•Jan 9, 20265 months agoSummary
Episode 610 features interviews with Nathan MacKinnon, Kelly Chase, Scott Laughton, and R.A. Burich discussing NHL performance, player development, and the league's current state. The show covers standout performances from young stars like Celebrini and McDavid, team struggles like the Devils and Jets, and personal stories from hockey veterans about mentorship and resilience.
Insights
- Elite player development requires holistic investment in training, recovery, and mental health—MacKinnon's heavy lifting protocol and specialized treatment staff exemplify modern player optimization
- Locker room culture and veteran leadership are critical stabilizers during team downturns; losing streaks amplify stress across all roster levels, not just struggling players
- Personality and authenticity in sports media are valued by audiences, but young athletes must balance candor with organizational loyalty to avoid creating internal friction
- Mentorship from established figures (like Gordy Howe's guidance to Chase) can fundamentally reshape career trajectories and player mindset during critical development periods
- Franchise stability matters: teams winning the President's Trophy can collapse if core pieces underperform or key players are lost (Winnipeg's 3-20 recent record)

Me and Ryan have been officially welcomed to the jungle that is basketball sports. I brought it towards the coyotes and I asked them if it was okay if I joined the spit chicklets podcast full time. No, little boy. Ryan Whitney got a pink Whitney out there now. I just got to land back or get that on camera. He can't be. The song man. Hey, is it full time member? Marley just gotten us this from Chris. Pete. Whoa, we're buzzing right now. So. Keith. What is up folks? Welcome to episode 610 of the spit and chicklets podcast. And the last one on YouTube. The last, yeah, I guess you were people without YouTube right now, business getting dumbed in the face. But thank you, everyone for tuning in. Thank you so much. Showed out. We got a lot to get to people keep asking me about my 2026 resolution. I've gotten the usual stuff. Read more, maybe workout, maybe stop ordering food. Like I'm feeding a family of four. This is my real goal this year. Get comfy. And that's where bombas comes in. I've been wearing the all new bombas sports socks. And I swear they're the only reason I'm even attempting to run again. They're cushioned in the right spots, sweat wicking, super breathable. I basically live in the Sunday slippers, quick dog walks, grabbing coffee. Feels like I'm walking on clouds. And underneath it all, their underwear and teas are crazy soft. Once you wear them, everything else in the drawer feels like a mistake. For every purchase, bombas donates an essential clothing item to someone facing housing insecurity. They've already donated over 150 million items since 2013, which is unreal. So head to bombas.com slash audio and use code audio for 20% off your first purchase. That's B-O-M-B-I-S. dot com slash audio code audio. And check out. So this long, long 24 hours. What's going on, boy? Just you deserve a medal of honor. All of a sudden, just in the middle of one of the most electric social media days I've seen in quite some time, particularly with bar stool sports, Danny Boycane, Mintcy. You host all these guys, a cast of characters, you're cooking for them, you're feeding them. Just basically the genuinely nicest thing you've ever done, I'd say. I might be up for the Nobel Peace Prize. Yeah, yeah. No, oh, okay. So we do have like probably what 50, 60% of our fan base and listeners who aren't really tapped in that much to the bar stool world. So we have to be fair here. I don't even really know how this began. I'm going to put it on on your plate with it. So I think it derived from the yak originally and the fact that Mintcy, this bar stool character, I'll hand it over to you. Yeah, so I don't know. So Tate Ohio's Taters is a guy at bar stool. Don't know how it came about that he was just going to follow him. I know Mintcy wanted to go to this, this old Miss Miami game. He's an old Miss, maybe a lump. I'll say right away, Mintcy's a fucking moron, a complete joke. His content is like, he's just like dumb and moronic and kind of selfish and stuff, but people love him, I guess, but he's not like trying. I think it's just him. He's known as a free loader, a big time free loader, really. What's the word that they used? A bond rule? A boo doggo. A boo doggo. A boo doggo is one of the terms that they describe in math. Okay. Well, the reason also they sent Tate along with him is when he goes on these quote unquote bar stool work trips where he doesn't do a lot of work, he's free loaders. Yeah, he's big to see. He's vicious as partying others, people's dying, but yet collecting a salary from bar stool. So they send Ohio Tate with him to capture everything. Well, maybe one of the best decisions the company's ever made. And he documented this guy's entire trip to the festival in which Ole Miss, he's a huge Ole Miss guy, actually went to university there. I believe graduated. I'm not mean. How? Don't know. I think he went there when I wasn't really like a real call. I don't think they're big Mint's fans because if that's the guy representing your school, it's kind of like, I don't want to send my kids there. I don't know. He's got a lot of pride for it though. He does. He knows the chance with. Oh, he knows the chance. And just the fact that there's obviously been this build up, it's been their best season ever. They make the playoffs in which is like it's been expanded to I believe 12 teams now in the college football race. I know we got a lot of hockey fans here listening. And then their big time head coach who's up for contract at the end of the season or had an op-dow clause. No, he was signed. He was signed. He was excited to leave. He just because he has an op-dow decides to leave to their biggest rival for an even bigger bag in which who we got the face time before the game as we were going there. So this last 48 hours for Mint's, he has been off the rails. A Tate has done an incredible job documenting the whole thing. And then I think once again, it derived all from the yak. Bob Big Cat. Hey, like who are the whole, I mean, there's a big. Maybe Nick Brandon Titus. I think that's the crew. And there's people in and out. I think they just bring on Mintcy to just make fun of him like once a week. Does he live in Chicago, Mintcy? He lives out of people's like vans and houses, wherever he's boondoggling to. It's stemmed because they didn't want to stream the game with Mintcy too. Cause they were like, all right, if we send him to the festival, he's not going to be here hanging out with us while we stream the game. So that was a big part of it as well. Let's put him on biz so we can enjoy the game. Exactly. Biz will take him on the Canadian. He's nice. And this is why I love Barstool. Everybody gets together in order to help our boy Mintcy where it wasn't just me. Riggsie was originally going to host him. I think it was going to be for the two nights. And Riggsie had something going on. He couldn't go to the game, but was nice enough to take him in. He set up a dinner forum after his party at the Barstool Arizona, where he brought him to Oceans Master, Master Oceans Club. What is it called? The end? Yeah. Oceans Club. Oceans Club. And the cook stayed there late. They brought out some fancy dessert forum. He host him that night. And then the next day, I ended up taking him over and still. Well, you left out some things here. I'm sorry to interrupt you. But if I'm sitting with my wife for a couple, you know, some couples who were enjoying it. And that guy starts doing that. Ole Miss, Haughty Taughty, screaming. And I don't think there's the rest. Is the restaurant? I mean, I'm asking, I'm asking, can you kick this guy out of the restaurant? I'm trying to enjoy a steak. I haven't been out to dinner with my wife in a couple months. Now I got this clown yelling and screaming. The night before, one of the funniest side-by-side picks I've ever seen, where Mintcy had a girl come. She was talking to him and it was like, I'd rather be in NAMM. Like, get this guy away from me. And then there's Bizz. And Bizz is talking or, and she's got a smile that could brighten up any one's day. She's loving life. And then she took the jacket off, sitting next to Bizz. So some questions were asked, did you steal Mintcy's girl? So this guy is Bill. I think he got her a VIP table, so she showed up. I don't know how that was facilitated. She was facing a little bit of backlash for putting Mintcy in a tough spot of thinking that she was probably going to bring all girls with her. And then it was literally she was the only girl and it was just like seven or eight dudes. It was also one of the guys that came at Portной last week from a rival media. Oh, no, I didn't know that. It wasn't just like a group of random guys. It was like a rival media company where one of the guys attacked Portной last week. Tapable Mintcy. But that's like Keith getting a shot through from the point. It's like me snapping a nice tape to tape breakout pass. It's like you dump a one in right when you get over the red line. But that's nothing. That's Mintcy. That's what this guy does. He fucks up. So yeah, that's like the bare minimum. Like that's not even that bad where I don't even think Dave cared that much about that part. But yeah, and it was so I ended up meeting her name Kelsey free. She does this cruel social account where she's an old miss fan, but it's called like wives of the SEC. So she mimics each of how the wives like talk and their southern accents and like what they're about. Like some of the some of the fan bases moms are the more pompous moms. Like the more chill moms who have no expectations that are just happy to be there are the Vanderbilt. The wives is this true? Are you aware of like all how old you're telling us about this? So I don't know who's married in college. No, like it's called wives of the SEC. Maybe it's just the the fan coaches coaches, fans like it's called wives of the SEC. So she was she was very nice and I actually followed her a few weeks prior to even meeting her. So it was just kind of it ended up just lining up. Why do you have that grimace on your face? That's no. I just I didn't know you'd followed her prior. That's it. It's funny how things work. Did you steal her from Minty? Is this true? I don't think Minty ever had her. I know I asked the question. But no, like we just we were just chatting. I mean, I was there for 35 minutes. I dropped off some door prizes for Minty's big night at Barstool Arizona. He did the hotty, toddy chant. We got on the mic. And then I went home because I wanted to save up my energy for the next day, which was which was yesterday and the chaos that ensued. Minty all day, Danny, Danny Boycane, who I didn't even realize this person was a person until yesterday morning when big cats call me. Were you aware of who this guy was? For a long, long time. Keith actually learned this morning on a text read with me, him, and Dave. Yep. For people who don't know Danny Boycane, he's been around for 20 years. Survivor. Survivor. Well, he, no, he was all there was a video many, many years ago, 20 years. Where he's discussing the dirty, disgusting, salacious rumors that he had the swine flu was attacked by a bear. None of it was ever true. It was, it was complete nonsense. And it was a joke. Not one Iota of it was true. And he made that clear and he's a diehard Miami hurricane's fan. And I think Dave's basically dreamed of kind of employing him. And the relationship has gone up and down. I think it's Dave's favorite person he's ever seen or met on the internet. He's been doing it for quite some time. So when I found out knowing the history of Danny Boycane and his big game shoes, those big game shoes. He had those Miami hurricane shoes just so good. When I heard that he was coming, he was going to be at your house. I'm like, this is unreal. Like, Bizz gets to hang with this guy. And he didn't disappoint. And I think maybe my favorite moment of the internet in a long, long time was the phone call you did with Lane Kifinow is a FaceTime. And typical Mintz, he didn't tell the guy he was being filmed. Didn't tell him would be posted to the internet like a complete moron. And Lane Kifin wasn't happy. So when you guys realize that there's a clip of you saying, do you think this is bad? You do before the game because Mintz is down bad. The whole card's down bad. And I don't know if you got a, can we show Danny Boycane shrug? Because he knew. Did you? Yeah. What did he say? Watch Danny Boycane. Yeah. I'm happy that you asked me to talk to him and you guys video tape. What is the text say? That's crappy. You asked me to talk to him and you guys video tape. If I said it is crappy. It's shitty. Move. I just assumed you. I'm there. Wait, how did you guys switch seats? Hold on. Watch this. You do before the game. Okay. Just so small. Just a little one. But I was thinking it. You just said it. And Miami comes out on top. And Danny Boycane is a winner. And Mintz is done sending them back to the office. We're the whole office hope that Ole Miss wants to. We just go right to Miami. He's going to stay with Keith. The week leading up to the national title game. So. That was nice. Another thing too. Danny Boycane goes into Ole Miss's section. Like he was in the. He was the. That was the eye of the storm. Right. So all the Miami fans were on the other side. And if I it was an interesting thing. I'd never been to a big big college game like that. Pretty. So to see. Like all the Miami fans across. And when they would get a first down or when they would score a touchdown. And the uproar. I will say the the University of Miami one. Although they didn't have as many people there. It felt more violent. Like it felt like. They're a violent team. They're a fucking deep. Oh, it felt like. It's a conduit. Walked by their concourse on the other side. There's a possibility you might get knife. Like that's not in a bad way. But in a fandom way, that's how intense they are. Where I feel like Ole Miss is more of the fan that gets knifeed and then they sue you because they're dads of the lawyer. That's kind of the big. Good. Well, the kids in front of you guys were. I mean, that's a kid. Those are kids that. I thought right away. I can't let my kids end up. You know, I'd love them at an S. He's school being in a fraternity's park. Cool. I can't happen to be like these kids sitting in front of the day. Boy, can't. And the fact that those kids ended up on the wrong side. I don't know if we can show those kids. Oh, yeah. The one of the kids looks like someone. I can't think of it. I think you'll know. But these kids and you had left them. And all of a sudden, big catch text in our group. You got to get back over there. That was me doing a pounding motion. There's a picture of that kid right in Danny Kane's face. And they're getting obnoxious and that's kind of how. We had, we had, I feel like four tickets and then three tickets. And one of the parts, if you weren't following it along online. And some of you who don't follow bar stool are like, Oh, bar stool. We love bar stool. Bar stool is provide us everything that I've ever gotten on the media side of my life. Or at least to start to propel whatever we've done. And they do some like so many amazing things. And they have a fucking enormous following. So on the way through at minceys travels, there was a gentleman who like basically saved him his seat on the flight. And his name is Chris. He doesn't live in Arizona, but he travels here. Or maybe he does. And then he travels away. But I believe he lives away and travels to Arizona for biweekly treatments for stage four brain cancer that he has. So he was being documented as part of, you know, holding the seat minceys, making his flight to be able to even get here. So because this Chris gentleman and they found out his story became a part of the journey, they invited him and got him tickets to the game. So I ended up sitting with myself, my buddy Joey Supersteen and Chris. Love that. Is this guy battling for his life and then yet helping out minceys. So this is why it's all kind of fun. And this internet is a very special weird place. So he ends up coming over to my house and hang out pregame. And then big cat who pretty much helped facilitate and start all this with the yak and all those guys in this crazy thing. He goes this shirt that Chris showed up with. He printed the shirt of mincey past out on the flight next to him. He's the one to the left of them. Wart on a shirt to our pregame as a bar stool fan. Like nobody told him to go print the shirt. He went and rushed to go do it his own time and energy. So big cat says we're going to print those shirts on bar stool. We're going to put them up and all the proceeds are going to go to Chris. I think by the time he picked off happened, Chris and his family got over $100,000. And at this point, I think it might be like double that. I don't know what the number is. And I haven't bought my hundred shirts yet because I want that shirt. I want to wear mincey sleeping face down like that. Yeah. So you're what I think of when I think that that's where bar stool does. Right with it. And in the end, like it provides these fun viral moments of chaos. Yet along the journey, you meet the fans of bar stool. And then and then big cats given back and changing this guy's life. This guy's married and he's got a one year old. Like, I don't know how much time this guy's got left. I don't know what what more what uphill battle he's got left. We got into a little bit yesterday, but I won't share too much detail. But that was one of the things that ended up happening. So I sat with Chris and and Joey. And the next thing you know, I got to take going, Hey, we got shit going down over here. And these oldness kids are are in his grill. So I'm glad you you brought up those kids, but because it made me think of Chris, but just a wild game. I ended up leaving after half. A lot of people were criticized. How could you leave? How could you leave that? You don't care. I first of all, unreal game, unreal experience. I didn't want to get caught in the bullshit. Knowing I had to get up this morning at six o'clock and do a bunch of other work that I had scheduled. But also I didn't provide the food beforehand. Pasha, like about two months ago, reached out to Austin Matthews to facilitate somebody who could come over and cook on times that I need it. Mia, she's awesome. So she came over, cooked us the pregame and then left all the food in the oven. So I had to kind of make sure it was all ready to go by the time these guys got home and get a good night's sleep. And sure enough, Chris came back and enjoyed it and cleaned off his dish as did tape. And then men's just left it just all dirty. In the sun, they put in the dishwasher, though. I don't even care. It goes and always comes back to mincey. Yeah. I do love the fact that Chris, that guy's very funny because his one of his original tweets was, yeah, I think mincey, he's phone was dead. He got on the plane. I need to charge my phone. He plugged the charger into the outlet and fell asleep before actually plugging the charger into the phone. That's kind of mincey. And there's this dish, you know, to not scoop out and wash out that soup and that's water. It's just and then you see Chris. And I'm going to make sure that these can go right into the dishwasher. There's not work for the purse and putting them into the dishwasher. Standard practice. But the boy came mincey, busy, amazing day of content, awesome stuff. And show no Chris, maybe we can get that link up there one more time. Awesome. The big cat and everyone did that. So now, top that also we're going to get into quick support Chris at climb for Chris.com. And shadow to rig Z2 rig Z gave a pair of one of one Adidas shoes. Tenamana's way provided his couch for the night. A place to record his podcast. Seafood tower, special dessert, master staying open later, letting them fucking be obnoxious and not going to kick out. So rig Z rig Z took care of our boy too. And they're great new Adidas shoes for play has. And like you watch it within the next couple of weeks, Vince, you'll have a video where he's like, dog and Adidas. This is how this guy does things. So, um, all right. So next story, quick on this. Wasn't even really going to address this until the Ottawa Senators. This is my opinion. Drop the craziest team statement. I think I've ever seen. In which the sentence was used. I texted you biz. Just thinking of an NHL team releasing a statement in which it says, amongst other things, that request was not heard by the lowest form of trolls and sick people who scour the internet. I don't even really know where to start. Besides, I want your guys opinion. When that story, fake story broke and the tweets and the rumors were flying, would you ever have released the statement as a team, just making so many people unaware of it, actually go looking to this ridiculous rumor? No. Thanks. Yeah. Yeah, I know. What are we doing? I was, I was obviously busy all day yesterday and after talking to a few people, like you just said, you wait to see if it continues to gain tons of traction and if it's still being ridiculous in a week, then at that point you do it, but I roll wet like fuck. Pretty crazy shit to be going online, though, for that to be spread. And this isn't the first time they've dealt with a rumor buzzing around in Ottawa. Yeah, and how did that turn out? You have two best players at the time. Ask out with Carlson and Hoffman back then, right? So now it's like, do these fans want their players to leave and not want to play there? I just, I really don't get how, I don't understand how it got legs, how it even got talked about, but like if you're an auto as centered as fan and, you know, dragging guys names through the mud, like why do you, I'm a fan of the Patriots. If Drake May is cheating on his wife, I don't care. I don't care what he does. And as long as he's throwing dimes out there, I do not care. Right? So it's like, why, why do these people put their time and energy in the stuff that it does not matter at the end of the day? Worry about your own selves. Who cares what other guys are doing? Just worry about them having fun on the ice. Yeah. It sucks for guys. I mean, this is, this is shit that like, that's changed, right? This is like newer thing with the internet and these rumors that come up, whether they're true or untrue, that you just like kind of have to like deal with as a player, not saying it's easy. Probably why it's ideal if you're a player, not to be on Twitter. And I know that's way harder said than done, but it's better off meant the health career wise in my opinion. And this is speaking from somebody who was on Twitter in a day when I was getting ridiculed on Twitter. It's probably better for your career just to stay off. Now, the thing about it, like all these rumors and this ridiculous and how it catches fire like that, the team just like, you have no business bringing it up. You have no business giving it anymore legs. Maybe they're thinking, all right, well, the players now won't be asked about it in the locker room. I don't know, is that the case? Maybe they're told, hey, we released a statement on this. Do not bring it up to any of the players. Maybe that's why they did it. But I think there were numerous senators, fans who see this team statement and then have to go look in to this rumor. This, that's my thing. Like your brain. But it's to like not to defend the team and the way they handled it. Because like some of these guys are older and maybe don't live in the internet world. So they're like hearing the fact that there's this rumor online. And they're like, fuck that. They're like, why would we let this continue to breathe and live in speculation where we could just come out and nip it in the butt where like you said, like the people that he described as far as like the trolls and the people who would even come up with this rumor and then put it on Twitter. And then the people who would continue to like retweet it and recycle it and talk about it. Like he, you, you, you tend to not want to give those people the oxygen. Maybe they fired early by doing it. But I also just think more of the attention should be on once again, like people who would just like put this online. Like this is obviously insane. Like it makes me uncomfortable. Like we come on and we joke around about shit. But like when it comes to guys personal life, like for instance, this guy's taking a leave of absence. So you hear that this guy's dealing with something behind the scenes. Like you just like, you just like you want that person to be in a good place and and and that's it. Like the hockey even comes as a second. So I are all like I think it's fucking crazy that the rumor was put online. I think it was crazy. Like in the past that it was. And I guess it sucks that we have to talk about this now. But I can see why Ottawa came out and nipped it in the butt. Like I would not have done that. That would be of my criticism. But do they hire like a PR firm and like when's the right time to do that? And also maybe this is players coming to them and saying, what the fuck dude? Like this none of this is true. And my wife or my girlfriend is at home losing her mind because I'm being dragged into the and and and and now they're uncomfortable. They don't they've never been in a situation where all of a sudden their names being talked about online in this. So there's just so much that goes into it. And like you said, you hope it doesn't. I think Elliot talked about his podcast. I haven't listened. I was like, what is happening with the situation? And when I talked to Jeff and G, they essentially said like he would base if his name was on that list, he'd be like, get me the fuck out of town where. Yep. And he has a shake it has had where if him and his wife and kids had to deal with that, they might say, absolutely see a fucking later. And he already said they've been through this stuff before. So the sense fans, the normal ones who are good fans, they're minding their own business, which people don't do anymore. People, people need to mind their own business. But the fans who do and they just like the sense, they don't deserve, they're like, what the fuck? Like this, this organization, they, it seemed like things were turning, they get in the playoffs last year and now it's this. And the problem is is that I don't think Elliot talks about it. I know we're not talking about it. If it was just that rumor, I wouldn't have brought that up on this show, fucking online bullshit about somebody else's life, like none of my business, none of our business. But the team, yeah, okay, makes the statement and it's now discussed on all these different platforms. So a shitty situation. And I mean, if there's ever, ever, a, a city at a team, you're not looking to play the day that this news breaks, it's the apps and the apps just, I mean, can you not, can you not get like the devils yesterday, right? But even Josh Manson had four points. Like it's just like everyone and like bring them on. I mean, I honestly, I feel bad. I feel been wet. You made a good point. You feel bad for the girlfriends and the wives. Like it's not true, whether it is true or not. Like you, you feel bad for them, but the Colorado avalanche coming in time must have been like, all right, boys, here we are. No, they were on the road, right? It's like point night tonight for the fellas. Where did finish eat to? Yeah, you got to stay out, release in the statement. You got senators, guys on their phones, and then you see the dog walking into the fucking right. And then Macar comes in and then all of a sudden, it was a walk in the morning. Hey, Nate, hey, Nate, anything? You know, Chris was Carl and I said, yeah, I shoveled your driveway this morning instead of doing pregame skate. And right now, I mean, McKinnon has, I think four points last night, goal and three assists, I believe. McDavid had the hat trick earlier in the week. He gets another one last night. We got celebrity with the performance in LA. Biz, you tweeted out, I can't believe this guy's on a 1030 Eastern. This is not right. We're watching legit greatness. We're watching things happen from a night's year on that we haven't seen a 19 year old do since Sydney, Crosby was 19 years old. So before we get into celebrity and McDavid, I do want to bring in a very special guest right now, speaking of Barkan and speaking of skating. I'm being told he's ready. So why aren't you bringing him in? What's up boys? The dog. Oh, the fucking dog is here. What's up boys? It's buzzing. You're buzzing this year, dog. Yeah. Grats. Sometimes. Sometimes. Sometimes. I don't really know where to start. This season for you has been unlike any other, your pace, your goal scoring, but the team and how good it's been. How have you guys stayed so motivated and continued playing so well when you didn't lose in regulation for close to two months? Yeah, I just think I mean, you guys have been there. There's always that sense of you're just always uncomfortable, even when you're winning. You think a dog could just go to shit at any time. So you know, we've had a couple guys go down now, but we were so healthy forever too. And we haven't had that in so long. So yeah, it's been great. It's from day one this year. It's felt a little different, I think. That's, he's been awesome. Yeah, I don't know. It's hard to explain. You know, we've, we thought a great start and it's been a lot of fun. It's quicker before you go. So when you say it felt different, even in camp, like just, you even could tell a while this feels like special right now. Yeah, I mean, we'll see how the playoffs go, but I do think when you lose like that, like heartbreaking of a loss, it can kind of bring you together with guys like, you know, we've, we've had like a lot of new guys every year. Like we trade for like six guys during the season or, you know, we got two new goalies last year and a lot of new players, Nelly came in. It just takes a bit. I've never been traded, but it can't be easy. You know, and by the way, Nelly's playing on real right now. What do you want goals right now? Yeah. So I think maybe, like, you know, I hope, I guess that, you know, it's definitely brought us together in this regular season, just losing like that, heartbreaking loss and most of the same groups coming back or came back this year. So, yeah, I don't know. It's, it's definitely felt a little more comfortable for sure. Yeah, a little bit more familiarity. I mean, you talked about Nelly there and then of course, Nacious, like that chaos last year and how that all went down. And obviously he, he has a few skill sets like his speed that can kind of keep up with you. How have you felt like that's progressed as far as your on a, like, chemistry with him and what he's been able to do and provide you guys? Yeah. I mean, I think we needed a little time to, we played pretty similar, you know, especially off the rush. So I did think it last year was pretty good together. You know, we had some really good moments, but I think this year we're just a lot more communication. He's a lot more comfortable. I'm more comfortable and yeah, we just kind of try to get, get out of each other's way a little bit, I think when, when it is off the rush and obviously in zones different, but when he has the puck, I just try to let him go. You know, I'm not trying to catch up to him or try to call for it. You know, he's so good at it. Like he's one of the best in the world at the zone entries, you know, and, and transport in the puck up the ice and he's so fast and big. So yeah, he's, he's been a horse is here. Do you feel that relieves a little bit of that responsibility off of you from like an energy perspective where you're like, fuck, normally I would have done that more. I mean, you have you, McCarr on the ice, but when he's able to transport it, not saying that Rantin didn't do that, but I felt like you were relied on more to do that through the Neutral Zone. Yeah, him and Miko are just so different. I definitely think, you know, I do get to defer a bit to, to Marty off the rush. It does say a little energy. I do think I really do. Like a lot of Neutral Zone Recruits, I'll just go to the wall and he'll just start doing laps around the zone around the whole ice. Like it's and he's like goes through triangles and dances everybody. It's, there's no fear. And then Miko, you know, he's, he's one of the best download players in this league. So, you know, that was something that he would do a lot for me as well. So just different, both special obviously. Have you noticed a big difference from the beginning of your career from now of like, yeah, in the beginning of your career, you got to get pucks in deep, you know, going on the forecheck, but now it just seems like you guys carry the puck in no matter what force him, not even force him, but making good plays. The blue line trusts in each other is that something like your coaches, like, hey, boys, don't dump it in. I want you guys holding on to the puck, making your plays or is it just kind of something you guys do? Yeah, you know, he encourages it. You know, he encourages delaying looking for D he wants to D up in every rush. I think everyone does. But, you know, I definitely turn around. I just look for number eight, whenever I can. Not a bad option. No. Yeah, he encourages, he wants possession, you know, and there is a time and place for us to dump it in. And I think we do get in trouble even against Ottawa last night. We started turning everything over and they got to quickly. So we have a really good forecheck. And I think that's an underrated part of our game. Is our forecheck? And when we need to use it, we will. And obviously in the spring, summer, hopefully, we're going to need it. Watching McCarr, it really reminds people of like a Bobby or it sounds crazy to say. And business said everyone's playing for a second place in the norris trophy, as long as he's in this league. And we've talked about you and Sid and McDavid and like hockey being your life and how driven and focused you are. Is kale like that? Or is he kind of actually, he seems like laid back. I just don't know what he's like away from the ring, just seeing the dominance on the ice. Yeah, I think it is. You know, I don't know how you could be that good and not really, really care and think about it. And he's so competitive as well. Like he's very, very competitive. Duffer, quieter guy, but he has his moments of, you know, he wants to win. He's sneaky physical out there too. He'll, he can very strong, very wiery. Yeah, I mean, yeah, just a laid back guy and it's, I don't know, every day, it's something. You know, he's just, he's just so good. It's, I agree. I think it's second place every year for the Norris, for the whole of everyone else in the league. He's so good defensively. I think he's got a lot better defensively. Like he shuts down everybody. You know, he puts defense first every night and it's impressive. It's very impressive. And then you got the big boys back there too, even like the addition of Brent Burns. What does he mean to a team for you guys? Like he's just, he's almost like a man of mystery. You don't know what's in his backpack. You don't know what's going on in his shoes. I don't know what's going on in his shoes. You don't, you ever look, no, I've never looked. I think he's a big coffee guy, isn't he? Yeah, I've heard it's a coffee thing, but I, he gets the rest of the room. He's over two every day. I don't even see it. Yeah, I don't even see it. Are you not a coffee guy? I am, I am. Yeah, but he's just at the rink. I think he's already made his coffee by the time I get there. He knows so. But yeah, he's been awesome. He's, you know, he's got his, his ranch and his, all his animals and. He tells a story about when a snake got loose in his house. Have you heard of this one? Yeah. Like, I don't want to remember him. He tell us this one, boys. I feel like I've heard it. I don't know if it was when he was on. Tell it to tell it Nate. Yeah, like he said he, I don't think he has snakes anymore, but he has. He'd have snakes in like drawers, like, like, the labeled. So he knows like, or each one is, I'll be saying a cage. But one was missing for 11 months in his house, the big snake. Like, and he ended up finding it in his sub pump. Just, I guess it doesn't need to eat for like two years, this snake or something. So it was just, but like, I couldn't imagine having a snake. How could you go to sleep? How could you sleep? You're kidding. That's why you're not looking in the backpack, man. There it is. I always like that. You're both like the training and stuff like that. What's like the latest thing you've been doing till I get an edge? And I was, it's over. Told me a funny story. You were doing a signing and they were like, Hey, can you tell me what, uh, what the water exercises are that you do in the pool? And you were like, no. And then you, okay. He would tell you that's you last time we had him on. That's true. Yeah. Uh, I think this year I've been trying to lift really heavy, um, very, very heavy lifting, um, I did it in the summer before, yeah, before the day before. Yeah. You could tell when you broke that stick, the other night it looked pretty easy. Yeah. Yeah. Some strength on that one. All right. Give us the pregame right now. Like, are we talking about front squats? Yeah. It'll change a lot. Um, my, um, performance guy who treats me and gives me a lot of exercises just here with me. Um, he was around track athletes for a long time. And all those guys at the fastest people in the world lift very heavy, um, before they run, before they compete. Um, so I think it's something in hockey that a lot of, a lot of, um, I don't know, when I was growing up, it was like, oh, like if you lift heavy, you're going to blow your back or you knees or whatever. So, and I think that's a myth. Um, and so yeah, that's what we've been trying to do a little bit more. Um, and the whole team's doing it. Um, we have an unreal strength coach, Alexi Pinozy. He's giving us a ton of good lifting to do. Um, so yeah, that's something a little different to season. Oh, Gary Roberts did that when he got traded to Pittsburgh. I remember, um, right before the game. I mean, he'd come into the locker room probably five minutes before he went on the ice and warm up in a lather and he would be doing all like explosive heavy lifting. So he was kind of ahead ahead of the game with that, I guess. Yeah, it's like low reps, um, like heavy lifting, you should kind of turn everything on. Um, my warm physical isn't that long or that hard, but it's just a couple reps and get out there. So always fine tuning it. It's awesome. I mean, like, you don't have to throw it a number, but I would imagine it's easily in the said, the six digits. It's far as like what you're spending in order to keep your body operating. Uh, do you fly anybody in as far as like ART or needling or do you have everything that's set up in Colorado? Yeah. So, um, Marchion is, um, he's full time here for like five, six years. So, um, he was with, um, actually, I met him through Sid when I was 17, Andy O'Brien and him were friends in Calgary. And I was like, I don't need this. Like, what is this treatment? You know, it's like, I don't need treatment. Um, and then he was with the tennis player. Um, and then she retired. So I, I asked if he'd come to Denver and, um, it's been amazing. Um, Kale and Gabe, uh, using the time as well now. So, um, yeah, it's, it's, uh, he's a special, special treatment person. I mean, he's coming to Olympics with us. He's, uh, he's awesome. And, um, it's very lucky to have him down here. That's awesome. Do you guys have like, uh, uh, congrats, obviously on being named to the Canadian team? But do you guys have a group chat going already? Is like that already firing? You guys getting ready for the trip over to Italy? Yeah. Yeah, it's a group chat. Um, I think that's a great thing. They asked what their goal song should be. No. I'm staying out of that one. I just, let's hit answer all these questions. You know, uh, it has to answer that. And it's like, I'll just score all the goals you guys picked this all. No. Yeah, I wonder what said would pick. Uh, yeah, I don't know what we're going to pick. Maybe marshy will pick. I think you would say the dog days are over. That's one of his favorite jams. I know that something from the hip. Maybe that's a big Canadian. Yeah. That's what the whole junior guy just did that, right? The hip or no. Is that what you guys should go like a Lannus more set or something? Yeah, maybe something else. What are you, what are you listening to the most, Nate? Uh, honestly, I don't, I'm not listening to time music right now. Um, what I mean by car, I just try to, uh, there's so much like good podcasts that they're now that I try to listen to or, um, we're all just call people. So it's kind of what I'm doing. You used to be heavy in the rap game, right? Yeah, yeah. I'm 30 now, man. You know, I'm just trying to chill out chill a little bit. I wanted to be listening to that court of the rig trying to get his BPMs down. Get, get no angry going to the ring. Dog before we let you go. You were actually the first guy I believe when asked about the news that the arena is going to be a little smaller in Italy. I think you were the first guy to say, I don't give a shit. Uh, I don't care. So when you'd been hearing about it, you probably right away had that thought. Like why is everyone talking about this? Who cares? We're all playing on the same ice. Yeah, I could, I mean, Peter Bauer, I did an interview with him and he asked me and, um, I was like, who cares? You know, like, what am I going to do? You know, like worry about. I size or, yeah, or I just mean like, I can control how big they make it. If it's a three on three rank, you know, like we're going to go over there and play, play hard and hopefully win. And I think I saw corners say the same thing. Um, I know Sid doesn't care at all. I think he likes a little smaller race, to be honest. Uh, so yeah, it's, uh, I don't think it matters. It's all the same for everybody and I can't get over there. Well, thank you so much. This is so awesome. This is our final episode on YouTube before we go over to Netflix. Yeah, so can I really be saying you're going to Netflix? Yes. I know. I know. I know. Thanks. Go ahead. Excited. We're dropping Tom Brady for our first interview on there. No way. It was cool talking to him. I mean, you talk about my sense and how you guys operate and how, how much of an investment is, you know, as far as your free time into being as good as you are hockey. But yeah, those, you guys are a different level buddy and we're grateful that we get to watch your night and night out. And as far as this team can, let go of his buddy, bring it home. Fucking bring it home, buddy. Yeah. Bring it home, bring it home. Shut the fuck up with. Listen, but I wanted to thank you because our sandbaggers will remain on YouTube. And our YouTube channel has grown a lot because of that. And that I'll start with you. Biz and I and Keith have brought up that we go three on three now, scramble. You sit and then you chuck in marshy. He joins your little rematch team against us. That would be our, that would be our cabit links. That is that offers out there for this summer. So think about it. And I'm, I'm so into YouTube golf now and I watched that whole, like when, when that guy was late, I was on Luke, Luke, you know what you have said? You probably would have reacted more aggressively than we. That was I've both, but I think with handled it as aggressive as possible. Yeah, but it was a boat caron. It wasn't about me. I know, I know, I know. It was, that was all tied. What if nature shows up late for a fucking, you know, Western conference matchup against and it is true. It's a lot of money on the line. And I would just laugh and like, I don't think like, because that's how like hockey guys would like, you know, turn people for being late and not caring. You just, you get roasted, but I don't think golfers get roasted like that. No, they don't. I learned. No, you didn't know what to do. Actually, there's, Juan, Juan has his guys. I, I'll send the video to you. They like imitate me and make fun of me and rip on me. I'll send it over. But I'm, I wanted to thank you for, you know, for the first sandbagger and crush in it, buddy. Do you think I'm a sandbagger? I mean, we've talked about this before. I'm asking you're like, you're one over through eight holes and you're getting a shot of hole. So yeah, well, I don't think you've watched much recently. I just had the front, the front nine on my life. Now you, we mentioned Marsha as a third. Do you chat with him frequently? Like are you guys texting every week? Not every week, but we probably text once a month. Yeah. He's a funny fucking guy. Yeah, I was watching the interview and he, the roof was open and the pigeons. Did you laugh? I laughed. Yeah, I'm sorry. I did laugh. Because it's true. You know, I did your joke too, the worst model of all time. So, you know, yeah, that was funny. They're all funny. I appreciate that. Do you think that he would do it? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah, I don't know if he golfs much, though. I don't think he does, but I don't know if that's fair. I don't know if that's fair. Oh, as far as you guys maybe want to get the show, we'll probably take, we'll take a couple shots, I think we'll let Marshaugh tee off from the ladies, teas. That's what we'll do. I think he can't, but chirping me, calling me a pigeon. Do you, do you laugh when you see shit like when he goes to Toronto and he just stirs it up the way that he stirs it out? Like, it's so funny. It's so funny. Like, I think he's just toyed with the whole thing. I got to think he means anything he says. No, I think we're in his way. Like, your booed, what do you say? You ran Martin or out of town. That's what I'm like. This guy's a master. Yeah. To say you ran him out of town. Yeah, it's just stuck to you guys ran him out. It's like this guy is a master at getting people out of the house. We could maybe get it sponsored by Timmy's too, because they're doing the Timmy's commercials all together now. Yeah, those are fun. We can get some nice sponsorships. Yeah, we can get some nice sponsorships going. Wait, all three of you do Timmy's are just you and Sid. Yeah, yeah, Marshaugh, he's in a new one. Yeah, they're funny. Yeah, his little teddy bear. Is that what they, is that what I'm not in Canada. I haven't even seen him. I think he's got a lot of cards, but Nate and Sid took team friendly deals with Tim Hortons just so they could add Marshaugh and that's exactly the leadership these guys are providing. Big, big pay cut there. But Sean got a six year deal from Timmy's too. Awesome for him. Awesome for him. All right, Nate. We'll talk to you soon. Good luck. You're the best. Thanks, Nate. You're the best. That was incredible. What a surprise. Is this the last live one on you two? The last live show. Yeah, last live show. So the dog came. I know, but get a tattoo for it. Get a tattoo for it. I want to say congrats to Sweden. World Junior's we haven't been on because that was Monday night. Dude, that, that country, the way they're producing players, I texted murals who we all know is a Swedish fan. He was rooting for this, this championship. I said, you have to go back and find out why are they all such good skaters? They all fly. They all can move around out there in incredible country. They, like I said, that wouldn't be shocked if they won the gold medal in Italy either at the Olympics. But I, I've our Stenberg. What a player. I texted a few people. He's like Zeta Berg the way he kind of moved and they said, yeah, better skater too. Like he, this guy was, was incredible. So I think the number one, the race for number one pick, that's alive. I don't think going into the year, it was like, oh, it's McKenna. I think there's kind of more discussion now. And then before we get to NHL also, Tyne and Lawrence, who is a possible number one pick as well. He left Muskegon in the USA. He's going to join BU. He was committed to BU for next year, but they're bringing them in halfway through a stud player. How much did you have to pay? Yeah. What did you have to get them? What did you pay him with? I didn't have to do a thing. He just wanted to come be a terrier sooner. Last year they brought their goalie and Big Mike. He was incredibly lost on national title game halfway through. He came from the USHL Omaha. So now they got Tyne and Lawrence. And if he lights it up, then he's in the discussion for number one, right? If you're dominating college hockey, I think that that was the thing about celebrating. It was complete domination. So who grabs a sweet and once again and go BU. Big Mike, the goalie I bring up, he is a prospect for the New Jersey devil. Can we break Pasha on it? Don't even play. Don't even play the video. This is unbelievable. Pasha. This is something that you couldn't have imagined at any point in time leading up to this year. And I want to give you a chance, Pasha. How mad were you at nine, nothing? How mad were you last night against Pittsburgh? Where is your level of confidence in anything changing, anything turning around? And break it down for it? I honestly wasn't even that I wasn't even that mad at nine, nothing. Like I was mad at one nothing, two nothing, three nothing. And then after that, I was kind of happy. I was hoping they'd get 10 because like I would much rather that than them losing my one goal and have it stay status quo. I thought there's no way that that wasn't the straw that broke the camel's back. I am shocked that Keith and Fitz is to love a job. And then they shot, they had no show again last night. Like I'm at a loss for words. This is the most frustrated I've ever been as a devils fan. There's been some dark times in like whatever 2014, 15, 16, but like the team socked back then. But in terms of like expectations and talent on the roster and what I'm seeing right now, I'm completely shocked. But like it's very clear, this team needs a major shake up. Keith has lost the room. And it's just like they have so many problems like I don't even know where to begin. It's fucking not. Do you see any good like anything they can take that even looks somewhat decent or it's all bad there? I mean, the weird thing is is like they're actually doing a decent job of like controlling play and generating chances, but like they can't finish anything. And like any like point blank shot is into the goal is chest. Their goal scored above expected is deadlast and lead by a long shot. And like even in that honors game, like they were like controlling play most of the game. And just putting everything in Sorokin's chest and then the aisles would just come down on a rush boom top shell. Same thing. Now they're two minutes. Devils kind of in the offensive zone. Islanders down the rush boom goal. Like the owners didn't really control play, believe it or not, for a nine nothing game. So like that's like the only silver lining I can see is that like they're at least like somewhat generating chances even though they can't fucking finish them. But like, yeah, there's not much to be optimistic about right now. But what's weird before the nine nothing game, Marstrom looked like he had finally turned a corner. I think he had strung together four or five solid starts in a row. And it was weird because everyone's like, okay, like now they're getting the saves, but the goals have disappeared. So it's just like nothing's clicking whack them all. Yeah. Yeah, whack them all. I'm fucking. Yeah. I'm shocked. And so because you don't believe that he can get the room back and you don't believe FITZE can make the moves possible. You want them both gone. I want them both gone. So all of a sudden you have maybe the assistant GM taking role there. Like how quickly how quickly can you hire GM who's coaching the team? It seems like you can't really do both at the same time mid season. Maybe you can if you're lining up things away from the team, but my thing is Devils fans seem pretty disgusted with ownership and about that they're way more into all their other teams than maybe they are the devils. Do you feel that? Well, Posh is fucking tagging them on Twitter. That was the only one that was what I was getting at. But what that's when I knew you were like full Joker in jail mode when you're tagging the owners on Twitter. Is that that crazy? Yes, it is. I think that's crazy. Like you're acting like I found their home addresses and I'm picking it outside of that. I was these are public Twitter accounts. It's not that crazy to tag them. But also we talk about all time. Like you've hired FITZE who played how many games in the NHL. I'm pretty sure you at the thousand mark. And if he didn't, he was close. And you're and and then Keith who's coach in the NHL before. So you have to trust the people that you hire and back off until you decide not to have them in the seat. Now, but that reached that point. Buddy, it reached that point. I understand, but I asked you about Keith at the start of the season because I basically, I don't dig right. I just asked I felt like last year with the injuries that they went through and the adversity they were going through. He kind of just kept playing the same card where he gets like angry and maybe I don't know how the teaching or is going and is getting through it. I don't know what the relationship between him and the player is like, and you basically said like there's no way the board would end up being the next guy in that seat. So if you are going to fire him, who are you going to hire? And you said that that wasn't going to be a possibility at the start of the year. I for sure said that. I'm not acting like I've been on this fire key fire FITZE train for a long time. On Monday's pot, I said I wasn't on the fire FITZE train. A lot has changed since the start of the year, let alone since fucking Monday. I was a big key defender. I thought that he was doing a solid job, but it's very clear he's lost the room. And also it's made clear to me that even before this kind of little skid that his coaching style isn't suited for the make up of the roster. This needs to be a pawn hockey rush team like they were in 2022 fast skilled and they're playing a slow brand of hockey. So yeah, I was a big key defender. I was a big FITZE defender, but I've come to my wits end. Do you like their roster? Oh, sorry. What? No, go ahead. Like looking at their roster, if you looked at it, would you, especially going into the season, you're like, okay, I like our roster. So the only thing that's like kept me from fucking walking onto a bridge and making some big decisions is that I like their, I like their core. They're, they're top dogs. I like a lot. It's everything around it that I have a problem with. Like I love Nico Hescher. I love Jack Hughes. Luke Hughes. I'm bullish on, but he's had a horrible season. I like Timo Meyer. I like Jesper Bratt. Those are the key pieces and I like that chorus. Just the surrounding pieces, the bottom six, some of the defensemen, like it's, that is what needs to change. So to me, at least they're chorus solid. If they didn't have a solid core, I think we'd have much bigger problems. That's why I'm remaining somewhat optimistic. So FITZE got all those guys. So then you can't, not really. Not really. It was where I was. But, but, but, you mentioned you really love the D. So now you're saying you, you know, you're bullish on Luke. You were raven about your D, your D core. Well, and when you say fire, fire key, fire FITZE, I understand that they lost nine, nothing. They didn't have a penalty minute. Yeah. That's very concerning as well. What's the coach in the GM have to do with literally every guy just taking a nine, nothing beaten and not doing a thing? Yeah. That's a fan. I'm looking at that. And I'm saying, All right, we are bringing a new coach and a new GM. Are you going to be, are you going to be able to make them care? Not saying they don't care, but in that game, yeah, like who are your foxhole guys other than Dylan, where you trust in situations like that? Like who are your, you know, who? Because I know, I think my house would have been in there. I know my, I need more foxhole guys. Like Paul, Paul Conner will get dirty. He'll, he'll drop the gloves. Like I, I think Connor Brown throws some hits. He plays physical, but I agree with you. They need, they need more foxhole guys. They need more foxhole guys. And I think like part of that is that like, Keith had already lost the room and there's this sort of apathy already there before the honors game. I'm not defending it. There's for sure should have been, you know, start running guys, start dropping gloves, whatever, like hustle, shit up once it's four, five, six, seven, and fucking eight, nine, nothing. But, yeah, like I said, they have a lot of issues. So yeah, it's very, very, very concerned. If you, if they were to fire GM coach, are you essentially saying that that playoffs may not be a possibility this year? You were sent you writing off this season? I'll give you a $400 buyout right now. I won't. No, no, no. I think whoever, whoever invited Frank the tank to that dinner, he's the one who should be fired. He's, he was fired to that dinner. That didn't just happen to be in random. That was random. But they were 12, 4 and 1, I think. And since then, I want to say they're like nine, 15 and two. Or so. So I know that that coincides with the injury to their best player. But my last thing is you say these guys have earned the rights for the no trade. You believe that they should take a trade anyways. You don't really agree with the no trade thing and actually wanting to be there even though you earn that in your deal. So you've said, Fitsy, to get rid of them, trade them and give away draft picks. Just to get rid of those contracts. How, how are you willing to get rid of draft picks when Grenelli's telling me on the chat that you have the 25th rank prospect pool in the NHL? No, granted that could be from one site or one list and they could be hiring another. It's not like you have a ton coming. You kind of need your draft. I don't look at it that way. I think like the time to win is now or at least I thought that before. And like, I don't care about next year's first that might turn to a good player in three, four years. Like you, it's addition by subtraction. I don't care if you lose the Dougie Hamilton trade, but getting rid of that player, opening up the, the roster spots for a COVID-19 and Emmett's two righties. And also that nine million bucks you can then better spend on a top six, winger and a centerman. I don't care about draft picks. The time to win is now like, you know, this core is not getting any younger. I wouldn't say like the window's closing by any means. I think the window's just opened and it's tough because the core hasn't had legit cracks. Like I'm not trying to fire ricochet the least, but it's not like this is the least now or the healthy core has had eight cracks. The playoffs and failed. They've had one legit crack at the playoffs that beat the Rangers and then lost to the canes. And then the last two years, they've been so hurt. So this core has had one legit crack at the playoffs. It was their first ever crack. They beat, they won a series. So it's hard to kind of fucking write everyone off being like, well, this core is not working when they haven't had a fair shake. Uh, who's your guy? Like, who do you put in those positions? Have you seen online who they're, the chatter is about if they do replace both seats and if it's just coach, who do you got? I haven't seen any chatter. If my personal choice would be to bore, I love PD to bore as a coach. I have no idea who would replace Fitzgerald. Um, but at this point, like if for no other reason than just shaking things up through, there has to be something this fucking city on your hand sitting around like it's like, it's mind numbing. They need to shake up. Well, state of the union right there from a loss puppy, a lost soul right now. Um, Stamcoes might be able to score some goals for you. Still doesn't want money. Well, no, it's not, it's not about Stamcoes to play with what money. It makes eight million bucks. I'm just saying. It's been mentioned a lot that like the fan base. I don't know if the team really when Quinn Hughes went to Minnesota, that was kind of the, the ultimate kick while they were all down and it's just they've everyone stayed down. So you had mentioned I didn't, you didn't want to send a ton that way considering you could sign them in two years. Now you just worry, worry, worry that he's going to sign him Minnesota and you'll never get the crack at him. But we'll see what happens with the devil's moving forward. Get rid of posh, sorry, posh, I'd like to stay quickly in in the Metro because Philadelphia guys, what a story this is. On a, they're, they second place in the Atlantic right now. No, third place. They're one point back at the islanders with two games in hand. The Trevor Ziegress show against Anaheim. Was that Tuesday night? What a, what a night. This guy was on fire. His interview after the game was incredible. Complete bounce back year. I think people were questioning where, where his game was at. He gets out of Anaheim. He's flourished in Philly. He loves being there. Gee put in the chat like he's got to be resigned. Is that a nine or 10 million dollar a year contract? Like I've read other things that said nine a year, five year deal. Biz, have you bet, did you expect this out of him? I expected to talk to challenge him and get to a different level than maybe we saw on Anaheim. He had that big first year and then obviously things weren't going well with the coach not seeing eye to eye. I don't know with how much the relationship with Verbeek had to do with that. They dealt with all the bullshit. But I think you're just seeing a player that, you know, he gets out of a horrible situation. He's given new life. A team where, I mean, I don't know what type of expectations people had in Philadelphia. I don't think it certainly wasn't this, this degree. And he's being given that ice time and that opportunity and he's flourishing with it. And I couldn't be happier for the kid, man. I think that everything happened really fast when he first got to Anaheim. I think he was on the cover of the EA video game. You know, he does the Michigan. He's, you know, sports center here, ESPN here, like getting interviewed. So it was probably a hard couple of years for him. And despite that, all you hear about how is unbelievable. The guy is behind the scenes. I still with his teammates and how he's wanted. So I couldn't be happier for the kid, man. And it's awesome. It's awesome to see. Yeah, you can just tell that he's, he's like a little kid out there having fun. Is interview after he's smiling, having a good time. He's chirping the, you know, the Anaheim brass for how much, how quick the phone call was with them. I mean, look at the fans. You can tell the fans love him there in Philly. He's not a typical Philadelphia fan that everybody loves where they're going to be running guys through the glass and all that stuff. But they're appreciating what he brings on the offensive side. His shootouts have been amazing. He's going to get a night like I'd give him whatever Jack Hughes makes. I'd give him that like he's, you know, they kind of remind me of each other of players. But I just, I love the fact that he's out there having fun again. You can tell like the his, his love for the game is back whether he lost it or not. But I really love just to see the joy in his face when he's playing. And with nice coming into where you have a player who is this highly touted prospect, who essentially is saying, I don't want to play for your organization. And then you get this guy who's basically just chucked away who's coming there and embraced the city and thriving there. I think that that's the turnaround story where now they get to focus on Zegress as opposed to losing Cutter Go chase. So to not only feel that for as long as the season's been, but going head to head and then your guy fucking his first star and doing all that, that's a, that's a pretty fucking good night. I think that that night was probably the most electric night they've had in that building for a while. And it was all, it was Cutter. It was Zegress being great outdoing him. Cutter still scores in the game pretty sick. And then the Philly crowd being alive. I, I, I had clicked off our zoom. Did you put up the picture of the celebration after the goal? Did you get? Yes, with the phone down. Yeah. No, no, there's another. Oh, I don't, can we not show the one G. I think R.A. tweeted it as well. It's unreal. It's like shooting down on him. He's so, but you see tons of fans behind him just going bananas and the fires haven't had a ton to cheer for him. When Keith said not the typical Philly fan favorite were, yeah, they love, you know, Bobby Clark style, Lindros killing people when he was in his heyday. Mike Richards how he played there. They're starving for an offensive. I'll say superstar. I don't, I'm not going to put Zegress there, but he's a star. And that's been kind of the issue with like the lack of ice time for Michkov. I keep saying like I trust Rick talk it as a coach. I think he knows what he's doing. The team's winning. It seems like there's a faction of fans disgusted with his ice time. I think he'd be getting it. If, if they have it and the superstar level potential that they believe in was there. But right now it's not, but that's why they love Zegress. They want a game breaker in Philly. They haven't had one in so long. That picture's incredible. That's sick. Yeah. Because Philly Philly fans understand like they know the, the whole trade thing, everything that happened, what this game means to Zegress, what it means to go to like they understand the nuances of the game. So that that picture is unbelievable. He should have that in his bedroom. Another thing too is you have all this talent and things aren't going well and you almost feel like you're at the mercy of this, this NHL club, right? I'm sure there was plenty of periods over the course of them negotiating the contract with Anaheim or him having to sign that bridge deal and then play through it and not get the reps or the ice time you wanted battling with his coach where he wanted to be like, get me the fuck out of here. I'll go, he probably thought I'd rather go play in the American League 22 minutes tonight just to be able to like have fun and be that kid again. And I'll throw it back at you to have you ever kind of felt that where and then you had the opportunity as like a game where you could shove it back to an organization that maybe did you dirty a little bit? You want to know my return to Pittsburgh? Yeah. Oh, fuck. Okay. Here we go. I talked to you about that about shoving it in their face and letting them know what they made. They had won the cop, right? And so it's like, hey, you won the cop, but you'll see what you see what you're missing these days. The Pittsburgh on Anaheim, uh, thickly lost four and nothing I was minus four. So I showed them, biz. I showed Pittsburgh. Fuck you. Fuck around and trade me over regret the day. That was mine. I don't know Keith. If you shoved it in somebody's face, that's amazing. That was that was fucking great delivery, buddy. Yeah. They're like, wow, that's great. We really hit a home run. Oh, fuck. That's what I went like fans of your own. What a trade. That's if they have like a cool, it's cool. It's a random. They start to steal your girlfriend. You come to town and they get the win and see that. So you're, he looks over your job safe. Hey, that's a job. Say, wait. Do you see tonight, boys? I'm going to send Mel and arena all home pissed off besides the Whitney fans. M and M. You walking in. Don't do these weak arms are heavy. Whits back about the snap six. Peace guys. I tried to get spaghetti in there with my legs. Won't box out. Won't change in time. Leave my guys in a bad spot all the time. Oh, it's fine. All right. All right. I'm getting off. But another another team down bad. Winnipeg and. Last night was was unreal. All the losing that they've that they've done and how bad they've been and they get up three one on my oilers. McDavid scores a goal with like 20 seconds left in the second. But Winnipeg they're holding on to the lead halfway through the third. And this is kind of their season like in a nutshell. Pass goes right to Jonathan Taves. I don't know how it went through a stick, but it was taped to tape. It might have been rolling a little. And it's a turnover. Hyman ends up putting it back back of the net ties it up. Then the oilers get a power play. Bouchard scores about two minutes later. Winnipeg loses four three doesn't get a point. So. G wrote is it time to break up the core like I yeah, I actually don't know because I haven't watched them enough. I just see that they're just losing and losing and winning the president's trophy and being this bad. I don't think it's ever happened before. There are three in 20 in their last 23 games. I would have I didn't know that bad. It was like three and 12 in their last 15. Three in 20 and that like that is tough times coming to the rank like if you're just those are bad. How are you not? If Pasha wants a new coach and a GM like I'm just a or Jets fans looking for a new coach here. I mean they won the president's trophy last year, but this is like are they are they kind of just thrown away like you have to do something if you're three and 20. You're either saying all right this season's done or you're going to try to save it. I have no idea. But it's like when you got the best goalie in the league, it reminds me of the Montreal days when they had carry price for all those years and not doing well like when you have the best goalie in the league every year. Like you got to do something because the window is closing there right. He's getting older, but at some point you have to either trade him, but like how do you trade the best goalie in the world? Has that ever happened besides the patty watch raid? So it's something's got to get there. I don't know what it is or is it a legit relocation again. Well, we'll see what happens. I would say tank, but there's not a chicken dicks chance again. The first overall pick. Oh no. No. No. You know, Calder has never had a top three pick. That's crazy. I'm not surprised. We got another guest right now, very special guest, unreal human being warrior Kelly chase. Let's bring him in G and I should say chaser co host of an awesome pod with. I know ice, ice, it is. Ice guardians. I love how you been chaser. What's going on? Boys, how are you? Great. I've been watching your stuff as usual. It's been great to make me laugh. It's been okay, man, a little bit of a struggle, but hey, you know, it's nothing to whine about. Somebody's got it worse somewhere. Chaser, I've been seeing these clips like nonstop. You and Holly with the old guys snapping it around. It's been awesome. How much have you been enjoying being in the podcast space? And it isn't, isn't it great just like setting the cat fire up and telling all these old school stories? It's the best. And the funny thing is, you know, we wanted to kind of start slow. So we're sort of like, you know, let's get some of our old buddies on here and some of the stories like when don't I grew up together? So his views were when they went over whatever was a million or whatever, we're like, you know, you had all Ontario, you know, or Canada. Anybody that drove a John Deere was on, you know, listened to that. But when you had like, like but I don't know if you heard Basil McCray the other day, tell the story about the toughest fight he ever had. He said, the toughest fight he ever had. He goes, well, it was easy. He goes, that's when Chaser brought me home at four in the morning for me. St. Louis. And he said, and I had puke on my shirt. And my wife Jill met me at the door. He goes, I was a fight of my life. And the guys and we're kind of sitting there. And I'm looking and she goes, and I puke on my shirt. And she said, you puke all over yourself. And he said, no, Chaser did that. He gave me 20 bucks for the dry cleaning. And she reached in this pocket. There was 40 bucks in there. And she said, there's $40 in here. She said, well, you shit my pants too. That's the, that's the craziest part. Only in our, our hollowing, right? Because we don't know what's coming out of Basil's mouth. And then when we started reliving the Garc Wich are stuff, you know, when he was our captain with some of this buffoonery, you know, and giving it to Grimmer. And oh my God, I just, I sit back and, and, and laugh because I, I witnessed it, you know? You're at the first time would be, but it doesn't get old, guys. You guys, you guys have had a lot of your, your guests on that you played with and it never gets old, never gets old. Because we don't miss the game to the playoffs. We miss the locker, we miss the guys. That's all we miss. And so for those of you guys listening, they got millions listening. This bullshit about missing the game. That's how it happened to the playoffs. And what you miss is being in that locker room with those guys because those stories, and there's not as many of them anymore because unfortunately the telephone, the, the video and everything is ruined. It's for a lot of them, but I'll tell you what, there's some great stories. Okay. The, I mean, just the, Holly and I actually, my first training camp, Holly was there. So I kind of got to be around him a little bit. It was just so cool to be around. He came in, he broke the bike. So no one had to do the bike test. It was one of the best things I've ever seen. But, but just like the way that he beats to his own drum, he, he was telling the story with Butch about your coach, Sutter, he was like, if he doesn't start coaching differently, I'm not playing him. Butch had to beat him up at lunch like just, but he was like that. He just, he was like that. Wistley Oyster in Toronto. But that's just how he was. He just beat to his own drama. Well, listen, boys, a training camp one year, he came in and he, you know, he knows what he's supposed to do, but he's not doing it. He's not going to do it, right? So they're going to do the vertical jump and he, and he says to the kid, there are just kids just some physiotherapist that's in training. And he says, you got to put your hands in the air and, and, and, and, and see how high you can reach. And Holly goes, what? And, you know, that I'm not doing that. And the kid goes, well, they just want it. And then see how high you can put your hands because they want to see, you know, and then he's got to jump and, and Holly goes, I'll tell you how high I can reach that F and high 86 times last year. Now, I'm not doing that. And he just walks away from this kid and his kid doesn't know where to shitter wine his watch because you don't tell Brad Hall who just scored 86 goals that he's got, that he's got to jump in the air. So Holly just walked away and never did the test. One, walked, keenan over to the, to the fitness award that was the plaque on the wall. He said, hey, Mike, come here for a second. He and comes over, walks over, goes, what? Who the hell are any of these guys? Was it one guy that played more than 10 games in the NHL and the fitness award thing for the blues? And, you know, he just, he couldn't help himself. And he, and he didn't just like, it wasn't like he brought one of the assistant captains over. He brought the head coach in GM, I'm going to tell him, hey, look at how stupid this is. Anyway. I love the guy, man. I roomed with him for seven and a half of the nine. He played together. Oh my God. Boys, I'll tell you, if I could tell you all of them, man, I'll tell you. I would have been exhausted for games, Chase. There you guys must have been laughing, especially the day before, like, what time would you guys be getting a bet at night before? Well, here's the, here's the funny thing. We didn't miss a lot of curfews. Okay. Like we, we really didn't, but when we went out, we went, we went out. Okay. And, uh, started early. I used to say to him all the time, I didn't room with you in room with your suitcase. You were never in the room. And so like he, he would just like, you know, oh, yeah, good one. But I'll tell you what he did. We got off the bus and he turned around and he'd say to all its secrets, all the autograph people. I'll, I'll sign tonight, uh, signing in the morning, but I'm not doing both. And of course, they all wanted to sign at night or whatever. So I go to the room and I would put a block on the phone, uh, do not disturb on the phone. Ken McCartan's up turned, turned down to 62 degrees, changing to a pair of jeans and get ready for when he came up in the room. He would just throw his bag, go, all right, let's go. And we would go out and we would go out for dinner, speak dinner, whatever, right? And once in a while, we, you know, we, we went out. Well, I, I told this story about Montreal because Montreal, Holly went out for lunch at, at a famous, uh, ballet. And, and so he's in the shape for our lunch and now dinner and now I've gone and went shopping and then I've, I've decided I'm going to go back to the room and I'm back to the room. It's like 10 30 dog Wilson calls me. He goes, chase her. You got to go get your boy. Um, like, where is he? He says he's not, he's not, you know, we stay at the left in the next door. I go still, he goes, yeah, I go, Jesus. So I get dressed and I go and I walk in. Hey, what's up? You know, and he's good time Charlie. So I said, Hey, bud, come on. Let's go. He goes, what? It's don't worry. We're all right. We're all right. And in the paper in the morning, it was a French paper had, uh, just, the show down and it had a split shot of him and patty. Wow. And then in the English version of it, it said the shoot up, all right. And, uh, I said, come on, bud. Let's go. He goes, don't worry. I'm fine. And finally I said, Hey, it's on pulling them by the ear. It's now about maybe midnight. I get them out of there. I said, come on. We're, we're staying here tomorrow. I feel you need to come back and come back or whatever. But he, but he had found a whole bunch of new friends in there by then. So I, I get him peel him out of there. He won't talk to me. Doesn't talk to me on the way back. Doesn't talk to me in the morning. Doesn't talk to me in a pregame. Those are has his nap post the game. Fire's three in the first period in. Okay. And then he's standing by the door. Now, Holly had no rituals. And I can, I'm telling you zero when he went on the ice, who he followed. Not nothing. Nothing did he, that he'd bother with the rituals, right? But he's standing by the door and I'm the last guy off the ice. You know, the twister and I, and I'm thinking, oh, this ought to be good. So he comes over. I get over to the door and he goes, I told you we didn't have to go last night. This French guy can't stop me. I'm like, not like not a hub. Oh, hey, thanks for dragging me under the air midnight. So I told you and that he, I would have had five. He could have stayed. Yeah. He could have waited to score three and then wait there at the door at the end of the period to tell you that. Holly, he was a beautiful man. I love him. And you know, my son Will was doing a lot of the editing and all of the editing. And we've had a few, he saves already in the, in the pod. Tastery said stuff and we're like, hey, you can't say that. I thought it was a podcast. I know, but you still can't say that. We had a gentleman on. We took about seven minutes of an hour long interview out. He was very old school. We had to save his bacon. But there was one story that you guys kept and I just saw the clip. I forget how it went down, but it had to do with like a street fight outside of a park light or something. What was this one? Oh, no, that was in Peoria with Twister. Okay. What happened there? We were heading to practice and we had to practice at the practice facility. Dress at the car, Verena and the sky got. Pardon me, boys. Road. Pull up to a gas station light. And this guy jumps up. He's he's hammering on the, on the horn hammer on the horn. And there's three car loads of it. And Twister just gets out of the car and pounds a shit out of the guy. And the guys feet were still up in the car. Like, you're still still in the car. But boys, we all had our hockey equipment on. I mean, I mean, the whole, the whole works of us. So like, who are we hiding, right? And you know, I mean, so you can imagine by the time practice is over Bobby Plakers, I, well, I held you guys do last night. And I don't want to know. Don't tell me then I got to tell the blues and he went off the ice. And then of course they wanted to know who the hell beat the hell out of the guy at the light and what happened. And then we, you know, they nothing came of it. But not very smart man. 16 guys jumped out of cars. I'm one guy out. Play it up the corner. And we all got our hockey equipment on everything but the state. With Is there any team scarier though? Then you're softball team that you had? I don't believe so. I don't. I don't. Yeah. If you want to, if you Google a pretty interesting thing, it's, it says, I think it's called. What's a is it the toughest team there ever was? Is that what it's called or something like that? I think it was a fast pitch softball team. And it's competitive in Canada. The fast pitch, you know, I know it's a, it's more of a, a women's sport. I'm going to get in trouble for probably saying that. But it is down here, much more competitive up there. That's the big thing. Okay. And we had Melrose playing first base. We had Yani second or killer, Kaminsky had second. We had Wendell at shortstop Joey kosher third base. Donnie Clark, Wendell's older brother, catching and then me Terry Clark, Corey kosher, Neil Clark, all, we were all fielders. And then and and so so it was just a hockey team and we had two farmers. There it is. There it is boys. Two old go a farmer. A flasky. Oh, Mike blosky. He was my cousin. He drafted by the flyers and they are signed by the flyers and played in their mind. I really do. I'm telling you boys, it was hilarious. And you know, guys with round the bases and catch a piece of a guy. Well, just to see what was going on. And one time I remember Donnie Clark got run over at home plate. We were playing this team tisdale and it's funny because Jake neighbor's dad walked up to me the other day at a game and he said, Hey, I got to tell you start and I go, what he go, I go, I'm in tells me you know, he takes dad and I said, nice to meet you, sir. He goes, you he goes, you don't know this but he goes, I played in the game when we had the brawl in tisdale in fastball. Well, he goes, what was much of a brawl, but and Joey kosher was playing short that day. Wendell was at third and Don got run over and the fastest guy to home plate was Barry Melrose of all guys. He smokes this guy and then we have this big melee. Well, I'm trotting in from the field and Neil Clarks, that center field and he's standing there with his arms caught. He goes, what are you doing? I go, come on. He goes, what are we going in there for? I go, I don't know. Hey, what the hell are we going to do? We got Joey Wendell Keller killer, Kaminsky Melrose and Don Clark. And there was no sense me going into the middle of the home plate area because I was nothing that I was going to accomplish as a 22 year old. Those guys hadn't cleaned up already. They got you handled. Did you grow up with Wendell like live here? Yeah. Yeah. Was he always a phenom coming up like a way known as this tough sucker? Yeah. Yeah. And you know what's crazy? I don't, I, well, I know of one street fight that Wendell was in. Joey, one a weekend killer, one a weekend. You know, I had my, Wendell never, and as a matter of fact, we had a, we got into it with a bunch of bikers in, in a bar called Karuki Bar. And, and his younger brother, Sharky was just tough like just tough. This like Wendell, but six foot two. And he grabbed this bike and swung him around and broke the guy's leg because the foosball table was bolted to the floor. And he leg whipped the ball and snapped his leg. Now, boy, is 90 degrees. Oh, Jesus. And, and when the old is standing there, when it goes carry, carry. And he, and he grabs Sharky by, we call him Sharky grabs a shark, who lifts them up. He goes, that's enough. This guy pulled his coat over his leather over his head. And he looked like a different person like he looked like somebody. I don't know what the hell happened. When he, when he broke his leg and went down and carry started punching him, he looked one way and when he got up, he looked like a different human being. He was a mess. And Wendell, Wendell had a whole other guy. And Joey and Don are just walking in. And Joey fires a shuffleboard rocket. This group. Now, if that hits somebody, that's it. Dead, dead. And, and gone, runs at the guy that Wendell's got a whole lot of things. Wendell can't be fighting. He's the first overall pick. So he suckers this guy who's got a broken leg and already just figured and just smack down. He goes. And at the time, and, and you, and you can check with these guys because they're all the guys over there. But Lane Lambert, heaven, Kaminsky Lane was working at the hockey school with a guy by the name of Coral, not Rob Coral, but he played that Rondack. Anyway, those two guys had walked in. Brad Lauer was there. They'll tell you it was a complete, it was Roadhouse boys. Yeah. And, and like, who are those guys? Local softball team. Well, yeah. And what? And it was hilarious. We had a great time. We, we, we just all stuck together and we're very fortunate to group the grow up. We all grew up there. You know, so for us, we imagine, MacDavid, I'm going to play fastball this summer. What? Oh, you're not. Wendell, no problem. You know, and, and the people that would come to watch us because of Wendell was unbelievable. Like, you know, he was, while every farmer in Saskatchewan wanted, you know, they loved him, right? And he was such a humble guy and he's such a good human being. Oh, he's the best. The best is it. Would you say he's the most famous person from Saskatchewan? Gordy, how? Okay. That's, yeah, that's to be tattooed. Bauer, he was from this. Yeah. It's a good number two though. Ain't Gordy and then Wendell, like Wendell right now and then, uh, that army. Did you get a chance to be? Gordy, nope. We boys, did I get you? Are you setting me up here? I'm setting you up right on the tea, buddy. Okay. Softball. Gordy, how? I'm in, uh, part for going to camp. I get to Toronto airport. I see Gordy, how I can't believe I'm looking at Gordy, how fun. And then I get enough mustard in me and I walk over and I say, Mr. How, my name is Kelly Chaggs. And, um, I just want to thank you. I played baseball at Gordy, how park. I played football in Gordy, how bowl. And I played hockey in Gordy, how arena. And thanks for everything you've done for us kids in Saskatchewan. Sit down, lad. Sit down, talking where you going. I said, I'm going to Hartford with you and I'm going to camp. He goes, no, that's great. He goes, what ring, you know, what round you get? Drifting, I said, I didn't get drafted. Uh, I'm a free agent and they just must have needed some guys and, uh, they asked me if I would, if I would sign a camp trial. And so, and I was 18. So, you know, but he goes, well, that's great. So we're talking for a bit and they cancel our flight and they said, Mr. Howell, but before they cancel the flight, they tell him first, say, we have you set up in the hotel in them, in the Marriott in the, that's possible. And, and what you know, just like to spend a couple of nights in Toronto Airport, right? Pearson. Peace. So, so we, he goes, come on. And she goes, are you guys together? And he goes, yeah, we're rooming together. Boys, I'm rooming with Gordy. Okay. Yeah. God's on us, truth. And when Mark tells us, very Mark, howell now tells us the story. He, he stretches it a bit, but anyways, I get up to the room. He goes, throw your, throw your bags and let's go have a, have a steak and a beer. I mean, legal enough to drink beer yet, but I'm, I'm like, yeah, like, I can't get downstairs with him and I'm sitting there and we're talking and he says, you got to make sure they know who you are, son. He goes, because they didn't draft you. Okay. So none of those scouts are going to sit in a meeting and say, let's, you know, go to bat for this kid. So he said, you got to make sure they know exactly who you are. So he said, if you, you score, you celebrate like it's a goal. He said, if you hit, make it a big hit and, and, and make it matter. Make sure everyone knows you hit him. If you fight, he goes, you fight so that they know who you are. So okay. So I go out and Billy Roo, who the only thing I know about Billy Roo, is I watch him with the leaves on TV on Hockey Night in Canada and I got his hockey card, but he throws a bad pass through a guy and I smoked the guy. The guy, the kid gets up. He's, he played in college. He's 24. He didn't know how to fight, but he came after me and he got third. Actually, he didn't do bad compared to Billy. Billy came after me and Billy got third. And then I felt awful, but I was like, you know, like, he's, he's a veteran player, but see, you know, he came after me, but he felt bad for the passing. So anyway, it's the next day my roommate is Paul Wallace. Paul goes in the morning, hate kid. You keep your head up out there today. Okay. And I'm like, yeah, yeah, yeah. So I, I go out on the ice and off the face off. The fence man jumps me and smashes me in the face, knocks me down. How like I don't even have my gloves on. I don't even get my gloves off. And I'm pissed off. And I'm, and I'm like, I'm, I'm getting this guy, right? So I said, I'm, I'm, I'm yelling at him off the bench, yelling at him off the bench. Tech sevens is the coach head coach, but he's on my, he's coaching our team that day. Text goes, hey, kids, sit down. He's trying to save my life. He doesn't realize, I don't realize because I'm this dumb rookie that all these veteran players are pissed off at me, right? They're, they're, they're pissed off and they want a piece of me, but I don't know this. I'm just a dumb kid off the farm. So he won't put me out there. He won't put me out there. He won't put me out there. I'm telling you guys, I went out the third shift of the game and I didn't get out. We played two halves. I didn't get another shift. And you thought he was just mad at you, maybe? No. Zamboni's come out on the ice. This guy's leaning down on the net, talking to Stevie weeks. I make the curve behind the Zamboni and I give him a stick right over the head. I give him what's left of the stick in the stomach and I jump on him and I start smoking. Okay. And I'm pissed off in that point. Everyone's on top of me. Anybody that was not off the ice for the intermission thing is on top of me. Well, in the second half, I got a fight, Sean Cronin, Paul McDermott, like it was like, this kid, Kirsch brand, I was just like, oh my god. And the only reason I didn't have to fight, it was a tough guy's name there. What you might know because it was back with Tori Robertson. So you just three fights back to back to back to back to back to like not, not no radiator style. No, Texas, I'm saying, no, you're stale. In other words, you dumb little prick. You and, and you know, Cronin's massive, this Chris Brant was tough. The only reason Tori Robertson didn't kick the shit out of me. He was on the bench and he would skate around once in a while, but he had broke his leg and he had a rod in his leg still. And he was yelling at me. I'm like, oh my god. And I'm thinking, and I go off the airs to shower and I'm thinking in my head, okay, I got two more days and they're going to make cuts. And you know, I'll go back to Saskatoon. I'm going to be, I'm going to have to fight like 20 fights in the shower. Whatever. Right. And no one on my own team will talk to me. I mean, I can tell I've, I got, you know, so I'm not feeling great about myself at this point. Boys, we're at Avon Old Farms. We, we, we walk out of the arena to the bus about five minutes before the bus is going to take off. And this big old arm comes around me and it's Gordy Howdy says, Hey, kid, they fucking know who you are now. Bucket, A.J. That is fucking unbelievable. If I ever hear the saying, don't meet your idols, you get disappointed. I'll remember that story. Yeah. 100% and you know what? He stood in front of you. I'll tell you what a gentleman he is. He stood in front of that bus till at least five minutes after I supposed to leave. And no one's going to say to Gordy. No one's saying to Gordy, get him on the bus. So I get on the bus and everyone's looking at me like, Oh, shit, he knows Gordy, right? I get to my hotel room. My message likes on it. It's Marty. How he goes, Hey, kid, how are you doing? It's Marty. Give me a call. So I call Marty. I'm like, Oh, hey, Hey, Marty. Kelly Chase. He goes, birdie at a tough morning. I said, Well, yeah, I probably did it to myself. You know, I said, he said, listen, we're going to check some lobster traps on the boat. And I want you to come on the boat. Dad said to grab you to take you out. I said, I think I better just stay here and I stay a little bit. I think, but I appreciate you asking me and he's like, No, we're coming to get you. And by we, I don't know who that is. I get on the boat. It's Cuenville, Francis. Shane Sherlock, Marty. Kevin Denien who had got hurt at the canter cup and there's another guy there that was already you. Anyways, I'm on the boat with the veterans. I never fought one more time at training camp. We went into Boston. I fought twice in Boston in an exhibition game. I was there for another five days. They sent me home. Well, he offered me a contract. I said, Mr. Francis, with all due respect, I don't think I'm ready for this. I think I need another year of junior. And I went back to junior and they offered me a contract at the end of the year. I signed with the blues, Bobby Plegger and Patty Jenoga, Booster and I decided, I'll tell you what, Gordy, how changed. He changed my, he changed my life, but I was an ordinary little bastard to start with. But if he, I'm sitting there thinking, I'm going to embarrass him for what happened. I'm not going to let that happen. So I was pretty lucky to fall into. Holy shit. That's incredible. That is one of the, that's might be the top story I've ever heard on the. Hey, Chaser, that's that's probably, that's Gordy going in and being like, all right, guys, he's, he's had enough like this kid, right? He's calling off dogs. Well, I deal to you. He went in that scouts room and, and made some racket because I could probably, hey, boys, I might have given this guy the wrong advice. I told this guy to do this. Boys, I'm going to, I'm going to eat this one. Well, the funny thing about it is is that, you know, like, I, I, I, you know, I, I was going to go there and just play the way I played anyway, but I sure as hell wouldn't have gone out and, well, who knows? I don't think I would have cracked anybody with my stiff one as amonies right there, but I, but I was just, I was embarrassed, first of all, and then I, I have this in the back of my head of this, this guy saying, you know what? You get, you're getting one, don't mess up the chance. And that's kind of why I think I reacted the way I did. Now, that must be because everyone you talk to and you mentioned your name, they just say, how good of a teammate. You were always there for your guys, you know, obviously it being the fighter. You, those, you guys are the, you guys are our protectors, right? You take care of your teammates on and off the ice, but is, you think that, that kind of stemmed from that too, just a guy of Gordy, how of like that, or it's just kind of how you were. Well, you know what? But it's with it. Ask me that right. Boys, I can't see. Yes. Is the end. Oh, yes. Well, here's, here's the thing. I'm, I'm, I'm struggling a bit right now with the sight and the hearing and, and the hardest thing for me is not to run at the fight right now. You know, got a caregiver, got up, you know, just struggling with some stuff. But I've always wanted, I never, I always wanted to be, like, you know, who's car we taking? I want to be that guy. Yeah. I want to be the 3 a.m. guy. And the, and the craziest thing about it is, when I grew up with those guys that I grew up with, I thought everyone was like that. Because that group was, right? Right? Call Wendell right now and he's coming, called Joey right now. He's coming. Killer. Well, enough said, you know, like, so I don't really know if it's the way our dads brought us up. And they were all friends. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. But I, I really miss, like, I want to help people. And, and I think that part of it was ingrained in me from, would be in young. But I think when Gordy, you know, he made a great point about, don't miss your opportunity. Don't miss your chance. Yeah. Take your swing. You never have, Jason. You never have, buddy. I've been very lucky because I've had great teammates. I've had played on some really good teams. Unfortunately, we never won the Cup here until 19. And I was, you know, broadcasting it. Not the same. But to see the community and what happened in the community and and the way people reacted was awesome. It was so great. And so that's the blessing of it all. Like I've had a lot of good shit happen to me. And, um, you know, I feel, I just feel blessed because so every time I have those moments where I'm feeling a little sorry for myself, I straighten my shit out and say, listen, somebody's got it worse, quit buying them and kick yourself up. I was six days without hearing and completely blind. And I probably tried for four, but when I, when it, when I had a little bit of light and then I had a little bit of hearing come back, I was like, what do you do? Or like, what do you do? I was shit. You've done in your life and all the people you've got to meet and be with and the things you've done. Who do you buy in the boat? And, you know, so if you have those moments, you got to have one you're on your own. But I can tell you it's, uh, it's a game changer when you, uh, when you start looking around out. Let's look at all the shit we have you guys, right? Like, and people are like, but, you know, you've helped. So I'm like, I just put on a jersey, you got an obligation to help. That's, that's the key. You know, I mean, you guys do a lot of good stuff for a lot of people. And are you having fun? Of course you are. But are you blessed out of money? Of course you are. Well, you don't take it for granted. But I've, I've rarely called into any one of you or, or, and, and, well, I don't think I've ever, and you don't say, yeah, let me see what I can help with. And that's, I mean, that's a hockey thing. I think to start with, but it's more of the character of the, of the guys we have, you know, that's pretty cool. Well, it's important though that you guys laid the foundation. And, and I'm sure you know the guys who laid the foundation before you did, Chaser. And I just want, I just hope that you know that like of how appreciative, like all the current guys and younger guys are than you, of what you've done. Or to set that foundation and what you continue to do, especially with, with the fact that you're fighting the way you're fighting as well. So we love you, dude. And you guys are the fucking best. Everything you've done for the alumni, all the former players with the blues. It's just, it's, it's so noticeable, dude. And you're, and you're the fucking man and we love you, brother. It's true. I would be like, when they say leave the jersey in a better place, like you're a true example of that of what you, what you mean to the NHL and, you know, give them back and be in there for people. So I want to say thank you. And Chaser, I got your jersey back there from the winter classic. Cause another guy in a prime example is the guy at the top. It's a great one-way in Gratsky. He had tie and Trevor bring in a jersey for everyone. They're actually, I love being an extra one. So I'm wearing, I actually wearing one and I got one right there in the corner of my office. But nice. Yeah, but you guys and, and what you've done for the alumni, about the players, you know, before and even after you, has just been remarkable, buddy. And we love you and you're the prime example of it all. Well, I appreciate it. And I, I'd like to, there's a lot of guys that stepped up when we needed to help with that alumni. And, you know, Wayne McKean and Paul Cavillini. And, and of course, then we hired heels and, and, and it's changed considerably. And it's only going to get better. But there's no reason for us not looking out for one another with, with all the blessings we have. So thanks guys for that. I wanted to show you something cool. I don't know how to do this. So I'm going to try. But I wanted to show you something. So I don't know how you're going to top that gordy story, dude. That might be like, that's going to go crazy. But I brought, I bought a ticket smashed over the guy's head. I, yeah. I don't want to say who it is either because I, bone down and pissed off that I, I want to podcast studio. That's the studio, go to the studio, okay. Wait, what, which, which one? Which one is the champ? Okay. Now we're going to go inside and I want to show you guys something here. This is the, we have a watch party after a minute. Okay, boys. Give you a little idea for chick-los. But we got this little area. Oh, wow. Right. The bar over here, which we haven't finished. No surprise. Yeah, no surprise. Brakins. Well, weird. And then, boys, this little gem right here, I bought this car and I'm going to raffle it off. Oh, okay. Okay. I'm on a pizza. That's pretty tight. Boys, I got a bottle of Lamborghini and I'm, and I put 128 former players on the car. I put the championship team, the Hall of Famers for the Blues. And then I put like, and every picture is like a fight, a hit, guys with his balls off, Wednesday with his one Johnny play here, Jack Muth Punch and a guy in the face, Proler is slashing somebody as usual. Bobby Plyger. There's Jack Spiten. I got all, I got 128 stories on this car. We're going to auction off these raffle tickets for a hundred bucks a ticket. And then in June, we're going to draw for the car and someone wins the Lamborghini. I'm not a Lamborghini, boys. I'm not a Lamborghini guy. Guy like me, give me a Chevy truck and I'm okay. That was a big wall behind the bar back there. And it was kind of. Is that the food truck in the front? Haha. Jason, you're, you're, you're a legend, buddy. Uh, to, to, to, you know, to say I played in a league that, that you played in, guys like you, that's what keep us saying about leaving it in such an incredible spot. We love you. We're all praying for you. You keep fighting like we know you are. Thanks for coming on, buddy. And everyone check out Ice Guardians. It's gold just as you just heard for 30, 40 minutes with Jason. Thank you. Hey guys, thanks again for having me. I appreciate it. My son didn't want to be showing any of the watch party in the car. Nothing, but he's shaking his head at me like, shut off that right now. But, but I thought that was awesome. I know. I was in the car. Well, well, it's funny because when, when I asked the guy, I said, what do you think? He's like, so it's the name of the ice party. So the guys on there are the guys that, you just talked about integrity of the guys that, how they leave the game. Those are the guys. The Barrett Jackmans, BJ Chrome being Alex Dean, Johnny Wentz, Twister, just guys that walk, you know, treat the trainers the right way, treat the staff the right way. And then of course, you know, the mentorship to the younger guys. So I'm excited that we can do this and see proceeds are going to go to the sightman cancer. And I just wanted to make sure that the guys were recognized that they'll get a lot of recognition. Amazing. We're a little fucking lucky. So, buddy, thank you. All right. We love you guys. We love you, Chaser. Wow. That's, I mean, that's a special interview right there, boys. That's really hard to hear. That good of a person going through that. Yeah. Everyone, um, you know, Keith and I really are a very close friend at home right now. Kenny, his wife's fight and the same thing. And just the perspective and hearing how hard he's fighting and how he's looking at the the positive side of things, same with Kenny's wife. It's just that's tough shit. Very tough shit. So praying for everyone that anyone knows out there fighting that battle. And my nephew, my nephew, Owen too, he just had his last treatment. Shout out Owen, just had his last treatment. Luke, Luke came over tonight. We're going to skate tonight. Get some pizza. Yeah. Oh, dog. Final. He rang that fucking bell. Key. No way. Yeah. Fucking A man. That's awesome. So it's the, uh, yeah, it's the real life shit that tough. Makes makes us appreciate what we're doing. Just talking hockey and and figuring, you know, and realizing what people are fighting through. And in good news in the league showtime, baby, last night, 500 goals. The fifth American player to ever get 500 goals. I think he six points away from passing Mike Madonna to be the all time leading score as an American born player in the NHL. A true legend of the game. An unreal speech in the locker room. Anyone, I don't think we can play it. But uh, go to Detroit's go to Detroit's Twitter. And you're going to see just a guy that he appreciates everything. He talks about, you know, all the years in the Blackhawk, but how proud he is to be a Detroit Red Wing. He, I think right away, of course, hockey player style says, took me too long. I should have done this quicker, but it was cool. He said I was never on the ice. I'm usually never on the ice for the when the goal is pulled and they threw him out there. The crowd went nuts right when he got on the ice. He buries the empty net. A whole team comes on the ice. Yeah, and just just watching the interview or his speech in the locker room. And then after his interview with his son, I think he said his son wants to get 600 and played till he's 75. And it's so cool. Like he came into this league, this superstar 18 year old. And he had no kids and he's probably a little wild off the ice. And like how he's grown up, how different of a person he is. I'm sure he'd say it. I know I am. You go 15, 20 years, you're just, you can't even really remember the type of person you were before and he's still doing it. So I don't know if you guys have anything to say besides that's probably the greatest American born. Greatest American. No, no, yeah, you can't argue that. Can I, I mean, obviously great company too with him and, uh, yeah, what a great photo. That's awesome. He said that too. He's like, I want to get a picture right now with everyone. So I'm sure they would have done it anyways. But like you look, you look at the guys with the 500 American JR big wall and Madonna and him. And I mean, those are those are the mount rush more for American born players, especially forwards and so cool. Like you, I mean, like you said, even like we all got to play against them, got to see him in his prime when he was show time, show time. Like he was so fucking good. It was insane. Like making other guys better while he was doing stuff on his own. Like he just, he had it all right. And when he came in the league, I remember guys would be like, I he's too small. He's not going to be able to do what he did in junior and stuff like that. And he just, you know, yeah, that mentality where nothing was going to stop him. Didn't matter like when you guys were all over him, beat them up, trying to, you know, get under his skin. He just handled his business scored goals, one cops and, you know, been been an unbelievable player for the last 20 years. It seems like. Yeah, he wasn't like when he went first. I wouldn't say everyone's like, oh, this is the next one. Generational. There's a lot of question marks. And then him and Dave's. Yeah, it's what I run. And then Detroit, he said it to. He's like, we got bigger things in here. They haven't been on the playoffs in a while. They're in a great spot right now. They got a great core fun team to watch. And he turned that Chicago like Chicago with, right? Like they were down in the dumps, like not getting anyone at their games. And look at what that building's like now. Like he turned that franchise around. I could see I'm not that Detroit franchises down. But like getting them back to the playoffs. He's a guy that can do that. Uh, biz. There's, there's another guest. Speak it of all time guys and great American forwards. Let's bring them in. Bring them in right now. Bugs. Oh, yeah. Couple clicks for bugs. It's been a while. But you know what? They know why. You look better than ever. The Holy shit bugs. I love. I love you guys. Hello. Top corn ceilings. Bugs. I'm not sure I'm at a rental. Yeah. I've been Minnesota. 2026. Just want to say congratulations to you guys. You guys are moving on to Netflix now bigger and better things. But all the love and growth you have is you guys just being yourselves being authentic. And you know, chase you really sums up. I think that unique brotherhood that we all share. And it's actually I think you'd be really looking at the numbers. I think there's like five thousand of us alive. NHL alumni. So it is a small unique group. You know, different mentality. But it is a big family and now to be able to, you know, chase or inspire. I think our generation to do more and pull guys together really support each other. You know, led by Glenn. Everyone's been, you know, a family and you guys we've all been there from the beginning. What coming into the league? So it's great to see how we continue to grow that, you know, hockey spirit. Wow. Well said, Bugsie. He keeps from the heart, right? From the heart. From the heart. Bugsie, I don't think we've told you yet though, but part of that Netflix deal is me and you getting in the octagon together. Yeah. That's how it kind of derived. They saw our fight in the sandbagger. Yeah. And said, we want some more of that. Remember, I remember texting you in the Jake Paul's. This was like a few years ago. They were talking about doing stuff. I'm like, we should stop and then you're like, then you Google them like, oh, shit. He was actually like a professional already. He's called Rethaliner. Or like, oh, shit, maybe we shouldn't. Yeah. Yeah. Two V2, me and Bugsie versus the Paul's. How's that going? Have you been doing all the Jiu-Jitsu stuff still? Like what's the going on? I'm not getting injured. So no, kind of. No, shabucker. Yeah. Kind of laid off the strong physical contact for now, but yes, stay in active. Kind of, you know, hitting the box in a little bit. Do stuff, stay in active. Hey, Bugsie. Bugsie, you've done a ton for alumni as well. You continue to do your on some Tampa broadcast intermissions and you're doing a ton with soldiers, right? Like, we got warriors, former soldiers. They're playing a lot of hockey with these guys. So how's everything going with that? Great. Yeah, it's been great talking hockey. So with the penguins and lightning kind of do the game analyst stuff. So it's been a lot of fun, especially, you know, just being able to talk hockey and be there when Sid's breaking all these amazing milestones. And then in Tampa, we got a great group of alumni guys there working together, you know, with Maroon and Hall and Coburn. So it's a lot of fun. We're almost, we're borderline. I'm not sure if we could like cross the line, you know, on TV. I'm like, I'm just kind of treated like a podcast. So we got a few warnings, me and Maroon. It's okay. It's okay. It's been a lot of fun. So I wear those are the badger honor, the war. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. I saw business do it. Oh, yeah. So you're going to floss your cornhole with the towel on the next broadcast. Oh, you got to, you got to put it in the sun, right? Yeah. What, you're fucking cordole. Yeah. Yeah, but your balls and the sun, yeah, you're testosterone Is this you should know that by now? Come on. You're doing that. He'll be doing that. He'll be on his front lawn doing it. This is what you're doing on the lawn chair. You're just getting around. You do happy baby. Yeah, get the happy baby you're up there. Get it going. Bugs, you brought up Sid. Can you believe this? Can you believe this is still happening? That's where it's, I mean, I kind of yes, because it's like from an early age and we mentioned kind of like the veterans and first responders through our foundation. We work with, we talk about your mental health and one example I use, I remember training and valed with them. They're talking about gut health and all this stuff. They're spreading up to now. And I'm like, I got the beers in the back pack. You know, coming up at the end, I'm like, I'll just take my time, crack the beers. But now in the last few years, really understanding the science of your, the chemical makeup of our bodies, how your gut actually produces like 90% of your happy chemicals. So it's just kind of like relating some of these stories to then you have optimal performance based on, you know, the food. So you think of your stomach and then your vagus nerve, kind of like your wi-fi to your brain. So if you're eating all processed food and you're always stressed out and some of these men, women working double jobs and they're, you know, putting themselves on the line that's kind of like just awareness of, hey, maybe we can, you know, change our diets a little bit or add these little little things. But Sid, you know, he's been doing that since he's frigging 1815, really having that understanding of his, you know, the body for him to have this optimal performance. So it's, yeah, no surprise. But it's amazing to sit there and watch him just continue to perform a such an elite level. And then again, I think if you look at all those top guys, they just bring everyone along. They care about everybody, you know, the gender at the ring to everyone, treat everyone with respect. And this is beautiful and awesome to see him, you know, continue to move on. All three of those guys, you know, it's been crazy to imagine they've been playing together for so long as something special you won't see probably ever again. Bugsie, um, Paisy FaceTime he recently would sit and Sid said, do you still have, he said, Sid has a question for you. Thought what's up buddy? Still have restless legs syndrome? Like that's what he was thinking. I'm like, yeah, I do. My foot's always shaking. He's like, that's so weird. And then Tang are we set the table to there. I'm pre-game meal. And Tang was like, man, wait, you were so mean to me to be here. I said, Bugsie was mean to me. Bugsie, you're in my roommate in Riyant. I think he's like, we're trying to go to sleep and you just the rest of the sheath. I'm like, bud, like just go in the bathroom. If you got to like do what you got to do, like I'm barking right here, you know, you got his twisted one off. There's like, oh, man, what's going on over there? I'm like, yeah, I'm like, that's your foot. You better get that checked out. We would, we would just in LA and we would, you know, hot stover in Wittsroom and he jumped in his bed and he had the foot going, the Roger Rabbit foot. And I'm like, dude, I thought it was maybe just when you played like the nervousness, like you're still doing it at 43 years old. You got it made in the shade. You got your own vodka and you're still doing this. I don't control that foot. I don't know what you want me to tell you, Bugsie. That and magnesium maybe or something. Maybe you're missing. I don't know. You're talking about like Bugsie. You're talking gut health. I need to probably get into the guts, getting a little ridiculous, right? The skinny fat look. So you're, are you still like no sugar, never desert, always healthy? I wouldn't say as just balanced right at the end of the day. If you're here and there, I think, you know, at the end of the day, it's as hard to be. You can't be perfect. And that's where we kind of even have a guide. We hand out at the event and it's kind of like the word nose never in there. So it's maybe like less of this, more of this, right? Because I think for a lot of people, it's overwhelming. But you look at what's happening kind of in the world now with the food pyramid getting kind of flipped upside down the other day. And just really looking back at our roots and health and embracing those like the whole food and all the stuff movement. And just back to the way we're kind of supposed to be. So I think that's, you know, good for everyone. I think at the end of the day, it's just people being aware of it. And then making obviously people can make whatever choice they want. Like cigarettes, put the skull and crossbones on there. If you want to smoke smoke, at least you know what you might get. You know, so that's been great for everyone. You're working with the pens and Tampa. Pens are surprising a lot of people at least me. And Tampa, I think like they got, I've said them are Florida are going to come out of the East. Are you, do you believe in the lightning that much? 100% 100% they've been from camp on. They just have this kind of team mentality. I think around their blue paint, they don't let anyone hang out there more than a second or two. And someone's getting that hard cross-sector show from all all defensemen. They've had some injuries this year. So that a lot like great guys step up. And it's that team team toughness. I think unfortunately like with the Florida and Tampa rivalry, which is I think is great for hockey. I was calling that preseason game when there's a 17 game with conducts and 300 pims and the lightning got fine and all this crazy stuff. But you know, Florida is elbowing their guys and run their guys from behind. And eventually you got to like punch back right as the bully. So they have embraced that even this year. Gensal ended up fighting 77. And Mikkila, the defenseman there for Florida. I mean, Gensal gets elbowed right in the back of the head. Gensal's played 633 games. And finally he's like enough and you know through his punches. I'm like, and so everyone's kind of stepping out of their comfort zone a little bit to stick together. And that's where I think that early season, shenanigans kind of brought the boys together. And I think from the brass down and coupe really have that culture of, you know, we're going to be in your face. We're going to work hard and we're stick together. So that's really what we've we've seen that in action. So I think that's where even Kooch is kind of getting in the mix. You know, he's not scared to throw the body around. And that just leads, leads to charge for everyone else. So when everyone else gets called up into these positions, it's kind of next man up mentality as we know. And they all been kind of really thriving in those roles. You know, you look at even radish on the power play, Moser, those guys have been kind of playing the one too without headman and McDonough there and done a great job. And radish is now just a power play, you know, elite defenseman in the league. And he was a healthy scratch to be in the air. So I mean, it shows again that the depth they have there. So I really like their their chances coming out of the east. You better fucking pay them this off season. Well, you only got to, yeah, I mean, that's part of the game. I mean, that's how you, that's how you're league though bugs. You're just, you know, you know, that's not your thing. You better be saying it on the broadcast. You better buck up breeze. Why would pay some, pay some got money? Yo, what happened your Wi-Fi? It was so good at the start of the show. And then now it's kind of a little janky. Oh, it's a little better now. Oh, I should say mayor is a you. Once he said he tans his, his butthole, the internet's like, I'm scratching out on this one. Yeah. Is it kind of like, do you shake it? Do you wax it? What do you do to your bubble? No, it's a little trim job, but nothing, a little trim job. Yeah, nothing, nothing crazy. Yeah. All right, bugs. Tannin and Trima. The internet is a little, it's a little wonky. But we'll chat with you soon. Hey, you have a face for Netflix. So we'll have you on a couple episodes here, right? Can we, can we catch up more? Sure. I would love that. But yeah, I get your answers. I'll answer it since you guys. I love you buddy. From now until then, every time you think of like, or talk about an old story, write it down. And we could do another long 90 minutes sit down for Netflix. It'll be him making fun of me of all the crazy. Yeah, it's bugs. You got up to that st. Cloud. I'm going to go there. I didn't even with the withs welcome in until he could be a good 90. Yeah. No, no, let's let's wait. That one. I mean, how many sheets did you go through? Oh, how many shoes of mine did you ruin? That would be six total shoes three pairs. Dead mouse in one blue spray paint it fluorescent blue another. And the final very expensive pair nailed to my locker. Oh, nice. Nice. Thanks again, bugs. Just making sure they don't go anywhere. Oh, that guy's that laugh. And that's about talk about not aging Jesus. Um, Maclant's Elbrini boys. This is actually becoming ridiculous. I know I mentioned it earlier knocking out the puck out of mid air on his backhand, down a goal against the LA Kings, then dangling somebody at the blue line with just a wide stick head will bring it in front. I think fogal like got a hard stick check on him. Didn't matter. He snipes it five. He'll ties it up. And then with one of the assists of the year and over time, um, just the the false information like the everyone thinks he's shooting these slides and over wide open net. He just continues every night. I look at celebrity three points. McDavid three or four McKinnan three or four. So it's incredible. I mean, look at this. The fact celebrity is sticking in there. I think he's on pace for like 130 points right around there roughly. Maybe even more. McKinnan and McDavid look like this this art Ross race will be legendary. So the league's awesome right now. Um, something else we had a quick hit here. Biz, you, you announced it on our show. Great job. And they made it official. Utah will play Colorado and next year's winter classic. I got I guess I kind of fucked that one up. Why? In a sense of like I, I just was like, oh, I heard it's this. Oh, well, I didn't really know. And then it was. So I kind of ruined the surprise. Yeah, I don't think it's more. It's not about the surprise though. It's more about. I think it's going to be a good spot for one. I'd love to go out. Oh, it's also, it's also too. If whoever told you's got to know that your loose lips busy boy, like nothing, nothing, nothing, go on to the chest. That's right. I blame them for telling me. It's what tell Minty. Well, in another thing too, it's like, Smith just spends a billion on the team. I feel like they should give him a cookie like this. Like that's fucking that was probably talked about. And rightfully so they got McKinnan coming to town. So I mean, that's a that's a hot ticket. They're going to have a lot of people from Colorado probably travel over. So and you look at the stadium and the fact that you can see the mountains in the background. It's almost like they're finally doing the Lake Tahoe experiment, like with fans in the right spot. And not somewhere where it's going to melt down. And Nate's going to be toe picking in the neutral zone. So it's good. Yeah, I'm fired up. What else is on here? I'm sorry, I'm just kind of going through this quick. I have a 240 haircut. Okay, so we got 30 minutes here. We got our way coming on still. Well, then we also have another guest. Jan's a surprise guest for you guys here. So I'll pop him now. For you, busy. Welcome in Scott Lawton. Scotty. La look at that leaf star. What a beautiful man. What's up, Scotty? Not too much. Not too much. Just a little day off. Nice to have a little day off. That's what you learned. After playing your old squad the other night. Yeah, it was a good. Otobody experience for sure. I thought it was crazy. It was wild spending that much time there and being there with you. It's cool going back to the city, but at the same time, it's kind of nice to get that tying goal and kind of stick it to him. No, that's who was at the most nervous. You've ever been for a game? Or is that fair to say? Yeah, I would say so. Honestly, it was just like till the video tribute ended and then kind of got to my game, but had a ton of family there. The flyers are first class. They gave them a sweet head chef Greg in the suite. He was in his flyers jersey. I kept in Philly. He's a complete beauty. And then some people from charities there and everything like that. It was a special night for me. Who's chef Greg? His twin. He's hard to describe. He's like Minty almost. That's exactly right. He's a little googly eyed and he's the team chef in Philly. He's been there since 2011 and he's honestly just the best guy in the world. Like do anything for the boy. Remember, we made him dress up in the lacrosse, Goli gear and we shot balls at him. Like as hard as we could him just hitting him everywhere, hitting him in the nuts. And he's just like, this is fucking great. He loves it. I was in the hot tub one time after practice and he got in full chef suit just sat beside me right in the hot tub. Like no, not even a question ass at right in front of him. Had a five minute hot tub in his full scrub. Who told him to do it? Nothing. He just walks in and he's I'm the last guy there and he hops in the tub. Look at me. It's absolutely. These Laudies kids, Godfather, they're best friends. Yeah, it's always has to bring him further, right? He would be close. He would be close. He's in the will. How did it all begin? I guess he was already there before you got there. Was he already mixed in with the team or did you amplify that when you got there? No, no. They were his guy. Laudie was the guy in Philly. That's why I thought it was so cool because going back, if you were the heart and soul of that team for a long time, you ask anyone in that locker room, Laudie was the guy in there. So that's why I was so happy for you last night or just such a cool moment for you that you deserve. But it's also too. You've been in the league a long time now. I heard rumors. You're still getting your shoes filled with cement and chilling. Get it going. It's going on. No, they're bullying you and Toronto. I wore my nice Jervanches into the ring. Really nice. They were about 10 years old, a little bit of cranberry juice on the laces, stuff like that. But I came back and there was one shoe filled with cement. So I'm like, there's no way. I put cement in my shoes on a game day. So then I'm like, what the hell is going on here? So then finally figured out who it was. Then I had a new pair of shoes in my stall a couple of days later, which was nice. I got a free pair out of it. You had to let them know you knew. Like you almost put the thread out there. Like I know with you. I want new shoes. That's exactly right. Well, that's power. Loans legs to mess with me quite a bit in the ring. So he got me on that one. Then I was walking out in the island. I had my name plate on my helmet. You know, like Scott. I had that one going up to the ring too. So I'm just getting toyed with. It's like did they not know it was your shoes to begin with? Or they did it and then realized how upset you were that it was a game day and then they had to replace them. No, no, I wasn't that upset, but I was on the hunt. I was on the hunt for someone and I wanted them back. Bad. Okay. So when you say that, you always go like, fuck, what are you doing? You put a bomb on their car? Like how intense do you get with the rebuttal? Like what's Greg at their house? I got UK one year with like, I got a sauna for my basement. And I had all those like popcorn things or whatever in the, in the packaging. So I filled this whole car with every, every little popcorn thing. I got a sandheim and Philly. We call them the wacky, wavy, inflatable two men. You know, the plane will apply to cartwheelership. Because he's so long and lanky. But I went on Amazon and I bought one for, for a couple of hundred bucks. And I put his face on it and we had it out right of our rink for like two weeks. And then if I would get down, you say that good. Say it again. Wacky, wavy, inflatable, tube man. Say it, say it five times. Dude, don't bully him. Don't get on the leash. You can't bully him. He's in a bastard. No, because they say it fast on, on family guys. So I want to see if you could do the family guy version. I don't got it in me. I don't think it's today off it. We sit next doing the locker room these days. What's that? Will you sit next doing the locker room? I used to make the trainers meet and sit next to Laudie every year. It was my favorite. I sit beside Matthews and don't see the time. And then we were, I was on slinky island and long island, cowboy, we call him slinky. And me and him were sitting together. What a great kid he is. And it's good. Yanns, you wouldn't believe with some of the shenanigans. The stall etiquette is out of control here. We're all good. You make eye, don't cross your line. I could see Matthews being sloppy with his getch bag. But he's so dialed in that he has like, he's got like, his toiletry bag looks like a hockey bag. Like, that's how much stuff's in there. Like, I got a roll, I got a lacrosse ball in mine, I think. Like, you don't even need it. But yeah, he's got a lot of stuff, but he's so dialed in. So I kind of just shift over a little bit, take half the stall and don't. Yeah, it's exactly right. Well, yes, he's tall. He's the ones you used to put the tape across. So I did it in Florida this year. I did the handle tape right across the thing. Like don't come on my side. Don't cross the line. Oh, wait, yeah, it was he dirty. Everyone, I just didn't like when people crossed the line. Like, I had my side, you have your side. Like, come out, take him on. Don't use our garbage can. When you, Jans was particular about, we just had a chase, Ron. He said, Holly, like, he didn't have any superstitions. Jans is a little pregame situ was kind of out of control. Was it easy? Yeah. Lots? Yes, it was. I don't even know what, like, what was going on? You couldn't, you couldn't do anything beside him without him putting tape. If you had your clear tape over a certain point, it was gone. Oh, you just chuck it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Gone. If people tried to use our trash barrel, no, no, no, I took it out of the trash and put it back in their stall. That's a wide query. Oh, it's a blast though. I was, how's Toronto been treating you? Love it. Obviously from there, obviously grew up a leaf fan. You've been enjoying your time. Yeah, it's been awesome. It took a little bit, I think, last year, especially, I think it's a whirlwind. Like, you get traded and you're in the city the next day, playing for a different team where I was there for so long. So the summer really helped the staff they have here. Like, it's the first class organization from top to bottom, the way they treat you. Flights, meals, hotels, the staff, everything from top to bottom. So it's been, it's been amazing and it's been nice being close to family with a, with a young son and just having to help around has been, has been huge. What is kind of switched because it was, it was ugly for a little bit. Mark's a farthlet go. You know, there were some questions on Barubi, what he was saying after the games, but you guys have flipped things around. Is there anything in particular? Is it just kind of the waves and flows of a season? Yeah, I think we got off to a tough start and it's kind of hard for me to talk about because I was, well, I was watching, but I wasn't a part of it. You know, I broke my foot in preseason, then I came back and got blown up by Zodoro often. So I was out for the first couple or the first month and a half. So we're giving up way too many odd men rushes. We weren't really collectively coming up the ice together. We were spending too much time in our zone. We made a couple tweaks here and there in our D zone and the neutral zone. And I think that's really helped us. And then guys are starting to play together. You get a little bit of confidence that goes a long way. And guys are starting to feel it on their stick a little bit. And I think from there on, it's kind of flowed the last two weeks. We were playing good. We played good in Dallas. We got beat Nashville. And then it really started to turn. So we got to keep going. It's a tight race and every points crucial. But we got to keep this thing going until the break. Pretty, uh, I'll go ahead. Where he was going to ask one more quick. Because you scored on this breakaway slap shot this year. Oh, yeah. And then all the then all these clips started coming. I didn't realize you'd done it for a while now. Many dad suit. Dude, when did you say? Wouldn't dad suit put the goalie in the corner? He's just like, she'll do a survey style on breakaways. But every time it's bar down, like, did you do it in packs? I'm going to pull this thing off at games. I do two at the end of warm up every warm up. And that's pretty much it. You got to save on my thing, especially now. But honestly, my dad, my dad gives me like a little pump-up speech before every game. And he's completely, he's a sicko. So I can't stand around the other team. He's like, you got to go on tonight. I'm like, what's going on here? And then your playing San Jose or Columbus, he said, hey, you got to go Reeves or go Olivia, or like grab someone, grab some of the night. Let's go. And I'm like, via text. Oh, it's guys. Text. Yeah. And then he always tells me to take a snapshot at the end of every text. So I'm just knocking. I had a couple in junior two. And yeah, I don't know. I think it's just sometimes to play, trying to beat him. I saw G do it a lot in Philly and a couple other guys. True. Yeah, it just comes to, I guess. I was just going to follow up by being a Leaf Sky. Pretty cool year for you to be a full-time member of the team. JT hits his 500th. Bowen. There you go. Yeah. And counting. Joe Bowen, celebration on the ice. And then Matthew sets the all-time goal record for Leafs. And then Sundine ends up visiting and being around. So like that, like it must be a world win the last, you know, whatever, four or five months here. Yeah, absolutely. You get any Budweiser cans? You get any assists on those? Nah. I thought I got one on the empty netter last year. I'm off-floor hoping to do a nice little video with one Budweiser hero. They're like, you weren't supposed to. Hey, man. You were supposed to shock on it. Got. Do your own beer. Hey, cut your own deal. That's exactly right. I was hoping. I was just hoping I had one little can in the mail. Yeah. You do, uh, you should do like empty one. I'm boxing of his, of his toiletry kit. I could, but I'd be there forever. But yeah, no, it is a cool year. I think like the way Matthew's just done it in that short amount of time is, it was outrageous. And Johnny getting 500. Like Johnny's one of the best teammates I've had. I didn't know much about him, but he is hilarious. Like he ends. He's exactly like Riemer. Like really? Just who? Like who? Uh, JVR. Like hilarious. Like just like always like a dry joke. Always the right thing to say at the right time. And, and he is dialed in, but it's just he's so fun to be around. And then obviously Joe Boan, I think, uh, uh, listen into him as a kid on the radio. And then he's calling your games and coming in the room. It's, it's just cool to be around. Like you're a kid and you watch all these guys come up and, uh, it's just really cool. Now you mentioned the beginning of the year. You were out a little bit in the press box. And how come you didn't wear a tank top at all? Oh, what's up? My body. My body. My body. One through it. It's not there. It's not there. I could go buy you out. I put the chest hair coming out, but I don't touch them about it. Does it mean you the stuff that these guys wear? Yeah. Awesome. It's awesome. Like I, like, I don't know. Like the no dress code for me, I only have really suits. I don't really have style. So it's like, I'm going to wear like a pair of pants and a jacket. And then these guys are coming in. I actually wanted to be Willie for Halloween, but I couldn't find his fit. So I never went through with it. We were going to try to walk in with the chrome heart jeans on. And the I was trying to go the the gene jacket with the gene, uh, genes and the tank top with like the chain. I had a wig already to go. And I was going to show up. I'm on the phone. I can't get the, uh, the right, uh, fit, I guess for it. So I run as Todd from winning crashers. That's a good one. Yeah, that's real good. The painting was a gift. You, you asked them questions about their outfits and like what shit costs when they come in or you just kind of, you see them and you go, wow, and that's it. I mean, the business was famous for the, hey, how much was that? Hey, how much was that? I like to know you used to ask. Yeah. Okay. If I saw, okay, let's fast forward, right? If I'm playing on the Toronto Maple Leafs and I see Neelander coming in with the bedazzle jinkos on, I'm saying, what are they and what are they cost? I'm in, I'm intrigued to know what they cost. Yeah, I never, I never asked, but some of the, some of the stuff that's got to be up there. Apparently the jeans that, that he's wearing are like 25, 30 K. Neelander. No way. Though I heard that the chrome, hard jeans are very, very expensive. We found some that conversation that were 15, 60. There were also some that were like 800, but I'm guessing he's near 25, uh, 1000, not 2500. Uh, gee, can you, could you get us a little bit of background check here? I'm gonna, I looked it up. There was, yeah, there was pairs for 25, really. I'm gonna ask Willie and I'll get back to you guys. Cause I still love that. Ask him what the jeans cost and ask him what the most expensive things he has in his closet are. Outside of maybe bags, but like more so things he's putting on his body. Yes. Yes. They make chrome heart jeans for $84,000, $70,000, $35,000, $38,000. So they're, uh, they're pretty expensive jeans. Are you, are you dry cleaning those or are you throwing the pump or dry on? No, one is washing those by hand. I didn't. I didn't wear them once and throw them out. It's like R.A. says with the ball caps, you throw them in the dishwasher. Yeah. You shower with them. Yeah, I think R.A. Is a shower with that on guy. Yeah, it was his trick. He gave us that one. It works too. Boss, you're the man. Throw them in your get your bag. You're the man lots. Keep going, buddy. I guess you being out and now you're back, you're ripping a team's figure and things out. It kind of makes sense. Keith said you're the heart and soul guy. So keep ripping it up. But I appreciate it guys. Thanks for having me on and lots. Last thing when I said though, when, when things maybe we're going so well, should everybody go to the black suits that I'd ever cross your mind. Everybody just keep her simple here. Let's get through this little rut and then go back to the chrome harders. No, I didn't cross my mind, but I'm, I'm usually wearing a blue pair of pants with glass and a jacket. That's why we love you. Lot love you, lot of you. What are you guys? Did he say cranberry vodka on the lease? Like you had to hear the guys all the time. Guys, we got a this Monday. It's prime Monday night hockey. The connox versus the Montreal Canadians teams in very different spots going in very different directions. But January 12th at 730 Eastern, the Habs are 712 and their last 10, they're flying. Our listeners in Canada can watch Monday nights game on prime video. If you're already a prime member, you're all set. If not, sign up for a free trial at primevideo.com. And we got the queen of Amazon hockey and Monday night hockey. And the Andy. Andy. We're going to Jersey in the back. What's up? Yeah, I got some stuff going to. I'm just saying I do. And I like this is nice to be on your turf. Normally you're on mine on coast to coast on Thursdays. Yeah, the first time I was with you, you made fun of me for five hours. That's a five hour show. But I'm not going to do that. I'm not going to do that. I'm going to push you by. In the shade by diss, by the way. That's true. I will ask this. Have you heard of Chrome heart jeans? Do they have those for women? And do you know if they're 30 to $40,000? Well, I heard that conversation. And that's absolute insanity to me. I don't know. I think I wear like Joe fresh jeans. And I 100% put them in the dryer. I don't care if they shrink. I'm short anyways. But what like listen, you got that money? You want to spend it on that? God bless. But that's a bad ROI. I know 35K on jeans. That's like that's a toy that a camera used. But it's a toy of a camera. I don't know. Are those jerseys? I know you're a big soccer fan. You must be excited for the world cup coming to Canada, North America really. And then what happens if Canada plays Italy? Or are they already are, I believe, right? Yeah. What are you leading for? Italy has to go through a playoff in March. Because unfortunately, they didn't win their group. So whatever, congratulations, Norway. So they have to go through a playoff. There's still a chance. And yeah, if they win that, then they will be Canada's first opponent. And I cannot answer this question. I simply cannot. Because it's like tearing me apart. I also have like a Calafiotti jersey. I have my Italian gear. But I am putting up my Canadian gear in the meantime. So you're torn. You're just sitting. I said you're torn. You're torn between both sides. I think you know. No, no, no, no. I am completely torn. I'm like, in the world, okay, let me put it this way. In the world of soccer, I'm torn. There is like no other sport where I would be torn. With Canada and Italy. Make that perfectly clear. It is Canada all the way. But there's just a little bit more, a lot more history on the soccer side with Italy. So you know, you're going to be doing any, obviously, for those you don't know, and he's a proud, proud Italian. And I was just wondering, are you doing anything with the Olympics? Should being over in Italy, or are you staying put? I'm hosting the afternoon show, which is prime time in Milan. So I'll actually have a lot of women's hockey. I will have some men's hockey too in my time. So it'll be, every day I'm hustling. It's like 18 days. So I'm on the year 12 to 6. But really, you know, like you're in at 9. And you got to do hair and makeup. This takes a while to put together. And then you got to have your like last minute production meeting. Then on the air you go. And then it's Wash Rinse, repeat Groundhog Day the next day. But I love it. Started hosting the Olympics in 2014. So Chi. So this is something I look forward to every two years. That's the one that was that. No, I was in, I was in Vancouver. Oh, I thought, oh, then I let's play it in Sochi. I played that's right. That's right. I was there after when the village, the Olympic Village was complete ghost town. It was just the only one building in the Russians in another. Andy, as the host, and you'll be around the, you know, you'll be hearing everything. What's going on? What are you hearing about the ring? They apparently the test game is today. Yeah, like there's seven games in three days. So some sort of Italian cup that they're going to be playing. So I mean, this one is a little to the wire, a little too kind of close to the finish line for me. Right? And getting it done because I will say this every single Olympics that I have worked on, it's always been doom and gloom. It's always been, this is not going to be ready. This is going to be horrible. Like I can tell you right now. So in Sochi, I think you're going to move the jumbo tron or now. No, let's stay there. Okay. Italians aren't tall. So it's going to stay right there. But yeah, like even when we were going to Sochi, we were basically told a war was going to break out while we were there. Now, sadly, a war kind of did break out during the Paralympics. But 2016, we were told we were going to get Zika. That didn't happen. 2018, we were told we were going to get new by North Korea when we were in Pyong-Chang. That didn't happen. Like there's always, this is not going to work. That's not going to work. And then guess what? It always does. So I mean, they're going to have these test events, which means the ice is ready. The toilets may not flush properly for the fans. I don't know. I mean, that's something they still got to figure out. But as far as like the ice, they got that ready. Yeah, I don't know what. Oh, that's a locker room. Oh, that's my basement after the flooding. Not where T-M-U-S-A is going to be celebrating with their gold medals. Yeah. And I don't know why this is lagged so far behind, which is so unfortunate because Italians can put together some nice rooms here. I was expecting some nice decor, you know, some nice carpet, maybe a nice couch. Italians make great leather. So for that, I was expecting something nice, but I don't know. I don't know why it's lagged behind. That is a big question. I want to talk about the book. You just released it. I mean, it's got to just what? Be about your whole story and how you came to be in the broadcast world, how you got your start. Yeah, so I share a lot of sports stories. So there's a lot of stories there that are just like for me in the industry. Obviously, my time at the Toronto Maple Leafs, when I got the job there, traveling with them, and just like having a work hard to be accepted by Matt Sundee. He was the captain at the time, and he did not like that an outsider has come out. Because I worked for MLSC. So that's why I got to travel on the charter too. So I was like privy to certain injuries. Like, you know how it is. You guys go on the play. That's when you put your ice packs on and stuff. So I started to know about that. And Matt wasn't very happy about somebody who would be in the know of things. Who he didn't quite know. So he was like, he was a little aloof in the beginning. I wouldn't say he was like mean or nasty. But I would be like, hey, Matt. And he would never say hi. Like, just walk right past me. Even in the book, I share this story where, and I don't know why we did this. But the media, we always sat at the back of the charter. But they would always let the team board first. So then it's like going through the gauntlet to get to your seat. I'm like, why are you just, but the players at the board first. So now I get into the plane and I'm trying to make my way to the seat. Matt sees me. He gets up and then like starts fiddling with his bag and the overhead compartment. But he's not doing anything. Like, he's just blocking my way because he can. And then he sits down to make a point. Like, I didn't do shit. But I just made you wait. And I'm like, thanks, Matt. Nothing blanks me. And then about three months into the season, when I guess he realized, okay, she's legit. Like, she can be trusted. I was coming down. We were in New York. The leaves were taken on the Rangers. And I'm in the lobby. Get ready to go out to dinner. I'm like, what's up, Matt? Not even expecting a high because he always blank me. He's like, what's up, Andy? I said, what the hell? In the trust tree. And there you go. And that was it. That was your welcome to the NHL. That was my welcome to the NHL. When Matt finally said, what's up, Andy? Thank you. That's awesome. So that's what the book, yeah. I got a lot of those stories, trips to Afghanistan with the Stanley Cup. And then, yeah, like I share a lot of things that I dealt with that quite frankly, women deal with more so than men. So there's a lot of those kind of stories, experiences that I included because when I wrote the book, I asked myself, what do a lot of young women ask me when I do speaking engagements? And I said, okay, they asked me about, you know, what, like, right down to like, what do I wear on TV? Because women are just so harshly judged by what they wear. Right? That's how they determine. People just determine a woman's credibility based on her clothes. So that causes a lot of stress for young women, with even just what to wear. So I have a chapter on that. I have a chapter on social media. I have a chapter on body. I have a chapter on ageism, like all that kind of stuff. But at the same time, I just share a lot of pretty cool stories as well, like how I almost lost the Stanley Cup ring enough Afghanistan, but I didn't. So it's all good. So major, like a big part of why you did it was to give women a heads up as to if you're going to enter the space or at least that's your story of how it it kind of went through. And I guess, hopefully it's changed a little bit and it's better than it once was. I hope so. I mean, yes, in a lot of ways it really has. Because like, I remember again, like, I started covering the leaves in 2006. And I would walk into that room. And I would still be one maybe two women in that room at the time. And definitely when I went on the road, like when I went to smaller markets, like Nashville or Arizona, when I would walk into a room, the room would just go silent because they just couldn't believe that like a woman was walking in at the time too. I had like long bleach, blonde hair, red coat, like I didn't exactly blend into the walls. So you knew when I walked into a room. And I would get stopped all the time by the way in those ranks. Like security all the time would always ask to see my credentials. They would never ask to see like Joe Bowen or Jimmy Ralph or those. They would never ask them. It always thought me. I would always get missed or you lost. Ma'am, can I help you? I'm like, no, I'm good. So like things like that have changed now. We're not at ranks. Like, I mean, obviously everyone needs to have their credentials. But I find that there are way more women now. We don't get single doubt as much. Before women were like, you got to be ringside or sideline. Now you know, women doing color, play by play. So yeah, for sure. Now I walk into a room and there are a lot of women in it, which is great on so many fronts. The one thing, obviously I say this in jest. But the one cool thing when I was like one of the only women, especially covering the leaves, I was no lineup to the bathroom for me. Yeah. Now I gotta wait. That's nice. That's nice. You touched on Joe, Joe, and you know, he's retiring this year. Like what has he meant to you and the leaves in general and how cool is it to kind of be around this year with it being his last year? I love Bonzi and when I read it was in the summertime, I think it was in June. When I saw him put that out on Twitter, it was going to be his last year. And I actually got emotional and cry. I couldn't believe it because I don't know me covering the NHL without Joe Bowen because he's been so awesome. And again, like those times on the road, there were a lot of times in road ranks where I would sit between him and Jim Routh and watch the game. And I would just have my own personal play by play and color. So I would sit up in the booth with them and he gave me some great piece of advice. Because again, I feel like a lot of women will probably feel this pressure more in the industry, maybe more so than guys. But like one time, I was dating a guy a thousand years ago. And I had to work on Valentine's Day. And like that just ticked him off because he just, you know, I don't know, he just wanted to go on Valentine's Day. The guy was mad about it. The guy was mad about it. No wonder you're not with him anymore. Oh, yeah, he's gone. But I remember I was on the road. I was kind of struggling with this. So I go to the gym to work out and kind of like think about things. And I see Bonesy and I tell him my predicament. And he turned to me and he said, how often does Valentine's Day come around that you can like, celebrate your work on like every year? All right. How often do you get a chance to make an incredible impression on your boss to prove that you're serious about this industry? And I'm like, once he's like, there's your answer. Like get your ass to work. You'll celebrate another time. And I did. And I just like, I remember Bonesy was just like, you follow the dream. Shovel them up your ass. I got work to do, bitch. Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. Andy, so I have a, I think we've been going for two, four here. I have to go outside of the haircut appointment. I haven't gotten been able to get to see my guy. These guys are going to continue with you. Congratulations on the book launch and and and everything you got going. And thanks for being such an amazing host to us at the coast to coast and everything else you do. Thanks, Liz. I like the curly cues, but whatever. Good. I just got to get the side cleaned up a little bit. I'm a little bit of a grease ball right now. It's all good. Love you guys. See you later. He also, his Andy, his last haircut, the guy wasn't doing it the way that he wanted to. So he sitting in the chair grabbed the clippers and started cutting his own hair. I forgot about he was doing his own haircut. Why? Why even pay a guy if you're just going to do yourself? You can ask why a lot of different, a lot of different times have opened, a lot of different times. Andy, we got R.A. coming on soon, but I need to know. What teams from Canada will be in the playoffs when the regular season? Besides Edmonton, that's obvious. Even the stats is like they're 96. Well, I mean, the way they're playing for sure Edmonton, the way they're playing for sure, Montreal, I can't see them dropping off. What's so ever? I think even the way the Leafs are playing, although the injuries got me nervous, but I think I would put the Leafs in there. And then, quite honestly, guys, I don't know. I mean, Calgary would kind of be a dark horse. We only because they were 500 in December. And then they've kind of been stinking it up, obviously, to start the new year. And they went from being like a couple points back of a wildcard spot to now dropping. But that's kind of it for me. For sure, Montreal, for sure Edmonton. And then I'm looking at Toronto. I would say Ottawa. I don't think James Rhymer's their answer in the meantime. I would just sign them to that heat-suit till all Mark comes back. But you saw what happened. Once again, they had to pull their goalie last night. And then they took them out and made a goalie change again. Because the poor new guy was just getting destroyed by Colorado. Like, I like Ottawa's team. I just don't like their goal-tending. And then Winnipeg, I want to have faith, but do you have any time they step on the ice? Do you have any kind of faith that the desk always show up? I did not mean to say that there are three and twenty in their last 23 games. But with Montreal, because that's the game Monday night, Montreal, Vancouver, I mentioned very different directions. I always say, Montreal is one of the most fun teams to watch in the league. You agree with that? Like, what do you like about their team for that game, too? Yeah, fast, dynamic. But they also have bodies that can hit. They got big guys, too. Jack, I mean, you look at Coffield Suzuki. They're just so entertaining to watch. They're going to get guys back. I think Gooli is going to be back, you know, imminent. So I like that. I like their blue line, too. Mike Matysen just goes about his business and just gets the job done. And their goal-tending is starting to look good. Maybe it was a little bit of a wake-up call, too, to Sam Montenbo, who I mean, I know is the third string for nations, but now you don't get name to Olympics. It's like, yeah, because you can't got to be good consistently. And I think the goal-tending's turned around a little bit. But and they're also doing this, too. Like, they're also getting the job done. Special teams about a guy who's a special team, monster and Patrick Linae, who's not expected to be back until end of February. So and I love Marty St. Louis. Like, I just, I love talking to him. I love the way he sees the game. He's so informative every time we get to have, like our coach just chats with him before the game. I had a chance, too. Another story I share in the book, him and Joe Thorne. Two summers in a row, we shot hockey videos that were sold in Kellogg's boxes. So yeah, I mean, you've been around the long time, Andy. I know, maybe I should have admitted that. Because they're like, well, they were like little USB keys at the time. Not like, you know, floppy disks or anything. I'm not that old, but VHS in your Cheerios. It was a box so heavy. But like one year we did ball hockey. And then the next year we were on the ice. And even then, Marty, like, I know it's, it's Laryana, who is the nickname, the professor, right? But like to me, Marty could have that nickname because of the way he just like, and before we would like do every shoot, Joe Thorne was show up. And he's like, Oh, he's like, tell me what I'm doing. And then he would add live and it would be hilarious. Marty's like, no, I need to know step by step. Where's the lighting going to be? Where's the props going to like, he just, you know, so he has that mind that works that way. And you see that in his coaching. But he's just a, he's a ton of fun. I love Montreal. How can you not? Like they're just, yeah, they're dynamic. A fun team to watch. 730 Eastern Monday, Vancouver, Montreal. And do you do an awesome job looking forward to our next appearance at Costa Coast? I think that's coming up in a little bit January at some point. And we'll see you soon. All right guys, thanks for having me. All right. See you later. Thanks, Andy. I think some of our best advice there to young women, oh, who maybe dating a guy who's very, very into Valentine's Day and is going to be super upset. You can't go out. It's time to hit the portal, right? That you can't, you can't be dating a guy who is that upset if Valentine's Day plans are ruined. That's a bad luck. Before we get to R.A. Well, brutal news for the Rangers. I don't know if anything's been announced about Chesterkin, but that did not look good. That sucks. I don't know. G. Maybe you can look into that and we could chat with R.A. If you have any news, but he's been put on I.R. Short term, I thought I saw. But yeah, you look at the Rangers year. They can't score. The only reason they're even in it a little bit is Chesterkin, right? And with him going, even though Quicks been really good, he just hasn't got the run support. To have him, hopefully it's only a week or whatever, but that is not a good injury you want to see if you're a New York Rangers fan. And Adam Fox, I think he's ripped to the IR. Is like you're missing like eight to 10 games or three weeks. I don't know exactly. So he got put on LTIR, which means he must miss 10 games 24 days. So that's that's a while. That could get them right out of the playoffs there. To the enormous hits. But we'll see what R.A. has to chat about. So bring that guy in right now. Last episode on YouTube, R.A.s world. Hello, everybody. Welcome to R.A.s world here in the spitting checkers podcast. Boys, what an episode so far. All kinds of special guests for our last YouTube appearance. It's been great so far. Keep it rolling here for just a follow up with Kelly Chase. Awesome to have him one ice. Guardians is available on prime. If you haven't seen it yet, it's a great documentary about fighters and what they meet the teams. Awesome interviews. Chase has the probably the best quote at the end of the documentary. So check that out. Good stuff as well. Celebrini. I bought stock on him earlier with I got 75 to one to win the hot trophy. I put that in November. What a step. What are the odds now? I eat to one. I'm not even sure. I guess I locked it at 75. I haven't looked back since. So yeah, I can't believe what this kid is doing at 19 years old. I mean, he's going to be 19 for the whole season. Like I always I said a million times already. Broins early game. Shock's late game no matter what. Been a treat to watch. And the sentence thing. I don't do remember when Marty Burns was shot on the Simpsons. And like the guy said, we have he's like, won't take the fight with the response. That reminds me the sentence. Like why why even validate that? Like when you when people are talking that shit, you just like, and then I think I just feed it. What's gaps in the fly? Celebrini plus 500 to win the heart right now. Yours is it's 75 to one. Wow. What's your head right now? What's that you can't stop the head really. Plus I mean, I think I got a signal on it. Oh, no, no, but I like a bio. Yeah, what no, no, I think I'm just saying like I bet the numbers already pretty ridiculous. But all right, I'm right back. You keep going. All right, but you know, problem. First off, I want to give a shout out to a guy, John Cooper coaches 1000th NHL game the other night. And they ended up winning it as well. Team gave him a very nice ceremony. The next home game. He also has 155 playoff games for Stanley Cup final appearances. Two cups as well. And I liked how the broadcast gave him in order to his video coach Brian Galauk as well. He's been in his like eight number one with a Cooper ever. So pretty cool to see that. How you must know cool, a little bit, Yandell, Planner, Pinar, I'm a league song. Yeah, just just the complete gentleman, a guy that even when he came in, he was always one of the like the way that you walk into the arena in Tampa. Like you have to walk by the other teams. Their meal room where they work out, been their locker room. And he would always like I felt like I always ran into him. And he was just always one of those guys that would just say hello, ask you how you're doing, ask you about your family. Like didn't whatever I were playing you in three hours, didn't care about that. Like he was just like just a real gentleman, you know. And like a just a truly a great guy to have for the game. And you know, to coach a thousand games in all with Tampa, right? It's it's incredible to do that in the success that he's had with the superstars that he's had to be able to keep them all in check as long as he has it. It's amazing what he's done. How about his bet with Frankie Barrelli? That was so cool that he's just like in an NHL postseason press conference. Just talking about this like Barrelli's and this bet that he had with Frankie. That was awesome. Yeah. That was good shit. Um, you guys already talked about the jets, but I did want to follow up on that a little bit. Um, they're in jeopardy with of becoming the 15 in history, initial history to go from having the best record in the league to missing the playoffs the next year. The ranges did it twice 93 and then 2025. Bruins did it in 2015 and believe who not the same is back in a 2008. I feel like, you know, they lost Niklai Ailes. I think that's been a huge loss for them. He's like eight time 20 goalscorer. No, they brought in Nyquist and Taze, but to combine they only got three goals between the two of them. But I want to ask I'll go to you first, Whit. Like when you're on a team that's sort of freefall like that. How ugly does the locker room get a guy stipe at each other? Is there a unity thing like how does that like play in the locker room? When you know, it seems losing 8, 9, 10 and roll like this. Well, the real bad teams I was on in Edmonton. It was the expectations going into the season were super low. Um, now that doesn't really, you know, affect the locker room because you're still trying to win. You still believe that you can win. But it's probably even more difficult this year, considering what Winnipeg had last year and that first round win. I don't know. I think that having good leadership throughout the toughest times is super important. I don't know anything or anyone in that locker room, but I do know what we mentioned Monday with Luke Shen being scratched by Toronto for what would have been a 1100th game. That's not going to help the room. It might help the room galvanize against the coach even more if they already were. But that's not like something that's getting the team vibes even higher or any better than where they're at. Right. So the locker room can be, it's just really hard to come into the room after a loss the next day at practice. And you kind of need guys to to be smiling like when you're losing, right? Yeah, everyone's pissed off. But if you keep losing on every morning, it's quiet. You're like, oh, here we go again. We got practice. We got another game tomorrow night. Like we're going to lose again. You actually want to come into a room the next day and have guys. All right, it's over onto the next one. I don't know what's going on in there, but it's exhausting and it's stressful. It's like that's what I think of the stresses of losing, being in Canada and losing and having a team last year that you thought could have won the Stanley Cup and going into this year had the same idea. But the Eilers lost. That's a good point by you that we didn't bring up. That's just a lot of goals you're missing. You got points at least. Keith, to you now, same situation. Like the guys call each other out. That is it a like fuck you matches. It's miserable going to work every day. I'm just kind of curious about this when you're in such a club like that. Yeah, those are usually kind of when you'll see a fight and practice or something where guys, and it's not even the guys are mad at each other because at the end of the day, everyone's trying their hardest, given 100%, but it's just the nature of the beast where shit's going wrong. Yeah, you're going to like shit's going to happen in practice. Well, Witt said the stress level, that's what's really, and then it's like, okay, who's going to get traded? Who's going to be out when it's getting closer to the trade deadline? You start seeing guys with the bigger suit cases. Like, if I get traded, I have to have stuff with me. So, you know, and then that adds stress at home. If you're married with kids, you're like, oh, God, we're going to have to sell our house. I think the biggest thing in Witt made a good point is the stress levels just get amplified even more. But I think they have, I mean, they got Jonathan Taves. They got Lowry. They got guys in there that know what they're doing. They're veterans in the league. So, I can't, yeah, it's top dogs. The top dogs who maybe are underperforming, they feel stress. And then the fourth line, fifth and sixth D, that's when you start seeing lineup moves with them out of the lineup. So then they're stressed about their job and their place in the league. So it's, yeah, it's just like everyone, they're going through different levels of it. And guys, you know, like Kyle Conner or Mark Schifley, like they're not going anywhere. These are established NHL stars, but they're on a losing team. They're panicking as well as the guys who might be losing their jobs, possibly being sent down. So it's, yeah, it's a disaster. Good point. Yeah, I mean, they only three double digit goal scorers. Shifley with 20, Conner with 21, Vellatti with 17. And then you got to go all the way down. Three guys that tied with seven goals each. And two of those guys at defense, so Goren's been a big issue. And it's just a starting turnaround. 11 losses at a row. Fewest points in the NHL of 35 there. 11 back in the stack of my God. 25 points back. A third place in the central. So yeah, just kind of a stunning turn of events up a winup bag. But moving along to world juniors. I know you guys mentioned it earlier. Grats of the Swedes. Once again, on the third championship. And hats off to the Chex man. Look, these guys, they just born to be hockey players. They don't stop all game. They turned that game into a nail bite. I know they didn't weren't able to tie it up. But this is the fourth time in a row that they've got a medal. The pace of play, the skill, the whole tournament. It's just unreal. I actually had the juniors on one TV. And then you know, in any cell game with the other. And it was like noticeably the difference. It was almost like watching like a senior league with the NHL compared to the intensity with the world juniors. But I also like to how at the end when they were given the awards or how they they recognize the official like, I don't know. Everyone dumps on the reps in the lives. But I thought that was a pretty nice gesture. But the big talk though was the attendance. And my buddy at the world hockey report, he was definitely throwing with the stuff there is right here. You know, it's a tough look. I know tickets were pricey. You had to buy this whole package. But basically it ended up becoming a biased market. Because if you just kind of waited, you can go on game time and get people paying $25 to go sit in the class versus somebody to watch some of these games. But I think something that people really haven't mentioned is Canadian stayed home. Well, Canadians, that semi-final game, that would have been normally sold out 18,000 people in that place. And you know, I've talked to some Canadian friends and you know, reading online. And basically they just sort of, I don't know if it's an official boycott. But they just don't want to come down to the country and spend the money given, you know, which transpired over the last few months. But I think that was probably the biggest factor that a lot of people haven't mentioned. You agree on that, Whit? Well, I said I got no problem if it's in Canada every year. And I'm not saying winning the gold medal means more to Canadians than every player from every country. But the attendance and the viewership, it does mean more up there. The US games were packed. But ideally in Canada, all of the other games are packed as well. And I think that would be the case. I know I got to play in Halifax. That was very special. I know it'll be packed next year when it's back in Canada. I got no problem. That's the only place by where you can call it the United States, all you want. If this is in Sweden, it's not crowded. If Sweden's not playing. If it's in Finland, I don't know, but I don't think. Canada's the one place that those games will be packed. So put it in Canada. And it makes it even more special at the times the US has won in Canada. Where is it in Canada next year? Red deer and Edmonton, I think. Yeah. Yeah. So that'll be packed. It'll be awesome. And getting to play Canada's a memory that every single guy that plays against Canada in that tournament will never forget. And we'll know that the attendance will be incredible. So I don't know. I mean, there's probably nowhere else in minutes. And I don't even know if it was in Boston. I don't think the US games would be sold out. It's just not as big of a deal here. Right? Yeah. Definitely agree on that. What about you? I think Boston would be way better, though, just because of all the smaller college drinks that you have. So like all these empty ranks wouldn't look half as empty if you're playing at Harvard, if you're playing at a Gannis Arena as opposed to. Oh, no, they'd be packed. They'd be packed. And the fans would be on top of the ice and would be an awesome environment. And I've also been told like the East Coast is a lot more. Like the Europeans, they don't want to fly to Minnesota. So like that's why Florida, Boston in New York are being considered for the next one. Florida would have nobody there. I disagree. Like I really do. Like I think if it was in Tampa, we went down to the frozen foreign Tampa. 90% of the people that were there was just guys trips. They're like, oh, we can go watch them hockey in Tampa and go hang on the beach and go to the game. Yeah, that's a one weekend. The tournaments like that's the US games. Yeah. But every other game, there would be nobody in Florida. It'd be exactly what you just saw. And it had to be at NHL Arena. So it would look even worse. I think you made a great point with the around Boston. Cause like I went to that Harvard game. It's the perfect size. Whatever it is, 3,500 for something like that. You could put Finland versus Sweden and the big boys put at whatever. The USA Canada's at the Fleet Center. So I think Boston would be good. I know what you said in what was it? 99 it was not good. It was out in all of our six or 95. Well, but it's crazy. That is a great. The sports center. Just New England sports center. Where I'm playing like my Mike tournaments is nuts. Yeah. And they had the and you know, they have the room up top where you can see down into all the ranks and be warm. And that game they had like blocked out the windows because they were like $3 tickets. Like yeah, by taking away, you couldn't stand up watching the world's juniors. So yeah, I don't think the boys are like Minnesota and the width of time to it's not like conducive to all the guys that all the guys together go to the Midwest. A lot of stuff going on in Minnesota right now too. So probably not the okay. More but I want to talk about two. Zane Perrecht, the defenseman for Calgary there. You know, he was very candid with the media. I guess he's a pretty outgoing kid. And he had the court. I think it's more watching NHL guys be robots and not having any personality. And then when I'm in Calgary, I definitely have a lot of guys that are telling me to give real simple answers. But here I could kind of do what I want. And you know, there was a, there was a brushback. And he had a walkup back a couple of days later. I said, I quote, I think some things got spun out of proportion. I sincerely apologize to the flames organization. My teammates at the end of the day, that's not acceptable. It can happen. And at first I was like, man, you know, this is, we're trying to get what personality and the league. And then this kid says something. Everyone shouts them down. But I thought about a bit. I think would like probably ruffled feathers and the locker room Keith was that we said, what I'm a Calgary, I definitely have a lot of guys that are telling me to give real simple answers. He's like, to me, that's like, that's not something we would probably say. I mean, in other words, I'm sure every rookie has that for every guy. But I think that's probably what if he did piss his teammates off, was more pissed off about that than the robot comment. Yeah, for sure. And I mean, realistically, like a, when an 18 year old is talking, it's, you know, he, he hasn't lived like there's some guys on his team with 35 years old that have been through it all. Like they're trying to help him out. It's like, hey, you don't, you, you say less is more sometimes, right? So they were probably trying to help him out. But I get what he's saying. I like the kid. I interviewed him actually right after he got drafted. That was in the, in Vegas at the, at the, at the sphere there. So great personality on him. I think he's good for the game. I, you know, it's, it's one of those things. You're in Canada. You got to, you got to watch what you say sometimes. You don't want to give other teams bulletin board material. But yeah, at the end of the day, he said something an 18 year old kid would say that's in the moment he's playing for his country. So I didn't put too much stock into it. If he hadn't said, guys telling me, if he hadn't mentioned guys on that team, then there's no problem at all. But I think right, right away, when he saw the response or even before that he, I imagine he'd say, oh, that's kind of, wish I could take that one back, just bringing up anyone on the flames, right? Like, yeah, yeah, yeah. You're not even with the team right now, right? You've been there this year, but like, don't even bring up guys on your team as a rookie. Who but telling you things like he said, trying to help you. But yeah, it was still overblown. Yeah, and even, I mean, Mackenzie Wiggy, he even said, you know, same thing. I don't like when players are robots either. The truth about it is the guys, they've got robots on them. So that's what I, they didn't come out and say, oh, he sort of talked out of school like about, guys tell them not to say this. But yeah, I first, I was like, oh, man, let the kids talk, but I realized after like, yeah, it was more so like, look what happens to the locker room stays in the locker room. I think that's what maybe he violated. But if you were in the league, he's, when something like this was said by a rookie, would you be pissed off? Like, how would you approach it? What a young guy if he said something similar? You'd, yeah, you'd definitely get harassed though. I mean, not like you'd, you'd rise them a little bit. You'd, you'd just make them do media every day. So let's, cement in the shoes. Yeah, cement in the shoes. I'd, you know, you'd make them do media every single day because usually if, you know, usually when they ask you a bunch of days in a row, you'll say, give it to somebody else, but you would just make him do it every day as a joke and learn his lesson. But I'm sure he already learned his lesson. Like he said, he took it all back and whatever. It's water under the bridge, I would imagine. Yeah, at the end of the day, not that big of a deal. So moving right along this little, something that granted my gears a couple of weeks back, a couple of buddies of mine, Kappen Conds and Dante Abastal. Like complaining about the way strangers dress on airplanes. You know, this has become a talk about, you know, like dress nice on an airplane. It's like, dude, what are you talking about? It's not 1950 anymore. Like I'm not saying, like wear flip-flops, like this clown right here, but I'm like, this pool gives a fuck with a stranger's wearing. Like I'm all for comfort. It's not like, there's not the worst thing I'm gonna belt the jeans on for a five-off flight. And I thought, like, Conds and Dante would be on kind of stops about it. Like, like, I don't, like, do you want to see care? Like, yeah, no one wants to see, nobody wants to see like pajamas, but like, like, what people wear actually in New York keeps in order to plane? Has anyone actually pitched off by not having a fucking suit on? No, no, no, I'm all for comfort too, especially if you're a long flight, but you can also wear a nice sweat suit that doesn't look like you're homeless, but the showing off of the feet, like just imagine if you don't have TSA pre-check and you have to take your shoes off and put them in and then walk through, like barefoot. If I have to do that, I usually wear two pairs of socks and then I throw one out. Like, it's like that, that's crazy wearing sandals. But yeah, maybe no sandals, unless you have socks on, which is tough look. Although I think the kids do that. And then maybe no like tank tops for guys, right? Like maybe just wear like a t-shirt. Yeah. I think smell is the biggest thing. As long as you don't smell, and I think that's the thing with the feet. Like, you're wearing flip flops, maybe there's like, oh, their feet could stink. You're wearing raggedy clothes. Maybe those could stink. I'm with RA, the airlines don't respect us. Why the fuck should we respect them? I'm all in on wearing comfort clothes. But you've got a shower before. I shower before every flight or at least, at the very least the night before, I don't want to be sitting next to a guy who isn't shard in 48 72 hours. That's just, that's disgusting. You should ideally be shawing every day. Yeah, that's not deodorant. Deodorant's big toothpaste, toothpaste. Yeah, I didn't know it was making people that upset our a though, I wasn't aware. Yeah, I mean, the horse bath does the same trick. You don't have to get into shower before you get to playing. Just don't be a stinky fuck. Yeah, because Cahn said, basically like, in clothes cognition, he's, he's, he's tight on his like cycle balbush. It's been studied what we were, absolutely impacts our behavior. People tend to be more irritable when they're in a relaxed state of mind. I was like, bro, with the FU talkable, I love Captain Cahn's, but I thought he was going off the deep one with this one. And then he mentioned, what was it? Oh, the whole mincey stuff. They went to dinner the other night. And I guess we don't take our hats off inside restaurants. Got it. Like now everybody wears hats all the time. I would, I'm eating, I take the hat off, just get out of the way. But like, is that a big deal? Like wearing a hat to a restaurant? I mean, wait, so you can do what he said? He takes it off just while he's eating. Just while I'm eating, not like, I like like, like, like a, like, like, so you'll sit at dinner, hat on, food comes, hat off, finished food hat back on. Yeah, basically, yeah. Why do you take that off to eat? So I don't know. I sometimes I'll eat, I might even spin it, go go Ken Griffey, Jr. style, and just put it backwards. But just the idea, like, I don't know, like, oh, wear the hat in a right inside a restaurant. I mean, like, dude, I guess it's not the 50s in here. I love Cahn's, but some of these, not taking that away. Well, I know in our kitchen, and I remember growing up, if I had a hat and I sat down for family meal, like, but I'd take that hat off, that hat was being taken off for me. Now, when my boys have hats on, hey, take your hat off while we eat. Yeah. But I'm a restaurant I wear at a meeting. So I guess I'm more looking at it at home, at a dinner at home. Yeah, no hats allowed in the house. My father-in-law, if you walk into his house with a hat, oh, doesn't matter if you're 50 years old, he'll tell you to take it off, which I absolutely respect and love that about him. But in the restaurants, I think nowadays, it's so like, you know, as long as you're not wearing a dirty, like, gee, said a dirty, grubby hat, I guess, if you're looking good. And, you know, because at the end of the day, some of us are bald in a little bit. You want to hide it or whatever the case is. You haven't got a haircut in a little bit, like busy and it's just kind of one of those things. You can dress it up nice enough, but yeah, don't wear a dirty hat that looks like you've been in the sandlawed all day. Yeah, my grandfather, like, he would take my hat, he would throw it out the window if I walked inside the house when I had it on the, he, it was my grandfather. He's not, not Collins, but like, Jesus said though, I think the airlines just kind of re-point what they sowed, you know, they've been treating customers like shit for all this time and like, well, people are just like, all right, I'm going to dress like a slob, because the ambulance is this tube, 35,000 feet in the air. But, well, I mean, they're, you're choosing to fly. They're getting us to our location. Yeah, they're like, they're helping you go somewhere. You want to be forcing you on that plane. Yeah, but jamming you in the tube. I mean, you've been flammable on time. You, you could acknowledge it. Like, yeah, Trauma has definitely taken a dip, like, customer service wise. Just, you know, they, I used to be like a, like, sort of almost a luxury to fly. Now it's just like, I don't know. You feel like you're in a cattle car some these days. No. Yeah, I got to be honest. Like, I'm flying. I'm flying in my first class. I know people, the haters are going to not like this, but I'm the less, it's not that bad for me. I know I'm not sitting where a lot of people are sitting. I got to be honest though. And I couldn't sleep at night. But I mean, make it clear. I feel pretty comfortable flying. The, the only thing I have against it and when it does happen is if you sit on the tarmac for four hours and then don't leave. Like, just let us go back to the gate. That's the only gripe I have with airlines. But at the end of the day, they get me to where I want to be. And it's usually pretty good. You just mentioned dirty hats. I, I talked about it earlier. My pin tweet, if you're looking at clean hats, I have the best thing. You take it in the shower. I put the recipe on a blog. So if you have old dirty hats that you have set the mental value to go to my pin. I've done it. All right. Works. Yeah. The perfection works like a charm. All right. This week's classic recommendation, Brian Dupam in 1993, Calitos way, starring Al Pacino. For my money, I think it's the most underrated gangster flick out there. Al Pacino, he plays a Puerto Rican gangster. It just gets out of jail. He's trying to do the right thing, but streets are kind of learning back to that sort of lifestyle. I'm assuming you both do guys are seeing it with a great flick. Sean, and as well, I believe. Yeah. It's sort of like a Dershwitz type lawyer, like David Kleinfeld that he plays such a good scumbag. But yeah, if you haven't seen the Calitos way, legit one of the best gangster films ever, Brian Dupam, awesome director. Give that a look. See it to wrap up. Got a couple picks here. Wait, wait. All right. Before you do your picks here, I got a little breaking news. Business cutting his own hair again. Wow. That would be unbelievable. But the first Olympic test event at Santa Julia Arena has been delayed because there is a giant hole in the ice. So that is where the Olympics will be played in less than a month. There's a giant hole in the ice. They can't play test game numeral Uno. This is not good. All right. Least their test and lease their testing. But this is why you test, right? We test. This is why you make sure everything's going to be working and usually doesn't work right away. Restaurants, they have their first soft opening week with with family friends. Test it out. Get the kinks out. We still have over a month, I believe. Maybe right around a month. That is to be okay. Shall I be okay? And those games are going to be amazing. Yes. Shout out to Suzuki too. I didn't even know that was still a company. Oh, you had on the boards. Oh, yeah. I think they make motorcycles in Europe. They don't make cars. Did they make cars? No, remember the. Susoon. I know. I need cars. Yeah, they do. I don't know. Okay. I haven't heard that name in ages. And there's no contingency plans either. I know people think, oh, there's a second every site. No, it's going to work because it's going to work. Yeah, obviously what they might be playing with no fans in the building, but the games will be played and the games will be on. And it'll be great. And we will be watching. Can't wait less than a month to go. All right, a couple of picks for you. I think I would one in one last week. I'm not 100% sure. But I like the capitals tonight. They're only minus 125. They are at Chicago, the Blackhawks caps lost the last game. And don't basically take a minus 125. Whatever you put on that put half that bet on the puck line per usual minus one and a half you get back plus 190. And this weekend, I love Carolina with the points. I know they're not a great team. Everybody's all over the Rams, but just as far as a home dog playoff game, getting 10 points at home, I don't care who's playing. I'm just going to jump all over that. So that I got it at 10. I would buy the half point up to 10 and a half. Go with the Panthers and I put a small sprinkle on the money line at plus four 40 as well. Who do you like in this game with? I hadn't really thought about that game because I considered that the only based on the lines not close game. Like I was kind of thinking the Rams should be able to handle them. Yeah, that is a lot of points. But every other game, it's around like two and a half three, I think. So very exciting weekend of football. There's also the game tonight, Indiana, Oregon. I'll ride that with you though. I think a couple weeks back, you gave Carolina at home against somebody and they ended up winning that game. Yeah, I think that's green. Green Bay, I think. Green Bay. Yeah. So that this has already brought you a little luck that met home getting points. Yeah. We'll ride with that again. I'm with you. Go ahead. Do it. I want to offer a spit and check us condolences to family and friends of hockey hall, a Famiglain hall. He passed away and you brought this up. 94 years old. He passed away. 502 consecutive stats as a goalie. Add in the playoffs. There's 552. No backup. Never come out in five. No mask. 52 straight games. No masks. Just absolutely incredible. Just insane stuff to think about the guy that many games can secondally no mask. Just an absolute legend of the game. Mr. Golly as he was known. Yeah, he won a Stanley Cup called the trophy a cons mic and three vests in his 18 year career. 10 years with Chicago for Detroit. I would say Lewis. So I wanted to recognize one of the great game. They say records are meant to be broken. I will put every single thing I want that that'll never ever get broken. If they ever say, Hey, what's a record that's unbreakable? There it is. There it is. I don't even think a goalie will ever get 100. 100. Yeah. No chance. Like 20. It's incredible. As business say, banana lands and finally, I want to thank all of our awesome fans out there. It's been a hell of a ride for the last 10 years and I know we'll make it move over to that flick. So I just want to tell everybody out there who's stuck with us, whether you're new, old, whatever. We always say it with nothing without our audience. That's why we're able to do this for a living. We love doing it. And I just want to thank every single person who said if they've been day one or day one for them was last week. We love you guys. Galsen. We're very happy and very proud to do what we do and it's all because you folks. So thank you. And hopefully we'll see you on Netflix very soon. Well said, all right. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Like that. That's a guy everyone's praying for. I hope everyone's praying for unbelievable human. Lots comes on. Andy Trillo. Just a great, great time. A great show. I really hope that everyone who watches on YouTube, if you don't want to get Netflix, I understand. If you do, thank you so much. And I hope that you listen to the pod on audio. If you don't want to get Netflix or you're not going to get Netflix, just really appreciate you. I'm sorry, some people are upset. I hope, hope some people come over and if not, can still listen to the audio and we'd really appreciate it. And if you don't want to, that's, that's your feeling. That's your right. But we love you all no matter what. We love you guys. And just real quick, like we will still be on YouTube and Canada until Netflix figures out the podcasting up there. They're working on getting it set up. So we will still be on YouTube and Canada and just want to reiterate every nothing changes with audio, Spotify, Apple, I heart me to every audio app you can get. That are shown. Nothing changes. Game notes will still be on YouTube. Sandbaggers will still be on YouTube and Chick-Lets use will still be on YouTube. So YouTube ain't going anywhere and we love our fans so much. Yeah. Thank you, everyone. Have an awesome weekend. And show no Kelly Chase. Yeah. I don't think we'll see you guys on Monday. What are you doing? I'm going to have a good weekend. I'm going to have a good weekend. I'm going to have a good weekend. I'm going to have a good weekend. I'm going to have a good weekend. I'm going to have a good weekend. I'm going to have a good weekend. I'm going to have a good weekend. I'm going to have a good weekend. I'm going to have a good weekend. I'm going to have a good weekend. I'm going to have a good weekend. I'm going to have a good weekend. I'm going to have a good weekend. I'm going to have a good weekend. I'm going to have a good weekend. I'm going to have a good weekend. I'm going to have a good weekend. I'm going to have a good weekend.
