Happy birthday, mom. My mom turned 70. Actually, her birthday was on St. Patrick's Day. So, yeah, it's a big birthday for her. My youngest sister, Jacqueline, and I are taking her away for the weekend. Yeah, I'm looking forward to it. So, this is a story because ever since my mom, when my mom was going to turn 60, Anna, so 10 years ago, her dream was to take our entire family. So, myself, my sisters, Lucy, you know, was born at the time to travel to Italy where my family's from. So, I'm Italian. I have a ton of family that still lives in Italy. And that was, yeah, that was like her dream was to see where my grandparents grew up and meet our family members that still live there. Well, life happens and my sister ended up having a wedding that year so it didn't happen. Then I got pregnant. Then I got divorced. Then my sister got pregnant. Then my mom got divorced. Then I got married. Then my sister got pregnant again. So, her 60th birthday dream trip just never ended up happening. And so, when we were talking about her 70th birthday last year, she was like, oh, I would still, that's like my dream to do this trip to Italy. You're taking her to Italy? Heck no. So, my, I feel bad saying it that way, but it's like, and I also hate saying this, that life is so crazy busy right now with our little kids and our own schedules. And everybody can't take all of this vacation time. Like, if you're going to Italy, you're taking some days off of work in school and that just can't happen right now. And my sister's youngest Navy, if you follow me on Instagram, you know, she's like the love and joy of our life. But like, she's a lot of work right now because she's special needs. Plus, it's expensive. So, we are not going to Italy tomorrow, you know, we are going to Newport, Rhode Island, just a little different than Italy. So, my mom's like, we like put it in a card and she opens the card and I know she's thinking we wrote in there, we're going to Italy finally. We're doing this dream trip and she's like Newport, Rhode Island. How did you all end there? My sister like found, saw on Instagram that this is like a really cute place to go. So, we're like, okay, we could do a long weekend. This will be fun. My mom will be into it. We like to shop and eat and whatever. That's like cute. It's not Italy. But did you not like say to yourself, okay, she's going to think if we're surprising her with this trip that she really wanted to go on, that it's going to make her feel like you're going to Italy? Like, when did you guys say it's Rhode Island? We didn't make it seem like we were doing Italy. We just stayed here. Did you bring up the last thing that she said where she said, hey, I want to take all you guys and stuff? Like, did you bring that like, I know you wanted to do this. No, we're hoping she forgets about it, which I know she won't. Now look, I will say 40 minutes away in Federal Hill, they got a little Italy. Do that. Kev, that's so funny. I did not know that. Here's a question. Have you ever expected that you were going to have a surprise played on you where somebody was going to do a surprise of something huge, like a trip or something like that, only to get Newport Rhode Island out of the deal? Newport Rhode Island is going to be really great. It's going to be great, guys. Has that ever happened to any of our listeners where you thought, oh God, they're going to get, I'm getting that ring this Christmas. I got Newport Rhode Island instead. One day, we will go to Italy. Sooner than later. And Rhode Island will be her favorite trip. Have you ever, did you guys ever think of like, okay, I know she wants to go to Italy, but maybe we'll take her to like New York or something like that. Really? And I would love to go. That's on my bucket list to see where my grandfather grew up, you know, in this little teeny tiny village in Calabria. But yeah. And I know people are probably in their cars, they'll take the trip. You don't know how much longer, all the things. I get that. But everything does have to kind of fill mine. I'm telling you, don't sleep on Newport Rhode Island. It offers a rich blend of Italian culture. Are you watching TV? No, it has historic architecture. We are going to an Italian restaurant called Mama Luisa. So she'll get her little taste of their sailboats. I love it. I love it. I do think that this is wild to say, but I do think that you do have to realize that time sometimes is a little fleeting, but you know, let's maybe plan another trip for next year or something. What do you think? It actually was comical. All of the things happened right before she turned 60, like divorces, babies, moves, all of these things. And it just, every year, it was like, okay, this year, Jack is having a baby. When you go to Italy, would you want to bring the kids and everything? So you want the whole family to go? That's her dream. How about you guys all chip in and just send her there with like a friend? But that's not what she wants. She wants it to be a family thing, which I get. I understand that. Mama Mia. Heather texted in and she said, I got an idea for you, Shannon. Take her to Epcot. They have Italy right there. You could take, that's a great idea. We're going to drink around the world. Have you ever done drink around a world? I have not done that. Joe says that that is the greatest of anything that he does when he goes down and does these Disney vacation shows is the drink around the world at Epcot. Has he made it around the world? Oh, he actually has. Actually, Jed has not. Really? I would think Jed would be able to. No, no. Jed, for some reason, doesn't take a sip around the world. This is Chelsea Handler from Dear Chelsea. After the big game, like most people, I kept thinking about the commercials and there was one that stayed with me. It was from the Blue Square Alliance Against Hate and it wasn't loud or flashy. It showed a Jewish kid being targeted at school and another student who chose not to ignore it. As someone who is Jewish, that moment felt very real to me. Not dramatic, just familiar.
