do that, but it must have been hard at points because I'm sure some of these questions were maddening. The fact is, the policy is maddening. It's perfectly insane. That's why very few countries accept birthright citizenship. And so, the difficulty with this case is that it's hard to really justify the policy when you look at what's happening with, in China alone, hundreds of these tourism sites are sending people over for the sole purpose of having children here. Only a moronic nation would allow that type of industry. Fact check true. And you know, I love, and here's the thing, Joan and Sam. I love America. Don't you? The freedoms that we have and, you know, all of the opportunity that are given to the American people, but at the same time, you know, it's not unpatriotic to say that America is a moronic nation when you see policies like this. But, but, but, but, but, I would say that we have moronic leaders. You know what I mean? So, 60,000 Chinese come here annually to have their babies. 60,000. A year. That is insane. Going back to, no, it's built up to that point now, but this started really being popularized early 2000s. Early 2000s. Yeah, China kind of gained some more wealthy upper class, and they started sending, now originally, we don't know, but originally the claim is that they, well, they want their kids to be educated here. They want their kids to have opportunities here, as we hear from everybody, maybe your other nation in the world. What they're kids educated here, we have visas for that. Yeah, but now that China's... They don't have to be citizens. Now that China's really built up their world economy over the last 20 years, are there more nefarious purposes? I mean, I would say, yeah. I mean, they've certainly got that in their arsenal, and, you know, China clearly is not going to do anything to stop the birthing tourism companies in China. They're not gonna do anything to stop that. We can't even get them to stop, you know, sending the ingredients for, you know, drugs that kill Americans to Mexico, and then it makes its way across our southern border. China's a big part of that. Here's more from Jonathan Turley. To flourish, none of our allies do in Europe, but these justices really were grappling with over 100 years of precedent. The hilarious aspect of this, Laura, and I'm sure you felt the same way, was to hear the liberal justices who rarely allow the language of the Constitution to stand in the way of a preferred interpretation. Yeah, there is that. But they seem to be channeling Scalia today. You know, talking about, you know, we really have to go back to that original intent, and, you know, it's pretty clear this is the English rule, and that obviously played to the conservative justices. But, you know, in my Supreme Court class, and we talked about this case, we presented it, I often ask my students in predicting the outcome, whether we have a default case. Sometimes you have a case where everything's an equipoise for justices. And the question is, where do they run home to? And for conservatives, they tend to run home to this place. They tend to follow the precedent. They tend not to read too much into the language, and that's benefiting the left here. Yeah, all right. Matt Walsh apparently had, according to Sam, I have not heard this, but had a spot on opinion in a tweet. Yeah, he tweeted this out yesterday, and it should strike a chord with everybody. The left's argument for birthright citizenship is obviously insane, but it's even more insane when you consider that they actually don't believe in your or my birthright. We are on stolen land and don't belong here, according to them. But the anchor baby, whose parents got here from Guatemala 10 seconds ago, has a birthright and is tied to this nation by blood for all time. That's actually their position. It's so psychotic that you can't even argue against it. Like trying to have a political debate with a dog, these people are not rational. There you go, Matt Walsh. Rational as always, Matt Walsh. It's true, they would tell Dan Mandis, they would tell Joan Jones or Sam Rutherford, oh, you're a white colonizer on stolen land, with a person who just got here and had a baby on taxpayer dime in the ER. No, that baby's got rights. Yeah. Better than yours. The left is all of a sudden big on the constitution and sticking to what the originalist would say. Or the right to life. Yeah, the right to life, exactly. Now the baby's opinion and its rights matter because it's about citizenship, whether or not it gets to live. So we'll find out in a few months whether or not, because that's when they come up with their decisions, right? Did they say any idea, Joan, when we're gonna find out? Late June. Yeah, late June. Perhaps in July. All right. Well, something to not look forward to. I predict that John Roberts, Amy Cooney Barrett, will vote with the liberals. I think that's the way that it's gonna go and I think the Trump is probably gonna lose this case, sadly. This isn't your average podcast.
