Summary

Hour 2 of Kentucky Sports Radio covers UK basketball's remaining season scenarios, potential summer basketball tour location, baseball player Tyler Bell's injury status, and roster predictions for next season. The hosts also discuss historical Coach Cal content including the forgotten 'Lexi' voicemail service from 2010.

Insights
  • UK basketball faces extreme outcome variance: realistic scenarios range from winless to Sweet 16, creating vastly different fan sentiment based on identical remaining schedule difficulty
  • Roster continuity uncertainty: only Colin Chandler is universally agreed upon to return; Malachi Moreno and Cam Williams are secondary locks, indicating significant roster turnover likely
  • Tyler Bell's potential return for SEC play would dramatically alter baseball team depth and rest distribution for primary guards, though conditioning concerns remain substantial
  • Coach Cal's early 2000s digital monetization attempts (Lexi voicemail service, CoachCal.com subscription) were ahead of their time but poorly executed and quickly abandoned
  • Summer basketball tour location speculation reveals fan engagement with program decisions; Bahamas destination would be more accessible to fans than international alternatives like Dubai

The truth is, that moment doesn't really exist. A lot of buyers pause because of headlines or assumptions, but every situation is different. Race change, market shift, and personal goals matter just as much as what's happening nationally. That's why talking to a local lender can be so valuable. Welcome to Hour 2 of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Now, here's Matt Jones. Welcome back. Hour number 2 of Kentucky Sports Radio. 859-280-2287 here at KS Bar. We are open for lunch and ready to rock. Getting ready for Madisonville tomorrow. Kentucky and Vandy, 2 o'clock Saturday. Is that what it is? That's right. 11.30 pregame, 2 o'clock. 11.30 pregame, be here at the bar. Should be fun. Hopefully have a big crowd here. Two more home games left, and then that's it. Crazy. Yeah. We haven't taken any calls, but that's because I got all these topics. Great topics. They are great topics. One person writes, Matt, calling anyone a dork is the height of hilarious. You are the biggest dork I've ever seen. True. But you wear it. But I didn't go in the locker room and try to celebrate with the hockey team. I would know better. I'm not – I've been in a locker room one time, and it was after UK beat South Carolina in football in like 20 – it was Stoops' first big road win. They invited me in, and they're playing, and everybody was dancing, and I was like, I can't – I feel weird. You didn't crowd surf? No, because I was like, I didn't play. So I watched for a minute, and I was like, all right, I'm going to go, because it's not – I'm not out there like, Did you see me throw it? Like I didn't play. You weren't throwing around the game ball and smoking a cigar. So I grant you I'm a dork, but that's not the point. One person writes, did Crosby, Stills, and Nash, they said, love the one you're with. How's that song go? If you can't get who you love, love the one you're with. That's right. That's it. No comment. Yeah, all these people in relationships, they will not say. They have to have their wedding vows. We're happy in our relationships. Yeah, no, I understand. Ryan's about to get married. All right, Drew. Slow down. You know, the funny thing is every time we play the game, who will be the next to get married? The good thing about Ryan is we can play that game many times. And it will continue. Recirculating. Yeah, just he'll keep. He loves love. He does. All right, one through ten, Drew. I will go with number three. Number three. Mark Pope announced yesterday that Kentucky is going to have a summer tour this year. They are going to play somewhere overseas on a summer tour in games, and he said he couldn't say what it was, but it is somewhere he's never been. He almost sounded a little giddy, like he was excited about wherever this location is. He didn't say it was somewhere Kentucky's never been. He just said it's somewhere he's never been. So I don't know what his travel life has been like, but he played overseas. So one of the things we could do is just go see where he played overseas because we know we're not going there. Right. When he was in college, they played in Italy, so we know we're not going there. I thought he might recreate that, but he ruled that out. He said, I have a text machine source. Now, I'm not advocating this source, but they had very specific details. and I went back, they have said something true one time before. They also have said something that ended up not being true one time, so it could go either way. But they said, and they said with confidence, they said the place and the location, right? Seems to be like some in-depth information. Bahamar in the Bahamas and said Kansas and a couple of other teams would also be going there this summer. Now, again, that's not official. This is from random text machine person. But you know what? We're all friends here. We're just speculating. I don't know if Mark's ever been to the Bahamas. I haven't asked him. And this is a different island, I think, right, than the island we went to before. Same island, just down the beach a little bit. You can see it from the Atlantis Beach. It's really nice. Weren't they building that or had just built it? Yeah, it was pretty new when we had been there. I think when you and I rode in the back of that truck, that guy was like, the next time you're here, that'll be open. I almost went last summer for vacation. It's really nice. So, Baja Mar is what this person says, but, again, I don't know if that's true. It feels like in the years past they've given us a lot of notice about this. This would be – if they're going in July or August, this is – You need to get the word out there. People make their plans. Four or five months away. Yeah. But still, it would be very exciting. I love summer basketball. Yeah, and I've wanted to go to that particular place for a while, so I would love for that to be it. When he said somewhere we haven't been, I know there's that Dubai – Somewhere he hadn't been. Or to him and Jenna, there's that Dubai, Royal Palm, whatever. And I'm like, please don't play in that when he was talking about it. So I would love for it to be the Bahamas. You thought it might be Dubai? No, I don't know. I don't have a thought. But that is existing this summer. So I thought, please don't be that. I thought that Dubai thing, though, was regular season games. Whatever it is. It's a regular season. Yeah, Tom Church's kid's put it on, so I'm sure it'll go well. Yeah, it's a regular season thing. The point being, I was just running through countries that it could be. And I was like, God, please don't. I don't want anything there. Well, I don't know what it is. He also said fans would enjoy it. I think it would be hard for fans on five months' notice to get to Dubai. But the Bahamas is, you know, some people could get there. Either way, I like the idea of playing summer basketball. Now the question is, will we have a team who will be on the team? But I am excited about the idea of playing. So it will be like a round robin with three or four different games, do you think, something like that? I mean, you're just making that up. I don't think we play other college teams. I think the idea, though, is there will be a bunch of teams there that will all play. Because that's what's happening. Yeah, like we've normally done. Yeah, when we were in the Bahamas before, I remember Ohio State was there, and Murray State was there, or Moorhead State, like other teams were there. North Carolina. So I think it's something like that. Yeah, and then you get the randoms that we meet in the casino and hang out with, and you look up and they're playing basketball the next day. Yeah, so exciting stuff. One through nine, Shannon. Give me number seven. Seven, UConn St. John's last night. I watched it. So here I was all excited, turned on the peacock. Yep. I only watched peacock for the Tour de France, the Olympics, and the show called Ponies. Have you seen that? Have not seen it. Don't know anything about it. It's good. It's about women. Who cares? It's good. You got to watch. It's called Ponies. Turned it on, put the game on, rout. out uh rick patino's worst loss ever in his career saint john's third worst loss in the history of the program they missed their last 24 field goal attempts oh of 24 to end the game they couldn't buy a bucket can you imagine the practice they're gonna have oh patino after that they had eight minutes they had like eight minutes left in the game they had 36 points with eight minutes left in the game. Their last made basket, there was 17 and a half minutes on the clock. Their final field goal. They didn't score for the final 17 and a half minutes? I think they had some free throws, but their last made basket. I had to look up his post-game news conference and it lasted like a minute, 15 seconds. That was it. I heard he didn't come out at all. He was out in the hallway, but outside the locker room. Yeah, he didn't come in the media room. Didn't come in the media room. Shouldn't have fired the GM. Danny Hurley was asked before the game, what kind of relationship do you have with Rick Pitino? Did you see his answer? No. He goes, none. Does he have a relationship with anybody, though? Well, he said, to his credit, I mean, a man needs to know his weaknesses. He said, yeah, I'm not really friends with anyone that coaches. There you go. Well, I mean, maybe that's what you have to do, though. Do you think? He's honest. I mean, he's like, I mean, the last three coaches to win a national title have all been, let's be honest, jerks. But Danny Hurley's won two, and Todd Golden, I mean, he's got his whole thing too. So, I mean, that's three in a row. And we saw Rick and Cal do the pretend to like each other when all of us just went out the other ear because we know it wasn't true. I like that he's just – Remember when they did that podcast together? Yes. That was awkward. Can you see Hurley doing a podcast with someone? Do you remember when Cal – just thinking of random – Remember when Cal did the – you could call a phone number and he would give you updates about the team? I'd forgotten about that. I don't remember that at all. That didn't go over very well, I don't think. Do you not remember this? He had some sort of like scheme. What is – I know this happened. I know CoachCal.com, he had a lot of things. Do you remember? There was something you call a number and it would give you like – A recorded message. A recorded message of Cal talking about the news of the team. Yeah. Shannon, am I – I don't remember. Like a Cal hotline, huh? It was like the old WWE hotline, $199. I don't know if you had to pay. You should get your parents' permission before you call. Or was it a text? It was something to do with the phone. And it lasted literally like a week. I don't know anybody that did it. I don't remember it. I remember thinking – It was out there, though. I remember thinking when I heard it, like, this could be big. And then it just went away. Everybody would have the same scoop, though. You remember he also started a new podcast. And he started a new podcast right before he took the job at Arkansas. He had Michelle Obama's brother, the Oregon State coach, as his first guest, and then never did another one. You remember that? It was called like the Leadership Podcast, and he literally did one episode and then never did another one. You're forgetting all these. No, I remember that. It was called the CalCast. I don't remember the recording. I was trying to look that up. His CoachCal.com in the early days had a little bit of a money grab to it. We have to find what it is. Yeah, the T-shirts. There was – what? You remember the phone? No one remembers the phone but you, Ryan, which worries me that you're the only person that remembers. It was a phone or a text message or something that fans could dial in. Someone out there remembers this And it didn last very long at all I also remember CoachCow did have a subscription service because I had to tour his bathroom Do you remember that And there was a t if you're at a certain level because I have one and it has the Twitter logo on it to follow Coach Cow. That video is out there online of me giving a tour of Coach Cow's bathroom which is really embarrassing in hindsight. I get in his shower I think. I don't remember that. You know, you definitely get in the shower. I think it was at the craft center, right? Yeah, it wasn't in his house, but it was coach Cal, wherever it was, Cal Perry had his own shower and I got in it. Good reporting. It sounds really bad. It's where he stands without clothes on, lathers himself and so why did I do that? Looking for timeouts. I know. I know I'm right about that. I believe you. There was a lot of little money grab things on the CoachCal.com early days. Yeah. Well, anyway, so Patino, yeah, it was the Cal. Oh, yes, they were called Lexis. Look that up. That's what they were called. They were called Lexis. What is it? Lexis. They were called, and you could call, and you could get a Lexi from Cal. I'm starting to have a memory of this. I'm still trying to help. Here we go. This is from the Herald leader, John Clay. Cal knows how to combine the two. From CoachCal.com, his audio clips on Lexi to his Twitter followers. John Clay's quoted one of them. Yeah, find out what the Lexi was. Because I think you call a number, and it would be like, hello, this is John Cal Perry, and it's such and such day. This is your Lexi. I remember it. I just don't remember if it was a text message or a call. but something you would get if you called this certain number. Yeah. UConn, by the way, sorry, the Patino loss was his second worst loss of all time. Do you remember his first worst loss, which was here at Kentucky? Kansas. Kansas, 150 to 95. And his minute 15 news conference, he brought that up. You know, his team missed their last 24 field goals, and then Calipari's team made like their last 14 field goals last night. Both our coaches had completely opposite endings last night. I'm having a good time going back. All right, so tell me about the Lexis. First of all, here's the – This was not one of the topics, but I'm glad I remembered. First of all, I don't remember this, but this is so him. Here's a New York Times article that says CoachCal.com gets 100,000 views a day. I don't believe that. I do not believe that. That was not true. And he was in the process of starting the Chinese version of CoachCal.com. Oh, wait a minute. What was the guy's name? Laodou. Laodou. Laodou. They brought a guy from China, and he followed the team for a year. We love that guy. I do not believe he had $100,000. No, he didn't have $100,000. But there's a lot of CoachCal.com. You can get a Lexi autographed hat from legendary head coach and Lexi caster extraordinaire, John Calipari. So he was a Lexi caster. He was a Lexi caster. Wow. That didn't last very long. No, it didn't. Now I'd like to go back and hear what they were. Is ChineseCoachCal.com still available? I want to read that. Lao Du was great. I love Lao Du. I have selfies with him on my phone to this day in New Orleans. Do any of you all remember there being a Chinese guy that was following the team around? A Chinese newspaper hired Lao Du. He followed Kentucky around, was it 2012? Was it the year we won the title? We loved him. He was my seat neighbor at every game. He was awesome. And he really didn't know much about basketball. He had no idea why he was here. He had a Chinese Twitter he showed me. It was incredible. He would tweet about the games in Chinese. I found audio of a Coach Cal Lexi cast. Oh, yes. Okay, with T's, okay? What a T's. What a radio host. What a commercial break for this one. Yes. You're going to stick through the break to hear this. Yes, you are. I am. This Lexi. We talk about the diseases, infections, and biological threats that can make us really sick. But right now we're doing something a little different. We're stepping back and looking at what the human body needs to keep going. When you consider what we know about sleep in humans, there's one rule that comes out. We are predictably unpredictable sleepers. We're talking about why sleep works the way it does, why our bodies don't follow neat rules, and why modern life makes rest so hard to come by. The second half of our series takes us to the digestive system, with a multi-part series on what happens after we eat. Okay, I just have to say that all of my favorite words apparently are digestive words. It's sphincter, peristalsis, duodenum. It's fascinating. It's funny. And it matters so much more than you think. Episodes of our new series run from January 20th through February 17th, with new episodes every Tuesday on the Exactly Right Network. Inside Charlie's place, Black and white people danced together. But not everyone was happy about it. You saw the KKK? Yeah, they were dressed up in their uniform. The KKK set out to raid Charlie, take him away from here. Charlie was an example of power. they had to crush you. Usually, I mean, I can say anything about U.K. basketball, and someone will say, yes, I remember that. The Lexis have gone to history. It wasn't around long enough for people to even know about it. Ryan Lemon and I are the only ones that seem to remember this. Further tells me he wasn't getting $100,000 a week. Yeah, I mean, there's a couple people on the text machine, 772-774-5254 say they remember it, but not many, which is very rare. So, Shannon, this is... You're saying this is a Coach Cal Lexi? Yes, this is video of Calipari recording a Lexi, but it serves the same purpose. So, here's his Lexi. Alright, let's go ahead. Here we go. This is a Cal Lexi from... This is 2010, apparently. Alright, folks. This is Coach Cal for Lexi. I had to call you. I know I'm usually calling you in the mornings, but I'm calling you now because of all the NCAA tournament stuff that's out. You know, we win the SEC in a dogfight. I don't know how we won the game. If you figure it out, send me a note and tell me how we won because I have no idea. But we did win. We had to travel back, race to my house to see where we'd fall. We knew we'd be a one. We needed to know what region and who we'd be playing against. Well, then I had to do a few things for DirecTV, Mega March Madness, which I'm helping them with. And then Brad, my son, wanted to go out and throw baseball. So I had to do that. Now I'm on my way to go watch some tape of East Tennessee State. And I'll tell you, I am so juiced up about this tournament. We have a hard road now. And I understand we're one of the hard, I think Kansas has a hard road also. They're all hard. I mean, there's no easy way because you're going to have to win games. You have to take, there's going to be upsets. There's teams you think you're going to play. You're not going to be playing, but it's going to be a tough road. And then with a young team like we have? Oh my goodness. But I'll tell you what. I've got a talented young team. And I'm anxious to get after it. And I'm just hoping we've grown through the weekend. Alright, so that's Alexi there. 2010. So that was because we played East Tennessee State that year, right? Yep. I think we did. He says we're a one seed. Yep. This is for March 15, 2010. Wow. The John Wall team. And he said, how did we win that game? That was the Mississippi State game in the tournament where we make the comeback. Yeah. Wow. So, what a – I mean, just hearing that, what a – to me, a great idea for 2010 where people could call and get an update from Coach Cal. But he said he called them. Yeah. Did it just – did your phone ring? So, he would call you? I guess, do you subscribe? Yeah. He would call you. Maybe send out a message to everybody that subscribed? Sounds like a long-term conversation to me. Wow. Can you imagine you get a phone call and Cal Perry's just in your ear going, hello, this is John Cal Perry. Wow. The Lexi. All right. Well, that's from the past. Rhyme, one through seven. Let's go to number eight. One through seven, number eight. Stop being it. Don't be funny. Just one through seven. You and I have this conversation. Don't try to be funny. You're naturally funny. When you try to be funny, you frustrate me. Just one through seven. Let's go to number one then. One. All right. I was going to lead the show with this, but then I decided to do this thing. Give me your best case and your worst case scenario. best case, worst case scenario for the rest of the season for UK. Drew, best case, worst case. Best case is Aberdeen and Owe and Chandler play, you know, their best basketball like we've seen consistently throughout the SEC. And then the combination of Yellevich and Diabate give you what they gave you the other night. You stay healthy, and that group in Marino take you to the second weekend. So best case for you is Sweet 16. Yes. Worst case? We don't win another game at all. Okay. That's a plausible scenario. And I don't think that will happen, but it's not impossible. We're probably going to be an underdog all three of the games left. The scenario where that happens is you lose the three regular season games. You end up with the eighth seed because Texas loses a couple times coming down the stretch. You're the eighth seed. you play Texas in the first round of the SEC tournament. But then if you lose that, your NCAA seed, you're an underdog. Your NCAA is like an 11 seed and you lose in the first round of the NCAA. I think that's extreme, but it's not non-zero chance. That was going to be my worst case. There is a worst case scenario where you do not win another game. Best case scenario for me, beat Vandy at A&M, lose to Florida. You end up like a sixth seed in the SEC tournament. You end up playing like Arkansas in the quarterfinals, beat them. Play Alabama in the semifinals. Get hot, beat them. Losing the finals to Florida. Go to the NCAA tournament. You're a seven seed. Win your first game. Draw a two seed that stinks. Upset them. Get the Sweet 16. See your matchup. Things go crazy good. You win and you go to the Elite Eight. Not likely, but that's best case. Ryan. I'm still a believer that these guys, they are good shooters. They're going to find their stroke. I know we're about running out of time, but I still believe that Trent, Yelovich, Jasper, these guys, they're good shooters. They're just not hitting their shot right now. So I'm going to hope my best case scenario, they dial in, find their stroke, win two of the last three Randy and Texas A lose to Florida So get to the SEC tournament and I kind of with Drew just get us to Saturday You get us to the weekend of the SEC tournament get to the NCAA tournament go to the Sweet 16 Maybe you have to upset somebody in the round of 32 to get to the Sweet 16. Everybody's excited in that way, so if we lose in the Sweet 16, we're not as disappointed. Shannon. Best case scenario, team gets hot. And your worst case, lose out. Yeah, you guys are all, you nailed the worst case. All right, go ahead, Shannon. Yeah, worst case is lose out. you end up what 18 and 14 and i don't even know if do you make the tournament at that point you're 18 and 14 you make it but you're probably a 10 or 11 best case scenario for me this team gets hot they end up a six seed in the ncaa tournament they beat the 11 get an upset over the three make it to the sweet 16 and probably lose there okay so we're all in the same ballpark yeah but it is interesting just think about the difference in react we all agree that either of those scenarios as possible, right? Not win another game, sweet 16. Think about how different this fan base will be based on which of those two very plausible scenarios could happen or anything in between. It's amazing. And I don't think we would be surprised if it went either way. I can see it happening the bad way and the good way. I could too. I could see us beating Vandy Saturday. A&M's been on a complete, you know, they've been falling down. You could win. Yes. You know, you draw a two seed and it's Nebraska. Are you scared? I'm not really scared. You're going to be upset. But I also could see a world where it all falls apart. So, I guess we'll just be along for the ride. Got that going for us. Call Lexi and we'll keep you up to date during the ride. We'll be right back. TJ Smith, personal injury attorney. Call TJ. He'll make them pay. Now, more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones. Welcome back. Kentucky Sports Radio, 859-280-2287. All right, one through six, Drew. I'll go number four. Number four. Okay. Let's see. One. Oh, I guess I've done more of these than I realized. One through five. You're still doing four. Sigma four. Tyler Bell, baseball player for Kentucky. They announced yesterday may be back. Good news coming out of there. Some rumors Jeff Drummond said may actually be back for SEC play. That's huge. Which seems wild to me but would be huge for Kentucky baseball. They ended up winning that game yesterday against Western? Yeah. You know, the initial indication was that it was a pretty serious shoulder injury. maybe after they got in there and did an MRI or something, found out, okay, yeah, we can rehab and get him back by the end of the season. So it would be a big boost to get him back. I think yesterday people at the game noticed he wasn't in a sling. And, you know, if you're out for a year and if you're really going through that, things probably going to have something on it. It looked like, you know, he wasn't out there throwing the ball around a lot, but it didn't have anything on it, which is a good sign. Let's talk about our other injuries. Zero chance in your mind, Jayden Clayton's plays? Is there a number below zero? It's been zero for me for a long time. Yeah, it's been zero for me since January. Zero? Zero, yes. You have been zero from the beginning. Was that scoop or was that just Ryan Lemon scuttlebutt? Just a little scuttlebutt. No scoop, just a little scuttlebutt. Like I said, I don't know this, but I think there could be another injury that has happened and maybe that's why it's swelling up all the time. And I don't think his dad was too pleased with the way things were going. He only played three games. Yeah. But in the last game, he only played like eight minutes. Yeah, and if he was going to come back, he would have already been back. All right. Even if you're healthy, what's the point in coming back for a couple games here? Cam Williams. Sounds like he's trying. I just seems very optimistic for a guy coming off that injury would just immediately, once he starts practicing, the conditioning, all that goes into it, be able to help you out. Would you – I mean, let's say that he was ready for the SEC tournament. You think it would make a big difference? It would help. I just wouldn't have high expectations of him making a big enough impact to matter. But if it's the SEC tournament and Trent still hasn't made a three and your bench hasn't taken a step forward, then another body won't hurt you. That's what I'm going to say. Yeah, I mean, that's a really good point. With the way Trent and Jasper have played, it could be huge just to give some rest to those guards occasionally. I mean, I don't want a lot of rest, but you could give them a little bit of rest. It couldn't hurt by at least having somebody out there that could go out and maybe knock down a shot for you when you need one. Those days of him playing 15 minutes are long gone, but if you can get him five or six. You don't think he can play 15? Not off the bat. Like Drew said, the conditioning, he hasn't been on the conditioning since when was it? January. I mean, that's a long time to be out off your feet. What are the chances you think he plays? I mean, if they made a deep run, you know, you're buying them a little more time, I will say 5%. I was going to go 10. I'll go more than that. I'll say 15 or 20. I think he's trying. I don't have a doubt he's trying. I just think it's a big ask for him to get back and be able to help you in that timeline that he has in front of him. I think his attitude is right, no doubt. One person writes, Matt, sometimes you write things down. I want you to write things down right now with everyone on the show, players that will be on the team next year. Writing it down. I'm writing it right here on Sunday, March the 1st. I'm going to do Matt Jones' first. All right. These are the ones that I – this is not could. This is your prediction. And, of course, we can change this, but this is for today. Okay. Malachi Moreno, Colin Chandler, Cam Williams, Brandon Hawthorne, Braden Hawthorne, Braden Hawthorne. And I'll go ahead and say Jalen Lowe. Those are my five. I'm going five. Drew. I will say Cam Williams. Okay. Colin Chandler. Okay. Oh, boy. No Malachi. I'm thinking. I'll say Malachi. All right. Got to get Malachi. That's important. I will add Hawthorne. All right. Put Diabate on there. Diabate. All right. So we both have five, but we differ as to who the fifth is. Actually, you know what? Give me Yellovich. Yellovich. No Diabate? Or do you want to do both? We'll keep them both. Both. So you got six. I worry we're going to run it back. Okay. So you got six. Part of me wants to say Brandon Garrison. I know that sounds outrageous, but Pope clearly loves him, but I'm not going to say it. But you're not going to say low? No. I'm not going to say low. All right. Shannon. And I was on the fence about Trent Noah and Jasper Johnson, but I left them both off. I got four. Well, you want to run this whole thing back. No part of me wants to run it back. I think this is what we're heading toward. Okay, four. Shannon, go. Low, Chandler, Moreno, and I think Garrison just to frustrate the hell out of you for another season. Wow. So no camp? No. Low, Chandler, Moreno, Garrison. Shannon with the typical least optimistic, or it depends, I guess, how you look at it. I mean, I think it would be an improvement to get more players that's different than these guys. That's interesting. You have Lowe, Chandler, Moreno, Garrison. That's quite a foursome. I bet nobody else has that foursome. All right, Ryan. I think the three we kind of all agree on, Malachi, Chandler, and Cam. Except Shannon. I'm going to go Malachi, Chandler, Cam. I'm going to go Trent. Noah. And that's it. Those four. Okay, so I have six. Or no, Drew has six. I have five. You two have four. we all have Moreno, Cam, or no, you don't have Cam. So the only two people all four of us have are Moreno and Chandler. We all feel good about Moreno and Chandler. I lived into Moreno. So Chandler is the only one everyone feels 100% certain is back. I'm not 100% there either, but I would say he's the most likely of the bunch. Okay. Moreno, you would say second? No. I would say Cam second. Okay. But he doesn't have Cam. I just think Moreno's phone is going to be ringing a lot. If we're doing the collective group, Chandler most likely, Cam, or excuse me, Moreno second, Cam third. We all kind of agree that's the top group. Those three are the top. Hawthorne, neither Ryan, you nor Shannon believe he's going to play here. He didn't play any this year. I was thinking about just the current guys. Do you think he'll play here? I would put him down on my list. All right, so now Ryan's up to five. I got five. All right, so we all agree with that. No one has Jasper returning. No. No. Is he the least likely to come back? See, I thought maybe Yelovich might be one of the least likely to come back. He may even just go back overseas and, you know, might not even play college ball here. I don't think he'll do that. No, I don't think he'll do that. He can make more money here. I just don't know his connections in other schools. His entire team came to college. So, clearly there's more money here than there is on his team. He might go to another school, but I don't think he'll go back. I just don't know his opportunities. Why did you say, hmm, who do you think is less likely? I was just trying to think. Jasper, I only know, but to say he's the least likely, I was kind of running through the roster in my head. I guess he's my answer. Now, why are Shane and I the only two that have a low? I just hope they go find someone that's not coming off a shoulder injury that plays a little more – like the Demery at UConn that they talked to last year, that type of guard who's having a great year, I hope they go get. They're definitely going to go get a point guard. I think that alone may chase him off, chase Lowe off, and go get somebody else. I think that's a fair argument. I think if Lowe is back as the starting guard, we whiffed. Like, you can't. I like that Lowe tried, and I hate that he has the injury, but I don't know you can put all your chips in with a guy coming off a shoulder injury. I'm holding out for my man. I think everybody. I think it's a different team. It's a different team if he's healthy all year. I still don't think it would have been great, But it would have been better than what we have. Our bottom would not have been as bad. Yeah. Our bottom has been very bad this year. But we might have never gotten Aberdeen, and he's awesome right now. Yep. Fair point. But I don't think we lose by 40 to teams if he's on the team. Right? Yeah. If he was healthy, you're trying to juggle Owe, Chandler, Aberdeen, and Lowell at the same time. But then you could have a four-man rotation. Yep. Right now we just have three guys and then pray. Our best three guys. You know, which I do think is difficult. Usually on this podcast, We'll Kill You, we talk about the diseases, infections, and biological threats that can make us really sick. But right now, we're doing something a little different. Welcome back to Techie Sports Radio. Drew just reminded me that Reese Potter left Miami of Ohio and they're undefeated. They won again. That's brutal. I didn't think about that. That's tough, yeah. He played close to 20 minutes of game for him last year. They're going to finish undefeated. Do you find them a good story or do you not find it lame because they didn't play anybody? It's a good story, but, you know, if it gets to the point where they lost their conference tournament, I don't think they should be rewarded. It's neat that they've won every game in front of them, but it's not some big incredible feat. If our best case scenario happened and we were like a six or a seven, I would love to see them on the other side of the draw. I would. I don't think you could pick a better team for Kentucky to get in that scenario. Because, I mean, no offense to them, I just don't think they're – they're obviously good, but they're not, like, really good. And they've been tested, but not, like – Not really tested. And a real – you know, Kentucky's – I'm not going to say elite, but, you know, a big program from a big conference coming in and smacking them in the mouth. They haven't had any challenges like that this season. Yeah, I mean, if they had just played one game against a big conference team, just one, whether they won or not, you'd have an idea. They'd at least have a little experience playing up. But you would have no idea. So I would love to see that as our opponent. And I can see the selection committee doing that. High-profile game, undefeated Miami of Ohio playing Kentucky. Yes, I can see that happening. I think that's up to them. It would. It would be like Wichita that year. All right, a couple things real quick here that we didn't get to. Next week is the high school regional tournaments. Yes. I want to pick, Ryan, a region to go watch. like make a couple – I want to pick a region to get emotionally invested in. Okay. So which region do you think will have the most competitive tournament this year if Matt Jones wanted to be emotionally invested in a tournament? Well, you wouldn't have to go too far because the 11th region has got Madison Central, probably the best team, and Frederick Douglas and Bryant Station are both really good. So the 11th region, it's always good. It's going to be good again this year. It's not a fun answer, though. Yeah. Like I could go to that any year. Is there another region that has multiple good teams? Or at least very competitive? Louisville again. Yeah, same X. Again, that's the same thing you're running into. I assume you're trying to get out somewhere you don't go. Well, I mean, I could do – I've been to the Louisville ones a lot. Lexington, I haven't actually been a lot. But I'm thinking, like, is there – there's got to be some region out there that has three or four good teams that's not always – The 10th region is usually pretty competitive. GRC is still really good. So you don't know. I'm trying to think. We always had a lot of fun at the 13th region tournament down there, but I don't think any of those teams are like powerhouses this year. All right. Well, there goes my excitement. I mean, Madison Central would be a good one to see. They're really good. Yeah. Is that in Richmond? Where is the regional tournament? I'm not sure where they're playing the 11th region tournament this year, but that's going to be a hell of a tournament. Madison Central, this is the best they've been in many years, right? They won the state title with Dominique. Is this the best they've been since then? Probably, yeah. That was what Dominique Hawkins and them won like 07, 08, Whatever that year that was. No, it was the year we – It was later than that. Yeah. Oh, yeah, because Cal went to watch the game. It was the year we missed the tournament. It was 13 because Cal went and watched the game. That's right. And then Hawkins played so well he gave him a scholarship. So, I think that was 2013. And they got a Feldhaus at Madison Central Tour. He's committed to Belmont. Oh, is the Feldhaus kid committed to Belmont? Yeah, he's good. Yeah, he's really good. He's got some size. All right, so I did read a study, Shannon, I thought you would like. Okay. They say they have found a study that says, you know, people claim people have a natural scent. Do you believe that's true? That, like, people have – they always say married people can smell the scent of their other. Yeah, yeah, that's probably true. I'm not talking, like, perfume or cologne, but just, like, a natural scent. Yeah, sure. I believe that. Do you believe that's true? I believe it. I think dogs prove that it's true. Why do dogs prove that's true? They can smell like a sock and then go find that person. Yeah, that's true. You got a point. Okay. So, all right, fair enough. They say that starting at the age of 49 to 50, your natural scent changes into a different scent. And they're trying to figure out biologically why that happens. That you get to a certain age and your natural scent becomes completely different and that older people then smell completely different than when they were younger. You start to smell like Bengay after that age. Do you agree with that? The reason I'm bringing this up is I'm going to cross that line relatively soon. You have already crossed it. So you have already changed your smell. Do you think or have people told you you smell differently? I haven't got that, but it's probably they want to tell me. But, you know, when you go visit your grandparents, they always kind of had a different smell to them, I feel like. You never visited my grandparents. They were dead when I met you. Leave my grandparents out of this. Well, back in the day when you used to go visit your grandparents, grandparents always used to have a little smell. They smelled different. Mine didn't. Maybe you were young. You didn't smell them. You've got a very sensitive smell, too. I tried not to smell my grandparents a lot. But, yeah, I just thought the point being what is getting me, there are all these studies coming out that basically say between the age of 44 and 49 is the moment that your body, like, starts to go, all right, that's it. Like we're heading in a different phase of our life. And I don't feel it, but I'm kind of worried, like, it's going to happen, like, tomorrow. Overnight, you're just going to wake up and smell different? I'll let you know tomorrow in Madisonville if you smell different. No, but I mean, I guess it's just you tend to focus on what affects you. I just keep reading all this stuff, and it all says the same thing, that you go through 44 to 49 and then like 72 to 74 are the ages that your body makes major transformations, basically ages. And I don't feel it. Like, I'm in better shape now than I was 10 years ago. But I'm just worried, Drew, like, I need to go do everything right now because it's about to fall apart. You've got to take care of yourself. Could it be, you know, when things start going bad, start to smell, getting older aging. Did you notice that as being the age? Yes. You know, you start growing hair where you've never had hair grow before. What? Things don't work that used to work. I wish you hadn't asked him that Peeing all the time You gotta pee twice in the middle of the night Can't get a whole night's sleep without going into the bathroom Dribbling all over the floor See what you get to look forward to That's Welcome to the 50's Dribbling all over the floor Yeah Things just Dribble Crossing over people in the bathroom You know, you're right I shouldn't have asked him that question That's on me I'm going to take that one for the team That's on me, I should have known I should have realized He was not the person to ask I should have brought in a special guest, Drew To ask that Now, I got visuals of Ryan in my head I don't want You lose hair when you want hair You start growing hair when you don't want to grow hair My nose, my ears Hair is growing everywhere. Your ears. Yeah, I get hair coming out of my ears. Oh, yeah, old people get hair coming out of their ears. I've seen that. All right, tonight, DraftKings. DraftKings.com, Vet 5, win $200. Only one big game tonight in college basketball. again on stupid Peacock, Michigan State at Purdue. Ooh. Purdue is a seven-and-a-half point favorite. Purdue gets it done. They just destroyed Indiana and took that loss to Michigan before that. I think they're in a good spot even though they lost that game and they'll win big. This is for the two seed probably in the Big Ten tournament. Yeah, I watched the Purdue-Indiana game. They just destroyed Indiana. Purdue's kind of got it figured out. They're kind of rolling right now. I'll take Purdue to win, but I'll take Michigan State to cover the 7.5. You give me 7.5? That's a lot of points for a game like that. Michigan State's going to play. They'll play them hard, but I'll take Purdue to win, but Michigan State to cover. Shannon? I'll take Purdue as well. I think they do cover. Okay. There you go. By the way, after a two-and-a-half-week hiatus, my Hurricanes are back in action. I get to see my favorite person, Trip Tracy, on the television. You miss him? Oh, that's right.
