After the big game, like most people, I kept thinking about the commercials, and there was one that stayed with me. It was from the Blue Square Alliance Against Hate, and it wasn't loud or flashy. It showed a Jewish kid being targeted at school and another student who chose not to ignore it. As someone who is Jewish, that moment felt very real to me. Not dramatic, just familiar. And what struck me was how clearly it showed that hate doesn't always announce itself, but the impact is still huge. If you saw the Blue Square spot during the big game, it's worth thinking about, and if you want to show support, sharing the Blue Square is one small way to do that. What's up, everyone? I'm AgoVodem. My next guest, it's Will Ferrell. Woo! Woo! Woo! Woo! My dad gave me the best advice ever. He goes, just give it a shot, but if you ever reach a point where you're banging your head against the wall and it doesn't feel fun anymore, it's okay to quit. If you saw it written down, it would not be an inspiration. It would not be on a calendar of, you know, the cat just hanging there. Yeah, it would not be... Right, it wouldn't be that. There's a lot of luck. Listen to ThanksDad on the iHeartRadioApp, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcasts. It is Mojo in the morning. This is just a quick topic here, but Shannon wants to call out. Are you sure you want to call out anybody after the topic that we just did? Well, to be fair, I don't really, I don't know this person. Oh, okay. Not a family member or a friend or anything like that. I'm making sure it's not like, you know, somebody that we... But Shannon cannot believe that this person doesn't know how to do this. So over the weekend, Sunday night, I went to, you guys, it was like, it was the 1980s again. Skate World in Troy. It was so much like an old school roller skating rink. You can rollerblade, you can bring your... I brought my own light up roller blades. It was so fun. And we went, I went with my sister, Jacqueline, and my brother-in-law, and we took my nieces to go roller skating. So much fun. Well, I met a girl that my sister knows because it was part of one of the girls' schools. It was like an event for their school. She was kind of sitting on the side of the rink. And my sister was like, oh my God, go rent some roller blades, even if you didn't bring them and call it so, so, so fun. And she's like, oh no, I don't know how to rollerblade. And she's probably like mid-30s. And I'm thinking, okay, not everybody learns how to rollerblade fine. Well, then she said, I also don't know how to ride a bike. I never learned how to ride a bike. 36 years old, does not know how to ride a bike. That floored me. And my sister said, how did you, did you not ride a bike when you were younger? And she said, I grew up in a really small town. We just walked everywhere. I never learned how to ride a bike. This comes, by the way, this judgment comes from the woman who didn't know how to swim. I still. Oh, you don't? Yeah, I am. But I feel like that's coming. I got that one. That's not uncommon. Riding a bike doesn't every kid learn how to ride a bike. I'm gonna say this to you. I don't think Josiah knows how to ride a bike. Really? Really? That's one of the things that, like, I get teary-eyed about that because I'm really mad at myself and not like teaching him how to. It's not too late. I know, but it's like, what is he going to ride a bike for? Like, you don't ride a bike. You don't ride a bike to be 36 and say he doesn't know how. It's fun. He doesn't care. It's exercise. I feel like nowadays a lot of kids ride scooters. They learn how to do scooter instead of do a bike. Slow roll is kind of like, when the last time you rode a bike, Mojo? I will. Exactly. I bought one. I have a track bike. You have one. It's got two flat tires because it has an, but I went through, remember? I went through the period where I was out. You needed to find a hobby. You want to see me on a bike? No. I got a peloton. He had one of those, too. Hold on a second. I got a picture here. I got me on a bicycle. I have a picture. Let's see here. You and Chelsea were to ride tandem. Who would be in the front and who would be in the back? I want to ride my bike. It would be like popping a wheelie if Mojo is in a big frame. Okay. Hold on a second. Hold on. Where's my picture of me on a bike? I know I got it on here. I'm not a roller blade either though. Okay. Let me tell you something. I ordered a pair of roller blades for Lucy and Smith off of Amazon like two summers ago, and then I ordered a pair for myself because it's so freaking fun. You can, you'll learn in 10 minutes. Bruh, if we go to the roller ring right now, I'm around the edges. It's so fun. I'm going to, I got one speed. Wait. I won't fall, but I can't. I have a railing around the edges at Skate World and it's, it's carpeted. The walls are all carpeted. Because there's a difference between, they have the four wheels. Roller skates or roller blades. I think roller blading is way easier. Me too. Okay. I've never tried roller blades. Oh. Like I only, like feel like you know skates? I used to be at Northland all the time. I mean, I got one speed in skates. I mean, I want to get skates. I feel like you would love roller, mine have light up wheels. I don't think rollerblading is for me. I mean, it looks like. White girl, 80s, me. Let me tell you something. There were a, there were a bunch of guys there, black guys who were on roller skates and they can skate. I'm telling you, it looks amazing. So it's not a white people thing. No, the roller blades are the white ones. Okay. I was going to say because they all had skates. Yeah. I just want you. I want to learn how to skate. Mojo still hasn't found himself on a bike. No, I've been on a bike. I know I've been on a bike. It's taking you too long to find a bike. He's trying to AI it really quick. No, no. No, no. I had the picture and then all of a sudden it went away when I was Googling. I got Luke on a bike. Can I tell you one thing I would really like to learn how to do that I can't do and I don't know if you guys can do. I want to be able to do a stand up board before I die. What's a stand up board? Like those paddle board things that are like, you stand up and do it. Oh, water. You should know how to do that. I, well, I, how why? Cause I live on a lake. I should know how to do it. Yeah. Because you could go out. You should know how to swim. I'm married to a guy that owns a swim school. And look, and look what happened there. See, it's cause I couldn't swim. Anybody who wants to know why we got divorced, that's why. Can I know, can I tell you something though? I, um, it bothers me that Chelsea, uh, in the boys will go on them and I'm like, I'm on the, on the, guys, it's me. Oh, she's so sure. When, when your entire family knows how to do something and that this is me every vacation with the swimming thing, because I am so terrified of deep water. So even when we were in Mexico two weeks ago, whatever it was, my family trolls me. My kids are stellar competition swimmers. They, I am so scared to get in that water. It takes everything in me. And it sucks. But that's the, I do that because I want to show my kids that I'm brave. I like, I am. Pissing my pants. Excuse me. Water or you don't, you're scared cause you don't know how to stay afloat. I'm scared that I'm going to drown. Yeah. Like it's actually a really serious fear. That's not a bad fear. At least with a bicycle, you just fall on the ground and skin your knee with a, that you die in the water. What's up, Gail? How you doing? Hi, good morning. You're Port-a-Potty Princess. How are you? What's happening in there? What's going on? So we're literally, we're just having this conversation where my 16 year old, I was 16 and an 18 year old and my 16 year old has tried numerous swimmers. He learned how to ride a bicycle. He cannot get the whole balancing part down. And we were just having this conversation the other day. He's like, mom, I refuse to even try because no, thank you. It hurts. And I'm like, Bobby, it's no big deal. It's not that hard. I think everybody should learn how to ride a bicycle. Really? You, like that you think that's a must that you should learn? Like that's something that you learn. Like when you're tying your shoes, you should learn. Yeah. I could see that. Like I could think that there's certain things like what happens if Josiah has a bunch of his buddies all hanging out and they're all like, Hey, let's go bicycle up to the 7-Eleven and Josiah's got to go, can I call an Uber? What do you want to do? I guess you'd be there before them. I think you should teach that. I think that's something. No, yeah. Absolutely. I'm not even mad at that. I'm going to tell you the greatest dad story ever. I'm not even mad at that. I'm not even mad at that. I'm not even mad at that. I'm going to tell you the greatest dad story ever. Let me hear it. I did it with all three of my boys. Holding the back of their bicycle, walking down the street, walking down the street and then letting go and they're riding on their own. Only one time was a bad thing. And they're riding on their own realizing they're riding on their own. The bad one time bad thing was Jacob. He turned to look at me and goes, Dad, this is cool. And I'm like way down the street and he goes, Oh, it falls. You got to save focus, Peter. You don't know how to stop. You get off that boat. Let the butterflies. Come out of the cocoon. We learned how to ride this summer. Hey, what's going on? Jason, you know, oh, he hung up the phone. Let's go to Maria. Maria, what's going on, Maria? Hi. I'm like Shannon. I'm afraid to even try to learn because when I was younger, somebody had pushed me into a pool and I almost drowned. I swear to God, I almost drowned. Oh my God. That's awful. You almost drowned, Shannon? So I had a similar story where I was at the wave pool at Erie Metro Park and I got somehow caught in the deep end when that siren went off at the waves were going to start the waves and I went under and I'll never forget this, a lady in a black and white bathing suit ended up pulling me out, but I was underwater for a long time. I can still see that in my brain and that's what scares me. I was playing soccer. I think I was out on Livonia this time. We were trash, but I was kind of good. So we didn't even win the game, but it was like our last game. It took us to like a water park. I'm like, all right, whatever. These two homies on the team, it was like a giant slide in like 24 foot deep water. I don't know how to swim. They like, you can just jump on the side. I'm like, show me how to do it first. So one go down, he slide down, he jump on the side. The other one go down slide, jump on the side. I go down, I can't jump on the side. All of a sudden, all I remember is I was going down like with my hands out like Jesus, I was going down. And this man walked across. He was like, I think he was like, I see him drowning. He jumped in there and saved me. He like laid me out. I wasn't like, I didn't have, he didn't do CPR, but he laid me on the ground. I was so scared. I still by the phone all summer long, just praying they ain't calling my mama and say, I'm drowning. See those memories do not leave you at all. Are you ready? Look at that guy. Look at that guy. With a tan. This needs to be posted. It's a piece of land right now. I don't know, but I got flip flops. We posted on the back. Pull the picture back. Pull the picture back. That's too good. I see you all here. I got it right there. Your legs. Look at this. Oh, I've got newer ones than me. Like a circus. Like a circus. You know what? It sucks to be bored. But when I get on my phone and play real casino games on spin quest.com, the time flies by that two hour wait at the DMV seems like 10 minutes.
