Summary

Nick Viall interviews three farmers from season four of Fox's 'Farmer Wants a Wife'—Brett (35, cattle/protein bar business), Brayden (26, fifth-generation corn/soybean farmer), and Sean (22, farm-to-table produce)—discussing their motivations for the show, dating challenges in rural areas, lifestyle expectations, and how the accelerated dating format helped them find serious relationships.

Insights
  • Rural dating scarcity drives farmers to reality TV: Small-town dating pools and failed dating app experiences push farmers toward structured reality dating shows as a viable alternative to traditional dating.
  • Lifestyle compatibility is non-negotiable: Farmers prioritize partners who embrace farm work and understand the demanding, non-glamorous reality of agricultural life, not just the romantic fantasy.
  • Accelerated intimacy through isolation: The show's format—removing phones, TV, and distractions—forces authentic conversations earlier than typical dating, revealing compatibility faster than conventional relationships.
  • Family legacy shapes relationship expectations: Multi-generational farms create pressure for partners to commit to a lifestyle and legacy, not just a person, making traditional dating insufficient.
  • Reality TV authenticity matters: Farmers emphasized wanting genuine partners off-camera, not polished versions, recognizing that reality TV contestants often present curated versions of themselves.
Trends
Reality TV as rural dating solution: Niche dating shows targeting specific professions/lifestyles filling gaps left by mainstream dating apps in underserved markets.Farm-to-table restaurant integration: Younger farmers diversifying into hospitality and restaurant businesses alongside traditional agriculture for sustainability and brand building.Traditional relationship values in Gen Z: Younger farmers (age 22) seeking marriage-focused relationships and traditional partners, contrasting with broader dating culture trends.Multi-generational farm businesses: Farmers maintaining family legacy while building parallel businesses (protein bars, seed sales, restaurants) to diversify income.Dating app failure in rural markets: Consistent reports of poor dating app outcomes in small towns, suggesting algorithmic or user base limitations for non-urban areas.Emotional labor expectations: Farmers seeking partners who provide emotional support during high-stress seasons, positioning relationships as operational infrastructure.Authenticity as competitive advantage: Reality TV contestants valuing genuine personality over appearance, suggesting shift in what attracts partners in structured dating environments.Lifestyle gatekeeping in agriculture: Farmers using farm participation as a filter for relationship viability, treating farm work as a compatibility test.Regional dialect and identity: Farmers maintaining strong regional speech patterns and cultural identity despite media exposure, suggesting rural identity resilience.Streaming impact on traditional entertainment: Discussion of movie theater decline and shift to home streaming, with popcorn delivery emerging as retention strategy.

The series follows hardworking farmers in search for real, lasting love. Each farmer hosts a group of single women who leave behind the comfort and convenience of city life for the charms and challenges of country living as they embark on an adventure that could change the course of their lives forever. So now, for all you Basher fans out there, I know many of you are listening. You all remember the season with Chris Soules. This is like bachelor crystals on steroids. With three. With three. You get three handsome, sexy farmers who are just doing the Lord's work, trying to feed not only their families, but America. But also America's families. And they also deserve love. So this is really Fox going out of the way to make sure that the most salt of the earth people are our farmers. And are finding love. The people who put food on our table are worthy of love. And today we have the distinct pleasure of introducing your next three farmers. So without further ado, let's introduce your farmers. All right. Well, our first farmer is Farmer Brett. He is 35 years old. He is from Savannah, Tennessee. He lives on a thousand acre farm, family owned. He's a Southern boy. Brett grew up on the family farm and rode bulls to impress the ladies until a few broken bones convinced him to trade rodeo for the boardroom. He built and sold a successful protein bar business, and now he's headed home to launch his own cattle operation. A family man at heart, Brett's ready to start a new chapter. This time, it's about love, legacy, and building a life with the woman of his dreams. Brett kind of sounds like he has some money. I mean, he sold his protein bar business. Well, let's find out. Let's get a chance to get to know Brett. All right. Giddy up, Brett. Come. You're beside me. You're right there, man. Yes, Natalie. Great to meet you. You excited, Brett? Yeah, buddy. Always. I imagine this whole experience has been quite different than anything you've ever done before. A little bit. A little bit. Yeah, I mean, it was a lot of fun. You know, I really just kind of went into it with no expectations on anything. Just letting it come as it comes and ended up being really cool. Yeah, well, we are excited to get to know you along with the rest of your farmers. Next up, we have Farmer Brayden. He is 26 from Homer, Illinois, lives on a 3,000 acre farm. Brayden is a fifth generation corn and soy bean farmer who grew up balancing football games with farm chores. When he's not in the fields, you'll find him with his guitar performing at his local bars. His ideal match is down to earth, kind hearted women with a big personality and great sense of humor. She'd be driven to work hard for her dreams, loves a fun Saturday night out, but is still up for church on Sunday. Brayden's fairytale ending is marriage and starting a family on the farm his grandfather built. Beautiful. That's a great intro. Beautiful. You had a good one. I was like, oh, that's right. That's hard to talk right there. No, no, no. You had a good one, too. So we'll bring in Brayden. Hello. How are you? Hello. Good. Nice to meet you. Nice to meet you. I'm Natalie. How you doing, Brayden? Good. Just hanging out. Just dating a bunch of women. Yeah. Well, let's get to our third and final farmer. farmer is farmer Sean. He is 22 from Solvang, California. He works on a 22-acre family farm where they grow tomatoes, squash, peaches, pears, figs, kiwis, and avocados, all produce from their family-owned farm-to-table restaurant called The Gathering Table in Solvang, California. They also service their other restaurants across California. His goal is to expand their farming elements to be able to service even more restaurants in the future. Sean is at a stage in life where he is ready for a serious relationship and knows what he is looking for in a woman. Farmer Sean. Let's bring him in. There he is. There he is. Hey, Farmer Sean. Have a seat right there. Welcome, boys. Congratulations on being the next farmer for Farmer Wants a Wife. Thank you. Appreciate it, man. I guess I just got to know, like, how did you guys, I mean, the show, we're in season four, we've had three successful seasons. What was your familiarity with the show prior to getting the call of if that's how it all went down i'd heard of the show i've never watched it all right never seen it before um so i didn't have any familiarity with it like i mean it was more just i just knew what it was one of my rodeo buddies was on the first season weirdly enough and i like happened to see it on tv at a bar one night and uh so that was about as much as i had from it okay and how is his relationship today couldn't tell you okay i'm like did it work i don't think so okay okay That was just like the testing grounds for it. But, you know, that's the only thing I knew of the show coming into it. Okay. Braden, what about you? Mine was pretty similar. I obviously like heard of it, knew nothing about it, and got an Instagram DM one day. I thought it was fake originally. And I was just like, showed a couple of my buddies. I was like, this is funny. You know, like, they're like, you're going to do it? And I was like, nah, I don't know if that's me. And they're like, just take a phone call. And a phone call led to a Zoom. Zoom led to another thing. And I was like, all right, let's do it. Now you're in love. Yeah. Now here we are. Now you're married. Perfect. All right, Sean. I'm kind of in the same boat. I had never heard of the show whatsoever before going on. And I got reached out to on Instagram one day through a DM. And I thought it was a scam as well. So I was like showing my parents. I was like, look at this like scam message. And they're like, oh, that's crazy. Ended up getting on a phone call that lasted like three hours. and they were like, there's 40,000 applicants that want to come on this show and they want to come meet you. And I was like, this is crazy. And then I was kind of like questioning it in the beginning stages. And then I was just like, kind of looking around, I'm like, I'm only going to be in my twenties once. Why not do it? And I'm so glad I did. Looking back now, it was like the best thing I've ever done in my life. So much fun. I said the same thing, but I'm only in my thirties once. What was y'all's like family's reaction? They, they definitely were mixed in the beginning. at least in my shoes my parents were kind of just like well like farmer wants a wife you're only 22 like you're going to be going on a show with like a bunch of 30 year old women you're going to get married to them i'm like no my parents definitely along with me had some reservations like i i was like i gotta hear this out all the way through before agreeing to do it but yeah just little by little just kind of i i started running out of reasons not to do it and i was just like you know and same with what you're saying i was just like you know you're young once like why not and yeah glad i did it so but there was definitely some reservations at first for sure no i mean my parents i mean i've done kind of random things throughout my 20s but my parents were just like well i guess it's another thing he's doing so it's not a crazy thing yeah i was like i'm not really going to my parents what do you think about this but yeah when i told them i was i mean i you know i'm the type where it's like if i've got a cool opportunity that has like an upside to it i just do it you never know what can come out of things so it's kind of how it was for me well this episode is all about getting to know the three of you and when you guys are leading the show obviously the idea is that you guys are busy being farmers tending your farms and it's not so easy for anyone to find love these days but certainly when you guys are you know taking over thousands of acres and doing the work, it's harder for, I suppose, farmers to find love. But I am curious to get to know a little bit about each of the three of you and specifically, what has your love lives been leading up to this opportunity and why specifically, other than just being exciting and cool opportunity, why are you guys in the position that you are looking for love? As someone who knows what it's like to be in this world and do it, it's not for the faint of heart. And I am just curious a little bit, I guess, you know, what has your relationships and love lives been that have brought you to this opportunity? Yeah. I mean, you know, for me, I mean, and as y'all know, it's like once you get to a certain point, you know, through relationships, you kind of know what you're looking for. Yeah. And you set sort of a standard for what that's supposed to look like. And if it doesn't reach that standard, it's, you know, there's no harm, no foul in it. It's just not right. so you know for me it was more so of you know if it if it didn't feel right then i didn't like prolong it or entertain it past a certain point because if i mean i'm 35 so like when you're at that age you kind of know what you're what you're wanting and like what you deserve in a relationship right and vice versa what you can give for me like dating up until this point it's like I'm looking for the right one not just someone and I you know dated plenty of women but you know they hadn't been that one so I'll you know going on something like this a show where you're meeting people that you would never meet in any other circumstance you'd never meet them in another lifetime it just gives you an opportunity to actually find someone and you're thrown into a situation where you've got to be with them and only with them you know no phone no tv nothing like that and um that was really appealing to me it's like being back in the 90s early 2000s before social media it's like you just had to be with that person so I was really excited about that and you know it turns out that it was a really great decision the way that it played out yeah I mean I couldn't really see it better than that you know it's pretty similar you know dated a little bit but I always kind of had like again that standard and then I just always had the thought process like getting older just like if I don't see myself like marrying this person, like why am I dating them? You know what I mean? So, you know, I've always been kind of picky and just never really wanted to sell too much. But yeah, like dated some girls, you learn a lot. And then going through this process, you know, again, I had some reservations just because, sure, you know, it's a crazy world. You're like diving right into it. And, but yeah, it ended up being a really great decision and kind of piggyback off what you're saying. Is it, I was kind of blown away by how like, real it became because I was kind of going on to it not really having too many expectations just kind of going to open mind open heart and just kind of went in I was like oh boy you know what I mean and uh but it is kind of like a sped up process obviously like you're speed dating these girls but it forced you to have these like conversations that wouldn't come until like a few months in of like dating them in the real world you know what I mean so like you kind of didn't have time to beat around the bush. And that's something I really liked about it. You're kind of like, Hey, this is me. This is you take it or leave it. How big of a town is Homer? Not big, not big, not big. Yeah. It's, it's just a map dot. Yeah. So, but I'm not originally from there. Uh, a lot of my family's from there and our farms there. Uh, but I grew up in a, another small town, like right by. So, but they're all small towns. So yeah. What about you, Sean? Well, although I am 22 years old, I'm on the younger side of this show, at least I definitely am kind of more of like an old soul and more traditional. So I am looking to like settle down and get married relatively soon here. And I think it's pretty like for at least for my age bracket, I think a lot of people in their young twenties, they just kind of want to have fun sometimes or like at least want to get into serious relationships for, for me, I'm really looking for the one. And I think this show was a perfect opportunity to do that because when they originally reached out to me they were like what are you looking for in a woman what are the qualities you want to see and we went down the list of everything that I wanted and they did such a good job at finding those girls and I really just couldn't be happier with the outcome like it was such an amazing experience and I'm like same thing as you guys said I think as you date people in your life you like understand what you're looking for and I think it this period of my life it came at like the perfect time because I knew what I was looking for and I found it so Has it been difficult? I mean, prior to this opportunity, I mean, I guess, what is dating like for you guys? I mean, you're assuming all from relatively small towns. I'm guessing it's not like, you know, living in a city where you're, there's always an event or a bar or, you know, hell, there's often like dating, like events for people in big cities. So is it, is it, I'm assuming, is it, is it pretty sparse out there in terms of like, were you guys dating online? Like, what was it like for you guys? And what did that look like? I mean, I grew up in a small town. A lot of like for me, you can do the dating apps and stuff like that. And you just kind of you really strike out, I guess is a good term for it. Like it just seems like it's not really the best way. Like I know people find great relationships out of that. But for me, it just never was. And like I'll go to events and stuff like that. But you kind of for me, like all of my buddies are married, you know, like so most of the people that I'm around are married people. and it is hard today i feel like more more so than ever to like actually find like a genuine person um you know someone that's not just chasing the next best thing or you know that somebody that's actually looking for you know qualities that you have and that you can offer and they love you for who you are it's tough in in that sense but you know also being in like smaller towns and stuff like that, like you don't have any options. But for me, it was more so of just like, you know, like I haven't found that, that person that I, that I'm like in love with or like, you know, that's my one and done type thing. So going on, this was the opportunity that I think that I was looking for. And then, like I said, it's a, it's a chance that you can find somebody that you don't get to meet. That's kind of what it was for me. It was like kind of getting out of outside of like, you know, my hometown just to see, you know, what I could find outside of that. Yeah. I mean, the same thing with like the apps, that was never a huge thing for me. It just, it was a dead end road. I feel like all the time, just like, but again, I never really gave it a shot, I guess. But, but yeah, growing up in a small town, like, you know, everybody, like I know everybody in my town and it kind of gets down to like, oh, you know, like the good ones. moved away or like it's almost like hey well i guess we have to get married now but that happens a lot like people i know a lot of people and it like a lot of times it works out and it's great like high school sweethearts and then but sometimes it gets to the point where they're just like, oh, well, we've been dating for eight years now, I guess, I guess get married now. It's the next thing to do. And I was always different there. Cause I was just like, I wanted to be somebody who like, like you said, one and done, like, I'm just like crazy about this person. And so that's like, you kind of go on this process and you're just like, I mean, it is like build a wife to a certain extent, which was pretty uncomfortable and blown away at first, but like, you know they do do a really good job with like the matchmaking and like I said you don't beat around the bush like you're just like hey this is me and you know I was fortunate enough I felt like you know my journey on this was everybody was pretty honest and real and I didn't really know how to be anything else so it it did work out for me but yeah it's very the dating pool in a small town is very, very slim, very small. So yeah. Well, um, I actually grew up on a small town in Hawaii, um, on the Island Maui and I was really young back then. And then I moved to Orange County when I was getting like 10 or 12 years old, we were doing the transition. And then when I was 15, my family bought our farm in Santa Barbara County. So I kind of like lived in like kind of more like city areas and more like farm town areas. So I have dated around in different areas. So I've had kind of like different experiences of it, but I would say when I was younger, I definitely kind of got a taste of like dating in like a city. And I, again, like I just really figured out that I'm looking for more of like a traditional woman. And I think it's kind of hard to find that nowadays, especially in California and like an Orange County area. And then I got up to like Santa Barbara County and there definitely not a lot of people out there Like I mean there is people out there but I mean I gave dating apps a shot and I have some friends that have met some really good people through dating apps and they had successful relationships through it But still again like I just didn find any like keepers through that And I just before the show I was single for like about a year and I would just kind of say to myself like I just going to wait and hold out till I find the one And through the show, I think it was just like the perfect timing for me to have that opportunity come into my life to find that girl I've been looking for for such a long time. Are y'all allowed to say that y'all are in love? You're married. You're taken. You're. Did it work out? Did it not work out? Like, are y'all allowed to say? Let's go ahead and say, sure. Yeah. I think we, I think we say it worked out. Yeah. It worked out. Okay. Yeah. All right. I think it worked out for all of us. So for any of like. We're excited to watch. You can find out on Fox the next day. a big premise of the show is it's is the idea that you guys are living these fairly atypical lives you know the idea of you know almost farmer sure seems like almost like a an ancient job that like you know everyone used to have but like it's like oh shit yeah you know that's still a lifestyle exists quite honestly as we talked about before i introduced you guys you guys are the salt of the earth you're feeding america are you putting food on our tables I use that term a lot. But it's, it's, you know, it's a lifestyle that I imagine many of the women who showed up weren't necessarily used to, or even prior to this opportunity. Right. I imagine when you guys were out there dating, maybe meeting some women on apps or just out and about when they found out that like what you did for work or what your lifestyle was, it brought some complications. So like, I'm curious, what has it been like leading up into this opportunity, uh, when you would say, Hey, well, this is what I do for a living. And this is what a life looks like with me. Yeah. I mean, I think Brayden's got a, the better, you know, answer for that one, just because Brayden is like an actual crop farmer. That boy provides the corn for the country. And, uh, you know, like it's a little, we're a little bit different. Like, you know, I grew up mostly with cattle and horses and stuff like that. And, you know, still do stuff with horses today. And it's kind of funny because it's like you do have girls that are coming into this particular show where it's like they see the movies or they read the books and they're like, I want that lifestyle. And it's like, get there. And it's like, you don't want this lifestyle. You know, like it's not you. Yeah, right. Right, right. And you have girls also that come on where it's like they've been around, like for me, like horses or cattle or whatever. and they're you know somewhat used to it but um not everybody understands like what actually goes into that sort of stuff where it is like where you're getting up early like if you got cattle during calving season like you're working like it's not it's not like you know rainbows and unicorns like everybody thinks it is but i will say this like for for mine and i'm sure it's the same for y'all like the girls that that i had most of them they were very open to like doing these things and like actually like putting in the type of work that you have to put in, which is really cool to see. So for me, I thought it was like overall a really cool experience. And like you get to show people, you know, stuff that you love and stuff that you grew up doing and, you know, and things that you want to continue to do in the future. And if you're not on board with that, then it's not. Have those been deal breakers before of like bringing a girl home and then trying to show her kind of your lifestyle and her being like, I don't know. I don't want to. that's that's hard or that's dirty or that's is that a deal breaker or is that for me yeah it really was like a lot what you said is like you know it's kind of like i don't know who said the fairy tale like you know everybody thinks they want a farmer because they're like oh country boy a farmer you know it's appealing then you get down to it and then it's just like hey like there's you know you're working a lot like there's you know and it's up and down and but that was another big reason for me kind of going through this is like you know it's also an opportunity to really show a side of the world that a lot of people aren't familiar with like a lot of people don't understand everything that goes into farming and like there's a ton of stuff in it I mean you got to be you got to be a mechanic you got to be a businessman you got to be an accountant like you got to be an agronomist I mean you got to be all these things and like it really there's like a lot that goes into it and it can be a very stressful job just because mother nature is your boss but yeah for me like that has been a deal breaker because like you know it's a family farm and like it started with you know I'm a fifth generation so like it's such a family thing like and the cliche saying is it's not your career it's your lifestyle it really is like a lifestyle and it's something like it's impossible to do if you don't love it so you gotta love it and so being with somebody who like doesn't love it it's it's really difficult so for me just in my past like yeah it's been tough because it's like hey like i can't move you know i'm like this is like this farm's me you know so if you don't it's hard to think you love me if you don't love the farm because it's not like yeah well we can live here for five years exactly i'll get to move somewhere city yeah and a lot of people have told me they're like oh well like corn grows in this state and i'm like yeah it doesn't really work that way i can't really pick it all up but but no it was good to just kind of and you know hopefully y'all will see that too on the show it's just kind of like you'll be like wow i didn't understand like what goes all in that like you know the corn we're farming isn't just like corn on the cob you know i mean like like we haul a lot to frito lay which makes dorito chips like that's where a lot of our corn goes and the girls were like really impressed with that so i was like next time you eat a bag of doritos we know where it's coming from but no it was it was a good good thing and you know we had a lot of fun so and as sean is yours Is it kind of the same? I know you're farm to table. It's similar. So I would say I'm more focused on like the business and sourcing part of farming. So we have an orchard on our property and we grow produce on our property, but we also source all of our ingredients within a 50 mile radius of our restaurant. We serve like a lot of fish products, but like our menu at the restaurant is very seasonal. So it all is like changed up every week or month. And that's what we really focus on. But I would say for sure, like we, I mean, on my farm, we still have like cattle and horses and alpacas and goats and chickens and all kinds of farm animals. And I think I can confidently say like everyone did all the farm work with a big smile on their face. And there really wasn't any issues or like in terms of like anyone complaining, like honestly, everyone had so much fun doing the farm work. And now I know you mentioned that was a big part for you. Like, hey, you know, fifth, we see a fifth generation. but I'm curious for both of you was your partner's participation in like the work and waking up and really embracing it just as significant as it was to you or is it more like you know as long as she's this kind of like supportive happy to be here and supportive of what I'm doing she can you know or is it like does it is that not really an option with with your guys's lifestyle I would say I'm looking for a girl that's like not afraid to get her hands dirty like I would want a girl that like wants to be adventurous with me and like wants to put in some hard work but i mean i also appreciate like a feminine woman that wants to get dressed up and go out to like a nice dinner so kind of like the mix of like best of both worlds so that's what i'm looking for yeah i mean right yeah brayden's like this is life right um you know for me like i own two separate companies tequila company and a protein bar company so like what i do is more so of like like we have horses and stuff and if you think that like to what you're asking like is it a turnoff kind of yeah if you don't want to like go out there and like actually do the stuff but you want to own the things and then it's just me doing all the stuff like that's cool but it's not like the ideal situation that's yeah it's not like having a partner yeah yeah yeah but it's like if you've got somebody that wants to go out there and like if they don't know anything about it they want to learn about how to do it and they want to be a part of it just as much as you are, then that's kind of what your hopes are. Because like you said, it's not glamorous. I mean, it can be. But when you're going out there and you've got horses, for example, and you've got to chew them or bathe them, feed them, all those things, exercise them. You need somebody that can actually go out and do those things rather than just like, I want the horses or I want many Highland cows or, you know, chickens or goats or whatever. My sister owns a 400 acre animal farm. And I lived with her for two years out of high school and college. And she was like, if you're going to live with me, like you got to, her husband's a doctor. So if he doesn't help, you know, she's like, you got to, you got to work. You got to work. And it was, yeah, it was a lot. It was, you think it's like, oh, this is so fun. All these animals. And then it's like, no, you need to go melt that cow. You got to chase that cow in that pasture. bring it up here and they're not and it's not easy no like they're stubborn like it sucks sometimes and i'll disclaim something here like with what you were talking about like with a ranch style farm like where you got cattle and like animals and stuff there is a lot of like chores and stuff for what i do like a lot of people are surprised they'll ask me a question about a cow i'm like i don't know the first thing and they're like what kind of farmer doesn't know about a cow and like one that doesn't have any. How seasonal is like your, your job? So are you out there every day? I mean, like regardless every day, like there's always something to do, but like spring and fall, that's like, especially fall. Like that's when we're harvesting. Those are like eat, sleep farm, you know what I mean? And I also sell seed for a seed company. So basically I'm a seed rep for a big seed company. Like we get supplied seed to plant and we sell to other farmers so we do that so we're busy when we're not busy but like kind of what i was talking about like yeah i want somebody who's like supportive of that life i'm not asking like some girl to be like you know come hop in the tractor and like work this 80 you know i mean like i'm not looking yeah i'm not looking for that like i'm not working looking for a co-worker biggest thing is like i'm looking for someone who can support that life because like like i said there there can be some stressful days where you know you come home and something broke or it rained and you can't get done what you want to get done and my dad always has this old saying the check's out in the field and you gotta go grab it because or else it'll blow away you know what I mean so like old farmer talk there but like that's kind of what I look for is just someone to lean on and again not not looking for a co-worker just someone yeah can lean on well we hear this season has a couple of twists that there typically has not been. We are allowed to tease a few. One being that y'all pick the five women to come back to the farm with you, but then you have the option to accept the one that your family chose for you. Is that right? Yeah. So that's later down the road. Yeah. They pick a girl and we get introduced to them like kind of midway through. All right. Okay. Was it an original cast pick or was it like a random they just worked with? We had no idea. Yeah, we had no idea. It came out of nowhere. Okay. Yeah. So like, I mean, it's hard to, you know, try to tease it as much as you can. But essentially, we had no idea it was coming when it came. Okay. We kind of had an idea that it was going to happen, but we had no idea when it was happening or who it was going to be or anything like that. So, you know, the typical bombshell type scenario. Okay. Wow. Another thing we heard is that one of the ladies jumped ship. Yeah. Uh-oh. So to speak. Yeah. Did you guys anticipate having to feel like you guys were competing with one another? Or did you get any point? No. I mean, like, we all were pretty quick buddies. We got along. Yeah. And I remember. I mean, but when that happened, though, it was like a surprise for all of us. Oh, man. Yeah. You know, you go through the speed dating, like, at the very beginning. And then it's like, you have your set of girls. Everybody has their set of girls. And so, you know, when that happened, we were all just like, what is happening? What's going on right now? Can you even do that? Can we switch? I'm just kidding. I loved all my girls. Sorry, guys. But no, but it was, I mean, it was as shocking to us as it was for anybody. Because I don't think anybody knew it was coming up. Sure, sure. And you don't know how to like react to something like that. You're just kind of like. Yeah. Because I don't think, again, like, are you allowed to do this? Like, well, how are we supposed to react to this? I don't think anybody else knew what was going on. Like, I think it just happened. Yeah. It wasn't like a planned thing where they were like, we're going to, you know, we're going to throw some, throw some curve balls in here. I'm excited to see how that unfolds. You guys will obviously, unfortunately, well, unfortunately maybe for the viewers, because we all love the drama, but unfortunately you guys, part of this process is breaking some hearts. You know, you're not, you might be dating five to six women, but you're only going to end up with one. And I am curious, knowing that, have any of you experienced your own heartbreak leading up to this experience? Oh, yeah. All the time. No, I mean, yeah, I mean, it's just part of life. I mean, we've all gone through that. I mean, we've talked about that a lot, even on the show. I mean, that question gets brought up constantly, you know. But yeah, I mean, of course you have. like for me at least like i mean i've loved girls and you know you had a few where you thought they were the one and they're not and what was your longest relationship prior to this experience two years two years somewhere around there how about you bro yeah mine was about half a year honestly not that long again like i said i i was always kind of like if i really don't see this you know but yeah for me two years i've always like kind of had the mindset of like dating to married even when I was younger. Um, but yeah, I've always been looking for like long-term relationships, nothing short-term, but yeah, I think I have dated in the past though, where it has been a short-term thing, but it's been more of like, I realized that she wasn't the one. So I'm just like, I don't want to waste my time. Okay. Yeah. Well, let's have a little bit of fun here. I am curious about what your, what your guys' types are. Uh, I know obviously we've talked at length about, uh, uh, her, uh, interest and ability to be supportive of the lifestyle and the grittiness and dirtiness of being a farmer but uh is this your average guys i am curious like what are some of your you know because i'm assuming it sounds like in the casting process you guys were fairly involved working with producers about like the interest you have and and the type of women you're looking to date for me they they it was kind of like a long zoom call and they were just kind of going through the list of like all right what are you looking for in your future wife and all these qualities like even physical attributes and everything and i would love to it's kind of weird though like how did you build your wife yeah but but show of hands blondes or brunettes i said either or yeah honestly i've dated redheads i've dated blondes like let's say i had two brunettes and three blondes okay so it was funny like the brunettes were like he's into blind like you know it's not us because he's into blind like something like that But I mean, I was pretty clear about it. I was like, Ted, I don't care. Just if I get along with you, I get along with you. Like, obviously, I've got to be attracted to you. But it's more so of, you know, who you are as a person, personality. Like, if I hang out with you, that's all I care. That's all that matters. Right. Yeah. I mean, I know the cop-out question. The answer is, you know, I don't have a type, you know, but like hair color. Yeah. Kind. like just like yeah somebody like being around i mean like if you could be the prettiest girl on earth and like if you have nothing to talk about it's just kind of like that's kind of brutal for me was that hard in the beginning of this show obviously i'm sure everyone is nervous there's like some awkwardness did you kind of judge those first conversations are we all like you know what let me give them the benefit of the doubt because this is an awkward situation and uh i think in the very beginning i think we were all we i remember we all met up and they were like are you guys nervous and we're all looking around like no and they were like come on guys like act like you're nervous we even said that before this i was like they're like are you guys nervous before this and i'm like not i mean like it's such a surreal thing and crazy thing we're doing where i don't think any of us really would have wasn't on the bingo card it's not something you like always dreamed of happening yeah so you're like wow i've always wanted this it's hard to like be nervous about it which i don't know if that sounds dumb i think it's just like for me at least like i really wasn nervous at all until we got like introduced like into the barn where we first got like called out and like i was fine and then i like look around the corner and I see like 50 cameras and all these lights and I like kind of just like had this like realization moment like almost like a deer in headlights and I was like how the hell did I get here what am I doing here and I just like almost like blacked out to myself remember the producers were like Sean you're about to walk in like are you ready and I'm just kind of sitting there like uh like what's happening right now and then I walked in and like after I met all the girls I was fine but it was just like that first shock moment I was just like I am not used to this at all we're sitting outside the barn and they were like just screaming like several times i think they were telling them i don't know we're like sitting out there just talking shooting the shit and then like we just hear screaming yeah from the barn and we're like oh boy so most of your lives are you know small town kind of a slower pace but do you any of you three enjoy traveling do you guys like getting to the big cities now and then? Like how country are you guys? And I'm curious throughout this process, were any of the women you dated hoping that's just kind of like, hey, I like this lifestyle. I can get nitty and gritty, but I also take me to a show. You know, like I do want to get on a plane and maybe have a weekend in the city now and then and get a little mix of both worlds. Or is it more, hey, I'm a farmer. I'm not leaving. It is what it is. This is it. You know, for me, it's like I like the balanced lifestyle of it. I mean, being, you know, being in my hometown and stuff is great because it's a slow pace and you can kind of detox and get away from noise. But at the same time, like I love being in Nashville. Like I love, you know, being, you know, around people and around events and things like that. I did a lot of stuff like Folds of Honor like go to all their events and stuff and that's fun to me and so like obviously it's better to have somebody that can do both right it's like somebody that doesn't mind getting their hands dirty and doing you know fun stuff in you know the farming world but also like somebody that you want to travel never been on a subway though I've never been to New York matter of fact but that's the only thing I can think of was subways I feel like that's going to change but yeah but like i mean i i've i've kind of lived another place i've lived here in california before i've lived in seattle like fort worth texas like i've jumped around and so i enjoy traveling a lot like i love the mountains like love going out to the mountains but if you have somebody that can you know is cool with that and you know that's i think that's more ideal than somebody who's like we're we're in this county and that's yeah you know yeah which yeah i mean I love traveling. I love going places. I've also never been on a subway. We're just going to have to do a subway trip. Get these guys on a subway trip. But no, I'm not one of those people who are just like, we're never leaving, you know, staying on a farm. But like, yeah, I love going places and seeing new places. And like, I don't hate the city. I don't think I could live in the city. Like you're saying, like, you got to get away from it, at least for me. but um yeah like i love going down to nashville i've been down there quite a bit and coming out here was cool you know and but yeah sean is how involved in your family's restaurant is your partner are you looking for your partner so i my family has deep roots in the restaurant industry my dad started making restaurants when he was in his 20s and from a super young age here in california when i was 15 years old i started working the family restaurants and i worked my way from like the very bottom like level positions like I was bussing tables and I was like um I eventually worked my way up to like serving and bartending and then management roles and then my dad I've been working alongside him for the past like three years now kind of looking more towards like the management slash business side of things and eventually seeing how I can like take over my family's legacy long term but I would say I definitely want a partner that wants to be involved with it I mean they don't have to be like my business partner but are you doing more with like the produce and stuff like on your farm for sure so i mean i i absolutely like when i was younger like i put in some very hard work in my property and i still do like as much as i can but i think i'm looking for more of like how can i make this lifestyle sustainable so i have to kind of lean more into it's like the business side of things and be like all right i need to figure out how i can do this long term you have a favorite thing to grow i would say tomatoes for sure it's funny because i actually used to hate tomatoes when i was a kid and now i love tomatoes so can you cook i can cook pretty well i mean i really like cooking steaks um but i mean i'm not the chef at the restaurant or anything we have a really talented chef at the gathering table and he's he's this french indonesian guy and he just is like an absolute artist with his food so it's it's very fulfilling and i think the coolest part is like seeing where the produce comes from and then seeing it come to the restaurant the same day and then eating that for dinner and it's like such a fulfilling lifestyle to see the process of that. It's in Santa Barbara? It's in Santa Barbara County. Do y'all do farmer's markets? We do, yeah. We do farmer's markets as well. So there's Santa Barbara, and then a little bit inland, there's a little area called Santa Ynez Valley. And it's a beautiful area. Whenever you guys get the chance. Friends of ours got married in Solvang. It's beautiful. It really is. Yeah, it's really become almost like the new Napa of Los Angeles County. The wine culture there has really grown the past couple years. So we really try to focus on farm to table, but also pairing our food with local wineries and like all kinds of stuff. So there's a lot of fun ventures involved with it. Brett, what was more intimidating, riding a bull, starting a business, or falling in love again? Falling in love. When I was riding bulls, I was young and dumb and didn't have, you know, the fear that I would have now getting on one. Was there a PBR dream attached to that or was it just like, I'm just having fun? I thought the girls would like it, so that's what I did. no i mean i i didn't like grow up bull riding or rodeoing or anything you are tall for a bull rider so six inches too tall yeah uh so like it wasn't you know it was just kind of something where i honestly like i i got bored and when i was like 19 and i was like i wasn't playing sports anymore and i was just like what can i do to fulfill adrenaline rush and for some reason it landed on bull riding but no i mean i think falling in love honestly is like one of the scariest things to do uh but like i said all of it was all it's been fun um starting the businesses it's always got its ups and downs and but yeah i mean it's it was great and the whole process of everything was great i'm curious what what are some of your guys's pet peeves when it comes to dating y'all go ahead pet peeves when it comes to dating i mean like i said before i'm looking for more of like a traditional woman. So a girl that like, I think nowadays in dating culture, like what I hate is the modern day and age of like playing the game, they call it. Or like, there's this back and forth where you like girls will wait like hours to respond to your text message or like all these random things. I just like hate all that fake stuff. Like if you like someone, like tell them, like you don't need to sit there and like pull this like back and forth thing. So I think the modern day and age of like playing games or like sleeping around, like just not stuff I'm into. So I think I'm definitely more towards like the traditional sense of like finding one person committing to them for the rest of your life. Yeah. I agree with all that. But humility is big for me. Like I don't, my biggest turnoff is that kind of like I'm all that and a bag of chips. You know what I mean? Like I just can't. Bag of Fritos. Bag of Fritos. Frito-Lay. You're welcome. no but like just like i don't really know how to explain it it's just like humility is huge and like common just like decent respect for other people like i i believe in like you give the same respect that you're given and you know if you bring a girl around your friends and she's just like just off-putting stuff like that that's just like really big for me so yeah humility do guys have any like silly ones like or just i'm curious like what for the what are some of yours yeah give us an example well i mean i'm also i'm just curious about like what are your guys's like maybe even like bad habits that the lady who ends up with you guys is gonna have to like put up with like for me i don't know how to close a cabinet to save my life oh dude i've got the same thing yeah what is that hear the like beep beep beep beep i don't know you know like put a cover on Tupperware? I don't know. I'll get a cup out all the time if you get to close it. I don't understand what that is. It's wrong with my brain. They get on to me about that too. That's weird you said that because I have that same thing. It's been pointed out before. I guess I got a silly pet peeve. This is just people in general. If you get in a car with somebody and they take a phone call or make a phone call when you're in the car with them and it's only you, like two people in the car. Okay, so that's a good pet peeve. That drives me up a wall. No situation? Like what if they're prefacing it by being like, hey man, I'm really sorry. I guess I gotta get a look. That's fine. Like if it's, you gotta take it, whatever, but like. But they're like, they're. No, I'm not busy. Nick, if you're not getting a car and you're just like. Sure, let's chat. I'm gonna call. 20 minute conversation. You know, it's just like, dude, like. That's a good one. That drives me nuts. That's a good one. That is a good one. It drives me nuts. I would just say There's a lot of things that play into respect. And I would just say a girl that's like disrespectful. Are any of you like messy? Dude, can be. I mean, like I'm the type where it's like I'll get to a point and it just drives me nuts and I like clean everything. But up until that point, it's like I'll leave stuff out or forget to put something away. Like Nick is allergic to laundry. He cannot do. She's allergic to. I don't love laundry. To leaving her half drinking cups all over the house. I'll have a cup sitting and I'll go get another cup. That's how it works with us. I'll be like, you got 17 cups in the bedroom. And she's like, well, you have piles of your clothes. We conquer and divide when it comes to, it really works out for us. Like, yeah, she's allergic to dishes. I'm allergic to laundry. Also, I'll do some dishes. I like to cook. you know okay um she's really good at like you know i like to cook for us but like when it comes to our daughter you know like she's she's much better at that with us so uh we're good we're good at that but yeah like that's i mean those are like some of the fun things to hear about because like when it comes to relationship that you guys know like no matter who you guys end up with like you are gonna like this process like as i'm sure you guys know like you're gonna learn a lot about these women but there's so much you're not learning you know and then whoever you guys end up with that's going to be that time where you're just like oh oh okay you do that yeah cool and it's not like a fireable offense you know it's but it's kind of like okay you know like can i live with that or yeah yeah that was probably my biggest concern going into the show was like i think going on to a reality tv show everyone puts their best foot forward and like kind of shows their best version of themselves and then i was kind of like wondering like okay maybe i really like this girl on the show but like when the cameras are gone and everything's turned off like they could be an entirely different person so i think that was probably like the one of the biggest concerns going into the show and like you don't know if like people are there for the right reasons stuff like that so i think through the process i mean you can figure out who someone is but it's hard until you really spend that one-on-one time with them to that it's like very quickly i was like look i want y'all to be who you are yeah like i don't care about who you are when the cameras are on like who are you when they're off exactly so it's like don't wear makeup like wear sweats like i would rather see that version of somebody any day of the week than a dolled up version yes that's the only thing i asked like you know when you get those few moments off camera where i was just like hey just like all i ask is be yourself like just don't like because i mean we're all in it together you don't want to waste their time you don't want to get your time wasted so it's just like just just be real you know and don't let any outside thing like tell you what say or like don't say what you like a big thing for me is like don't tell me what you think I want to hear that was big for me so how much of your family's opinions did y'all act like take into consideration or were you like you know love you guys but I'm gonna do me you know for me I mean that's huge it really is huge and you know i don't have like an overbearing family where they're just like absolutely not but like i mean they know me better than i know me you know i mean so like they kind of give you a different perspective ultimately they're like we're not gonna make this decision for you but like here's what we think and here's and it wasn't so much like what we thought like how they were is more like we can see we see how you're like your body language and stuff with this one more so than this one or like stuff like that so and do y'all any of y'all have sisters i have a sister i do you all have sisters okay and how vocal were they during this process i have a younger sister who's 15 years old and she was like dying to be on the show when she heard that i was going on she's like can i be on it can i be on it and i was like we'll see i don't know so she did end up coming on the show and i really value her opinion because like she's pretty outspoken and she kind of doesn't have a filter at times especially being like super new age and like young and stuff so i she got to go away with both the girls in the end and have a private conversation with them so like i'm curious to see i haven't seen it yet so i don't know what they talked about and i've even asked my sister i was like what did you guys talk about she's like you'll see it on the show and i'm like but uh will we have an opportunity to see any tears run down your face as the show no not for me yeah none of y'all cry there was some tears on the show but not from us yeah um would you guys consider yourselves uh romantic men i would i would what's the maybe the most romantic thing you've ever done for uh a girlfriend i mean honestly well i mean i i don't i'd have to think about like in the past and also i don't want to say you might be like oh this is the most romantic thing yeah and then she's like wait a minute you haven't done that for me i mean like one of the coolest things that you know i've always thought was romantic was actually in the show um because it was like my idea for like one of our dates um i don't want to reveal anything about it but like it was it was like one of those things where you kind of like draw up in your head where it's like oh how cool would this be so we i got the opportunity to do that you know on the show so it's pretty it's pretty cool that was the cool thing i think we all got the opportunity to kind of work with our producers and like designing the activities and the dates that we did on the show so like when they were asking us the same question like what's your most romantic date idea and we would say it and then we would do it on the show yeah so that was the cool i made it kind of cool yeah i asked riley green this question and i kind of broke his brain but do you guys know what your love language is i would say so he said english so we got words of affirmation so you and generally speaking how you receive love is how you like to show love for the most part but you got words of affirmation so you like to be told i love you you're a good person you know you're you're a great partner or you and you communicate that to your partner uh you got acts of service you know so you like to do things for your partner like that's me like i love showing up i like if i can help my partner out if i you know brings me a cup of coffee every morning you know like i like taking care of my people uh gifts you know you're a big gift giver you love receiving gifts quality time you know just like you know hanging out together putting on a you know taking a walk together washing a sunset things like that and physical touch. I mean, those all sound great. Yeah, that's like, that's how I am. I'm like, I'm all five. I think if I was going to pick one, like, is this one that you want to be received or like, generally, they're, they're both right. Uh, they often, I think most people don't realize often the one that you like to do for your partner is kind of a signal that you also enjoy that happening to you. Um, but that's not always the case and you can have more than one. Like some people are like, you know, it's a combination of the two and, or some people it's like, you know, I'm really just like gifts. Like I, you know, gifts does nothing for me, but you know, does a lot for her. So I would say, I would say all five are applicable to me, but I would say if I could only choose one, I would say quality time is probably at the top of my list. I just think it's so valuable to spend quality time with your partner. And I think all the other love language can come from quality time, but I think quality time is just so important. Yeah. I mean, if we're picking one, And I think words of affirmation, like just say what you mean, mean what you say. And, you know, that goes a long way for me. But, you know, acts of service, like I think if I had to pick one that how I like to show it, you know, I like to, like you said, perfectly like show up. Yeah. Like that's that's the biggest thing I think in a relationship is just you got to show up for that person every day. So, yeah. I mean, I think I'm pretty much that same way. Like I like to do things for people. Yeah. I don't really necessarily care if they do them back, but that's how I like to show that if I like you, I'm going to do everything I can for you. Was that the first time kissing on camera That a great question by the way who wants to leave that one off in my experience having done a somewhat similar premise not related around farmers but it's you guys are very much like as they say the leads of the show and when people don't know what to say or they get a little nervous it's usually like make out time yeah um was that a different it was that did you relate to that experience or was that at least on my farm i think this season they were kind of pushing more towards like bachelor type on the farmer wants a wife because originally i watched i had never seen the show and then i like speed watched season three like the week before i went on the show i was like oh this seems pretty like wholesome there's like some raunchy moments and stuff like that but then i got on my farm and like take your shirt off like every month and i'm like okay make a baby yeah so i mean yeah i mean definitely something i've never done before and like i think there was points where like i think it was a bit uncomfortable like you have an intimate moment with someone and then you look over their shoulder and there's like a camera guy going like this is weird you know how do you guys deal with jealousy because i imagine you know you guys uh there there are going to be some opportunities for some of these women to you know feel a little bit of jealousy given you know you're you're having multiple feelings for different women for me yeah go ahead take it you can take it um insecurity like i'll preface this by saying like everybody's got insecurities like everybody does but if you let that control you that's that's really big for me like just someone who's very secure with themselves is very attractive to me so like jealousy like how they handle that because everybody gets jealous like no matter what but it's how you handle that is big for me so I didn't I felt like I didn't have to deal with that too much I think it was more behind closed doors than what I saw yeah so most of most of my stuff if there was any it was when I was not around okay you know like you know And I can, like, I'll say this, and I mean, we've all talked about this, but, like, all the girls that I had on my farm were all super cool. Like, they all were buddies. So that made it all so weird because I didn't have any. You're like, why am I here? Yeah. I was like, I was the odd person out. Like, they were all friends, and they all got along, and they're all still friends. Like, that's the crazy thing, even after it's done. So I didn't have, like, that jealousy side, you know, so much where you had girls, like, fighting each other and you know stuff like that it was more so they were just like look like we trust you and we know that you're just do it like you're gonna pick the right person for you and we want that there's a lot of lose lose situations a lot where it's just like like you said like you gotta break some hearts and sometimes you gotta like send people home that you don't necessarily have a great reason to send them home it's just a decision you have to make and like you're kind working towards one goal and that's to find somebody and like that was the hardest part for me is just because i'm like i don't want to hurt anybody like that and you know we were kind of knew that warned about that going in it was like hey like this is gonna be hard like sending girls home and you kind of think about that you're like yeah i'm sure it won't be fun but then like i i remember just being like that sucked like that was horrible i hated doing that so i think putting myself in the girl's shoes like if i could only imagine like especially in the first event like of the show like i just hated the layout of like sending girls home because like they're putting themselves out there like you can tell they're super nervous and i could just like see myself in their shoes like putting yourself out there and then getting sent home it's gotta be the worst feeling in the world and like i don't know if i'm allowed to say this but like the first i mean it's on season three as well but like the layout of picking girls is like they line them up like a dodgeball game and you pick them out name by name like come back to your farm and then like the girls that you don't pick are still standing there staring at you and like the host is like well why didn't you pick them and it's just like oh my gosh this is hard this is so hard and it's like it's not a good feeling to like sit there and like as you're saying something you can just see someone's like heart crushed and it just it's not a good thing especially night one that's really hard because you you do get limited time with them and it's the first time ever seeing or meeting like you get a 10 minute conversation yeah and then it's done was there any like oh no what if I'm sending the wrong person home. Like all the time. I mean, you second guess yourself a lot. And I usually don't do that a ton, but I found myself doing like, I don't know how to date five women. Never done that. No idea. No one does. First and last time. First and last time. And so I kept saying, I think I said that so many times on camera. I was like, I have no idea what I'm doing. Like I, you know, I'm just trying to like, again, like it's cliche as it sounds, like follow my heart and just like do the right thing and but it's it's hard to do it's hard to do so uh should we play a little uh this or that yeah we have a fun little game get to know the farmers do you prefer a partner who shares everything online or someone who doesn't use social media at all doesn't use social media okay best pickup line what's your go-to or the best one you've heard are you from Tennessee one of the funnest ones for me was and I don't do this anymore so don't hold this against me but like in college and it's not even a pickup line but if you just like do that at a girl at a bar for some reason they just like come to you for whatever reason it's like they just come and it's like it works every time Who's that guy with a mustache? Date night in or date night out? That's a hard one. I would say both. I can't pick one or one. That'd be a hard one. I would. Depends. Depends on what you're doing. Yeah. Depends on what you're doing. Date night in sounds better. Well, what is your best hometown date? I think, like I always said, like, they asked us during casting, like, our perfect day or a perfect date and mine was like you know i have a boat so i like going out in the water and stuff and i was like going out in the water coming home sitting by a fire that's like perfect day sounds good to me yeah i'll date you unfortunately um what about you uh perfect hometown date honestly for us it's more of just like cooking at home and then having porch beers you know like just hanging out like fire porch beer watching a movie are all of y'all handy men definitely like y'all can fix yeah yeah y'all aren't like task rabbiting to hang a picture no no okay i'm pretty hands-on guy pretty much fix anything but like when it comes to like designing things i'm probably not the best at like how it looks like visually like an interior designer but i can do anything like physically like So she can have all the ideas. Exactly. Electrical. I can't do anything electrical. It can be dangerous. That's the only thing. What about feelings? Can you fix those? Can you fix feelings? Typically run away from that job. I find that to be the most challenging. That's the job I don't want to do. Kiss on the first date or wait? Wait. Wait. When are you all waiting until? When the time is right. For me, it's more so it's like I don't want to kiss you. and I don't want to kiss you until I know that it's something worth doing. If that makes sense. I don't know if that makes sense. It's like, if you, cause I feel like if you kiss somebody too early, like it may, it may leave a wrong impression and you may not even want to be with that person. But if you, I mean, obviously I've kissed people on the first date, but like the older, I point at them. Yeah. You know, the, the older I've gotten, the more it's been like, well, it's like you can kiss anybody, but like it's, it means more if you kiss somebody that you actually want to be with. If the moment's right and it's a mutual thing, that's kind of how I am. I'm not opposed to kissing on the first day, but I'm not going to be like you have to kiss me right now. Big spoon or little spoon? Little spoon. Love it. We got a little spoon guy in. There's nothing better than just like You're a tall guy too. I know. I don't know if she has a long arm. It's so nice though. It's like brings you back to childhood. I mean, little spoon back scratch. That's not bad. It could be worse. Pay on the first date or split the bill. Pay 100%. Do y'all appreciate reach for? I will say this. It's like, even if they offer, that's not. It's nice if you just even offer, but I 100% am not expecting anybody to pay ever. I agree. I don't know if that's just a Southern thing. I mean, y'all are that way too. My grandpa had an old saying. He said, this is another old farmer talk. He said, a woman can pay for herself, but a man won't let her. Sure. Is what he would always say. So that's kind of stuck with me. never like i've never seen my mom pay for a meal like my dad always paid like i've just grown up where you pay for are all of y'all's parents together together they are how long have they been married for me 30 years i don't know i think i'm married like 88 87 something like that i don't know what is like the biggest lesson they've taught you for you know long-term relationship marriage i think i mean i come from a christian background so keeping gone at the center of the relationship i mean i think that's one of the most important things uh like step one and it's allowed my my parents to be happily married for over 30 years now and they're still like happily dating like every week they go down a date night and stuff like that and they're still madly in love with each other so i think being like madly in love but also keeping god at the center of the relationship is something that's super important yeah absolutely i mean i was like and i was in it's like date just date like as long as you're dating each other and you're having fun yeah it's Like I was in my hometown the other day and I was like, saw my mom and dad holding hands walking into the restaurant. Yeah. You know, like stuff like that. And it's like awesome. And like, I've seen my grandmother and my grandfather like holding hands, like, you know, so like, I think it's, if you can just date them, like you're all, it's always going to, you're always going to be in a happy relationship. And just show up. Like I've said before is like, that's kind of what my dad taught me. And, uh, another thing my grandpa said, he, he always said, he's like, I'm only going to give you one piece of marriage advice. he would give me more than one piece and he said the only marriage advice I'm going to give you is yes dear yes dear yes yeah happy life happy life yeah happy yeah and just but that's part of just showing up just be patient with people what is some of the weirdest farm lingo you use is it specific to what you do farm lingo I feel like I mean being from the south like we have things that we say that people don't where are you from Auburn. Okay, cool. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I don't know about lingo, but I get made fun of by words that I say all the time. I do too. I did on the show. I did throughout the entire show. Yeah. I was just getting made fun of. What do we get? Like what? So, y'all say acorn. I say acorn. Like stuff like that. Say oil. Oil. Yeah, I say oil too. Everything's just like... But see, if I say it how you say it, it sounds ridiculous like oil that's how I feel I hate it I'm like get the olive oil not right I got so much flack for saying well like I don't say I can't even say 100 I say 100 your Midwest has got like y'all have different one that drove the girls crazy was like on the show was I would say instead of washer I say washer or like wash you know i just water water i don't i say water like it's weird it comes out randomly but he's from wisconsin and he says uh west rough the roof roof roof yeah the roof how do you say boat boat okay so i hear boat a lot or like it's with an accent i hear it like a lot of people like when they say both it'll be they say bag bag instead of yeah big both oh yeah big big yeah yeah big bolt big i don't i feel like california is kind of i feel like i mean that's a really bad habit i have i guess it's saying like a lot and i think i definitely got ripped up on the show for like pronouncing things wrong because i picked that up when i moved to california yeah the like i hate like i hate doing it's just like i think when you talk to people around here everyone says likes you pick it up so easily and i mean i don't like saying like and i keep saying well spoken on the show like i remember we were talking like it was right after we met each other sean's pr train yeah i remember saying to brett i was just like we were talking and like what you said like your opening pitch was like so perfect and i was like i remember looking at brett i was like i said dude he's gonna like does this guy have a mic on him i was reading the teleprompter the whole time Then they switched to Brett and I and we're like, we're just like red flags. Can they work, man? He's like, love is good. I know what love is. It would be so interesting to watch this all back because I think for me it's like you think back and it was just like an experience and then to watch it back being recorded it's going to be the coolest thing but also like a weird thing, you know? Because at the end we all ended up with one girl so to watch an interaction with another girl that you didn't choose then it's kind of a weird feeling. What's your favorite rom-com movie? 10 Things I Hate About You. What about you? I got two. Either Sweet Home Alabama or Hell Lose a Guy in 10 Days. What about you, Sean? Rom-coms. There's that one movie. It's not really a comedy. There's just one movie called About Time, I think, where the guy goes in the closet and time travels. Have you seen that movie? Yeah. That's a good movie. Narnia? Let's do it. I didn't know that one. I'll have to think about that one. I don't really watch a lot of rom-coms, honestly. Are y'all like movie theater out or like Netflix and chill? I love going to the theater. The theaters is fun. Yeah. I feel like it's kind of slowing down nowadays. Everyone just streams stuff at home. Yeah. It's just kind of sad. It's kind of like a dying breed. There's something good about like going and getting popcorn and a Coke. Oh, yeah. And like just going to movies. Because like making a bowl of popcorn at home, it's just not this. You feel like you're like, oh. Here's what's like funny. So like our hometown, we've got, our theater still charges like six bucks a ticket. And, but we'll just go get popcorn at the movie theater and then go watch a movie. Like if it's not out on. Oh yeah. You like go and get it. People go get popcorn. I heard that actually recently. Like someone like DoorDash popcorn from the movie theater. Really? That's awesome. It's the best thing in the world. That's like what's going to be keeping AMC alive. Everyone just DoorDash and candy and popcorn on it. people aren't sneaking stuff in anymore they're just yeah that is true well boys this has been really fun getting to know you i'm really excited to see how your uh journeys all unfold it sounds like this process worked out for y'all so we're really excited to see how that goes down and what those relationships look like uh when it's all said and done for your uh your partners and for y'all sad for all my single girlfriends who i was like oh Maybe they won't be. There's a lot of good girls though. Yeah. Is this something you guys are still feeling really good and optimistic that this for all three of you, it could be end game and you feel like you guys have found the one? I feel very confident. Yeah, honestly. If you'd asked me that at the beginning of it, I'd say there's no way. But yeah, right now it feels like that for me. Yeah. I mean, I'm completely blown away. I think it'd be so cool if we all ended up marrying our end girls and ended up together. I hope we're at the wedding. I think it'd be a first for a woman once a wife. Well, it's one of the most successful dating shows in the history of dating shows. Many babies have been born. Over 500 babies. Over 500 babies with all the franchises. A lot of babies. Many weddings. It's crazy how many countries this is in. Yeah. Yeah, it's all over. But none bigger than here in the good old US of A. So we are excited to see these journeys unfold. It will be available on Fox coming this spring. And we really appreciate you all, Brett, Brayden, and Sean. uh, good luck the rest of the way. I'm sure it will be hectic and fun and all that fun stuff, but we appreciate you guys taking the time to allow our audience to get to know you. And, uh, we are excited to really dive in to your journeys of finding love, uh, when the season premieres. Yeah, man, absolutely. I appreciate you having us on blast. Good way to kick it off.
