Summary

Dr. Berg hosts a live Q&A addressing health questions on keto, intermittent fasting, autoimmune conditions, and nutritional deficiencies. The episode covers root cause analysis in health, the limitations of depression medication efficacy, and the importance of soil mineral depletion in modern food production.

Insights
  • Root cause analysis is critical in health—most medical interventions treat symptoms rather than underlying causes, leading to polypharmacy and cascading side effects
  • Depression medication efficacy is significantly overstated; SSRIs show only 3.5% additional improvement over placebo while carrying substantial side effects including increased suicide risk
  • Modern soil depletion of trace minerals (selenium, zinc, cobalt, manganese) over 80 years of NPK-only fertilization results in nutritionally empty food despite visual growth
  • Immune system modulation through vitamin D3, selenium, zinc, and probiotics addresses multiple autoimmune conditions more effectively than symptom suppression
  • Magnesium deficiency is a widespread root cause across multiple conditions (muscle twitches, kidney stones, bone density, anxiety) and is often masked by supplementation with inferior forms
Trends
Growing consumer skepticism toward pharmaceutical efficacy claims and increased interest in root cause health analysisRising adoption of carnivore and low-carb protocols for gut healing and inflammation reduction, particularly for SIBO and diverticulitisIncreased awareness of soil health and regenerative agriculture's impact on nutrient density and phytonutrient contentShift toward trace mineral supplementation and soil testing (Logan Labs) as preventive health strategyExpansion of AI-driven health data aggregation platforms to correlate symptoms with dietary and lifestyle factors for personalized recommendationsGrowing interest in latent virus reactivation (EBV, shingles) as root cause of chronic fatigue and autoimmune flares triggered by stressIncreased scrutiny of GLP-1 medication side effects (depression, nutrient deficiency) driving demand for alternative weight loss approachesConsumer demand for transparency in supplement formulation and detection of adulteration (e.g., magnesium oxide mixed into glycinate products)

you you Good morning everyone. Welcome back. Today we're going to answer any questions that don't relate to any medical care So if they do cross over check with your doctor before implementing any of the suggestions that we're about to tell you Steve over to you. Let's let's get through a lot of the questions that are lined up. Sure. Well, good morning world And I tell you what without any guarantees. I feel great Following many of the dictates of dr. Berg. So that's just a personal thought there. Let's go to donal from youtube I have had lifelong allergies and asthma. I received an autoimmune thyroid diagnosis 20 years ago And I believe I have mass cell activation syndrome. Hope you've heard of that. What should I do to alleviate these conditions? So so the first part of the question, uh, can you clarify that a little bit more? Certainly? I have had lifelong allergies and asthma. I received an autoimmune thyroid diagnosis 20 years ago Also thinks they have mass cell activation syndrome So a lot of times when you have allergies or asthma, your immune system is overreacting It's hyper reacting and so the the control valve is off the same thing with an autoimmune disease You're getting more inflammation. So we need to control It's called modulate the immune system and A couple things that you should focus on One is higher doses of vitamin d3. Of course take the cofactors magnesium and k2 and zinc But also selenium selenium is really really important in the immune system So I would do those things and of course eat super healthy do intermittent fasting And in I have videos in asthma The person usually needs to build up their immune system. Colostrum is a great thing to take small amounts over a period of time Um, take a lot of probiotics Don't be so, um, stare, you know your environment make sure it's not too sterile because even like kids that Are raised in very sterile environments. They don't really train the immune system So they tend to get more allergies and asthma down the road. So you want to build up that immune system So your environment shouldn't be so ultra clean You want to let your immune system develop and improve Well, that sounds hopeful. Hope that works for you, sir The name of this person is his child from youtube. How can one prevent diverticulitis? I can't believe I said that right from coming back and how can we prevent polyps from reoccurring in the colon So this is our interesting question because it's kind of like um, the patient who came in and said, uh, Dr. Berg I tried your program And it didn't work He did with back then I was doing this liver Liver program where you're eating foods to help support the liver to help you lose weight So, uh, he did it and he goes, yeah, I lost weight for the two weeks, but then it came right back Well, in and in his mind he thought he can just go back to regular eating. I said, no, no, no, no, no The cause of this problem is bad foods. You have to It's not like a treat a one-time treatment. You don't have to keep doing it. So, um, so root causes are important. So I'm gonna have you, uh, give me that question one more time so I can knock it so to sidetrack How awful I just erased it thinking you were doing it, but I can't tell you had some sort of syndrome Um, oh diverticulitis Okay, so so here's the thing with diverticulitis We got this itis inflammation of the diverticuli in the colon. So, um You have to reduce the things that are causing inflammation typically it's going to be the grains sometimes it's fiber Uh and and and seed oils all create inflammation And this is why carnivore has been very popular to eliminate all these other factors and then, uh consume Meat products that are high in glutamine that helps heal the gut So you're gonna have to I would recommend doing the carnivore for a couple weeks couple months Reset the colon reduce inflammation and then change your diet make sure you're Uh are not consuming those things that are irritating it typically it's going to be a lot of the grains and seeds and nuts and things like that All right. Well, I'm feeling a little sad for lisa from rumble who indicates that sebo life is brutal I've heard that any insights on how to eradicate it. I am eating the sebo yogurt regularly Small small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. Okay, that's when the the microbes that should be in the large intestine lower down than the g I track are higher up in the small intestine. So now they're They're in the wrong place. And so when they're fermenting I mean think about a goat a sheep or a cow, right? They have huge bellies. It's fermentation Well, you're getting that in the small intestine. So it's going to blow you especially if you consume fiber Um because it's going to ferment fiber. So here you're already trying to add more fiber to clear things out And it's just getting worse and worse and worse. So um again, um intermittent fasting essential Betaying high to chloride to acidify the stomach so we can get the pH correct And then also maybe even taking bile salts which actually help get rid of that but I think it's going to decrease the frequency of your eating is going to be a big factor and Cut down fiber right now until you can clear that out But I know what you're doing now is you're consuming certain microbes that are re-establishing things which is great But you got to really do the diet and also do intermittent fasting probably once one meal a day All right, well, we have an exciting development. I'm going to bring up quiz question number one for today and there it is So what causes these repetitive twitches like on your face or your arm like this? Underneath your left eyelid like what what's behind that? Interesting question. You know what the audience has to say good old curious butterfly from youtube I have been suffering from extreme fatigue for more than seven years Seven years ago. Can you please guide me in getting back to feeling normal to talk about the diet or any other things that might go? Well, this is this is where we just can um We could just have to guess because in order to figure out fatigue. There's like 100 different reasons for that. I'll just go down the list of a couple things um The the most important thing is to reduce your carbs But let's say you're on a ketogenic plan and you're low carb doing intermittent fasting and you're still tired Okay, I would then look at the quality of your food. Are you consuming? um actual high quality meat uh versus protein powder or some protein bar You know from akins or something like that that will make you tired But then let's say those aren't an issue Are you is your sleep good? Because if you're not sleeping you're going to be tired Are you getting enough sun during the day in the morning to activate this whole? Circadian wave believe it or not sun in the morning helps you sleep at night. Yeah, try it. It works um, and then the other thing is that uh Let's say you're doing all these things right and you're still tired There is something called a latent virus or a virus that is an dormant that comes out of remission Like something called epstein bar virus And when you go through stress It reactivates and it creates a lot of fatigue for people. That's what I had and um, you can try all these remedies It won't work unless the actual root cause of that Um stress is eliminated. So let's say for example Your next door neighbor is a terrorist. Okay, and that's stressing you out And you can't the only solution is to move right so If you're in a situation where you can do something about it and reduce the stress great But if you can't you're gonna have to you know change your environment. This is why so many people be going to vacation and Things start clearing up like their autoimmune symptoms get better because of your changing your environment from a stress to a non-stress environment Wow, well, that's hopeful. Okay, vinson from rumble. I don't feel anemic but my blood tests always show I have low hemoglobin and h c t. I also have high potassium levels in my blood. Is there a connection there? That's very it's interesting. Um, the question is um You know In order to figure that out because first of all, it's like rare to have high potassium But that can actually that can occur. Are you are you consuming a lot of potassium foods? uh, is there something else that we can look at more because it's kind of um Um, like are you completely? Not taking any iron Um, is there a problem with your acid in your stomach that helps you absorb iron? Do you have inflammation that's causing issues with the absorption of iron? um Do you have enough copper to help regulate iron? Because you could be um anemic uh from uh a problem with copper And you can also have too much Iron and also be anemic with a problem with copper. So copper tends to help regulate that So again these it's hard to figure things out without additional information so Stay tuned because we are going to be releasing something very very exciting to um be able to uh track all the The surrounding information that surrounds these things like You know the feeling of fatigue possibly anemia will be able to um Track all the information what you're eating how you're feeling your history To really be able to take the power of a lot of other people who had similar issues And then give you a good solution. So we've been working a year on this project We're going to be releasing it pretty soon and uh You'll be able to get the answer a more accurate answer because that way we'll have all the information all the data that we need to Figure this out. Well, I can give you the answer to is our audience smart and the answer is yes Because they use big words and their answers and uh, we asked of them What causes repetitive twitches in your face and arm a 55 percent or respondents say is caused by low levels of potassium 25 percent say it's stress or fatigue 10 percent say it's low levels of magnesium I assume glycinate and 10 percent say it's high levels of cortisol. Those sound pretty smart answers So so everyone is is right, but if but think about this we have um We have this entire assembly line or timeline From start to finish root cause and all the things that happen in between That can make things worse and I think people tend to kind of answer and well the medical profession is way down here treating symptoms, but Sometimes people are in the middle You know talking about how the body is trying to compensate because when you add stress stress is not actually a root cause of anything It actually is more of a it's coming from something um And also it's your capacity to handle stress that really determines stress some people Can just doesn't bother them. They don't get stressed out by it um other people the littlest thing You know creates a lot of stress. So if we're talking um About this question the the actual Think dynamic that's happening is we're getting too much calcium and not enough magnesium Okay, because magnesium Um magnesium helps relax the muscle calcium causes contraction. So we have this This little twitching going on But even deeper than that if your ph is to one way in the muscles you can get um Calcium won't work that well It's not going to be absorbed that well. So you can also get a twitching This is why people that take like upset of vinegar all of a sudden they acidify the body And then that twitches goes away But typically what's going to happen is you're usually going to be deficient in magnesium So taking more magnesium will usually get rid of that twitching and twitching is just an indicator of something going on deeper Just like blackheads Are an indicator of something deeper. So we if you watch enough of my videos, you'll kind of Learn a lot of these connections very good. Well, we have a connection with a nice lady named Amy from New York And she has a question for you go ahead and do one question for dr. Berg Amy Hi dr. Berg. Thanks for having such a great channel and for having me on today How do I get to the root cause of my recurring iron deficient amine onemia? So Are you past menopause now? Not yet 49 minutes. So get regular periods Yeah, so do you do you feel that you could be Losing still losing too much blood during your period or or not? Been pretty consistent for the past four to five years. I've said Okay, because that's typically Really the the biggest reason why someone like you could be anemic is the loss of blood The other reason could be parasites, which is very very rare believe it or not But then also it could also be The lack of copper a trace mineral a lot of people are deficient and you can't regulate Iron effectively and so you might have it in there, but it's just not in the right place. It's not working So I in order to figure that out It might be good to get a kind of a deeper test on On what's going on and then also if you ever take iron Make sure you don't take it from some pill unless it's a A liver capsule or eat liver, which I can't I don't like it Or even spleen versus the typical iron pills because they don't tend to work as well Have you tried to supplement with iron that way to fortify your body I have they also found out that I've been gluten free for three and a half years because I have on h. La DQ2 positive So I have like a sensitivity. I definitely tried supplementing in the past to try to Fix before I needed infusions Okay, and it was also yeah, that's interesting because I think there's another there could be a deeper Problem in your gut inflammation and If you have what you said, which is kind of a genetic Problem, I would also dive into that too to see what epigenetics you need to take because it could either be A problem that you're you can't absorb that well Or there also could be A bit of anemia coming from Just the Lack of B12 and folic acid So you'd want to take the methyl version of that. So it's kind of like one of those things where I would Personally, if I was working with I would sit down and get all this data and start looking at it because We're just operating off of a couple pieces and information, but I would go in the area of take take your genetic findings and then I would plug that into Some AI and get all sorts of data and what will be the epigenetic Things that you could do to correct or maximize that because it creates a a weakness within your body of absorbing at the receptor level and then also I would then Look also if there's any type of test that you could do for copper as well because that's a Kind of a off the radar thing that a lot of people don't even look at Thank you so much. All right. Thank you for a great call. Amy and Let's see. Amy. I've got a Bonus surprise for you. I'm gonna let you see quiz question number two along with the rest of the world And see what kind of answer you might come up with and that's for you to ask dr. Berg True or false an alkalized body is healthier than an acidic body Mystery deepens Lou from youtube i'm on glp one and have become incredibly depressed. Is there a connection? Have you heard of that doc? Yes, that's that's one of the side effects so The drug is pretty powerful And and it also reduces your appetite severely and one of the big challenges people don't consume enough Nutrient dense foods to satisfy Their bodies because they're not hungry. So I would definitely look at that Making sure you're getting all the right nutrients. I would really focus on getting more vitamin d um magnesium and and then I would try it An alternative and you can watch my recent video I did on Weight loss of zambic and so you can get alternatives be just simply because it comes with the package and We will be talking about this in the show very soon about the side effects of drugs, but Um You know, is it really that is it really worth it? There's other things you can do that can help you That don't come with these side effects All right, let's see Terry has given me some higher glyphics to help me pronounce things. He knows I'm not a grammar king sans 50 from rumble What are your thoughts about the benefits of taking astaxanthin did I say that right astaxanthin? yeah, this is a phyton nutrient and it's uh There's there's quite a few benefits for inflammation joint inflammation um and uh Normally like um, you can get it in um Things like shrimp as well crab things like that, but um And also you can't get in farm raised salmon now because you have to put the food dye in there So wild caught salmon has it that pink stuff. So there's a lot of benefits for the brain inflammation There's a lot of people taking it with great great Positive things, but I want to just mention something the these phyton nutrients are not necessarily Required by the body to survive because they really haven't been looked at enough, but I personally think that they are Super important because they create all sorts of health Factors because the plants and animals even create them as a survival mechanism. So we can piggyback on these these different Compounds to create different benefits when you consume Typical food in the grocery store that's grown in hydroponic With like 15 minerals you don't nearly get the the wide-range spectrum of these phyton nutrients and other things That create these benefits. So the more that you Eat real food from a farm like go to a farmer's market and you consume that or grow your own Food in your garden if you could do that as much as possible. You will get the benefits of these these nutrients You also have lutein and zeaxanthin in egg yolks, you know, if you get it from a farmer versus You know from the store you'll get more of that which helped the eye and helped the brain and so there's uh, I'm really interested in how do you Grow food with more of these phyton nutrients. It comes from soil that has trace minerals And has the right microbes so I think um I think it's beneficial I'm personally, um There's a lot of those things that you could take and you could be on literally 300 pills, right? So that's the that's the problem, but Do you need it? I don't know you want to try it. Sure try it and see how it helps you a lot of people like it, but um The other things that I do for inflammation or turmeric and also omega-3 fatty acids I'm cod liver oil that produces a in higher amounts. It produces a lot of Lowered inflammation. So I guess it boils down to what effect are you trying to create? All right, very good. I don't know if the audience is growing weird of me bragging about them But I don't care. They are that great and I hope you're sitting down dr. Berger's They have already answered quiz question number two in milliseconds and it asked of them true false An alkalized body is healthier than an acidic body 80 of the respondents say that that's false and 20 say it's true any winners today, doc Okay, so like this is a trick question just to see what people would say because typically On social media people will say they we need to alkalizer a body. Okay. We need to alkalize our body So I just want to see what you guys said The point is that you can't really answer it because the body Is mixed between acid and alkaline in different places. So it all depends on What part of the body you talking about dr. Berger you talking about the blood? The blood is slightly alkaline very slightly alkaline. Are you talking about the stomach? Majorly acid, right? Are you charged talking about the small intestine? alkaline large intestine Acid so it really depends on what part of the body is the right ph So how do you get the body to be at the right ph? You just eat Healthy foods and you don't have to worry about it All right, very good. Let's go to cellar from facebook. What are your thoughts on the benefits of taking good old chlorophyll? You know, it's you know, it's really good for if you have surgery and you have pain or nerve damage or boy chlorophyll Really helps reduce pain. It's it's uh It's like a plant the blood of the plant. It's green has magnesium in it. There's a lot of healing benefits for the inside of your colon Also, it's good for ulcers. It's good for gastritis. It's good as a healer, but It's just another one of those things that people take true chlorophyll is like oil. It's like an like a thick oil not the water stuff so Um If you consume actual salad arugula or romaine lettuce, whatever you're going to get chlorophyll dark leafy green things but it has some great properties for healing the inside of the tissues because it chlorophyll is like taking This healing juice without the fiber. So it's a that's that's what you you can use it for All right, let's go across the pond to the uk. We've got a nice gentleman Whose name is ash and he has got I'm sure a stimulating question for you and ash go ahead with you one question for dr. Burke Hi dr. Berg. Hope you're well um, so I was diagnosed with gastritis some years back and upon taking some medication from the doctors i.e. a meprosal and i'm a tryptoline for pain management I Got a secondary issue in the gallbladder, which was a gallbladder polyp um, what would be your recommendations in relation to a polyp in how you would try to Get rid of that it's starting to teeter on to about Uh one centimeter now So i'm looking at options of potential gallbladder removal, but it's on my little last option list shall I say Yeah, so if we take a look at the whole digestive Um problem that you're dealing with the probably the reason you have a gastritis is this the the cells Uh are abnormally producing too much acid and then they're treating a topic But they're not going deeper into the issue you should watch my recent video that I did on gastritis because like Zinc carnaus sign would actually help you and the reason i'm talking about Healing the gastritis first is because it's probably the gallbladders a secondary effect of the medication so You know also out of all the vegetables that are Are really beneficial for gastritis cabbage cabbage has a chemical it's called vitamin u. It's called s methyl methionine and this compound in cabbage or cabbage juice is very beneficial for gastritis Uh and also healing lower in the gi tract too with any type of ulcers and things like that A polyp is obviously something that's irritating the gallbladder. So I always resort to food What are you eating that could be aggravating it? um Instead of going down that channel, I would just get my my uh recommendation on the healthy version of the ketogenic diet Follow that with intermittent fasting and see if that polyp doesn't decrease see if your gastritis doesn't decrease one of the things you don't want to take at this point is You know butane how to chloride or apple cider vinegar because you already have too much acid So you're going to have to kind of juggle that until the cells of the stomach start calming down And try that protocol for a while. I mean chlorophyll might also help you as well But I I would try to do everything you can to save the gallbladder because once they remove the gallbladder Now you have no more regulation of gall bile and that means that Now you're going to have to deal with trying to regulate How much or how little bile you have and then the extraction of the fat soluble nutrients the omega 3s So now how do we deal with that? so um, you just need to know all of The bad things that could happen if you took it out and then try to prevent that Well, that's great ash. Thanks for a great question. I hope that helps and hope you heal up and live happily ever after ully health ully health from youtube What are the best ways to get kids who are picky eaters to get the proper levels of nutrition? Start over with some new kids and then don't give them any junk food at birth And do breastfeeding for about a year or two and then then they won't even know there's an option for junk food How about that? Now you probably don't like that. Now it's um, it's a very difficult problem because kids It's it's it's like they don't have a A lot of judgment of what is good and bad. It's like whatever tastes like if you even if you started someone on junk food ultraprocess foods they designed them for addiction. So you're dealing with Body cravings that will just want that thing and and it's really a body urge So it's hard to kind of talk A child and educate them on why you shouldn't eat that when the body is like no, no, I want that mommy You know, give me that so I would have alternative things in the house I would not have any junk food in the house. I would have alternative things Uh, there's a lot of recipes you can look at on our food recipe channel So it's not even an option. They can't find it and uh For every single thing that you might like that's junk. There's alternative foods. That's what you need to do So it's just so that way you don't have to battle Back and forth But then you know very gently I would do some education More and more there's a great um child children's book that we created on the website It's it's actually for adults, but it's it's it's a it's a coloring book and also a A children's book and this is all about the real basics on Differentiating real food from junk food and then at the end of that after You see the difference the child's going to walk the parents Through the pantry in the refrigerator and identify junk food versus good food. It's an exercise and um I did it to get the kids to get the parents To be able to get rid of the junk food So because the kids can actually learn real quick and then uh, but they have to be educated. So I would start with that book Encouraging. Okay. Let's start with quiz question number three and there you have it sir Okay, what's the primary missing new? What is the primary missing nutrient in our modern soil? Wow I know they got a lot of plastic in it probably but something else is missing. Okay. Uh, uh, Ali excuse me, um, margina from Pronounce it merjana from youtube after I finished my meds to clear up the rash from shingles Should I be concerned that they could be in my body creating havoc and hidden until another flare-up Do you have multiple flare-ups with shingles? Well, I think she's asking about the residual medication that is in her body. I don't know. I don't know but I think Uh, if you start eating healthy, you do intermittent fasting and you exercise increasing blood flow Hopefully a lot of that will kind of uh, be fleshed out. Um, Is but I don't know exactly what the medication is but uh, I will say uh, shingles It kind of is a virus that can come out of remission during stress moments moments and so I think um, you should watch my video I have a lot of great tips on what you can do to keep your stress low as well as to keep that That thing in remission so it can stay dormant Some viruses don't do that but some viruses will permanently stay in your body and um They kind of come out When when the right timing is so they kind of kick you when you're down So this is why you need to build up a health reserve and uh Really actively and aggressively You know do things to keep your stress as low as possible Very good. Let's go to janelle from facebook. What's the best way to keep my 70 year old bones strong? Weight-bearing exercises um and I don't know what kind of shape you're in but uh Definitely you need to start doing um You know, I mean ideally deadlifts, but I but there's a certain type of deadlift that You start very slow and you can actually stand in this bar So you're not bending forward and you actually squat and put your body under a certain amount of weight, of course I'm not recommending it unless you work with a personal trainer or someone to get you at the right level But we want to add more weight to your structure To be able to force the bones to start rebounding There's also a vibration therapy that seems to also help help the bones, but we we need to Put the bones under some stress Periodically to keep the bones from developing osteoporosis or osteopenia Okay, anything aerobic like the bike being vigorously does that do anything for that or that just more muscle? Not as much a little bit A little bit, but not too much believe it or not You need to actually do weight bearing exercises to actually really get those bones Solid now the way they measure with the dexa scan is they measure the lower lumbar spine and the hips Hip joints and the hips so um sometimes they'll measure everything But they're looking at that area right there, which is a key foundation because You know what the problem is a slip and fall you break your hip and now it's like Not good. So um, they want those bones real strong. So in other words for those of you that are not old and frail Make sure you do Strengthening the exercise weight bearing exercises now while you have a chance to prevent The frail bones. That's the most important thing. All right, very good. Well, this is a little reminiscent of ash our friend from uk's question And this time from michelle from youtube I have a gallbladder that is functioning at 20. What can I do to increase its function? Watch my video on the gallbladder because I go through all the different things That cause the liver to release bile and then I also cover all the things that Trigger the gallbladder to contract What foods with nutrients and I think you're missing some of those things and um And if that's it's you just need more knowledge on what causes the contraction of the gallbladder All right, very good. Let's go to quiz question number three which asks of the audience What is the primary missing nutrient in today's modern soil and 45 percent are responded say it's selenium 20 percent say it's magnesium 15 percent say it's nitrogen 10 percent say it's copper and 10 percent say trace minerals. That's a big basket of answers So the answer is calcium uh calcium is missing but but number two Is that is not just one mineral. It's the trace minerals the trace minerals Um, people don't really know what what that means. There these minerals Like zinc selenium Cobalt manganese these are minerals needed in very tiny amounts and what they're needed for is the chemistry um Of the plant to be able to Create its biochemistry to to create defense chemicals for the immune system to create All sorts of building blocks all this stuff Is activated by the key enzymes which need helper trace minerals And also regular minerals needed in larger amounts So these trace minerals for the last 80 years we've been depleting the soils with just three minerals. We just put uh, NPK nitrogen Phosphorus and potassium and so we just kind of focus on that um, and then what happens is we we can stimulate growth, but it's empty So we need to put the trace minerals back into the soil and i'll be doing more videos on that soon So if you have a garden you send, uh, I would highly recommend doing a soil sample from Logan labs They're very inexpensive Can they give you a nice little report? You send in some dirt a couple cups of dirt six inches down from your garden bed Send it in they give you a report and it tells you exactly what you're missing And what you need to do to fix the soil So, uh, keep it simple and that way you can it takes a lot of trace minerals a lot of nutrients in that soil to grow high quality vegetables Much different than growing corn or wheat Okay, harry homeowner question you go to home depot or the like and you buy some potting soil and you start a little tomato plant is there enough nutrients just in that kind of stuff to do well If you want something average But of course if you're like me you want something you want the best and so You want to find out exactly What you need to put back in the soil so you're not guessing and there's a formula all bright and Solomon They have protocols. Um, I'll have to put a video out on that because There's a couple gurus out there that I really Follow and I like the information because they figure it out One of the best formulas to grow food in and uh, it's it's not hard it's uh It's very easy All right, very good. We had a guest join us a little late. So I didn't have time to brief her. Her name is norah and norah I'm hoping that you have your audio on and so go ahead and with your one question for dr. Berg Well, hi dr. Burke. I don't know if my audio is on can you hear me beautiful? Yes. Thank you Uh, I am gonna be 72 in august and I was wondering how much protein Should someone of my age have who's female? Yeah, that's a good question. I I don't think it should be an extra low amount I think between six to eight ounces with a meal would be the best thing for you because um, that protein is not just It can't really be used as a fuel. It's used to replace Uh, connective tissue and your muscles and all the biochemistry and the enzymes everything So I would consume animal protein Six to eight ounces with each meal Absolutely I think you'll feel much better from that if you if you're not already doing that But make sure it's high quality. Maybe grass fed something like that and of course fish That's what I would recommend Thank you so much Thank you for joining us. We appreciate you all of you by the way guests taking your time and the audience that watches us on social media And whenever you want steve, I do have uh the mailbox of questions Unless you want to wait for that. That's totally fine. I tell you what speaking of the audience This is a new phenomena. We're starting this in cases on facebook We're going to expand it out to to x and other ones, but it's where people ask specific questions On various health topics like keto omad dr. Berg's supplements. So we go to the mailbag and this is a rapid fire Eight or ten questions that dr. Berg will grace you with and give you the audience and ready ding Okay, got my gallstones and sludge got many gallstones and sludge and rejected the surgery and now trying to use bile salts to dissolve my stones Okay Yes, you want to take bile salts After you eat but on an empty stomach. I would recommend taking Tadka Tadka is this very specific type of bile salt that that I recommend taking it on an empty stomach And you take two twice a day Uh, and then just take one bile salt after you eat and what will happen is that you'll increase the ratio of bile salts to cholesterol and to help we help hopefully dissolve the sludge which is a Precursor to gallstones and also the stones themselves. That's what I would do. Okay. What's your opinion? I coenzyme q10 This is kind of the a real key compound to help the mitochondria make energy Okay, our body makes it but it can come from food the best sources and heart It's like organ meat like heart like beef heart, which is kind of hard to find sometimes But it's also in red meat and things like that. You can take it as a supplement But what coenzyme q10 does it gives you energy and Helps your muscles work One drug that blocks it is called statins and they block it and this is why one of the big side effects from statins is muscle problems, okay So if you're on statin you better be taking coenzyme q10. Okay Do vibration plates really stimulate osteoblast and build bones? Yes, they do For sure, but I think I would also add weight bearing exercises and I would also add vitamin d and vitamin k2 if you have osteopenia osteoporosis increase your k2 Way up there. So instead of doing micrograms like they normally come in find it There's a kind of two companies out there that you could find milligrams Of k2 like 45 milligrams and start taking that To make your bones really really solid And with the vibration plates, I think that would be good Please talk about the impact of food in some justin supplements like magnesium If you're on warfarin, okay? So So when you're in warfarin they tell you to take uh, uh, don't take vitamin k1 because um, we're trying to thin the blood and we don't want to Thicken the blood or make it Quaggulate so, um The magnesium doesn't interfere with that process. So magnesium would be fine But as far as the leaf green leaf greeny vegetables or the, um, you know vitamin k1 vegetables I would work with your doctor, uh, and the most important thing Because as soon as you completely cut all of them out, I mean like it's a major deficiency Maybe what you do is you just keep it really consistent with the amount of k1 coming into the body So they can adjust that medication to keep, um, the right, uh, thinness of blood Versus, um, completely get rid of it, you know, 100 percent. Please talk about the, uh, let's say, I wait I'd like to hear more about the actual cause of diabetes And what about parasite cleansing and fatty liver? Diabetes has a root cause. It's not necessarily elevated um Glucose it's elevated insulin chronic elevation of insulin causes the receptors um for insulin to Downgrade and be resistant and then there's a feedback loop that comes to the pancreas and it says pancreas produce more And so we have more and more and more and more and more and to the point where the pancreas is like i'm just too tired I can't do this anymore and then the insulin goes down Now the blood sugar goes up So what would be the common sense thing to do to correct diabetes? Uh, is to not stimulate insulin anymore and there's two things To focus on cutting down your carbohydrates and cutting down with the frequency of eating Aka snacking get rid of snacking have two meals a day And i'm manifesting low carb and you should be able to correct that Also, the same thing applies for a fatty liver because it's the same cause As far as parasites um wormwood extract clove And black walnut hulls is the remedy for that Um, okay, what plants herb supplements are estrogenic stimulating? um because apparently there's a problem with ovarian hormonal issues with too much estrogen You want to avoid soy? soy flavonoids Probably avoid flax hops um, and then also take something called dim which is a concentrated cruciferous Which actually helps you regulate the balance of estrogen So if you're excessive In the estrogen family dim is a great natural product to help regulate that and you can also consume cruciferous vegetables To help regulate that as well Next question is how do I stop hair loss with hypothyroidism? How do I stop kidney stones? How do I do with a hyaluronium? without having surgery so Hypothyroidism probably the the most important thing is to take selenium Um, but I would take selenium for a while, especially if it's autoimmune Take that for like maybe a month before you take iodine because sometimes when you take iodine You can create more of a selenium deficiency and selenium is one of the Best things to help convert the inactive t4 to the active t3 So it helps the conversion, but it also lowers the antibodies in your thyroid. So it's really really important underrated selenium very important and then I would also take if it's autoimmune vitamin d3 Okay, and it just so happens the same remedies will also help your hair and then uh, let's see you asked about uh, kidney stones The most important thing is magnesium a lot more magnesium 600 uh milligrams a day minimum magnesium glycinate not not ox ox ox aid We're not even um citrate. I would take magnesium glycinate Um, the other thing is that to drink at least two and a half liters of water a day But magnesium is the key to prevent the the calcium oxalate stones And then how do you deal with the hyaluronia? Watch my video on that. There's manual type Massage that works great for that. You can actually press into Underneath your sternum to help push back in that bulging Problem hernia Hashimoto's can it be healed completely can iodine? Well, I already mentioned What you should do with that you should do selenium for a while to lower the antibodies And then what you can do is you can do an iodine test To see if you need iodine simply rub it on your skin within a few hours It should be like if it's completely disappeared the yellow Means like you're deficient you're by sucking it up there You can do a search on how to do that iodine test because it's a Is an actual procedure you can figure that out with but the other thing is that um If you have Hashimoto's which is more common version like 90 percent of people with Hypothyroidism have that You definitely absolutely positively need to avoid anything that even comes close to Something with gluten in it because gluten can aggravate that condition if not trigger it So very very important. Maybe we better cut it off there to get the rest of our business but for any of you that want to get involved in the Millbag racket that is currently on facebook just go to dr. Burke's facebook page and there's a forum there We're going to expand this to other things and thank you dr. Burke for that and we better move on with quiz question number four and there it is sir Okay, should we consume seed oils if they're cold pressed? All right audience climb on that please and let's see let's go to uh burnadette from youtube I'm doing a heavy metal cleanse using apple Petten as a binder. What would be a good binder to get rid of mold and yeast? I wouldn't use a binder I would cut off the The source of food to yeast and mold which is going to be uh simple sugars Completely carb not one bit of sugar or starch in your diet and then the other thing that's interesting With yeast candida mold is they tend to produce Ammonia to Alkalize the body to survive better they they thrive more in an alkaline environment This is why I don't want to alkalize the body Willi nearly so basically what you do is you Start taking Lactobacillus to start microbes start building up as a probiotic start building up your probiotics especially the ones that make lactic acid to start adding more acid in there um also things like apple cider vinegar and Sourcrout raw sourcrout with that juice is really good to acidify the body to Change the pH because they they they don't thrive in an acid environment This is why taking the tain hydechloride for your stomach is really helpful as well um, but that's that's what I would do If I were you All right, very good. Well, uh nat also wants to know what you would she should do if it were up to you and she asks Not all of us can afford grass-fed protein. Can you recommend a cheaper but healthy alternative? Um, I would buy what you buy what you can even if it's grain-fed meat. It's better than other things um, so do what you can Uh, even though it's it's not organic grass-fed go ahead and consume that meat Still going to be uh good, but also eggs eggs are inexpensive um And if you have to just do commercial eggs fine do them That's what I would do. I mean I I remember through college if I only would have known uh this I mean I was Didn't have very much money at all So I was I would eat just junk food, but if I can go back in time I would have had something like sardines, which is very inexpensive I would have eggs Whatever meat that I could find All right, very good. We have an answer believe it or not the quiz question number four And it says should we consume seed oils if they are cold pressed in the audience? as always has an opinion 55 percent say no and 45 percent say Yes, they should. Uh, what do you think dot? So if you're going into the store grocery store, have you ever seen cold pressed corn oil or cold pressed soy oil for your salads? No No, you probably see cold pressed safflower oil and things like that and maybe um And that's fine if you have them small amounts, uh, and um, but don't cook them So because I mean most these oils come already So cooked and so dead and sitting on the shelf and uh, they're kind of like dead and they're you have to realize that When you have like a black seed oil, that's uh Omega six oil, but you're you're consuming in tiny amounts like a little a teaspoon of it The average person consumes literally 25 percent of all their calories Not just seed oils, but they're cooked seed oils heated not cold pressed so Want to do with some cold press go for it, but I would just real just realize that you you better offset them with the omega three fats Not because they're very heavy in omega six and so many people are eating just too many of the omega six which create inflammation All right, very good. Let's wrap things up in terms of questions with quiz question number five for the day What is the true percentage of improvement by taking depression medication? Hmm I suspect something other than excellent Florida man from youtube i've been taking 50,000 i use of d3k2 regularly for about a year My doctor ordered a test for vitamin d and the level is 223. She said I should stop should I? Well, I would um, I would highly recommend going back to the The diet how much sugar are you consuming how many desserts refined carbs? I would go after that And I would ensure That you have a very low carb less frequent eating plan. Okay, and then I would also get an advanced lipid profile And watch the videos on how to read that Because that will also tell you the truth about what's really going on and and and the lies You know what would they push out there to try to scare you? All right, very good. Well, we haven't heard from zoe anna from rumble for a while So I'm going to choose her question next and she asks what caused ankle swelling from time to time could it be related to indigestion? Probably not indigestion, but usually it's you're eating too many carbs and it's going to cause retention of Water but indigestion is a perfect indication that you're low and stomach acid in which case you need Something called butane hydrochloride you take it with meal And like three or four of them and I'm telling you your indigestion will go bye-bye What do most people take an n acid? Oh my gosh Now you're going to go from bad to worse because you're taking away that acid Guess what you're going to get is a side effect more indigestion and gas All right, very good. Let's go to pure joy is the handles For this person from rumble. How much copper do we need on a daily basis? And what are the best co-factors to maximize its absorption? So it really depends on your situation and and I know there's rda's but i'm not going to go by rda's because rda's are the bare minimum To prevent a deficiency. They're not therapeutic dosage doses and uh, and I have a different protocols for different things so I think you should look those up and also, you know, you never all want to take just one mineral or trace mineral without other things too because like for example copper needs zinc and If you have like sodium works with potassium magnesium works with calcium But even vitamin d works with k2 and magnesium and zinc. So there's other co-factors that work along with it. And this is why When I actually have a supplement for example, I'm making sure that it's also has those co-factors You know, I looked up some of the supplements on magnesium glycinate that they sell on Amazon and I was like shocked to find out they cut it. They say it's magnesium glycinate, but they cut it with magnesium oxide as like That's bad that now you're out of in a very cheap version of it to make the person think that they're getting something Unique all you're going to get is diarrhea because it has a laxative effect and you only absorb like three to four percent of it. So It's just interesting to see if you when you read the label It's like sometimes people don't understand it, but there's a lot of little tricks that they do to Make you think you're getting the actual thing when you're not All right. Well, I'm not sure. Didn't you see you got an app coming or you have one that can help analyze these things? Am I thinking of that right? Not not analyze labels, but I do have a dr. Berg junk food app that Will analyze labels with junk food like seed oil sugar and starches All right, and you also have a wonderful show with a bunch of questions And here's the last one from the day which to ask what is the true percentage of improvement by taking depression medicines? and 66 of a respondents Say it's 10 or less. That's depressing 24 of them say it's 25 20 percent or less And 10 percent say it's 50 percent less. So nobody really seems to think that it's terribly effective. What say you dr. Berg? So steve I just spent eight to nine hours studying this and I And it took me that long to kind of figure it out because It is so convoluted so complex Uh trying to figure out like even what the percentage is because they They're using math tricks in sleight of hand. I found out it's like crazy I mean The stuff that you can legally do with research and make something look a lot better than it really is is is crazy So i'm just going to give you this really simple. It's super Bizarre we're talking about SSRIs and And i'm not even factoring in there um Probably the true information because That's that's for a different seminar and a different thing because Drug companies don't have to publish their actual data They did the so the data the actual research a study they can kind of keep that themselves Even though pried taxpayers pay for it and then so and then you find out you do a freedom of information act you find like Oh, wow. Look at that. It's not actually what you say it is, right? That's why so many drugs kind of get recalled as being damaging But but so what they do and i'm going to give you this really simple There's a a scale that they use the hamilton scale That they as the gold standard to see how how much less depressed you are. Okay, and so What to do is they'll test a placebo against the actual drug and So the drug the placebo got 18 0.8% results. So let's just run up to 19 percent. Okay, 19 percent the placebo got 19 percent relief with depression The drug added an additional 1.8 points Which came out to probably 3.5 percent So basically and this is why it's the they have points percentages. So by taking the drug You're adding an additional 3.5 Percent on a scale from 1 to 51 Okay Now think about how tiny that is Guess what you did the heavy lifting lifting It was the sugar pill. It was the placebo Now check this out at the expense of what? a black black box warning label of increased suicide Numbing effect of your emotion. So you don't just get rid of depression you get rid of all your emotions 60 percent increased risk of sexual dysfunction And 45 percent nausea. I mean the list goes way down there to get this extra 3.5 Less depression. There's also a paradoxical rebound effect with depression as well. So I was like You got to be kidding me. And so Then I started looking at placebo effect and they've even Gated an experiment with people taking medication And then they They hid they put an IV in someone and they didn't tell them they were giving a medications to test to see the Effectiveness of this medication and they found most of the medication Didn't even give you any effect at all other than side effects So what does this tell us? the power of placebo at the power these these medications are just basically a placebo effect and We should be studying that the power of the mind the power of hope the power of like hey, you know what? You're probably going to get well the power of our own mind. It's just incredible so i'll be doing a video on this but A 19 billion dollar business that was created off of a an extra three 3.5 percent lessening of depression But with a big package of side effects All right, why don't we wrap with this? This is from yolanda and she says this is the most productive way to start my day Thanks doc. You're a keeper so she's going to keep you and likes the show They have it you got any parting words for our audience today as we embark on a wonderful weekend um If you if you go to the doctor Or don't go to the doctor you you when you have a health problem you you really need to ask Why and this is the omitted question in in medicine. They don't go Deeper they don't go into root causes is not trained in that it's it's just the system That they're taught is this it's not in the in the in the training So you really need to start asking questions. So well, why? Uh, is my blood pressure high in the first place? Why do that is the question that you must answer? Versus blindly just taking another med and then because that medication then Leads to side effects that add more medications called a polypharmacy On that note, uh, have a wonderful weekend. I will see you next week You
