I like that. I just have it up to my ears with all this craziness. Oh, good. Tell us what you've had it with. Well, obviously, Trump and the lying and the propaganda, like I fucking had it. Anybody who is not thinking, Holy shit, the United States of America has fallen. Our allies hate us. The rest of the world hates us. The only people that like us right now are Benjamin Netanyahu is a war criminal. We, the United States of America are committing war crimes. What in the fuck is happening? Well, I mean, this is exactly what happens when you elect a convicted felon, the media saying washed it. But let's just visit Benjamin Netanyahu. Have you seen all this shit about like he's dead? Yes. And then there's all this like AI shit going online. And then he releases another video and another video and another video and the public is always like, Well, this one's AI. Well, this one's AI is rings in this picture, but not in that picture. And I think the larger thing with all of that stuff is, I mean, I don't know if he's dead or not. I don't think it would really matter because everybody likes to blame a lot of Israel's war crimes on Benjamin Netanyahu. But when you look at polling of that country, I mean, he's been in power this long for a reason. And I think if he's gone, just like if Trump's gone, we all have to realize that there is there are these fascists, these war criminals that are making their cultures worse, that are not keeping us safe, that are not prioritizing universal human rights, universal human rights. And this is the biggest message that I have for everybody trying to navigate the news. You get to no matter what anybody says to you, you get to care about Palestinians getting killed. You get to care about the attack on the synagogue in Michigan. You get to care about the Iranian girls that were killed by an American missile. You get to care about the attacks in Australia, where Jewish people were gathering on the beach. You get to care about the four Palestinians in the West Bank that were executed a family of four, a mother, a father, a five year old and a seven year old shot the head by the IDF. You get to care about all of these things. You don't have to pick a side. And by criticizing the IDF doesn't make you an anti-Semite by supporting and giving empathy to the Jewish communities that want safety worldwide. You get to care about all universal human rights. And I'm so fucking sick of the conflation. Number one, we get to criticize Israel. They're worthy of criticism. Every other country in the world, every other leader in the world gets criticized. That's what happens. I mean, even if you decide to be an actor, we're podcasters, you get criticism. And so I'm just so sick of that. But what we have is all of these autocrats that have lined up. Benjamin Netanyahu is a fascist, a war criminal and murders, homicidal, maniac dictator of the M degree. I don't know if he's dead. I don't know if he's alive. But I don't know that it matters a whole lot. Just like if Trump were to drop dead, what is he incubated here? Look at the cultural changes where, you know, everybody's monitoring what everybody likes and doesn't like on Instagram instead of standing on business, right? You know, staying on business, I oppose Islamophobia, I oppose anti-Semitism, I oppose transphobia, I oppose homophobia, I'm sick to fucking death of white people being racist to black people in the United States of America had it quit watching their football games, quit watching their basketball games, quit telling them entertain me, and then telling them they can't have political opinions. And so it's very exhausting being alive right now. And it's very difficult to navigate all of this shit with these fascists. But I want to offer our listeners, you get to care about all of these things. Universal human rights are the only thing that keep all of us safe. Period. If you start prioritizing one group over another, you leave everybody vulnerable, including the group you prioritize. Historically, this is all true. Yeah, well, and here's the thing too. I think that my frustration, I mean, number one white women, obviously, my demographic. But I think why it triggers me so much is I used to be that person. I used to be the person that said if it doesn't affect me, why do I give a shit? And I was so narcissistic, I was so entitled, wrapped up in privilege that because I'm white and socioeconomically stable, then I get to have special privileges. And I guess it's like a non smoker. I mean, a former smoker, now a non smoker. I just I see it everywhere. And it rages me and I'm like, I know that you don't have empathy. Um, I've got two reviews for you. And I'm gonna start strong with a five star titled one star with a wink face and resting bitch placed rights. Hey, true in the vibes, but I just want to say something after listening to the most recent episode. Jessica made a self deprecating joke about having a platform and being an idiot. And I know it was said in jest, but I can't even stand hearing it as a joke. You two are so obviously intellectually superior to the average and mainstream podcast podcasters. That's actually what drew me to the show in the first place. As a woman, I was intrigued by two women working in two of my dream career fields. And after listening for a while, I found you both to be nothing short of role models. The way you combine intelligence, humor, honesty and absolute refusal to tolerate nonsense is rare. And it's a huge part of why the show resonates with so many people. Please never downplay how smart and thoughtful you both are. It's one of the best parts of the podcast. Anyway, I've had it with self deprecating jokes. Keep doing exactly what you're doing. That is so nice. resting bitch face. That is so really, really nice. But I think we will always view ourselves as somewhat idiotic. Because there is some truth to that. But I think the reason why the podcast resonates is, you know, we really feel this like I have been around this cult of white evangelical Christianity. The only friend I had in my adult life that was that was pumps and we would go through closeness and then I would be like, Oh, man, this she's a little bit too fucked up for me this month. And I pull back like three or four months because she'd say some crazy shit. And so it's it's and as you know, as she's sharing with you all about her deconstruction, I think that what is happening here in the void of corporate media, being able to give you truthful reports, people are finding themselves in independent spaces where people have conviction. And in a world where in a country where conviction seems to be a rarity, I think that's why people are finding their homes in independent media spaces. No, I agree. I agree with that. And I do think that here we are in the midst of all of this crap, and we've built this community and that's I feel stronger because of it with all the people that listen and believe the truth and want to live in reality. It's very refreshing, obviously based on all the crazy shit. Okay, now I'm going to bring you down a peg with a one star title delusional and go leaves go rights. There are quite a few delusional podcasts out there. But this one is just over the top. Good for a couple laughs. And that's about all. I mean, you know, I mean, for one star review, I like that he committed to listen, he or she committed to listening to it long enough that they laughed. Right. And the fact that they took the time, energy and effort to go craft a one star review tells me the inverse of hatred is love might be a little bit of love there. So I think that's the one that we might potentially be able to convert. We can bring them over. I actually saw a review. It was too long to bring on to the show. But it was like, this show sucked in the very beginning. And it sucks even more now. And I was like, you have listened for three whole years, three plus. And they've hated it the whole time. Oh, I love that. That's real. That's a real dedication to hate that I kind of find admirable because I don't hate anything that much to invest that much time in. So I kind of admire that's kind of aspirational hatred. You know, really hating the hate and the rage. Well, to put that much time into it. I mean, that's really like if you really want to be a hater, like that person could put on a clinic. Seriously, that's impressive. I thought so. Yeah. Okay, I've got it. I've got a new story that plays perfectly into your head. It's today. And I think a lot of our listeners will understand and its political depression is driving more people to the therapist's office. And it says it might look like traditional depression, the same hopelessness despair and shut down. But its source is different. Two thirds of respondents in a 2024 survey said they talk about politics or elections with their therapists and studies show political stress takes a very real toll on people's mental and physical health. And this is where I would just disagree with the way that this article was framed. And I would say this is moral news. What we're witnessing right now is not political to me. What we're witnessing Trump do what we're witnessing Benjamin Netanyahu doing is not disagree with their political policy. I fundamentally morally disagree with arbitrary murder. It's a moral issue for me. I fundamentally disagree with scapegoating groups of people. I fundamentally disagree with the diabolical manipulative nature of propaganda and gaslighting. I fundamentally disagree with prioritizing bombing countries over helping the people in your own country eat, get a livable wage and get health care. So yeah, this we gauge it as politics. But to me, my biggest thing right now is when somebody says, Yeah, just don't watch politics. I'm like, well, it's then you're telling me you're a sociopath because what we're watching right now is a moral collapse, an absolute moral collapse and how convenient that you can, you know, escape into your algorithm and just ignore it. I'm not capable of doing that. I'm just simply not. Yeah, I part I am part of that study because I do talk with the therapist about feeling so overwhelmed and like helpless and what does the future look like? So I'm part of that study. I mean, and I agree with you, it's way past politics at this point. Okay, I've got one more story. This one is super interesting. It went really viral on TikTok. And it says Washington, as in the state roasted for using AI feature with heavily accented English instead of actual Spanish on state helpline. And it says for months, callers to the Washington State Department of Licensing, who pressed two for Spanish, were greeted by an AI voice speaking English, but in a heavy Spanish accent, the voice would say things like please press UNO and enter the last quattro digits of your social. It went viral on TikTok with nearly two million views before the state fixed it. The woman who caught it said it was like a scene out of Parks and Rec. And I've got a video of this recording that people would hear. You have reached the driver licensing service line. Yeah, I I is that verified that that, but is that just TikTok verified or did that, was that verified through a news source? No, that's real. Multiple news sources, AP. Really? How does that happen? Yeah. This is what happens when you just use robots and AI. And people found this funny, and a lot of people in the comments did find it funny, but it also was super problematic. I mean, that's like a year or two. If you do, if you can't speak English, you literally couldn't understand it. Just the incompetence is just raining down from every direction, including AI. I'm only wearing one because if you wear two, I'm either super soft spoken or I'm screaming at the top of my lungs because of the noise canceling thing. I have no way to moderate the pitch of my voice. But this, all the electronic stuff, it's like it goes and it goes and it goes and they keep advancing it to where now it's complicated. For example, the text messages on my cell phone have reorganized and there's columns now for people that I text whose numbers are programmed. And I kept getting phone calls like, hey, I've sent you four texts. I'm like, I've not received your text. It was in unknown sender text compartment and I'm just like, well, this doesn't help me at all because I want them all in one spot and then I want to be able to block the person if it's spam or reported as spam. And so that's not helpful that they reorganize the text. It's not helpful that we are all now forced to buy these because sometimes the plug-in, I agree with him. It's better. You just plug it in and you have them in your ears. You don't have to worry about charging. When I'm on long flights, like to go to LA to see my son, my ear pods die. I'm like, well, this isn't helpful. If I had the ear pods that plugged in or ear pods, whatever the fuck they're called, I wouldn't have to worry about this situation at all. Elon Musk outed Donald Trump properly. You will never get the full release of the Epstein files because Trump is in them. He nuked Trump on this thing. And clearly, the president of the United States, in my opinion, has done sexual assault with underage people and was best friends with Jeffrey Epstein. Jeffrey Epstein didn't have friends. He was a spy that had assets that he was working, that he was manipulating. And Donald Trump was one of those people. And the American evangelical white megachurch people that still support this shit are the biggest political liability. The most morally bankrupt people on the planet go to, speaking of grifting and capitalism, go to the I've Had It gift shop on our website. And we have shirts that say boycott mega churches. And in the Trump era, all the shit that I have to think about boycotting, I'm telling you, as a messenger from a red state, mega churches are the incubator of all of this hatred, of all of this shame, of all of this hypocrisy, of the permission structure to forgive pedophiles. And let me just say this to every listener of this podcast. If you're Christian light and you go to church and you think, well, my mega church is great because we have a couple of gay guys and there's a black couple that comes every week too. And the black couple is even gay. So we're so woke. If your mega church pastor is not screaming from the pulpit about egregious war crimes, about little girls in Iran getting shot with a tomahawk missile. If your mega church pastor is not talking about wealth and income inequality, if he is not talking about the greed and exploitative nature of the billionaire class, because there's one thing that this atheist knows, because when I, after being pitched and pitched and pitched evangelical Christianity by the most morally bankrupt people I knew in my life personally, I read the words of Jesus, the central character of Christianity. He spoke out exclusively against the accumulation of wealth. It is, it is not kind of hinted at. It is explicit. And then you have all of these evangelical preachers who speak out exclusively about the accumulation of wealth, which is antithetical to their Lord and personal saviour that they will not shut the fuck up about trying to recruit everybody to go to their mega church to give them more money so the mega church can grow. It's unbelievable. These churches, one, one of the most insidious. I talk about this a lot. Look it up. It's 25 locations. And here's the biggest grift of the whole thing. Each location doesn't have its own pastor. No, they have a television screen where the main guy is broadcast everywhere. And guess what this their social media account did when Trump was quote unquote assassinated in Butler attempted assassination. They post support for Trump. They never post support for the people that Trump goes into rural Oklahoma where this church is based and lies to them, lies to them and tells them, I care about you. I care about your suffering. They don't these big church is every bit as bad as big pharma. It's every bit as bad as the military industrial complex. It's almost worse. It's almost the most insidious. Well, I agree with everything you said because I am I am absolutely I was in in on all of it. I was raised like that into my adulthood. I did, you know, this was not like something I did at 12. I kept I kept it moving for decades. And let's be honest, I didn't have the skills to critically think until well into adulthood. I mean, I'm aware. I mean, like I could do like academic stuff. But when you applied it to my life, I was incapable. She was. I'm just telling you guys, it was crazy because we would. We're raising our kids and then her life falls apart and would be sitting on my front porch chain smoking. And I remember her saying and like the whole life is falling apart. I remember this so vividly. She goes, well, I'm just so happy that my kids are safe. It's like it's like Jesus and God like had these angels come and put barbed wire around my children. Yes. And I said to her, I said to her like, I remember all the visuals about the barbed wire and these angels with barbed wire was kind of fucking weird to me from job. But then I was like, I was like, but your kids aren't safe. Well, no, they are. I mean, that, you know, my prayer worked there at least. And I said, well, then, okay, let's say your kids are safe. Why are your kids safe? But the kids who, you know, live in the black part of town that are overpoliced, why are they not safe? She snapped and just moved her head straight at me and I'll never forget it. She goes, maybe God just likes me more than he likes them. And I was like, are you serious right now? Did you just say that? And she was like, yeah, maybe he just likes me more. And I was like, yeah, he loves me serious. And she was like, no, I'm dead serious. He just likes me more. And there was, it was just like everything was completely shut down. God likes Angie more. Right. Everybody else. And so her kids are safe and everybody else's kids can go fuck themselves. That's exactly what it is. So imagine that by the millions. That's a Trump voter. I mean, I will give you this for all of your crazy Christian stuff. You were never a Fox News or which I think saved you. Probably. You didn't like sit around and, and you, I mean, you didn't like, you weren't political at all. I never knew you would be political. By the way, authoritarian parents set the cycle for people to fall prey to authoritarian governments. So you tell your authoritarian mother, no, you're not going to go. What does she do? Cry. You guys in Oklahoma and my neighborhood, people put yard signs up for Easter and they say he is risen. All over. All he has risen. It's in front of businesses, everything. Yeah, he is risen. I forgot. And then the Jesus that they worship, the capitalist supply side, Jesus, like if Jesus did exist, the brown Palestinian Jew, Jesus would be so mortified at all of these freaks in the Bible belt and their weird worship of him and how they've whitewashed him into this Aryan businessman. I'm just telling you, it would be like I was shocked when I saw a picture that Jesus wasn't white. It just the way it was preached to me, he was white. Well, I mean, on all of the Christian arts, I feel like I thought as even though I wasn't raised in church, I for sure thought Jesus was white because my family was culturally Christian. Like we celebrated Easter. We celebrated, not didn't go to church. And we had like Easter baskets and Easter eggs. We celebrate Christmas. We didn't go to church, but we had gifts. So we do all the Christian holidays. I for sure thought he was white. I grew up in white suburban Oklahoma City. I thought for sure he's white. Yeah. You know, attractive, blonde hair, blue eyes, kind of what they do with Trump. Now those those Photoshop pictures of Trump with his hair is a little longer and he has like the muscles and stuff. They kind of Jesus Tim a little bit. They do this. That same group of people does this. Yeah, I guess it's their idealized. Male. Right. Yeah. Exactly. I mean, obviously Trump is the idealized male. Somebody else would have to lead it because I'm still trying to fight my way out of it. You know what I mean? Like I I'm so you would be an attendee. I would be an attendee. Like she was little. Her mom was people like, how was your mom an atheist? And I was like, she just she didn't buy it as a child. Yeah, all the hellfire damnation was threatened on her. And she's just like, this is bullshit. So she took the bus to the library all the time and started reading about it. And like, like at 12, I mean, she's like in the library take. Because then she lived in Dallas. But I think that the years in it would be far more damaging. So I appreciate that you're still taking it. Because I think, yeah, I appreciate that you're so growing from it because it's. I mean, it's hard. It's a problem. Yeah, it's a huge problem. And your kids, though, your kids kind of like Kylie at a very young age kind of rejected it, right? Yeah. Yeah. It I just I don't know. Maybe it's because I wasn't I mean, like. I didn't have this control over my kids like my mother had of me. I don't think I think they were like critical thinking and questioning authority of any kind. It was just not something I did growing up. I just didn't. Well, I think your mother's the classic textbook authoritarian parent. Yeah. I mean, it's just authoritarian parenting. Well, I just remember like when we were grown adults, we were 30. What you were probably 40 and I was 30 somewhere in that range. And like 35, not just flat 30, but anyway. And anyway, we're at your house and we are in your backyard smoking cigarettes. And your mother just showed up, doesn't knock nothing, which I thought was kind of weird. That she like didn't allow you your adult autonomy of your home. But I mean, you know, sometimes, you know, parent, but even my parents, they always ring with the doorbell, but she races in, she sees pumps smoking. She completely melts down. She starts bawling, crying, screaming at the top of her lungs, Angie, point your finger, grabs the cigarettes, puts them under the water. And again, we're like grown adults with children. And it was just like this complete meltdown. And then she had to lie to her mother for years about hanging out with me because I refused to buy light because I refused her invitations to Bible study. Right. But I mean, like outright. And then the smoking. And then the funny thing about the whole thing is her religious, most religious friends, total chain smoker, the one. And OK, you can delete that part. But she's like the biggest chain smoker on the planet. But if she for your mother gets a pass on everything because of the beliefs in Jesus thing, I was always the number one. But that's what I'm saying. That's like that's why denial is such a part of it. No, I was shaking. I remember I was shaking like physically. Remember? I. Yes, I remember. And then she storms out and I remember thinking this is wild. Like my mother would have been like, Jennifer, you know, smoking is terrible for you. It's going to age you. It wouldn't be about cancer. And be like, Jennifer, you know, these cigarettes are going to age you prematurely. I just think you're such a darling girl. You don't want to you don't want to look like an old shriveled up smoker. That would have been her purpose of telling me vanity purposes. And I know, mom, I know it's bad. I'm going to quit. I'm going to quit. And that would have been the end of it. But that it was like the super disproportionate. Crazy as thing is really wild. Oh, I remember it vividly. She still do that kind of stuff with you. Have you ever your boundaries gotten better? No, the boundaries are a lot better. That's a lot better. Again, I haven't seen her in a long time. Tiptoe, tiptoe. Coming out. Is she naive? No, but at this point, I wouldn't care if she did. I wouldn't do it in front of her out of respect. But I just I'm just like, sorry. I mean, I don't try to hide it like I used to. That makes sense. Yeah, I totally get. But I also understand your point of like why poke the bear if it fins like I totally get that. I'm just like I totally get not apologize for it or right. Right. Yeah, I totally.
