Escalation in the Strait of Hormuz. Lisa Brady, Fox News. A day after President Trump extended a ceasefire, Iran fires on several cargo ships. Three ships were fired at and two seized, mostly by Iran's Revolutionary Guard. They claim the vessels did not have proper permission. This escalation comes as the U.S. Navy maintains its own blockade of ships coming from or going to Iranian ports, including using the strait. The broader operation has seized two Iranian ships in recent days. Fox's Greg Palkot in Tel Aviv. Iran has demanded the U.S. blockade end, and in the meantime has not yet committed to a second round of peace talks in Pakistan. A White House official says the ceasefire extension could last for several days. President Trump says mediator Pakistan requested the extension, allowing time for Iranian officials to unify behind a counterproposal. Democrats are celebrating a win in Virginia where voters narrowly approved letting state lawmakers draw new congressional maps ahead of the midterms Donald Trump and Republicans launched this gerrymandering war and we made clear as Democrats that we going to finish it House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries says they'll respond again if more Republican states redistrict and he does not think an ongoing court challenge in Virginia will succeed. The new map is expected to take Republicans down from five congressional districts to one. We heard from the chair of the National Republican Congressional Committee who wrote, Democrats can't redraw reality. This close margin reinforces that Virginia is a purple state that shouldn't be represented by a severe partisan gerrymander. Fox's Mark Meredith in Alexandria. The U.S. Supreme Court siding with Michigan in a lawsuit aiming to shut down a section of aging pipeline under a Great Lakes channel. The justices ruling unanimously the state's lawsuit can stay in state court because the energy company waited too long to try to move it to federal court. America's listening to Fox News.
