Remember, you can hear my radio program daily on Sirius XM Triumph and connect with me 24-7 at DrLora.com. Christina, welcome to the program. Hi, Dr. Laura. Thank you for my call. Hi. I appreciate your time. You're welcome. So, I will start out by saying I'm really embarrassed with this, with this problem I'm having, actually with, not necessarily with my husband, but it's a problem that I've been more jealous lately of a certain female employee that works at a company that my husband and I own. Just a little background, my husband and I have been married for 32 years, happily married. This business has grown from the two of us to it's really large right now. So, we have lots of different employees and it's, you know, he puts all of his time, effort and energy outside of our family into this business. I work a small amount there. I've kind of realized it's not best for a husband and wife to be together all day and all night. So, I have a small part in the business, so I'm still, you know, I'm at company events, etc., but I have found recently that one of the employees female, about 20, 27 years younger, just, she's just a complete flirt and a lot of the flirtation is, you know, with my husband. He tends to just brush it off, ignore it, but it's really getting to me and when it gets to me, you know, I know. Okay, Christina, there's nothing wrong with how you feel. It doesn't make you bad, stupid, weak or anything. Your husband should not be tolerating that and I believe he's got to take her into a little meeting and tell her that her behavior is unacceptable and he needs her to be more professional in order for her to keep her job. He's got to do that. He can't be weak and frightened and somewhat flattered and let it continue because we could have a problem from that. At some point, something might happen. She could sue you guys that he was sexually aggressive or assertive toward her, you know. These kinds of things happen all the time, especially these days, when people feel less character and were desire for stuff. So, it's my opinion that he has to act like a professional right now and deal with this professionally and have another woman, perhaps you, in the office at the same time and you stay totally quiet. You do work at the business, so it doesn't seem unusual, but he's got to tell her that the flirtatious behavior needs to stop and she needs to behave in a more professional way. The reason it's continuing is because he's allowing it because he's somewhat flattered and embarrassed. Sure, I would agree with that. He just maintains and I do see it. She is the same way with clients. You know, I mean, just mildly flirtatious. Well, then he may want to rethink having her because this could be a liability. I mean, being charming is one thing, being flirtatious is another. Right, right. You know, I just don't know if I'm overreacting or not. When life gets hectic, energy ups and downs are all you need. This is inappropriate behavior, but women pull this crap because they figure it gives them some power. That makes sense. That makes sense. We'll do. We'll have to get together and have a meeting and work on that. Yes. And just, you know, it's kind of inappropriately flirtatious with clients and people who work here, including me. And I would prefer that you slip into a mode that's just professional. Charming is good. Personality is wonderful. Flirtatiousness is not how I want my company represented. Right. Okay. I think you'd be happy to do that. Good. I think so. And there's nothing wrong with you. Thank you so much for your time. He should have handled this, but most men, you know, they can go into combat, but when they have to face a situation like this, they get gutless. Yeah. I'm sure it is flattering. Right. I'm sure. So, of course, we'll take, we'll take care of it. But it's not professional and it's going to start, it's going to start annoying other of your, of the folks who work for you. I would agree. It annoys me. Well, it make, I think it would make other male or female feel that she has more pull. Oh yeah, exactly. I would agree with that. I would agree with that. It's not good for morale. Right. She looks like the class favorite. Yeah. Not good for morale. Alrighty. I appreciate it. You're welcome and stop beating up on yourself. Thank you so much. It's normal to feel jealous at that behavior. Of course it is, but it doesn't mean you're overreacting. Right. I just thought maybe because if you're married so long, I know he's, you know, I know he's faithful. So it's just one of those things that you get an argument about. Well, can we shift out of your insecurities and slip into professional behavior in the company? I want you to slip out of where you've been and slip into the same professional and there's liability. And that's even more important when it's your business. Yes. Right. So get off your own back, please. Well, thank you. I appreciate that. I've been on my back. Okay. Yeah, get off your back.
