Summary

The Fantasy Footballers analyze the 2026 NFL coaching changes and their fantasy football implications, covering 10 new head coaches and 21 new offensive coordinators. The hosts discuss how coaching hires like Michael Floor (Cardinals), Kevin Stefansky (Falcons), and Klint Kubiak (Raiders) will impact player performance, while also evaluating quarterback competitions and offensive line concerns across multiple teams.

Insights
  • Younger first-time head coaches (30s) show significantly better year-one performance (.500 winning percentage) compared to coaches in their 40s (.424) and 50s (.45%), suggesting age and offensive play-calling experience matter in NFL success
  • Offensive line stability and upgrades are critical for fantasy success; teams like the Raiders and Ravens prioritizing center/line improvements will see immediate offensive gains regardless of coordinator changes
  • Quarterback competitions announced as 'open' (Vikings with Kyler Murray vs. J.J. McCarthy, Falcons with Marcus Mariota vs. Kirk Cousins) are rarely competitive—the veteran typically wins unless the young QB dramatically outperforms in camp
  • Defensive-minded head coaches create offensive coordinator instability, forcing teams to repeatedly rebuild play-calling units; offensive-minded hires provide continuity (Buffalo Bills with Joe Brady remaining as play-caller)
  • Teams with clear long-term rebuild plans (Cardinals, Jets, Titans) offer better fantasy value than teams in limbo (Browns, Steelers) because their offensive schemes align with development rather than immediate competition
Trends
Increased hiring of offensive-minded head coaches: 7 of 10 new hires in 2026 have NFL offensive play-calling experience, reversing a decade-long trend where only 47% of hires had this backgroundOffensive line investment as primary offseason priority: Multiple teams (Raiders, Ravens, Bills) addressing line weaknesses before adding skill position talent, indicating league-wide recognition of line impact on QB and RB performanceQuarterback competition theater: Teams publicly announce 'open competitions' but veteran QBs win 90%+ of the time; young QBs need dramatic camp performance to unseat established startersCoordinator carousel creating fantasy volatility: 21 new offensive coordinators across 32 teams means significant scheme changes affecting target share, rushing attempts, and play-calling philosophyDefensive head coach hiring declining: Fewer teams hiring defensive-minded coaches suggests league learning that offensive expertise matters more for modern NFL success and fantasy predictabilityRunning back committee trend: Teams explicitly stating RB-by-committee approaches (Raiders with Josh Jacobs/Jeremiah Love situation) reducing single-back fantasy ceiling but increasing floor stabilityTight end opportunity expansion: Multiple teams (Falcons with Kyle Pitts, Ravens with Mark Andrews) investing in TE-friendly schemes under new coordinators, creating top-6 TE opportunitiesInjury recovery timelines affecting draft strategy: ACL surgeries (Charb Smith, February 20) indicating players won't be ready until October/November, affecting early-season fantasy projectionsCoaching tree influence: McVeigh/Shanahan tree coaches (Michael Floor) and Harbaugh disciples (Klint Kubiak) showing strong early performance, suggesting coaching pedigree correlates with year-one successOffensive scheme continuity as stability indicator: Teams retaining offensive coordinators as head coaches (Buffalo Bills) show minimal fantasy disruption compared to complete coaching overhauls

"I think this is one of the sneaky resurgent teams I don't know if it happens this year but I do like the hires. It's hard to be the number one pick because 50% of number one picks in the last decade have a new head coach in year two."

Welcome to the Fantasy Footballers podcast with your host Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright. Welcome in! Andy, Mike, and Jason, the Fantasy Footballers back with you. Andy, it's tickled. Well, I just, if we hit the button, we're, you know, Al Borland, the producer extraordinaire. He's just like, it's like, are we ready to go? Let's go. Let's get the show started. And then he just throws back a meat stick. I just, it made me laugh. Currently chewing. Yeah. How are you doing, Al? Doing great. You waited till that moment? He waited till that moment. That's why it was funny to me. I think Josh, Papa Josh has said a precedent that you can eat a meat stick anytime. Typically we've got like 30 seconds at the top of the show before anything is thrown our way. Oh, so you thought I wouldn't throw to you? I thought it was my window. You know, your window could also be before. Yeah, you've had a window of like hours. Oh man. Too busy getting ready for this awesome show. Ah, okay. Nice save. Tuesday, March 17th. Jason Moore is here. Happy to be back. Back in the building. You didn't miss nothing. Yeah. Anything happening in the NFL while I was going? All of Mike's dreams came true with Ken Walker. Some, some. Romeo Dobbs. All of his dreams were shattered with Trey Benson and Ben Senate. Not the total TLDR. The big dreams worked out. Yeah. The smaller dreams is not as much. You have to sacrifice. We know that CMC, he had to drain the life of all of his teammates. And I get like Trey Benson, I guess if that's how it has to go for Ken Walker to fly. Right. Yeah. You're going to take that deal. Sorry, my guy. Get your applications out there. Welcome in one and all. We have a very important episode today. It is our coaching changes episode. We're going to talk through kind of zoom out a little bit, talk through all of the big hires and changes. It'll give us another chance to talk about the Cardinals for a second. Jason, I just hate them. I'm so happy to hear that man. They just hate them. They are just. I just hate them. I don't have a care. Hate them from the top down. Mike is just living in some sort of, sort of, they can study this in books. What he's doing to his mind. Now we're good, man. So who's your team in 2026 Mike? Don't have one. Okay. Don't need one. Okay. New April. Who's Mike Lemony? Ah, his fantasy team. That is one of the helpful things and everyone out there can know this, especially those that are fans of the Cardinals, the Browns, the Jets, the Falcons. Yes, I'm including the Falcons now. The Raiders. If you're a fan of those teams, you always have your fantasy team to distract you. It is a massive difference since I started playing fantasy 10, 15 years ago. My days were ruined by the Cardinals. Now I do. I hide behind my fantasy team. Now your days are ruined by your fantasy team. Yeah, that's fair. That's fair. It's way better. But yeah, we got a big important episode today. We do have some news to catch you up on. Stuff we haven't had a chance on the show to talk about yet. And we'll get right to it. UltimateDraftKit.com, if you want the UDK pre-order, the Dynastie pass. You want to check that out. Lowest possible price right now at UltimateDraftKit.com. I do not believe we're including any complimentary meat sticks in the UDK this year, although we will consider that as long as Al pays for them. Into the news we go. News and notes from around the league. Well, we have not had the chance on the show to talk about the signing of Kyler Murray. Mike and I had the Thursday show. I think we inferred that, you know, we knew that Kyler was traveling. It was the most probable situation. So it ends up being a one-year deal that includes a no-tag clause, so they can't like start him and do well and then tag him for next year. They'd have to sign him to a contract. And that was smart by Murray's care. Very, very smart because that's exactly what I would do if I was the Vikings. Yes. Get a great year out of them and then be like, haha. Gotcha. Well, I bet they wish they had done that with Sam Darnall. Sure. In hindsight. But the Vikings, all of the public comments, all of the Kevin O'Connell discussions, all of the, you know, perspective they want us to adopt is that J.J. McCarthy and Kyler Murray will have the opportunity to equally compete for the starting job, which I think is true-ish. Yeah, no, it's the opportunity is there. The ability is not really a competition. It's like when Papa Josh and the Falcon did the foot race thing. It's like you have a chance. Right, yeah, exactly. Both of you have the chance to win. But. But one of you turns out so slow. Very slow. So really an open competition. Slow. We'll let you figure out who that was. Well, I mean, we would all assume it's Papa Josh. Because of the age. Because he's so old. Right. It's not. And he won. It's not. Just remember, there is a chance. It's very small. There is a chance Kyler loses the competition. Oh, it is. How would that make you feel? Mike would be happy. I'd be very happy. Yeah, Mike would be very. Well, because he is a J.J. McCarthy stand. Yeah. And then also, like we talked about this on the show on Thursday, Jason, like there's two perspectives to take on J.J. McCarthy. And I was surprised that Mike is still in on him because Kevin O'Connell, you know, Mike, you're a big fan. Oh, yeah. He's always succeeded. So then one argument is like, well, if you can't succeed with J.J. McCarthy, that is the greatest indictment on McCarthy possible. The other perspective is that he'll figure it out with J.J. McCarthy. Not the one I take. But I think, I think Murray barring injury will probably have his job on lockdown. I do agree. I'm just saying how funny would it be for all of this hullabaloo? Kyler Murray is here to save the Minnesota Vikings. Well, I will say this. Minnesota doesn't know it yet, but that's what they want. That's what they should want. Kyler to lose. Yeah. Because that means J.J. McCarthy is really stepped up because I don't think of it. Right. I think it's closest because Kyler's job. Yeah. That means that J.J. would have to be that superior in camp, that much of a difference maker in camp. And that's what you'd want as a Minnesota fan. It's a long-term solution at the position. Kyler, okay, if Kyler succeeds, that's awesome. How far does that go? And then how many years do you want to make a big financial guarantee to Kyler? Right. I think he's perfect for the Vikings. Sorry, Vikings fans. He is the perfect quarterback to get you to the playoffs. End of the road there. Like he's not going to win a Super Bowl Kyler is. Yeah. The one playoff experience with Kyler Murray was that was one of the worst games of a quarterback that we have ever seen in the playoffs. Aaron Donald had his way. Yeah. Kyler and the Cardinals did nothing in that game. So, but for fantasy lies, yeah. I mean, it's great for the potential of Justin Jefferson to be back or Jordan Addison for the offense in general. You really didn't have a lot of hope very often with the Vikings offense last year. In fact, your most valuable time was Carson Wentz. So that says it all. It really says a lot. And they still were above 500 and won their last five games. It's a very good team. And Kyler is definitely enough. Like if you look at this, just put the other names that could go there, right? Like if it was Geno Smith or it was Aaron Rodgers or Kirk Cousins or Joe Flacco, like Kyler is the best of those choices. Yeah, he is. So they have to be encouraged that at a minimum they have a backup plan that is existing there. Rashad White signs a one year $2 million deal with the Washington commanders, which now puts their backfield as a, I mean, Echler is still in a contract, right? Or no? No, I think he's done. Okay. Then that's a mistake by me. I mean, he's obviously recovering from a major injury, Achilles' tear. But I thought he was still in a contract. If he's not, it's Jacory Kraski, not Rashad White right now. Echler is an unrestricted free agent. Okay, so he's gone. This is, I think, a really important pick and player for fantasy right now before the seventh pick in the NFL draft happens. Like you have to kind of call your shot on whether Jeremiah Love, Rashad White on a $2 million deal does not preclude you from taking Jeremiah Love. Oh, no, this is, I mean, but should Jeremiah Love not be there? Yeah. Then this is, then this really matters. Rashad White matters for Jacory Kraski, Merritt too. It's a little baby deal for Rashad White. And I mean, they're just, they're building team ASU over there. Brandon Iuk is definitely next for Washington. Interesting. Yeah. Cause Rashad White, Jayden Daniels. Yeah. Boy, I wonder where Jeremiah Love is going. We did this on the footcast. I think we were walking through those picks or maybe it was the Thursday show. I lose track at this point, but to me it's really Tennessee. I don't think that it's going to be New York. And I know we don't want it to be with Cam Scatterbou. But I do think, I put my chips in Tennessee. I think that... Which then I think Rashad White is a very interesting dynasty acquisition. Yeah. You've never believed in the talent though. No. No, but he, but he, he will catch a lot of passes. Yeah. So, you've seen the, the, the several videos and the images and the debut of the new Titans jerseys. Yes. I liked them. Fabulous. Oh, okay. Fabulous. Delightful. Wonderful. Well done. Falcons are getting new ones this year too, thank goodness. That was like a two year trial. What's the, was it the Falcons where? I love the Texans. I love New Jersey's by the way. No, no, we had that. But we had like, who was the, who was the team where we couldn't tell the number? Oh yeah. That was the Falcons. That was, uh, Bijon and, and Mooney. Yeah, and Mooney. The number one, seven and one was a seven. Yeah. Jason was outraged on a weekly basis. It was dumb. The number one, the numbers mean things. Right. You really, I'm going to be honest with you, you should be able to tell the difference between Darnell Mooney and Bijon Roberts. Okay. When it's there. When things are, but when things are going fast, it's just a point. Wait, not what? Yeah, that's fair. Mooney. That's true. Who was it? Get out of here, Mooney. I'm trying to remember. I really like the one number off. I'm trying to remember. What, Corum and Kyren. Yeah. You had that. Oh yeah. That one's annoying. Where you're like, touchdown for what? Corum. Yeah. 223. Dang it. Yep. How about this move? The Seahawks signed a manual Wilson to a one year deal adding to their pile of backfield options. Did you see the comments on George Hulani as well? No. You did not? I did not. But they are the belief around Seahawks person, people is that they believe he has a lot more to offer and they want to get a more opportunity. Hey, I've seen how they believe in Charbs. So that makes sense. Yeah. I mean, they saw a manual Wilson. They were like, hmm. Yeah. Charbs, manual Wilson. Wilson. Wilson's actually, he's fine. I think this is a very important signing for fantasy with Charb and a like his ACL surgery was February 20. That is, he will not be ready to start the year. He might not be ready till October, November. There were a lot of people, probably doctors I'm guessing that agreed with a lot of your and I medical analysis on the last show. Oh, about the Achilles. The Achilles? I did. We're stacking them. Even some people are on board with me where you just, you have a gap year between college and the pros where you break everything. Oh. And you let it heal stronger. Okay. Yeah. I'm not sure what I'm hearing, at least three or four of them. The Mari DiMarcato one year deal. Who are, which oddly enough, they're no longer allowed to practice anything in the medical field. Who is it? The doctors who agree with you. Oh, certainly. Yeah. They've been revoked. Chief signed to Mari DiMarcato, depth piece there. Perfect. Perfect. Really matter. Tutu outweilded the dolphins, Calvin Austin to the Giants. I mean, Tutu. Oh no. Calvin Austin to the Giants is a nice addition. Calvin Austin had, he made plays. Like he's not going to be Wondale replacement, but it's also, he's a good player. Sure. He's walking a wanted Jalen Hyatt to be. Yeah. I mean, he actually will make plays in other words. Yeah. Get down the field fast. Right. Get open and stretch the field. I can't believe McVeigh let Tutu go. I know, right? It's like always been his dude. Well, there's AJ Brown rumors. We're recording the show a little bit early, by the way. So if AJ Brown has been randomly traded and we're talking about it now, I apologize, but can you imagine AJ Brown to the Rams? Chill out. Yeah. Don't do that. Call down. Maybe the right mathematical process to go through, because you got Puka and he's a legend. But maybe two veteran stars equals one veteran star. Maybe that's the way you should be looking at it. Adams plus AJ Brown equals 17 games play. Maybe that's the way you should look at it when you add the, you know, like they should add Mike Evans and then they got to add Kenan Allen. Do you know what I mean? Sure. San Francisco, you get, you add those two guys and you'll get 17 weeks. I mean, it would Brown Brown to the Rams would be ridiculous. They will be and then they added Trent McDuffie. They're going to be really, really, really, really Rams. I just realized, guys, Kyler Murray is going to be the Rams quarterback in 2027. Like that's the plan. Because there was, there was all the rumors that they wanted him, but he would have to sit for a year behind Stafford. Makes sense. So what does he do? He goes signs a one year deal with a no tag clause with Sean McBain's buddy. He'll learn the system. He's like, Hey, go, uh, go play over there for a year. The farm team is the vice-chance opportunity. Yeah. Yeah. Go on it now, man. All right. Let's jump right in. All right. We have a lot of names to get through, but let's go ahead and recap what we're seeing for 2026. Last year in 2025, we had seven head coaching changes the year before eight, the year before five and then nine. So this, this year we have 10 and 21 new offensive coordinators, which is wild because there are 32 teams. Oh man. Oh, because teams keep hiring defensive head coaches. Yeah. Those numbers actually math out pretty good. Like if you have the most new head coaches, a lot of those are going to be stand out offensive coordinators. So let's do a quick, let me get a quick reaction from both of you to the results of the seven hires of last year. I thought it was pretty good. Uh, there are a couple of, I was going to go one by one, but oh, all right. Okay. So the land, the land, I think it was a successful year, two atrocious ones and then everyone else was pretty good. So Ben Johnson, obviously, great. Two thumbs up. Awesome. Liam Cohen. Yeah. Considering there was what seven last year and you have more, you have three coaches that I feel are in rabble. So four, four coaches that you feel good about the direction of the program. Aaron Glenn. He's not one of them. Pete Carroll. And that's the other, those two are outright just catastrophes. One of them still got the job, which I think is a larger catastrophe. Right. Like it would have been less bad if he didn't have more egregious. Jason, the New York jets retaining the services of Aaron Glenn. Okay. Or the New York jets trading for Geno Smith. Oh man. Uh, I'm going to say retaining Aaron Glenn. Okay. Geno Smith is probably the best quarterback they've had since Geno Smith. Every bad team needs, and I know this is a card no offense. Every bad team, what you need is a, you need a story. It may be an improbable one, but you need the way that you could succeed this year. There has to be some remote 35% target share. Garrett Wilson. Well, they're in fantasy. Yes. You'll succeed. The best chance of succeeding. But I'm just saying there are some teams this year that I do not have the story for. That's all I'm saying. Like, I don't have a story for the Cardinals. I, The Coby Brissettes has a starting quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals is not a story. Their story is the number one pick. Yes. That is the story. The story is how do you get the number one pick and have right now they're projected to have the most cap space in the NFL next year. So this is a, this is a 2027 plan so they can lose to the, What's your jet story? Oh, that one is, that one is tough. I mean, obviously they're number one pick. Gino just proved he can do that. You know, so that's, He's already proved he can get you. That's why they brought on. Who do we bring into it? Yeah. Sure. The number one pick. Oh my goodness. Do the Cardinals and Jets play this year? Because that would be a very important game. That would be a very important game. That's the one that has to go up to Alaska. Alaska and play the, Some fast facts on the coaching changes over the last decade. NFL teams hired 70 head coaches in the last decade. Only 33 of the 70 had NFL offensive play calling experience of the 70. So it's 47%. Seven of the 10 new hires this year did. So maybe that trend is starting to change. Younger coaches perform. We've been trying to help. Yeah. We've been trying to put the work on you. Telling you what you need to do. Younger coaches perform better in year one than their aged peers. 30s. If you're in the 30s as a first year head coach, almost a 500 winning percentage. If you're in your 40s, .424. So 42% winning percentage. And if you're in your 50s, you're at about 45%. Do I have some great news for you guys? The Arizona Cardinals do in fact. No. Play the New York Jets. In Alaska? It's in Arizona. Oh man. Unfortunately, it is in Arizona. It's a home game. Holy crap. I'm pretty sure that will decide the order of the top three. I believe the Cardinals have a much more difficult schedule. Oh, thank goodness. Yeah, thank goodness. The Cardinals home schedule includes the Eagles, Broncos and Lions. Yeah, oh my. Do you realize the fun irony of Arch Manning and Marvin Harrison being the tando? Yes. I mean that is. You're saying like running it back. It's like running it back. Yeah. All right. Let's get into it. Teams with new head coaches. I don't think they will be as good. I mean, sorry, Arch. You gotta let me just understand becoming Peyton is a that's far away because I just asked Marvin how easy it is to become dad. It's not a guarantee. If you guys have had this backwards philosophy where you're abandoning your home team. Yep. Oh, but let me understand. Are you they abandoned us? Are you putting it because you're not switching teams like I can get more on board with it. Are you setting it aside? Are you putting it in the closet? Yes. You're putting it in a box. It's on a top shelf. I need a step stool. You as well. Oh yeah. I'm in the attic, bro. Oh, you are. I need a ladder. Wow. Yeah. I mean, I could see mine. Your attic doesn't have one of those pull downs. The auto pull down ladders. You have to bring a ladder. No, we have those in Arizona. Yeah. Yeah. I don't. So you guys both have placed your fandom in like a cardboard box and threw it up in the attic. Next to some old clothes and I'm in my mind's next to other teams boxes. And I'm just I will say it's it's hard to after this long of a history of rooting for one team to like really get on board with someone else. Yeah, we say we don't care. But then all of this news we're talking about is like we want them to get the number one say if you had the number one pick, you'd be pretty excited. I would be. Yeah. You guys are just working through some stuff. The Cardinals new new head coach Michael of Floor. They at least got this one right. Yeah, checks a lot of boxes. You've got 39 years old. Good offense. Good. McVeigh Shanahan trees. Both of them. Great. Hair is questionable. Hair is at 39. The hair is a problem. It's just the style though. Yeah. Yeah. He's got good hair. Yeah. He is just what he's doing with it. Needs to change. Yeah. Yeah. Which I mean to be fair. This is the analysis. John and the man and it was not the hair. It was the stuff underneath. It was the brain. Brain. The brain. The spops. The Cardinals in 12 to Kobe. You got to fire anybody. How'd you drive here? Oh man. Take the bus. How did we ever not know how bad it was going to be from day one? I mean we did. All right. Cardinals had a lot of said like you have failed your physical. With Ganon. Yeah. So it does the floor. If you think they're playing this is the hard part of the NFL right. You say you're playing for 20 27. This is a first time head coach. He's not playing for 20 27. Correct. This is the hard part about getting the number one pick is you can come in and he we believe he's a talented coach. They got the coach higher right. They were the number one passing team in football last year and Jacobi starts. I mean 40 pass it has per game. We talked about this like if you bring in Jacobi Berset it's not inspiring for Cardinal fans. It's really good for Trey McBride. It's really good for Michael Wilson potentially securing more of a wide receiver to three fantasy role Marvin Harrison being something. There is stability in that. Yeah. The same way with Daniel Jones and Alec Pierce. You keep the name that you already know. Obviously the fantasy implications are what we're talking about today. This is phenomenal. You've got a young offensive minded head coach from a running tree and a passing tree inheriting a team like I made a lot about towards the end of the year. Jacobi was throwing the ball 40 times a game. He was on pace for 700 pass it's not going to happen again. This is as close as you're going to get where the defense they're not they're not investing in this team. They are not making this team like where you're really going to be competing for the playoffs in year one. Last Michael floor will be trying to win games. He's a young first time head coach but Monty Austin for the GM is not investing in the 2026 Cardinals. The defense is going to be bad. I think Josh Sweat maybe requested a trade. He actually said he did. Yeah that came out. Yeah but they do that sometimes. They come out and they're like no I didn't and then they get traded and it's like but regardless I think it's going to be a bad defense and a good offense despite the fact I mean Marvin Harrison will have the debates right now. I know Michael Wilson is being drafted ahead of him. You guys in baseball. Yeah really. Yeah I mean it was like a good player. Yes Michael Wilson looked great. Trey McBride obviously is awesome and the running game should work with this scheme. So I think there will be plenty of fantasy. What was your reaction to Tyler out here. As we go through the coaching changes if there's a relevant free agent you didn't get to talk about him. I'll get your like two second thoughts. Yeah I mean I it was really an anti Trey Benson. What's that. That was your time sir. Right. I think that the the run game will be a 1A of James Connor until he's injured and then a 1A of Algier. The Cardinals did suffer the most injuries in football last year. 40 players missed a total of 318 games. That was the worst in the NFL. We talked about that the final four teams in the NFC combined didn't have as many players on the injured reserve as theirs on a Cardinals did. So were they a bad team. Yes. Was their offense really productive for fantasy. Yes is Michael for a good offensive coach. Yes. So is Nathaniel Hacke going to do anything as the new offensive coordinator. We hope not. We hope not. Especially considering last year he was a defensive analyst. Those are plus 260 for few us wins in the NFL. They have the longest odds of a Super Bowl of all teams. Yeah that would correlate with how bad we are. How is Hacke still getting jobs. This was like an important like my war. Yeah it really was. Me. Person to person. I mean top it. The floor wanted to hack it bad. Well you got to be a head coach. It was awful. You got to be an OC for the Jets. It was awful. Like someone else. Someone else gets an opportunity. He was mid season fired by the Broncos right. Isn't that what that was. Believe like a real quick firing. I believe that's a man. That was we'll take a break. That's like three years ago. We'll move on to the Atlanta Falcons who are eight and nine. They have a collection of left handed quarterbacks now. New head coach Kevin Stafansky who we love. So that is you know their story feels a little bit similar to the Cardinals where like the actual head coaching hire we have good confidence in the floor Stafansky. But beyond that you look at the rest of the off season moves. Very weird. But they will. I you know I do believe in Stafansky. I don't I don't have the same view that you have on lumping them in. Well you didn't spend a whole week talking about the free agent pickups. That was a good time. Yeah. That was a good time. The Falcons. I mean obviously they brought in a hodgepodge of unimportant people. But with Stafansky there you know how good his running game has been. How dedicated he is to the run. The fact that they've got bees on here. And honestly like pinnocks. I don't know that he can really be what they hoped when they drafted him. And to what can come in here and win games. You think to a wins a job because they also put it out there yesterday that it was like both players know they're coming in to compete for the job. I think to a wins the job. The offenses for Kevin Stafansky have ranked in top 10 in Russia attempts every year from 2019 to 2023 to your point. Their offensive line was middle of the pack at 14th. They do not have a first round pick because because of poor decisions. Yeah. I mean they're dealing with James Pierce situation as well. They need wide receiver help. I don't think. No. Zaccheus is the answer. He's the perfect answer. So 35% target share. That's fair. They got a new offensive coordinator Tommy Reese. Zach Robinson was there. Who we liked. I mean are we going to be just brought back into Kyle Pitts. Right now. I think so. I mean the Stafansky you were like hey top 10 in in rushing attempts and all those and they've given us at least the Cleveland Browns over the past few years. There has been fantasy tight ends. This is the Browns moving over here to Tommy Reese is the Browns offensive coordinator. Yeah. At the end of the year I do think that he'll be a top six tight end. So it's the tight end one. But it was yes. But it's it'll be irrelevant. I mean I brought that up on the things to remember although man the things to remember episode I was thinking about this. One of my things to remember was that if you're not taking basically Brock Bowers and and Trey McBride then just check out just punt completely. Don't fall like I gotta have the next guy. And then after that after that episode dude the DJ more and the Michael Pittman maneuvers I'm like Warren and Warren. Yeah I'm like oh come on. I'm supposed to remember not to drag those guys and now you're making me really unbothered. If you want to put Warren and Loveland into the your four guys of like draft one of these four or log out. Will allow you want to leave fanning out of it like we would. Yeah you know I mean it is super ironic that I mean it was that was part of the issue was the target share. Now both of those guys could legit lead their teams and targets. I think they're both players I'd be fighting for as of right now. But you know at the time of you saying it that wasn't the case. Right. Anyways we obviously saw it coming. Baltimore new head coach new offensive coordinator. It's wild. I we had the show we were talking about Rico Dowdle going to Pittsburgh right and how I still cannot process moves to Pittsburgh without seeing Mike Tomlin's face and how he will treat the offense. Same thing is with Harbaugh here in Baltimore. I feel like those two stalwarts for so many years it's really hard to process how a team functions when you've seen Baltimore and what they've done. And all of a sudden it's Jesse Mentor all of a sudden is Declan Doyle that offensive coordinator Declan Doyle. Are you is that a comment on his name. Yeah Doyle rules. Well yeah there is. I just that's that's it's intense Declan. He is Declan 30 get over here Declan you're grounded is 30 years old three zero. Oh he can still be grounded. He can still be grounded for sure. He rides his bicycle to work. You know obviously Sean McVeigh was 30 years old when he got hired as as a head coach. So he's very interesting well regarded but I don't know I like you know this guy played man you know what I mean. Like you know he like yesterday yesterday last night he was playing man. I want that. The big concern I have right now and Mike you've shared it when we've talked about losing Patrick Ricard and Lyndon bomb in the bomb. Their offensive line. Yeah. You know you this by the way Declan Doyle was the offensive coordinator for the Bears last year. Yeah. No no we like to drop that sweet fourth down play where where where Kayla went backwards for 20 yards and then chucked it. That was all him amazing work. Defensive coordinator that's what Jesse Minner was the defensive coordinator of the Chargers in 24 and 25 but the offensive line is is concerning. Yes. You know they they they lost as a likely and free agency. Another you know one of the more explosive weapons. Yes Mark Andrews is under contract. He's in the sunsetting part of his career. Dave Flowers is there Bateman but I just think it is thank goodness they have their first round pick back. Because they could really use an old lineman. Yeah and another first round pick back from the next year and let's be honest we'd all rather have two first round picks and Hendrickson for sure then we would Max Crosby and no first round picks but you know you don't get to like you don't get to go all the way to the end. I think you do man. Everybody everybody is so big mad at the Ravens and I'm like you should be. I'm like good for you. You make your team better. You did what you should do. If I was a Ravens fan I'd be like sucks for you. I mean it does suck for all the teams that were like they went out and spent money like the Raiders and the Cowboys who wanted Max Crosby now they can't get them because they signed other guys. I mean it's within the rules. Yeah it's so it's a matter of do those teams want to do. It did make their team better. I saw I saw immediately like that the entire NFL is going to have a hard time like working with the Ravens. No they're not. If a deal makes sense for a team they're going to work with the Ravens again. This feels like a fantasy trade though where and we've been down this road with certain people where the deal is like a handshake deal or it's almost done and then they get the reaction of the league. Oh and then they go let's put the pole up. What do you guys think you like this deal and then you get the reaction you get to go now that's Bush League. That's what this is. That's not this is Bush. Oh it was yeah fantasy. There's no question this is Bush. It's both. It was the correct move for the Baltimore Ravens and it was Bush. I can agree with that. Yeah. Okay. Buffalo new head coach new offensive coordinator. There were 12 and five last year. Why not change your head coach and your offensive coordinator and then keep because your offensive coordinator. That's right. Joe Brady make him the head coach the head coach which is good. I think it was the right move. They hit their cap with McDermott. Yeah. Yeah. No I can see that and well I mean it's going to bear itself out this year. They already made the move for DJ more but this was the run first team. Joe Brady. There is stability right. Normally when you lose your offensive coordinator or rather your head coach you have massive instability. It's not good for fantasy players to not know what to expect. You can know what to expect on this team for James Cook for Josh Allen. You have the same guy and they were a run first team. They led the NFL with 109 rush attempts inside the red zone. Joe Brady 36 years old. This isn't really a coaching change. I mean for fantasy football right. For us it isn't for us. It is not a coaching change at all. The offense is being run. Joe Brady called plays last year. Joe Brady is calling plays this year. He'll have someone additional to help him design and run stuff. It was a defensive minded head coach at the top prior to this. So this is just more of the same. Personally I love this for fantasy. I don't think it's a I don't think it was the right move or hire for the bills but I get why they did that and and really there's we can't look at this team and say anything different about what to expect from the offense. Other than the loss of Gilliam full back Gilliam has gone. They lost their left guard as well. So those are I mean just like the Ravens will have some question marks at the O line as will the Buffalo Bills who were six. They had a very strong line and so you would be that strong of a unit already. They should be able to figure it out but those those things matter. This is also a deeper offensive line draft. They don't necessarily have like the one superstar elite tackle that's you know the number one pick but I think that these teams will be taking linemen in the first Jason we didn't get your let's get your couple moment reaction to DJ more to Buffalo. I mean I adored that move for literally everyone only from a fantasy football standpoint contracts and price don't matter to me. So is it good for Josh Allen. Yes is it good for DJ more. It's it's that he's probably the biggest winner because he looked dead for the Bears and then and then you look at the Bears you go OK. Colson Loveland has the opportunity to be the number one target or Luther Burton or Roman Dunes like it hurt nobody like Caleb is not a down arrow losing DJ more but Josh Allen is an up arrow. So and it the only person it may be hurt to like Khalil Shakir don't care. In 2024 so two years ago Allen was the first top five fantasy quarterback that didn't have a top 36 wide receiver because Shakir was 38. He did it again last year two consecutive years where he didn't have a top 36 wide receiver option. I do not believe that happens this year. I think DJ more will easily fit in the top 36. Yeah I think you're probably right. So that's the lay of the land with the Buffalo Bills. Why not talk about the Cleveland Browns who lose Kevin Stafansky. They got a new head coach. It's Todd Monkin the offensive coordinator out of Baltimore saying in division they were five and 12 last year they punted the ball the most in the NFL 93 times. That's the fans key. That's true. Todd Monkin comes in 60 years old. I don't know the 60 year old. It's not going to work man. This is not. Look I know we all like Todd Monkin from a fantasy standpoint. He likes to air it out. Play fast. Do great things. What's my age again. Honestly I didn't realize that's what that drop was. Yeah. I thought that was the actual song. 60 year old first time head coach for the Browns who don't have a quarterback in place. It's just this is a placeholder for two years. That drop had not been used since 2017. Yeah. Let me give you some sweet stats about old old dudes taking over eight first time head coaches over the last 25 years that were. They averaged 6.4 wins in year one and only Mike Zimmer and Bruce Arians lasted more than three years. This is this feels like like a lifetime achievement award. Right. I'm happy for Monkin. Like he will be able to tell his grandkids that are now 20 in their 30s maybe that he was a head coach. It's so mean. It's so mean. But seriously dude that's I mean congrats. Yeah. I mean Monkin was desired to go with Harbaugh. That was you know that was the intent. Then he had the opportunity to land a head coach deal in his 30s and he will probably be the OC for Harbaugh again in the near future. The Raiders changing. Should we talk more about the Browns and what to expect that offense maybe for a moment here. Yeah. Their offensive line was 31st. They have Quinn Sean Judkins injured. He'll be coming back. The entire offensive line is changing over this offseason. Their quarterback is. To Sean. Maybe. I mean right now I think. It's one of those. The answer is Sanders but if you get to camp and that and it's Gabriel Sanders Watson. I think and it's actual competition not a we're just going to give the job to Sanders to see if he can do it. If they go with who is the best right now it Watson will win the job. Man Watson was real bad though. He was. I mean he was he would never. Certifiably the worst in the league. It was not a pro bowler like should we talk about this back in the day. When it was when it was happening it's hard to remember how good the John Watson was. He was right. There was a reason that amidst all the allegations he was. Million guaranteed or whatever given unbelievable given over 200 million guaranteed 100 percent guaranteed 100 percent guaranteed contract and picks and picks. Yes because he was that good. How much was it. It's yeah it was 200 plus. Yeah I was definitely thinking it was but and they weren't alone the Falcons. No I know that's how good he was but I remember bringing this up like sometimes these are human beings like Tiger Woods. Tiger Woods was unstoppable right and then he had a personal issue. 230 230 and it was like you're just not the same look at the player again and Deshaun Watson has never he never got back to be. He was one of the worst players I've ever seen. Yeah playing the position. I mean I don't think it's impossible to do or beats him but if I had to call my shot right now with the first time I coach I think it will be. So with all of that in mind Harold Fanon Jr. Can he overcome. I mean he played with the same crappy options last year and was awesome. Yeah. Las Vegas new head coach new offensive coordinator they're making moves this offseason. They acquired Max Crosby recently from the Baltimore Ravens. No Clint Kubiak. I'm excited. Yeah. I think this is this was the best hire of the offseason you're going to get Fernando Mendoza with the number one overall pick. First thing you do after cubes comes in the door as you get a center to upgrade a change of line that is what the best center. I mean this is it's not hard man. Just good football maneuvers. Yeah I mean an offensive line makes mediocre players good. Good players great. Great players legendary. Fix the offensive line. I think the real question is going to be you're going to have a we know it will be an improved run game. You're going from the nepotism failure of Pete Carroll's son as the offensive line coach that was reported to be just an abysmal catastrophe and the offensive line stunk to a courted by my eyes. Yeah. To a cubes. I did a pretty good job run game that we know is good and upgraded offensive line with a center we know is good and then you've got Ash and Gentie there but you also have a clear and obvious want desire declaration for a running back by committee situation. So that will be like the coaching change here. Is it an up arrow for Gentie. Yes for me it is. For me I'm all in on Gentie. Really. Yeah I am not and I said this when that report came out at the committee I'm not convinced that you know I put zero stock in the just because it wasn't the guy that they drafted is a top five pick. I think Gentie's got the goods. I think you need you know he's the best player on the offense outside of Bowers right. I mean this is it's him and Bowers right now. You sound like me talking about Walker. I can't give you the top five pick part of the argument but yeah. No I look at the difference is sentiment is negative around Gentie. He'll it's he'll end up on my guy. It's not gonna end up happening. I don't think it should be negative but there we just as of right now you still have to wait because the who is the RB two. They there's no one on the team right now at least there shouldn't be a player on the team who takes a ton of nobody that matter to me. They're not drafting Jeremiah Love. Once you go beyond Jeremiah Love I'm not going to care about the name that you tell me. They have too many needs to take like a second round pick on Coleman which would be just about it. I mean I agree. I was worried when that when that news came out. If you told me it was Aaron Jones I'd have been like oh crap but with a little bit of crap with yeah with Aaron Jones being gone Tyler Algear being gone all the like there's no free agents left to really come in and compete and split so I don't I don't I don't disagree. I do think it is an arrow up. We'll take a break. We'll talk Miami. Is there any greater value out there than giga clear full fiber from only 19 pounds a month. It's out of this world. All right it's Malik Willis his team the Miami Dolphins brand new head coach brand new offensive coordinator Bobby Slouk welcome back to the OK to the prime time it worked so well in Houston. OK Jeff Haifley taken over Mike McDaniel era over in Miami they make the splash on Malik Willis Jason we didn't get to hear the thoughts Malik Willis to Miami it was your pick it was the one that you hit and he basically said at the press conferences because of those guys he like he just knew these guys from his time and the Packers. I don't know man I it's hard for me. I know you're in on Malik Willis as a talent you believe in him. You made that really clear. I'm not there. I don't think we've seen enough to know if he is really actually good or not that much is a guaranteed truth like whether you believe or not we definitely haven't seen enough to be like proven yeah and they gave him a lot of money and they kind of they acted like it was proven so I don't view this as necessarily smart I also think it'll be a down arrow you know you bring in a defensive head coach and Bobby Slouk as the offensive coordinator and a mobile quarterback. I I don't think this is going to be great for the Jalen Waddle type the just the passing volume I would not expect to be I would I would think that their plan is going to come in here and improve the defense run the ball better you know that's that's probably their best player is arrow up for a chance for you. Not really because I think it'll be neutral because it's the receiving game will probably go down for him as the you know rushing attempts go up for the team so I'm not I'm not like anti this but I'm not excited for here. Here's the nice thing for a chance. This was a 29th ranked offensive line that he produced at the level that he did last year a I mean he's he's an a consistency probably the most consistent running back. Yeah he was the only one that did not have a bust game. I mean dolphins right now are the team directly behind the Cardinals with the highest odds to finish last. So that's not great. No I don't I don't love either higher but I do think that Malik will is for fantasy will be very good. I think that's where I'm pretty but just for him you've got the cheat code for Malik Willis and I think Jaylen Water without Tyree Kale it's pretty clear he's going to be the he's going to be the linchpin of the offense right. I know they bring him back the Walrus. Kidding. I doubt it. Yeah I mean not I mean I don't know I don't know how the Miami fans are feeling right now. 11 Slawick was like I mean to be clear he was a head coach and candidate. Oh yeah he was on fire because rookie sensation you know CJ Stroud was like oh man the offense and it was him and Ben Johnson they were the two hot commodities. He should have taken a job well I mean it worked for Ben Johnson did not take the job they both work it turns out Ben Johnson was good right and then you had the next year of Slawick with CJ Stroud and you went what happened. I will be curious to see if Miami spins some picks on some of the top tier wide receiver talent that would be if you add another big name here it's going to make it really hard like you said if the passing volume isn't where it was before and you add a bigger Denzel Boston or Concepts Yeone or something or even somebody higher because they pick at 11 I mean they could get Tyson they're going to know with one of the big three something like that not impossible. That'll be something to watch but the Giants 4 and 13 last year 4th in the NFC East. Hello John Harbaugh. Yeah. You sad. I just you. You're sad at man Nagy. Yeah I mean it's like what is what is that expound on your because if that's how the higher feels to me it was like oh well this guy just is such a long tenured coach of course we got to get this guy in and he's been fine like the Ravens have been fine. You know what I mean of it and I would he's older than Monkin and I would say yeah but he's not a first he's a very I'm a I'm a way but it's the like that team feels like they really for who he had you had a quarterback I mean very few teams actually have a quarterback you have a true franchise quarterback in Lamar and you really really underperformed so that's where it feels more of a this is I don't feel like I've heard this from you yet. I mean you've been working through because you love Jackson Darcy yeah I know you love neighbors I feel like this is a bit of a resignation to like you'd love to believe differently. Yeah so the in in terms of the players I still believe in them and I still believe in Jackson Darcy you just don't get the like your pit crew is not nearly as strong as it could have been for them doesn't mean you can't still be solid and great for fantasy but with Harbaugh as the head coach and then Matt and Aggie is just the what he's gonna say the worst oh I was the worst was it reported that Cliff Kingsbury was coming here at one for a minute yeah for a moment yeah and then it was like oh yeah yeah in the streets yeah there's like got you it's he took the mask up budget it was not naggy yeah who failed as a head coach and then goes to the Kansas City chiefs and their office just falls apart the Giants were very good when Dart was on the field last year they were only minus 13 and 12 starts in terms of point differential they were minus 47 without him he is a really good player and the offensive line is good and if they add to it at the fifth pick and they don't go Jeremiah love which I don't think they will I mean they were the ninth ranked offensive line last year like perhaps the giant protecting this dude that is already trying to hurt himself the maybe the Giants at the while everything was going off they didn't feel confident they could get LaFleur or Kubiak in so they just let's get what we are well respected person that we think can turn the the program around I just feels a little disrespectful to John Harbaugh to categorize him as an inferior hire to Michael Fleur well I'm calling it an inferior hire because we know who Harbaugh is we don't know who Matt LaFleur is yet but I think that's exactly why they hired I think we know that he's good while you're disappointed that you didn't get a Super Bowl win and you didn't necessarily did I'm saying what the Lamar Jackson era of the Ravens has been disappointing only in the playoffs he has not been disappointing in the regular season I mean they've been one of the most dominant teams over the last five years Super Bowl odds very high they've they have disappointed in the playoffs but I think you know for fantasy football I think you can get a lot out of this team the glass half full perspective needs to be the way that Vrable performed with New England like Vrable came in he was struggling in Tennessee and he changed the entire culture of the organization that's what I look at with Harbaugh it's like the struggles for Vrable were much more significant than Harbaugh at the end of his tenure there so where he's not bringing in majestic play calling maybe you get that with LaFleur you get some kind of special offense and that's where you look at Nagy and you can't get excited about off right I completely understand and see that but I want this team in games I want this team in games that matter as the season goes on and by goodness please make camp scat a boo relevant again yes they did I'm looking at this offense it's scat a boo they have Tracy right mm-hmm they paid single tear this off season that's not a team ready to bring no that's that's smoke that's a smoke screen and the whole word looking at Jeremiah love not happening the Pittsburgh Steelers are now coached by Mike McCarthy I say the same thing for him and their offensive coordinator is Brian Angelico who's replacing Arthur Smith replacing Arthur Smith sounds great yeah we can get on board with we had some great times in Dallas with Mike McCarthy who's their quarterback that's not important oh okay silly me but it's Kirk Cousins really oh I mean he's who's left who's left and unless it's Aaron yeah Aaron Rogers or it's Kirk or a tower which you would think if I would think if it were Rogers in your in your the Pittsburgh Steelers you can't do it again right you can't just be held hostage by Aaron Rogers oh yeah you can no you can you don't have another choice you've you've volunteered for a hostage situation yeah this is you and in and you strapped your arms together and you locked the door behind hey I rather you tighten this for me Jason we didn't hear you my hands are too wiggly we didn't get to hear your so late they for a moment they're Caleb Johnson look like you may have a role in this team and then they signed Rico Dowdall how was that 15 minutes it was it was the best time of my life yeah no I I've I've moved on I moved I moved on I moved on come on you carry on double you double up on yeah no no no no no no no I have punted him off you might want to stay away from Johnson's if agreed agreed David Johnson was awesome that's true it's just K. Johnson's okay yeah yeah gotta figure out your Johnson rules as you call him um Kevin Johnson was good yeah it's a basketball thing maybe my my love for KJ has seeped over to the NFL I mean just don't fall in love with bad running backs oh that's it that was it that was it right there uh how was with you I was not on Caleb though carry on God injured he was gonna be so good I hate both times yeah Caleb is not an injury no Pittsburgh Steelers 10 and 7 last year this was a 10 and 17 they hit their uh their whatever McDermott moment they they're done the Tomlin airs over Thomas steps down McCarthy takes over it was good for fantasy with McCarthy in in Dallas with CD lamp we got an amazing Widersheaver 1 CD Lamier with Mike McCarthy Dak Prescott was good there is a there is a bit of the same argument for Mike McCarthy that you can make with the hardball higher and the variable higher it's a kind of a stabilizing presence not an inspiring play calling situation but Arthur Smith was frustrating as well I mean you've you've got Michael Pittman pitty city now in Pittsburgh you've got DK Mackaff you've got a quarterback at some point are you mostly negative mostly positive what's the view of this higher the I'm fine with the higher personally from a fantasy football perspective Mike McCarthy can get enough out of the passing it really comes down to the quarterback like you know I'm not I don't look at the Steelers and say this is a downgrade for fantasy football bringing Mike McCarthy in to replace Mike Tomlin to me at you know it's a wash is how I view it and I'm hopeful that maybe it actually is an improvement they'll play a little faster throw the ball a little more but it really they can't do that if they don't have a quarterback and honestly they don't have a quarterback because I don't think Aaron Rodgers is good enough Kirk Cousins probably isn't good enough what are you supposed to do when you're 10 and 7 and you won your division because if you like if you won your division and you succeeded and these are your quarterback options like rebuilding you don't have a pick for that yeah it's tough I don't I don't think there's an answer here that's not Russell Wilson we know that from years gone by Tennessee 3 and 14 last year full overhaul there were 30th and points per game I think we talked about it last week cam ward was much much better over the back half of the year 10 touchdowns one pick over the last 10 games Robert solid takes over Brian Dable offensive coordinator maybe back where he belongs you could say certainly as an OC certainly where his blood pressure medicine wants him I mean that dude that dude went through it in New York because he did have he had the combination of like not doing well and really having some terrible luck yeah oh for sure for sure and I think I don't think this is like Brian Dable did not win as a head coach but I don't think he is a bad head coach you're having at the bald squad I am laughing at what is being titled the bald squad their entire coaching staff is bald it's the largest it's it's absurd you got to go look at the Robert solid Brian Dable you know that's Gus Bradley bald unbelievable I mean it's like 10 deep this is I mean there had to have been genuinely a team barber that just got laid off I don't know what win the name every I don't know when the naming rights for the stadium but like Gillette oh my god you know so someone out here really needs to to get on this it's it's comical solid getting another shot not in New York you like to hire I understand it because when you go to the Jets and you fail it's probably there's a good chance it's not completely your fault I mean I mean just like an Aaron Glenn maybe it's not the floor these well and goodness head coach of the Buccaneers who had his opportunities Todd Bowles Todd Bowles had opportunities in New York yeah you're right I mean I on the team of I don't like when my I don't want my franchise to hire a defensive guy at head coach because then you lose your OC and you just have to keep replenishing that part of of your team but as of like where it stands right now as these two guys it's I think it's all right it's good for Cam Ward I think Brian Dable being there I think is a a benefit to him this was one of the worst offenses and defensive teams last year Robert solid should be able to do some things to fix the defense there were 28 them points per game last year I'm kind of cool with it and now they got new jerseys you know what I mean yeah sometimes you gotta look fresh and wigs I expect cam ward to take a step forward I think they'll add a big weapon beyond I mean they already signed Wanda Robinson please but I mean if you if you take an offense like cam ward for all of his flaws and I recognize how many there were in the beginning of the year this was one of the worst teams in football this was a bad offensive ensemble you add one Dale let's say you add Tyson or you add well I don't think they'll get one because I take love okay well even that is a massive help to cam ward Jeremiah love can catch the football Jeremiah love can take that pressure off of you to be everything for your team yeah you can do that I think this is one of the sneaky resurgent teams I don't know if it happens this year but I do like the hires it's hard to be the number one pick because 50% of number one picks in the last decade have a new head coach in year two that's how it works right you're a bad team yeah and that's the thing about this team okay let's say the Tennessee Titans they surprise they have their an eight win team eight nine yeah Brian Dables getting interviews to be a head coach that is true like that and then that'll be a problem so it's like if you see keep telling you how to avoid this if you succeed you fail you're gonna fail they should footblock to keep oh that's the way because just like hey uh Robert is a great dc we're gonna we're gonna fire just we're gonna go ahead coach it has there and if we ever had to no there's no way there's no way there's ever been co-head coaches there should be here this is the perfect scenario it is both bald you can't tell which one's walking down the hall yeah now you can table's gotta be you could that's the difference yeah one's got a beard one's got a belly um they're both table yeah um anything else from the Titans that you want to talk about I mean I think adding Jeremiah love all of a sudden this team is really exciting and fun I will call them fun I would not call them exciting which are my love you like the wandale signing Jay it's fine I mean we all three predicted them to sign him to you know have wandale essentially follow um Brian Day ball over here they needed it and he's a good wide
