•May 13, 202618 days agoSummary
Danny Pellegrino recaps Summer House's dramatic penultimate episode featuring explosive fights between Kyle and Carl, relationship tensions between Kyle and Amanda, and escalating scandal involving West, Amanda, and Sierra. The episode sets up a highly anticipated three-part reunion while also touching on Real Housewives of New Jersey's return and casting decisions.
Insights
- Reality TV editing can retroactively reframe character narratives; knowing external scandals changes how viewers interpret on-screen behavior and relationship dynamics
- Bravo's casting additions (Mia, KJ, Bailey) succeeded by balancing new energy with respect for veteran cast members, avoiding the 'too much' factor that derailed previous seasons
- Audience detective work on Bravo shows has become a coordinated, sophisticated effort that rivals professional investigation, creating secondary narratives that drive engagement
- The sustainability of reality TV viewership depends on accepting low-quality seasons as investment in future scandals and payoffs, requiring long-term commitment despite fatigue
- Physical attraction and parasocial perception can shift dramatically mid-season based on behavior and editing choices, affecting how audiences evaluate cast members
Trends

That's not what you should be sorry for. Ah, hello everyone and welcome to Everything Iconic with me, Danny Pellegrino. That was a clip from this week's episode of Summer House. Not going on. So much to talk about when it comes to Summer House. And I feel like every day that goes by, there's 100 new stories about Summer House, everything going on in the outside universe of Summer House. And of course, now we got the Real House in New Jersey, somehow got involved in the Summer House drama. Constitution, or... That's right. Jennifer Fessler from the Real House is New Jersey, which has been off the air for a couple years now, but they did just start filming again. If I don't know if you heard that announcement, but Jersey's filming again with Dolores, Melissa, Teresa, and a bunch of new people. And I had always said on the podcast that I think Jen Fessler should have come back. She was funny to me. I liked her on the show, but she got involved in the Summer House mess. And then she was defending West on some red carpet somewhere. And then Sierra had gone on threads and then implied or outright said that Jen had hooked up with West. And then people were like finding all these receipts of Jen and West together on Watch It Happens Live and these Instagram videos and stuff like that. And then Fessler came out and said, no, actually that didn't happen. And it just got... Talk about Messy Fessy or what did they call her on that show? Craziness. Craziness, craziness. And one thing about Bravo fans is like, we will find every fucking receipt there is in the cash register. I mean, we will find every last receipt. We will come out of any scandal looking like we just left the CVS with a receipt two miles long. Because we know that anytime there's an allegation like that, like these two cast members from two different shows slept together, that's when the Bravo fans do their best work. Because we hop online, we get our monocles out, and we turn into Angela Lansbury and register. And we start compiling all the evidence against the people to prove what's going on. And so, look, ultimately Jen said they didn't ever have any intimacy together. And one of the videos she said her husband was actually filming it because Fessler's also married. That's right. That's right. However, the video actually that I saw, it was like an Instagram video of Weston Fessler at some... They were having pizza or something. And I don't even know what was going on in the video. People were saying that was the big smoking gun because they were, I don't know, flirting or whatever. And I don't even know what happened in the video because her feet were out and the hooves were like kind of... I don't even know. They look like claws her feet in the video. And no offense to her, I think it was just the way they were sitting. But so I don't even know what they were doing or saying or what was happening in the video because I was so distracted by those claw-like feet. And you know how I feel about that. But there is... Yeah, the truth is the Bravo fans, we're going to get to the bottom of anything. If there's an allegation somewhere, you bet your bottom dollar. I sometimes wish the Bravo fandom would point their skills elsewhere because we're a bunch of smart people. I always say... It's not just me. I mean, people... I'm sure there's been studies about this, but really intelligent people watch the Bravo network. We like to watch these dummies on TV. We're smart about it. But I do find that even when I talk to listeners of the podcast, I'm sometimes... I shouldn't say surprised, but like everyone is so intelligent or I get the messages I get from people. Everybody is so smart and like we get it in a different kind of way than I think other people get it. Does that make sense? But so something like an allegation happens, like we're going to get to the bottom of it. And that's what happened with the West and Fessler and Sierra of it all. So I didn't expect the Real House of New Jersey to somehow come into the summer house, but I think it's good. Even though Fessler is probably not going to be on the next season, although I imagine she's probably calling up production and being like, Hey, did you see the news? Have you guys logged online recently? You might want to think about bringing me back for... I'll bring West on as a guest star. You know, she's probably emailing production as we speak. But I do wish the Bravo fandom might point their direction or point their detective skills elsewhere because there's a lot going on in the world that we need information on. And so maybe they can go find some information on some other things because we need it. But summer house, the reunion looks also came out. There was a picture where you could see everybody's reunion outfits. And the picture is like the group shot I saw. They all look miserable. They all... and Levi's not even there. They got a... What's her face? Dara the Explorer was there, but no, no Levi. And I felt bad for Levi because it was announced she was at the reunion. She got a seat at the reunion, I believe, because Bravo put out a seating chart on their Instagram. And then they must have just cut her out of the episode, which going back to New Jersey did happen with Tracy Tudor. Does anybody remember who that was? I don't know if you remember that name, Tracy. She was like a friend of on Jersey, but they pretty much edited her out of the season. And then they invited her to the reunion. She posted a photo of her sitting at the reunion and then she was never to be found on the episodes that aired of the reunion. And so that to me, I always say is my biggest nightmare. Like to film a full season of reality show and then to get edited out, like absolutely not. I'd say I don't care how boring I am. Like just put me in and I don't want to be edited out because it's embarrassing. So justice for Levi. Anyway, moving on. The summer house, I thought that this week was going to be the finale episode, but next week's the finale. So I think I got screwed up. I might have mentioned last week that... And it's not like they're... I think they are re-editing the episodes, but by the end of any season of any of these shows, I get tired of it. So even Beverly Hills just wrapped up and I was like, okay, good riddance. That show was... I thought it was a bad season, but like no matter what the show is, even if they had a really good season, by the end, I'm like, okay, I've had enough. And that's kind of how I'm feeling with summer house, where it's just we're being bombarded with summer house news. And these last few episodes have been great TV. And as soon as they're off the air, I'm going to be like, oh, I fucking miss those yahoo's. But as it stands now, I'm like, okay, let's wrap things up. Next week's the finale, then the reunion, three-part reunion starts. And I think also the reason why I'm wanting it to speed up is because I'm so excited for the reunion. And I feel like it's going to be such thrilling TV. And they even released a clip that NBC Universal people had their up fronts, which is when they attract their advertisers and stuff. And I guess they showed a clip and it... I don't know if Bravo released it online or if people just leaked it online. But they released a little clip of the reunion. And it looks so good. It's like Kyle and Mia and Sierra and a few others huddled up talking about West having a full blown relationship since February 2025. And then we also had those reunion leaked audios that came out. And it all just seems really juicy. And so I think I'm so excited for the reunion that all this other stuff. I'm like, let's get there. Let's get there. Okay, let's move on. Um, okay. We had the last week on the show on summer house. Carl was going nuts at Kyle. Kyle was going nuts. He stormed out through a drink. I think Carl thought the drink was being thrown at him and Kyle's yelling, fuck you, Carl, fuck you, Carl. And then Carl's like, you're a fucking loser. I did nothing except support your fucking ass. Thanks for your support of me. You fucking loser. Carl's in there just yelling at each other. And it's very like heterosexual fighting. And do you know what I'm saying? Like it's just heterosexual fighting. Like I don't think they're just like trying to puff their chests up and measure their dicks. And I don't even know what they're saying to each other, but it felt like old Carl showed up. And I can't understand what they were arguing about. Lindsay grabs Carl and is like, take a deep breath. And that was most interesting to me. I just love seeing the two of them. Carl and Lindsay, which it looks like in the finale next week, they have a sit down, but obviously they were engaged and they've been sort of staying away from each other this season other than a few moments here and there. But Lindsay grabbing Carl and saying, Carl, take a deep breath. I was like, oh, okay. I need Carl and Lindsay. I have predicted that they're going to get back together or at least flirt with getting back together. And I feel that now more than ever. It's clear to me that that's going to happen eventually. And I feel like this is a good way to transition Carl into the city, the spin-off, because it seems like he's making a hedgeway. That's not a word. He's making a bridge, a bridgeway to Lindsay. I don't know what the fuck I'm saying. But he is seeming to make progress with Lindsay. I understand why Carl's not on In the City the first season, because it didn't make sense. It was really like Lindsay's show. I think she was the one who kind of helped spearhead and get together. She had just broke up with Carl, so it doesn't make sense for people who just got out of an engagement to start a new show together. Like if they're already on the show together, they've got to keep them around. But to start a new show wouldn't make any sense. So I understood. But now if Lindsay and Carl are able to bridge that fence, and that fence, why can't I think of my metaphors today? I feel like a big old dummy. Anyway, if they're able to do that, then maybe Carl can show up on In the City season too. I don't know. That's what I'm thinking. But it was nice to see Lindsay say, Carl, take a deep breath. Meanwhile, it was like Lindsay's the one who spearheaded this whole thing. Lindsay got everybody, got everyone engaged, and I appreciate that. I appreciate that. Okay, so then, oh, there's this really interesting moment. Oh my god, you guys. So they're all fighting. It's all chaos. Kyle and Carl outside. And Amanda grabs Kyle by the neck and she's like, stop it, stop it. Stop arguing, whatever. And as this is happening, Kyle's just seeing Red. He's not even able to function. He doesn't know what's going on. Amanda's grabbing him, but he's not even looking at him. He's looking past Amanda and just in this rage, in this fit of rage, and to Dorinda like rage. And Amanda grabs him by the neck and is like, stop it, stop it. And as this is happening, West puts his arm around Amanda and really is like holding her boob and kissing her head while she's holding Kyle's neck. And I thought, and it happened right in front of all of us. And it was such a weird, I understand if like they were friends. I even think if we didn't know the scandal that happened between West and Amanda, I even think I would be looking at that moment a little sideways because he would just got like really close up into her. And the where his hand was going and the camera sort of barely caught it. And that felt like a moment. Maybe they edited it back into the episode, but it was really weird the way that West grabbed Amanda. Like I had to go back and screenshot it. And then I like had to keep going back to that moment, like rewinding the episode, going to that moment to see what was going on there. And then immediately like after that moment, it was like Kyle kept telling Carl to stop being a vagicill. And I had rewound the other part so many times that I didn't want to rewind the part where I thought Kyle called Carl a vagicill or stop being vagicill. Like, is that what he was saying? That's what my brain heard. And it made me laugh. But I did laugh, but I didn't know if that's what he actually, I'm sure he actually said something different and maybe I just heard it. That's all my brain would hear, but it was like so much was going on that I just heard Kyle called Carl, vagicill. And it made me laugh. And then meanwhile, Jesse's just in there like clearly there's some unresolved feelings here. No shit. No shit. No shit. It made me laugh. Kyle said he's been the bad guy all summer and he's like Carl's six, five and fragile. And then Kyle, I think said he forgot his own dad's birthday. He's like, last week and I forgot my dad's birthday. I'm a mess. And then West is like, Kyle, you're really mad at Lindsay. Lindsay's the one who started all this shit. And West is trying to calm down Kyle by blaming Lindsay and saying it's not Amanda's fault. And I'm like, West, stay out of it. Stay out of it. Oh, I got mad at that man. I got mad at that dumbass. He has so many Sam's ass. Carl says Kyle's throwing away his relationship because of a DJ gig. And he's like, Kyle's got no music. What's he doing? Carl thinks it's insane. And meanwhile, Bailey's like so hot and bothered because she is just, she's looking at Carl a totally different way. She sees that neck vein of his popping out and the dog tag and I mean, just getting mad. And she's like, Carl, look, I'll make out with you right here right now. She says that out by the pool because they don't want Carl to go inside because they know the fight will continue if he goes inside. And Bailey's like, I'm ready to drop trial. Like whatever you need, Carl, I will, I will tongue kiss you till the day is long because she was so turned on and I get that sometimes, sometimes that is hot. And she's trying to, she's trying to do what's best for the house, but not letting Carl go back inside and start fighting with Kyle even more. So she's technically Bailey is braver than the Marines, I believe. Meanwhile, Lindsay's inside talking to Kyle and she goes, I think we were all just thrown by your Vegas residency. And Kyle's like, look, it was one day and I didn't even sign any sort of contract. And I was just talking about being a DJ in Vegas or something. And obviously it's hard to even, the other thing about being at the end of the season for any of these shows that we're recapping on the podcast is like, I don't know what else to say about the Kyle and Amanda, but all like, they obviously just need a divorce. They just need a divorce because their relationship is so horrific. And we've been there since the beginning. And so we've seen every phase of it. And to be quite honest with you, when I go back and think about like the beginnings of their relationship in the middles of their relationship, and now we're at the end of their relationships, there was never anything good. Like even when I think of the worst couples on Bravo, so think of who are some of the worst, I know, maybe Jackson, Brittany or, or Bethany and that, that Jason Hoppe. When I think of like those relationships, just throwing these out there, I feel like I could think of with Jackson, Brittany, there, there was at least like a couple of moments I could think of where it was like, they did seem to be on the same page and like each other. Like they loved like talking about Hooters and like drinking tequila shots at the beginning of the relationship together. And then even Bethany and the other one, Jason, like before he was pooping in the toilet and leaving in the house. Remember before they got officially divorced, it was alleged that he was like pooping in the toilets and leaving in the house. Oh, I get a chill just thinking about that. But even before then, when I think of like Bethany getting married, Bethany ever after, which is really the most haunting television series that Bravo has ever produced. But like the arc of that series, there were still episodes at the beginning there where you're like, oh, they're kind of cute together. Like they have a playful banter. And then by the end, you realize like, no, actually they want to murder each other. But with Kyle and Amanda, I'm like, I don't really remember any good times with them. Do you guys remember any good times? It feels like they've always sort of hated each other. And Kyle had alleged this episode when he's on, it's sort of a hot mic moment, or I don't even know if it's a hot mic, because a lot of the times Kyle's just in the closet and he's talking in the microphone to himself. He doesn't even need a seed partner. I mean, that's pretty impressive actually, as just a entertainer in general, like Kyle doesn't need a seed partner. He's like, he's like me doing this podcast, just shouting to microphone, because he does not need it. He just goes in that closet, he knows he's mic'd up and he's like, Amanda's lazy, whatever he's fucking saying. He's basically doing a podcast from that closet. And he's like, Amanda's lazy. And she's like, but he said in this episode, she's, she is afraid to leave him because she, what did he say? We'll get to it in that because I think I wrote it down on my notes, but I have 100 pages of notes. So we'll get there when we get there. Look a lot buttercup. It's going to be a long one. It's going to be a long one. You know, but speaking of long ones, and I mentioned the Valley, the Valley, which has been a tough watch this season, I think if I'm being nice about it, it's been a tough watch. It's actually been almost unbearable. However, this week's episode of the Valley is a super sized episode, a long one. And I did get a chance to see it. I'm not giving any spoilers away, but I will say that I think it was like a good episode and it was actually satisfying. And in the preview clip they released, we see Lala start to get maybe activated against Daniel, Nia's Daniel. And so look to me, it was a good, it was a good episode. So if you haven't been watching the Valley, it might be, it might be time to pop in there and just let it pop, pop, pop and, um, and enjoy it because it was a good episode. It still got a lot of issues with, I mean, there's still a lot of issues there in so many ways. And so it's not like it's the greatest show ever, but I think it was like a good episode this week. And it starts to feel like there's, I don't want to give anything away, but we see in the preview Lala starts to get activated, which is so satisfying because Daniel's been such a nightmare on that show this season. Anyway, back to summer house. Uh, let's see West. We talked about that, calming down Kyle and, uh, Jesse Sierra and West are outside and they're cheersing to like being back, the three of them, you know, and then Kyle keeps crying to everybody. He's, he says, he's, sad about the conversation he had with Sierra on the beach about Amanda and him separating for a month. He's like, I'm a mess. He feels like Amanda deserted him. Kyle says also they've had no sex for seven years, seven years. It seems like nobody wants to work these days. Seven years. I don't know if that was true, but he said it on camera. Cut. Um, okay. So then Amanda says, Sierra just says out loud what she feels internally and it's like Amanda, you sneaky little demon. She said she feels stupid and doesn't know what she's holding out for. And I just don't like her relying on Sierra so much saying what a good friend Sierra is. And then her turning around and being such a little demon and going after West, I don't care for it and West too. Bailey turned on by the Anki Carl though, and we talked about that, but Lindsay's disgusted. Lindsay's like, when Bailey says, oh, I was really turned on by Carl, they do a closeup of Lindsay's face and you could tell she's disgusted. Um, but Kyle, I mentioned he's crying to everybody. He cries to Ben. And also when he was crying to Ben, he was wearing a hat that said hot and happy. And I was like, sir, you are not happy right now. Like this is not the hat to wear. And luckily Ben takes it off when they hug and they almost kissed. I'll be honest, they almost kissed. They did almost kissed Kyle and Ben. It was an almost kiss. It was very close. Like they, and when Kyle was hugging Ben and crying into his arms, like he did also like rub Ben's back, which was in a weird way. And I, I don't want to shame straight men for getting vulnerable with each other because it's a beautiful thing. And, and honestly, I think more straight men need to be vulnerable with each other and hug each other and crying each other's arms because I think that would actually solve so many problems with society at large. But that's a bigger, a bigger conversation to have on a podcast. But right now just focusing on Kyle and Ben, it does feel like that's the future for men's, for heterosexual men to get over some of their issues is just by being more vulnerable with each other, leaning on, on a shoulder to cry on. But then also it did feel like Kyle was like rubbing Ben's back. And then I thought, are they going to smooch, which I wish they would have. I wish they would have smooched, but they didn't smooch. But they, Kyle was rubbing the back for a while. And it was just, yeah, I don't want to shame it. I don't want to make fun of it too much because I want more straight men to do that. And in general, straight men should smooch each other. God bless. Amanda in West then hug for too long and she thanks him. And it was too long. It was too long. They were hugging for way too long. It's like, okay, like move on with each other. Then Carl and Kyle hug, Kyle cries into Carl. And he's crying to everybody. And I'm proud of Kyle for getting emotional here, instead of just raging. Have we ever seen, I mentioned Kyle raging like Dorinda. And I would actually like Dorinda and Kyle to film together, like in a rage scene. I want them to fight. And I think that would cure something in me. And I don't know how we make that happen, what kind of show that is. Remember that, how they're doing the ultimate girls trip. I think they need to start doing, and they're coming back with another season of that with the housewives. But I would like to see more of not the winner house, not locking them up in a house, but another like ultimate girls trip. But it's like the other cast members from the other shows, like the summer house, the married to medicines, the, some of the, even Southern hospitality or, or some of the shows, even when we've gotten canceled, like we talked about a summer house, Martha's Vineyard, it's like, why can't we get some of those cast members and do like a, an ultimate trip where it's filmed the same way as ultimate girls trip. But it's just the other cast members that aren't on housewives. Do you know what I'm saying? Like we can get Kyle and Joe Bradley and I don't know, just randoms. We can just put random, maybe some of the next gen NYC, which is coming back for season two in, I think July, they announced. Anyway, yeah, Amanda and West hug for too long. Then Carl and Kyle make up, Kyle says Amanda loves when he leaves because she can't stand them. And we can all see that she can't stand them. It's obvious. It's obvious. Then we have Amanda and Sierra in bed, electric chair, electric chair. Sierra was holding her hand, holding her hand to comfort her. I'm disgusted. We're going to take a break here. So I'm going to calm down because I'm going to try to keep it nice, but I'm mad as hell. And we'll be right back. Thank you to ACAST. This is an ad by Betel. Did I talk too much? So Amanda and Sierra in bed, Sierra holding Amanda's hand, which is so disgusting, because Amanda just has always leaned on Sierra and Sierra has been there. And she's done that time and time again on this show. Like we've seen a hundred different times where Sierra had Amanda's back like unequivocally. And I know they could edit things out. Even the way that they're re-editing these episodes where we're kind of lingering on hugs between West and Amanda. Even in confessionals, there was one confessional Amanda had where it's sort of like lingered. She said something that was contradictory to what's happening in real time and it sort of lingered on her for a minute. And so they're re-editing it. And so you often wonder, it's like, were there times that Sierra maybe didn't have Amanda's back or something, but from what we've seen as an audience, it's like been a hundred different million times that Sierra has held Amanda's hand and comfort in her and told her how great she is. And even when she does fight with Kyle, Sierra is always hyping up Amanda. And it's like, that's so fucked up that Sierra is constantly hyping up this woman. And then Amanda's like just going, skis them behind her back. That's gross. Anyway, Kyle cries. Amanda does say the fuck you was too much. Kyle definitely shouldn't say fuck you to his wife. Right? Like we can all agree on that. There's no, I don't believe that's, you shouldn't say fuck you to your wife, especially in front of other people. And we, we mentioned this on the Valley Recap last week, but it's like, you know, what, what we see on the shows, think about, think about, they know they're miked up and being filmed. So some of the behavior, even if they forget about the cameras, that some of it's still going to be better than it is in real life. Right? Do you know what I mean? Like in a, in a relationship, in a couple, they're going to be hiding things from the camera a little bit. They're not going to want to show all the ugly parts of their relationship. So it's like, if this is what we're seeing on camera, it probably is worse behind closed doors. Anyway, Kyle cries about Sierra saying that they should separate. Carl and Kyle love each other. And Carl's like, Oh, I see this is what you, this is what it's really about. Is that about what it's about? Like you're mad that Sierra told you that maybe you and Amanda should separate and you're thinking maybe that's coming from Amanda. Does that make sense? Now Amanda thinks Sierra and Sierra is like, Oh, you'll be there for me when I'm sad. So I'm here for you when you're sad. And I just thought, Oh my God, I got, I, I am, I'm so livid right now. I'm so fucking livid. So fucking livid. Because it's like, actually, she won't be there for you when you're sad Sierra, because she'll be the one who's going to make you sad. And that's not okay. That's not okay. Okay. Then Kyle enters and he says to Amanda, Amanda's on the bed with Sierra and Mia's there. And he's like, I want to hug it out with you. And it's like, first of all, so this is an episode of Entourage. Nobody should be hugging it out with your wife, like in front of other people on camera. But it's nice that you went in to apologize. However, he says she had a smug look on her face. And she did, by the way, he was right about that. And he's sorry for saying what he said, but he's like, I just don't know even know what it's about anymore. And he's like, it's been a long time since I felt like we're on the same team. And so he's like, sort of apologizing, but also I think he's tipsy and not really apologizing. And even me and Sierra, like, what the fact did they just say? Like, he awkwardly leaves and he's wearing a shirt that just says have a nice day. And I was like, okay, nobody's having a nice day. So maybe put on a different shirt because it feels like it's hell for everybody having to deal with your relationship troubles every, every minute in the summer share house. But Kyle says this is when he's on the hot mic moment. He says Amanda's too scared to get out of the relationship because she can't do anything for herself. That's what he says. Meanwhile, I'm thinking they're all winding down to go to bed. And they're actually like getting ready to go out. So West is he's looking in the mirror and he's like, I look like a lesbian. And you know what I have to say? Ben, I was so early, I was so attracted to him in those first couple episodes. And I don't want you to go back and listen to those recaps, but I'm sure I was on this microphone saying how hot Ben was. Because I do love an Australian accent. What a bottle. I love an Australian accent. It really is something about it to me is like my favorite accent. And then I don't know, I found him very sexy. And then as the season went on, I have felt so much less attracted to him. But he does kind of give me he gives me some West was saying he looks feels like a lesbian or he's giving lesbian vibes. And Ben gives me vibes, but I don't know, I was trying to figure it out. I'm like, what are the vibes that Ben's giving me? Because I found him so hot. And now I look at him and I, I don't know what the not lesbian, I'm not saying that, but it's like, some sort of some sort of animal like energy or something. When I look at him now, I'm like, it's just I get the ick for sure. But he's also giving me the vibe of something. And I can't put my finger on like some weird cartoon character or something. I don't know what it is that Ben reminds me of with that with his hair and the mustache. And I don't know all of it. I'm like, what is, what is the vibe he's giving me? I'm trying to figure it out. I can't figure it out. So if anyone knows what I'm, I'm trying to get at, there's some sort of cartoon animal or something that he looks like to me now. I don't know what it is though, which is I gotta figure it out. Anyway, I do get the ick from Ben now. Amanda requires another apology from Kyle in the closet. That's the clip I played at the beginning of episode. Kyle sort of apologizes for million things and then leaves. And I wonder how I'd view this episode without knowing what we know now, right? Like I'd be so mad at Kyle. And I'm still mad at him in some respects, but I'm also like, well, he blew up, he raged, and then immediately apologized. Carl, him and Carl cried together. He cried with Ben. And so I don't know, I don't excuse him calling saying fuck you to his wife, but then also it's like, well, knowing what we know now, we have a different view of Amanda. I don't know. Meanwhile, they all go out West and Jesse that night, try to get Sierra to sleep in the room, have a slumber party. And I'm like, good for Sierra to get out. She got out of that room. And by the way, West and Jesse's room probably smells like ass. I just know it. And I know we've talked about Sierra's room being a big hot mess because there's just shit everywhere. I mean, you go in that room and it's just like, and they're wearing shoes on the bed and everything. But I just know West and Jesse's room smells the worst. Because if I was really, if I wanted to break it down, I wanted to get to brass tacks, I would bet my bottom dollar that Jesse in West room out of all those rooms in that house, more than Ben, more than KJ and Darra, more than the ghost of Levi or whatever room they're putting her in, and not showing us, I think she's with Bailey, but they threw Levi in the broom closet and then stopped filming her and she thought she was going to be on this season, the reality show and they had her out of the show, just as for Levi. Anyway, I'm sure that Jesse in West room smells the worst. And didn't somebody fart? Somebody farted. Oh no, that was something else I was watching, I think, but somebody farted on screen. I was watching something this week where somebody was like, I farted. Anyway, I just know Jesse in West farted up a storm in that room. I mean, it probably is like a war zone in there, just stinks, stinks to the high heavens. And I know Jesse's probably stinks from like protein stuff, because he's like in shape and stuff. So I bet you his farts smell like that protein farts, and then West's farts probably smell like, I don't know, an old shoe and dirty cheese or something, because you look at him, especially now I look at him, like he definitely stinks. I guarantee he eats with that top off, like he takes his blouse off, starts eating some stuff, and there's crumbs that are just getting stuck to that man's chest and belly. I know it. I know I can feel it through the screen. My TV is not even that HD, but I can feel the crumbs on his belly in HD. I feel it. I feel it as I'm watching it and getting that vibe. And so I know, and I'm sure that bed, whoever comes in cleans, because we know some people come in clean while they go back to the city, I just know whoever is changing those sheets off West's bed is just getting like a slew of crumbs just to, it's like a, just a, it's like somebody opened a nature valley bar in there, one of those dry ones. And I just know it, but it's just crumbs from all the different foods he's probably eaten in that bed, because I know what I feel it. I feel like those crumbs just in his little wispy chest hairs just stuck. Anyway, moving on. He's just always talking about those nachos at night. Remember, he's always, every time they get back from bars, he's like, oh, see, I want to make some nachos or quesadilla. And I just know that he's just getting it all in those wispy chest hairs, leaving it not showering. And there's been a couple of times where he's like, I'm not, and didn't one day he said he smelled and Jesse one time wore his old ass pants. I just know that room stinks. It just stinks. Probably going there. It smells like open raw fish or something. Wonder what, what do you guys think it smells like? Like a, the dumpster at a Taco Bell, you know, the sir dumpster. That's probably what it smells like. Do you think the sir, I haven't been to the sir dump in a while. I wonder if, I don't think it used to stink. I don't think it actually, you know, what's so weird. I know this has nothing to do with summer house. And you guys are probably like, Danny, why are you talking about this? But when I think back to the sir dump, which is one of my favorite filming locations in all of Bravo history, I've been there. I've been that broad, that dump. I've even before Vanderpump rules, you know, in the West Hollywood area, you would go out to that, that time and then people would go in the back of those bars and restaurants where sir is and people would go in the back there and have a cigarette or whatever when you'd be out at night in West Hollywood. And so even before Vanderpump rules, like I remember being in that area and I don't ever remember it stinking. I actually think it smelled good. Somehow I don't know if Lisa Vanderpump's restaurants are really thriving at the moment. When I think back on it, it's like, actually, it's pretty phenomenal that like her dumpstones, her dumpsters don't stink. Anyway, that's I'm having this like revelation. I don't know what they did was the goat cheese balls must cover up the smell or something. Or maybe Peter's back there just throwing some for breeze tablets or whatever the fact they, he needs to do to keep it smellin nice because he knows the national landmark now, but I don't know what is that about. Anyway, I bet you West's room smells like a dump. Moving on, the next day, Kyle wakes up before Amanda, despite the fact that he went out. She didn't even go out. And he's like, I guess the noise like, I'm sorry for leaving or whatever. And then she gives him the cold shoulder. Then Jesse tells West he was misreading the Sierra situation. And so he apologizes and looking back, I'm like, what is Jesse even apologizing for? He was, I don't really remember. I don't know where's been so consumed with the West and Sierra and man of it that I'm trying. I like barely even remember what happened with Jesse and Sierra. I remember he did go up to him as a can I make out with you and then he didn't ask West, do you mind if I make out with Sierra, but nobody even wanted to make out with them. So it was like a moot point. Anyway, and then he's apologizing to West and like, sir, Jesse Solomon, you do not need to apologize to West. You don't have to because you know what, you've actually been a gentleman compared to that demon. And so you should apologize for anything for nothing. Working me all up. Working me all up. Anyway, let's take a break here because I then want to talk about this opera ski event, which I think was a voking opera ski that Bravo one season wonder that unfortunately never went on more than one season. And so I just would like to recognize the fact that they I believe are giving a nice nice little nod to opera ski. And so I am sort of tired of the theme parties, but I'm happy that we're somebody on the network said the words opera ski. I think Sierra said it. She's like, yeah, we're doing an opera ski theme. And I thought, yep, thank you, Sierra. Thank you for evoking the name opera ski. Okay, let's take a break here. We'll be right back. This is an ad by better help. Did I talk too much? I should have handled that better. Why can't I just let it go? Why did I do that? I wish I would have stopped. Thank you so much. Take a breath. You're not alone. I kind of want a Sabrina confessional. Does any, do you know what I'm saying? Like we haven't gotten us, we got a Derek confessional, didn't we? I want a Sabrina confessional cause she seems quirky. And even when she entered the house, she like ran her ass to Sierra and she's like, Oh my God, queen. And she gave her a big kiss on the mouth. And that would be a lot for anyone to handle. Like if somebody entered a room and just like immediately ran to me and kissed me on the lips and was like, Hey, queen, it would just be a lot for me. Like Sabrina's a lot, but I'm feeling like it's in a fun, quirky way now. And so I would like to just see like, I want, I want to see, I want to see, cause I feel like there's a lot of weirdness between her and Ben. And then every time they show her on screen, she's like being like so up everybody's ass, you know, like even, she saw Jesse, maybe it's like, Jesse, Jesse. And then they call it Sierra queen. Like that's how she enters a room. I'm like, Sabrina, let's lower it down a few natures, but maybe I need a confessional, like get to know who this person is. So like, what did it have killed them to put her in a professional? I mean, maybe they didn't want to pay her rate or something, but it's like, let me get to know Sabrina a little bit because everything I'm seeing, I'm like, that seems like maybe it'd be a good reality TV star. Like it's a little, it's a little crazy in a way that is like, that could be like three more seasons of content for me to enjoy as an audience member. If what I'm seeing is accurate, do you know what I'm saying? Like, so let's mic her up next season and like get her in a professional because I'm seeing some weirdness with Sabrina that like could be a long-term relationship that we have that at times might be infuriating, but also times would bring us great content. And so please mic her up next season. And but what if her and Ben still together? I don't follow them on social media. Does anyone know? Maybe I could look that up. I'm sure, but I probably won't. Moving on. KJ is really anxious about the show wrapping up and Mia is not sure about what she's going to do for the holidays. And it's so nice. KJ is like, we'll come to the holidays with my family, my mom's coming or something like that. I gotta say, Summerhouse did a good job at the additions of Mia and KJ and Bailey. It doesn't always happen, especially adding so many new cast members. And yes, did we have to edit out one or two of them from the full season? We did. Unfortunately for Levi, they edited her out. But when it comes to like, Mia is such a great addition. She feels like she gets in the mix. And I was really worried about her having a boyfriend that's like off camera. But but I feel like she she does a good job, even though she's got the boyfriend off camera, that's like, she still gets in the mix with everyone and seems like a good sounding board. And she seems also just like very, she's presenting her own story stuff, but then also does a good job of like getting into other people's storylines without being like overbearing, especially with the vets on the show. She seems to have developed a good relationship with like Kyle and Lindsay and Amanda. And obviously she came in with Sierra. But for those people, they've already been on the show for so long, that a new person coming in and getting involved in their mess might seem like, Oh, girl, you don't know us. But instead, at me, it feels like she's just flawlessly getting involved with them. And the same with KJ. And KJ is really sweet. And I feel like he's developed a good relationship with the other people in the house, including the vets, not just the newbies. And then Bailey, I think she's done a good job of like the relationship with Carl has been a thing and making out with everybody who wants to. And she said this episode, she's like, I want to make out with the rest of the house. And I'm like, you know what, you guys are doing a good job. And then Dara, who wasn't cast in the show, she came in and developed a relationship with KJ. And Sabrina, like I said, a few minutes ago, it's like she seems nuts. And I want to get to know a little bit more about that. So that's a pretty good for thinking about the past seasons of Summer House when they've had some people come in. Like people like Lexi and her mom and sister, like that was tough to watch. I'm sorry to even say they were a lot, they were a lot for me. I hate to say it, but they were a lot for me. I couldn't, if it was member Lexi, do you guys know how I'm talking about the one with the lip liner? She's seems like a lovely gal. And I'm not trying to, I'm sure she's a lovely gal. That with her and the mom and the sister, there was just something a lot for me to take in with all of that. And it wasn't in like a fun quirky way. It was in like a, I don't need to see that kind of way. Do you know what I mean? Okay, so then Lindsay, Jesse and West sit and talk and Lindsay brings up Sierra loving West. And oh, this actually, this is goes back to my earlier point. Jesse brought some food. He's like, I brought everyone some potatoes or whatever he has two plates of food he answers the room with. And I guess didn't bring any proper silverware or eatery because he just gives West this plate of food of potatoes, it seems, with a knife. And so West is just eating potatoes or something with a knife. It was like very, I don't even know what they were talking about West and Sierra. And I'm like, I don't even know what the fuck you're saying, because I'm so focused on you eating the potato with the knife. Like it was like he was using it as a fork. I would have rather him just used his hands. Is that wrong? I just think it was, I don't know. It just something felt too, it almost felt like AI, like, you know, they see these AI videos and it's like someone's got 12 fingers on their hands or something. And it's like, you're like, that's a little off in none of the AI videos. I've not seen one where it doesn't feel uncanny valley and gross and weird. And that's kind of how I felt watching West eat with the knife. It was like, is this even real right now? Because why is a human eating with just a potato with a knife like that? It was very something about it felt very unsettling to me. And I, it was unsettling. But Lindsay sort of stirring it up and West says he's depressed that they weren't him and Sierra weren't friends for those two summers. He says he understands Sierra was doing self protection. And it's a lot to process. And Lindsay says to West, you're hard to hate. And I was like, actually, I think we all figured it out quite well after the season wrap. Ladies, am I right? I feel like the audience has figured out how to hate that man. I wonder how his reunion performance will be. I don't know. In that picture that Bravo released where it's like the cast photo of their reunion looks, he looks like he's just in hell. Like he looks so miserable. And I'm curious how that whole I can't wait for the reunion. I don't know. There's been a lot. It's been a lot. I think the reason I'm getting tired of summer house is just because of the outside. I feel like every day there's a new story with it. And it's kind of hard to keep up, isn't it? Like I'm pretty in the mix with all like I keep up with Bravo stuff. And when there's a Bravo newsletter, you better believe my phone is going off left, right and center. People, I'm getting tech saying, do you see this? Do you see this people are sending me radar online links, people are sending me people social media accounts. And it's a full time job just getting tech sometimes about Bravo updates. And now more than ever with all this summer house stuff coming out where it's like, I, I'm having trouble keeping up. And people are literally like sending me direct links to these things that are going on. And it's a lot. It's a lot. This is what we do best, though. This is why people can't gosh, I could go on a whole, I could go, I could do a whole monologue right now about people, you know how people say like, Oh, Bravo's so done or the house wives are so done. And this is why even with something like Beverly Hills, which I thought was trashed this season, it's like, sometimes we have to sit through the trash. Sometimes we have to sit through the really bad, boring flop ass seasons. Because on the other side of that, like these scandals and things happen that feed us for a while. And so I don't think anybody should ever give up on Bravo. Like I don't think I don't think anybody should ever turn off these shows. And fortunately, I think we got to keep up with them. Even last season, Southern Charm, I thought for sure I was like, I'm done with Southern Charm. I thought I'm done. I've seen all I needed to see. And then halfway through the season, I got back on board and I watched them. And I thought, I'm glad I didn't give up completely. And it's like, there might be another scandal in a couple years on Southern Charm that I'm going to need to keep up with. And so if I give up now, then I'm not going to enjoy the fruits of the labor in two years from now when some big scandal happens. And so it's important to keep up with the Bravo shows, even when you hate them and they make you miserable, and they're boring and flops, it's important. It's important work that we all do. What we all do, what we all do when we sit in front of our TV and plop down in front of it to judge all of these people on it. I think that's important work. And somebody should say it. And so now here I am saying it. And I'm proud to be a Bravo watcher. What's that song? I'm proud to be American. I'm actually proud to be a Bravo watcher. Okay, so then everybody gets ready for this party. In the city cast starts arriving. We see Andrea and Lexi, his wife. Lindsay's got camel toe. Bailey's like, I could draw a picture of your vagina right now. I see it so well. Amanda's wearing an inflatable. I hate the costumes. I wish they would just dress nice. It could still be in theme. I just don't want to... Everyone, I don't know. I guess they're all in this igloo, frozen costumes or whatever. Jesse and Sierra talk. Sierra likes flirting with West. She tells Jesse and she says she sees a change in West and she's scared of being invested in him and then the summer ends and then they're not friends at all. And Jesse's like, I just don't want it to get weird again. And then that episode ends and obviously it's going to get weird after this whole scandal breaks between Amanda West and Sierra and Kyle and the rest of them. And next week's the finale. Lindsay and Carl have a sit down. Sierra kisses West. Whoa, seeing that in the preview for next week where their tongue is in. Then we have Amanda and Kyle and then it leads into in the city. And next week, so I guess we're going to have to do, I guess on next week's recap, we're going to do summer house and maybe we'll combine summer house and in the city. We're going to have to combine them. And I normally only like to cover two shows at a time, but we're going to have to maybe cover summer house and in the city in tandem because they're pretty much the same show, right? Although we're going to have to get to know all those new people. That's going to be tough. It's tough to get to know new people, but we're going to do it. We're going to do it because that's the work of a Bravo watcher that I was just talking about. You got a clock in to work and watch these shows. There were also a bunch of other announcements at the NBC up front about Bravo. I'm trying to think of what else we got next gen coming in a couple months. We got Orange County housewives is wrapped filming in their coming this summer. Rhode Island was renewed for a second season. And then what else? There was no word on the Vanderpump rules reboot or ladies of London or the real houses of Miami. And I'm like, you know what? Bravo needs to get all those people back in front of the red light because I need them to get to work. It seems like nobody wants to work these days. I can't live a life where the real house of Miami is off the air. So you better figure that the fuck out. Bravo. You hear me? You hear me? I don't care if nobody, I don't care if the ratings are in the gutter. I need it for me. So just do it for me. And I hate to make it be selfish. I don't want to be selfish. But my actual mental health relies on this on the real house of Miami getting picked up for another season. And so just think about that next time you try to put one of these shows on pause. Bravo. Because I can't take much more of this. Okay, what else is happening? Oh, the Ultimate Girls Trip, the 20th anniversary show. I don't know what they're calling it. It's like all the housewives from all the cities, they're doing like a road trip and there are a bunch of people appearing. That's going to be coming in August, which I've heard is really great. I've heard like behind the scenes people saying it's like that's really special. And then I'm sure I'm missing other announcements. I don't know. I guess the other announcements were sort of floppy. I love you so much for listening and tune in later this week for the Valley Recap. Again, watch it. It's a super size episode. I think at least in my opinion, I don't want to overhype it because then people are going to be like, it wasn't that good, you know, I don't want to, I don't want to be overhyping something. But to me, it was the best episode so far this season. Nothing else. I love you all so much for listening. I'm catching up on hacks. Are you guys watching hacks? I tried to save all the episodes. My goal with hacks was I was like, I'm not, I love that show by the way. But I was like, I'm not going to watch any of it because I always feel like the episodes are kind of short. They're like 30 minutes. And I didn't want to do one a week because that makes me mad because you watch one and then you're like, oh, I gotta wait till next week. So I tried to save them all. So I've been binging. I think there's like seven episodes out or eight or something like that. And I've been having the best time at night because I put the baby down and then I get to go upstairs. And it's the first time where it's the first time in a while where I've had something other than I liked the comeback season three, but I had finished that. But other than that, there hasn't been a lot of shows that at night, I put the baby down and think like, oh, I can't wait to go curl up in the bed and watch her binge this new show. Because the Bravo stuff I watch, I'm taking notes and all that kind of stuff. But hacks, it was like so nice. And I think this season is so fantastic. It's so phenomenal. Gene Smart, Hannah Einbinder, and everybody on the show is so funny. And there's like a lot of like laugh out loud moments. And I don't laugh out loud a lot at these shows. And so it's nice if you're, if you're looking for something funny and you never watch hacks, go watch this. Good. It's good. Okay. Thank you all so much for listening. I also just put a Sex and the City recap up on the Patreon page. So I do one Sex and the City recap per month. And it's $4 more per month. So if you go to patreon.com slash everything iconic, you donate $4 or more per month, you get access to those bonus episodes, or you can buy them individually for I think maybe, I know, 10 bucks or something if you want to check them out. But I just posted a new one up on the Patreon page. And I want to thank everyone for the support over there just one a month. But more importantly, that money helps to support the show. You can also get my books, wherever books are sold. I just turn in my next book. So that'll be out not till June of next year, I believe, or something like that. But I'll keep you all posted when I get more information about that. But I have been hard at work on that draft, the first draft of that book. And then, you know, we'll be editing and all that kind of stuff for a while. But it's exciting. I can't wait for you. It's still a while away, but I can't wait for you guys to read it because I'm really proud of that. But anyway, moving on. Love you all. Stay safe and sane. And bye bye.
