So those of you who have religiously, appropriately performed Kate, I'm sorry, crate training on your puppy. Know what I look like this morning. Thank God there is no video today. I've got two cameras facing me, they better be off. Or somebody's head will be off. It was a nightmare and I thought, I've never crate trained. I mean, poodles don't need that. You tell them, don't poop over there. Okay, that's it. I mean, seriously, they're so smart and prissy. If I watch a poodle walk, they're very prissy. Okay. I don't know what he is. I sent in, he's some kind of shepherd of some ilk I sent in for the DNA, but there I am. I was told, this is what you need to do. And you introduce him to the crate. He went right in. He's a very confident little dog. And I threw some treats in there and then he came out and he went in now. And then that night last night, I put him in. Got a crate, good price from Amazon, covered it up a bit and went to bed. Yeah, no. He screamed like he was being eviscerated. And I felt awful, but they warn you about that. He's doing that. So you'll come and rescue him. Don't. But he was screaming as though his life was ending. It was actually scary. Sometimes he sounded like a wolf howling. Other times a baby screaming. I took some video of it, sent it to some of my friends who told me this is a great idea. And then three or four times during the night I had to get up, get him out of there, come out, pee, finally at three o'clock. See, three o'clock seems to be the poop time. These are important things to notice. So what happened, I got to the point where I thought, you know, I really, I'm not getting any sleep. I had the hand surgery. It's hurting. I cannot do this. This is ridiculous. And then it dawned on me. Something so simple. It works on air. I thought I would try what works on the radio. When people are going on pretending they don't hear me using their name. I go, shh. And amazingly they hush up. Shh. The loudest shh I could. Shh. It was a world class Olympic shh. He stopped screaming. And I thought, you're kidding me. Started up again. Shh. Stopped. That was it. For the rest of the night. A little bit of as he rolled over or something. But you know, I was so shell shocked from the whole thing. I felt, you know, this almost feels like abuse. And that's because dogs are very manipulative. They know if they scream bloody murder, you'll come get them. Yeah, they're very manipulative. And I know I'm a psychotherapist and I should know that. But you know, it's a little cute puppy and I felt bad. He was seriously not happy. Okay, so I took him out. Every time I took him out, I gave him love. Put him back in. Until I did the shh. So I'm feeling a little safer to try to get some sleep tonight, although I have to get up to take him out. I still have to do that because he's not ready to hold it in all night. But shh. Worked. So I'm offering that for some of you who are going through hell doing the same thing. Shh. Now I must admit they have a little preview of shh. Because sometimes Lilybug and he, when they start playing, she starts barking very loud. And I go, Lily, shh. So he already knew what that meant. He's such a smart dog. Okay, so this morning, I got up, took him out, yet another pee, brought him back upstairs, sat on the floor next to the crate, threw one of his little stuffed animals in there. He prances in, bites on the stuffed animal and lies down. Oh, tell me about how abused he feels, how traumatized he is. They are manipulative little creatures. But I'm sturdy. I was not going to give in. I want to have a good relationship with him forever. And we're not going to unless he's well trained, by the way. He already sits on command. I mean, he's, before I get to that, of this, he's down. This is a smarty patootie. So I'm glad there's no video because I look like what the cat refused to drag in. However, I did a mild workout today, couldn't do a serious one, one, I'm tired to my hand hurts from the surgery. So we did a lot of different things. Bridges up, squats. I can do squats all day. All kinds of interesting stuff. He was very creative. So here I am. And I want to talk to you and help you. Just why I'm here. I don't want to tell you how many people said, oh, why don't you take a day off? I feel a need to talk to you folks and help you with your problems. Okay. I took a Tylenol with two ibuprofen and the hand is good right now. That stuff is magic. Yeah. And it doesn't hang you over. All right. Line number 1-800-375-2872.
