But first, let's take a moment to settle down, so we're ready for a good night's rest. Make yourself nice and comfortable, lying on your back if it suits you right now. Take a deep breath in, filling up your lungs, and just hold at the top. Then exhale gently, and feel the way your body sinks into the bed. For the next few moments, as you lie comfortably in bed, try placing one hand flat on your stomach, and the other on your chest. Feel the rise and fall of the breath as it moves in and out of your lungs. And invite a sense of calm to enter your body with each breath. It may help to visualize this calming essence as a warming glow, a peaceful energy that surrounds your body. With each deep breath in, you absorb more of that calming energy. And as you breathe back out, you release tension and unease, whether it's physical or mental. This essence of warmth and peace fills you more and more, as you continue to breathe in calm and exhale tension. Sense it permeating every cell of your body, and feel that warmth in your chest and stomach, where your hands are comfortably resting. In this restful haven that is your own, you are safe, comfortable, and calm. And now, it's time for me to hand over to Simon. If you want to let your thoughts wander, imagine a man walking down a long, dusty road, heading towards a small town. This is where our story begins. The sun began its slow descent beyond the horizon, painting the sky with brilliant hues of pink and orange. At this time of day, a small town of Willowbrook was abuzz with its usual evening activities. There was the aroma of fresh baked bread wafting through the streets, merchants packing up their stalls, and of course, neighbors chatting over white picket fences. The predictable rhythm of life was something the townsfolk had grown accustomed to. However, little did they know that this very night something extraordinary was about to grace their humble town. Off in the distance, a lone figure emerged, walking with a steady gate along the dusty road that led into Willowbrook. His name was Bronn, and he was a wandering storyteller. To those who hadn't encountered him before, he was an enigma, a mythical presence known only through the tales that traveled ahead of him, like whispers in the wind. With his flowing white beard, he had an air of wisdom about him, and his deep-set eyes held an unmistakable glimmer of mystery. Around his shoulders, Bronn wore a traveller's cloak. It looked well worn, hinting that the countless journeys it had accompanied him on. And the backpack he carried bulged with the weight of his most prized possession, an old, leather-bound book that held the most fantastical fairy tales within its pages. These stories had been passed down through the generations. The sun dipped lower, casting elongated shadows across the cobblestone streets, as Bronn found a secluded spot near the outskirts of town. He gathered dry leaves and twigs with practiced ease, arranging them into a small circle. A snap of his fingers ignited a small flame in the centre, flickering and dancing like a sprite. The warm glow that pierced the encroaching darkness intrigued the townsfolk. They couldn't resist their curiosity any longer. So, they followed the light, eager to take in the peculiar sight of a bearded traveller who could create fire seemingly out of thin air. Soon, a crowd had gathered around Bronn. He was sitting cross-legged on the ground, his cloak draped around him like a protective cocoon. Bronn reached into his backpack and pulled out the ancient book. The pages were slightly yellowed with age and filled with handwritten text. With a theatrical flourish that would make any magician proud, he opened it to a marked page. The soft light from the campfire illuminated the illustrations that adorned the margins. His lilting voice filled the air as he began to tell his first tale, a story called The Luminous Heart. Once upon a time, Bronn said, there was a young princess named Aurelia. She had one of those rare hearts that radiated an otherworldly golden glow around her chest, a glow that others could see when they gazed upon her. Aurelia brought warmth and light to everyone she encountered. One day, Aurelia was roaming the kingdom's lush forests and she stumbled upon an injured fawn. The poor little thing whimpered as its delicate leg was trapped in a thorny bush. Aurelia didn't hesitate. She tenderly freed the baby deer while comforting it with soothing words and gentle touches. And from that moment on, the fawn became her loyal companion. It didn't take long for news of Aurelia's heart and her compassionate nature to spread like wildfire across the kingdom. People flocked from all corners of the land to witness the girl with the luminous heart who had won over the baby deer. Truth be told, they hoped to bask in the glow of her presence and possibly even be touched by her kindness. But as sometimes happens, as her fame spread wider, Aurelia began to feel overwhelmed. Then, one day, a weary traveller arrived at the castle gates longing for just a glimpse of the girl with the luminous heart. Deeply proud of his daughter's gift, the king granted the traveller an audience with Aurelia. As the traveller approached, Aurelia noticed a hint of sadness in his eyes. His voice was hushed as he confessed to her that his heart felt heavy, burdened by the woes of the world. He had journeyed far to seek solace in her light, but he feared that his heart may have lost its own glow. Aurelia listened and took the man's hand in her own. She told him that her glow was never meant to be anyone else's light. Instead, it was meant to remind him of the light that already resided within him. She then gave him a piece of advice that her grandmother, one of the wisest women to ever live in the kingdom, had once given her. The love and kindness that people showed to others was the true source of light. Hearts shone the brightest in the simplest acts of compassion. Hearing these words, the traveller became aware of a warm sensation in his chest. As he embraced Aurelia, he received a gentle nudge from the fawn and felt a newfound sense of peace and hope swirl within him. Inspired by her wisdom, he even took off on a journey of his own, following the advice she had shared and spreading acts of kindness wherever he went. The traveller wasn't the only one to learn an important lesson that day. Aurelia's eyes were opened to her true purpose. It wasn't to be admired for her luminous heart or the bond she had with the fawn. She was meant to use both gifts to help guide others so they could discover the light that they carried within themselves. With the fawn by her side, Aurelia continued to roam the kingdom from that day forward. As she shared her stories and showed others how to care for another creature, even she had to admit that her heart had grown, glowing brighter and brighter. Aurelia's good deeds set off a chain reaction, and soon harmony and joy flourished through the kingdom as people learned how to let their own heart shine. Once the storyteller's first tale came to a close, there was a comfortable silence. But, although the story had concluded, the audience was far from ready to leave the comfort of the campfire. They all wanted to hear more of Brom's fairy tales, and they implored him to indulge them with another one. With a smile, Brom obliged, flipping through his book to find one of his favorite stories. He glanced around at the townsfolk and said that this story was called the Song of the Whispering Trees. As he told the crowd that there was once a forgotten realm blessed with an ancient forest, the adults and children alike all leaned forward to listen. In that realm Brom continued lived a young boy by the name of Illa. This lad possessed a unique gift as he was able to understand the whispering trees in that fabled forest. These majestic trees held secrets and wisdom acquired through the passage of time, and they sang enchanting melodies that only Illa could hear. Without fail, every day Illa would find his way into the heart of the forest, winding through the peaceful place to where the trees stood the tallest. There he would take a seat on the ground and lean against one of the tree trunks. And he would listen to them whisper their stories of times long past and of heroes who once walked the land. The trees all sounded different. The younger ones had soft, delicate voices that reminded Illa of the tinkling of wind shims. And the older, more mature trees had voices that were deep and resonant, like the slow, rich tones of a cello. The boy appreciated how the trees had been witnessed to the rise and fall of civilizations, Qing history as it was made. But he also understood that they simply longed for someone to hear their tales. That someone being him. One day Illa ventured deeper into the forest, noticing something amiss in the trees' melodies. He approached the oldest tree and asked why its song wasn't like it usually was, full of vigor and happiness. The tree's reply came in a soft whisper. It told the boy that all the trees felt disconnected from the world that existed beyond these woods. There had been a time when the trees were revered and cherished by all. But now, said the tree, it was as if the whole forest had been forgotten. Upon hearing this, Illa vowed to try to change the situation. There was power in the tree's songs that he understood only too well. He had enough power to inspire and unite the world if only the people could hear them. That's when Illa decided to do something about it. Gathering his courage, he set off to share the tree's stories with the world beyond the forest, travelling to nearby villages and towns. At first, the people he came across were skeptical of his tales of the talking trees. But soon, his earnestness and the unmistakable conviction in his eyes captured their curiosity. Slowly but surely, the stories the boy told began to spread across the land, and wherever they were heard, hearts were enchanted. A change occurred as more people listened to the stories of the whispering trees. Communities were brought closer together, and people started to cherish the world around them. Before, the forests were taken for granted, but now they were seen as sacred places, and individuals from all walks of life began to plant new trees. Then, the day came when word about Illa and his extraordinary gift reached the king. Eager to witness the magical phenomenon for himself, he invited the boy to the royal palace. Before long, Illa found himself in the grand hall, standing before an impressive crowd, comprised of the king, his courtiers, and the people of the kingdom. As he closed his eyes and began to hum a soft melodic tune, a room fell silent. And that simple tune prompted the opening of a channel. A hushed whisper swept through the air, the voices of the whispering trees filling the hall. The king and his court listened in awe to the stories that unfolded. Everyone in that room heard tales of the beauty of nature and stories of courage and forgiveness. Tears welled in the king's eyes. It didn't take long for him to proclaim that this gift must be shared with all the other kingdoms in the realm. Illa received the king's support in embarking on a grand journey. Soon, he was traversing the lands and sharing the songs of the whispering trees with people far and wide. Those ancient tales had the power of uniting the once divided kingdoms. And the world was made a better place by Illa's gift. As the years passed, the legend grew and Illa's name became synonymous with the magic of nature and the power of storytelling. The whispering trees were celebrated as they should be and no longer forgotten. Over the generations, their melodies continued to inspire, which is how the story of Illa, the boy who could hear the whispering trees, became an enduring fairy tale. By the end of the story, the townspeople were mesmerized. Prompt stories made it seem as if the borders of their little town expanded beyond the horizon and that they were all part of a grand adventure. The people begged the storyteller for more tales. The moon now shone brightly in the dark sky and the stars twinkled as if they too were listening. Another tale to spin, Prompt thought. He loved what he did, bringing these stories to life for others. Looking at the crowd scattered around the campfire, Prompt introduced his next story, the Starlight Weaver. He began by describing a realm of dreams and wishes, where the stars danced across the night sky like fireflies. In that realm lived a young girl, Aquary, named after the Aquarius constellation. Her heart was full of hopes and aspirations. Aquary's days were mainly spent wandering through meadows of vibrant wildflowers, at night time gazing up at the stars with wonder in her eyes. More than anything, she yearned to be a part of the constellations in the night sky. She believed with her whole dreamy heart that her deepest wishes would one day light up the world, just like the stars above did. As she lay beneath a blanket of stars one evening, suddenly she heard a soft, melodious hum coming from above. Aquary looked up, noticing a celestial figure weaving intricate patterns in the starry sky. Somehow she knew that it was the Starlight Weaver. She was a mystical being whose sole purpose was to craft aspirations and dreams into shining constellations. The very same that Aquary was gazing up at now. Full of curiosity, she stood up and spoke to the Starlight Weaver, who was made of pure, glittering stardust. She asked the Great Weaver how she created these magnificent constellations. The shimmering being smiled, and as she spoke, her voice was the sound of tinkling bells. My dear, said the Weaver, every soul carries the power to weave their dreams into the stars. Each dream, no matter how big or how small, adds its own unique brilliance to the night. Aquary was eager to learn more and asked how she could weave her own dreams into the stars. In response, the Weaver descended from the sky like a wisp of shimmering smoke. Extending her hand, she placed it over Aquary's heart, and she told the girl that it all began with believing in the magic already within her. Close your eyes, the Weaver said, and imagine your dreams. Feel them pulsate in your heart like the rhythm of the cosmos. Aquary did precisely that, closing her eyes and envisioning her greatest dreams. In the blink of an eye, a surge of energy flowed through her. Her heartbeats synchronized with the stars, and her eyes were filled with the magic. The hum of the universe and a radiant light began to emanate from her chest. In awe, Aquary opened her eyes to see one of her dreams materialize. It turned into glittering, silvery threads that playfully started to intertwine with the stars above. Then, the Weaver advised the girl to watch closely. She gracefully flicked her hand, and the threads of light wove themselves into an intricate constellation, representing Aquary's dream. Watching the constellations sparkle and twinkle with the brilliance of her own dream, the girl's eyes widened with wonder. It's beautiful, she whispered. The Weaver smiled as she explained that every dream has its place in the universe. When Aquary embraced her dreams with unwavering belief, that was when the magic happened. Those dreams would then become a guiding light, illuminating her path. That magical night changed Aquary's life as she became a starlight Weaver herself. She traveled far and wide, using all that she had learned to guide others, so that they too could weave their dreams into the constellations. And over time, the night sky grew into a breathtaking collection of starry dreams. Brom's tale of the starlight Weaver ignited a spark of hope within each listener's heart. Everyone was inspired to look up at the night sky and believe that their dreams too could be woven into the stars to shine brightly for all to see. Although they were starting to feel sleepy, the crowd urged Brom for one last fairy tale to end the night. His fingers were already flipping through his leather-bound book, stopping on one of the last pages. This tale was simply entitled Olly's Story. With the canopy of twinkling stars above and the glow of the campfire illuminating the faces of his mesmerized audience, Brom began his final tale. Once, he said, there was a small village nestled among rolling hills and lush forests. The young boy named Olly lived there. He was a shy and anxious soul, and at times the world seemed like an overwhelming maze. But Olly yearned for that to change. Like the nights featured in the stories of old, the boy longed to be just as young as he was. He was just as brave. And so, one day, he decided to go for a walk in the forest on his own, something he'd never done before. The next day, he walked a little further, and then further still. And as he wandered deeper into the woods, his courage grew. Soon, Olly set out to explore beyond the familiar boundaries of his village and beyond the forest. During his travels, he encountered a wise old sage. He spoke of the power of facing fears and trusting in the magic of connection. With a knowing smile, the sage handed Olly a small glowing pendant, its inner light warm and comforting. The words he whispered would guide Olly for the rest of his life. The sage told him to always remember how the choices he made would ultimately shape his destiny. Afterwards, Olly's adventures continued. And along the way, he encountered other travelers who were battling their own fears and anxieties. He realized that he wasn't alone. Some of his fellow travelers even became his friends, joining him on his journey. And throughout the challenges they faced, they helped to support and guide each other. Every time they crossed a treacherous river or braved a dark forest, the pendant around Olly's neck would glow and light their way. With each challenge, Olly discovered the strength to overcome his fears. He would draw upon that newfound courage that had bloomed inside him. There came an occasion when he arrived at a breathtaking clearing with ancient trees surrounding it and the sky full of stars. Much to his surprise, Olly had stumbled across a gathering of storytellers. Each one had traveled from afar to share their tales, just like him. When it was finally Olly's turn to tell his story, he stood before the others, feeling a blend of nerves and excitement. But his new friends offered him words of encouragement, giving him the strength to take a deep breath and begin. He spoke to them about his first solitary walks in the forest, the wise words of the sage, and the magic of friendship that had guided his journey. At that moment, Olly truly understood the power of sharing. He was able to see each listener's face light up with recognition and how their own struggles were mirrored in his tale. The crowd was united by a collective understanding. The knowledge that they were not alone alleviated their fears and anxieties. As the final words of Olly's story echoed through the clearing, the sky above seemed to shimmer with approval. In the peaceful silence that followed, Olly gently tucked the pendant into his pocket. To him, a piece of jewelry represented the power found in connecting with others. Then he realized something else too. How bravery and vulnerability go hand in hand. By the end of the story, the campfire's embers burned low and Brom's voice had slowly lulled the crowd to sleep. One by one, they drifted off into a world of dreams under the stars. The storyteller knew that the power of his tales would forever shine bright, guiding the townsfolk on their own courageous journeys. In that single night, the bustling town of Willowbrook had become a place of dreams and magic. A place where anything was possible and the burdens of everyday life melted away like morning mist. And that, my friends, is how Brom became a cherished part of Willowbrook's own story. Come morning, he would travel on and wander into another town, leaving behind a trail of enchantment and wonder wherever he went. Spreading hope, love, joy and inspiration was what Brom lived for. And if his stories could prompt even an ounce of those things, then that was a life well lived.
